The New Moon October 2022 coincides with solar eclipse and not to be dramatic – but it’s destined to transform your entire life

The New Moon October 2022 isn’t your average Moon. Nope, it’s a Scorpio New Moon Solar Eclipse of 2022 and it’s a game changer. Anytime the Moon is in Scorpio, we can expect intense emotions to bubble up to the surface. When it’s an eclipse, however, that tension takes on a larger-than-life magnitude. Expect that whatever emotions get stirred up during this time will be potent – and necessary for processing to ready ourselves for this next stage.

With this Scorpio Solar Eclipse taking place on October 25, 2022, at 6:48 AM EST, the key phrase to keep in mind is this – radical change. During eclipses, anything that can happen, will happen. During this date in the Moon calendar 2022, the stars are in perfect alignment – literally – to allow fate to take control. Eclipses in astrology are pivotal and their effects can be permanent. They have a way of closing a chapter and pushing us forward in a new direction. It’s a time when we’re steered in new directions and pushed to make fated choices, whether we think we’re ready to or not.

Pay close attention to any conversation, meetings, or events that take place during an eclipse – even ones that seem minor. We may not realize their significance until we look …

What Is the Meaning of the New Moon? – Article Brought Back From the Past

What Is the Meaning of the New Moon?

This moon phase is a time to rest, recharge and renew

New Moons are special, as a time to unfold into your real self, the timeless one. If it’s true that we rest between lives, in our real home, the New Moon is a time to rest, before the next cycle of happenings.

Because of that, it’s one to get juiced up again, by merging with that renewing, spiritual source. And like other moments of soul searching, like the Sun’s “New Moon” at Winter Solstice, it’s a time to remember who you are and get guidance on the road ahead.

Sun and Moon
When the Moon is new, the Luminaries — the Sun and Moon — are aligned in the same Zodiac sign. That makes it a charged time with concentrated energies of that sign. A New Moon is a symbolic point of attention and a symbolic portal for new beginnings.

New Moons are a great time to set intentions for things you’d like to create, develop, cultivate, make manifest. There are many ways to initiate this communion with the Universe from lighting a candle to elaborate rituals. What matters is that you’re committing yourself to your vision, and open to receiving guidance, healing, support from Spirit.

Following the Moon
When you tune into the Moon’s phases, it’s reassuring to know that there are many chances during the year to tap into lunar energy. Like the tides, the Moon ebbs and flows, a rhythm that women understand intimately. New Moons are a blank page on which to speak your dreams out loud, and Full Moons are for taking action and celebrating the fruit of your efforts.

In the chaotic and temporal world, looking to something larger that is also part of yourself can fill you with awe and make you feel connected. For whatever path you’re on, opening to working with planetary energies links you to the power of the divine.

Getting Ready
It’s a good idea to spend some time reflecting in the days leading up to the new Moon. Knowing exactly what you want to draw into your life is not always easy. Part of preparing for the new Moon is making sure you are clear about your intentions. Sometimes it’s a quality you’d like to cultivate like forgiveness, courage — other times it’s a more specific request for a promotion at work or a new place to live.

What Is a New Moon Ritual?
This depends on your personal tastes, the pace of your life and the time you have to devote to it. Some simply light a candle, while others gather objects and pictures for their altar. Try writing your intentions on a 7-day candle and leaving it in a prominent (and safe) place. With a candle, you can return to it and relight it while meditating on your intentions.

Ritual helps focus your entire being on the quest at hand. In the days leading up to the new Moon, you might gather pictures and totems that symbolize your goal. Creating a New Moon collage gives you a visual reminder of your dreams.

What Does It Mean for Each Different Zodiac Sign?
Every new Moon is different, and this gives you the chance to claim the energies of each different sign. Even if you don’t have planets in the sign for a given month, it falls somewhere in your birth chart. We each have elements of the entire Zodiac in our make-up, with some more emphasized than others. Find out where the new Moon falls in your chart for clues as to what to “call in” that month.

How Is It Different From the Full Moon?
The new Moon has a more inward feel, has a void or empty quality, and therefore can be frightening to those not comfortable with uncertainty. Can you learn to trust the dark? It’s the moment when the old passes away and the new is not yet here. That’s why it’s a powerful time for sending out your prayer, wishes, desires to the Universe.

Get ready to stay up late — because the full moon in August 2022, aka the Sturgeon moon, is going to be a good one. Not only will it come with a significant spiritual meaning, but it will also coincide with the Perseid meteor shower.

But what is a Sturgeon moon? Keep reading for all the details on the moon, its meaning, and how and when you can catch a glimpse of our beautiful moon in all its glory this month.

The full moon in August 2022 will be a supermoon.

This month’s full moon, better known as the Sturgeon moon, will rise in the night sky this Thursday night, Aug. 11, 2022, with its brightest glow occurring at about 9:36 p.m. ET, according to SciTechDaily.

The news outlet also notes that the 2022 Sturgeon moon will be a supermoon — and the last supermoon of the year. Some experts believe that the June and July full moons were the only true supermoons in 2022, but others have also recognized the May and August full moons as super as well.

According to NASA, a supermoon is a full moon that appears within 90 percent of perigee (a moon’s closest proximity to Earth in a month), making it appear much larger and brighter than the average full moon to us Earth dwellers.

What is a Sturgeon moon? Here’s the history of the August full moon.

The August full moon came to be known as the Sturgeon moon because in the past, this was the time of year that people had the most success in catching the giant sturgeon fish of the Great Lakes and…

June full moon guide 2022: Feast your eyes on the ‘Strawberry Supermoon’

June’s full moon, known as the Strawberry Moon, will come the same day the moon reaches the closest point in its orbit around the Earth, called perigee, creating a “supermoon” on June 14 at 7:51 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time in New York (1152 UTC) according to the U.S. Naval Observatory.

For observers on the east coast of North and South America, the moon will be below the horizon when it is officially full, as the moon sets at 5:09 a.m. in New York, 6:21 a.m. in Miami, and 6:32 a.m. in Rio de Janeiro (all times are local).

The moon reaches perigee at 7:23 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time on June 14 according to the sky-watching site In-the-sky.org. At perigee, the moon appears about 10 percent larger than average — a “supermoon.” On average the angular diameter of the moon is about 31 arcminutes — a bit more than half of one degree. One degree is about the size of a pinky finger held at arm’s length, and an arcminute is 1/60th of that. The “supermoon” is about 33.5 arcminutes. Even though the name sounds like it should be really large, it takes a very observant skywatcher to tell the difference.

The moon appears larger because its orbit is an ellipse rather than a perfect circle. At perigee, the moon will be 222,098 miles or 357,432 kilometers from Earth, per heavens-above.com calculations. The average distance between the moon and Earth is …

This Month’s Full Moon in Sagittarius Is a Moment to Be Totally Unfiltered

Your intuition is about to get too loud to ignore.

As the mutable fire sign, Sagittarius is adventurous, full of wanderlust, and a strong defender of the truth and justice. Thanks to its ruler, Jupiter, the planet of abundance, the ninth sign of the zodiac is associated with going big or going home, so as far as Sag is concerned, more is pretty much always better. And that expansive, unfiltered, go-getter vibe sets the tone for this month’s full moon in the sign of the Archer.

Falling on Tuesday, June 14 at 7:52 a.m. ET/4:52 a.m. PT, this spirited, romantic, and yes, plenty fiery moon is an opportunity to go with your gut, take a stand, and speak your truth. After the dramatic and often heady spring we’ve had, thanks to eclipse season and Mercury retrograde, it’s sure to be an especially empowering moment.

The full moon in Sagittarius is an opportunity to speak your truth.

Full moons — which happen when the confident sun exactly opposes the intuitive moon — always present a monthly opportunity to wrap up projects you started six months or even two weeks prior. They’re culmination points, breaking points, and a chance to…

7 Ways To Harness The Emotionally Transformative New Moon Coming Our Way

Does your soul need soothing? The 2022 Pisces new moon (on March 2 at 12:34 p.m. EST) opens the floodgates of healing and self-compassion. It also reveals what’s simmering beneath the surface.

We can’t lie, the last couple of weeks have been frightening and turbulent, as far as world events go. Global Jupiter has taken up residence in Pisces, which has dredged some scary “sediment” to the surface. If you’ve been struggling to find a sense of hope or meaning while the threat of world war looms, you are not alone.

The 2022 Pisces new moon won’t solve the horrors in Ukraine, but it can provide you with some self-soothing techniques in the face of a situation that is beyond what you as an individual can control.

Emotions are the domain of the watery sign of the Fish, and the 2022 Pisces new moon provides both a reflecting pool and a chance to plunge into the depths of your own feelings. From that open state, divine guidance may flow in.

Here are seven ways to “shield your field” at the 2022 Pisces New Moon:

1. Scan your subconscious.

February 2022 Full Moon Details

one Moon because by this point, the tribe’s winter food supplies had usually dwindled to the point where people had to gnaw on bones and cook bone marrow soup in order to survive. For the same reason, the Kalapuya tribe called this moon the Out of Food Moon. Appropriately, it’s also known as the Hunger Moon and the Little Famine Moon. Perhaps due to this month’s association with death, the Cherokee tribe would commune with their dead ancestors during the Bone Moon. A didanawiskawi, or a medicine person, would host a medicine dance for the community. Fasting and rituals for the dead were also common practices.

However, not all cultures associate February’s full moon with extreme cold and death. The Hopi tribe calls it the Moon of Purification and Renewal, which is very fitting because the Full Snow Moon is usually the very first full moon of the year according to the lunar calendar. Cultures that follow the lunar calendar, especially East Asian cultures, tend to associate the Full Snow Moon with new beginnings for this very reason. The ancient Chinese, for example, called it the Budding Moon.

As a matter of fact, celebrations of February’s full moon are the climax of Lunar New Year festivities in various East Asian countries. In China, the Full Snow Moon is celebrated during the Lantern Festival, also known as the Yuanxiao Festival, which is the 15th day of the Lunar New Year. During this festival, the Chinese release kongming lanterns into the sky as they admire the full moon and eat tangyuan, glutinous rice balls that are usually filled with sweet paste. The round shape of the balls symbolize family togetherness and bring good luck to the whole family.

Many East Asian cultures in general also light lanterns and bonfires to celebrate February’s full moon. According to an ancient Chinese legend, not long after Buddhism was brought into China, 17 deities were witnessed flying through the sky during the first full moon of the Lunar New Year. Shocked and excited, the populace lit fires and lanterns to see the godly beings better. They continued to do so year after year, but for more practical reasons – to chase away pests and to pray for a good crop in the upcoming spring.

In Korea, where February’s full moon is known as Daeboreum, these fiery structures are called “Houses of the Burning Moon”. During Daeboreum, Koreans hike mountains despite the freezing temperatures in order to catch a glimpse of the first rise of the first full moon of the Lunar New Year. According to legend, the very first person to accomplish this feat will have their dearest wish come true.

New Moon February 1, 2022 – Romantic Surprise

The Aquarius new moon on February 1, 2022, makes a tense square aspect to Uranus. So the spiritual meaning of the new moon February 2022 astrology relates to adapting to change and uncertainty with flexibility, open-mindedness, and higher self-awareness.

The February 2022 new moon also brings opportunities to benefit from changing conditions. Venus trine Uranus can bring an exciting new romance or spice up an exciting love relationship. A surprise financial bonus is also possible.

New Moon February 2022 Astrology

The new moon Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at 12°19′ Aquarius is conjunct Saturn and square Uranus. But for this interpretation, I believe the Uranus aspect is more important for 3 reasons:

  1. The orb for the Uranus square (1°25′) is much smaller than the orb for the Saturn conjunction (3°10′).
  2. Saturn square Uranus (4°37′) has ceased having any influence.
  3. Venus trine Uranus (0°20′) is the tightest planetary aspect in the chart and makes Uranus even stronger.

New Moon Meaning

Sun conjunct Moon represents the end of one cycle and the beginning of another new 28-day cycle. It gives an invigorating burst of energy and initiative. But it also brings …

1 February 2022 Daily Correspondence Digest for the Southern Hemisphere’s Moon Phase and Planetary Positions

You can use this link to go forward or backward in time for Moon phase information. If you are curious, you can even find out what phase the Moon was in when you or anyone else, you know was on the date the person was born.

From Moongiant.com

Today and tonight the Moon will be in a New Moon phase. During this phase the Moon is too close to the sun in the sky to be visible. The moon rises and sets with the sun and is not present in the night sky. Because of this the night sky is darker and an excellent time to view other celestial objects. Like the Full Moon, a New Moon happens at a very specific time when the sun and moon have the same ecliptic longitude and it can be measured down to the second it occurs.

Visit the February 2022 Moon Phases Calendar to see all the daily moon phase for this month.

Today’s New Moon Phase

The New Moon on February 1 has an illumination of 0%. This is the percentage of the Moon illuminated by the Sun. The illumination is constantly changing and can vary up to 10% a day. On February 1 the Moon is 0.3 days old. This refers to how many days it has been since the last New Moon. It takes 29.53 days for the Moon to orbit the Earth and go through the lunar cycle of all 8 Moon phases.

The 8 Lunar Phases

There are 8 lunar phases the Moon goes through in its 29.53 days lunar cycle. The 4 major Moon phases are Full Moon, New Moon, First Quarter and Last Quarter. Between these major phases, there are 4 minor ones: the Waxing Crescent, Waxing Gibbous, Waning Gibbous and Waning Crescent. For more info on the Moon Cycle and on each phase check out Wikipedia Lunar Phase page.

The shortest day of the year, in terms of daylight, is December 21, the winter solstice. But the days will actually begin to feel a bit longer two weeks before the solstice. That’s because the earliest sunset of the year happens before the solstice, and in 2021, it occurs on Tuesday, December 7.

Little Pagan Acorns – Website for Pagan Children

[Not just for Pagan children that are homeschooled but for any Pagan child)

WHY PAGAN?

The world of homeschooling is dominated by Christians, and the majority of online resources are Bible-based. For someone who is Pagan, it gets pretty frustrating to find great printables that aren’t filled with Bible scriptures or Christian phrasing. So I wanted to create a resource for all of us who are parents and/or homeschoolers who are following other spiritual paths.

My purpose is to create pages that can be mixed in with other resources to add some Pagan terminology, ideals and history so that people can teach their children something that is uniquely Pagan.

I also intend to have selections of nature-based and generically “spiritual” material that could be used by folks who aren’t really Pagan but want an option away from the Christian materials as well.

I know that the term “Pagan” covers a huge range of faiths and beliefs, and I hope that I can properly respect them all here. My own path is more Wiccan and you’ll tend to see more material along that slant (lots of altars, Sabbats and pentacles!). I’d welcome any comments or suggestions from other beliefs so that I can accurately cover them. I apologize in advance if I have included anything that is inaccurate about other religions. Feel free to let me know.

So, welcome to Little Pagan Acorns and I hope that there is something here to help with your Pagan homeschooling and parenting!

Crafting Your Own Sacred Schedule – Part 2

Anniversaries, Birthdays, and Other Important Life Moments

The first category may seem pretty obvious, but we often tend to not look at these dates in a spiritual context. We may even view them as obligations versus observances over time. Birthdays aren’t just about getting older; they are opportunities to reflect on the events that took place in the past year and set goals for the next year. A birthday can serve as a reminder for us to be kinder to ourselves.

Marking the beginnings of a relationship (wedding, union, handfasting, etc.) is a great time to remember what brought you together and what you have accomplished along the way. Similarly, anniversaries of endings can be moments to recall we have come and how we have changed. For example, nearly a decade after the fact, I still remember the date when I finally decided to end an abusive relationship. It marks not only the end but also a new beginning, the new me. Celebrate your moments of strength in dark times as well as your triumphs in the best of times.

What other important moments mark significant changes in your life? A college graduation date, the day you arrived in a new place, an initiation or elevation into a tradition, the day you met you best friend, or the day you reconciled with someone — all are possible things you might choose to acknowledge on a yearly basis.

The musing of a witch

Study session by Dawn

Beltane is know as the fertility Esbate, it is the time for the earth to be transformed from the cold and rain of spring to the bright and sunny time of summer. The god is building his strength as the days grow longer and the crops strengthen to give us life through the winter and early spring. The animals are fertile and some are even up to their second or third litter of the year. I saw a fat robin this morning with a big worm in its beak and I was wondering how many little birds she has and how many times so far this year has she raised a brood. (Life is Good)

I love this time of year as the crops start to come up, we as a household will have a wonderful garden this year thanks to Deacon Charles Mead, the days are lengthening so you can work outside for a longer time as evident of the painting I did yesterday.

One of the positive items of this year with the Corona Virus is I have had time to do many home improvement projects to make the ole homestead look the best it has in years, and these will continue through the summer. Thank goodness for the time and the beautiful weather so i can do this for the people I love

I hope you all take a minute or two in the next couple of days and give thanks to Gaia for all her bounty, take your shoes off and walk through the newly green grass or even spread a blanket and lay down and look at the clouds. This is the time of Earth’s abundance take a minute and appreciate the gift in whatever manner you chose to, just know that report, phone call to the boss, work assignment can wait 10 minutes as you pause to enjoy life.

Coven Life’s Coven Invites You to July’s Full Moon Esbat Gathering on 7/16

This month we are going to try a musical/sharing circle instead of someone leading us in the types of Esbat rituals we have been doing in the past. After the circle is opened please let us know if you would enjoy doing some more a little out of the witch’s standard rituals for our Esbat gatherings. We would like to do more Esbat gatherings where everyone attending can participate, unless it is for an initiation.  So, to bring you the types or rituals and/or circles you want to learn more about we have to hear back from you to know what you want.  Yes, I am the Priestess, and we have one active Priestess, and also Adepts that write and lead rituals but this coven and the type of things you want to know more about the variety of things you can do in a circle is a very important part of your novice, adept, and priestess lessons. So, please let your fingers do the talk in the comments or if you feel more comfortable send your ideas via email to covenlifescoven@gmail.com. As long as a ritual you would like to see done does not involve any type of dark magick I or Priestess Hypatia will be happy to help you write and lead the ritual. It does not matter what course you are taking novice, adept, or priestess you can either comment below or send an email about a topic for a sacred circle. The only exception to leading a ritual is you have to have already done the novices lesson on “What is an Esbat and actually write and performing an Esbat ritual” for your novice course lessons. If you have not gotten that far in your studies yet you can still submit a topic for an Esbat circle.

Playing a specific song with or without lyrics and/or using a drum, maracas or any type percussion instrument that has a steady, rhythmical sound to it can help you to go from being in the mundane, hectic everyday world into place of peace, quiet, reflection, and center you for magickal workings or even bring more power to the magick and/or spell you are doing.

An inexpensive way to make a drum and reuse what would otherwise be thrown away (they cannot be recycled because of the wax coating they have on them) use an empty cylinder-shaped oatmeal box by putting the lid on it and hit it rhythmically. To decorate it if you want to here is one idea on how to do it: take some copy paper or whatever kind of solid color paper you have and glue it to cover the writing on the oatmeal container. Let it sit out in the open for about 24 hours to make sure the glue is completely dry. Then decorate your drum to reflect you and your magickal/spiritual journey you are on. For the one or two sticks you can use to drum with these too can be decorated. People usually use some runes craved into the sticks and/or you can attach a string with bead and/or real bird feathers on one end of them.

Don’t have to time to create your drum than you could by one or just use a plastic bowl and wooden spoon to hit it with. Or just hit to sticks together or clap your hands to the beat of the music.

RITUAL:

LADY BELTANE: I walk this circle three times three in the direction the sunrises with the Maiden and Lad , Mother and Father and the Crone and Sage along be side of me. I ask Luna to put us in a dome. I ask Earth to come up to meet Luna so we reside in a bubble that is out of time and in between worlds.

EVERYONE: Please introduce yourself (first or Pagan name only) and tell us what state or country you are from

When everyone has their drum in hand and the video ready to play. Type in “ME” please.

LADY BELTANE will count down from 5 to 1. When she gets to 1 turn on the music and start getting the beat of your drum in time with the music and dance and sign or whatever you feel the Lord and Lady are leading you. Let your mind just wander wherever it wants to go. You may receive messages from your Spirit Guides and/or ancestors. If you do listen closely to what they say. This is also a type of meditation. When the song has ended, we will take a minute for those who went into a trance like state to fully come back.

LADY BELTANE: I will call on you one at a time to share the experience you had as you drummed and listen to the song.

EACH PERSON: Each when called upon to share will have between 2 to 3 minutes to share their experience in this circle. Lady Beltane ask that no one asks to be passed by when called upon to share. Every single persons experience is important and we may learn something new from you experience that we didn’t.

LADY BELTANE: I walk this circle three times three in the direction the sunsets with the Maiden and Lad , Mother and Father and the Crone and Sage along be side of me. Triple Goddess and God thank you for helping to protect us and joining our celebration this evening. I ask Luna to take the dome away above our heads. We thank you Luna for helping to protect us and joining our celebration  I ask Earth lower yourself so we reside in a bubble that is out of time and in between worlds. Earth thank you for your help in protecting us and joining our celebration. I have brought us back into the physical plane with reside in.

Our circle is open but never broken. I send each of you blessings of love, joy, harmony, and peace.
