Exercise Spell

Items needed for this spell:
Your body
Put on your exercise apparel and start your exercise routine. Do whatever warm-ups you need to do, before starting this spell. Once you are warmed-up, Hold up your hands up in the air and move your arms in gesture, as you say this chant eight times:

“I’m a tree, I’m a tree.
Today is two, for Tuesday.
Tomorrow is three.
Tonight the moon will rise.
Everyone tells me it’s good for
the body,
And that I need to exercise.”

Then, put your hands on your waste. Bend to your left side, eight times, while saying this chant:

“I’m a tree, I’m a tree.
I sway and bend.
One, two, three.
Limbering up for wind.”
Repeat this chant for the right side:
“I’m a tree, I’m a tree.
I sway and bend.
One, two, three.
Limbering up for wind.”

Now, bend over and touch your toes for about eight times. Each time you bend over, say this chant:

“I’m a tree, I’m a tree.
Today is two, for Tuesday.
Tomorrow is three.
Tonight the moon will rise.
I know it’s good for my body,
And that I need to exercise.”

Then, stand on one leg for about a fifteen seconds and alternate between both legs, for a total of about 4 minutes, while doing this, say this chant:

“I’m a tree, I’m a tree.
Today is two, for Tuesday.
Tomorrow is three.
Tonight the moon will rise.
If I want to stay healthy,
I need to exercise.”

Finally, run in place for about 10 minutes and say this chant:

“Step, step, step, step.
One after another
And more to go.
I’m running and talking,
Every day, a little further.
Taking breaths and walking.
Every inch grows.
Step, step, step, step.
Keep going.
Water in my cup.
Or bottled not to spill.
Always a test of the mind,
And a test of the will.
Might run tired,
But I never give up.”

Saying these chants while exercising, will, hopefully, ensure your desire to repeat these routines, week after week, and make the time go by quicker.

Spells for Today

For many, Friday is the last work day of the week. It’s considered the fifth day of the work week and, also, the “cut loose” day. By Friday night, people are out having a party. That makes Friday the perfect day for lust, banish, fast-grant, and find spells. This day is so powerful (energy wise). That’s why whatever you do on this day will, usually, have a strong effect. If you want things out of your life, the darkness and power, associated with this day, bring the energy you need for that. If you need strong, immediate results, this is your day, as well.

Lust Spell – Hair on Stick Lust Spell

Items you will need:
3 strands of hair
1 comb or brush
1 small stick
1 tube of red paint
1 bottle of glue
Find a small stick and paint it red. While the paint is drying, comb through your hair and take three strands from your comb or brush. After the paint on the stick is dry, cover the stick in glue. Then, wrap the three strands of hair around the stick and let the glue dry.
Now, say this chant:
“I’ve wrapped up my passion.
I’ve wrapped up my lust.
I’m ready for it to come out.
I’m ready to trust
My desires and my will,
So the Universe can make it real.”
Put the stick under your bed, and your desires should could true.

Fast-Grant Spell – Money Grant Quick Spell

Items needed for this spell:
1 quarter
1 sheet of paper
1 pen or pencil
Close your eyes and think about how much money you need and how fast you need it. When you are ready, open your eyes. On the left side of the paper, trace around a quarter. Then, trace a quarter on the right side. Draw a line from one quarter to the other.
Say these words:
“Point A,
To point B
Money come fast.
Money come quickly”
Fold up the paper and put it in a coat pocket. Very soon, you should receive some money.

Find Spells – Help Me Find Spell

Items you will need:
1 small white candle
1 small blue candle
1 lighter or match
Set the two candles in front of you, close your eyes and think about what you have lost and how much you want it returned. Light both candles and say this chant three times:
“Blue candle is my love and devotion for ____________.
And how much I need ____________ back,
Safe and sound. _____________ was lost,
But I hope ________________ will be found.
White candle is for _________________’ s safe return,
While heading on my track.”
When you are done, blow out the candles. You may wake-up one morning and be shocked by the return of your lost item.

Saturday and Binding Spells: A Commonsense Guideline

If you don’t like the idea of using poppets and have decided to work a binding, and you have a handle on your emotions, then here are some commonsense guidelines that I suggest you follow:

* Bindings are best performed on a Saturday.

* Work the binding at sunset and you pull into the spell the closing energies of not only the day, but of the entire week.

* Work with black candles; they coordinate with Saturn’s energies and they are the classic magickal color for this type of witchery.

Finally, to be crystal clear, a binding is the act of psychically restraining a harmful person or criminal so that their actions cannot harm anyone else. The goddess to call on is Hecate, and she is a mighty magickal force. Consider your words and actions carefully when you call on her. How you choose to work a binding is up to you. At this point, I suggest that you take a moment and draft out your binding spell on paper. Go carefully, and remember to harm none.

You may experience some dramatic special effects when working with Hecate. Don’t be taken aback if the wind picks up….if you candles flicker and snap…..or if you begin to notice barking or howling dogs. The animals sense when Hecate is near. Yes, we have gotten very serious all of a sudden. That’s because a binding is a serious matter. Surprised? Don’t be. Just because I tend to look at things from a humorous perspective doesn’t mean I am not serious when the situation calls for it.

This invocation includes some of the correspondences for Hecate. If you choose, you can add these to your spellwork. (This would also be a fine addition to the opening of poppet magick). A general invocation for Hecate follows.

GUIDELINES FOR ALL GATHERINGS AND OPEN CHATS

GUIDELINES FOR ALL GATHERINGS AND OPEN CHATS

No matter what spiritual path you follow or the type of witchcraft you practice, except dark practitioners, you are welcome to join us for our open chats and Esbat and Sabbat gatherings. The Sabbat gatherings celebrate both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres’ Sabbat. Look at the banner on the right side of the page for information on upcoming Heart’s Spirit Online Coven events. They are all held via Skype. You can join us by typing in your message or response.

The main guideline for when we are gathered on Skype or anywhere else for any reason is the Wicce Rede: “An’ ye harm none, do what ye will.”

No one will be allowed to use foul, rude, racist, hurtful, hateful, or gender-bashing language at any time during any type of gathering. Anyone not following this guideline will be kicked out of the gatherings immediately and blocked forever.

This is not a dating site! If you attempt to hook up with someone or use sexually suggestive language toward anyone else at the gathering, you will be kicked out and blocked forever.

During Esbat and Sabbat gatherings, all conversations will cease 1 minute before the sacred circle is cast until the sacred circle has been closed.

During Esbat and Sabbat gatherings, no one may leave the circle without permission from the person leading it. If you leave the sacred circle for any reason, except if the electronic device you are using to attend disconnects you, we ask that you do not re-enter the sacred circle.

When attending a Sabbat gathering, we ask that you stay for both hemispheres’ rituals. *

* SABBAT GATHERINGS

Once the circle starts, all socializing and/or comments about the rituals must stop unless you see the word “EVERYONE” in the ritual.  You will get one warning if you break this guideline. If you break it a second time, you will be asked to and expected to leave the gathering immediately. There will be no exceptions to this guideline as it is rude to the person or persons leading the ritual (s). If you do not leave you will be taken out of the gathering by Lady Beltane. If this happens again at another gathering, you will be permanently banned from attending any Heart’s Spirit Online Coven gatherings. There are no exceptions to this.

No one should enter or leave the chat room from the time the sacred circle is cast until the sacred circle is closed. To enter or leave the chat room (the computer knocking you out of the chat room during this time is the only exception for re-entering the circle) during this time breaks the circle, and whoever is leading the circle needs to take their time and energy to close it up again.

All electronics in the room you are in during the gathering should be shut off except for the device you are using to access the gathering as the energy raised during the circle can possibly do minor or major damage to other devices.

Everyone attending an Esbat and/or Sabbat gathering is welcome to stay after the circle is done to visit with the others and/or offer other ideas for the ritual performed at that gathering.

These are simple guidelines and show courtesy to all people attending the gatherings and those leading them. Not obeying all the guidelines could get you banned from all Heart’s Spirit Online Coven gatherings and open chats for life.

Any questions about the guidelines and/or anything to do with Heart’s Spirit Online Coven, the open chats, WOTC’s School of Witchcraft, and Esbat and/or Sabbat gatherings can be emailed to Lady Beltane at ladybeltane@aol.com. All emails will be answered as soon as possible after receiving it.

If you want to attend any type of gathering, please read this guide. When you email Lady Beltane for the information to join the gathering, please include this phrase “In perfect love and perfect trust.” in the email so I know you have read the entire handbook.

All lessons are copyright 1980-2025© by Lady Beltane. They cannot be reprinted or reposted without author’s expressed written permission.

We do not write spells or do spells, hexes, curses, rituals, or any other type of magick for anyone, so please do not email us asking us to do any of these. If you do, your email will wind up in spam and then deleted.

Pagan Meal Blessing Spell

Meal Blessing Spell

You can do this any day, or on a special occasion, before preparing a meal.

1. Light a candle in the kitchen and pass your hand three times, clockwise, over the food you are preparing.

2. Say softly three times:
“A blessing on the meal and peace on earth.”
3. Before setting the dining table, carry the same candle to the center of the table.

4. When the food is on the table, or just before you serve it, say:

“Give thanks to the Mother Earth.
Give thanks to the Father Sun.
Give thanks to the plants in the garden,
Where the Mother and Father are One.”
If you know the people well, you could say these blessing words before the meal. But if not, say them silently in your heart.

Smells like witch spirit: How the ancient world’s scented sorceresses influence ideas about magic today

Most perfume ads suggest that the right scent can make you sexy, alluring and successful. A blend by Black Phoenix Alchemy Labs, meanwhile, offers to make you smell like Hecate, the three-faced Greek goddess of witchcraft.

As a classics scholar who studies both magic and the senses in the ancient world, this idea of a witch-inspired perfume fascinates me – and “Hecate” is just one of many magic-inspired fragrances available today.

What does a witch smell like, and why would you deliberately perfume yourself like one?

Smells are impossible to see or touch, yet they affect us emotionally and even physically. That’s similar to how many people think of magic, and cultures around the world have connected the two. My current research is focused on how magic and scent were linked in ancient Rome and Greece, ideas that continue to shape views of witches in the West today.

Greeks and Romans of all walks of life believed in magic and used spells ranging from curses to healing magic and garden charms. Magical handbooks from the time show that Greco-Egyptian magicians used fragrance extensively in their rituals, even scented inks, and doctors believed strong-smelling plant species to be more medically effective than others. The gods themselves were thought to smell sweet, and places they touched retained a pleasant odor, making scent a sign of contact with the divine.
