The Moon phase for October 27th, 2026 is a Waning Gibbous phase. This is the first phase after the Full Moon where the illumination of the moon decreases each day until it reaches 50% (the Last Quarter phase).

During this phase, the illumination of the moon will go down from 99.% to 50.1%. Being a Scorpio born on October 26th…

Astrological symbol: Scorpion. This symbolizes stubbornness in desire, fierceness, power and mystery. It influences people born between October 23 and November 21 when the Sun is in Scorpio, the eight zodiac sign.

The Scorpio Constellation visible between +40° to -90° is one of the 12 constellations of the zodiac. Its brightest star is Antares while it covers an area of 497 sq degrees. It is placed between Libra to the West and Sagittarius to the East.

The name Scorpio is the Latin name for Scorpion. In Spain, Escorpion is the name of the sign for October 26 zodiac sign, while in Greece and France they use Scorpion.

Opposite sign: Taurus. This means that this sign and Scorpio sun sign are in a complementary relation, suggesting power and illumination and what one has the other lacks and the other way around.

Modality: Fixed. This indicates how much logic and mystery exists in the lives of those born on October 26 and how entertaining they are in general.

Ruling house: The eighth house. This placement is focused on what others own and on the permanent desire of having what others have and suggests why these have always been of interest for Scorpios.

Ruling body: Pluto. This has as symbolism assurance and persistence. It is also said to influence bravery element. Pluto is associated with the regenerative sources of the body.

Element: Water. This is the element of the sentimental and spontaneous individuals born on October 26 who reveal a introspective nature but who are also quite charming to those around. Water combined with earth shapes things in many different ways.

Lucky day: Tuesday. This is a day ruled by Mars, therefore deals with intention and individuality. It suggests the emotional nature of Scorpio natives.

 Lucky numbers: 2, 3, 11, 13, 20.

 Motto: “I desire!”

People born on October 26 are strong willed and very sociable. They appreciate being listened to and love to be in the spotlight. While they might appear as stubborn and selfish, they can also be very understanding with those with whom they feel the need to be like that. They avoid mediocrity at all costs and hate when they are not in control of a situation. They love to wrap themselves in a bit of mystery.

Positive Traits: Unpredictable and challenging, these natives are extremely intelligent when it comes to dealing with a lot of things, but mostly when they are given some sort of heads up so they know what to expect. They make humorous companions and are dignified and honorable once you manage to win their attention. They are inquisitive by nature and dedicate their lives to discovering a lot of things about the world surrounding them.

Negative Traits: Possessive and supervising, these natives need to learn how to take things easier because not everyone can live with these combative moments that they are triggering because of their weaknesses. They are very moody and clingy and often come up with fixed ideas that they find very hard to leave aside. They should also temper things down with their constant venting and complaining because everyone around them is probably sick of that.

They hardly connect with someone at a deeper level but when they do, they open their minds completely. IF YOUR BIRTHDAY IS ON OCTOBER 26, it is likely that you are an emotional individual. You have a tendency to be insecure but you are an intelligent, resilient personality. You have good instincts and are able to “read” people.

However, the October 26 birthday personality is a private person and usually doesn’t discuss business or their feelings with other people. You don’t trust a lot of people and this is a smart practice.

But you surely have friends to whom you can vent your frustrations too. Your friends and family understand that you are not perfect and have your own set of disappointments and your periods of depression or blues.

When faced with obstacles, you have what it takes to come back fighting. It would not be smart to betray someone born on October 26. This Scorpio birthday person has a long memory.

They won’t forget who caused them discomfort and discord. This could be something that you may want to take a look at also. Stress has its way of coming back to haunt you mentally and physically.

The 26th October birthday astrology predicts that you have a tendency to look over your shoulders a lot looking for something to happen. This, also, could be because of the fact you seek revenge on people. Maybe you should find other ways of dealing with your anger and emotions. In a romantic relationship, one may find this 26th October birthday zodiac person to be jealous and controlling.

Be that as it may, you are knowledgeable and are smarter than the average bear. You have the gift of perception and insight so it’s hard for anyone to pull the wool over your eyes. Through this, however, you still find time to help people and have a hard time when you can’t.

Friends are few but that’s your choice. The October 26 birthday people prefer a small circle as opposed to a large group of associations. Your friends say that you are charming but you have the capability of being incredibly manipulative. However, you are not that heartless. You love deeply when you find a loyal and true friend or lover. Having the respect of people is more important to you than self-gratification.

The 26 October birthday horoscope foretells that career choices are many for those born on this day. You are particularly interested in professions that offer some crime or adventure. Forensic science is a growing program that can provide extensive training and hands on experience.

You are always in the know of things anyway so this will only accent your abilities. At the end of the day, having a Scorpio as your fearless leader could be the best idea yet. Besides being intelligent, you are not afraid and you tend to be protective of the people and things you care about.

Since you are willing to study for a new career, you will find yourself doing a lot of research… and liking it! You, as a team player, can go at it alone but you are very comfortable working by yourself and away from the spotlight. When it comes to money, the 26 October birthday personality would prefer to have it in the bank. You will not splurge on things you could live without. Your philosophy lies somewhere along the lines of being cheap. “Let me find out” you still have a flip phone!

The October 26 birthday meanings suggest that you are not the easiest person to understand or to get close to. You are a person who would rather talk about the latest news rather than the latest gossip. This does not appeal to you as you know gossip is mainly made up of lies and half-truths.

On the other hand, if you do find this Scorpio deep in a conversation about who, what, when and where, beware. The scorpion is probably setting a trap or at best, find out things they just have a need to know.

If today October 26 is your birthday, then you are concerned about your health. You stick to your eating schedules and meal planners. You prefer things like tennis, cycling, yoga, and meditation to physical exercise that requires sweat and pain. Looking good is important to you and your image but it should not hurt or so you say, Scorpio.

Generally, as someone born on October 26, you are a restless individual but you are motivated by success. You analyze almost everybody you come in contact with. This Scorpio is very capable of being passionate and mysterious at the same time.

You know your worth but don‘t find it necessary to flaunt it. Use that leverage when you need to let it all go. As a drawback or negative influence, you may suffer from paranoia.

A Spell for Tomorrow – A Ritual Spell to Call your Ancestors to You

A Ritual Spell to Call your Ancestors to You

This is a ritual spell using a tiny amount of your blood. This spell should not be done if you are new to The Craft as it is an advance spell ritual where things could go wrong if you are not prepared with the foundation of how spells work and what may happen when you do them.

This spell can be used to communicate with any family member who has crossed into the Summerlands. It can also be used just to spend some quiet time having them near. If you want to talk to or be with one person in particular substitute the persons name in the line of the spell I indicate. I suggest you do this spell or any spell when calling on those in the Summerlands in a scared circle. As sometime someone or thing may try to piggyback to this plain on the person you are calling to. The sacred circle stops any unwanted guests from getting in, and they will return to where they came from because they have no place to go in this plain.

This ritual spell can be done in any Moon phases but I have found it works best during a waning Moon.

What You Need;

White Candle

Black candle

3 Postage stamp size pieces of white or black material

Straight pin (Dip it in Rubbing Alcohol before using it)

A FIRE SAFE container to burn the pieces of material in (Remember to put a trivet under the container so where you set up your altar does not get a burn mark on it)

White Sage

Sweet Grass

Pine Needles

Matches or Lighter

Set up your altar as usual except use the white candle in the Goddess place and the black candle in the Gods place.

Cast a Sacred Circle and call the Watchtowers/Quarters.

When you light the white candle call in the Goddess Persephone.

When lighting the black candle call in the God Hades

Place the white sage, sweet grass and pine needles into the fire safe container. Light the herbs and breathe in some of the cleansing smoke.

Prick the ring finger on your left hand then place one drop of blood on each of the three pieces of material.

Drop the material on top of the burning herbs each time to start the spell. (Remember a spell should be said three times to get the best results.)

SPELL:

Person’s name or Blood to Blood I call to thee,

Blood to blood come to me.

Person’s name or Blood to blood I honor thee,

Blood to blood come to me.

As I will it So mote it be

After you are through with your visit allow the spirit to return to the Summerlands with this spell:

Person’s name or Blood to blood you have honored me

Blood to blood I release thee.

Return to the Summerlands for rejuvenation and rebirth

I will meet you there when the time comes for me to leave the Earth

As I will it So mote it be.

When your guests have left blow out the candles and open your circle.

The Witches Guide to Mondays

The Witches Guide to Mondays

Think for a moment on all of the witchery, magick and enchantments that you have discovered. Don’t be afraid to adjust spells to suit your own specific needs. Any gentle, illusory, and dreamy charms and spells can be enhanced when you work on the day of the week that is dedicated to the moon. Mondays are a fantastic day to boost your psychic abilities and to tune in to your intuition and empathy. It also gives you the opportunity to work with a different lunar phase each and every Monday, which means in one month you could work four different types of moon magicks on Mondays. How’s that for adding to your repertoire? You are going to have mad skills in no time at all.

So light up those lunar scented candles and add a little mystique to your outfit by wearing an enchanting lunar color. Wear your sparkling silver jewelry and maybe add a pair of dangling silver earrings or a pendant shaped like a crescent moon. Create lunar potions and philters; make a dream catcher and give it as a gift to someone you love. Burn some sandalwood or jasmine-scented incense today to inspire the glamour and magick of the moon. Slice up a favorite variety of fruit that is in season for a snack or share it with your love and enjoy his or her lunar and romantic qualities. Brew up a cup of chamomile tea, enchant it with a little moon magick, and relax and get a good night’s sleep.

Most importantly, get outside tonight and watch the moon for a while. What phase is she in? What color was the moon as she rose? Why not start a journal and write down at what location the moon rises and sets for a few seasons? This is a great way to teach you to tune in and to become more aware of the moon and the influence that she pulls into our lives. Try calling on Selene for her magickal assistance, and call Thoth for wisdom and strength. Get to know the Norse Mani and the Latvian Meness. These gods of the moon have plenty to teach, and if you allow their influence to cycle through your life, you’ll receive many blessings. Be imaginative, and create your own personal lunar magick and witchery. Go on….the moonlight becomes you

As a Scorpio born on October 25th…

Astrological symbol: Scorpion. This symbolizes resilience, willfulness and plenty of desire. It influences people born between October 23 and November 21 when the Sun is in Scorpio, the eight zodiac sign.

The Scorpio Constellation, one of the 12 zodiac constellations is spread on an area of 497 sq degrees and its visible latitudes are +40° to -90°. The brightest star is Antares and its neighboring constellations are Libra to the West and Sagittarius to the East.

The name Scorpio is the Latin name for Scorpion. In Spanish, Escorpion is the name of the sign for October 25 zodiac sign. In Greek and French it is used Scorpion.

Opposite sign: Taurus. This sign as the opposite or complementary of Scorpio reveals intuition and sentimentalism and shows how these two sun signs have similar goals in life but they reach to them differently.

Modality: Fixed. The modality shows the broad minded nature of those born on October 25 and their loyalty and passion about most life aspects.

Ruling house: The eighth house. This house rules over the material possessions of others, and directs towards the struggle of an individual to own whatever those around own. It also refers to mystery and the ultimate unknown that is death.

Ruling body: Pluto. This celestial planet reveals preoccupation and down to earthiness and also highlights help. Pluto is consistent with Hades, the god of the unseen in Greek mythology.

Element: Water. This element sheds light on the consistent but adaptable approach of people born under the October 25 zodiac sign. It is also said to influence these individuals in recognizing the chances around them and in pursuing them in a natural way just like water flows.

Lucky day: Tuesday. Ruled by Mars this day symbolizes clairvoyance and dedication and seems to have the same efficacious flow as the lives of Scorpio individuals.

 Lucky numbers: 3, 7, 14, 19, 25.

 Motto: “I desire!”

People born on October 25 are very sociable and often helpful and considerate when they feel the need to do something for those around them. Beside this great sense of social awareness they are also passionate beings and try to live life as intensely as possible. Most of them have a secret dream and try to build up around it, although they don’t often succeed because they are surrounded by mediocrity that they dislike and are always engulfed in controversy battling it and somewhat displacing their goals.

Positive Traits: These natives are persuasive and inquisitive and love a good challenge. They are mysterious and secretive but at the same time their life reactions could be summed in two words: simplicity and intuition. They are jovial companions and have mastered the body language and are often putting on small shows for those close just to convince them to embrace their beliefs or do something that they want.

Negative Traits: Scorpio needs to learn to stop being so domineering and understand that people can do better when addressed nice words and when they are not under total control. Those born on this day are jealous and possessive with those they care about and can be very cruel with people who deceive or make any mistake to them. They are very spiteful when sometimes disappoints them. They rarely forget and excuse.

Love and Compatibility: Lovers born on October 25 are passionate, sensual and secretive. They find it very hard to commit to one person, but when they do they become very loyal and reliable. However they keep many things to themselves as they are afraid to appear sensible and weak in front of someone else. They are attracted to someone who shares the same exciting lifestyle as them. You can conquer the heart of Scorpio if you know how to handle them and be open and ready to listen when they have a moment when they feel like sharing what’s going on in their mind.

They are a sensitive lover who knows exactly how to adoringly treat their loved one. They offer the world to the person near them. However, the problem is that sometimes they prefer to suffer from unrequited love rather than make a move and win the heart of the person they want. Despite the fact that they are friendly and generally happy persons it is quite difficult for them to settle for someone, probably because they are expecting things to happen instead of making them happen. They are most compatible with those born on 1st, 2nd, 10th, 11th, 19th, 20th, 28th and 29th.

October 25 Zodiac people are very attracted to the other water signs: Cancer and Pisces as they tend to share the same vision of life. In life, Scorpio is constantly seeking for stability, protection and trustworthiness and the most suitable to offer them this is the native from Taurus. Scorpio is thought to be least compatible with Libra. As for the rest of compatibilities between the other star signs and Scorpio, you know what they say, stars predispose but people dispose.

Scorpio is the first most commonly met zodiac sign in the horoscope. Exuding feminine symbolism but also a general negative polarity, this is also considered of even number. This defines introvert natives who are reserved and calm. Amongst the archetypes used to characterize this sign there is the Investigator. Those born in autumn, under Scorpio make great sportsmen.

Chaos Dragons

Chaos Dragons
These dragons don’t have a ruler, their color is pure black, and their homes are in Elemental Chaos. These dragons are always dark colors that blend into blackness, often it will look like they have stars caught in their scales. Their bodies are heavy and huge; in fact they tend to be the largest of all dragons. They have wide, wedge-shaped heads and their long tails often are barbed or spiked. Chaos dragons have huge wings that often blend into the night sky and may be hard to make out; they are masters of camouflage in spite of their large bulk and are rarely seen if they don’t wish it.

These dragons are not evil or malicious, they work with us and their magick is often incomprehensible to us and they go beyond our limited view of happenings. Because of this their acts may seem cruel, but they are working for our greater good. These dragons are pure representations of chaos and we are to call on them when we realize that not every problem or situation can be resolved with order and reasoning. When working with these dragons they will go straight to the source of your problem or question and force you to confront it. This can be rather uncomfortable for us as we will need to deal with hidden aspects of ourselves that we may not be ready to face, so be sure that you are prepared to accept the consequences of invoking a chaos dragon. Chaos Dragons do not act as Guardians nor Guides.

Chaos dragon magic is mainly concerned with the re-creation of lives, relationships, and careers. You can employ them to help break through barriers, with changing luck, and in bringing about vast changes.
You can work with them to explore past lives and their magick is particularly powerful aids in divination.

Their magick is also used to confine anything that will hinder you in forward growth and movement, if you invoke this aspect of them be prepared to have everything that is holding you back leave you life whether you want it gone or not. This is the type of dragon that we work with when we talk about ‘riding the dragon’; eventually during this ritual we will have to confront our worst enemy ~ ourselves…
Chaos Dragons can also be heralds warning of catastrophe, to ignore what they have to say may bring about destruction in our lives.

How to Use Dragon’s Blood in Magic and Ritual from learnreligions.com

In many magical spell instructions, you’ll see a reference to an ingredient called Dragon’s Blood. Obviously, this is not the blood of real dragons… so what exactly is it, and how is it used?

What is Dragon’s Blood?

Dragon’s Blood is actually a resin, which is harvested from a variety of different plant species. The bright red pigment is what lends it the name Dragon’s Blood. The products which are currently marketed and sold to modern Pagans are not precisely the same as what ancient cultures referred to as Dragon’s Blood.

Maud Grieve’s Modern Herbal says,

“The berries are about the size of a cherry, and pointed. When ripe they are covered with a reddish, resinous substance which is separated in several ways, the most satisfactory being by steaming, or by shaking or rubbing in coarse, canvas bags. An inferior kind is obtained by boiling the fruits to obtain a decoction after they have undergone the second process. The product may come to market in beads, joined as if forming a necklace, and covered with leaves … or in small, round sticks about 18 inches long, packed in leaves and strips of cane. Other varieties are found in irregular lumps, or in a reddish powder. They are known as lump, stick, reed, tear, or saucer Dragon’s Blood.”

The Romans, Greeks, and others used a byproduct of Dracaena cinnabari, the cinnabar tree, found on an island in the Indian Ocean. The tree’s gum resin has a number of uses, including as an abortifacient and as a dye — it’s even found as a colorant in lipstick.

Some practitioners use a powdered version of Dragon’s Blood as incense. If you’d like to try this, it tends to work best if you mix it in with other dried items, and then burn it on a charcoal disc.

Depending on which magical path you may follow, there are a variety of uses for Dragon’s Blood. Cat Yronwoode of Luckymojo points out that in many Hoodoo and folk traditions, this item is used for protection, power and good fortune. It may even be turned into an ink to write out spells. She says,

“Dragon’s Blood powder is also used by women who wish to receive an offer of Marriage. They write their lover’s Name on a small square of brown paper, cross it with their own name, fold Dragon’s Blood powder into the Name-Paper, and throw the packet onto glowing charcoal along with Love Me Incense while saying their prayer.”

How Dragon’s Blood Is Used

In some Wiccan traditions of magic, Dragon’s Blood is used for healing, protection, and banishing. Many Pagan paths believe that adding Dragon’s Blood to any other incense or herb blend will increase the potency of the original mix.

Dragon’s Blood also comes in handy when it comes to cleansing a space. If the previous occupant of the location left behind some dodgy energy, burn Dragon’s Blood incense, or sprinkle the powder around the perimeter to banish away negativity. Blend it with dried sage or sweetgrass for extra metaphysical protection.

As you can probably guess, Dragon’s Blood is associated with the element of fire, so you can use it on your altar to represent fire in the absence of a candle, or use it in rituals that involve flames, the sun, heat, or power.

In some traditions of folk magic, the resin is blended into an oil. Use Dragon’s Blood oil to anoint candles or to dab on your wrists to enhance your personal power. Create a money drawing oil by adding bits of lodestone into Dragon’s Blood oil, or add cinnamon and pieces of rose quartz to create a love oil. For purification magic, add a few pieces of hematite or onyx, along with rosemary or sage, into your oil, and use it to anoint your doors and windows; this will help keep negative energy outside of your home.

5 Ways to Use Dragon’s Blood in Magic

Add it to an herbal blend of incense, to give your magic an extra boost.

Use Dragon’s Blood ink in spellwork that involves writing things down, such as names or your intention.

Anoint yourself with Dragon’s Blood oil for empowerment and protection when you’re doing any sort of dream journeys or astral travel.

Some traditions use Dragon’s Blood in love spells, particularly if you hope to receive a marriage proposal.

Use it in an herbal sachet for healing magic related to bleeding, especially involving women’s reproductive issues.

Spell For Tomorrow – The Call to the Dragons of the Quarters/Elements

(YOU CAN COPY AND PASTE THIS SPELL TO A DOCUMENT FOR YOU TO PRINT AND/OR SAVE ON YOUR COMPUTER FOR PERSONAL USE ONLY. )

The Call to the Dragons of the Quarters/Elements

This is an all-purpose dragon spell/invocation that can be done a few times a year to enhance your magical practices.

When you summon the Dragons of the Quarters, you are requesting a willing dragon to keep an eye on and direct the elemental forces connected with that quarter/direction.

At twilight create a circle of protection around you.

When you initially cast a circle, you will most likely receive multiple different dragons standing in as Quarter Guards.

You may eventually discover that the same four dragons are answering your call every time (you’ll be able to tell by the “feel” of the energy each provides). When this occurs, you may either wait for the dragon to disclose his or her name, or you can choose a name for each one. Many Dragons choose to operate in this manner, accepting the moniker as a gift. In any case, at the proper quarter, change those names with the lines “One who is willing” and “Great _ Dragon.

Face the correct direction and invoke:

East: The wonderful forces of the air have arrived from the regions of the Eastern Dragons! I summon One Who Is Willing to stand watch at the Eastern Gate. Give me supremacy over the powers of the air. Help me increase my intelligence and knowledge. Keep an eye on this circle so that anything that I do is wise! Great Eastern Dragon, hail and welcome!

South: The purifying force of Fire has arrived from the realms of the Dragons of the South! I summon One Who Is Willing to stand watch at the Southern Gate. Give me dominion over the Fire powers. Help me develop our free will and creativity. Keep an eye on this circle so that I can spread joy and beauty! Great Southern Dragon, hail and welcome!

West: Water’s cleaning power has arrived from the regions of the Dragons of the West! I summon One Willing to Guard the Western Gate! Give me dominion over Water’s abilities. Assist me in strengthening my intuition and emotional control. Keep an eye on this circle so that I can have the guts to listen to my inner voice and act accordingly! Great Western Dragon, greet and welcome!

North: The sustaining power of Earth has arrived from the kingdoms of the Dragons of the North! I summon One Who Is Willing to stand watch at the Northern Gate. Give me supremacy over Earth’s forces. Assist me in building physical, mental, and spiritual strength. Keep an eye on this circle so that I can have the courage to dive into the wonders of the cosmos! Great Northern Dragon, greet and welcome!

The Moon phase for October 25th, 2026 is a Waxing Gibbous phase. This is the phase where the moon is more than 50% illuminated but has not yet reached 100% illumination (which would be a Full Moon).

In the Northern Hemisphere, the right side will be illuminated, and in the Southern hemisphere it’ll be the left side that is illuminated.

The Waxing Gibbous phase, like all moon phases, will last for just over 7 days. The actual length will vary because of the elliptical shaped orbit of the moon. During this Waxing Gibbous phase the moon will rise in the east in the mid- to late-afternoon and will be high in the eastern sky at sunset.

Assuming it’s a clear night, the Waxing Gibbous moon will then be visible through most of the night before setting just before sunrise.

Six of Wands – Minor Arcana

Success after hard work

A woman with a small dragon on her shoulder stands with a crown on her head. A five-point star is centered on her forehead, directly over the spiritual third eye. This symbolizes the woman’s connection with spiritual guidance and her access to ancient knowledge.  Before her is a table covered with rolled scrolls, quill pens, and other magickal equipment. Prominently to the front is a brass vase holding six crystal topped wands. Other small dragon fly and sit about the room. The star (pentacle of protection and a symbol of the Goddess) and the crown (spiritual enlightenment) reveal that this magician is on a higher path of life. She has gathered her will power (the wands) and placed them in a position to bring about fertility an manifestation (the vase). This fertile energy is repeated in the Celtic scrollwork carved into the table, the magician’s center for working her will.

Divinatory Meaning: You are rewarded with success after hard work. A message of good news brightens your day. There could be advancement in career. Supportive friends give you the courage to follow your dreams.

Tinne/Teine

T stands for Tinne, or Teine, the Holly tree. This evergreen plant is connected to immortality, unity, courage, and the stability of hearth and home. Pronounced chihnn-uh by the Celts, the wood of the Holly was often used in the construction of weapons, and is known as a plant of warriors and protectors.

In the pre-Christian British Isles, the Holly was often associated with protection–planting a hedge around your home would keep malevolent spirits out, thanks in no small part to the sharp spikes on the leaves. In Celtic myth, the concept of the Holly King and the Oak King symbolizes the changing of the seasons, and the transition of the earth from the growing time to the dying season.

When Christianity moved into the Celtic lands, the new religion associated the Holly plant with the story of Jesus. The poky spikes on the leaves represent the crown of thorns worn by Jesus on the cross, and the bright red berries symbolize his blood.

Ace of Cups – Minor Acrana

Love; friendship; emotions; feeling

Description: In this coat of arms we see the Holy Grail. The legend reads “water my blood” and urges us “to keep silent.”

Interpretation: The Ace of Cups is the element of water at its more pure. It’s the refreshing spring bubbling up from the rocks, the trickle that will become a great river meandering to the sea. It’s the beginning of some new emotional journey. It’s the first flush of love and the aching love of life. It’s a pure feeling. It’s the Holy Grail.

Reading: The Ace of Cups represents a spring, a fountain, and the opening up of emotions. It signifies love of every kind, from romantic love to friendship. If the card is reversed then something is damming the water supply, leading to stagnation. Unlock the channels. Remember how to feel.

Cardinal

“The polarities of your spiritual pursuits and physical pleasures are out of balance, so do whatever is necessary to bring them back into equilibrium”

When on a spiritual path, it’s easy to idealize what being spiritual means. It can become a rigid mental imprint upon which you judge anything that varies from your conceptualization of what “being spiritual” is suppose to be about. This includes not only another person’s practices and beliefs, but your own. Falling short of this idealism leads to either assuming a righteous and arrogant position with others, or when self-imposed, elicits guilt and shame.

This spiritual perfectionism can make you reticent about enjoying the pleasures of the material world, as well as those of your physical body. The Earth Herself provides a dazzling and sensual panorama of experiences to be directly encountered through the physical senses. Yet for many, truly enjoying the pleasures of senses of sight, sound, taste, touch, and smell can be fraught with worry, anxiety, guilt, and shame—products of early childhood religious and/or cultural conditioning. Others become so entangled in the world of senses that it becomes their god, and their spiritual core is lost to materiality.

To be polarized in one direction or another takes you either to lofty heights and iridescent abstractions that are completely ungrounded, or else causes you to become caught up in the glue of the mundane world without the guiding light of Spirit to provide a locus of authority. With the blessing of your awareness, you can redirect your thoughts and actions towards that which brings greater balance and fluidity between two polarities.

Onn/Ohn

O is Onn, or Ohn, and represents the Gorse bush, sometimes called Furze. This yellow, flowery shrub grows on moors all year long, and is full of nectar and pollen. It’s a food source for many animals–the stalks are munched on by grazing livestock–but eventually Furze is set on fire. This controlled burn allows old deadwood to be gotten rid of, and clears the way for new life to begin. Gorse (Furze) represents long-term thinking and planning–knowing that sometimes we have to do without in order to gain things in the future. Gorse is a determined sort of plant that always comes back, and so it is also connected with perseverance and hope.

In some pieces of Celtic folklore, the Gorse is used as a protective barrier. Planting it around one’s home would keep the Sidhe away, and it can be shaped into a broom for sweeping away negative influences.

…

The Moon phase for October 22nd, 2026 is a Waxing Gibbous phase.
