Knight of Pentacles – Court Card

This is the card of new career adventure and an auspicious occasion. There is energy and enthusiasm for the new project or new job. There may be some kind of progression in training involved, as with levels of skilled craftmanship from apprentice to master. The indication is that there is an auspicious change on the horizon, something sought and approached with unbound eagerness. The card could refer to a new job, or even entry to the military service where one may learn a skill or trade.

Here the Knight of Pentacles is a young woman. Leaving the farm and freshly plowed fields behind her, she rides her muscular workhorse and carries her earned pay in a pouch on her belt. She is excited and determined to make her way in the wider world, earning a living through her hard work, for with her draft horse she can hire out to plow fields at different farms. This card indicates a useful person who offers stability and approaches work in a reliable and methodical manner, yet is able to implement new ideas and carry them through to a satisfactory conclusion.

Peonies, flowers for business and opportunities, are carried by the Knight of Pentacles. A flacon, a symbol of loyalty, security, and communication, flies near the knight.

MeaningJob opportunity, auspicious occasion, useful person, responsible, and competent worker, new career advancement, enthusiasm, reliable worker, goal achieved, beginning of a new stage of work or career, diligent service, consistent effort applied to tasks, gentle and methodical, good business sense, self-reliant.

Prompt Words: Job opportunity, new career adventure.

(By comparison, our own ancestors date back to just 2.8 million years ago.) In addition to being ancient, spiders live on every continent except Antarctica. So, they appear in the mythologies and folklore of cultures around the world.

Scythe: the reaping, death, waning, end of an era, releasing and clearing

The scythe may seem scary to some, like the Death card in a tarot reading. BUT the scythe also means an end to something that needs to be released. It could mean clearing and letting go.

Huath/Uathe

H is for Huath, or Uatha, and is symbolic of the Hawthorn tree. This prickly-thorned tree is associated with cleansing, protection and defense. Tie a thorn with a red ribbon and use it as a protective amulet in your home, or place a bundle of thorns under a baby’s crib to keep bad energy away. Because the Hawthorn typically blooms around Beltane, it is also strongly connected with fertility, masculine energy, and fire.

In folklore, the Hawthorn is associated with the land of the Fae. Thomas the Rhymer met the Faerie Queen under a Hawthorn tree and ended up in the Faerie realm for seven years. Despite its connection with female and goddess-centered pre-Christian belief, it’s considered unlucky to bring Hawthorn into your home. This may stem from the fact that some species of Hawthorn give off a particularly unpleasant –almost corpse-like–scent after they’ve been cut. No one wants their home to smell like death.

In Glastonbury, England, there’s a famous Hawthorn tree known as the Holy Thorn. The tree that stands there today is supposed to be a descendant of one that stood on Glastonbury Tor two thousand years ago, when Joseph of Arimathea brought the Grail to England from the Holy Land. When Joseph thrust his staff into the ground, it turned into a Hawthorn tree.

One

Number 1 literally suggests being number 1 in the things you’re doing. If it’s business, then number 1 shows your admirable leadership ability, your charisma when showing others the way, and in turn, people’s natural, innate desire to trust your lead. If you decide to own your business or be a manager at a company, you’ll succeed greatly. Just remember, not every other person is a number 1! It will help to have patience and understanding for those who’re born to be followers.

In matters of love, it’s easy for you to be on your own and not feel lonely. You love being in a relationship but you also enjoy being single – sometimes too much! When you’re going for a long-term commitment, make sure your partner doesn’t have co-dependency issues, as it will be a deal-breaker for you.

If a certain date adds up to number 1, that day is a great day to start new projects, to go out on a first date, to get a new haircut, and to plan ahead.

Fast-forward to today, and dogs are now a part of people’s lives all over the world. PERTH

Initiation, Something Concealed, A Secret Thing

Deep, inner trans formative powers are interacting, but what you are going to get out of them isn’t easy to recognize.  An integrity – concealed, disguised, secretly hidden.  After all, what is going to heal us and our soul is a deep mystery.  On the side of the material world there probably will be surprises; unexpected profits are nothing to be excluded.  Nothing less than a renewal your spirit is the risk you take.  The old way found its end:  You simply cannot repeat the old things any longer without suffering.  However, you always have a chance:  Either you see all negative as a “misfortune”, or you recognize the entire as a hindrance stretch, an inaugural way that you have to follow at this moment.

Coll

C, sometimes read as K, is Coll, which is the Hazel tree. August is known as the Hazel Moon, because this is when Hazel nuts appear on the trees–the world Coll translates to “the life force inside you”, and what better symbol of life than the nut itself? Hazel is associated with wisdom and creativity and knowledge. Sometimes it is connected in Celtic lore with magical springs, sacred wells, and divination.

Hazel was a handy tree to have around. It was used by many English pilgrims to make staffs for use upon the road–not only was it a sturdy walking stick, it also provided a modicum of self-defense for weary travelers. Certainly, it could have been used as well for ritual. Hazel was used in weaving of baskets by medieval folk, and the leaves were fed to cattle because it was believed this would increase the cow’s supply of milk.

In the Irish myth cycles, there is a tale that nine hazel nuts dropped into a sacred pool. A salmon came along in the pool and gobbled up the nuts, which then imbued him with wisdom. A variation of the story appears in the legend of Finn Mac Cumhail, who ate the salmon and then took on the knowledge and wisdom of the fish. Note that Mac Cumhail is often translated as Mac Coll.

Kên / The Mountain

Above this Mountain’s summit another more majestic rises:
The Superior Person is mindful to keep his thoughts in the here and now.

Stilling the sensations of the Ego, he roams his courtyard without moving a muscle, unencumbered by the fears and desires of his fellows.
This is no mistake.

SITUATION ANALYSIS:

There is a higher vantage point available to you, but it is obscured by the visible peak of personal ambition.
To climb to this higher plane, you must shake off the desires and fears of the conscious, visible world around you.
To make this journey you must quiet the Ego, empty your mind of past and future, and dwell totally in the moment at hand.
Thorough mindfulness of what is before you is the only tranquility.
Be. Here. Now.

Ruis

Regret, pride, shame, embarrassment, learning from experience, resolution

Tree: Elder (Sambucus spp.)

Letter: R

Shame isn’t all bad and does not deserve a uniformly awful reputation. Without shame and the fear of being shamed, every human child would be demonically bratty. Shame is a limit that informs us to keep our own ego in check. It is often about considering others. Having shame about one’s own past behavior is motivation to avoid shameful behaviors such as cheating and stealing.

Shame is an emotion that demands confrontation. All too often, people run away from what shames them, attempt to excuse themselves from wrongful or immoral behavior because they’re too cowardly to face what they have done or to admit their responsibility in causing their own misfortunes or the misfortune of others. Ruis indicates a willingness to face one’s own shame and to do with shame what it was meant for, and that is to use shame of the past to build oneself into a better person for the present and future. Ashamed of something you did? How can you make yourself into the type of person who would never even think of doing something like that? Overcome being the type of person who would engage in the shameful behavior and you become the master of it; you won’t have the remotest chance of repeating such a mistake. Did you become embarrassed because you did something you now understand to be greedy? Then learn to balance thriftiness with generosity. Adjust to the circumstance rather than overreacting to it. Are you ashamed about cheating on a boyfriend/girlfriend or spouse? Become a person who would never cheat on your boyfriend/girlfriend or spouse regardless of conditions, which could mean an assortment of outcomes: sticking to a resolution of no cheating and staying together, admitting one’s sexual preferences and going with the flow, changing the person you are with, or being single for a long time.

Because humans tend to remember negative experiences more easily than positive ones, it’s important when you draw Ruis to acknowledge the things you are not ashamed of about yourself. For every bad or shameful thing you’ve done, remember there are a thousand shameful things you avoided. Maybe it is time to appreciate the places you could have gone horribly wrong and did not.

Ruis ill-dignified death:

Lacking shame and the good sense that goes with it. Too little shame is solipsism, or the belief that since we answer only to ourselves in the end, the world is a free for all of Social Darwinism and we’d do best to grab all we can in the feeding frenzy. Drawing Ruis ill-dignified isn’t necessarily saying you are the smoking train wreck of a sociopath who is acting the compleat solipsist; it is more of a warning of tendencies towards that type of flawed thinking or a call to look at the nature of solipsism and to meditate upon what it means to you. Don’t be the pot who calls the kettle black. Caring about how your actions impact your family, friends, the environment, and the future is ultimately anti-solipsistic. A little self-shame goes a long way in bettering one’s own development as a human being.

Hexagram Sixty – Two/62

Hsiao Kuo / Lying Low

Thunder high on the Mountain, active passivity:
The Superior Person is unsurpassed in his ability to remain small.
In a time for humility, he is supremely modest.
In a time of mourning, he uplifts with somber reverence.
In a time of want, he is resourcefully frugal.

When a bird flies too high, its song is lost.
Rather than push upward now, it is best to remain below.
This will bring surprising good fortune, if you keep to your course.

SITUATION ANALYSIS:

There is no profit to striving here.
To be content with oneself is the greatest success imaginable.
The enlightened person has nothing to prove to himself or others, and thus may always operate from a position of sincerity, with no pretense or posturing.
His humility is guileless simplicity.
His mourning is selfless compassion.
His frugality is an unshakeable faith that he is but a conduit, letting what is needed flow through him to others, with no loss to himself.

Spell For Today – Male Fertility And The Link With Cernunnos

(YOU CAN COPY AND PASTE ANY SPELLS POSTED TO A DOCUMENT TO PRINT AND/OR SAVE ON YOUR COMPUTER FOR PERSONAL USE ONLY. You can find the origin of the spell by clicking on the hyperlink.)

Male Fertility And The Link With Cernunnos

Cernunnos is the Celtic God of Fertility. He is also called the Horned God, and this spell calls him forward.

To prepare, gather first a green candle. Then, find a few things that Cernunnos will like. Ideas include apples and other fruit, beer, acorns and wine. You can give him anything, however, as long as you do it with the best of intentions. You also want your offering to break down naturally in the environment.

If at all possible, the spell should be done in a wooded area.

The Spell

Make sure you have the necessary ingredients and then cast the circle. Light the candle and allow yourself to relax and meditate for a moment or two. You want your mind to be calm. Once you have achieved this state, become one with nature. This is a little easier to do if you are outside. If you are inside, think about being in the woods. Picture the trees, the grass and the sky. Think about how you are a part of nature. Engage in this for quite some time; do not go on to the next step until you think you have done it properly.

Once you are ready, you should call forth Cernunnos. The spell that follows is a great guide for you, but you can also say whatever you are feeling.

“Lord of the Dance, Horned God of Fertility,
God of the grains, God of hunting,
I come before you and your fertility
I plead with you to bring fertility to me as well.”

After you have said what you wanted to say, sit quietly for a bit. Allow the spirit of Cernunnos to wash over you. You can produce the offerings that you brought for him at this time as well. If you are inside, simply set the offerings on a plate. Later, you can take them outside and find a good place to lay them. Any liquids can be poured directly into the Earth. Food should be left on the ground, preferably near an oak tree.

Once you have done this, bring forth a picture of your future baby in your mind. Invite Cernunnos’ spirit to join you. You should feel happiness.

Before closing out the circle, make sure to thank God for being there with you.

Spell For Today – A Fertility spell Without Ingredients

(YOU CAN COPY AND PASTE ANY SPELLS POSTED TO A DOCUMENT TO PRINT AND/OR SAVE ON YOUR COMPUTER FOR PERSONAL USE ONLY. You can find the origin of the spell by clicking on the hyperlink.)

A Fertility Spell Without Ingredients

(From the author) I would like to make a disclaimer before describing the rite. Nobody wants to take the place of doctors or say that doing a ritual to have a child is the only right way in the world. The fact is that this is our way of praying (I mean us pagans), like when someone goes to church and prays by lighting a candle.

Our ways of praying are different but no less respectable than others. Many women have asked me for the favor of publishing a ritual that could help them have a child. If this ritual can serve to give you a chance, because harmony and positivity always start from the mind, then I’ll be happy to show you how to do it.

According to my point of view, whoever is to be born is a soul waiting for a woman who can allow him to cross the door to the outside world. The souls are there waiting to find the right one that can give them the life they need to live and then come (who knows when) to enlightenment.

So, you should be ready to welcome a new life into yours. Many people experience this moment with anguish; therefore, it is very easy to get stuck. Therefore, try to relax, to be calm by creating a sort of inner peace. Your anxiety will close the doors.

As soon as you feel ready, calm, and free of any negative moods, buy a teddy bear, a rattle, or a baby onesie.

On a Monday, place your object so it is exposed to the rays of the moon to create a connection with the universe.

When you feel ready, place the object on your heart and say:

“For you my child, my body is ready to receive you!” (Repeat 3 times)

Ace of Swords – Minor Arcana

Upright Meaning

This suit represents the rational mind and its ability to discriminate. Swords cut through things in order to pierce illusion, to differentiate between fantasy and reality.

In the image of this Ace, a single upraised sword represents your prime motive or guiding ideal — the vision that guides you through life’s changing fortunes with single-minded clarity.

The sword is sometimes shown piercing a silver and/or laurel crown, a symbol of optimism implying evolution, progress, a sense of hope and victory. It is occasionally shown pointed downwards — a darker message, which refers to sacrifice, challenges and a critical environment.

Reversed Meaning

The Ace of Swords reversed suggests that you are not allowing yourself to see the one thing that matters most. You may be using reason to create rather than cut through obstacles.

Stop clinging to illusions. Look again at your biases, the preconceptions you bring to situations. Ask yourself how you could represent circumstances in a less self-serving manner and perhaps get a better outcome. Reexamine your perspective so you can help break down barriers.

Scythe

Planet: PLUTO

Sign: SCORPIO

Element: WATER

Answer: NO

The rune of endings, scythe, foretells of cutting away the past, letting go of that which no longer serves you, and severing ties. All things must end for new beginnings to be possible, although this can be hard to accept if you fight against or fear the change.

Loss can be painful or hard to bear, but you will gain the chance for renewal once this cycle comes to an end.

The supernatural is indicated, as are ghosts and connections with those beyond the veil. Seek guidance from ancestors, and find peace and wisdom in the turning of the wheel.

Quiert

Q is for Quert, sometime spelled Ceirt, and is tied to the luscious Apple tree. Long symbolic of love and faithfulness, as well as rebirth, the Apple is often associated with magic. If you cut an apple in half sideways, the seeds form one of nature’s perfect stars. In addition to love, the appearance of Quert reminds us of the eternal cycle of life. After all, once the Apple tree dies, its fruit returns to the ground to birth new trees for coming harvests.

The Apple and its blossoms feature prominently in folklore related to love, prosperity and fertility. The Roman goddess Pomona watched over orchards, and was associated not so much with the harvest, but with the flourishing of the crop. Apples are also connected with divination, particularly for young ladies wondering about their love lives.

Quert Correspondences

Mundane Aspects: No one likes to be faced with choices, because sometimes what we want is not what we need. However, we still must choose. Sometimes, we make decisions because they are the right ones to make, not because they make us happy. Be wise enough to understand the difference.

Magical Aspects: Open your inner soul to new decisions, and allow yourself to harvest the gifts that your spiritual path has to offer. Know that sometimes, things might not make sense, but chances are good that you’ll learn from this later.

Sung / Conflict

The Judgement

Conflict. You are sincere
And are being obstructed.
A cautious halt halfway brings good fortune.
Going through to the end brings misfortune.
It furthers one to see the great man.
It does not further one to cross the great water.

The Image

Heaven and water go their opposite ways:
The image of Conflict.
Thus in all his transactions the superior man
Carefully considers the beginning.

Comments on the Hexagram

The upper trigram, whose image is heaven, has an upward movement; the lower trigram, water, in accordance with its nature tends downward. Thus the two halves move away from each other, giving rise to the idea of conflict.

The attribute of the Creative is strength, that of the Abysmal is danger, guile. Where cunning has force before it, there is conflict.

A third indication of conflict, in terms of character, is presented by the combination of deep cunning within and fixed determination outwardly. A person of this character will certainly be quarrelsome.

Four

Definition

When strength and efficiency are needed, it’s number 4 to the rescue. The 4 in Numerology is a no-nonsense number with a heads-down approach to life and work. It is extremely dependable and lends a great amount of stability to a person or situation. The 4 is dedicated to advancing, but in a more conservative way than a progressive one. It sticks to what is tried-and-true instead of attempting methods that are new.

Even more than the number 13 in western cultures, the number 4 is considered very unlucky in some Asian countries. There’s even a name for the fear of the number 4: tetraphobia. But in reality the Numerology number 4 carries a wise and rational energy that can bring us a sense of security and consistency. It has a strict definition of right and wrong and tends to see things as black and white with no grey in between. The number 4 leads with its head, not its heart, and uses this mental strength to build a life of service and contentment.

Strengths

Practical: The 4 has a realistic outlook on life and isn’t swayed by the newest or shiniest object, experience, or idea. This rationality allows it to make wise decisions and develop solid plans that can really move the meter. For the 4, practicality is the root of productivity.

Loyal: The number 4 prides itself on being dependable and will work hard all day to prove its level of commitment. It needs a stable foundation to feel comfortable, so it will put great effort into creating secure, long-lasting relationships, opportunities, and agreements.

Service-oriented: Its hardworking nature means that service comes naturally to the 4. It knows you need to put in time and effort to get the best results, so acts of service in relationships, jobs, friendships, and at home are necessary to keep things running smoothly. It’s another way the 4 creates stability, and it is happy to put in the work.

Weaknesses

Dogmatic: The nature of the number 4 is very conservative and firm in its personal beliefs. Once it has made up its mind it sees its opinions as facts and has no hang-ups about preaching them to others. Unfortunately, this concrete way of thinking leaves no room for other perspectives to enter. While the 4 believes it is staying true to itself, it really is limiting itself.

Dull: Choosing to work over play and sticking to traditional interests and activities, the number 4 can honestly be a bit boring. It can be a straight-edge that is not easily excited nor is it interested in experimenting or trying new things. It is perfectly content in its way of life, it’s just that this way of life isn’t all that interesting to others.

Rigid: It’s hard for the number 4 to be a team player because it is so inflexible. It’s confident to a fault, always thinking it’s right and never allowing itself to be swayed. This assuredness makes sense in some situations, but when it comes to give-and-take and working together, the 4 has a lot to learn.

Spell For Tomorrow – Kuan Yin Friendship Spell

(YOU CAN COPY AND PASTE ANY SPELLS POSTED TO A DOCUMENT TO PRINT AND/OR SAVE ON YOUR COMPUTER FOR PERSONAL USE ONLY. You can find the origin of the spell by clicking on the hyperlink.)

Kuan Yin Friendship Spell

You should cast this spell if you want to heal a friendship following a fight or disagreement.

After performing it, call your friend and invite him/her to go out on a Saturday or Sunday.

Difficulty: Advanced
Effectiveness: 4/5

Things you need

Lavender shower gel

A pink candle

Pure vanilla extract

A sunflower or an object that represents it

A pink pen

A piece of parchment

How it’s done

Start by relaxing with a nice hot shower and lavender shower gel and while you are cleaning yourself imagine washing away the wounds and anger towards your friend.

Dry off and head to the room prepared for the ritual without getting dressed first to symbolize your willingness to resolve the conflict. Relax further and focus on your goal.

Light the candle after greasing it with vanilla extract. Invoke the goddess Kuan Yin to give you energy and pray to her:

“Kuan Yin, the goddess of affections, watches over me tonight in an attempt to regain friendship with (person’s name). Please help us to recover a peaceful and joyful relationship.”

Bring to mind the good times spent with your friend and when you feel the feelings of joy and affection grow inside you, write down everything you like about your friend.

Once finished, read aloud what you have written holding the sunflower in your hand and then repeat the following words:

“Kuan Yin, lady of friendship, charge this flower with your divine energy”. Then place it on the parchment.

Once the operation is over, thank the goddess by praying:

“Kuan Yin, thank you for giving your help in the success of my goal. I thank you for what you want to grant me. Stay if you want, go if you have to. I will leave you, be blessed.”

Let the candle burn out and give the flower to your friend as soon as you see them.

Five of Wands

Obstacles; opposition.

Five robed magicians (some men, some women) are battling each other with their wands. Flashes of magickal energy come from the wands, as the magicians either defend themselves or attack others. These magicians represent two types of people in the world: those who are overly ambitious and jealous of what others accomplish, and those who must learn to defend themselves against such attacks by others. Jealous people often attack those who have worked hard and gained positive things from their efforts; unfortunately it is a common human failing. Life is difficult enough (symbolized by the rocky landscape and twisted tree roots), without complicating it with unnecessary battles brought on by misunderstandings, jealousy, and twisted ethics. Only a cool head, spiritual guidance, and resistance to foes will help balanced person win the day. Tiny Air dragons dart above them, their fiery breath intermingling with flashes of energy. They represent the astral guardians who try to bring peace to such a situation.

Divinatory Meaning: Obstacles and opposition from others may complicate your life; you will have to struggle to overcome this.. Harmful gossip could damage your reputation and/or ccareer. You may find yourself in trouble with the law.

(One Person’s View Point) The Enigma of Friday the 13th: Sacred Symbolism for Witches and Women

Friday the 13th is a date shrouded in mystery and superstition. It invokes both fear and fascination in the minds of many. While often associated with ill luck and dark omens, this peculiar day holds a sacred significance for witches and women alike. Delving into the depths of history, folklore, and cultural beliefs, we unravel the enigma behind Friday the 13th and explore its connection to witchcraft and the empowerment of women.

Origins and Historical Significance:

What are the origins of the superstitions surrounding Friday the 13th? It can be traced back to a convergence of various historical and cultural influences. The perceived unluckiness of Friday can be attributed to Christian beliefs. It is supposed as the day on which Jesus was crucified. Additionally, it was believed that Eve tempted Adam with the forbidden fruit on a Friday. This perpetuated the association of the day with misfortune.

The fear surrounding the number 13, known as triskaidekaphobia, has deep historical roots as well. Many ancient cultures considered the number 12 to be complete and harmonious, representing the twelve months, zodiac signs, and apostles. The number 13, therefore, disrupted this balance and was viewed as a symbol of chaos and disruption.

Ten of Cups- Minor Arcana

Imagery and Symbolism

Rainbow…

Dancing Couple…

Children Playing…

River…

Green Landscape…

House…

Upright Meaning

Keywords

Harmony, Bliss, Complete Emotional Fulfillment, Family, Joy, Peace, Contentment.

General Overview

The Ten of Cups stands as a beacon of emotional and familial harmony. It represents the zenith of human happiness within the home and relationships, a paradise on Earth where love and joy overflow. The imagery is both vibrant and serene: a joyous family beneath a brilliant rainbow of cups. These cups are an emblem of emotional wealth and fulfillment, achieved through genuine connections and mutual respect.

It is a card that signifies the importance of bonds, be they blood or chosen. Here, there is a manifestation of dreams and aspirations in the realm of relationships and emotions. While most cards in the tarot deck may denote a journey or progression, the Ten of Cups marks a moment of arrival. It is the harmonious conclusion, the idyllic state one hopes to reach.

However, the presence of the rainbow, while symbolizing blessings and peace, also reminds us of the transient nature of such moments. They are to be cherished and acknowledged, for they arise from the culmination of effort, understanding, and love.

Reversed Meaning

Keywords

Broken Dreams, Disruption, Family Discontent, Misaligned Values, Shattered Harmony.

General Overview

In its reversed position, the Ten of Cups suggests a disruption in the idyllic picture it paints when upright. The harmony, joy, and mutual respect once symbolized by the radiant rainbow of cups are now under strain or possibly shattered. This card reversed hints at broken dreams, disappointments, or the realization that the perceived perfect situation was an illusion or perhaps taken for granted.

It reminds us that true happiness and harmony, especially in familial or close relationships, require continuous effort, understanding, and mutual respect. When the card is reversed, it may signal that some of these foundational elements are missing or weakened. It’s a prompt to evaluate our relationships and our emotional landscape, searching for the root of discontent or dissonance.

While the imagery is a stark contrast to its upright position, it also serves as a valuable lesson. The universe often presents challenges to steer us back onto the path of genuine happiness and fulfillment, urging us to address issues rather than brush them under the carpet.

Hexagram Thirty-One/31

Hsien / Influence (Wooing)

Upper trigram: Tui The Joyous, Lake

Lower trigram: Kên Keeping Still, Mountain

Comments on the Hexagram

The name of the hexagram means “universal,” “general,” and in a figurative sense “to influence,” “to stimulate.” The upper trigram is Tui, the Joyous; the lower is Kên, Keeping still. By its persistent, quiet influence, the lower, rigid trigram stimulates the upper, weak trigram, which responds to this stimulation cheerfully and joyously. Kên, the lower trigram, is the youngest son; the upper, Tui, is the youngest daughter. Thus the universal mutual attraction between the sexes is represented. In courtship, the masculine principle must seize the initiative and place itself below the feminine principle.

Just as the first part of book 1 begins with the hexagrams of heaven and earth, the foundations of all that exists, the second part begins with the hexagrams of courtship and marriage, the foundations of all social relationships.

The Judgement

The weak element is above, the strong below; hence their powers attract each other, so that they unite. This brings about success, for all success depends on the effect of mutual attraction. By keeping still within while experiencing joy without, one can prevent the joy from going to excess and hold it within proper bounds. This is the meaning of the added admonition, “Perseverance furthers,” for it is perseverance that makes the difference between seduction and courtship; in the latter the strong man takes a position inferior to that of the weak girl and shows consideration for her. This attraction between affinities is a general law of nature. Heaven and earth attract each other and thus all creatures come into being. Through such attraction the sage influences men’s hearts, and thus the world attains peace. From the attractions they exert we can learn the nature of all beings in heaven and on earth.

The Image

A mountain with a lake on its summit is stimulated by the moisture from the lake. It has this advantage because its summit does not jut out as a peak but is sunken. The image counsels that the mind should be kept humble and free, so that it may remain receptive to good advice. People soon give up counseling a man who thinks that he knows everything better than anyone else.

Twenty-Two

Known as the “Master Builder,” the number 22 is also blessed with the intuition of the aforementioned 11, with an added gift of practical effort that gives it the ability to turn even the loftiest visions into realities. The 22 has many of the same attributes as its single-digit counterpart, the number 4 — rational thinking, methodical steps, solid structures — but with far greater instincts and people skills. This gives the Master Number 22 the power to envision a grand idea and materialize it in the real world.

But people with 22s in their Numerology chart are not magicians, they are actualizers — confident, hard workers intent on creating something of great value and meaning. Throughout a lifetime of setbacks and struggles, these people learn what it means to stay dedicated to their life purpose. Each trial is a spiritual lesson in how much one can achieve if they keep their eyes on the prize and work with the currents of the universe.

Master Numbers are so powerful that their energy must be acknowledged. Resisting the influence of the Master Number 22 usually results in idleness or a total lack of direction. These people may realize too late in life that they are unprepared and unaccomplished. However, when a person accepts and aligns with the powerful potential of the 22, then truly anything is possible.

Spell For Tomorrow – A Clean Break

(YOU CAN COPY AND PASTE ANY SPELLS POSTED TO A DOCUMENT TO PRINT AND/OR SAVE ON YOUR COMPUTER FOR PERSONAL USE ONLY. You can find the origin of the spell by clicking on the hyperlink.)

A Clean Break Source: freewitchspells.com

This is the spell you need to make a clean break from something in your life you need to be rid of. This is more for making a break from a part of your life not a specific person. You would do better with a banishing spell for that.

Sprigs of rosemary

A dry stick, as thick at your little finger at least

Black string

White string

A large pot and spoon

Black candle

White Candle

Traditionally this spell would use a gong or a large, deep bell. Since most people don’t have one, we can improvise with a big pot. If you do have a large bell, feel free to use that instead.

Use the black string to tie a sprig of rosemary at one end of the stick, and then use white to do the same at the other end. Set this down between the two candles. Light the black candle, and say out loud what you are looking to break away from. Light the white candle, and say what you’re hoping to bring into your life instead.

Hold the stick above the flames, with the black end over the black candle and the white end over the white one. Keep it high enough to not catch on fire. Hold the ends in each hand and give it a sharp snap to break in half. Don’t worry if it doesn’t break evenly. It’s not important.

Hold your hands over the flames and repeat the 2 things again. Take the pot and spoon, again between the candles, and give it 4 hard whacks to clear the energy. Your break is now made. Leave the candles to burn out. Burn the sticks if you can, or else bury them outside.

Knight of Coins – Minor Arcana Court Card

Knight of Coins Upright Meaning

This card is usually called The Knight, but in some modern decks appears as the Prince. Traditionally, this card in this suit pictures an overseer of fertility and growth. His period of ascendancy is during the quiet years between conflicts, when everybody can collaborate in raising the collective standard of living. His horse is usually huge and thickset, more suitable to pulling a plow than riding swiftly into battle. His temperament is easygoing and relaxed, he’s moving at the rate of the flow, because he knows that you can’t hurry time.

Seeing the bigger picture, like a farmer planning for the future, he doesn’t allow momentary fads or fancies to distract him, and he doesn’t take seriously those who do. One can feel his stability and dedication — he is totally responsible and even somewhat predictable when it comes to his projects. He is earthy and gentle, as simple and deep as the soil he tills and the flowers he loves.

Knight of Coins Reversed Meaning

The Knight of Coins reversed suggests that you should stop wasting energy on people who can’t appreciate you. Stop throwing good money after bad.

Cease wasting your blood, sweat and tears on enterprises dominated by people who can’t appreciate you. In this instance, you would benefit the whole situation by moving on instead of being so loyal and true.

Beith/Beth

Beith, or Beth, corresponds to the letter B in the alphabet, and is associated with the Birch tree. When this symbol is used, it is representative of new beginnings, change, release, and rebirth. In some traditions, it also has connections with purification.

Birch trees are hardy. They’ll grow just about anywhere, including on bare soil. Because they tend to grow in clusters, what may be just one or two seedlings now can be practically an entire forest in a few decades. In addition to being a sturdy sort of tree, the Birch is useful. In days gone by, it was used for infants’ cradles, and is still harvested today to make cabinets and furniture.

From a magical perspective, there are a number of uses for Birch. The branches are traditionally incorporated into the construction of a besom, and are used for the bristles. Use the white outer bark in ritual in place of paper or parchment–just be sure you only harvest the bark from a fallen Birch tree, not a living one. Ancient herbalists discovered that various parts of this tree can be used for medicinal purposes. Bark was once brewed into a tea to fight fevers, and the leaves were used alternately as a laxative and a diuretic, depending on how they were prepared.

Beith Correspondences

Mundane Aspects: When this symbol appears, it means it’s time to get rid of all those negative influences you’ve been carrying around with you. Figure out what things are bad in your life, which relationships are toxic, and find a way to leave them behind. Instead of being dragged down by the negative, focus on the positive things you have in your life, the blessings and abundance. Use these things as a focus, rather than the harmful or damaging ones.

Magical Aspects: Consider the property of renewal and rebirth, as demonstrated by the Birch. Use this as a tool for spiritual and emotional regrowth, and developing your own ability to regenerate where there has been emptiness or devastation.

Hexagram Eleven/11

Upper trigram: K'un The Receptive, Earth

Lower trigram: Ch'ien The Creative, Heaven

The Judgement

Peace. The small departs,
The great approaches.
Good fortune. Success.

The Image

Heaven and earth unite: the image of Peace.
Thus the ruler
Divides and completes the course of heaven and earth;
He furthers and regulates the gifts of heaven and earth,
And so aids the people.

Comments on the Hexagram

The Receptive, which moves downward, stands above; the Creative, which moves upward, is below. Hence their influences meet and are in harmony, so that all living things bloom and prosper. This hexagram belongs to the first month (February-March), at which time the forces of nature prepare the new spring.

The Judgement

This hexagram denotes a time in nature when heaven seems to be on earth. Heaven has placed itself beneath the earth, and so their powers unite in deep harmony. Then peace and blessing descend upon all living things.

In the world of man it is a time of social harmony; those in high places show favor to the lowly, and the lowly and inferior is an end to all feuds.

In side, at the center, in the key position, is the light principle; the dark principle is outside. Thus the light has a powerful influence, while the dark is submissive. In this way each receives its due. When the good elements of society occupy a central position and are in control, the evil elements come under their influence and change for the better. When the spirit of heaven rules in man, his animal nature also comes under its influence and takes its appropriate place.

The individual lines enter the hexagram from below and leave it again at the top. Here the small, weak, and evil elements are about to take their departure, while the great, strong, and good elements are moving up. This brings good fortune and success.

The Image

Heaven and earth are in contact and combine their influences, producing a time of universal flowering and prosperity. This stream of energy must be regulated by the ruler of men. It is done by a process of division. Thus men divide the uniform flow of time into the seasons, according to the succession of natural phenomena, and mark off infinite space by the points of the compass. In this way nature in its overwhelming profusion of phenomena is bounded and controlled. One the other hand, nature must be furthered in her productiveness. This is done by adjusting the products to the right time and the right place, which increases the natural yield. This controlling and furthering activity of man in his relation to nature is the work on nature that rewards him.

What you will need:

Your voice
Your body
1 bell (optional)

Find a quiet, private area, without distraction. Sit down in a comfortable position. Take a few, slow, deep breaths. Allow your body to become very relaxed. When you have done this, if you brought a bell, ring it seven times. Allow the last ring to resonate throughout your body. If you have something you want to say, to God or The Goddess, now would be a good time to do this. When you are finished, say this prayer or chant:

“I know there is a higher
being than me.
I am not alone.
You are with me,
Day and night.
You’ve rode the lows
And watched the heights.
If angels are real,
I’m sure to have a guardian.
I am so thankful
And so grateful for your hand.
You’ve blessed me.
You’ve fed me
You’ve quenched my thirst
And even dressed me.
A ‘man,
A ‘man,
And Blessed Be.”

When you are finished, ring the bell seven more times, to end the ceremony

Spell For Tomorrow – Black Silk Cloth Banish Spell

(YOU CAN COPY AND PASTE ANY SPELLS POSTED TO A DOCUMENT TO PRINT AND/OR SAVE ON YOUR COMPUTER FOR PERSONAL USE ONLY. You can find the origin of the spell by clicking on the hyperlink.)

Black Silk Cloth Banish Spell

This spell will help you get rid of an enemy.

Ingredients:

Wax

Black silk cloth

3 pins

3 rose thorns

Black silk ribbon

Take some wax, model a human figure as close as possible to the victim, and baptize it with the name of the person you want to strike. In doing this, focus as much as possible on your goal and visualize the victim as if he/she was present.

Take a black silk cloth and lean the wax figure on it.

At this point, you need three pins and three rose thorns. Take the pins and recite the following formula over them:

“This is the tool with which I inflict you, the most daring suffering if you (name of the victim) do not give me peace.”

The formula must be recited every time you insert a pin, in the heart, in the forehead, and in the right leg of the figurine.

Repeat the same operation with the thorns, this time reciting this other formula:

“This is the tool that is capable of inspiring repentance, may you (victim name) finally give me peace.”

The spell must be repeated for three consecutive nights and on the third night, a black candle will be lit and the wax figurine will slowly melt in its fire.

At the end of this casting, collect everything left, wrap it in the black silk cloth, and tie everything with a ribbon (also in black silk) in the shape of a cross. Throw everything into running water.
