Turning inwards is not a turning at all. Going inwards is not a going at all. Turning inwards simply means that you have been running after this desire and that, and you have been running and running and you have been coming again and again to frustration.

That each desire brings misery, that there is no fulfillment through desire. That you never reach anywhere, that contentment is impossible.

Seeing this truth, that running after desires takes you nowhere, you stop. Not that you make any effort to stop. If you make any effort to stop it is again running, in a subtle way. You are still desiring–maybe now it is desirelessness that you desire. If you are making an effort to go in, you are still going out. Any effort can only take you out, outwards.

All journeys are outward journeys, there is no inward journey. How can you journey inwards? You are already there, there is no point in going. When going stops, journeying disappears; when desiring is no more clouding your mind, you are in. This is called turning in. But it is not a turning at all, it is simply not going out.

This is the bridge that reaches the edge of the world. The lower steps below tempt those who are curious and brave to go there and embark on a dangerous journey. It bent across the sky but then did not go much further. She stood on the borderline and hesitated, and wondered where she was going. The dazzling sunlight overhead made her squint, radiating beneath the shimmering bands of light that stretched along the river, reflecting on the hill in the distance below. Of course drawing this Ogham does not mean you or someone else is going to die. Instead, look for the culmination of a phase, project, or a way of being. You have reason to recognize and celebrate a job well done, a graduation, an obstacle overcome, or a subtle shift. The end of a cycle, even if it wasn’t the best one, is worthy of recognition and celebration before we rest and prepare for the next cycle. Decadence is not to be feared — a little decadence after hard work is natural and should be enjoyed.

Six of Wands – Minor Arcana

This is a card of career victory and public acclaim. There may be an award, a certificate, a trophy, or praise for a job well done involved. This card could represent a pay raise, bonus, or promotion for good results in achieving important goal in one’s career or creative project. It can also represent a personal rather than public experience wherein one has sense of ability proven through good financial returns or praise from outside sources, as with artistic endeavors. One’s self-image may be enhanced through winning or placing well in a competition, such as one involving sports, games, art,literature, or media work. There may be a prize involved or some other recognition that is meaningful  to the person receiving it. The indication is of a well-earned victory in which the success is merited and others are aware of this. There may have been difficulties that needed to be surmounted to gain success and public recognition for outstanding performance.

Fehu – “Cattle/Wealth”

The first of the Elder Futhark, Fehu indicates prosperity and material wealth, either won or earned income. It can represent good luck, abundance and financial success in the near future.
