Your December 2020 Horoscope for Health, Love, and Success

Here’s what the planets have to say about every facet of your life in the month ahead.

It’s hard to believe that a year like 2020 — which felt like it simultaneously flew by and dragged like no other — is finally coming to a close. And now, it’s December, and a holiday season unlike anything we’ve ever experienced. While it’s *cue groan* an unprecedented time, there are some familiar themes: like every year, December is filled with an urge to reflect, celebrate, connect, and turn attention to visions of how to fill up the blank canvas that is a whole new year.

It’s unsurprising that the last month of the year features two go-getter signs. From November 21 to December 21, the confident sun makes its annual trip through gregarious, jovial, adventure-loving Sagittarius, urging people to bond in a big-hearted way while standing up and speaking out about close-held beliefs. And from December 21 to January 21, it makes its way through driven, pragmatic Capricorn, which strengthens a sense of responsibility and tradition while fueling step-by-step efforts to achieve your personal best.

Sagittarius and Capricorn seasons — the first primed for getting out of your comfort zone, the latter for taking grounded steps to achieve your loftiest goals — join together to make December a month of embracing the moment and plotting ahead. This is a season for reveling in and appreciating all that you have while training your eye on what you want to achieve moving forward, mapping it out, and committing to putting in the work to make it real.

We gather with those we love, or even in the silence of winter, to fan the flames that will sustain us in the next few months as we keep the promise of Spring and new growth in our hearts.

December 2020 Moon Details

The Full Moon for this month will occur later in the month on Wednesday, December 30th. The New Moon is earlier in the month on Monday, December 14th.

About December’s Cold Full Moon

December full moon is commonly known in the Northern Hemisphere as the Full Long Nights Moon. It takes its name from the winter solstice, which has the longest night in the year. The Full Long Nights Moon cuts a soaring trajectory through the wintery skies, in direct opposition to the low-hanging sun. This year, it is the very last full moon before the 2019 winter solstice, which makes it the Mourning Moon according to Pagan tradition. For our early Pagan ancestors this was a time of cleansing by stopping bad habits to make one stronger to service the cold winter ahead. The Algonquins called this full moon the Cold Moon, in reference to the cold light it casts upon long winter nights. Strangely enough, in certain other cultures, December’s full moon can actually be associated with warmth.

To the Deborean Clan, the Cold Moon is associated with staying in your cosy home beside a crackling fireplace, surrounded not just by physical warmth, but also the warmth of family and friends. Similarly, the Wishram tribe named December’s full moon the Winter Houses Moon. Given that it coincides with holidays like Yule, Pagans consider this the perfect time to open up your home and provide warmth to those you love, as well as to those who are most vulnerable to the cold of winter.

For those who are more inclined towards solitude, the Full Long Nights Moon provides an excellent opportunity to enjoy your cosy home in peace and quiet. Consider taking lots of restful naps under warm, fluffy comforters, or allowing yourself to lounge in bed in the mornings instead of rising immediately to work. Appropriately, the Native American Zuni tribe called December’s full moon the “Moon Where the Sun Comes Home to Rest”. This full moon is a great time for you to take a long overdue break and recharge, so that you may shine all the brighter when it comes time for you to rise again.

This period of slow restfulness is also very conducive to introspection. When you look inwards and take stock of your life during this time, try to focus on loose ends and the little things that you’ve left hanging throughout the year. As the last full moon that rises before the year draws to a close, the Full Long Nights Moon is a time of endings. Take advantage of this full moon’s energy and bring an end to tasks you’ve been meaning to do, clearing your mind so you can move forward with a clean slate.

As much as the Full Long Nights Moon may be about endings, it is also about beginnings and rebirth. The Sioux Indians’ name for December’s full moon is the “Moon When Deer Shed Their Horns”, thus beginning the process of growing new ones. The Celts, on the other hand, call it the Elder Moon. Elder is fragile and easily damaged, but it’s also full of vitality and recovers very quickly. As the Elder Moon shines upon you, allow yourself to rest and heal from everything that has hurt you over the year, and focus instead on new beginnings and promising areas of growth. This is an excellent time to start planning your New Year’s resolutions and set exciting new goals for the upcoming year.

Lady Beltane Making Her Move Back to Illinois 11/28/2020

For from now until December 6, 2020 on WOTC there will only be a Current Planetary Positions post for the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, Daily Moon Phase, and Birthday Horoscope. I am finally coming to where I belong and who I belong with after 19 years of being apart my Yang and I will be together with a stronger and dare I say more loving relationship than we had two decades ago. I will be including him in some of my posts after packing, picking up and loading the  moving truck, driving to Illinois, unloading and returning the moving truck, all to have the joy of unpacking all of mine and Star’s belongings. In a previous post I explained the steps I went through to make sure this is the right move for me, I understand with this being my 4th move in 5 months that some of you maybe asking yourself is Lady Beltane sure this will be her last move? My answer is YES it is, Mr. Beltane (until he picks his own Pagan name or an alias to use on our websites) is to paraphrase a saying we use here in the States “He is the one I pushed away.”  I cannot explain in the words we have use of today how ecstatic I am that while we were living very separate lives we were we still thought of each other often and with love and respect in our heart for the other. As we start talking again by phone over the last two months our feelings that had bee buried under a lot of rubble begin to emerge to find light and good soil to be able to continue growing and blooming.

This week I need to do posts in between packing and next week I will be doing them in between packing, and working with Mr. Beltane in the evenings. He has an ability to hear voices that have not crossed the veil into the Spirit World yet, to smell things that there is no reason for the scent, for example coffee brewing he is the only human living in the house right now and doesn’t even own a coffee maker. He is open to The Old Ways and I am sure in the not to distance future he will be join me in our coven. He will start as a novice and work his way up to stand beside me as our High Priest. How do I know this? Through a series of repeated dreams and visions when meditating. Once Star and I get settled in some I will go back to posting all 6 Custom Planetary Position posts along with the Moon Phase, Birthday horoscope, and whatever else calls to me for that day.

I ask that you understand and give me some lee way over the next couple of weeks with posts, possible coven gathering, reviewing lessons, along with answering comments and emails. I appreciate your support, caring, and understanding. WOTC and Coven Life have I believe the best group of Pagan Sisters, Brothers, and Guests from a variety of religions as readers, students, coven members, and all around great people.

Blessings for a healthy and happy week, dear ones.

Out Come of Doctor Visit and Tests

My chest x-ray showed some cloudiness in the lower right lung and my white blood cell count is high trying to fight off the pneumonia that is trying to develop. I am on antibiotics and use my nebulizer 3 to 4 times per day as I need it. The good thing is I was able to come down on the medicine that controls my central nervous system for the fibromyalgia as I am not dealing with the daily stress I had for the last 5 to 6 years with my ex-boyfriend.

The only stressor I have right now is finding a driver so I can move back to Illinois to live with the Yang to my Ying. We had dated for 1 1/2 years and than I pushed him away because of personal reasons. I am very happy to say that when I moved to Indiana and we reconnected I felt a calming peace wash over me and unconditional love fill my heart and spirit. This is the man I should have stayed with rather than spending 19 years being bullied and verbally abused. My moving date is tentatively December 5th or 6th. To be on the safe side before I said yes to moving in with my man I did 3 different tarot readings with three different kinds of decks, an Ogham reading, astrological reading for compatibility (which came out to 90%), dusted of off my pendulum and used it, my mother who really liked this man when she was alive came to me many times while I was deciding if this is the path I want telling don’t be a fool again and lose him for good, threw the runes which were favorable to our match, asked my other ancestors and Spirit Guides what they thought, talked endlessly to my sister in Germany (Sliver Sage), and last but not least a numerology combined reading. So this is the first relationship in 62 years that I have asked for opinions on whether or not this was a good match for me or not. Everything pointed to this was the right match for me at this time of my life and in the future. I’ll let you know when we pick a Handfasting date. He is not a witch yet but has always been interested in The Craft as I practice it. We are going to have a seasonal altar in our living room.

I am sorry I did not get any posts up yesterday and only some of them today. I will be back on track tomorrow.

Limited Posts Today

Greetings Sisters, Brothers, and Guests,

I have a doctor’s appointment that requires traveling to Illinois, about a 3 1/2 hour ride one way, and back. Nothing majorly wrong it is just that my fibromyalgia is out of my control again and I have to see the doctor than have a couple of tests done. I will be back late today so tomorrows’ posts might be a little late in going out to the Australia.

I leave you with something to listen to and watch both coming from youtube.com

Another Take On Sunday’s Magickal Correspondences

Calling All Wolves
Another Take On Sunday’s Magickal Correspondences

In many traditions of Paganism, days of the week are very important aspects of effective spellcasting. For example, spells to do with abundance or prosperity could be done on Thursday, because it is associated with riches and desire. When casting a spell concerning business or communication, one might prefer to work on a Wednesday due to its associations.

While not all traditions follow this rule, when you’re doing any sort of magical working, always be sure to document the day of the week you’re performing the spell.

Sunday Magical Correspondences

Sunday is associated with the colors yellow and gold, which shouldn’t be surprising – it’s the day of the sun, right? Because of this planetary association, this is a day that’s also connected to solar deities like Helios and Ra. Interestingly, in some Celtic traditions, Brighid’s day is Sunday as well.

When it comes to crystal use, Sunday is related to quartz crystals and diamonds, as well as the yellowish hues of carnelian and amber. For herbs and plants in magical workings, use marigolds, sunflowers or cinnamon.

What kind of magic is best performed on Sunday? Well, it’s a day that generally has a number of associations – agriculture, beauty, hope, victory, self-expression and creativity are all connected to this particular day. Plant or harvest something new (not just material crops, but metaphysical ones as well), create something from nothing, and prepare to win at everything.

Friday the 13th

riggatriskaidekaphobia

Do you consider Friday the 13th to be an unlucky day? If so, you might be mildly superstitious, just like many of us. According to the Stress Management Center and Phobia Institute in Asheville, North Carolina, millions of Americans are more or less afraid of Friday the 13th.

However, you need to feel more than a little uneasy about the date to be diagnosed with friggatriskaidekaphobia, an actual psychological condition marked by a disabling fear of Friday the 13th. Some people who have this disorder are even too afraid to say the words “Friday the 13th.” Others avoid flying on a plane, going to work, or even getting out of bed. Symptoms of this phobia range from mild anxiety and a nagging sense of doom to full-blown panic attacks.

The name of the phobia derives from Frigg, the Norse goddess whom Friday is named after, and triskaidekaphobia, which is Greek for the fear of 13. It’s also known as paraskevidekatriaphobia, which is based on paraskevi, the Greek word for Friday.

Which Days For More Powerful Spells

Which Days For More Powerful Spells
A Witches Daily Correspondences for Spellcasting

Some witches, mainly Wiccans I believe, do their spellwork on certain days of the week, depending on the theme of the spell. They believe that the day of the week holds a special significance to the theme of their spell.

Here are the weekly planetary correspondences. You can use these to determine which days of the week you may have better luck with the spells you are casting.

Monday: The Moon; best for emotionally based spellwork, such us attracting confidence and intuition, protection spells, clairvoyance etc..

Tuesday: Mars; great for spells to inspire passion and energy such as a spell to boost confidence. Mars is a warrior, so if you need a spiritual battle, this is the day for it. Tuesday is also a good day for protection spells.

Wednesday: Mercury; Great for communication (worldly or otherwise). Good for spells involving the granting of information. Like Willow in Buffy when she says “Reveal!”

Thursday: Jupiter; probably the best day for spell work as Jupiter is so benevolent and loves to give. All prosperity spells or luck and success spells should be done on this day (be sure to keep it with the waxing moon).

Friday: Venus. . .ahhh, sweet love. This is a day for love spells and also a good day to offer your love to the gods/goddesses of choice. As the Cure say, “Friday, I’m in Love!”

Saturday: Saturn. A restrictive energy. Good for banishing spells and ridding old energies. Binding spells are also potent on this day. Also good for focusing and developing patience (something a lot of witches don’t have). Typically, I do not do spells on Saturdays unless it is to get rid of unwanted energies or desires.

Sunday: The Sun; Truth in all matters. The sun is great for truth spells and generating warmth in your heart. If you feel that you are frigid inside and holding tons of resentment, use the Sun energy on Sundays to shine through a cloudy heart.

What is a curse, Hex, Jinx?

  • What is a curse, Hex, Jinx?
A hex is generally a spell or bewitchment. It is derived from “hexe”, a German word for “witch”, and comes from the folklore of the Pennsylvania Dutch. In folklore it can be good or bad, but now is generally known by its negative connotations. Hexes can be made for hire, with the witch being able to be paid for both inflicting a hex and for removing a hex.A jinx is the continual or repeated bad luck. It is usually the result of a fatal accident. One of the more famous jinxes comes with the Hope Diamond. In the 17th century Madame de Montespan, the mistress of King Louis XIV, owned the diamond and it is during this time that the stone is said to have become jinxed. She was believed to have conducted so called “black masses”. Over 100 years later, King Henry the XVI gave the Hope Diamond to Marie Antoinette. Ms. Antoinette loaned this piece to her friend the Princesse de Lamballe. Not only did both Princesse de Lamballe and Marie Antoinette get executed, but every other owner of the Hope Diamond has suffered a tragic demise.A curse is a malevolent spell that is purposefully done to inflict harm upon another. It has been a part of magic and alchemy since the beginning, and can also be done by Catholic priests. It is derived from “cursein”, an Anglo Saxon worse meaning “to invoke harm or evil upon”. Curses can be both spoken and written. Cursed objects can affect people with bad luck, misfortune, ill health, and even death.
