Animal Spirit Guide or Helper

Your Animal Spirit Guide comes from the deck and book Messages From Your Animal Spirit Guides by Steven D. Farmer

Dog

Your loyalty and faithfulness is misplaced by serving to many masters.

“Whom do you serve?” is the question at hand here. When you compromise your personal integrity through misguided attempts to placate others out of fear of their disapproval or to avoid up setting them, you deny your own inner authority and give away your power. You become their servant, and they, your masters. You allow this by assuming that another person or organization has greater knowledge, power, or spiritual wisdom than you, and put yourself in “less Than” position. While other may possess some of these attributes to a greater degree than you do, you can honor them as teachers — not masters.

Children may rightly look to their parents for this sort of guidance. However, as they mature, it’s appropriate that the leash to their parents’ authority stretches and is eventually severed. The human error is to continue to project this parental authority onto other people and institutions, and then either subjugate their will or act in opposition to that perceived authority. Over a number of years, you may find yourself attached to the leashes of their masters, leading you to feel fragmented and, to some degree, powerless. Instead, take off those collars, and let Spirit be your one true Master. Then you will experience true freedom.

Jera – Harvest

Jera is representative of the harvest. It indicates that we can now reap what we’ve sown and enjoy our plentiful abundance. If you don’t feel like you have many blessings, it can show that either a breakthrough is on the way, or it’s time to take stock and express gratitude for what you do have (you’ll be surprised by how much you can always list in a gratitude journal)! It also represents the life cycle and cyclic nature of Mother Earth. It cannot be reversed.

KEYWORDS: Year, conclusion, harvest, life cycle

The Moon

Keywords: Change.

Meanings: The “x” marks represent the four main phases of the moon and so you can expect changes to happen within the next 28 days. This is a particularly feminine stone and often appears in response to questions about women’s issues. The Moon rune is a messenger. It is telling you to be aware that major changes are coming to your life. Consult the runes closest to it to determine whether those changes are negative or positive.

Beith

Intention, beginnings, births, pioneer spirit

Birch (Betula spp.)

Letter: B

Well dignified: An intention with good potential. Bravery. Breaking free. Ending bad habits. Getting unstuck. The start of something good. A new way of thinking. An invention or fresh approach. The ability of getting outside yourself and fossilized modes of thinking. Breaking out of the box. Being the change instead of just talking about it.

Humans learn through mimesis, so it is only because of the brave souls willing to put their necks out for change that anything improves in the world. Beith indicates the willingness to follow through with an intention so you can change yourself and your world for the better. At first, it’s possible nobody will follow you, but Beith says you have the courage to get it done.

Every day is a new opportunity to become a better person than you were yesterday, no matter how tiny the improvement. What can you do, even if it is a tiny action or possibly inaction depending on the circumstance, to be kinder, braver, humbler, more honest with yourself, more generous, and more grateful than you were yesterday, last week, last year, or last decade?

Questions when you draw Beith:

-What’s new in your life? For now, do you perceive it/them as good, bad, or both?
-Who is the bravest person you know, in real life or otherwise, living or dead, and what you say to them if you could?
-What traits do you want to imitate when you think of a brave person?
-What was the original intention behind the three worst decisions you have ever made in your life?
-What was the original intention behind the three best decisions you have ever made in your life?

Beith ill-dignified excess: Too many ideas
Confused and contrary intentions. The need to limit ideas or prevent a bad idea from coming to fruition. Being on the bleeding edge, not understanding consequences when you hurl yourself at a thing. An idea that is destined for failure, like going on a diet or attempting to get rich quick. Bitterness when you have a great idea that everybody rejects because you are the first person to do it; being too far ahead of your time. Possibly having a misguided, too vague, or even toxic intention that you’ve refused to examine the cold light of morning. Too many good ideas — a great problem to have, but you don’t have infinite time to pursue them all. Throw some in the fire.

Beith ill-dignified dearth: Lack of ideas
Weakness, inertia, depression, sloth. Paralysis. Wanting things to change and knowing it’s not yet the right time or right place. Feeling stuck or trapped in a situation. Possibly blaming others for problems that originate from within. Needing a dialogue or to talk and/or think it out. Having no idea what to do next. Possibly the need to overcome phobias by striking at their emotional roots. Possibly the feeling that you can somehow escape dealing with your problems, sometimes at the existential level, like when an atheist contemplates suicide as a “way out”. It doesn’t work that way: just bite the bullet and figure out how to work on yourself, because the notion that you have a choice on whether to do so or not is a false one.

“Sow a thought, reap an action.
Sow an action, reap a habit.
Sow a habit, reap a character.
Sow a character, reap a destiny.”

Hexagram Sixty – Two/62

Hsiao Kuo / Lying Low

Thunder high on the Mountain, active passivity:
The Superior Person is unsurpassed in his ability to remain small.
In a time for humility, he is supremely modest.
In a time of mourning, he uplifts with somber reverence.
In a time of want, he is resourcefully frugal.

When a bird flies too high, its song is lost.
Rather than push upward now, it is best to remain below.
This will bring surprising good fortune, if you keep to your course.

SITUATION ANALYSIS:

There is no profit to striving here.
To be content with oneself is the greatest success imaginable.
The enlightened person has nothing to prove to himself or others, and thus may always operate from a position of sincerity, with no pretense or posturing.
His humility is guileless simplicity.
His mourning is selfless compassion.
His frugality is an unshakeable faith that he is but a conduit, letting what is needed flow through him to others, with no loss to himself.

The Oak King – Major Arcana

The Oak King hangs upside down by his heel, which is wedged between branches of an oak tree. He is comfortable, casual, and relaxed as he contemplates his vital role within the infinite passage of time, tracing on the ground below him the perpetual cosmic lemniscate within the circle of the year. His position reflects the infinity symbol as he anticipates the familiar cycle of change, when the Oak King transitions into the unborn infant within the womb of Mother Earth, surrendering his reign to himself as the Holly King, the Sage who will rule until the Oak King is reborn at Yule. The lemniscate shows that the God’s endless cycle of life and authority is a harmonious interaction of light and shadow, demonstrating that life itself moves through the seasons of its own, an he is the guide.

This card offers the opportunity to meditate or focus inward and determine what needs to be released to make room for what needs to be brought in, and what needs to be retained. This can be an external or internal housecleaning, deciding what is unnecessary in one’s life, what is worthy of being kept, and what is new and beneficial. Here is a time when the conscious and subconscious may communicate, discovering what is desired and what is no longer necessary in one’s life.

The matter of change is in the tenuous phase of transition, requiring thought and the willingness to let go of the outmoded in order to reach achievement in some area of life. This is the stage of determining what foundation will be laid for the future and what new venture or outlook should begin. When this card appears in a reading, one is advised to take the time to consider the various options, pull together resources, and bring everything into balance before proceeding. Just as spell materials are set on a pentacle during magic work for grounding and manifestation in the physical world, so too should one prepare for what materialize.

Meaning: Paused activity, transition, meditation, weighing options, inner peace, patience, deciding what changes to make, self-sacrifices for gains.

Prompt Words: Introspection, inner peace.

Animal Spirit Guide or Helper

Chimpanzee

“Use both your intuition and your intellect to solve the problem or get answers to your questions”

When your intuition and intellect are in harmonious accord with each other, there’s no problem that you can’t resolve. The combination emerges as creative intelligence, an elegant blend of your capacity for reasoning coupled with a deep trust in your gut feelings. In the flow of thought and action that results in resolving your question or problem this way, you may surprise yourself as to how simple and effective the answer really is.

Your intuition is actually a constellation of physical cues that response the subtle body language, voice intonations, and energetic quality of the people or situations around you, often felt in your gut but not confined to that area. It’s your instinct communicating—an aspect of your animal nature that’s cued in to your survival and growth. You can best access this instinctual wisdom by breathing slowly and steadily and focusing your attention on the physical sensations you notice.

In addition to your intuitive feelings, get more information on which to base your choices by doing some research. Consult books, the Internet, other types of oracles, and/or discuss the issue with a friend. Or you may simply need time to contemplate it. Often when you walk away from the problem or question after intensely researching it, an unexpected insight surfaces that helps you discern the best choice among the possibilities. When there’s congruity between mind and intuition, coupled with a healthy dose of patience, you tap into the deeper wisdom of Source.

Iodhadh/Idad

I is Iodhadh, or Idad, the Yew tree. Much like the Death card in the Tarot, the Yew is known as a marker of death and endings. This evergreen tree has leaves that are attached in a spiral pattern to the twigs. Because of its unusual growth pattern, in which new growth forms inside the old, the Yew is strongly tied to rebirth and new life following death.

The Yew has no medicinal value at all, and in fact, it’s mostly toxic. Livestock have been known to die from eating the poisonous leaves. Berries can be used, but should be treated with caution. On a practical level, the wood of the Yew tree is very hard and resistant to water damage, so it was popular in the making of longbows in England.

In A Modern Herbal, Maud Grieve says of the Yew,

“No tree is more associated with the history and legends of Great Britain than the Yew. Before Christianity was introduced it was a sacred tree favoured by the Druids, who built their temples near these trees–a custom followed by the early Christians. The association of the tree with places of worship still prevails.”

Iodhadh Correspondences

Mundane Aspects: Although it may not represent spiritual death, if Iodhadh appears, it’s a sign that major transitions are coming. Be aware of them, and realize that although not all of them are bad, they will probably be pretty significant. Now’s a good time to get rid of things which are of no use to you, in order to make room for new beginnings.

Magical Aspects: Changes are on the way, so quit clinging to beliefs and ideas that no longer serve you well. Shed the old, and welcome the new. Accept change for what it is–an asset–and stop seeing it as an obstacle. Don’t fear new things, embrace them.

Tarot Card

Ace of Swords – Decision; activity

Baby Fire dragons are hatching out of a nest among the lower fire vents on the slope of a volcano. A Celtic sword visible behind the nest stands upright and has craved dragons twining around the hilt. In the background the volcano is glowing and blowing smoke. The clouds are dark with reflections of fire on them. Fire symbolizes physical, mental, and spiritual strength and action. This strength can manifest either as destructive power or regeneration, depending upon the intent and self-discipline of the individual. The sword also has much the same meaning: strength and defense, the power to liberate or wound. Potential for self-destruction is represent by the active volcano in the background. Our lives are often disrupted by cataclysmic events, which sometimes seem to destroy our lives and turn them upside down. If we can learn to harness the fire of these events, we can walk safely through the flames and come out stronger tham we were.

Divinatory Meaning: You are in the process of making decisions that will effect your life for some time. A new period or cycle of much activity is imminent. Beware of activity without thought.

One Way of How to Use Sun Phases for Spells

While almost every witch follows Moon phases for doing spells, rituals, and other magickal works. I also use the Sun phases, especially because my patron God is Ra.

Every day there is a waxing, full, waning and new phases for the Sun besides the seasonal changes. From midnight to noon is the waxing phases, the full phase is from 11:55 AM to 12:05 PM, the waning follows until sunset than at 11:55 PM to 12:05 AM is the new Sun phases. For the seasons spring is the waning, summer the new fall the waxing and winter the full. You can also go by Sabbat dates Beltane-Waning, Summer Solstice – Full, Samhain – Waning, Winter Solstice – New.

This idea and the phases may seem a bit strange to people but when the Moon is in the wrong phases for something I cannot wait to do I use the daily and if possible seasonal Sun phases. This gives me more options of what I need to do.

Card 1

Cause

Your social life may be taking over if you’ve drawn the Hermit in this first position. It’s great to be busy, but you’re redefining the term to extremes with all you’ve got going on! This card urges you to spend a little more time alone, contemplating where you’ve been in your life and where you’re headed next. Like the lantern on the card, you’re in for some serious illumination if you’re willing to fly solo for a while. Your friends will understand.

Remedy

The Chariot placed in this position asks that you consider a more assertive approach in the situation at hand. In order to build momentum in your life, get two tall orange candles, and place them on an altar (a mantle, table, or shelf works). As you light the candles, picture yourself moving through any blocks that may be present in this situation. See yourself achieving all your goals and dreams with ease. Repeat this ritual as necessary until you find success with all your endeavors.

A Thought for Today

Wishing you and yours a terrific Thursday!

Some of the Witchcraft/Magickal Correspondence for Thursday

Thursday is a Jupiter day. Here is the day of the week for prosperity, abundance, and good health. Thursday is “Thor’s day.” This Norse god gave the day his name and many of his attributes, including strength and abundance. Some suggestions for Thursday enchantments would include:

Wearing a regal and royal shade of blue to see how it affects your mood and your magic. Other colors for the day include purple and green.

Carrying a turquoise tumbled stone in your pocket to draw a little protective and healing energy your way

Incorporating honeysuckle blossoms and cinquefoil foliage into prosperity charms

Calling on Thor for abundance, or on the Roman god Jupiter for the ability to peacefully referee a fight

Adding a few oak leaves—which are sacred to these Thursday gods—to your charms to see how much better your spell works out

Casting a charm with wheat stalks for prosperity, and calling on Juno Moneta to bring wealth into your life

Baking up some whole wheat bread and blessing it for abundance. Be sure to thank the gods for your family and your good health.

CAT

“It’s time to strike out on your own and relinquish your over dependency on others.”

It’s so easy to slip into a comfortable dependency with anything or anyone, from simple dependencies that can be healthy and restorative (such as daily exercise) to destructive and hard-core dependencies, such as an addiction. You may find yourself so totally hooked on another person that you lose yourself, always turning to that individual to either make decisions for you or to validate your own. This can apply to organizations as well.

Those dependencies that you’re most familiar with are most likely born out of habit rather than conscious choice. To make truly autonomous decisions, don’t get caught up in the polarities of being dependent or independent. Instead, make those choices from a place where you maintain your own authority and power, and accept 100 percent responsibility for those choices and their consequences. Now is the time to review the people and things upon which you excessively and habitually dependent: Step back from them, identify the areas where you need to make some adjustments, and act accordingly. Practice setting boundaries, asking for what you want, and making decisions based on your own internal authority and autonomy.

Saille/Suil

S is for Saille, pronounced sahl-yeh, and is associated with the Willow tree. The Willow is often found near water, and when nourished it will grow rapidly. This symbol is representative of knowledge and spiritual growth, as well as being connected with the month of April. Willows offer protection and healing, and is closely connected to the cycles of the moon. Likewise, this symbol is tied to women’s mysteries and cycles.

In folk medicine, Willow has long been connected with healing. A tea of willow bark was used to treat fevers, rheumatism, coughs, and other inflammatory conditions. Nineteenth century scientists discovered that the Willow contains salicylic acid, a synthetic version of which is the primary pain-relief ingredient in Aspirin. In addition to its use as a healing herb, Willow was also harvested for wicker work. Baskets, small curricles, and even bee hives were constructed with this bendable, flexible wood.

Saille Correspondences

Mundane Aspects: One cannot evolve without changing. Realize that part of life’s journey includes learning lessons–even unpleasant ones. This is a natural part of the human experience.

Magical Aspects: Give yourself a break periodically, and take time to rest spiritually. Know that change will come when you are ready for it. Allow yourself some flexibility in your spiritual life as well.

General: Persistent effort will help you realize your potential for achievement.

Love: You need to behave in a compassionate fashion towards your partner.

Business: Your ideas are sound but you need to take time to thoroughly plan out your strategy for making them work.

Personal: You need to take time out to relax and enjoy life more.

However, it is a time of potential as there is a lack of yin influence. So now is the time to make those plans and get ready to put them into action. Plan thoroughly and don’t be impatient. Although Ch’ien is an auspicious hexagram, for your plans to have a lasting effect and value your motives need to be virtuous. Be compassionate when you move forward. One

THE PRIMAL FORCE

From a spiritual perspective, the 1 is the number of creation – the primal force from which all other numbers spring forth. Some say once you truly understand the place and function of this elemental number, enlightenment will be yours.

This statement doesn’t apply to a Numerologist’s perspective alone, but perhaps it’s a good place to start since the personality of the number 1 aligns nicely with its elevated spiritual symbolism.

The 1 is a doer, a powerful force that produces results.

The 1 is aggressive – a necessary trait for creating, and not allowing anything to limit its potential. The 1 is the spearhead, always in the forefront directing and leading others.

The shape of this number reflects its meaning; the 1 walks upright with pride and purpose – strong, determined, and unwavering with a specific goal in mind. The 1 is capable of turning ideas into reality – pushing obstacles aside or simply drilling right through them.

The 1 tends to have a simple, straightforward view of life, heedless of its many complexities.

An individual with the dynamic 1 trusts their ability to separate right from wrong, doesn’t waste time on abstract ideas, and rarely follows a path that isn’t in line with their result-oriented goal. The 1 is no preacher, no philosopher, spiritual explorer, nor dreamer – and certainly not an idealist. They are pragmatic, ruthless conquerors, and warriors extraordinaire. The 1 is individualistic and independent to a fault. They will attempt to force their viewpoint on you but have no desire to hear yours.

The 1 can be confrontational, jealous, and exceedingly stubborn, but also courageous and willing to try anything new (with promise) even at great risk. They have a sense of honor and responsibility that demands respect and are the first to defend injustice and hypocrisy.

Befriend a 1 and you have a friend for life.

Fortunately, the 1 has a great capacity for humor, often self-depreciating, so you can poke fun at your friend and not worry about hurt feelings. But don’t cater to them to win love or friendship or you will lose their respect. Stand up to a 1 and you may lose the fight, but you’ll gain admiration. Working for a 1 you will be pushed to the limit, abused at all hours, and incapable of living up to unreasonable expectations. But you will also become the best you can be.

When in trouble, you want a friend with a strong 1 on your side, and you won’t find a braver partner or a more dedicated protector. But, if the 1 is your enemy, you could be crushed without mercy. And be forewarned, the number 1 is the most difficult of all lovers, demanding, jealous, confrontational, and impatient.

If you have a 1 in your core numbers, your happiness and sense of satisfaction will come from your work more than any other source.

Five/5 of Pentacles – Minor Arcana

Loss; unpleasant differences

A man and a woman walk away from each other, each determined that their way or opinion is the only one. Five broken disks with pentacles lie on the ground between them. These disks symbolize life, friendship, cooperation, and/or love built between them, now destroyed because of ego and lack of compromise. Five dragons in the sky above them scream their anger and displeasure. Little dragons hiss at each other over the broken disks. The balance of the spiritual forces they have cultivated with their relationship has been upset, turning positive energies and events into negative ones.

“Create a sacred space for yourself in your home and/or place of work”

A Sacred Space is an area in your home or work place where you have some privacy for contemplation, mediation, or simply a bit of quite time to think. If this isn’t possible to do at work, it becomes even more imperative that you provide this for yourself in your home. This is a space that is your territory, whether it’s an entire room or a corner of your living room or bedroom. Place a cozy chair or pillow there, and then set up a simple altar, one that contains a few pieces that are both personal and precious. Include a candle in your space that you can light when you’re abiding there. Make your sacred space a comfortable place to hang out, with no agenda or compulsion to do anything. As Buddha said, “Don’t just do something; sit there.”

You may find all sorts of reasons or excuses not to do this, but don’t cave in to these internal objections. Make it important enough for your emotional and mental health and balance to create this kind of private spiritual sanctuary. Be sure to do nothing in particular for a good period of the time you sit there. The increasingly rapid pace of life and growing intensities in the world are even greater cause for doing so. It’s a place for solace, one where you can more closely listen to your inner voice and feelings, and tap into the Life Force inside that’s expressing itself as you.

St – Straith

This symbol, used for the sound St, is Straith (sometimes seen as Straif), the Blackthorn tree. A symbol of authority and control, the Blackthorn is connected to strength and triumph over adversity. Blackthorn is a tree (although some might argue it’s more of a really big shrub) of winter, and its berries only ripen after the first frost. White flowers appear in the spring, and the bark is black and thorny.

On a medicinal level, Blackthorn berries–sloe berries–are brewed to make a tonic (this is what Sloe Gin is made from). The tonic can be used as a laxative and/or diuretic, as well as a skin astringent. In folklore, the Blackthorn has a fairly unpleasant reputation. An English legend refers to a devastating winter as a “Blackthorn Winter.” It also represents the darker side of magic and witchcraft. Because it’s a plant that becomes hardy when all around it is dying, it is associated with the Dark Mother, the Crone aspect of the Goddess, particularly the Cailleach in some parts of Scotland and Ireland. There is also a strong connection to the Morrighan, because of Blackthorn’s association with the blood and death of warriors. In fact, in early Celtic culture, the Blackthorn was popular for its use in the cudgel shillelagh.

Straith Correspondences

Mundane Aspects: Expect the unexpected, especially when it comes to change. Your plans may be altered, or even destroyed, so plan to deal with it. The appearance of Straith often indicates the influence of external forces.

Magical Aspects: You’re at the beginning of a new journey, and there will be some surprises–possibly unpleasant ones–along the way. Overcoming these obstacles will give you strength. Realize that you–and your life–are changing.

Moon Alert

There are no restrictions to shopping or important decisions today. The Moon is in Pisces.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

As this day begins you might second-guess yourself. You might feel inadequate or slightly fearful. Life feels hard. (We all have these feelings.) Ironically, as the day progresses, you get happier and more confident! Like, what’s with that?

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

Earlier in the day, discussions with friends or members of a group might discourage you. Someone might criticize you. Discussions with romantic partners are likewise a drag. You might also be worried about your kids. Then, voila! Interactions with someone lifts your spirits! Thank gawd.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

Discussions with parents, bosses and the police are a bummer today. “Talk to the hand.” Issues at home look difficult and challenging. “Not again.” However, later in the day, you start looking good to others. They actually admire you! (Take the good with the bad.)

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

News in the media or issues related to religion, the law or politics might discourage you today. In fact, you could feel depressed and have difficult discussions with others. Fear not because as this day wears on, your optimism returns. “Good to see ya! Where ya been?”

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

Financial matters, especially related to shared property, taxes and inheritances are bleak and discouraging today. You feel broke. Life seems hard. Then, as if by magic, things look much better! People see you as a winner. (“Who was that man behind the curtain?”)

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

You have to go more than halfway when dealing with others today. Just accept this. It will be easy because people are being difficult and making things hard for you. (Yes, it’s not fair.) But later in the day, things change. Suddenly, relations with others are friendly and upbeat! Go figure.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Issues with your health, your pet or perhaps your job seem to be daunting this morning. You might feel depressed or overwhelmed. (“I can’t do this.”) But something changes. Perhaps an offer for work-related travel? Someone from another culture might boost your morale. All ends happily.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Romance is in the toilet today. Meanwhile, relations with your kids are tough. (Hissy fits and breakdowns.) Even social plans are disappointing. But as the day wears on, things shift. Suddenly you have lovely opportunities to enjoy yourself! Who knew?

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Issues related to home, family and parents are tough today. You feel overwhelmed with responsibilities, tasks and duties. Discussions with parents and authority figures are discouraging. But later in the day, possibly a visit by someone or a group, will lift your spirits. Saved by the bell!

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

The mind can create its own ease or difficulty depending on how it approaches things. Your expectations will colour the results. Perhaps that’s what’s happening today because things seem difficult. Life is discouraging. But wait! Later in the day, a transformation occurs and you’re happy!

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

Financial issues look discouraging today. Why is there always so much month left at the end of the money? Don’t let this get you down because later today, help from a family member or from another source will turn things around for you. “Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus.”

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

Today the Moon is in your sign lined up with Saturn opposing Mercury. This guarantees pessimism, discouragement and worries. Mark Twain said that most of the terrible things in his life never happened. We worry needlessly. You will see this because later in the day, your optimism and happiness will return as if a fairy godmother waved her wand. (If you believe in fairies, clap your hands!)

If Your Birthday Is Today

Actress Evangeline Lilly (1977) shares your birthday today. You are charming, sensitive and sometimes dramatic. You are generous and an excellent networker. This year is the final year of a nine-year cycle, which means it’s time to let go of people and places that are holding you back. This is not loss. This is lightening up!

Aries (March 21-April 19)

As the love front is set to remain quite calm in this period, you might find it easier to engage in all kinds of activities as you don’t have any emotional drama to weigh you down.

It’s a good time to focus on your skills and to try to improve something in the way you work or process information. It is also the right moment to deal with your time management.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

The current disposition seems to force you to shift your attention from dreaming to realistic matters, like how much money you have left for the month and on how much work you should really take up to as to sponsor that lifestyle you want to keep or embrace.

It might be the moment for you to think of the future in terms of security and of being close to family.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

While your mind might be wondering towards leisure activities, games and adventure, it seems your heart is feeling a bit lonely or unsatisfied and would really want a companion.

If you are a committed native don’t even dare to think this is not your case, because with the current dispositions most Geminis will become unhappy with their relationship and with other emotional aspects in their lives.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

It seems that the stars would recommend you to take things easier this Thursday but also to try and not take anything for granted.

It is really important that you understand the mechanisms that are behind the things happening to you and to also not accept anything right on spot. Take some time, do some research and then feel free to join any endeavor if you still feel like it.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

This Thursday will be quite a calm and peaceful day for you as you seem to unexpectedly manage your emotions and temper most of your impulses.

This means that no matter what hits you this day, or which are the things you disagree with, you will behave calmly and try to get everyone to agree with you in a diplomatic and non argumentative way.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

This Thursday you really have to keep your expectations low and all your impulses under control because it is not time to action.

There is not reason to risk entering in a project now, no matter how much you’ve documented it. You should on the other hand sit and listen to other talking about various things and try to be in the middle of the action.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

This is a good day for you to discover new connections, whether they refer to actual work or to getting to know people that work in the same field as you do.

Doing so might bring you new opportunities and even the chance to discuss with someone you look up to. Networking is important, no matter which is your field of expertise.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

This Thursday will encompass several meanings and it might give you a real sense of where you are standing.

It is a great thing for you to sit and listen to people you look up to and to identify yourself with them while also thinking of ways to put your plans into action. This is a great time to socialize and to be in the middle of the action.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

This is a great day for you to indulge yourself a bit, but only if you really have a good reason to do it. So think of something you have to celebrate, something difficult you’ve managed to overcome these past days and then give it a go for something you long wanted.

This is not a time for impulse shopping but more for purchasing things you long wanted to.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

This Thursday it is very possible for you to receive some sort of recognition of your merits and even a promotion. It is your moment in the spotlight this month so take advantage of it.

It might be the time for you to meet some important persons and even the board that runs your work place. This however doesn’t mean that you should rely on this wave of sympathy entirely.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

Today you might want to prepare yourself emotionally for all kinds of opinions and perceptions of others about your work and even about yourself.

Whether you catch people gossiping about yourself or that you are even confronted with such opinions, you should take a stand for yourself. But try to do it in a polite and unoffensive way.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

This is going to be a day of emotional discharge coming from various directions. Whether you’re feeling a bit more sensible that usual or you feel at ease to express how you feel to someone close, be sure that feelings will be in the open plan and you won’t get away without acknowledging their existence.

People being emotional will often trigger conflicts and all kinds of heated discussions so be prepared.

From watching clocks.

Stop a few,
For singing birds
And trees that sway.”

This should feel like time has slowed-down and allowed you to appreciate life more.

Tuesday’s Magick from OtherwordlyOracle.com

Tuesday’s name isn’t as easy to figure out. Tuesday is named after the Norse god of lightning, justice, and war – Tyr. When Tuesday rolls around, my mom and I say, Happy Tyr’s Day! Being that Tyr was a powerful god with strength and virility, the magick you perform on Tuesday should include: justice/legal issues, protection, binding, banishing, reversal, courage, power, passion, self esteem and confidence, and more. Not surprisingly, Tuesday is ruled by the planet Mars (also a god of war).

Tuesday’s Magick Correspondences:

Magical Intentions: legal matters, justice, protection, binding, banishing, reversal, courage, self confidence

Like Monday, it is full of male energy, but focuses on the more raw nature of the male aspect; think courage, success, war, and lust. Spell – Inviting Faries into Your Garden

Fairy Invitation Ritual

If you want to specifically invite fairies into your garden, try the following ritual.

What You’ll Need

  • flowers (see above)
  • white candle
  • the offering of quartz and cream/whole milk

What to Do
This ritual is best performed around Beltane or Midsummer but can be performed any time of the year your garden is blooming. Begin by setting your flowers, candle, and offerings on your garden or fairy altar. Light the candle and say,

“Fair fairies from near and far,
I invite you to dance in my yard.
Please stay awhile,
And brighten my garden with your smiles.
Bless these herbs and flowers,
And fill them with magical powers.
Use your magic to help them grow,
By the light of the moon’s glow.
Accept these giftes I give to thee,
By my will, so mote it be.”

Once you are finished, spend time with your altar until the candle burns low. Try and sense the fairies you have invited. You may feel the hair on your arms stand up or as if something is playing with your hair or ear. Leave the offerings on the altar overnight. Do not consume any of the food offerings you leave for the fairies. It is considered rude and disrespectful. Also, don’t expect the offering to disappear. Fairies consume the astral or spiritual essence of the offering. Leave the quartz on the altar indefinitely.

Remember to record the ritual in your BOS or on your ritual log worksheet.

Why You Did It
This spell, as mentioned, is best performed on or around Beltane or Midsummer. The reason for this is because these are two times when the veil for fairies is thin and therefore they are most likely to come out and be willing to take up residence in your garden. However, fairies can be called upon any time of the year, so feel free to use it whenever you get the change.

The candle helps to focus your spell and gives the fairies a light to use to guide them to your garden. Your candle will burn in this realm and the Otherworld, acting as a beacon to draw the fairies to you.

Fairies don’t like to be thanked, but they love to be shown respect in the form of food and shiny objects. Milk, cream, beer, or any of the other food offerings mentioned above are fairy favorites. Including such an offering in our ritual will likely attract fairies to your garden and act as a thank you without you verbally thanking them. You want to make sure the fairies are happy, otherwise, they are prone to cause mischief. The flowers are used for the same reason.

Word of Caution

Fairies are fickle and mischievous. Upsetting them can result in problems for you and anyone who steps foot on your property. Do not use pesticides in your garden. This will scare them off and keep them from coming back. Be good to the environment and animals. Fairies are creatures of the Earth; if you disrespect Her, fairies won’t come to your garden, no matter how much milk and honey you offer them.

If the fairies become unruly or you wish them to leave, tell them to. Cleanse your garden and home and tell the fairies you no longer need their assistance. If they still will not leave, try placing iron in your garden and around your home. Iron burns fairies so it’s a great deterrent.

The Sun – Major Arcana

Pages 58 and 59

Description: A courtier stands in a golden field fringed with sunflowers. The sun rises behind him.

Interpretation: After the ordeals of the Moon, the Sun is our moment of triumph, as we return from the Underworld, laden with treasure. Sol Invictus. Invincible Sun.

The solar man is a dandy and a peacock, an idler and a flaneur. He wears gold ruffles around his neck. His doublet is gold, his cloak is gold, his shoes are gold, the feather in his hat is gold. His is walking on the Field of the Cloth of Gold. Quite possibly, everything he touches turns to gold. He’s probably a courtier like Sir Francis Drake, lazy finishing he game of bowls, before taking on the Spanish Armada; or Sir Walter Raleigh back from the New World and ready to lay down his cloak to prevent his beloved queen’s feet from getting wet.

I know someone like this, to handsome he turns heads when he walks in the room. He'[s a wit and a raconteur, a traveler and adventurer. He’s the kind of person who’s just so talented and brilliant you want to hate him, but within moments you’re charmed and disarmed, in stiches at one of his anecdotes.

We mustn’t let all that glory go to our heads. For every charismatic dandy, there’s a puffed up buffoon, a popinjay, a cock of the rock. Too much sunshine and the ground is scorched, our skin blisters and burns, our tongues swell with thirst. Someone like that needs pushing in the river.

Reading: The Sun indicates a glorious outcome and happy summer days.

Ailim/Ailm

A is for Ailim, or Ailm, the Elm tree. Interestingly, this group also includes the Pine or Fir trees. These giants of the forest are symbols of perspective and height, rising above those that surround us. The Elm has a clear vision of that which surrounds it, as well as that which is approaching.

In Britain and Scotland, Elm trees grew very tall and straight, making them popular for use as a Maypole during Beltane celebrations. In addition to this, they were popular as property markers–you knew you had reached someone else’s land boundary when you crossed a line of Elm trees. Elm is flexible and bendy, so it doesn’t make a very good building material, but it does withstand water very well, so it eventually became popular for use in making flatboats and wheels. In Wales, early bowmen used the Elm in construction of longbows.

Ifin/Iphin

Io (sometimes Ph) is Ifin or Iphin, the Pine tree. This evergreen was once known as the “sweetest of wood,” and its needles can be brewed into tea which provides a good source of Vitamin C. Pine is associated with clarity of vision, and alleviation of guilt. When Ifin appears, it may indicate feelings of guilt that need to be put aside, or unresolved conflicts that need closure.

In Scotland, the Pine was a symbol of the warrior, and in some stories it was planted over the graves of those fallen in battle. More often than not, the Pine was used as a building material, and it continues to be used as such today.

Ifin Correspondences

Mundane Aspects: When this symbol appears, it means you need to stop beating yourself up over feelings of guilt. Did you say something hurtful, and damage a relationship? Now’s the time to mend it. Make amends for mistreating others, whether it was deliberate or accidental.

Magical Aspects: Use any residual bits of guilt to bring about change. To do this, you’ll need to focus on the root cause of your feelings. Once you find the source of your discomfort or anxiety, channel that negative energy, turn it around, and use it as a tool of transformation. When this symbol appears, it may also be a hint that you’re not seeing things as clearly as you should be. Put aside emotions and look at things from an intellectual standpoint–in other words, don’t let the heart rule over the brain.

Hexagram Twenty-Two/22

Name: Pi.

Keyphrase: Grace.

Formed By The Trigrams: Mountain over Fire.

General: Valuing beauty will enable you to cultivate your taste for harmony in all aspects of your life.

Love: Beauty is only skin deep – do not be taken in by superficial appearances. Look beneath the surface to see a person’s true character.

Business: If a business proposition looks too good to be true then it probably is. Make sure it’s exactly what it appears to be.

Personal: Enhance your inner beauty.

Overview: Pi is about observing natural grace and allowing that observation to inspire you to emulate it in life. Pi also is a warning not to be taken in by superficial beauty or appearance. Instead, make sure that what lies underneath the surface is more enduring. To neglect to do so may well lead to errors of judgment. Remember, the more enduring beauty is seen with the heart. Not with the eye.

GENERAL

Three of Wands – Minor Arcana

This suit, most often called “Wands” and sometimes called “Rods” or “Staves,” represents initiative, ambition, drive and desire. This is the suit of enterprise and risk-taking.
A Three in this suit symbolizes an inner balance that allows you to feel more optimistic about new endeavors you are committed to, or want to commit to. In the illustrated Tarots, the human character is standing on his balcony, watching ships leave the harbor, loaded with his goods for far-off ports, dreaming of the fortune he will reap if all goes well. Summon the optimism within you.

This energy must be patient and trusting, because he or she will have to wait some time to find out how the ships have fared. Meanwhile, a lot of resources are tied up until they return with the bounty. Only those truly confident in their ideas and abilities would undertake such a risk. This card represents the energy a person needs to take on great adventures and accomplish noble (and remunerative) deeds.

A detail that sometimes appears in the more esoteric Tarots is a winged wand with two snakes twining around it, called the Caduceus, which is Mercury’s wand. This is an ancient symbol of the healer or shaman, one who can travel between the worlds to rescue souls from death or possession. Perhaps the feeling of empowerment this card represents points to the internal mechanisms of self-healing. Perhaps it refers to the courage it takes to be an entrepreneur or an inventor, which is in itself a magical process — bringing not only opportunity for success, but also an awakening to higher potentials.

Love

The Wheel of Fortune – Major Arcana

Today, the truth is told and clears up a situation that has hung on and on. Take direct action now to clear up something that should have been handled long ago. The Wheel of Fortune selected you because you need to know that some parts of the conditions were out of your control. Some events are not the result of something you did. You do have control over how you deal with matters now.

Health

King of Wands – Major Arcana

This suit, most often called “Wands” and sometimes called “Rods” or “Staves,” represents initiative, ambition, drive and desire. This is the suit of enterprise and risk-taking.

Traditionally representing the energy of a dynamic King, this card represents the classic conquering hero. He’s a charismatic leader, entrepreneurial and ambitious, always creating new adventures. He does this because he doesn’t like to stay home or to have to “mind the store” — he gets to feeling restless and bored with the predictable. If you need a crusader, or someone to take on a big challenge, he’s your man. He needs a big assignment, and would rather lead than follow.

It could be said that he has a bit of an ego, as evidenced in his enjoyment of flattery and praise. A bit of a performer, he overachieves in situations where it will be noticed, but in private he wants to be served and adored like the head lion of a pride. A benevolent dictator, he makes life wonderful for those he loves and just the opposite for those who displease him.

Finances

Eight of Wands – Minor Arcana

This suit, most often called “Wands” and sometimes called “Rods” or “Staves,” represents initiative, ambition, drive and desire. This is the suit of enterprise and risk-taking.

The Eight of this suit often shows a flight of spears or staffs moving through the air in formation, as if a hidden group of archers had let them fly all at once. This can refer to swiftly unfolding events, whether of unintentional or intentional design. There are also versions that emphasize the agricultural cycle, paralleling the yearly crop cycle with the swift growth of children into adults with children of their own.

In each case, the emphasis is on the necessity of change and the challenge of keeping up with it. With the turning of the seasons, we are constantly being forced to deal with change and there is no remedy but to live with that in mind. So, get busy — there is no time to waste!
