SPELL TO STOP SOMEONE FROM STEALING

SPELL TO STOP SOMEONE FROM STEALING

Do this spell on a Saturday ruled by Saturn and good for Justice spells

You will need: a black candle pin olive oil sea salt candle holder

Carve the person’s name on the candle using the pin – or if you don’t know their name, carve ‘thief’.   Mix a good handful of salt with a cup of olive oil and allow the candle to soak in it for three hours.   Take the candle, wipe it down and carve out the bottom so the wick is exposed.

Stand the candle on it’s head and light the bottom wick – gaze at the flame, concentrate and say:

“Thief your deeds are no longer tolerated

It’s time for you to stop this behavior.

By my will you shall cease and restore in me a sense of peace.”

Let the candle burn out and if you can bury the stub near where the person lives or where they most commonly commit their crime – otherwise bury under a tree.

Instructions for Hand-Dipped Candles

Instructions for Hand-Dipped Candles

You need to obtain the following supplies: 2-4 pounds of Paraffin Wax (the kind
used in canning) or beeswax (which is usually expensive). Candle wick (available
at most hobby and craft stores, oils and herbs (for scent and magickal goals)
and candle dye (also expensive) or crayons (for color), wax paper, a wooden
spoon and a double broiler.

Begin by melting the wax in a double broiler. If you don’t have one, you can use
a large pot filled half full of water and a large coffee tin with the wax in it,
sitting inside the pot. Heat the water to boiling first and cut up your wax so
it will melt quickly. Once the water is boiling, turn the heat down and place
the tin of wax inside of it. Keep the water hot enough to keep the wax melted
but not so hot that the paraffin catches fire (which it has been known to do
over high heat).

While the wax to melting, stir with a wooden spoon (never use metal) & make sure it all is completely melted.

Also, while the wax is melting, mix the herbs (if more than one) in a small
bowl. After the wax is completely melted and been checked, break the crayons up
and put them into the wax. Keep stirring until all of the crayons have melted
and the color is even and smooth, with no streaks. Keep in mind that the candle
will be a shade or so lighter when dry. The more crayons – the deeper and richer
the color, so experiment.

Next, add the herbs to the wax. Empower with your energy and magickal intention while mixing the wax. Stir with the wooden spoon until it is thoroughly mixed. Next add 10-20 drops of essential oil (please, no synthetics when making candles for magickal or ritual use) to the wax until it smells strongly of the fragrance intended. Now your wax is ready.

Start with a long piece of wick – twice the size of your desired candle length
plus 3 inches (you will be making 2 candles at once). Bend the wick in the
middle and hold it by the bend. Dip the wick into the wax and then lift back
out. Getting started is the hardest because the wick will float on top of the
wax until it has enough wax on it to weigh it down. Allow it to get completely
cold between dippings when you first start.

After your candle has started to take shape you can speed up the process a
little. I keep a pan of cool water nearby and dip the candles in the water after
each dipping in the wax. While this speeds up the process a little, candle
making is a slow process but very well worth the time and energy you put into
it.

Keep dipping the candles and allowing them to cool & then dip again. When you
have achieved the proper size, hang them to dry until the wax has set but the
candles aren’t too hard. Then roll them on the wax paper to smooth out the
shape. Once the candle shape is too your liking, dip 1 or 2 more times to make
sure your candle is smooth. Trim off any excess wax to make a bottom with a
sharp knife. Cut the wick and hang your candles to dry. You are done!

SAND CANDLES

Another way to make candles which is easier and quicker is “Hippie Candles” as
they were called in the 60’s. You need to first obtain the sand – either the
beach, sandbox or you can make a box and fill it with sand just for this
purpose. Size, of course will depend on how large your candle is and how many.
First, moisten the sand enough to where you can make holes in it without the
sand falling back down into the hole. Then Dig your hole in the sand the shape
you want it. The easiest to start with are tapers but pyramids and cauldron
aren’t much harder. If you want legs on your candle – take a pencil
(unsharpened) and poke hole for the legs in the sand.

When the shape is finished – hold a piece of wick over the approximate center
and gently pour the wax into the hole, making sure the legs (if any) are filled.

Allow the wax to set, which can take a while. After testing wax to make sure it
is ready, slip fingers into the sand under the candle and gently lift it out.
Brush off any excess sand. If the legs are uneven, you can even them by sitting
the  candle in a hot frying pan. You are done!

Imbolc Fire Starters – Make Your Own Fire Starters

Imbolc Fire Starters – Make Your Own Fire Starters

By , About.com

Brighid is a goddess of fire, but let’s face it — sometimes getting a fire lit on a chilly, windy winter evening can be tricky. Put together a batch of simple fire starters to keep on hand, and you’ll be able to get a blaze going at any time!

  • A cardboard egg carton
  • Drier lint
  • Paraffin wax

Heat the paraffin wax in a double boiler. While it is melting, roll the drier lint into balls and stuff it into the cups of the cardboard egg carton. Squash it down so that you still have cardboard above the top of the lint ball. Pour the melted paraffin wax over the top of the lint-filled cardboard pockets. Allow to cool and harden. Cut the egg carton into separate cups, giving you twelve fire starters. When it’s time to start your fire, simply light one corner of a cardboard cup. The paraffin and lint will catch fire, and burn long enough to get your kindling going.

How to Make Ice Candles

How to Make Ice Candles

By , About.com

Ice candles are a lot of fun and easy to make during the winter months. Since February is traditionally a snow-filled time, at least in the northern hemisphere, why not make some ice candles to celebrate Imbolc, which is a day of candles and light?

You’ll need the following:

  • Ice
  • Paraffin wax
  • Color and scent (optional)
  • A taper candle
  • A cardboard container, like a milk carton
  • A double boiler, or two pans

Melt the paraffin wax in the double boiler. Make sure that the wax is never placed directly over the heat, or you could end up with a fire. While the wax is melting, you can prepare your candle mold. If you want to add color or scent to your candle, this is the time to add it to the melted wax.

Place the taper candle into the center of the cardboard carton. Fill the carton with ice, packing them loosely in around the taper candle. Use small chunks of ice — if they’re too large, your candle will be nothing but big holes.

Once the wax has melted completely, pour it into the container carefully, making sure that it goes around the ice evenly. As the hot wax pours in, it will melt the ice, leaving small holes in the candle. Allow the candle to cool, and then poke a hole in the bottom of the cardboard carton so the melted water can drain out (it’s a good idea to do this over a sink). Let the candle sit overnight so the wax can harden completely, and in the morning, peel back all of the cardboard container. You’ll have a complete ice candle, which you can use in ritual or for decoration.

Colored Candle Love Spell

Colored Candle Love Spell

Cast this spell to bring you closer to the one you love.

You will need a colored candle, a ballpoint pen and ten drops of rose oil. Choose the color of candle that represents the energy you want to bring into your relationship. Colors are: Green = growth, pink = romance and love, red = passion and sexuality, white = a stronger spiritual bond.

Once you select the colored candle, use the ballpoint pen to inscribe the name of the person in the relationship with you three times on the candle body. Next, write your name three times on top of the three names of the person in the relationship with you. As you rub ten drops of rose oil into the candle, say the following verse:

One drop, two drops, three,

Let the Goddess of love empower me.

Light the candle and imagine looking into the eyes of your lover. Envision the energy of the candle burning like a beacon, lighting a path between you and your lover. Now say:

Divine light of passion

Come brighten my lover and I

With your shimmering light

Tonight and every night

So be it! Blessed Be!

Let the candle burn down safely. In the morning when you wake up, say a heartfelt prayer for the Goddess of Love.

Candle magick

Candle magick is one of the simplest and easiest types of magick to cast. Any type of candle can be used for candle magic as long as it has been cleansed and consecrated prior to use.  Although beeswax candles are higher in price than store bought candles, they are more powerful because they are produced from nature.  As with any other tool, the candle made by the practitioner for a specific purpose captures the energy of the practitioner.  Many experienced Witches will use only candles they have crafted themselves because of this.

The Witches Magickal Spell for November 30th – A Spell for just a Little Nudge

A Spell for just a Little Nudge

Items You Will Need:

Lighter/Matches

Pink Candle

Musk Oil

Pin

Marjoram

Little pink or red pouch

Metal or glass place

The Spell

On the pink or red cloth write the words:

“dream of me, be with me.”

On the other side of the cloth, write:

“just a little nudge.”

Cast the circle, call the quarters, the usual.

Dim the lights, leave a candle if you wish. Take the pink candle and anoint it with musk oil while thinking ot the intended. Scratch the name of the person on one side of the candle with the pin and the word love on the other. Place the cloth in the plate with the “just a little nudge” facing down. Light the candle and affix the cloth to the plate by letting hot wax drip on the corners of the cloth.

While visualizing your desire, use the wax dripping to form the shape of a heart in the middle of the cloth. Drip some wax in the center of it and place the candle there. With the candle burning, empower a pinch of marjoram by pinching it tightly between your fingers and feeling your energy flow into it.

Sprinkle the marjoram on the place touching the heart and candle. Let the candle burn down. Crinkle the hard pool of wax as much as you can while thinking of your desire. Take the remains of the wax, marjoram and the cloth and put them in the small pouch.

Sleep with the pouch under your pillow and by using dream direction, allow yourself to dream of the intended (even if in the morning you don’t remember the dream, don’t fret, you probably dream of the person). Sleep like this for as long as needed until the day comes when you are going to meet the person.

Then take the pouch with you. When you see that person, wait until the time is right. Close your eyes and touch the pouch. Feel it’s power. Open your eyes and glance straight at your intended. Now it is time for Fate to run its course.

Making Cauldron Candles

Cauldron Candles

Cauldron candles are simple to make, a lot of fun and they look great! It’s a wonderful way to recycle left over wax.
What you will need:

Clean Sand

A Box or Container

Heat Source

Cooking Pan

Oven Mitts

Small Cauldron or mayonnaise jar

Wax

Candle Wicking

Scissors

Coffee Can or Heat Proof Jar

For wax, you can use paraffin (found in the canning section of the grocery store), beeswax (can usually be obtained cheaply from people who sell their own honey), or even left over candles.
If you don’t have candle wicking, you can buy them at craft stores or do what I do – use small twine or get the wicks out of broken candles.

Directions

Prepare the mold:  If you are using a box, line it with a plastic bag to keep the moisture from destroying the shape. Moisten the sand with water so that it will keep its shape when pressed. If you have a small cauldron, press it tightly into the wet sand until it comes to the top. You don’t want the sand over the edge, just flush. Make sure that you have at least one inch of packed sand around the top so that it will hold its shape once the wax is poured in. Carefully remove the cauldron, trying to avoid loose sand particles from falling in.  If it doesn’t hold its shape, or you are not happy with the results, redo it! Depending on the size of the container, you can make as many candle molds as you have room. If you don’t have a small cauldron, use a small mayonnaise jar or other container that will give you the basic shape. You can even use your fist for a unique looking cauldron. Kids especially love to do this. You will however need to make legs for the cauldron. Simply use your little finger or a chopsticks and press into the bottom of the mold three times. Try to keep them at the same depth, and spaced evenly around the bottom, otherwise you end up with a lopsided cauldron!
Prepare the wax:  Put the wax into the coffee can or the heatproof container into a pan of water; bring to a boil on the stove. Caution – NEVER leave melting wax unattended and if there are children involved in candle making, always supervise them! Hot wax is highly flammable and can burn skin – so be extremely careful.
If you wish to make black cauldrons, add left over black candles or wax to can. If you don’t have any, you can add black crayon pieces until you are happy with the color. Of course, if you want a different color, use the appropriate wax or crayon.
Prepare the wick:  While the wax is melting, add the wicks to the molds. Press the wicking directly into the sand at the center of the mold. You will need to drape the top of the wick over a pencil or meat skewer that is placed over the top of the mold – preferably resting on the top of the box, to keep the wick from falling into to wax once it is poured.
Pouring the wax: When the wax is completely melted, put your oven mitts on, lift the can from the water and slowly pour the wax into the molds. You don’t want the wax to cool too slowly or it may crack, so don’t put them outside or in the refrigerator to speed the process.
Finishing the candles:  Once the wax has hardened, you can just scoop the candles out of the sand.  Trim off any wick that is sticking out of the bottom with scissors and brush off any excess sand.

Candles As Tools of Magick

CANDLES AS TOOLS OF MAGICK

Select four candles in colors representing the four elements.  Try using red for

Fire, green for Earth, blue for Water and yellow for Air. Anoint the candles

with oil.  Decide on your goal or request and which candle is best for

represents the need.  (ie money, business, material objects, grounding matters

would be Earth.  Matters of sex, breaking habits, purification, protection,

strength would be Fire.  Matters of love, psychic awareness, healing,

friendships, beauty, spirituality, meditation would be Water.  Matters of

movement, travel, communication, teachings would be Air.)  Place three candles

in a triangle and put the assigned candle in the center.

Meditate on your desire as you light all four candles.  Visualize the outcome,

concentrating carefully on that which you wish to happen. Let all candles burn

go out by themselves.

For best results, do this candle burning during the hour of the day that will

aide you and during the correct Moon phases.  The Waning Moon is good for

banishing, the Waxing will help things grow.

Above all use extreme care when doing ANY form of Magick that entails the use of Fire.

Charging a candle with your personal energy

Charging a candle with your personal energy
While ritually annointing your candle, visualize a pure white beam of light coming up from Mother Earth, entering your body through the soles of your feet and another beam of white light coming down from the Universe and entering your body through the top of your head. Envision the energy of these beams of light flowing throughout your body and mingling together, finally concentrating in your hands, causing them to feel warm and to tingle. Now continue to stroke your candle until you feel the energy from your hands transfer to the candle. Your candle is now charged with your personal energy and magickal intent.

Making Ointments – The Beeswax Method

Making Ointments

The Beeswax Method

This process creates a more cosmetic ointment without a heavy, greasy feeling. It is best to prepare it with oils rather than herbs, as it is difficult to strain.

If possible, use unbleached beeswax. If not, use what you can find. Chip it with a large, sharp knife so that you can pack it into a measuring cup. Place one-fourth cup or so of beeswax in the top of a double boiler(such as a coffee can set into a larger pot of water). Add about one-fourth cup olive, hazelnut, sesame or some other vegetable oil. Stir with a wooden spoon until the wax has melted into the oil.

Remove from the heat and let cool very slightly, until it has just begun to thicken. (This step is taken so that the hot wax won’t evaporate the oils.) Now add the mixed oils to the wax. Stir thoroughly with a wooden spoon and pour into a heat-proof container. Label and store in the usual way.
