TO KEEP AWAY NIGHTMARES AND BRING PROPHETIC DREAMS
Stitch a small pillow of muslin of another light weight fabric. Create a pillow that is able to be opened by putting Velcro at one end. This allows you to “refresh” the pillow from time to time with new herbs without having to unstitch the end or make a new pillow. You may wish to cover muslin pillow with a light weight, washable “casing” as well.
Once you stitch the pillow together, fill with:
4 oz dried lavender flowers
4 oz dried sage
2 oz ground orris root-as a preservative-optional
4 oz deer’s tongue herb
2 oz cedar shavings
4 oz coltsfoot herb
4 oz sweet fern
2 oz violet
Keep dream pillow under or inside of your regular bed pillow. When storing your pillow each morning you may either leave it where it is or put it inside of a plastic bad by your bed.
Storing it in the bag will help the herbs retain their freshness for a longer period of time.
SLEEP SPELL & OIL
To Induce You will need:
1/2 oz carrier oil
12 drops bergamot
3 drops lavender
3 drops cypress
In 1/2 oz of carrier oil (I used apricot kernel, sweet almond would also be good), mix 12 drops of bergamot, 3 drops lavender and 3 drops cypress.
To increase the benefits of your sleep, apply a few drops behind your ears, spreading the excess out over your jawline. Do this immediately before bed.
This is a good oil blend for people who have trouble falling asleep at night, or for people who sleep restlessly.
DREAM PROTECTION SPELL
1 tablespoon of lemon juice (or another fruit juice)
1 tablespoon of sea salt
1 teaspoon of vegetable oil
1 light weight cauldron (a glass bowl works too)
1 piece of paper
1 black pen
2 black or red candles (1 of each works best)
Mix the lemon juice, sea salt, and oil into your cauldron. Place the cauldron in front of you on the floor. Sit comfortably and place the candles beside the cauldron (red on left, black on right.) Rip the piece of paper in half then set it aside.
Light both candles, left one first. Now close your eyes and visualize a sphere. In the middle of the sphere, visualize yourself stuck inside, trying to get out. See the black and red candles burning around you. Watch as the candles spin around you, getting faster each time they pass. Then see yourself magickally being released.
On one piece of paper, draw a picture of what you saw. On the other, write down your biggest fear.
Light both pieces of paper on fire, using the black for the written half, red for the drawing. Then throw them into your cauldron. Take the cauldron outside and pour it (paper and all) into a hole in the ground. Cover the hole with dirt. The spell is done.

A Matter of Fate
The three most notable and powerful giant maidens in Norse mythology are the Norns, which their shape-shifting wolf companions called the Hounds of Norns. These giant goddesses of fate are named Urd, who represents the past, Verdandi, who symbolizes the present, and Skuld, who signifies the future. Even Gods cannot undo what the Norns weave into the fabric of fate.
As you drift off to sleep, give yourself the suggestion that you will meet the three Norns in your dreams. Repeat to yourself:
“I will meet the Norns in my dreams and remember the answer to my question when I wake up.”
If you have something specific you want to ask them, then feel free to ask it. Otherwise, leave it up to the Norns to tell you what you need to know. When you meet the Norns in your dreams, don’t be afraid to confront them and ask them what you want to know. When you awake, be sure to make a note of any answers or information you receive in your journal.
A Winter Night’s Blessing
While preparing your bed, read this blessing aloud as part of your nightly prayers.
“When the nights are dark and stormy,
and things become hard to see,
Dear God and Goddess
Help to keep the light within me glowing,
So that no matter which way the wind’s blowing.
I am on the path I should be:
I am one of the blessed,
Who seek complete union with the divine,
I am one of the shining ones,
Whose light continues to brighten the night,
In the name of the Lord and Lady, Blessed Be!
As you shift to sleep, imagine that you are a candle the Goddess has lit. Imagine your light burning bright and shining like a star in the night sky. Every night, your light grows brighter and brighter and your life becomes filled with the joy of divine love.
The Witches Magick for Dec. 18th – Bow To The Moon Spell
In many countries, it is considered unlucky to point directly at the moon, but if you curtsey or bow to the moon, it will draw gifts and favors to you during the next moon cycle.
Use a lapis dream charm or a tumbled piece of clear quartz for this spell. Once the moon rises, go outdoors or stand where you can see the moon clearly, and bow(men) or curtsey(women) to the moon nine times. Each time you bow or curtsey, repeat:
“I curtsey(bow) to the Mother, I curtsey(bow) to the moon, please bring me abundance and bring it soon!”
Now hold the stone in your receiving hand as you say this prayer:
“Dear Goddess and God of the moon and stars
Please hear my prayer tonight
Grace me with your divine presence
So that I may dream of joyful abundance.
And help me to remember my dreams
When I awaken once again
Help me to interpret my dream messages
So that I may know their deeper meanings
Thank you, divine Lady and Lord, blessed be!”
Bow or curtsey to the moon three times. Each time you bow or curtsey, repeat:
“I curtsey(bow) to the Mother, I (curtsey)bow to the moon, please bring me abundance and bring it soon!”
When you go indoors slip the stone inside your pillowcase or put it next to your bedside as you sleep. As you drift to sleep, repeat to yourself:
“I clearly remember my dreams when I wake up and easily understand the dream messages.”
When you awaken, hold the stone in your receiving hand as you write down everything you recall from your dreams in your journal. Continue doing this until you draw abundance to you.
