Daily Feng Shui News for March 2 – ‘Fame’

Many of us will be tuned into the 86th Annual Academy Awards tonight, an event that showcases the achievements of the film industry’s best and brightest. If you would like to be thought of as a star within your own industry, then Feng Shui says that you should light up your ‘Fame’ area. This arena is located at the back center or back middle of your living space. One way to fire up the ‘Fame’ energies is to place nine small red candles in that space and light them whenever you want to heat up your recognition factor. When this works for you and you receive an award, the first thing I want to hear you say is, ‘I’d like to thank Ellen –.’

D21aily Feng Shui News for Feb. 21 – ‘International Mother Language Day’

Today’s ‘International Mother Language Day,’ doesn’t use any one alphabet. In fact, a kiss on a scraped knee or a hug for setting the table can all be considered the language of the mother. But what if a serious rift develops between mother and child and a cosmic healing is required to open the door to dialogue? Feng Shui says that when there are issues between a mother and child, the mom should find a photo of the two of them in happier days. That picture then gets put into a wooden frame and positioned in the ‘Romance and Relationship’ area along with two pink candles. Every day for nine consecutive days, the mother should light the candles for a few minutes and during that time visualize only harmony and happiness between mother and child. Placing this framed image in the same ‘Relationship’ area of the child’s room will also help. After the nine days, mom can keep the photo in place but enacting the visual is no longer necessary. Soon enough, the Universe will step in to mediate and mother and child will again have the chance to play, laugh and grow together!

Daily Feng Shui News for Feb. 14th – ‘Valentine’s Day’

On Valentine’s Day you can give yourself roses in order to attract a true and lasting love. Take two pink, long-stemmed roses and remove the thorns. Place them in a white vase and position this on your bedside table. After three days, replace the roses with two new pink roses. After another three days, replace the roses again for a total of six roses in nine days. Feng Shui says that this powerful cure will attract the perfect partner into your life. If you already have one of those, then putting two pink roses in a vase in your ‘Romance/Relationship’ (far back right-hand corner) will enhance your existing relationship. Happy Valentine’s Day.

Daily Feng Shui News for Feb. 13 – ‘Madly In Love With Me Day’

A long time ago I learned an ancient self-love technique from a Balinese shaman that greatly helps to increase a sense of self-worth and esteem. This is an especially applicable tip to share on today’s ‘Madly In Love With Me Day.’ Every morning when you awake, look into your eyes in the mirror and mean it when you say to yourself, ‘I love you.’ Do this every morning for 40 straight days and you won’t believe how great you feel about yourself at the end of this entire exercise.

Daily Feng Shui News for Feb. 10 – ‘Ellen Whitehurst’s Birthday!’

It’s my birthday and I’m going to celebrate by using this Feng Shui birthday cure. I will get a red helium-filled balloon and with a new black marker bought especially for this occasion, I will write one really treasured wish on the outside of the balloon. Then I will tie it with nine inches of red ribbon and let it loose in my backyard. I will watch the balloon as it heads to the horizon, and just before it disappears I will visualize it turning into a golden orb that will now ‘feed’ the celestial dragon in the sky. That same dragon will fulfill my wish sometime before this same day next year. Happy birthday to me!

Daily Feng Shui News for Feb. 9th – ‘World Marriage Day’

If you’re a single woman and not celebrating today’s ‘World Marriage Day’ energies, then you might want to put an image, painting or a picture of a pair of pink peonies in the ‘Romance/Relationship’ area of your bedroom. This is found at the far back right-hand corner of the room. According to Feng Shui, pink peonies attract perfect partners for single, marriage-aged women. Married women beware, because this philosophy also says that this image could also give a husband a roving eye. Marriage-minded single ladies only, please.

Daily Feng Shui New for Nov. 6th – ‘Birthstone Of November’

The birthstone of November is the mystical, magical topaz. The ancient Greeks believed that this gemstone had the power to give strength, improve eyesight and make its wearer invisible in times of emergency. I suppose that getting all of those gifts from this one stone would make anyone celebrating one have a very happy birthday this month!

Daily Feng Shui Tip for Oct. 13th – ‘Chrysanthemum’

Mums the word today, as the chrysanthemum is the floral most associated with October. In Eastern philosophy the mum has long been favored, as they are said to convey so much strong yang energy that they can instantly attract fortune and luck. They also symbolize a long life of ease and durability, so anything that you want to last — be it love, success, prosperity or harmony — can be auspiciously augmented by displaying these flowers. When positioned in the ‘Fame’ area of the home or office in October, yellow chrysanthemum will bring honor, opportunity, recognition and rewards.

Feng Shui News for Aug. 23 – 'Pluto Demoted Day'

I don’t care what anyone says, Pluto will always be a full-fledged planet to me. If you feel the same, then disregard today’s ‘Pluto Demoted Day’ energies and celebrate that power of that planet. One way to invite its powerful energies of into your life is to find an image of Pluto’s glyph and then replicate it in cornmeal on the threshold of your front entryway. If your entry is a part of common property then sweep the cornmeal up after a day but if your front door faces outdoors, then just allow the cornmeal to organically blow away with the wind. This is an ancient and powerful way to invite the power of Pluto into your life.

Daily Feng Shui News for Aug 16th – "National Hug Your Boss Day"

I’m not saying you have to hug anyone on ‘National Hug Your Boss Day,’ but you should create an intention to hug someone since hugging offers so many healthy benefits. One hug can increase the amount of hemoglobin in your blood, which helps to speed healing while boosting the immune system. Some recent studies reveal that hugs can make you happier, as they’re believed to increase the amount of oxytocin, the hormone responsible for reducing anxiety and inducing a state of quiet and calm. Hugs also help produce serotonin and dopamine, two more hormones that increase happiness and lift your mood. So, whether it’s your boss or not, give someone a hug today. It literally does a body good.

Now here’s a day after my own heart, mind and soul! It’s ‘Relaxation Day,’ which must also mean it’s time for a nice long soak to wash worry, tension and anxiety down the drain. Daily Feng Shui News for Aug. 9th – 'Book Lover's Day'

On this ‘Book Lover’s Day’ I thought I might share an ancient and intuitive technique for using a book to answer any of life’s concerning questions. A South American shaman once showed me how to employ these energies in my own life, so now I’d like to take a page out of that book and share this technique with you. Whenever you have a pressing personal or professional question that you just cannot seem to find a solution to, you should first grab the first book that you see. Then sit quietly in a chair with your feet planted firmly on the ground and your back straight. Keeping the book on your lap, place your left hand atop the cover and silently ask your question. Wait a few minutes and then open the book to any page. Write down the very first sentences that you see. Those sentences will have the answer to your question contained within them. This technique has always worked well for me, especially whenever I’m moving into new chapters of my life. I hope it offers a wonderful reading experience for you too.

Feng Shui Tip for Sunday, Feb. 17th – ‘World Human Spirit Day’

It’s seems fitting on ‘World Human Spirit Day’ that I share a powerful way to energize your spirit. Both Feng Shui and vibrational healers agree that the healing color of green can cleanse and rejuvenate your Chi while raising your spirits as well. Close your eyes and imagine your entire body surrounded by a ball of clear green light. As you inhale, breathe in this light and visualize it circulating all throughout your body. When you breathe out, exhale toxins, imbalances and impurities along with anger, rage and fear. Repeat this exercise six times to make your spirit refreshed, revivified and restored. The ripple effect guarantees that you will uplift the entire world.

Daily Feng Shui Tip for Feb. 14th – ‘Happy Valentine’s Day and World Marriage Day!’

Happy Valentine’s Day and World Marriage Day! Whether you’ve recently entered a new relationship, are currently in one or hoping to find the perfect partner, you can change your love life by changing your sheets. Feng Shui considers red to be a powerful and auspicious color that will add sizzle, passion, heat and a new mate (if that’s something you’re hoping for). Just be sure not to use them every day as all that sexual energy will make it hard to get some sleep.
