Daily Feng Shui News for Feb. 10 – ‘Ellen Whitehurst’s Birthday!’

It’s my birthday and I’m going to celebrate by using this Feng Shui birthday cure. I will get a red helium-filled balloon and with a new black marker bought especially for this occasion, I will write one really treasured wish on the outside of the balloon. Then I will tie it with nine inches of red ribbon and let it loose in my backyard. I will watch the balloon as it heads to the horizon, and just before it disappears I will visualize it turning into a golden orb that will now ‘feed’ the celestial dragon in the sky. That same dragon will fulfill my wish sometime before this same day next year. Happy birthday to me!

October 22 and 23

Hi Matsur

Hi Matsur is a Japanese festival of purification and is celebrated annually at this time. Beginning on the eve of the 22nd there are torchlight processions and parades through the streets in honor of the ancient Gods. The procession ends at a sacred shrine in Kurama, where it is believed that the ancient ones return to Earth at the stroke of midnight. Prayers and invocations will be offered the following day.

Today's Tarot Card for Sept. 8 is Wheel of Fortune

Wheel of Fortune

The central theme of what is traditionally called the Wheel of Fortune card is cyclical change. The Wheel keeps on rolling, churning events in a ceaseless progression of ups and downs, either way freeing us from the past. No one can escape its cyclical action, which can feel somewhat terrifying — no matter whether we are rising or falling. When one is balanced on top there is a moment of crystal clarity, but the only part of the Wheel not going up and down is the hub, which is your eternal Self, the Source of Freedom.

Every one of us will occupy all the points on the wheel at some time or another. The cycle of the wheel is its lesson — and we can learn to take comfort in it (as we do when we celebrate our birthday). If you don’t like the look of things right now, just wait — things will change. Of course, if you do like the look of things right now, enjoy it while it lasts, because that will change too!

Happy Birthday, Leo!

Happy Birthday, Leo!

Three cheers for the bold, bright and boisterous Lion

Maria DeSimone

Maria DeSimone on the topics of leo, birthdays, astrology

It’s your birthday, Leo, and you want the world to know it! That’s right; you’re not ashamed to admit that you want to feel like the center of attention on your special day. Hey, you deserve it. After all, you spend plenty of time making others feel exceptional, so why not get some of that ego boosting goodness delivered right back atcha? Either way, you’re ready to party into the night and enjoy every drop of birthday goodness.

Pride of the Lion

Indeed, no other sign exudes love, warmth and joy the way you do, Leo. You’ve got a talent for simply being in anyone’s presence and making them tremble with instant jolts of happy.  Since you’ve also got plenty of pride, however, you do expect admiration in return. If your light beams aren’t met with appreciation or if you feel disrespected then watch out — you will roar! Also, a born leader, you prefer to rule the land — something you do quite well. Just remember to be a noble leader since you may have a tendency towards bossy bursts of superiority.

You tend to shower those you love with extravagant, impressive gifts. And when it’s your birthday, you certainly appreciate the same attention to showiness. Drama is your middle name and if there’s not a party in your honor this year, you’ll be happy to make a night on the town attending a play, concert or other fun, entertaining event. As long as you’re given plenty of attention and applause, you’ll continue to beam joy out to the world. Leo, on your birthday, there’s only one word that counts: celebration. It’s time to rejoice in YOU!

Daily Feng Shui Tip for Jan. 21 – ‘Dr. Martin Luther King’

Today commemorates the birth date of a modern day martyr, Dr. Martin Luther King. I am forever grateful to Dr. King as I remember the way he attempted to impact people who have long killed the messenger without trying to understand the message. This most special day remembers the birth of the man who dedicated his entire life promoting a message of equality, truth and fairness. Let each of us today promote peace in our own way. One of the ways we can do that is to invite peace into our lives, starting with what should be a most peaceful sanctuary, the bedroom. Using any shade of blue or green in that space is believed to heal both the spirit and the soul. From the paint on the walls to the accessories all around, try a splash of blue. And then go green. Heal you. Heal the planet. In honor of someone who tried to do exactly that. Happy birthday, Dr. King. I share your dream.

Blessings To All My Wonderful Family & Friends On This Beautiful Thursday!

Good Thursday morning, my dearest of friends! How are you doing today? I hope fine. It is beautiful here today. We have a coating of snow on the ground. The sun is shining on it and absolutely blinds you to look out the window. It just seems like a sign from the Goddess that each of our days will now be getting brighter and brighter.

I do need to let you know something. We will have to get off the site early today. The weather service around here issued a blizzard warning for us Christmas night, we all laughed. I mean really a blizzard warning for Kentucky, sure. Well, we are laughing out the other end now. We had a blizzard, the winds around here got up to 70 mph. It was one heck of a storm. Anyway, you all know we are located out in the boonies. We have several old, large trees around our building. One of those old, large trees got blowed over. Thankfully a younger tree caught it and the guys have it braced up were it won’t come through the building. But I have been on the phone this morning trying to get someone out here ASAP! I got in touch with a company that said they would be here around 1:00. So when they show up to cut the tree, we will have to leave the building.  I asked them how long it would take and they said it depends on how big the tree is. I am going to send the rest of the ladies home. Myself and some of the guys are going to stay here to  make sure nothing bad happens. Heck if it does, I don’t know what we are going to do about it, lol!

But I thought I would let you know why we are going to disappear around one this afternoon. It is always something, I swear. I hope you have a fantastic Thursday and remember one more day to the weekend. TGIF!

Blessings to you & yours, dear friends,

Love ya,

Lady A

The Birthday of the Light

The Birthday of the Light

On the Christmas morning comics page
Two people slogging through the crowds of shoppers
pause to ask one another
“Isn’t this all supposed to be somebody’s birthday?”

Yes, it is.
This is the birthday of the Light.

Different people see the Light differently;
To many the Light is a babe in a manger,
A child destined to grow into a great teacher and healer,
Bringing the light of love to a world lost in darkness.

To others the light is the light of freedom,
Seen in the miracle of a lamp burning
Far longer than its meager supply of oil should have lasted
After the conquerors were driven from the Temple.

And still others celebrate winter sunlight
Bringing the primise of springtime
And reminding us to look at endings
As opportunities for new beginnings.

But even though we see the light differently
And hold different days in this season sacred to it,
Let us all look into the light together
To see opportunities for new beginnings
For a world of freedom and healing and love.

Yahoo! It’s The Weekend Finally! Wishing All My Dear Friends A Very Happy Saturday!

Goooood Saturday Morning, dearies! How are you doing this morning? Me? Much, much better! I feel like a bird that has been sprung from a cage. I know the people around me have great intentions. But damn, I was getting to feel smothered. Don’t do this, don’t do that, sit down, you can’t walk that far. I was getting ready to ask permission to go to the bathroom, lol!

Yesterday, I told them I was extremely grateful for everything they had done for me. But it was time, we all get back to normal. I know when I overdo and I will stop and sit down. Please leave me alone and let me get back up on my feet. I thought there for a moment they were going to spoon feed me, gee! When I get back to 100% I plan on throwing them a thank you party. I figure it is the least I can do. They all have been super and you couldn’t ask for a better bunch of friends.

I also have to thank you for having patience with us. It seems like everything has gotten screwed up and you hung in there with us. You are a super bunch of friends also. Anyone else would have said, “the heck with them. I’m going some place else.” But you didn’t. You had faith in us. Thank you for that. I know I have said it a thousand times but I feel I owe the entire world a great big hug and kiss. So here goes………..

Your Weekly Pet Horoscopes for May 29th

Aries

While I’ve always been in love with the sound of my own voice, I’m taking this to a whole new level this week. I’ll be making sounds just because I can, but also to get your attention. Let’s face it, I love to have my ego stroked and if making a noise gets me more attention then I’ll be right into it. The only problem is that I’m not particularly smart about this, so only reward me when it’s deserved.

Taurus

When my birthday month came to an end last week I began another year of going around the block again, except that for me the aging process is accelerated. As I get older my health needs change and I need you to keep up with them. Whether it’s by going on line or talking to my vet, find out what I need as I age. I want to be around for a long time, but I also want to keep healthy and agile.

Gemini

With my birthday month now well underway, it’s time to look at how we’re going to celebrate. I won’t say no to a new toy or some treats, but what I really need are those annual updates that are easier to remember at this time of year and that you’re making a commitment to my future. I can’t make the new resolutions that you might make when you have your birthday, so I need you to make them for me.

Cancer

If I had my way I’d be turning into a bit of a sloth, moving when I want to, which chances are isn’t that much. This is a changeable time of year as far as the seasons go, but while the environment might change what I’ll be seeking won’t. When it’s hot expect to find me lounging in the shade while seeking out the warmest spot to laze away some happy hours when it gets cold outside.

Leo

So long as I’m in the thick of things and I can see what’s going on, then I’ll be happy. I’ll have a healthy sense of curiosity for anyone that comes to the door, comes over to visit and if there’s not a lot happening at my place, I’ll be looking over or through the fence to see what the neighbours are up to. I’m not exactly nosey, just interested in all the facets of life going on around me and all those interesting smells.

Virgo

Any chance I get this week to impress or show off and I’ll be in seventh heaven, with a competitive streak running right down my back. If there are other pets in the house expect me to be first to the food, not because I’m hungry but because I want to win. This is a good time to teach me some new tricks, especially those that involve treats when I get it right or lots of ‘atta girls’ or ‘atta boys’.

Libra

I’ve had a bit of wanderlust pumping through my system for some time now, but rather than wearing off it seems that it’s here to stay. Chances are a sense of curiosity that goes with this may also be getting me into a bit of trouble, as I try and explore all the nooks and crannies I can manage to squeeze myself into. At least you won’t have to spend too much time entertaining me, as I’m more than capable of entertaining myself.

Scorpio

While I might be a creature of habit by nature, liking things to stay the same, I’m becoming a lot more open to change and no longer as fearful of new things as I once was. If you’ve tried to introduce me to new things in the past and I turned my nose up at it, then try again as I might be more receptive this time around. Though don’t take it too far, as there are some things I won’t compromise on.

Sagittarius

Just like you, I get bored of the same old same old, day after day and I’m just as much in need of variety as you are. It’s balance that will keep me happy, so mix and match things up a little for me. This would be a good time to introduce new tastes to my diet, though go for smaller sizes first. And just like you movement and keeping agile is important for me as I age, but for me exercise means having a chance to play.

Capricorn

As the focus shifts more and more to my health needs, it’s important to remember that as well as the right food, the right vaccinations and treatments I need, that I also need to have fun. If you’re looking at all my other health needs and not seeing running around and having fun as part of that package, then you’ll miss the most important part. I not only need to keep agile, but having fun has all sorts of health benefits for me.

Aquarius

While it will soon be time to start looking more closely at my health needs, that time won’t come until next week. However, there is nothing to say that you can’t get a jump start on this or that you can’t start taking some shortcuts. I’m in a mood this week for having fun and I want and need lots of playtime. It just so happens that running around and having fun is one of the best things for my health and for our bonding.

Pisces

I am fast becoming a real homebody, not only liking my routines but loving being right in the middle of family life, with the more you include me the better. This is not because I’m feeling anxious or because I need reassurance, just that it’s something that I’ll enjoy. So much so that I’m likely to be a barometer for everything that is happening in the home, for if there is something out of kilter I’ll feel it and you’ll know about it.

The Wicca Book of Days for May 15th – Mercury’s Birthday

The Wicca Book of Days for May 15th

Mercury’s Birthday

In ancient Rome, the Ides of May – May 15th – was regarded as the birthdayof Mercury and therefore as Mercury’s sacred day. It was on this date in 496 BC, that a temple was dedicated to Mercurius the divine Roman counterpart of the Greek Hermes, near the Circus Maximus and guild of merchants was established. Mercury was a patron of commerce and his birthday was especially observed by merchants, who dipped laurel branches into the God’s sacred spring and sprinkled their wares with the water, praying that they would reap handsome profits.

The Hare Moon

Wiccans dedicate the May Esbat to the “Hare Moon.” Long associated with the moon, in many cultures, the fleet-footed hare was believed by the Romans, to be a messenger-carrying creature of Mercury, and was also sacred to Venus and Cupid as a symbol of fertility and lust.

It’s my birthday, huh ha! It’s my birthday, huh ha! Did ya’ hear it’s my birthday, huh ha! I can hear the roar of the crowd now. Thank you! Thank you for that rousing round of applause! I am so full of it today, I can smell myself, lmao! I have been up since about 2:30 this morning. I guess I was excited to open all those birthday presents. Then have cake and ice cream, yeah right! What cloud am I on? I don’t know why I just haven’t been sleeping good recently. I think it has to do with that damn motion detector hubby fixed right outside the bedroom window. I start drifting off to sleep and I can sense the damn thing turn on. Sure enough, I wake up and it is on. Hubby decided to put the bulbs back in the thing. I hate to tell him, I was the one that knocked them out with the baseball bat. Don’t think I am terrible or anything but after a while you have to do something? Anything, you need your sleep!

With a toothpick holding up my eyelids, I am off to do the dailys!

Have a great one, dears!
