DECEMBER’S FULL MOON

December’s full moon is commonly known in the Northern Hemisphere as the Full Long Nights Moon. It takes its name from the winter solstice, which has the longest night in the year. The Full Long Nights Moon cuts a soaring trajectory through the wintery skies, in direct opposition to the low-hanging sun. The Algonquins called this full moon the Cold Moon, in reference to the cold light it casts upon long winter nights. Strangely enough, in certain other cultures, December’s full moon can actually be associated with warmth.

To the Deborean Clan, the Cold Moon is associated with staying in your cosy home beside a crackling fireplace, surrounded not just by physical warmth, but also the warmth of family and friends. Similarly, the Wishram tribe named December’s full moon the Winter Houses Moon. Given that it coincides with holidays like Yule, Pagans consider this the perfect time to open up your home and provide warmth to those you love, as well as to those who are most vulnerable to the cold of winter.

For those who are more inclined towards solitude, the Full Long Nights Moon provides an excellent opportunity to enjoy your cozy home in peace and quiet. Consider taking lots of restful naps under warm, fluffy comforters, or allowing yourself to lounge in bed in the mornings instead of rising immediately to work. Appropriately, the Native American Zuni tribe called December’s full moon the “Moon Where the Sun Comes Home to Rest”. This full moon is a great time for you to take a long overdue break and recharge, so that you may shine all the brighter when it comes time for you to rise again.

This period of slow restfulness is also very conducive to introspection. When you look inwards and take stock of your life during this time, try to focus on loose ends and the little things that you’ve left hanging throughout the year. As the last full moon that rises before the year draws to a close, the Full Long Nights Moon is a time of endings. Take advantage of this full moon’s energy and bring an end to tasks you’ve been meaning to do, clearing your mind so you can move forward with a clean slate.

As much as the Full Long Nights Moon may be about endings, it is also about beginnings and rebirth. The Sioux Indians’ name for December’s full moon is the “Moon When Deer Shed Their Horns”, thus beginning the process of growing new ones. The Celts, on the other hand, call it the Elder Moon. Elder is fragile and easily damaged, but it’s also full of vitality and recovers very quickly. As the Elder Moon shines upon you, allow yourself to rest and heal from everything that has hurt you over the year, and focus instead on new beginnings and promising areas of growth. This is an excellent time to start planning your New Year’s resolutions and set exciting new goals for the upcoming year.

The Sky This Week from December 1 to December 2

Venus shines at its brightest before dawn while Mars still rules the evening sky.
By Richard Talcott

Saturday, December 1
Venus appears brilliant from the time it rises a little before 4 a.m. local time until close to sunrise some three hours later. It stands about 25° above the southeastern horizon an hour before the Sun comes up. Shining at magnitude –4.9, it appears slightly brighter today than at any other time during this morning apparition. (The difference is essentially imperceptible, however — it appears less than 0.01 magnitude brighter today than it did yesterday or will tomorrow.) When viewed through a telescope this morning, Venus spans 40″ and appears one-quarter lit.

Sunday, December 2
The days of viewing Saturn in the evening sky are dwindling rapidly. You can find the ringed world about 10° high in the southwest 45 minutes after sunset. The planet shines at magnitude 0.5, more than a full magnitude brighter than any of the background stars in its host constellation, Sagittarius the Archer. Although the best views of Saturn through a telescope came earlier in this apparition, it never hurts to take a final look. This week, the planet’s disk measures 15″ across while the ring system spans 35″ and tilts 26° to our line of sight.

On Saturday, December 1, We Celebrate…..

Kencha-sai (Japan)
UNCHI-AHCHI

Themes: Spirituality; Universal Law; Mediation

Symbols: Tea; Teapots and Cups

About Unchi-achi: Presiding dutifully over the family stove is this Japanese goddess, whose name means “grandmother hearth.” From this position in the home she joins today’s festivities to warm the tea and to mediate on our behalf with the other gods and goddesses. Afterward, she returns to our homes and lives with important insights about the meaning of sacred ritual.

To Do Today: In Japan, today is a time to go to Kyoto temple and watch or participate in the ancient tea ceremony. In this culture, each movement and ingredient in the tea ceremony represents a spiritual principle or truth—all mingled into a simple, satisfying cup. This is a lovely tradition, so share a cup of tea with a friend or family member today Invoke Unchi-ahchi simply by lighting the stove. Use the stove to ignite a candle, and take the candle to wherever you’re sitting to carry the goddess’s energy to that spot. Discuss spiritual ideas, allowing this goddess to give you new insights. To increase the significance of your tea ceremony, choose the tea’s flavor according to the topic of conversation or something needed in that relationship. If discussing divination or alternative health, for example, use orange or mint, respectively. To deepen love or friendship, use lemon.

Saturday: Even the God needs to relax

Here we come to the only day of the English week which brings a Roman god to our heavenly party. The word Saturday is derived from Saturn, the god of harvest and agriculture. Buying all the food in supermarkets, we can hardly imagine how important this guy was for our distant ancestors.

In Latin, the word for Saturday is Sambata Dies, meaning the Day of Sabbath (sábado in Spanish, sabato in Italian, samedi in French). Sabbath is a Hebrew word for the Day of Rest. It was the last day of the all-in-one-week creation run. A day when the God finally had some relax, lying in the Garden of Eden and curiously waiting for what happens next.

Magical Days Of the Week – Saturday

It’s the end of the week for many of us, so Saturday – named for the god Saturn – is a good time to wrap things up. Associated with the colors black and dark purple, and the metal lead, this day is also connected to the goddess Hecate. Gemstones like Apache tear, obsidian, and hematite are all connected to Saturday’s magic, as are plants such as thyme, mullein, and the cypress tree.

When it comes to magical workings, focus on agriculture and creativity, fortune and hope, protection and banishment of negativity.

Put up a barrier to keep the unwelcome out, eliminate the things that make you miserable, and wash your hands of anything other than your hopes, dreams and goals.

Saturday’s Witchery

Saturday is a day filled with opportunities to clean up and clear out. So if you are wondering why Hecate is assigned to this day, take another look at what she symbolizes and the magick that is associated with her. That should answer the question.

Hecate was the oldest form of the Greek Triple Goddess, as she presided over heaven, the underworld, and earth. Crossroads where three roads met were especially sacred to Hecate, earning her the title of Hekate of the Three Ways. It’s interesting to note that even after the worship of other goddesses waned, ancient people still worshiped Hecate as the Queen of the Underworld and the Guardian of the Three-Way Crossroad. It was also believed that if you left her an offering of food there, she would grant you her favors. As Hecate Trivia, her triple images were often displayed at these crossroads, where she was petitioned on the full moon for positive magick and on the dark of the moon for cursing and dark magick.

While this last bit of information sounds a little ominous, keep in mind that Hecate/Hekate was known by many titles and is a shapeshifter. Her appearance could and did change often. As a dark moon goddess, her faces are many. To some she may appear as a old crone, hunched over a smoking cauldron and draped in a midnight cape. To others she may appear as a dark beautiful, mysterious, and mature woman wearing a shimmering crown. To some she may be perceived as a maiden priestess. She was called the “most lovely one,” the Great Goddess of Nature, and the Queen of the World of Spirits. This dark goddess knows her way around the earth and the underworld. All the powers of nature, life, and death are at her command.

The Moon in Libra

Diplomatic, Creative, Partnership-oriented

December 1 – December 3, 2018

By Tarot.com Staff

Before we start talking about the Libra Moon, let’s begin with a bit of information about the Moon itself. Astrologers consider the Moon a planet. It moves so quickly through the sky that it passes through each of the 12 zodiac signs every month.

When the Moon is in Libra
It doesn’t matter what your Moon sign is because for a couple of days a month, we all feel the influence of the transiting Libra Moon. When the Moon is in the accommodating sign of Libra, you will feel a little bit more focused on creating tranquility, beauty, and harmony all around you. Libra doesn’t just appreciate balance — Libra also seeks out imbalance and fixes it. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself wanting to play peacemaker during this transit!

When the Moon is in Libra you might also feel a bit like Ginger Rogers, and everyone and everything you meet is Fred Astaire. During this time of the Libra Moon, your mantra may be “grace in space.” If you meet an obstacle or encounter resistance, you’ll be able to dance like you expected it to be there. Because Libra’s natural skills are diplomacy and negotiation, the Moon in Libra gives you the ability to use charm and tact to get what you want.

New Moon in Libra
The New Moon is all about a new cycle, and the Libra New Moon is all about finding ways to reestablish balance that has been lost. Finding a sense of balance allows us to deal with life’s issues smoothly, and helps us to discover the peaceful neutral point from which clarity, common sense, and cooperation come from. Whether it’s in personal or business relationships, the influence of the Libra New Moon helps us see both sides of any story.

This may also be the time when you initiate new relationship, or get a fresh start in an ongoing one. A New Moon in Libra will gently nudge you to hit the emotional reset button and start over so that you can look to the horizon with renewed anticipation.

Full Moon in Libra
Every Full Moon is a culmination of a monthly cycle, and the social Libra Full Moon is no exception as it challenges you to manage your desire for companionship with your need for independence. Our connection to others and relationships are always at the forefront during a Full Moon so this isn’t a surprise, but it is even more noticeable during the Full Moon in Libra. Because you’ll have a heightened awareness of your emotions, you’ll have incredible clarity about any inequity in your partnerships

Magickal Applications for Saturday

Saturday, our final featured day of the week, gets its name from the Latin Dies Saturni, or “Saturn’s day.” In Old English, it was Saeturnesdaeg. The Middle English version was Saterday. Saturn, a Roman god of agriculture, was believed to have ruled the earth during an age of contentment and virtue. Saturn was a god who symbolized the passage of time and karma. He was not a harsh, judgmental god, either; he was a sower and a harvester. Interestingly enough, there is no Norse god associated with this day. It has remained under the province of Saturn. But if you think about what Saturn stood for, it does make a lot of sense.

Saturdays are traditionally days to work on protection, remove obstacles, bind troublesome or dangerous individuals and banish negativity. Saturdays are like a magickal “let’s clean house” day. Any magickal messes left lying around that need to be addressed, or any problems that need to be cleared up, are best dealt with on the day devoted to Saturn.

Saturday & The Perfect Corresponding Spell

Saturday is the sixth day of the workweek. It’s officially the weekend. Some see it as one of the luckiest days for gambling. It’s one of those days where you can do what you need around your home and relax, as well. You can take care of a little business, then, reap the rewards. It’s a really good day to do collect, courage, reap, gamble, and exercise spells.

Bean Reap Spell

Items you will need:
1 jar (any size)
1 handful of beans (any kind)
1 pinch of salt
1 pinch of parsley or other green herb
1 pinch of cinnamon

Pour your beans into the jar. Shake them around a little. Then, add a pinch of salt, green herb, and cinnamon. Close the jar lid and shake your ingredients all around in the jar. Make sure they are mixed around really well. Continue to shake the jar and say this chant three times:

“Shake, shake my jar.
I’m gonna reap my beans.
I’ve worked hard.
It’s time for my pay.
A pinch of herbs,
To sweeten the reward.
And hasten the day.”

When you are through, put the jar in a visible area, and you should get a nice reward for something you’ve worked hard for.

Celebrating Legends, Folklore & Other Spirituality 365 Days a Year for i and 2 December

Festivals of Neptune and Pietas

Mediocrity knows nothing higher than itself, but talent instantly recognizes genius.

-Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

You do ill if you praise, but worse if you censure, what you do not rightly understand.

-Leonardo Da Vinci

December 1 celebrated the festivals of Neptune and Pietas. This festival was the equivalent to the one that was held on July 23 at the temple dedicated to Neptune in the Circus Flaminus within the Campus Martius. There would have been games, a sacrifice, and, more than likely, some sort of horse and chariot race.

Pieta, a Roman Goddess who was the personification of respectful spectful duty, is often portrayed in human form and sometimes accompanied by a stork, the symbol of deferential duty. She was frequently represented on coins, which were considered to be a symbol of the reigning emperor’s virtues. Her temple was in the Circus Flaminius and later at the Forum Holitorium, where her December 1 festival was held.

It was on the 1st of December in 1750 that seven men (for a wager) buttoned themselves into the waistcoat of Mr. Edward Bright of Maldon, Essex, who had expired at the age of 29 and was considered to be the fattest man that ever lived in Britain.

On December 2, Tibetan Buddhists make their annual pilgrimage to the world’s oldest tree in what it known as Bodh Gaya. The tree was planted in 282 B.c. and is believed to be an offshoot of the Bodhi tree-the tree that the Buddha sat under when he attained enlightenment.

Helpful Hint

Usually when I’m doing a spell I use quiet music like Enya or Renaissance. It helps to set the mood of the spell.
——————————————————————————–
Helpful Hint

To remove a wart, first thing in the morning when you wake up, take saliva from your mouth and rub it onto the wart. This will gradually remove your wart, remember to say a prayer of thanks to the Goddess and God.

Kind of gives a whole new meaning to morning breath.
——————————————————————————–
Helpful Hint

I have found an interesting little spell that has helped me numerous time in the cold weather to heat up. First, visualize a glowing ball of pure energy above you (if you visualize the ball being your favorite color it helps too). Next, visualize the ball transcending into your body and stopping in the center of your torso. Then, visualize streams of the energy going off into all parts of your body.
——————————————————————————–
Helpful Hint

To invoke the beauty inside.

First go into the bathroom or a place with running water, then picture all the things that you think make you not like yourself. Picture all these things running down your arm and onto the palm of your hands. Put your hands in the water and scrub away the negative things you thought of. This will make you feel better and brings out your beauty.

Spirit Message of the Day – Remember, We Are One

THE IRISH CELTIC TRIPLE GODDESS: BRIGID

Brigid speaks: “We are the fae, and the dragon. We are the blood of the ancients and the blood of the star-seekers, woven till indivisible, yet each strand working its magick. We are enchanted and practical. We are mothers, daughters, fathers, and sons. You are the wise woman, the crone, the hag, the maiden, the light-footed innocent, the courageous mother bringing forth life from her womb. We are born into blood, and this blood within us is of our ancestors.”

“Our ancestors know that our bloods have mingled many times and that those of us who seek to distinguish ourselves from each other know not the truth. I am One. You are Me. I am You. We are One. That is the truth of the nature within you. Find the magick of the knowing. Find that which you fear and know it within your own blood and heartbeat. For that is the way to conquer all fear, all ignorance and all separation from the Mother. You are Her. She is You. And she is within you and will remain with you forever. There is nothing beyond her, and to deny her now is to deny what you are. I am Dragon. I am Fae. I am Goddess. I am human. I am all there is, and there is all in me – just as there is all in you. See this, and cease to seek separation.”

MESSAGE FOR YOU
“Finding the common areas between yourself and another very different person. Understanding that aging is part of the human process. Moving beyond conditioned fears. Understanding the truth of the other, having compassion and respect for difference, understanding of soul truths, great love. Women having children and mother issues all come up with this card makes her gracious presence felt. Work with candles, flames and keep the light going in your life. Reduce the artificial light in your life and increase the sun and moonlight, the starlight, the light from flame and candlelight. Be sure to strive for justice, as Brigid ensures that what is right and fair will indeed take place. Make an offering at a waterway (the sea, a well, a lake, or a river).”

ABOUT BRIGID
“Brigid is the great Irish Celtic triple Goddess, mother of all, Goddess of the forge, of birth, of the hearth and home, and of sacred wells and waters. Transformed by the church into a christian saint, she pre-dates her saint counterpart by some 4,000 years. She is a well of kindness and strength, the patroness of those who are going through any form of struggle to be born into another time in their lives. She carries a sword and knows that this time will be eased if you hold onto hope, and understand that this is an experience that all beings endure…but it will not last. So do not struggle, because the light is in sight and it will be warm and safe and good very soon, and you will be better off for having known the hardship you are currently experiencing.”

A Golden Opportunity – December 2018 Energy Forecast

Hello my friend,

Thank you for connecting with me in this way. Your presence is always felt and cherished.

We have so much to catch up on, so let’s get right to it . . .

A Golden Opportunity

As we enter the final month of 2018, we are being presented with a golden opportunity to heal the deepest wounds and hurts within ourselves and humanity.

2018 has been an immensely spiritual year, and is helping us anchor into our hearts and minds the profound Sacred Feminine. That divine Presence is what creates the core fiber of the divine DNA that ushers every woman, man, and child into existence.

Ancient Chinese philosophy describes this time of quickened change as a turning of the tides. The Yang, which is the old (the Masculine), has given way to the Yin, which is the new (the Feminine). They appear to be opposites, but each is essential to the raising up of the other.

Every aspect of our lives is experiencing a reverberating effect in regards to the shift that is taking place now.

For the past year, almost every Forecast I have written has highlighted the Sacred Feminine, to emphasize the importance of what is happening in our personal lives and for humanity at this time.

The last few months of every year often saturate us with the most potent qualities of that year.

The final month of 2018 brings us a golden opportunity to allow the Sacred Feminine to be fully secured forever at the forefront of our conscious and subconscious awareness, and into our hearts.

In this way, she is able to shower us and the world with ever-expanding blessings of unwavering grace, compassion, gentleness, patience, flexibility, wisdom, beauty, authentic power, creativity, abundance, acceptance, forgiveness, nurturance, fertility, accessibility, kindness, healing, and unconditional Love.

There is something we can do to better support ourselves and the world in creating a reality that allows these qualities to flourish.

For each remaining day of 2018, find a few minutes to facilitate the following:

  1. Close your eyes. Take several deep breaths to help you center, then place your right hand over your heart, and place your left hand on top of the right hand.
  2. Ask your I AM Presence/Spirit how you can support and love them throughout your day, the way she/he has supported and loved you always.
  3. Listen to the silence in between the thoughts. This is where the answers from your Spirit will begin to reveal themselves. If the mind is unable to understand or receive a direct answer, simply allow your mind to bask in the silence for a moment.
  4. Express gratitude to your mind for being willing to embrace the stillness within you.
  5. Express gratitude to your Spirit for loving you unconditionally.
  6. Open your eyes and express gratitude for each of your senses, your gifts of sight, sound, taste, touch, and smell.
  7. As you go on throughout the rest of your day, imagine periodically what it would feel like if your heart was smiling.

And that’s it!

Time to Heal

The opportunity to heal is now being fully realized in our personal lives and for all humanity.

Things that once seemed impossible to the rational mind are now becoming a normal part of life.

Healing occurs as a result of allowing ourselves to return to a state of peace.

Wherever there is peace, we can know that flow, ease, Love, wholeness, joy, creativity, and abundance will reside.

If any of the following are attached to our expectations of healing: Fixing something, getting rid of something, controlling/forcing something to happen, blaming something, hiding or denying something, not allowing ourselves to feel something—that makes it far more challenging to experience a healing.

Allowing peace to be our top priority creates an opening for lasting healing to occur.

True peace is the foundation for creating a world of unity, Love, and abundance for all.

We are seeing many countries around the world now breaking away from the old ideologies that have promoted intercultural separation and disconnection. There’s a collective priority now that is laying the foundations for a much brighter future ahead for all, rather than only for a select few.

There may be a healthy skepticism in our minds as to whether all this is really happening, because of all the separations that our minds have been conditioned to see in the world.

This is completely understandable, considering that it used to take decades or centuries before any real change became visible.

However, as things continue to evolve more quickly, it’s becoming easier to notice the changes happening all around us.

In our personal lives, the current energies are creating an opportunity for us to transcend the old stories we once created for ourselves, which prevented us from healing.

Some of these stories include:

  • Believing that we have to believe every thought we have
  • Believing that the mind needs to operate from fear and victim consciousness
  • Believing that we need the approval of someone outside of ourselves
  • Believing that we are broken and need fixing
  • Believing in lack, and not having enough
  • Believing that we are not allowed to feel our feelings
  • Believing that we are misunderstood, and that no one can understand us
  • Believing that we need something outside of ourselves to make us happy (a romantic soul partner, a certain lifestyle, a specific body type, etc.)

All of these stories, which were created by the mind out of self-protection, have the opportunity to be resolved now, so that we can return to the peace that has always been underneath it all.

Peace is who we are at our core.

As our inner stories come to the surface to be healed and resolved, it’s important to give ourselves permission to feel all of our feelings without judging ourselves.

Every thought, emotion, and feeling we have ever experienced deserves to be acknowledged and to receive our unconditional Love.

With this new awareness, imagine the opening that will take place for healing to be fully realized in our lives!

Closing Out the Year With the Violet Flame

I’d like to offer a powerful yet simple healing technique that will help to purify the mind and emotions quickly from anything that has been holding us back from living our greatest lives.

This healing technique makes powerful use of the Violet Flame, which is is one of the greatest spiritual healing tools we have available to us. It is a life-enhancing gift from the Universe—an aspect of Universal Light.

Quantum science has demonstrated that violet holds the highest frequency on the color chart spectrum. It is the point of transition to the next octave of Light vibration.

This wonderful tool lifts our vibration physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, when called upon through mantras and visualization.

This spiritual fire restores the flow of Light and energy to body, mind, and soul.

It has the power to transmute density into Light, creating a sense of Love, peace, joy, healing, flow, and ease for whoever uses it.

Its high vibration penetrates our nervous system, our heart, and our entire physical body and psyche, going straight to the root core of any imbalance we may be experiencing.

It dissolves everything that is not aligned with Divine Love.

The Violet Flame Healing Technique:

  1. For about 1 to 3 minutes, visualize yourself sitting inside of a ball of Violet Light.
  2. While visualizing this Light flowing all around and through you, keep repeating the following statement:

“I am a being of Violet Fire. I am the purity of Divine Love’s Desire.”

  1. Express gratitude for the opportunity to connect with the Violet Flame.

That’s all you have to do!

Try this for the next 21 days, and notice the shifts that begin to enter your life.

It’s a simple yet effective process you can trust to empower and expand your energies and outlook!

May the rest of your year continue to bless you with joy, Love, excellent well-being, and all the abundant gifts the Universe offers all of us daily.

Until next time,

Miraculously yours,

Emmanuel

Daily Cosmic Calendar for Saturday, December 1

The last month of 2018 begins with a fair amount of tension. The lunar orb in earthy Virgo makes its monthly polarity to Chiron in watery Pisces (3:13am) at the same moment that still retrograding Mercury retreats into the tail end of Scorpio (3:13am). Adding to the unsettled psychic atmosphere surrounding humanity right now is the last 72 hours of challenging sky configurations. Mercury attempts to assist needy earthlings on the safety, insurance and investment fronts by forming a supportive, 60-degree tie to Vesta (6:16am). Be aware of a 15-minute void lunar cycle that begins at 6:35am and concludes at 6:50am when the moon enters airy Libra. For the remainder of the day, it is wise to focus attention on improving the quality of your primary partnerships with the moon gracing the seventh sign of the zodiac. Asteroid watchers should note that Vesta enters Aquarius (12:44pm) in a cycle that lasts until February 1, 2019. This stellar celestial movement can be a strong energizer of sisterhood and fellowship gatherings.

[Note to readers: All times are calculated as Pacific Standard Time. Be sure to adjust all times according to your own local time so the alignments noted above will be exact for your location.]

Your Monthly Horoscopes for December

Claire Petulengro, Astrologer

From The Astrology Room

ARIES (March 21st-April 20th)

I’m not telling you to be selfish Aries, but what I am saying is that there comes a time in everyone’s life when you have to be a little selfish in order to convince those around you to support what you really want. There has been a difficult atmosphere in the home for too long now and dramatic actions you take to make the changes which are needed were never going to sit well with everyone. You’re turning a corner and what you decide to do with your Christmas proves this. Remember to buy a little something for those who were fifty fifty on seeing you.

TAURUS (April 21st-May 21st)

I know you are thinking you are wasting your time on trying to get a relationship to work, as it feels as if it has brought you nothing but negativity. However, you need to ask yourself if you have been asking the person concerned to change for you, or for themselves. It is the latter which will get the best results for the two of you. Talks you have in business could well end up with a contract with your name on it, which will need to be signed before Christmas. Follow your instincts, no matter what others say.

GEMINI (May 22nd-June 21st)

There is a jealous side to your nature which is coming to the fore that you really need to nip in the bud. Try to take a step back and look at the facts, instead of just the emotions, which has been the case so far. The written word can both earn and lose you money over the coming weeks. The key to your success is not believing what others tell you without seeing all the facts. Fellow Geminis link to the much-needed steam you will want to blow off over the festive period. You end this year feeling more like you again and with your future in your sights.

CANCER (June 22nd-July 23rd)

Are you buying things for the sake of it Cancer? Or should I ask if you are trying to do everything you can to avoid dealing with the real subject in question here. I know that you got yourself stuck in some unpleasant situations this year, but I also know the past is behind you. Although they were painful lessons, you did indeed learn them and take them in. An apology is coming your way which will both surprise and please you. Life is starting to feel more in your control again and not a moment too soon either.

LEO (July 24th-August 23rd)

Your ruling planet the Sun helps you to tie up the many loose ends which November left you with. You no longer worry about doing what is right for others, but you see that you are the one who is going to have to live your life and so will have to live with the decisions you make in it. Although there are a few predictable tensions over the festive period, all in all you will be pleased to see how much more mature and together certain faces around you seem to be. You’re living life again, instead of just existing my friend.

VIRGO (August 24th-September 23rd)

There has been a bit of a caught in a rut feel to your reading which has led you to lash out at those who were only trying to help and not hinder your progress. You start to feel more and more like yourself again from the 17th when you start to mix more with those that you choose to spend time with, rather than those whose company you were forced to be in. The things you write down or sign at this time can make your life a more secure place to be and can ensure you enter 2019 with the confidence you were unfortunately lacking this time last year.

LIBRA (September 24th-October 23rd)

Venus your ruling planet is going to be throwing your love life into confusion and you may want to try to hold off making all major decisions until the new year. You see, you may not realise it Libra, but what you have decided for a while now, will come as somewhat of a shock to those around you. Giving them more time is the key to getting them on board with your ideas. Children prove costly and the younger generation in general prove hard work. Knowing what guidelines and boundaries you can and should create is half the battle.

SCORPIO (October 24th-November 22nd)

I know you have felt vulnerable and not as strong as you usually do, but this is only the stars trying to make sure that what you say you want is how you really feel and not just someone else’s words and thoughts coming out of your mouth. Foreign names and even accents make this Christmas a better one than you have had in years. Talks with family help you to make your routine one with everyone’s interests more in mind. Sometimes Scorpio, it takes coming off the track to realise how easy it is to get back on it and stay on it.

SAGITTARIUS (November 23rd-December 21st)

You know you’ve got a lot of hard work to do, so why are you ignoring this fact? To put such pressures on yourself in the last month of the year is both cruel and vicious. It’s not like you want to make your life harder for yourself. Remember my friend that you have to take the first step to see the whole staircase. Try to have courage and avoid believing stories with no facts behind them over the Christmas period. Family prove hard work, but you can win them round if you admit what is really going on in your life.

CAPRICORN (December 22nd-January 20th)

You really have dived head first into a situation which the rest of the zodiac would probably never even consider. This is why you are such a diverse and memorable sign. You know that life is for living and you don’t always care what everyone else thinks of your decisions and actions. As long as you set the standards you know you want to live by, then you will be fine. Just don’t push faces you want to see onto close ones who you know don’t feel the same, or you will not leave any room for things to move forward.

AQUARIUS (January 21st-February 19th)

If you share others information with those around you then you must agree that it’s only fair if others do the same. Come on Aquarius, you have to admit to me that even though you have had a lot of dramas occur in 2018, you did not enjoy a single one of them. Try to work on the life you want to have, rather than the one you are trying to leave behind. Places you plan to visit are a sure indication of who you really want to spend your time with. Females in your life prove more problematic than usual. Be sure and ready to compliment them to win favour.

PISCES (February 20th-March 20th)

Your feelings are sure to be written all over your face so try not to mix with those you find frustrating, or it could end up making this Christmas one of your messiest yet. Money is a subject you are trying to avoid, but I know that by facing your worries before the 14th that you can and will get all of the help you need plus more. Educational areas of your life will be talked about, but I see you do not have all the information possible at your fingertips. You may have to redo something you have already done.

Your Dark Stars Horoscopes – December 2018

Jane Lyle, Astrologer

From The Astrology Room

ARIES
Unexpected news affects your holiday plans early in December, with pleasing developments due around the Solstice on 21st December. These likely involve your finances, your travel plans, or both. Generally, it’s a very newsy, gossipy, even flirty month for you. Yet with your action packed ruler, Mars, in thoughtful Pisces, you’ll be wanting and needing more time for a little peace and tranquillity. You’ll sense undercurrents and obscure developments around you. It’s hard to hold back sometimes, but others have their own agendas, so playing a waiting game will keep you out of trouble. Once Mars bounds into Aries on 1st January, you should have more energetic power to influence events or forge your own individual path ahead. Yes, some of 2018 may have seemed a bit sticky and slow, thanks to Mars retrograde. But things are changing. So why not let frustrations go, and plan to make the most of January’s fiery wonders instead?

TAURUS
Venus is back in Scorpio, stirring up your autumn thoughts. This time you may see things differently, or be able to move past what’s been blocking your path in love or financial affairs this year. Some beautiful cosmic music plays for you in the days close to the Solstice on 21st December – feelings of love and harmony are soothing and uplifting and reveal what’s truly in your heart. Your natural desire for security remains strong, but try not to cling to the old tried-and-tested formula too tightly. Fabulous things can be gradually achieved by exploring history, learning about new places, or committing to a neighbourhood project or activity of some kind now, and in the New Year. A powerful solar eclipse begins 2019, firmly underlining this important theme in your life. You can cosy up in your nest for the moment, but be aware that you can’t snuggle up under that duvet forever.

GEMINI
Cascades of lively cosmic activity in Sagittarius means that others are about to bring good news, invitations, or challenges into your December world. What you learn around the time of the Solstice, on 21st December, could be really uplifting or represent a fantastic, lucky break. Travel opportunities, foreign friends, and long-distance alliances are all positive possibilities now, and on into 2019, when luck and opportunity are inextricably linked with other people in your life. Let things come to you, and sidestep scenarios where you push hard to get your own way. You’ll see why around the time of a creative new Moon on 7th December. With Mars in Pisces aligned with deceptive Neptune in early December, you’d be wise to steer clear of dubious plots and secret strategies too. Mercury, your guiding planet, turns forward on 6th December, and is all set to begin 2019 with some stunning information. So the less you try to nail things down now, the better. Let your energy fly free!

CANCER
Magnetic Venus, warrior Mars, and the mysterious Moon’s nodes are supporting your inner nature this December, making it a time when you feel juicier, and more comfortable in your own skin. Your salted caramel sensitivity is part of your zodiac birthright, yet you tend to pour excess energy into protecting yourself and your own security. Now, however, you can relax and blossom. Perhaps you’d like to tune in to some creative ideas, travel plans or imaginative visions for the future? Your dreams will be especially vivid around the days of the Solstice, when a magical full Moon in Cancer invites you to take a dip in an ocean of inspiration. Current working partnerships, in particular, benefit from refreshing changes early in 2019, and this is an opportunity to access five star gift- wrapped guidance from within and sketch out some possibilities. And if one connection must come to an end, know that there’s something better and more constructive waiting for you.

LEO
The Sun, Jupiter, Mercury and the new Moon (7th) in jovial Sagittarius are warming up your house of creativity, children, and romance this December. Enjoy those raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, and do make a special space in your life between 19th – 22nd to tune into the universe. The Sun channels some exciting electrical energy then, and Mercury and Jupiter promise big news or important invitations for many of you too. This expansive, curious and adventurous energy is a theme during 2019 – life’s about to open up in some way, either through a new love, children, or study and travel. All you have to do is open up. With Venus still in Scorpio, you may feel like staying at home more in December – but a wider world is calling you already. Be cautious with cash though, Mars in Pisces can be confusing, and you need to check terms and conditions with extra care when shopping or paying bills online. Overall, though, your December desires will carry on through into January when you can begin to take steps towards manifesting them.

VIRGO
Mercury, your ruling planet, turns forward on 6th December, just before a creative new Moon rises in Sagittarius on the 7th. What’s been stalled or stuck in your life can now get moving, although – patience! – it’s likely to be slow at first. This more helpful than annoying, because you may have changed your mind about a number of things in recent weeks. So although there’s that end-of-the-year pressure, please don’t feel you have to commit to anything one hundred per cent just yet. There’s a big shift coming in the days around the Solstice, and what you learn then offers a whole new range of choices and opportunities in love, or connected with your home and family. Some of you will move to a new area or even a new country in 2019, while others take a wild ride through some surprising family history. Meantime, partners and longstanding friends entertain you – sharing musical, spiritual, or storytelling events with them is especially magical this month.

LIBRA
Venus travels once more through mysterious Scorpio this December, so at one level you’re reliving and reviewing September and October. Maybe you were attempting to sort out a financial dilemma then? Or were you musing on an on-off love affair or creative project? If you failed to reach a conclusion, or found others difficult to deal with, you’ll be able to make progress now, and on into the New Year. A stable full of planets in sociable Sagittarius means news and conversations are looking lively – getting out and about between 1st and 21st December puts you in touch with all sorts of fascinating information, gossip, and intrigue. After that, you’re more of a homebody. Make the most of a quiet break during the holidays, for you’ll benefit so much from time to process what’s happened (or not happened) this year. Your partnerships and alliances need refreshing, too – the need for change, energy and imagination grows clearer in January.

SCORPIO
Once again, Venus is in Scorpio enhancing your magnetism and smouldering charisma. What happened in September and October may have puzzled you, but many mysteries will be solved this month – and what remains bewildering will be clear by January. Meantime, beware of spending too much time thinking about money. You’d be better off thinking about your values, and how much certain things mean to you. What matters most to you is in celestial focus for a whole year, and it’s time to see if you’re comfortably aligned with your own true self. Ambitions have been massively important in recent years, now there’s a subtle shift happening. Your communications may become more serious, or reach out into the world in new ways. Magical insights are winging their way to you around the Solstice, plus there’s Mars in Pisces energising curiosity, travel, and educational adventures. Feed your imagination with tales of buried treasure and ancient forests. Your astonishing determination has paid off, why not give yourself a holiday from the daily grind?

SAGITTARIUS
Well, Sagittarius, you’re truly in your element this December. With the Sun, Mercury, Jupiter and a spiritual new Moon all in your sign your own lovely inner centaur gets a generous cosmic boost. And with Jupiter in Sagittarius for the next year, you’ve really got a chance to shine and develop your wise, humorous nature. Curbing restlessness and impulsive decisions is sensible though, as is awareness of boundaries, and being patient with others. If you’re eager to make changes, hold your horses! Some important news or developments during the week beginning 17th December could prompt you to rethink your current plans. Not only are the Sun and Uranus switching on all the lights in your house and heart then, but your ruling planet Jupiter links with Mercury to spark luck, news, or spontaneous travel invitations. And if you suffer from a Fear of Missing Out, relax. Your world expands further in the New Year.

CAPRICORN
Artistic, creative types and positively karmic connections are all around you this month. Enjoying some beautiful music, or wrapping up for a walk somewhere wild are also potentially inspiring now. With Saturn, your ruler, plus Pluto, in Capricorn your responsibilities and commitments are bound to be serious ones. This theme continues on into 2019 when the year kicks off with a potent solar eclipse in your sign. So you need to remember that all work and no play is never a great idea, and realise that much is still out of your control. Your own imagination and subconscious is rich and fertile, and with Jupiter there for a year you’ll realise just how much goes on beneath the surface. Connections with mysterious or spiritual people can be good for your wellbeing. And around the time when the Sun enters Capricorn at the spellbinding Winter Solstice you’ll be more tuned into your dreams and intuitions than usual. Seeing certain relationships in a new light is just one of the benefits, reawakening imaginative ideas from the past is another. Happy birthday month!

AQUARIUS
If you’ve been trying to attract someone’s attention, or galvanise others to join you in a project, you’ll finally begin to see some results this December. Maybe you’ve lost momentum, or turned away from something or somebody? Wait before slamming the door shut. Venus is moving forwards in Scorpio, and there’s a creative, flowing atmosphere when she connects with glamorous Neptune around the Solstice. You’ll also benefit from a vibrant link between the winter Sun and your modern ruler, Uranus, around the same date. Friends and associates are happy to listen to you, bringing out your very best quirks and originality this month. Meeting up with people can be uplifting, just be discerning and back off from those who leave you feeling drained. Holiday time can be full of duty and obligations, alongside joyful exchanges. So be good to yourself, you’re poised on the brink of a very interesting year of change and adventure.

PISCES
Mars in Pisces encourages you to act on your dreams. But stay grounded, for Neptune is in Pisces too and you don’t want to get lost at sea do you? Venus in watery Scorpio and the Moon’s nodes in Cancer both support your own liquid nature and emotional intelligence so you can deal with any Yuletide ghosts with courage and style. Spiritual love and beauty can arise from this Piscean pool, particularly around the time of a bewitching Solstice. And there’s more – for December brings you generous helpings of warm, optimistic Sagittarian planets. These all point the way towards your ambitions, future plans, and how you manifest things out there in the world. Remember luck is now on your side, with Jupiter favouring exploration and study in 2019. Simply avoid impulsive spending on last-minute items, and your finances should be okay too. More action on that front is needed in January, so be strategic and use your imagination and ingenuity rather than throwing money at everything.

– Mercury enters Scorpio and gives you the courage to speak your truth.

Aries MARCH 21-APRIL 19
You have a great deal of common sense; you resolve problems quickly and easily, which gains the respect from peers. But that’s with business, and when it’s about love, it’s as if the game rules have changed. Love can be exciting and frustrating, all at the same time. Be flexible.

Taurus APRIL 20-MAY 20
It may be the weekend, but if an opportunity arises for business, and something that can help boost your bank account, then your focus will quickly shift from your personal affairs to business. Venus and Uranus interact, and when Uranus is involved, things can be unpredictable.

Gemini MAY 21-JUNE 20
There’s still a lot you have to do before year’s end. With Mars in your work area, life is hectic, and you’ll need to organize your schedule to keep up with all the demands. To close off 2018, focus on priorities, budget your bank balance, and get ready for a new year.

Cancer JUNE 21-JULY 22
Venus and Uranus can present and opportunity to do something special for family. But if it costs money, then remember, no matter how much money you currently have, it’s not an endless supply, so don’t be tempted to spend more than you are comfortable with.

Leo JULY 23-AUG. 22
Saturn in your day-to-day area of productivity, interacts with Mars in your 2nd money house. Pay attention to how you spend your time and what you focus on. When it’s about money, you don’t want to be distracted.

Virgo AUG. 23-SEPT. 22
This weekend, try to de-stress from recent events. An astral interaction between Venus and Uranus can give you an opportunity to get a relationship back on track, but it’s likely you will be the one to make the first move. Reach out by starting a conversation.

Libra SEPT. 23-OCT. 22
Thanks to a connection between Venus and Uranus this weekend, there’s a chance for you to get a fresh start with relationships. The energy also can make you more impulsive than usual, so keep your spontaneity in check. Rash decisions can have long-lasting repercussions.

Scorpio OCT. 23-NOV. 21
If you find yourself constantly the one dealing with another’s crises, even if they are not your concern, it can still be unsettling. And with Venus in your sign it’s time for you to look after your own needs. Leave others to sort out their own issues.

Sagittarius NOV. 22-DEC. 21
The Sun, in your sign, interacts with motivational Mercury the communication planet and opens a doorway to learn something new, possibly about a different culture or language. Mix with friends who can offer you an intellectual challenge. When you connect with people you resonate with, your life can improve.

Capricorn DEC. 22-JAN. 19
A new opportunity for work can come through now, and luckily, you have the weekend to get prepared, because chances are, you won’t have a lot of time to do so. When opportunity knocks you need to act quickly, especially with the influence of combined Venus Uranus energy.

Aquarius JAN. 20-FEB. 18
Venus interacts with Uranus and inspires you to set goals for next year. Spend the weekend learning reviewing and learning about options that can help you progress. It may be time to try something new, it could result in you meeting interesting people and having remarkable experiences.

Pisces FEB. 19-MARCH 20
With Mars in your sign, and connecting with Saturn, you could find yourself looking for people who have substance this weekend. It’s also party season and a perfect time to go out and network. Put your best self out there; make contacts now to follow up in the new year.

Venus moves to Scorpio to join Mercury – a day to speak from your heart

Aries MARCH 21-APRIL 19

Spend the weekend learning more about some of the things that could help you progress. Don’t be afraid to try something new, it could result in you meeting interesting people and having remarkable experiences. Life’s full of opportunities that are yours for the taking.

Taurus APRIL 20-MAY 20
If you find yourself constantly the one dealing with another’s crises, even if they are not your concern, it can still be unsettling. Some people love to be in the center of a drama and thrive on it; you, on the other hand, do not. Perhaps it’s time to weigh the benefits of this kind of tumultuous association and decide to part company.

Gemini MAY 21-JUNE 20
There’s still a lot you have to do before year’s end. With Venus moving to your work area, life’s about to get hectic and you’ll need to organize your schedule to keep up with all the demands. To begin 2019 efficiently, tie up all the remaining loose ends this year. But don’t knock yourself out trying; focus on your highest priorities.

There can be changes at work, and if so, then use the weekend to think through which of the people want the best for you and which don’t. You’ll instinctively know when someone stretches the truth. Don’t expend your energy on them; use it to figure out a way you can best start working toward the career you want in a few years’ time.

Leo JULY 23-AUG. 22
This weekend can highlight what’s most important, especially when it concerns money but, since it is changeable energy, be ready to suddenly revise your plans. You thrive when you learn new things; sadly, not everyone can offer you the intellectual challenge you seek. But when you find people who fulfill your needs, your life can flourish.

Virgo AUG. 23-SEPT. 22
Don’t get caught in the holiday shopping fever madness. You may not be able to control all financial matters, but it’s wise to avoid impulsive spending. The planetary energy in your family zone this weekend can set off a long overdue dialogue that can be very freeing when you get to the bottom of a situation.

Libra SEPT. 23-OCT. 22
When you meet someone new, try to figure out if that person appreciates you as the sincere honest person you are or sees only what you have to offer. Being astute, it shouldn’t take you long. Don’t spend this weekend worrying about work. With Venus and Uranus turning their light on your love zone, prepare to enjoy a romantic encounter.

Scorpio OCT. 23-NOV. 21
No matter how much money you currently have, it’s not an endless supply. During the holidays, you might find yourself maxing out your credit cards, which could be a big mistake. With Venus moving to your sign, this is a very important time for you financially and the best choice would most likely be to aim for moderation.

Sagittarius NOV. 22-DEC. 21
This weekend, try to de-stress from recent events. The connection between Venus and Uranus can cause relationships to become unsettled, and that’s on your mind, too. All things considered, you deserve to have some fun. But be ready to face new challenges as well.

Capricorn DEC. 22-JAN. 19
Nobody comes close to having your common sense; you resolve problems quickly and easily, gaining the respect from all involved. However, as several things influence your chart now, you could find your normal logic is replaced with an emotional viewpoint when it comes to both work and family.

Aquarius JAN. 20-FEB. 18
It’s alright to do something impetuous this weekend, after all it is the holiday season, and a perfect time to go out and network. Not every moment of your life needs to be planned, where’s the fun in that! Put your best self out there on the social zone and you can make contacts now to follow up in the new year.

Pisces FEB. 19-MARCH 20
There’s a chance for you to get a fresh start with relationships during this time. The energy also can make you more impulsive than usual, so try to keep your urge for spontaneity in check. Keep in mind that rash decisions can have long-lasting repercussions

The Fool signifies one’s potential and abilities. Embarking on his journey toward self-knowledge, the Fool is at the same time adventurous and fearful, seemingly open to all possibilities, yet apparently unaware of the dangers along the way. It is a card of pure adventure. Irrational impulses, foolishness, and poor judgment are some of the negative aspects of this card. At the end of his journey the Fool has learned life’s lessons and is aware of his place in the world and is at one with himself.

Your EarthSky News for December 1: Moon and Venus

Moon and Venus December 2 to 4

In the coming mornings – December 2, 3 and 4, 2018 – look eastward before sunrise for the moon and Venus. If your sky is clear, you can’t miss them! They’re always the brightest and second-brightest celestial bodies, respectively, to light up the night sky. Plus – around now – Venus is at its maximum brightness for this morning apparition, with its greatest illuminated extent falling around December 2.

The moon and Venus are so bright and beautiful that you’ll easily spot them at morning dawn. And, if you’re willing to get up an hour or two before sunrise, you can also see the bright star Arcturus to the north (left) of the moon and Venus, and the star Spica close to Venus.

If you peered at Venus through a telescope now, you’d find it in a waxing crescent phase. That’s because Venus passed between us and the sun on October 26, and its lighted half – or day side – is still facing mostly away from us. In early December 2018, meanwhile, the moon is waning, and the phase of the waning crescent moon and waxing crescent Venus are almost identical. Both worlds are now showing us disks that are about one-quarter (25%) illuminated by sunshine. If you have a telescope, remember … you’ll get a crisper view of Venus’ phase at dawn, when this brilliant world has climbed higher above your horizon and its glare has been reduced by the breaking day.

After today, the moon’s phase will continue to wane (get smaller) as the moon falls closer to the sunrise over the next several mornings. On December 5 and 6, 2018, the thin lunar crescent will swing by the planet Mercury, though Mercury will be quite hard to spot in the glow of morning twilight. Binoculars may help. See the chart below.

The good news is that Mercury is brightening day by day and, moreover, is coming up earlier by the day. So, by the middle of December, Mercury should become a fine morning object.

As the moon’s phase wanes, Venus’ phases waxes, as this world pulls ahead of us in its smaller, faster orbit, causing its illuminated or day side to slowly turn our way.

When Venus’ disk reaches its half-lit waxing quarter phase on January 6, 2019, this planet will be at its greatest elongation of 47 degrees west of the sun.

After Venus attains this milestone in the morning sky, this planet will begin slowly but surely sinking toward the sunrise. It’ll take many months to do this, as it moves ahead of us in orbit. Venus will finally pass more or less behind the sun from Earth – at what astronomers call superior conjunction – on August 14, 2019. At that juncture, Venus will transition out of the morning sky and into evening sky.

Now back to the current month! The moon will turn new, to swing more or less between the sun and Earth, on December 7, 2018. At that time, the moon will transition from the morning to the evening sky.

Mercury and Venus are called inferior planets because they orbit the sun inside of Earth’s orbit. Although Venus is about twice Mercury’s distance from the sun, Venus is nonetheless the hotter of these two worlds. Climate does not depend on the sun alone but also on a planet’s atmosphere. Venus’ thick atmosphere creates a greenhouse effect that brings Venus’ surface temperature to 864 degrees Fahrenheit (462 degrees Celsius).

Even though the moon and Earth are virtually the same distance from the sun, the moon’s daytime temperature is much hotter, and its nighttime temperature is much colder, than here on Earth. That’s because Earth has a protective atmosphere whereas the moon has no atmosphere of significance.

Bottom line: These next several mornings – December 2 to 4, 2018 – watch for the waning crescent moon to sweep by Venus, the solar system’s hottest planet. Some of you might also catch the moon near Mercury, the solar system’s innermost planet, on December 5.

A Little Humor for Your Day

Time to Worry

Have you had your name legally changed to your craft name?
Does your craft name include the words crystal, moon or light?
Do you use a playboy bunny for your altar image of the Goddess?
Do you use a Chippendale dancer for your altar image of the God?
Have you ever blessed French fries, fried chicken, croissants or other exotic foods in ritual?
Have you ever blessed pop, coffee or other exotic beverages in ritual?
Do you believe that a banana and taco are fine representatives of the great rite on your altar?
Is your chalice a free plastic drink goblet from Las Vegas?
Have you ever used belly button lint as incense?
When you hug a tree, do you insist that the bugs that then crawl into your clothing are the tree ‘hugging back’?
Have you ever jumped over a fire nude while screaming ‘ooo ooo hot hot!’?
Have you ever jumped over a fire in a fireplace nude?
Is your sacred wand a drink stir-stick?
Have you ever tried to snort powdered incense?
Does your altar image of the Goddess include ‘several points of entry’?
Does your Goddess altar image vibrate?
Do you feel that chocolate flavored whipped cream is a valid part of the ‘Great Rite’?
Have you ever snorted ritual wine out of your nose at a joke someone made in ritual?
Have you ever spit ritual cake out at anyone in ritual?
Have you ever farted during a quiet point in ritual then tried to look innocent?
Have you ever tried to make the Great Rite a group thing?
Do you think that the original ‘Great Rite’ was actually just a really good ritual?
Have you ever used pyrotechnics (eg fireworks) for effect in ritual?
Have you never done an outdoor ritual because of the ‘bugs and icky nature’?
Would you feel some Kentucky fried chicken roasted over the ritual fire was a good and fitting offering to the Gods?
Do you feel that coffee in ritual is a right, not a privilege?
Is your offering plate a plastic Frisbee you got as a free promo?
Have you ever made incense from leftover cigarette butts?
Has your incense ever contained psychoactives just to add ‘color’ to your ritual?
Do you feel that a peppermint stick is a perfectly normal wand?
Have you ever shown up to work naked and insisted that as a pagan it is your right to do so?

Then it might be time to worry…..

Wishing You & Yours A Very Blessed & Beautiful Saturday!

Winter

Wheel of the Year

Imbolc marks the start of the year,
A time for all things new,
Winters hand now has passed,
And the skies are turning blue.

Ostara sees that daylight,
Triumphs over night,
A fertile time for all that live,
Reborn to the light.

Then we herald Beltane,
With promises of fun,
All upon the Earth rejoice,
At the flowers in the sun.
Litha is the Midsummer,
When a mighty battle starts,
The Holly King will take the crown,
And the Oak King will depart.

Lammas now or Lughnasadh,
For the harvest we give thanks,
Irish pagans, a holiday,
Now the corn is safely banked.

Mabon, the autumn equinox,
We give our thanks and praise,
For all the fruits and food we have,
To last through the winter phase.

Samhain, when the souls pass through,
On their way to the Summerland,
Remember well the departed ones,
And wave with upturned hand.

Finally we come to Yule,
Deep in winters grasp,
The snow may lay upon the ground,
But the icy hand will pass.

That’s the pagan wheel my friends,
I believe this to be true,
May your year be all you wish,
And the spirits watch over you.

In Memory Of The United States’ 41st President, George H. W. Bush

George H.W. Bush, 41st president of the United States, dies at 94

George Herbert Walker Bush died Friday at the age of 94.

George W. Bush released a statement, saying for himself and his siblings, “Jeb, Neil, Marvin, Doro, and I are saddened to announce that after 94 remarkable years, our dear Dad has died.”

“George H.W. Bush was a man of the highest character and the best dad a son or daughter could ask for,” he said. “The entire Bush family is deeply grateful for 41’s life and love, for the compassion of those who have cared and prayed for Dad, and for the condolences of our friends and fellow citizens.”

There were fears that after his wife, Barbara, died in April, Bush might die, too. He was admitted to the hospital with a blood infection on April 23, one day after the funeral for the former first lady, and remained there for 13 days. He also spent time in the hospital in May and June, but lived to be the first former president to reach the age of 94.

Bush was the patriarch of a political dynasty that included one son who served as president, another as a governor and a grandson who currently holds statewide office in Texas.
