Bath #2 for Clearing Away All Psychic Nastiness: The Vinegar Bath

General Instructions for all Baths

Once the bath is ready, sit in the tub, and completely immerse yourself seven times, allowing the mixture to flow into all body openings. (Swish it around in your mouth as well, but do not swallow it.) Stay in the tub for seven minutes, then get out, allowing the moisture on your body and hair to dry naturally.

The Vinegar Bath

Long known for its healing and curative properties, vinegar also has the capacity to slice through psychic grime, making it perfect for this bath.

Materials needed:

1   c. apple cider vinegar

1   T. salt

Add the ingredients to a warm tub of water, then stir clockwise with your index finger until well mixed.

Life As The Witch – Life Is Messy: Clean It Up

Life Is Messy: Clean It Up

Once in a while, after you have cast a spell or curse psychic residue might linger and on occasion actually get on you.  While the symptoms vary from person to person, it’s usually the blah’s that hit first. Sometimes there’s nothing more than that, but occasionally other aggravations will come to call. Common side effects include minor bouts of depression, a sudden inability to concentrate, or a state of complete and utter non-productiveness. And if you begin to experience any of those, the only solution is to get that junk off of you immediately. If you don’t, I can nearly guarantee time spent in bed nursing a cold, the flu or worse.

Fortunately, the remedy is painless, tasteless, pleasurable, and inexpensive. It involves nothing more than taking a bath. And since you probably already take a shower or bath at least once every day, nothing could be easier.

Granted, this isn’t exactly your normal sort of bath, as you’ll need to be clean before you jump in. It’s also going to be necessary to completely immerse yourself in the water several times, hair and all. And because your skin and hair must be allowed to dry naturally, you won’t be able to towel off. When compared to the possibility of having to ingest some foul-tasting medicinal concoction though, that’s a pretty small price to pay–especially considering how much better you’re going to feel.

There are several different types of baths that will handle the problem quickly and efficiently and I have posted those baths to follow. Each works equally well, so just choose the one that most appeals to you and call it good. You’ll be glad you did.

Water Magick – Magickal Baths

Magickal Baths

Most Witches partake in magickal bathing. A magickal bath is considered important for cleansing the spirit, the same way regular bathing is for cleansing the body. Magickal baths work best by candlelight, with herbal, oil, and/or salt additions, corresponding to the need. You can also use magickal bathing to allow the water to work on you and impart some of its wisdom to you, through your immersion in it. In this manner, a magickal bath can be used for spell casting.

Daily Feng Shui Tip for Jan. 8th

Let your worries and your woes go down the drain on this ‘Bubble Bath Day.’ In fact, today I think I’ll get off my soapbox and offer you a soothing soak that will have your energies awash in peace, good fortune and luck. Take seven stems of seven different but fragrant flowers, making sure that they are free of thorns or sharp protrusions. Let them soak and infuse their energy into your bath for at least twenty minutes before you get in. Refresh the water to the temperature that you like best and add a handful of marigolds or rose petals. Bathe in the normal way with the sure knowledge that this bath is drawing into your life the blessings and benefits that these blooms hold. Take this bouquet of a bath whenever you need peace, purity, grace and glory! Anything annoying or irritating will, as previously mentioned, circle down the drain!

Wodaabe

The Wodaabe are the nomadic people of Niger, living amidst settled neighbors. Their herbal knowledge is renowned throughout the region. The Wodaabe recommendation for fighting the influence of sorcery is derived from what they call the tanni tree or Balanites aegyptic. Millennia ago, the Ancient Egyptians favored oil produced from this tree for perfumery. The Wodaabe recommend bathing the body with water containing crushed tanni bark.

1. Add the crushed bark to a cauldron or pot of simmering water.

2. Allow this to simmer for at least one hour, and then allow it to cool until a comfortable temperature is reached.

3. Add to a bath filled with warm water or, for maximum strength, dip a clean cloth into the cooked decoction and bathe the body using downwards, outwards movements.
