Saturnday. You know I love it. A day for transformation and what I call setting up to be “stable as a table” is Saturday. The day of manifestation, material gain and a great day to banish what doesn’t serve you. Great day to have a talk with your ancestors, refresh that ancestral altar and burn that ancestral money 😉 The last day of the week is also a day of endings, as the wheel of the week completes it turn. Sunday is a new day, Saturday is the day to take out the trash if needed. Clean it all out. I chose Saturn Day for our marketing post because I want to support your material business gain. You should share your stuff. Saturdays are also my “refresh the wards” day and I have a thing I do around my house. I water the plants, refresh my salts, banish the demons, ya know…housework 😂😂😂

I also mop my floors using some Florida water, refresh my fridge and just do normal house stuff. I may also slip into trance and dance on a Saturday, you never know what the day holds for me.

Current Moon Phase

You can use this link to go forward or backward in time for Moon phase information. If you are curious, you can even find out what phase the Moon was in when you or anyone else was born.

From MoonGiant.com

The Moon’s current phase for today and tonight is a Waning Crescent phase. This phase is best viewed just before the sunrise in the western sky. In this phase the Moon’s illumination is growing smaller each day until the New Moon. During this part of the Moon cycle, the Moon is getting closer to the Sun as viewed from Earth and the night side of the Moon is facing the Earth with only a small edge of the Moon being illuminated. It can also be a great time to see the features of the Moon’s surface. Along the edge where the illuminated portion meets the dark side, the craters and mountains cast long shadows making them easier to observe with a telescope or binoculars.

Visit the September 2023 Moon Phases Calendar to see all the daily moon phase for this month.

Today’s Waning Crescent Phase

The Waning Crescent on September 8 has an illumination of 35%. This is the percentage of the Moon illuminated by the Sun. The illumination is constantly changing and can vary up to 10% a day. On September 8 the Moon is 23.62 days old. This refers to how many days it has been since the last New Moon. It takes 29.53 days for the Moon to orbit the Earth and go through the lunar cycle of all 8 Moon phases.

It’s important to focus on family and service to others this year. Obviously, take care of yourself first. Time for a makeover? Explore classes and new training.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

This is going to be a great day for you as many of your personal activities are favored. So turn a cold shoulder to work for the rest of the day and think of what you want to do with those dear to you.

There are high chances for you to be surprised with some sort of journey or going out in a very special place, all organized by your partner.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

This day seems to translate itself in a lot of love and compassion but the whole emotional boom is going to be in your heart most likely.

Some natives are going to become aware of the reasons why they love their partners so much while other natives will realize and finally accept that they have a crush on someone they know for some time.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

You should try not to exhaust yourself with any activity that involves a lot of work and concentration. You might be inclined to try and solve more than one thing at a time and this is not really advisable in your condition right now.

You need to dose off your energy wisely. Keep in mind that you can delegate some of your work load.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

This is a day of competitions, be them in full sight or hidden. You are going to be working under pressure and you are going to do whatever it takes to be remarked.

Maybe you don’t want others to compare you with one of your colleagues or maybe there’s a higher stake in the game such as a promotion or something similar.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

This is going to be a focused day and you are probably going to be able to solve a lot of issues that are going to be brought to your attention.

And believe me when I say that people are going to notice how professional you are and you are going to be flooded with all kinds of demands. However, despite the work you are going to love the attention.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Your head is completely in the clouds and you think of ways in which you could cut your day short and go plan something for the evening or maybe a small trip for this weekend.

It’s an auspicious time for you to be adventurous and to do something unexpected so if there’s any place you wanted to visit, this might be a great time to give it a try.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

You are advised to deal with any blockages and hardships that might be going in your life at the moment in order to clear things for the following weeks.

The quicker you address everything that is bothering you the easiest it will be for you in the future and the risk of unpleasant consequences will be significantly reduced.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

It seems that today your words and all the strategies you are going to try to use in order to get out of a sensible situation are going to be hard to use.

This is because those around you are just showing signs that they’ve kind of had enough of all that from you and that you need to change your strategy and become more honest about certain things.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

The last few days you have gone through quite a few emotional states but it seems that now you are just going to rest at one.

And this is a thought provoking one as you are highly influenced to think everything that you are doing through and to not let anything just go by. It is a good moment to involve those close to you in your plans.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

You are going to be full of energy and ready to tackle all sorts of things today but do not expect this day to shine because it won’t exceed your expectations in any way.

Just tend to what you usually do and then try to have a nice evening with a couple of friends or your partner. You also need to move around so take advantage of your energy.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

This is going to be quite an auspicious day as many rewards are probably going to show up for you. This doesn’t mean however that you can take things for granted.

Before you celebrate any success or accomplishment that might be recognized today you are invited to meditate upon the path that led you there and on what you should be doing next.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

This announces to be quite an agitated day as there are many things you will need to tend to, some of them even involving some sort of travel.

Be it that you are sent on a business trip or somewhere else to solve some stringent matters, be sure that you will benefit from this journey, both professionally and personally.

Moon Alert

Avoid shopping or making important decisions after 6 PM EDT today (3 PM to 10 PM PDT). After that, the Moon moves from Gemini into Cancer.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

This is a poor day for important decisions or new ideas (especially by siblings, relatives and neighbours) because wishful thinking and in some cases, fuzzy thinking is rampant. Keep this in mind. If possible, postpone important decisions for another day.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

If shopping today, be careful about buying luxurious, elegant items – things you might not purchase at other times. Certainly, keep your receipts (and the box) because today is the classic day for wishful thinking. Poor day for important financial decisions.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

Today the Moon is in your sign at odds with dreamy Neptune, which makes you starry-eyed and full of wishful thinking. Not only might you be absorbed with ideas about “what if”, you might also be the victim of someone who gives you false information. Double check everything you do today.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

Something hidden or going on behind the scenes might create confusion for you today. For example, someone might withhold important information from you. Or vice versa, they might tell you something that is incorrect either because they are in error or they are deceiving you.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

Be leery when talking to friends or members of groups and organizations today because the truth might be elusive. Someone might not know what they’re talking about. Someone else might “think” they know what they’re talking about. Someone might try to deceive you. Tricky day!

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

For some reason, people might be confused about you today. They might misunderstand your intentions or they might not trust you. You are certainly in the limelight, and people notice you more than usual. In fact, they seem to know personal details about your private life. But something is “off.”

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Don’t believe everything you hear today because it will be easy for you to fall for someone’s fancy rhetoric or propaganda. This most likely will relate to religion, politics or something in the news. Be sure of your sources and check things out before you jump on the bandwagon.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

This is a poor day to agree to financial matters, especially related to inheritances, shared property, taxes, debt or the wealth and resources of someone else. You might not have all the facts. Possibly, the facts you have are incorrect. It’s also possible that someone is pulling the wool over your eyes.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Be extra clear in conversations with close friends, partners and spouses today because you might be operating under a serious delusion about something. You might have incorrect assumptions? You might have the wrong facts. Be aware that you are operating in fuzzy territory. (Just for today.)

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

If you’re at work or doing a specific task today, double check everything because you might have the wrong information. Definitely, if something doesn’t seem right to you or it doesn’t feel right – check it out because today is full of classic errors, wishful thinking and even deceit.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

Romantic disappointment will be par for the course today. If this is the case, you have to ask yourself if your expectations were realistic? Did you express your expectations? Unexpressed expectations almost guarantee disappointment. Meanwhile, protect your kids from chemicals, bad food or poisons.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

Family discussions might be confusing today because someone might want to do something even if it isn’t doable. Wishful thinking might propel their actions. Be careful about family members with alcohol or drug problems because this is a tough day for them.

If Your Birthday Is Today

Actor Toby Jones (1966) shares your birthday today. You are a spontaneous person who loves knowledge. You set high standards for yourself and others. You are not a quitter. This is a year of change. Expect increased personal freedom. Let go of whatever has been holding you back so that you can seek out new opportunities.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

This Thursday you are going to have the occasion to solve a potential problem in your life and bring everything to a more solid ground.

This is probably going to be something that has to do with your personal life but don’t be surprised if it’s more likely to be a problem of one your friends that can potentially impact you later on.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

It seems that today you are going to combine your emotions with your persistence and you are going to try and find the best solutions and work.

You are increasingly interested in assuring a nice climate at work so all your decisions, especially if you are in some sort of executive position, are going to be taken with consideration to your colleagues.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

You seem to be in quite a slow motion today but it might just be the surface because underneath you are probably thinking of a million things at the same time.

You are going to be very interested in keeping to a timeline so it’s important for you to work with specific guidelines. Just try not to feel blocked if you don’t get them in a particular situation.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

You are going to be quite inspired this Thursday and the day will be gone in no time as you are preoccupied by a lot of things at the same time.

However, it seems that for most natives, these are going to be like side projects and that they are somewhat prone to ignore their actual work in order to get time for such artsy endeavors.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

This Thursday is going to be very busy for you as you are going to have to tend to a lot of tasks at work but also at home.

You are going to be involved in a lot of meetings in particular and as soon as you get home you are probably going to be reminded of a series of house chores that you need to do. Your mental energy is high so you’ll be just fine through the day.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

You should expect some tensions at home in regard of the financial side. Be it that you’ve overspent on something personal and not very useful or that your partner has done a similar purchase; be sure that there will rise some discussions on this matter.

No matter on which side you are, try to be diplomatic and not make any remarks that none of you would like to hear.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

It seems that this day will bring a long wanted resolution to a discussion that has been lingering in your life for some time now.

Be it that some new details surface, that you manage to find a solution or that you are presented with one, be sure you will feel a lot relieved seeing these things come to an end. It is a good time for you to relax a bit.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

This Thursday you are going to show just how brave and responsible you can sometimes be.

Whether you are faced with a difficult situation at work and you approach the right solution or that you throw a helping hand to someone else, be sure that those around you will notice your behavior. It is a good moment also for you to spend some time outdoors.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Today you are going to learn that you need to make a little more effort in order to meet your full potential.

This is going to be a difficult lesson for you to learn, especially if the stars throw it in during a sensible discussion at work. Maybe someone of greater authority is not content of your work and you are prompted to focus better.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Today you are going to be very precise in your work and it seems that you are actually going to leave all home matters away for the whole working day.

You might feel a bit disappointed about the way things are going in your life and maybe this is why you prefer to let yourself all in work. You need to confront your feelings as soon as possible.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

You are going to show how much compassion and generosity is in yourself today. For some natives this might happen as they offer themselves as volunteers in a community activity while other natives will simply help someone in need.

Take advantage of such moments because they will make you feel very accomplished by the end of the day.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

This is going to be quite a difficult day for you as you are creating all kinds of imaginary barriers around you.

Maybe you’ve been disappointed by someone, either at work or in love, in the past and now you feel that the current situation will lead into that same place and you are taking some cautionary measures. Make sure you don’t get stuck in the past.

And we are back again!  Working with Herbs can be very rewarding.  There are many benefits to working with herbs, not only do you get your hands in the dirt, but the connection with Mother Earth cannot be discounted.  Working with the Mother, instead of against her, can be very rewarding.  She can lend not only her strength, but her beauty to your spell casting.  Be pure in your attentions, no matter what they may be and the Earth’s pureness will help you.

Goddess Herb – Balm of Gilead

Balm of Gilead has a feminine aspect.  It is closely connected with Saturn and the Spirit.  The buds of Balm of Gilead can be carried in a sachet to help ease a broken heart.  They also lend their energy to protection, healing, inspiration and knowledge as well as lending strength to overcome that broken heart.

Using Balm of Gilead in Magickal workings can help to boost the energies by lending that strength.  Understanding what you will be sending out in the Universe can help to boost your own energies.  This herb is good for protection, so lending others that it will touch on its journey through the Universe can only help you in return, threefold.

God Herb – Ash

Ash, even though it can be referred to as the Goddess Tree, has a masculine aspect.  It is closely connected to the Sun and the element of Fire.  While great for spells of protection, it can be also used to make brooms for purification of sacred spaces as well as great for Wands!  The wands that are made from Ash have a deep healing aspect.

This herb/tree is used in Sea Rituals.  To call to the God of the Seas.  Even though the element that is most closely connect is Water, we all know that opposites attract and Ash can help when working with Water in that Sea Ritual.

Placing the leaves in a sachet beneath a pillow can help to induce psychic dreams.  If you wish to astral walk in dreams, this would be a beneficial herb to use.  (Disclaimer: No one should astral alone.  You need another person to act as that anchor to pull you back from the abyss).

Blessed Be Brothers & Sisters!

Happy Spellcasting!

A Thought for Today – September 7, 2023

YEAH! I am caught up on the monthly posts finally except for the Sun Sign and Chinese Zodiac. Last month I ran into a problem of sunsigns.org showing the monthly horoscope for 2022 instead of this year the same with their daily birthday horoscopes. So, I am still trying to find a more reputable website to bring you both styles of monthly horoscopes and a second birthday horoscope that are commonly followed. When I find them, hopefully by next Monday, I will get them posted. For the rest of this week there will be 2 daily horoscopes but only one birthday horoscope.

I will also be back on track to do all of the regular daily posts for today and tomorrow in the northern hemisphere.

The COVID went into a sinus infection and bronchitis. Thankfully no hospitalization as they couldn’t do more for me there expect possibly me getting even sicker. I have been on a week of antibiotics, something my doctor of over 2 decades prescribes when all else has failed, lots of rest, and at times felt like a canoe floating on all the liquids I drank to stay hydrated. I refused to go on steroids as I turn into an uber (B)itch. I had to pull out and clean my nebulizer to use every 4 hours for most of this past week. These treatments leaving breathing better, but they also make me shaky and very grumpy. Big Dawg took Monday and yesterday off of his job so, I could stay home to rest, use the nebulizer, and be surround by our fur kids some of the very best medicine in the world. This along with Big Dawg being a “father rooster” the male equitant to a “mother hen” me so much I finally told him to go away and if I wanted something I would let him know. He did spoil me by getting me 2 more goddess statues and a round crystal that has a crescent Moon with a Fairy sitting on the bottom point etched into it. He has picked many witchy and pagan things for me without my help or guidance (well a few general questions about which gods and goddesses I work with but nothing more than that), remember he does not follow the same spiritual path that I do but is 200% respective of my spiritual and magickal path. Twice now a package has been delivered in his name and I thought nothing of it until he called me into the next room and said open these boxes. The first three boxes were The Triple Goddesses seated in her Mother aspect and her consort the Horn God/Green Man along with a clear globe with the Tree of Life etched into the middle.

The latest three boxes had the globe I described above along with two statutes. The larger of the two is of Calliope, 1 of the 9 ancient Greek Muses, who comes to help me with many different creative ideas and suggestions on extra posts.

The other one to me is the Celtic goddess Epona as it has a dog standing next to her and three behind her. Why Epona? Originally Epona who is the Celtic goddess of horses but when I started Polite Dogs 1 my gentle dog obedience school, or should I human training for what is best for their dog and how to do it correctly without raising their voice or using any type of physical punishment including indoor cages, I called upon her to help me to introduce manners into the dogs I was training and she answered my request over almost 2 decades. Although, I did a 4-year apprenticeship to learn how to gently train not just canine home companions but law enforcement and show ring training also. Without her helping and guiding me as an adult I not of rotten the solid reputation I have as a trainer.

Well, I have gone on way longer than I planned so, it is time for me to get the regular daily posts done…

WITH LOVE AND A HUG BLESSED BE DEAR WOTC FAMILY AND FRIENDS

September Birthstone Color and Flower and Symbols

Sapphire – Source: monthlybirthstones.com

The September birthstone color of deep blue comes from the blue Sapphire gemstone. Blue Sapphire is a form of the mineral corundum and there are many other colors of corundum known as ‘fancy sapphires’. The exception is red corundum which is in fact the Ruby gemstone and is treated separately. Pure corundum is actually colorless and traces of other elements produce the different colored Sapphires. In the case of blue Sapphire it is traces of iron and titanium.

Brilliant blue Sapphires were found historically in the remote mountainous regions of Kashmir of northern India. Today most high quality Sapphires come from the Asian countries of Myanmar (Burma), Sri Lanka, Thailand and Cambodia and the African country of Madagascar. Commercial grade Sapphires are found in East Africa, Australia and Montana, USA.

September birthstone jewelry set with the valuable and precious blue Sapphire gemstone is a special gift for a milestone birthday. Lab created Sapphires are becoming a more affordable alternative and circumvent the ethical and environmental issues around mining.

Discover more about the sapphire gemstone and sapphire history and symbolism.

Alternative Birthstone: Lapis Lazuli

The alternative or second birthstone for September is Lapis Lazuli, which is also a beautiful deep blue color.

Lapis is not actually a crystal like most gemstones, but a type of metamorphic rock made up of dark blue lazurite, golden pyrite flecks and white calcite veins. Due to its exquisite coloring it has been used in jewelry and sculptures for centuries.

Lapiz Lazuli has been mined in Afghanistan for more than 6000 years and is still sourced from there today. Other locations include Italy and Russia in Eurasia, Argentina and Chile in South America, and Canada and the USA in North America.

Lapiz Lazuli jewelry is more affordable than blue Sapphire and makes a special September birthday gift.

Discover more about the lapis gemstone and lapis lazuli history and symbolism.

Gardening Moon Calendar – September 2023

Please read this first:

1) Moon Phase x Moon Zodiac Sign:

Please keep in mind, that Gardening by Moon Phase and Gardening by Moon Zodiac Sign are two different/independent biodynamic systems and they might give you different or contradictiory gardening recommendations.

  • a) Each Moon Phase (except Full Moon and New Moon) lasts about 1 week
  • b) Each Moon Zodiac Sign lasts about 2.5 days

Try to experiment with these two systems to find which recommendations suits you the most.

2) Tropical (Astrological) x Sidereal (Astronomical) Zodiac:
(1-2 days difference in Leaf, Fruit, Root and Flower days)

There are two different zodiacs for determining the Moon Sign:

  • a) Tropical zodiac (Astrological) is based on the seasons – Vernal Equinox is fixed as 0° Aries (The 1st Fruit day)
  • b) Sidereal zodiac (Astronomical) takes into account Precession of Equinoxes and shifts 0° Aries back by cca 1-2 days. Maria Thun who was an authority on biodynamics was using this Sidereal zodiac

Try to experiment also with these two zodiac systems to find which system suits you better.

Prepare for a Celestial Rollercoaster: 7 Planets in Retrograde this September

Prepare yourselves, for the cosmic chaos is upon us once again. Brace for impact as we delve into a period where seven powerful planets embark on their retrograde journey simultaneously.

Yes, you heard it right – Venus, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto will all take a step back through the celestial sphere, sending ripples of disruption throughout their respective astrological realms.

But what exactly does it mean when a planet goes retrograde? Although the term may sound ominous, it’s important to note that this backward motion is merely an optical illusion.

Nevertheless, ancient astrologers associated the appearance of a reversing planet with significant earthly events, which has been upheld in modern astrology.

Retrogrades often bring forth challenges that compel us to reevaluate our beliefs, habits, and circumstances, even if we may not feel entirely prepared.

It’s important to remember, however, that not all retrogrades are harbingers of doom. Embedded within their cosmic dance lies an opportunity for reflection, reassessment, and reimagination – the ‘re’ in retrograde.

Now is the time to confront any lingering unresolved issues in our lives. Whether it be our physical well-being, communication skills, relationships, career paths, responsibilities, or personal empowerment – the retrograde energy offers a fertile ground for growth and transformation.

Embrace this period as a chance for self-mastery, where you can reclaim your power and steer your life towards a brighter future. Mark September 4th, 2023, in bold on your calendars, dear friends.

During this sprint through the retrograde maze, Mercury, the planet of communication, will form an aspect with Jupiter, the planet of expansion.

It is highly recommended to set aside some moments for introspection, journaling, or meditation. You may be astounded by the profound insights and celestial wisdom that grace your mind during this time.

So, let it be known, that a cataclysmic astrological event awaits us. As the majority of our solar system’s planets retrace their steps, expect the unexpected.

This cosmic symphony of retrograde motion promises to shake the foundations of our lives, urging us to embrace the challenges and seize the opportunities that lie within.

Hold on tight, stargazers, for this celestial spectacle is sure to leave its mark.

Let’s go planet by planet, in the order their respective retrogrades will end…

Venus Retrograde 2023: July 23 to September 4

Mercury Retrograde 2023: August 24 to September 16

Pluto Retrograde 2023: May 11 to October 22

Saturn Retrograde 2023: June 18 to November 4

Neptune Retrograde 2023: July 1 to December 6

Jupiter Retrograde 2023: September 5 to December 31

Uranus Retrograde 2023-2024: August 29 to January 27

10th Celtic Tree Month – Vine September 2 – September 29

Source: learnreligions.com

The Vine month is a time of great harvest — from the grapes of the Mediterranean to the fruits of the northern regions, the Vine produces fruits we can use to make that most wondrous concoction called wine. The Celts called this month Muin. The Vine is a symbol of both happiness and wrath — passionate emotions, both of them. Do magical workings this month connected to the Autumn Equinox, or Mabon, and celebrate garden magic, joy and exhilaration, wrath and rage, and the darker aspect of the mother goddess. Use the leaves of the Vines to enhance your own ambition and goals. during this month. The month of Vine is also a good time to get balanced, as there are equal hours of darkness and light.

Source: celticjewelry.com

September, called Muin by the Celts, is the time of the vine. The vine itself is like a green fuse, rising up from the Mother with intensity. Fast growing, prolific, intimately connected to whatever it touches; each type of vine has a certain energetic perspective. Poison ivy, for example, is not the same as a grape vine. Yet they both have in common a certain virility and fertility.

The vine was extremely important in ancient lore because of the grape. Wine has been made for thousands of years and it was considered a highly sacred substance to be used in a ritual context, as it still is today, in the Catholic mass. In ancient times, wine was tied to theater, a transformational rite ruled by the god, Dionysus, who, like Christ, was twice born. Dionysus represents deep, chthonic (subterranean) transformation.

The Maenads, the women who worshipped him, would tear people apart. This dismembering represents spirit coming into the density of matter, the shedding of old patterns that reside in our bones, cells and mind that hold us back from being who are in our divine beauty and power.

September is the time of the autumn equinox, when light and darkness are in perfect balance. The vine represents the bounty of the harvest, which is also moving toward the completion of a yearly cycle. What we harvest was started in the dreamtime, the dark days of winter when the roots were easing through the cold dense earth. We experience first the green shoots of spring efforts, and then the explosive growth of summer.

The contemplation then becomes, what has been the fruit of your life over the past year? What have all your efforts yielded for you to taste and digest? It is a good time to find balance, just as the light is balancing on the equinox. The fruit from the vine may be bitter or sweet, or both. Do you have the courage to consider all of it, all as blessings? As the days grow shorter, we hope you can celebrate what you have gleaned over the past year. Savor the harvest of your life with gratitude and wonder at the mystery and miracle of the very breath that flows through you now.

( SIDE NOTE from Lady Carla Beltane) I was lucky to find I have grape vines growing in my backyard. I had trimmed them way back the last 2 summers but this year when I got to that point of clearing up the flower and herb beds, I saw teeny, tiny grapes on the vines with leaves that I cut off. I was very careful to try not to cut off anymore vines with grapes growing on them. The problem is because of the drought and the smoke haze from Canada I didn’t harvest any this year. I will however be tending them better next year and hopefully have some delicious grapes to eat and can use the vines minus leaves to make a few Dreamcatchers in the winter of 2024.)

Spell For Binding Spell For a Toxic Or Harmful Person

(YOU CAN COPY AND PASTE ANY COROSPONDENCES AND SPELLS POSTED TO A DOCUMENT TO PRINT AND/OR SAVE ON YOUR COMPUTER)

Source: modwitchofthewest.wordpress.com

The Last-Quarter Moon is when the Moon is three-quarters through its orbit around Earth. This is when the Moon is Waning (going from Full back to the New Moon).

Just as the moon is “shedding” its illumination, this is a time think about what you need to shed from yourself. What do you need to release? What is no longer serving you? Is it a negative thought pattern? A relationship? A feeling? This is the perfect time to banish, cast away, bind, scream, and yell in hopes to lighten our load as we approach the New Moon and Her fresh energies.

There may be some months where you have nothing you think you need to get rid of or release from your life…and this is okay! It isn’t completely necessary to remove something during this time. It’s not a requirement that you do. But it is one of the best times to do this if you do have something needing of release. Maybe you’re still working on releasing yourself of something from the month before, this is okay, too! Keep working on that thing, you don’t want to overload yourself with things needing to be banished. Don’t overwhelm yourself. This is a time to release things to better yourself, and taking on more than you can handle will, more than likely, bring you down rather than lift you up.

A Binding Spell for a Toxic Or Harmful Person

-This is a spell that can be used for when someone isn’t respecting boundaries or not listening to you when you feel they are abusing your energy or help. THIS DOES NOT CURSE OR HEX THEM; rather it works on a subtle level to bind their negative energy up so they can’t influence you or be a burden on you.

What you’ll need:

A picture of the person or one of their belongings (lock of hair, sample of handwriting, piece of clothing, etc.);

A black candle

A lighter or matches

Red thread

A pen and paper

Water

Sage

Onyx or Tourmaline.

Ritual

  1. Ground yourself & Cast a Circle – breath deeply into the base of your spine as you connect to the Earth. Imagine energy rising up your spine into your heart. Imagine the Universe beaming a light into the crown of your head, moving through your heart, and mingling with your personal energy. Keep breathing deeply and acknowledge this power. Use a wand, athame, or your finger and walk clockwise as you cast your circle.
  2. Call in the Elements – Do this however you normally do it, walking clockwise from North around to West.
  3. Focus on Your Intention and Bind That Shit Up – Keep breathing. Find your connection to the Earth. Have a clear intention about who or what you are trying to bind. Take the photo and write: “I bind [their name]” and then what it is you are binding them from. If you are using their belongings, write this on a piece of paper. Then, read that petition out loud. It can be something like this, or unique to yourself: “I [your own name] bind [their name]. I bind [their name] in the name of the Universe. I bind [their name] from harming me in the name of the Elements. I bind [their name] by my name. So it is (Or any other closing you normally do).” Once you are finished with the petition, fold up the piece of paper while imaging the person being caught in the folds like a golden lasso; strong enough that they can never escape (unless you choose to reverse this). Keep focusing as you wrap up the piece of paper with the red string. Repeat the petition: “I bind [their name]” thirteen times while wrapping the string.
  4. Light the Candle – Place the Onyx or Tourmaline around the black candle. Now place the petition in front of this, making sure any items belonging to the person are next to it. Light the candle and repeat what you said before, about binding them by your name and the name of the Universe and Elements. Once this is said, take a few breaths to connect with your intention. Let the candle burn all the way down, placing it into a sink or fire-safe bowl if you have to (birthday candles are a great way to do spells that require candles to burn down, as it takes minutes as opposed to hours for a larger candle).
  5. Dismiss the Elements – However you choose to do it, but walking counterclockwise now, from West to North.
  6. Close the Circle & Ground Yourself – Close the circle with whichever tool you used to cast it. Walk in a counterclockwise direction, feeling the energy moving back into your hand, up your arm, through your body, and back into the Earth. Once you get back to the front of the circle, press you forehead into the ground and imagine any excess energy returning to the Earth.
  7. Disposal – One the New Moon, bury the wax and the petition at a crossroads, or burn it and flush it down the toilet (if you do this, make sure the materials are not harmful to the environment), or dispose of it at an intersection.

*This spell was taken from Inner Witch by Gabriela Herstik (told y’all, it’s my favorite book). And, again, I am under the assumption that, if you are doing spells, you already have a way of calling on the Elements, dismissing them, and casting/closing a circle.

I hope this helps Witches and non-Witches to think about ways to get rid of things or people that are toxic in their lives. This is, obviously, a practice that is not specific to Witchcraft, as all people need to rid their lives of toxicity. Maybe you don’t use spells to do it, but it is important to do it regardless. This is the perfect time to do it!

Some of the Witchcraft/Magickal Correspondence for Wednesday

(YOU CAN COPY AND PASTE ANY COROSPONDENCES AND SPELLS POSTED TO A DOCUMENT TO PRINT AND/OR SAVE ON YOUR COMPUTER)

Wednesday’s Witchery

Be bold and daring today! Expand your knowledge of the Craft by working with the planetary energies of Mercury on this multifaceted day of the week. Consider the Greco-Roman gods Mercury and Hermes and all of the many lessons they have for you. Embrace change and movement, and work on your communication techniques. Conjure up a little good luck for yourself with that Mercury dime spell. Call on Athena to inspire you to try magickal arts and crafts and to be more creative in your own spellwork and witchery.

Meditate on Odin and see what you can discover about him. I wonder what sort of fabulous and fascinating magickal wisdom you will uncover? Odin is a shaman, after all; he may appear in many guises and faces. I guarantee that he will make you laugh at yourself before he is through with you, but you will learn. It’s up to you what you do with that knowledge. Will you let it shapeshift into wisdom?

Wednesday is the wild and wily day of the week, so try to go with the flow; don’t fight the quirky energies of the day. Most importantly, follow your heart, and always keep a good sense of humor, because of Wednesdays you will really need it.
