Spell for Today – A Orange Money Spell

Pierce a large navel orange with a needle, making the pattern of a dollar sign. Insert a clove in each of the piercings. Wrap the orange using green, silver, and gold ribbons in between the rows of cloves. At the top, make a loop of the three ribbons. Decorate the base with a favored crystal. Bless this little token for improved finances, then hang it in a window to release its scented energy with every breeze. When the aroma of the orange fades (the fruit will shrink as it dries), simply anoint it with essential oils for a refreshed fragrance.

General Uses

Financial improvement or stability. Improved cash flow and resources. Prosperity.

The Full Moon

The Full Moon

This is a good time to try out forms of divinations such as scrying or tarot. Reflect about your goals, feelings and matters that have to do with relationship and family. It is also good for transformations, psychic abilities, strength, love, power and fertility.

The Full Moon is also an excellent time to cleanse, purify and charge your crystals. Lay them out so that the moonlight can hit them; if you can do so safely, leave them outside. If not, find a windowsill that catches the moonlight. Don’t just stop at crystals though, your magical tools will also benefit from soaking up the power of the moonlight.

As the Full Moon just passes, the time arrives to put the finishing touches on what you have been doing and to get ready for the quieter time to come. Enjoy beauty and art, listen to music. If you have argued with someone but do not feel the issues are really vital, make up now.

If you live near the sea the Full Moon is a wonderful time to visit the shoreline and (if safe and legal to do so) build a small fire. Collect small pieces of driftwood to buid your fire and, as you lay each piece onto the fire, add a wish. Once the fire is burning nicely, cast offerings into the flames as gifts to the Moon Goddess, such as herbs, flowers and leaves. Sit and watch as the fire burns. If you don’t live near the sea you could turn this into a visualization for a Full Moon meditation.

A FULL OR WAXING MOON SPELL TO REVIVE A WITCHES MAGICKAL POWERS

At the Full or Waxing moon phase just before midnight anoint a PURPLE candle with real VANILLA essential oil or extract. Raise energy by tightening yourself up and pumping your hands, fingers to palms, up and down, and envisioning the moonlight as entering your body and flowing to the candle whilst you anoint it. Do this outside or before a window opened to the moonlight. Place the candle on the ground or windowsill and light it. Say:-

“Fair Selene, Goddess of the Moon, love and light, I ask you to send me your magickal
powers this moon lit night, By the power of the myriad starlight above me.
And your moonlit heavens, so shall it be! ”

Visualize your outstretched arms as soaking up the moonlight and the moonbeams being absorbed into you. You will feel the Goddess giving you her awesome power, snuff (NEVER blow out) your candle and leave it overnight on your altar or where it is.

Either at the sunrise, or just before mid-day. Place the candle in the same place and
stand arms outstretched towards the sun soaking up the energy of its heat and sunbeams, Say:

“Great Ra, Lord of the sky and solar power, Lend your fiery magick to me.
Let this witches powers be reawakened and be as powerful as the forces of the cool Moon and burning sun, By soil, wind, flame and sea,
Grant my desire. So mote it be! ”

Now your Magickal powers and your desire to use them will have been reawakened.
Take your snuffed out candle to your altar and relight it there to burn out as a mark of
respect to the God and Goddess. Spells are far more powerful if you write them yourself.

Cattywampus is an American-based colloquialism or slang that etymologists believe to be of Scottish influence. We use “cattywampus” in the English language as an adjective. The word has alternate spellings and we also use it as “catawampus.” This American-based noun modifier has a multi-part description. In one sense of the word, “cattywampus” describes people, places or things we believe to be fierce, animal-like or savage. When used in this sense, the word describes someone we see as frightening.

The cattywampus became upset and lunged at me!

That “cattywampus” of a woman is coming this way, and she looks very upset!

Etymologists say we find the word “cattywampus” used in North American-based slang in the late 1800s. American English-speakers used “cattywampus” to describe people with outrageous temperaments and those seen to go “off-kilter” or ‘awry’ with little provocation. This colloquial slang has been in use with its original definition since its inception in 1864.

Spell for Today – Sprout a Spell

(YOU CAN COPY AND PASTE ANY SPELLS POSTED TO A DOCUMENT TO PRINT AND/OR SAVE ON YOUR COMPUTER)

Sprout a Spell

From freewitchspells.com

Nothing says “new beginnings” like planting a seed, so use the power of a growing plant to bring success to your own new moon projects.

You need:

A small flower pot

Soil

Seeds (anything will do)

Egg shells

A small piece of paper

Get everything together and write your intentions on the paper. Keep it to a word or two, but enough to represent what you want to accomplish during this new moon. Put a little soil in the flower pot, then place in the bit of paper (fold it up), and then crush some egg shells on top of that. Fill up the rest of the pot with soil.

Repeat the following:

I plant this seed when the moon is new,
Bring me success, I ask it true.

Keep repeating this as you plant your seeds, and give them a little water. After the ritual, keep the pot somewhere sunny and you should start seeing some success in your plans when the plant begins to sprout. Keep it healthy and thriving to keep the magick going.

Spell for Today – Gratitude Salt Spell: Attract More Good Luck in the New Moon

From Spells8.com

To attract luck to your life, you must vibrate in faith, joy, and gratitude. This Wiccan “Good Luck” spell was designed to attract abundance and success, whether you use it for work and career opportunities, for love and relationships or to solve money problems. If you believe in your Witch Powers and trust that your Higher Self is listening, then all the doors that are locked now, will open for you.

Why this Spell Works

Salt will be the main ingredient of this ritual and will act as a cleansing agent. Salt has traditionally been used to clear and purify negative energies. It will help bring new energies and offer protection.

Rose petals are the perfect offering for this powerful request. The rose is considered the sacred flower of the West and represents the wheel of life, a symbolism paralleled by the Lotus flower in the East. It represents the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Roman Catholicism and it has inspired writers, painters, musicians, architects, philosophers, and spiritualists for hundreds of years. Its powers of Manifestation are uniquely effective. 🌹

🌑 Cast this spell on the New Moon to welcome the lunar cycle that begins with the best intentions.

🌘 If you are casting it on the Waning Crescent Moon, focus less on attracting good luck and more in giving closure to a cycle with gratitude.

Difficulty: Easy

Attract Good Luck by promoting Gratitude with a simple candle ritual. This New Moon spell for Luck can be done really at any time and it is totally Wiccan-safe Witchcraft.

INGREDIENTS

  3. Add one drop of essential oil of bergamot and one drop of essential oil of vetiver.

  4. Let the hair dry out.

  5. Braid it together with a strand of your own hair.

  6. Knot them together, ideally creating nine knots. (If this isn’t possible, the hair isn’t long enough, wrap red or black thread around the braid and the nine knots in this instead). Murmur your desires into the hair while knotting.

  7. Make this charm into a bracelet, supplementing with red and/or black thread for additional length, if necessary. Spell for Today – Eros’s “Passion for Life” Spell

Eros’s “Passion for Life” Spell

Gather a white feather (symbol for Eros and his mighty wings), a rosy pink candle, and a coordinating candle holder.

Carve a simple figure of a bow and arrow on the side of the candle. Place the feather off to the side, away from the heat of the candle flame. Picture the winged god Eros in your mind, and meditate on this image for a moment. Now, ask Eros in your own words to inspire you with passion and enthusiasm. Then repeat the following spell three times:

Eros, winged Greek god of passion and delight

Aid me in my quest for inspiration tonight

Passion is more than sexual, it conveys ambition too

Help me face my challenges and succeed in all that I do.

Allow the candle to burn out in a safe place. Close the spell by saying:

For the good of all, with harm to none

By flame and feather, this spell is done.

Devotional text

Blessed Bríg, keeper of the Sacred Flame,
Mother to all, and Lady of the Spring, I call to you.
Daughter of Dagda and Morrighan, born with
the rays of the sun, I call to you.

You who were nursed on the milk of the Sacred Cow,
whose footsteps bring flowers and shamrocks.
Blessed Bríg, whose flame burns evermore
with the light of the world, I call to you.

Blessed Bríg, weaver of webs and teller of stories, I call to you.
Blessed Bríg, healer of wounds and scars, I call to you.

As the light from your flame covers the skies as the sun rises,
I call to you to spread your blessings across this land as you once spread your
mantle.

Envelop all you touch with your healing grace.
Bring newborn babies into this world with love and hope. Grant the poet the words they seek
to spread your peace far and wide.

Weave a web and tell a story, oh Bríg, so that
those who weave as well may understand.

Blessed Bríg, grant your peace and patience across the land.
Every hill, every valley, every river, and stream shall sing your praise.

Lady Bríg, I call to you.
Come into my home and sit upon my hearth.

Bless my home and family with the protection you have to offer.
A bed is always here for you, Lady Bríg, if you would have it.

I call to you as I weave my web, paint my picture, and write my story.
May your blessings be ever present in my life.

I call to you, Lady Bríg, to instill in me the creativity and inspiration
that follows you wherever your feet may take you.

I stand at your feet, Blessed Bríg, and tend the hearth fire in your honor.

May your Sacred Flame burn always and never extinguish.

Blessed Bríg, I call to you. Purify me within the Sacred Well.
Heal me from all wounds and injuries. Bless and protect my hearth and kin.

Blessed Bríg, whose cattle are sacred to the land, I call to you.
Bless my hearth and kin with your nurturing hand. Allow us to live freely
in your light.

Blessed Bríg, Keeper of the Mysteries of Women, I call to you.
Lend me your guiding light. Keep me safe from all who would do me harm.

Blessed Bríg, mother of all and mother to none,
I call to you to keep
the old traditions alive.
Help me keep your Sacred Flame lit and
spread your unity across the land.

Blessed Bríg, daughter of Dagda and Morrighan, sister to Oghma, lover of
Bres, mother of Ruadan, Iuchar, and Uar.

Weaver of webs. Teller of stories. I call to you.
Come into my home.
Wear your crown and gem.

Lay your mantle over my home so that we may be enveloped in your peace, in
your unity, and your compassion. Envelop us with your inspiration,
Lady Bríg.

I call to you, Lady Bríg, that you may bless us so we may be as fruitful as
the Earth.

What is Brigid the goddess of?

Brigid is the goddess of the flame and the well, patroness of healing, poetry and smithcraft. She is a solar deity so her attributes are related to fire, light, and the hearth. 🔥

Brighid is the Celtic goddess of inspiration and also carries various powers related to inspiration, such as the art of healing, and divination. She was the patroness of sacred perpetual flames, such as that held by 19 nuns in a sanctuary in Kildare, Ireland (now in honor of St. Brigit).

The tradition of female priestesses who tend to eternal sacred flames is prevalent in ancient Indo-European spirituality. Other examples include the goddess Hestia, who watches over the hearth of the home, or Minerva.
