Good Fortune & Luck Spell Jar

A good luck jar is a type of spell which resembles an amulet or talisman. In old times, witch bottles were made to protect one’s home from psychic attacks.

INGREDIENTS

A small jar with a lid

Bay leaf (or a small scrap of paper)

1 Salt

Mustard seed

Cinnamon

Lilac flowers

Green aventurine chips

DIRECTIONS

Cleanse your jar and altar space with incense, Florida water, or your favorite cleansing method. Optionally, cast a circle or perform a grounding activity.

Add the salt to the jar and write your intention on the bay leaf or piece of paper. For example: “I am lucky, safe and abundant”.

Add the intention to the jar, along with the rest of the ingredients. As you add each item individually, be mindful of your intention statement.

Screw the lid onto the jar. Seal the intention by saying “So mote it be!”.

One Way to Calmly End a Stress Filled Day

The following is an easy form of meditation that can be done anywhere anytime you fell the need to use it.

Take a very deep breath (try to count slowly to at least five and work your way up until you can count to ten) and then let it out slowly (using the same way of  counting that you used to inhale) using a keyword to help you relax. Say it as you let out the last part of your breath…do this three times. It really does help to lower stress, blood pressure, and the feeling of wanting to whack someone. My keyword is simple I just use the word ” RELAX.” I also use this a night when I have had a stress-filled day and am having a hard time going to sleep. Each time I say relax in my mind I can feel myself Sinking (for lack of a better-descripted word) into my mattress and pillow more. I am usually at least 2/3 of the way to sleep after the third breath.

Dear WOTC family and friends may your slumber be restful and your dreams all pleasant ones.

Full Moon Ritual For Kids By Beth Griffin

Moon Cycle Rituals and intention setting with your kids!? YES!

The moon is probably one of my favorite life/homeschool topics. I started practicing moon cycle rituals years ago and this has grown to be something the kids look forward to now too. The Full Moon brings lots of energy- it’s great having a practice to help to process and feel less overwhelmed.

EVERYTHING is cyclical, awareness of and connection to the moon cycle will welcome more ease into daily life.

Take some time and pay attention to the cycle of the moon for a few months, note your feelings/mood/behaviors, and do the same for your kids.

You’ll likely see a spike in high energy around the time of the Full Moon, ask any ER doctor, the old saying that “things are always more wild around a Full Moon”, has real, statistical legs.

So what to do with all of that super charged energy?

Full Moon Ritual For Kids:

Some items to gather that touch all 5 senses:

  • Paper and something to write, draw, or paint with- get as creative as you want! Pouring Full Moon energy into art is a great outlet!

  • If you set goals/intentions on the New Moon, bring those- we usually each set one together and then use this time to reflect and appreciate the journey.

  • A guided meditation- the Calm app or Headspace app are both AWESOME for this! We love the meditations for kids on the Calm app and use them all the time. I tried being the one to guide and apparently that makes the kids giggle and want to ask questions and chat- which is fine, but I also like seeing them just BE and breathe. Another option is calming music. If you have a favorite candle or cleansing fragrance like burning some cedar chips or a smoke cleansing bundle- go for it!

  • Crystals- if you have a crystal collection, this is a great time to enjoy it. Both of my kiddos love rocks, crystals and minerals and have solid collections going at this point, so we like to incorporate our found treasures in this ritual.

  • Epsom salt & herb bath- this has become something we try to do more often, but life is so busy with middle grade kiddos and all the activities- so it’s nice to incorporate a special bath in our Moon Ritual so each kiddo still has at least a couple baths each month.

  • FIRE- The Full Moon is time to let go of what no longer serves us, appreciate the lessons we’ve learned and celebrate what brought us joy and fulfillment. I know that may sound a little sketchy with young kids, but it’s actually a great way to teach fire safety and have some fun.

  • Music- the Full Moon is all about big, bright energy, so it’s a wonderful time to move and shake to your favorite tunes.

  • Food- sharing a meal with family and friends to celebrate the Full Moon is always fun and a great way to connect and share your favorite foods. Since there is usually one Full Moon per month you can totally theme it to the season or to which full moon it is. This can also help you create a habit of doing at least one community or family meal each month, even in the busiest of times.

How to practice:

Set aside 30 minutes the day of the Full Moon – or if that’s not possible any time with in about 48 hours prior or post- I have kids too, I get it.

GET OUTSIDE:

  • Weather permitting, Incorporate some time outside, if possible, in the moonlight. This can be a little more of a challenge in Summer months. If the moon comes up past bedtime, work the outdoor time in before that, any time outside is good! You can do the entire ritual outdoors, in the yard, at the beach or on a camping trip.

GET CENTERED:

  • Start with a grounding mindfulness/meditation practice- depending on what your kids are up for, this could be 3 deep breaths together, a 5-7 minute guided meditation or something more. Kids love chanting, humming, singing a song together- get creative to help them engage while they feel calm and present.

GET CREATIVE:

  • When you’re finished with mindfulness, take 5-20 minutes for “journaling practice”- this obviously varies a bit with various age/ability levels- my 5 year old likes to draw and write a tiny bit, my 8 year old will write the entire time. Alternatively (or as an additional part of the ritual) you can do some lunar art! I have a few ideas saved on Pinterest if you’d like to check em out!

  • Here are some questions you can use as prompts for writing, journaling, discussion or even art inspiration.

    • What is something you have worked on or accomplished in the past few weeks, how does the progress or achievement make you feel?

    • What is one thing you appreciate?

    • What is something that makes you feel FULL & BRIGHT like the moon?

GET FULL & BRIGHT:

  • The moon in this phase is FULL & BRIGHT so this is a good time to embrace that big energy and celebrate the things that make us feel full of light. We love incorporating fire in this part of the ritual- and usually do so with our back yard fire pit. You can use a candle or even make a pretend fire with tissue paper. Always be safe and mindful when using fire for part of your practice. The Full Moon is time to let go of what is no longer serving us, appreciate the lessons we’ve learned and celebrate what is going well. We like to write down what we are letting go of and burn it in the fire.

OTHER FUN IDEAS:

  • If you have a crystal collection it’s fun to set them up on a tray and take them out for a little charge-up at night in the light of the Full Moon.

  • You can also make “moon water” by filling a glass jar (or any container with a lid really) with water and letting it bathe all night in the moonlight.

  • Take a bath- this is a great way to wrangle some of that wild Full Moon energy after your ritual. We like adding 1/4 cup Epsom salt and some calming herbs/oils like lavender.

Spell – War Water Recipe and Two Protection Spells

(YOU CAN COPY AND PASTE ANY SPELLS POSTED TO A DOCUMENT TO PRINT AND/OR SAVE ON YOUR COMPUTER)

War Water Recipe

Ingredients

A jar

Water

Iron nails (if possible try to find cut iron nails)

On a Tuesday (the day of Mars) put the iron nails in the jar and fill the jar with water. Leave the nails inside the jar for at least 15 days in a cool place (preferably your refrigerator as you will prevent bacteria to be cultivated in the water). For the first 7 days leave the jar unopened and then open periodically as air will speed up the oxidation process of the nails. The secret for this recipe is oxidation.

Strain the water from the jar and use as needed. You can keep adding water to the original jar with the iron nails indefinitely and you will have an infinite supply of Water of Mars. In addition, you can summon the God Mars to bless your water with his powers.

At this time, other ingredients may be added to the mix. These ingredients might include additional iron, graveyard dirt, thorns, urine, rotting oak leaves, and/or spanish moss.

Spanish Moss is a flowering plant that grows on trees in the South. It has become a common additive in War Water. It rots well in water giving the concoction a putrid or *swampy*smell and also a nice black color, which some prefer.

Protection Against Specific Spells Using War Water

To protect your home or apartment against the type of spell that is cast by placing something in the doorway or on the steps of a house, add two ounces of War Water to a mop bucket of water. Say a cleansing chant over the water to remove all negative influences from your doorway, yours steps and whatever else you intend to mop. Then mop the surfaces, wringing out the mop into another bucket. When you have finished, pour the mop water and the wringings into a street or a roadway.

Protection of Your Home Using War Water

This spell is especially suited to protecting a home from acts of violence whether the violence is psychic or physical. This spell may be done annually if desired. The best day to do this spell is around the 21st of June, the Summer Equinox. But if you can use it anytime especially in emergency.

Add two ounces of War Water to a mop bucket of water. Say a protection chant over the water. If you tradition involves praying to saints, you should pray in the name of St. John the Baptist. Lightly mop the house out, from top to bottom, front to back. Wring your mop into another bucket. Throw out the water and the wringings from the back door of the house if you have a back door. Rinse out the bucket and mop and pour the rinse water down the toilet. If you don’t have a back door, flush the water down the toilet and rinse out the bucket and mop and flush that water, too.

Spell – Grounding Candle Dressing

(YOU CAN COPY AND PASTE ANY SPELLS POSTED TO A DOCUMENT TO PRINT AND/OR SAVE ON YOUR COMPUTER)

Grounding Candle Dressing

This candle dressing is meant to be used when casting grounding spells, while decompressing after a challenging day, or when you are struggling to keep your mind perfectly planted in reality. The dried plant ingredients are best found in your own backyard or part because they’re directly connected to the earth spirits where you live, which makes their energy more immediate, and accessible.

For anointing use

3 drops patchouli oil

1/2 teaspoon of dirt from your yard or near by area

1/2 teaspoon dried flower petals of any kind from near your home

1/2 teaspoon dried crushed root from any tree in your vicinity.

Anoint a brown candle with the oil and then roll it in the dry materials. Put it in a holder and place it as near to the center of your home as possible. Allow it to safely burn, anchoring you in the here and now.

An alternative is to anoint 4 small chime candles and place them safely in the cardinal directions around where you are sitting. Spend sometime relaxing within their glow, take deep breathes and reconnecting to the earth.

Spell – White magic Jupiter spell

(YOU CAN COPY AND PASTE ANY SPELLS POSTED TO A DOCUMENT TO PRINT AND/OR SAVE ON YOUR COMPUTER)

White magic Jupiter spell

by Tina Caro

This white magick spell is well known and is a simple ritual to obtain money, thanks to the help of the force of the planet Jupiter.

If we want to give more strength to the ritual, the Thursday that must be chosen should be in a period of the new moon shortly after midnight.

Ingredients:

How to perform it:

Take the banknote and fold it into four parts.

Now place it in the copper container.

Create an ideal circle with the green candles around the copper container.

Now arrange the white candles in a circle around the green ones as well.

Then draw a circle with the coarse salt that encloses everything.

You will then have the copper container in the center surrounded by the green candles, which in turn are surrounded by the white candles, which in turn are enclosed by the circle of salt.

This composition is a powerful catalyst for positive energies and is also used in other propitiatory rites.

Now, light the candles, starting with the green ones, and moving clockwise.

While lighting the candles, repeat as if it were a chant the following formula several times and always in a multiple number of three (three, six, nine…).

Leave a certain amount of time between the lighting of one candle and the other.

“Sun, cover me with gold,
dress me in silver, Moon,
give me riches, great Jupiter”

Let the candles burn out completely. Then take the copper container and put it in a safe place away from prying eyes (obviously you have to leave the banknote inside).

It can be used again to repeat the ritual as often as you need it, always in the new moon period, always on Thursday.

Animal Spells (Magickal Partners) c. 2014

Animal Spells (Magickal Partners)

Is it time to measure the cat for a magick wand? Perhaps the parrot needs to learn some chants? Maybe there is a set of dominations spells so that the dog can force you to walk him on the schedule he chooses? No, spells regarding animals are still meant for people to perform, although some benefit from some animal assistance. Many of these spells involve protecting animal from physical and spiritual harm. Others benefit humans, through the power and gifts of animals.

Animals who participate in your spells and rituals, enhancing them with their own powers, tend to fall into one of two categories:

*  Familiars

*  Allies

The concept of an animal as a pet is a modern one. Those who possessed this concept of interspecies friendship ahead of their time often found themselves condemned for witchcraft on grounds of familiarity with demonic creatures like cats, birds, rabbits, black dogs, reptiles, and amphibians. Sound like what’d find for sale in any local pet store? Well, familiar animals are exactly that: Familiar. The classic witch’s cat, rabbit or toad, a familiar is an actual, individual animal with whom one can live and share an intense psychic, personal bond. If this characterizes a relationship you have ever had with an animal, then you have had a familiar, regardless of whether you engaged in magickal practices together. A dog who won’t sleep unless it’s under your bed, the cat who follows you from room to room the bird who spends the day perched on your should: these all qualify as familiars.

A familiar’s presence may be sufficient to spark and enhance your magick, whether there is any conscious active involvement or not. For others, the psychic and magickal bonds possible between animal and human create profound power and satisfaction and working closely with other species–those species that usually do not life amongst people—-may discover psychic and magickal bonds, as well. Wild animals that remain wild can also qualify as familiars, though invariably they choose you rather than the other way round. These include those birds or bees that, taking a liking to someone in the family, stop by daily. Scandinavian witches traditionally favored flies as familiars. Wild dolphins occasionally single out as individual human and initiate a relationship. It is not unknown for people living on the edge of woods or in a wilderness place to develop a special relationship with an individual creature.

A familiar is a specific, individual creature with whom you have established a psychic bond. Of course, the limits the creatures with which you can magickally interact. What if your magick requires a rhinoceros or crocodile? What if it requires a dragon or unicorn?

A familiar may be considered an animal ally but animal allied transcend the boundaries of familiars. Animal allies are a form of spiritual relationship: because the relationship may occur entirely in the realm of spirit, any animal may be approached. The presiding spirit of the animal may also be approached, rather than any individual creature.

A person may have as many familiars and/or allies as needed.

Spell – Otherworlds* Meditation

Celtic Shaman Meditation

When journeying into the Otherworlds* you need to be in control of yourself all the time in order to be safe when traveling to, in, and back from Otherworlds.*

Sit somewhere comfortable in a pleasant setting. Do whatever you need to do to not be interrupted during your meditation time. Make sure to let others in your home you need quite time all by yourself. Shut off your cellphone, and any other electronics that are in the room you will be using to meditate. If you are outside and it is at all possible be far enough away from playgrounds, roads, other houses, and other manmade noises. First call upon Archangel Michael or your ancestors or your Spirit Gurdian to enclose you in a bubble of the white light of protection. Do NOT forget this step as it may be very important if you run into anything nasty on your travel. Make sure you have a glass of water sitting close to you to drink when you come back from your journey by sipping as it will help you refocus on the material world, we live in also you may be a little dehydrated when you come back.

I have an unused set of railroad tracks that run very close to my home. To the left of them is a good size steep hill of a small forest. To the left of them is a decent size tree line. The tracks lead into a forested area the butts up against an old quarry that has been used in many years the locals say. I have mentioned about all the different wildlife I see on an almost daily basis – deer, rabbits, fox, coyote, squirrels, a couple of groundhogs, bald eagles, hawks, sparrows, finches, cardinals, robins, and birds I have no idea what they are called. This forested aera and quarry are where they live so I am careful to take a can of air with me in case the coyote or fox don’t want me around…lol. I have used it once in the over 2 years I have lived in this area and that was at an off leashed dog running straight at me! ok I got a little off track here, any who this is where I enjoy meditating the most even with snow on the ground. Star [Chihuahua will be 11 years old on March 30, 2023] loves to go explorering with me but Cleo likes to stay home now that she is getting older [Min-Pin14 years old on February 11, 2023].

In our home which is really small, 5 rooms including our bathroom a small mudroom. I will take a favorite soft blanket into the mudroom, that is carpeted, light my incense and candles. There is no door but Big Dawg a.k.a Lord Beltane is very considerate and stays out of the kitchen when I go to meditate. I have just enough room there to set up a small table to use for rituals, ceremonies and spellwork when working by myself. I allow no electronic devises in that room except a light and our smallish deep freeze.

OK back to our meditating to travel to Otherworlds*… If you meet any type of being or Spirit, you are fearful of remember the white light of protection bubble you have called upon Archangel Michael, or an ancestor, or Spirit Guardian to enclose you in while you are traveling and retreat from the Otherworld as quickly as possible! But sit quietly in the half in and half out of your mediative state slowing drinking the water and becoming more in tune with the physical things around you. If you just quickly come out of meditative state some not so good things can happen like feeling very dizzy and disorientated. You may also feel your heart racing and either hyperventilate or have a hard time takin in more than a very shallow breath.

Many people, including have tried meditating before going to sleep at night and chose to lay down on their bed to meditate. I can promise 8 out of 10 will usually fall asleep as the meditation can turn into a relaxation exercise. I do my meditations in the early morning or after our fur kids have gone out for the last time at night depending if I feel like staying indoors or going outside. It also depends on how stress filled my day is sometimes I do one in the morning to wake up more and one in the evening to relax, center, and ground myself before going to bed.

*Otherworlds is a Celtic term when going into other realms, demission or astral worlds.

I WILL BE DOING A WORKSHOP VIDEO ON BASIC MEDITATION SKILLS THAT CAN HELP THOSE NEW TO IT AND THOSE HAVING A DIFFICULT TIME MEDITATING.  IT WILL BW AVAILABLE NEXT MONTH ON PATREON

Spell – Banishing Candle Dressing

(YOU CAN COPY AND PASTE ANY SPELLS POSTED TO A DOCUMENT TO PRINT AND/OR SAVE ON YOUR COMPUTER)

Banishing Candle Dressing

This mixture is best used on a black candle (SIDE NOTE: A white candle turned upside can be used as a black candle), but any color will do in a real pinch. The combination of ingredients in this dressing create a strong odor that may be less than pleasant. Remember, its purpose is to repel unwanted energy, people, or things – not to attract them with lovely aromas! You can use this dressing in conjunction with any banishing spell or on its own. You can also dress a black candle and simply sit near it while it burns when you feel negative vibrations or entities are clinging to you.

For anointing, use 1 drop of rosemary oil and 1 drop of tea tree oil. For dry ingredients, use 1 teaspoon dried garlic, 1 teaspoon sea salt, and 1 teaspoon dried onion flakes.

If you feel an unfriendly presence in your space or the lingering energy of a negative situation, you can dress a black candle, place it in a holder (SIDE NOTE: A container that will catch the drips but is fireproof.), and carefully carry it from room to room. As the candlelight permeates all the nooks and crannies of the house, it wards off all undesirable vibrations.
