INGREDIENTS

  • Purple Candle

DIRECTIONS

  • Create your sacred space in your usual way. You may choose to cast a circle, as well.
  • Hold your unlit purple candle in your hand and close your eyes. Let your anxiety and stress flow from your hands and into your candle.
  • Now, take three deep, cleansing breaths. As you inhale, envision a white light flowing through you. This white light is full of peace, calm, and positivity. As you exhale, envision a murky gray leaving you. This is your stress, anxiety, and negativity.
  • Open your eyes and place your candle on your altar. Then, take your match or lighter and light your candle.
  • Gently gaze at your candle flame and say the following:By the gentle glow of this candle’s light,
    I banish anxiety into the night.
    With the candle’s flame and magic’s grace,
    I find serenity in this sacred space.

    With every flicker, let peace arise,
    As I chant these words to the skies.
    Anxiety, you shall now depart,
    From the depths of my soul and my heart.

    In the name of peace and inner calm,
    I banish anxiety with this balm.
    Anxiety be gone by the candle’s gleam,
    As I will it, so mote it be!

  • Close your eyes and spend a few moments in quiet reflection, allowing the spell to do the work. Take several deep breaths, letting the anxiety and negativity flow from you like water down a stream.
  • If it is safe to do so, let the candle burn all the way out. Then dispose of the remains in the trash. If you can’t let the candle burn all the way down, extinguish the flame and light it again if you repeat the spell.

Beltane – Spring is Here! Time to Get Your Gardens Ready

Welcome to springtime in the southern hemisphere. As the warmer weather comes a witches thoughts turns to sowing a garden. A garden can mean a different thing to each of us. For me it is getting my physical seeds ready for my veggie garden, to check to see if my herbs survived the winter or if I need to start new ones. Spiritually it means starting new seeds/paths for me to be able to grow to be closer to Mother Earth, the Universal energies, my students, and my teachers. To be able in the fall to reap full benefits of all that I have learned and put them into practice whether it is in my own personal life or helping my students with something. This year I need to plant new seeds and seedlings for all my flower gardens because early heavy rains in this part of the country washed away two inches of top soil in all my flower beds.

What does planting a garden mean to you? Do you plant flowers, vegetables, herbs, goals or a little of all of these or any combination? Remember whatever you plant will come to fruition with the right amount of love, watering (spiritually this can be communicating with each other in the pagan community or even be emailing me to say hi), sunshine (remember to thank the Sun God) and nurturing from within yourself (positive thoughts and affirmations) and from others in our community.

Beltane is a cross-quarter holiday on the Wheel of the Year that honors the return of summer, the return of the fertility of the Earth, and the element of fire. It’s a nature-based holiday that many of our ancestors celebrated for a long time, and now we get to carry that tradition forward.

Like Samhain, Beltane is a time when the veil is thin. This holiday is a particularly beautiful time to connect with nature spirits, as well as any other beings you’re wanting to create a connection with.

At Beltane, we honor the goddess as part of us. We honor the body, pleasure, sensuality, and sexuality. We bask in the fiery energy of the sun and the fertile energy that’s present.

Breaking Spells – Candle Pentagram

You’ll need to set this spell out on a table or altar space that won’t be disturbed for the duration of the spell. Your supplies are:

  • Salt (fine, not coarse)
  • 5 white candles
  • Rosemary (oil or herbs)

On your table, sprinkle a fine line of salt to draw a pentacle. It doesn’t have to be perfect but try to get it somewhat symmetrical. At each point of the star, add a few drops of rosemary oil or a sprinkle of dry rosemary (yes, right on the table top). Then set 1 white candle at each point.

Light each candle, starting with the one at the top. After each one, say the words:

By the dark and the light
Your spell ends tonight

Let the candles burn for one hour, then snuff them out. Do the same thing the next time, except let them burn all the way out.

Leave the candle stubs in place for another 5 days, so the entire spell is in place for a week. After that, any negative magick against you will be gone.

If curse breaking spells aren’t exactly what you are looking for, there are banishing spells or binding spells that might be more suitable for your situation.

Spell For April’s Full Moon

April Full Pink Moon Manifestations

Write Down Your Manifestations

Putting your manifestations and intentions in writing is always a good idea, especially during a full moon. When manifesting, make sure to write about the things you’re looking for in your new life in the present tense, as if you already have them. If you’re manifesting love, Samay recommends jotting down all the of qualities that you are looking for in your next partner on a piece of paper. Then, hold the paper “up to the light of the Full Moon and visualize yourself with your ideal partner,” the astrologer says.

When you’re done, don’t forget to fold the note and store it under your pillow. “Sleep on it for the night and trust that the universe will bring you the next soulmate,” says Samay.

Express Gratitude

Gratitude is one of the key ways to use the law of attraction, so if you’re trying to manifest something into your life, expressing gratitude for the blessings in your life is a must. To do this, Samay suggests making a list of the people who have “contributed to your success and well-being” by listing out everything they’ve done to help you, as well as the things you admire the most about them.

“During the full moon, take a moment to read the list and express gratitude for each person on it,” shares Samay. Then, to keep the good vibes coming, “visualize yourself receiving more recognition and support from the people who are about to enter your life.”

Let Go Of Negativity

It’s easier said than done, but if there were ever a time to remove the people and habits in your life that are holding you back, it would be now. Even if you can’t find anything specific worth eliminating, Samay recommends using this time to “let go of any negative thoughts or emotions that are causing you stress.”

“During the Full Moon, light a candle and meditate on the feeling of lightness and clarity that comes with letting go,” Samay tells Bustle. “Invite your spirit guides to cleanse and purify your magnetic field to bring in balance and harmony. Envision yourself feeling calm and balanced as you move forward.”

The full moon shouldn’t just be an emotional release — it can be a material one, too. “Declutter[ing] is one of the best ways to get rid of any physical or emotional clutter that is weighing you down,” Samay explains. To make room for the manifestations coming into your life, Samay proposes giving your home a complete overhaul by clearing out your space and “organizing your belongings.”

Elemental Magic Spells

Many people who practice witchcraft like to use elemental magic spells, as it is a very natural form of magic. It’s also much easier to learn (and remember) the basic qualities and attributes of 4 elements rather than learn hundreds of other correspondences for herbs, stones or oils. Though it may be simpler than some other spells, elemental magic spells can still be powerful.

Air

First off, we have the element of air. The qualities that air represents include: ideas, inspiration, creativity, intelligence, travel, freedom, new beginnings and mental clarity. If you want a spell for any of these ideas, you should incorporate air into your magick. Items like feathers, bells, incense and quartz all have air attributes. Keep reading for more air spells

Earth

Next is earth. This is an element that stands for grounding, all forms of nature, money and prosperity, growth, rules and responsibility. If you want to represent earth on your altar, you can use a pentacle, stones, or a bowl of earth or rock salt. For earth spells, crystals and herbs are often used since they are natural items directly from the earth.

Fire

Next up for elemental magic spells is fire. Candle spells are the most popular kind of witchcraft spell, and are a good example of using fire. Fire should be used for spells involving passion, energy, strength, creativity and anger. Items for fire include candles (obviously) as well as volcanic glass, and the athame (though some traditions have the athame associated with air). Fire spells usually involve candles, but not always.

Water

And lastly we come to water. Water energies are often used in spells for love, fertility, friendship, healing and sleep. But spells don’t often call for actual water. Crystals like aquamarine and moonstone make great “water” additions, as do herbs like lilac. A chalice is the usual altar tool to represent the element of water. If you do use water in your water spells, try to use naturally collected rainwater.

Here are 3 very simple glamour spells that are effective for both beginner and advanced students of witchcraft. If you choose to cast a circle during your practice, make sure to go ahead and do that before beginning these spells.

A Glamour Spell For Physical Beauty

For this spell, you will need:

A mirror

A bowl of rose water (made with essence of rose oil or with rose petals)

First, you will need to leave the bowl with rose water under the moon overnight. Try to plan with the moon phase or sign, depending on the outcome you want. For example, the Libra moon would provide very refined beauty, while the Aries moon would enhance bold beauty.

The next day, sit in front of the mirror with your rose water. Place your hands over the rose water with your palms facing the bowl.

Close your eyes and visualize the highest version of yourself. I recommend picturing yourself as you actually appear, then making small adjustments. This spell shouldn’t be too drastic. Start small so that you can actually see the effects.

Once the picture is cemented, describe your ideal image to your bowl of water. Send energy out using your hands. Describe yourself three times in the same way.

Spend as much time as you need sending your energy into the water. When you’re ready, wash your face and hands with the rose water.

For best results, repeat this spell daily until you see strong effects.

A Glamour Spell To Enchant Your Beauty Products

It’s easy to enchant any beauty product that you wish. If you want to hide your dark circles, then enchant your concealer. For larger eyes, enchant your eyeshadow, mascara, or eyeliner.

To enchant a beauty product, simply gather your energy, hold the product in your hands, and take a few minutes to send your intentions into the product.

The more energy you can raise the better, and the more specific your visualization is when you send your energy into the product, the more powerful the spell will be.

I like to enchant my cream, foundation, or shampoo, because they tend to be used most often.

An enchantment will only last for so long (mine usually work for 2-3 weeks), so you’ll need to repeat this spell as necessary.

A Ritual Bath Glamour Spell For Aphrodite

If you work with deities, or even if you’re interested in working with Aphrodite for the purpose of this glamour spell, then this beauty ritual bath is wonderful for enhanced beauty.

Before the bath, set out an offering for Aphrodite. This offering can be dried roses, petals, wine, or anything else that you feel represents the goddess of love.

Set up your bathroom in a way that feels pleasant and romantic to you. I like to use pink or red candles, rose petals, rose oil essence, bath salts, mirrors, makeup, and anything else that represents beauty.

Think of the bath as your giant cauldron and add ingredients to it one by one as it fills.

Once the bath is ready, hop in and focus on your intention. Spend 20 minutes or so picturing exactly how you want to appear to others and how this will make you feel. Send your gathered energy into the bath, then picture the water infusing your skin.

If it feels right to you, chant the words:

Beauty within, beauty without,

I am fabulous, without a doubt.

Once you feel that the energy has been absorbed by your skin, the spell is finished.

What You’ll Need:

How to Conjure:
-Write your desire in one word on the match. Being so small, it may get tricky. Don’t get frustrated. Write as neatly as you can and call it good! =P-Before lighting the match, take a moment to envision your spell coming to fruition. For example, if you’re seeking a new home, imagine walking into your new house. What does the entryway look like? What color are the walls? What does the living room smell like? Where will you put the couch? Really visualize your goal.

-Once your desire is crisp and colorful in your mind, say the following:

With the strike of a match, this spell is aflame,
Quickly manifesting, my desires attained.
– Light the match and allow it to burn as completely as possible without burning your fingertips! With one deep breath and the unfailing belief your spell will manifest, blow out the match before it reaches your fingers.
-Dunk the match in water to ensure it’s entirely extinguished.
-If you have house plants, push the remaining bit of match deep into the soil. Otherwise, take the small bit outside and bury. You shouldn’t need a shovel, just kind of shove it into the dirt with your finger. You know, nature’s tool! 😉 Alternatively, you may also toss the remaining bit into a fire.

So, unless you want some who only loves you because of a spell you put on them then go for it. But if you want someone to love you because they feel that emotion towards you then please do not do this spell. Instructions:

  1. Tightly pack your glass vial or jar with the ingredients in any order that appeals to you, being sure to charge each ingredient for happiness as you add it to the bottle! How do you charge an item? Simply hold the item in your hands and visualize yourself at your absolute happiest, tell the item that you are charging it for happiness, and imagine it surrounded by pink light!
  2. After you’ve added all of the dry ingredients to the bottle, add a few drops of charged rose oil and a drop of the gold essence, which is an optional energy super charger.
  3. Close your bottle and charge the bottle for happiness! You can set parameters on the bottle by visualizing and saying those parameters aloud. We charged ours for happiness within 7 feet of the bottle, because I keep mine in my purse around my desk at work!

The act of cleansing is the removal of all past energy from an item. Even with brand-new ritual items, unwanted energy can emanate from a variety of sources. Almost any product involves the energy of multiple people who handle it along the way, from its construction to its final sale.

If you buy something used, it already has a lot of energy from the person who owned it before you.

Why Cleanse an object before Ritual use?

Objects do store energy. And you don’t want to use a magical tool that has negative energies or energies you don’t know about because it will affect your work.

Because of this, you should cleanse all of your magical and ritual items. This includes your athame, robe, and any other tools you plan to use in rituals or keep on your altar.

Even the candles you use and the item you use to engrave sigils onto your candles should be cleansed.

How to Cleanse an Object

There are various ways to cleanse a magical object, depending on what you have on hand and the material of the item itself.

Cleansing is a rather easy process. Start by cleaning the objects normally and taking care of them as you normally would. For example, any stones should be cleaned with water and proper cleaners. Cast iron may be cleaned using salt and oil or any other way you want. Candles and other tools can be dusted off and cleaned. Cleaning and sanitizing drinking and eating vessels is essential. Then continue to clean it energetically.

Common Methods to Cleanse an Object

  • Smudging is an old ritual used by shamanic peoples all over the world. To cleanse an object, simply pass it through the smoke. It’s best to use a purifying scent like sage, sandalwood, lavender, or rosemary, but use what seems best for you.
  • You can also use your breath to cleanse and purify your tool by grounding and centering yourself first and then focusing your breath on the object.
  • Use the weather.  You may leave your tools outside, ideally on a windy day, and let the breeze take care of the work for you.
  • You can pass things over a candle flame, but be careful and make sure the object won’t get damaged. You’ll need some visualization abilities for this one since you’ll need to imagine the flame growing and surrounding the object to purify it.
  • Another natural cleanser is sunlight. Put your ritual items in bright sunlight for at least an hour to burn off any bad energy. This will leave them clean and ready to be charged with your energy for the best results.
  • Moonlight works similarly and is preferred for any objects that may be faded or otherwise affected by the sun’s light and heat. This is especially important when it comes to some gems and plants that you might want to use in spells.
  • You can wash the object in running water, like from a faucet or a stream, and say a simple prayer over it while imagining all the bad energy leaving the object and white light filling it. You may alternatively submerge the object in water that has been added a pinch of salt or a few drops of a purifying essential oil. If the object is very fragile, simply sprinkle it with a few drops of salt water.
  • If the object is resilient, you can bury it for at least a day in dirt or salt. Any negative energy will be absorbed by the soil or salt. Sea salt has been used for a long time to clean up dense energies, especially in crystals and candles. Simply bury the object for at least a day in a basin of salt, then remove and rinse – make sure to get rid of the salt. You can change this method by mixing sea salt with water and soaking or sprinkling your objects. But, depending on what they are made of, not everything lasts well in a salt bath, so you should do some research first.
  • Visualization is the simplest method. Take the object in your hands, and visualize a clean, pure white light coming through your hands and into the object. This will flush out any bad energy and fill the object with pure, clean energy.
  • Sound is another effective approach to releasing and breaking up stagnant energy; try ringing a bell or some chimes over your more delicate ritual items and ingredients to cleanse them for magical usage.

Use your discretion and be realistic when it comes to cleansing. Metal should not be soaked in seawater overnight because it will rust. Similarly, you should avoid placing paper near a fire.
