The Witches Spell for Wednesday, February 13th

Love Spell number 9

“Uniting Ladder” — a love binding spell for a new love, or to have an old love return to you.

Items Needed:

A string or thread from the target’s clothing about 9 (or preferably more) inches long.

A string from your clothing of the same length A Red Candle (any type)

A tall red taper candle

A drop of the person’s scent (this would be their favorite cologne/perfume, after shave, shampoo, whatever they smell like the most)

Dried rose petals

Vanilla extract, about 1 tablespoon (1/2 ounce)

A rose quartz (washed in hot soapy water and rinsed well)

1 ounce of rum

2 cups of fresh water (spring water, rainwater, collected dew, and distilled water, whatever you prefer)

Salt (any type)

Incense (any type but musk or vanilla are appropriate)

Glass phial or bottle

Maintain focus on your target coming to you in love during the entire working and as often as you can until the spell is fulfilled.

Potion Preparation: Bring the fresh water to a boil for 5 minutes. Turn down the heat very low so the mixture stays warm but does not boil. Add the rose petals while saying:

‘Dancing on the wind I go,

To aid ________’s love to flow

His/her love will now fully bloom

His/her desire for me will come soon!’

Reconfirm your focus of the target loving you and coming to you. Add the vanilla extract while saying:

‘Sweet charm, not meant to harm,

Evoke his/her desire to take my arm.

Deep within him/her I summon it,

To come to me as I see fit!’

Reconfirm your focus; remove the mixture from the stove. Add a pinch of salt while saying:

‘No one may interfere magickally,

This spell can only be undone by me.’

Reconfirm your focus; add the ounce of rum while saying:

‘Drunk with love he/she will come to me,

No other love will he/she see.

Our love will grow in purity,

And once it is true, this spell is set free.’

Let the mixture cool and put it in a nice glass bottle with the rose quartz. This should be a bottle that has an appealing shape and is worthy of containing such a potion. (Do not use a bottle that used to contain something strong smelling like cologne) Now comes the actual spell casting, so far you have completed the potion, which is an ingredient of the actual spell.

Timing: This part of the working should start about 15 minutes before sunrise on a Friday. It should be concluded by 1 hour after sunrise so make sure you know it from start to finish in your mind. Check the almanac (on the links page) or your local weather station for exact sunrise times.

Begin: Clear an open area that you can work in and are comfortable in, this should be approximately a 6-foot diameter space. You should not feel cramped. Find some sort of table with at least 1-foot of top surface space. Place the table in the center of the area you have cleared and assemble the two candles, the strings, the potion, a bowl of salt, incense, target’s scent (cologne, etc)

Armed with the salt and starting in the north of your working area, cast a circle by making a salt circle. Cast is clockwise (deosil) while saying:

‘I cast this circle to protect me from bane.

I cast this circle to contain my energy until it is open.

The circle is strong and will hold true.’

Light the red candle and facing south say:

‘Burning passion and desire,

Arise in _______ like a burning fire!’

Place the candle on the table, pick up the taper candle and anoint it with the target’s scent. With the cologne or whatever on your index finger, start in the middle of the candle and move down. Go all around the candles bottom half-only rubbing in downward strokes. Now start in the middle again and rub up to the wick all around the candle only in upward strokes. Focus on your target coming to you in love.

Take both strings, hold them together and tie a knot at one end while focusing and saying:

‘I bind this knot and bring _____ ‘s love.’

Tie another knot at the opposite end of the parallel strings while saying:

‘I bind this knot and bring ______’s desire.’

Tie another knot near the first one on the opposite side:

‘I bind this knot and bring ______’s faithfulness.’

Tie another knot next to the second one you tied:

‘I bind ______’s love to me.’

Another next to the third one you tied:

‘Come to me, so mote it be!’

Wrap the cord around the anointed taper at the base and light it while saying:

‘The fire of love burns in his heart!’

Light the incense while saying:

‘This smoke does hereby evoke,

His commitment to me that he cannot revoke!’

Sit and focus on your goal, you may wish to chant the following:

‘________ to me, so mote it be.’

After a few minutes, pick up the red candle and let three drops of wax fall on the bottle of potion (not in it, just on the lid or glass) and say:

‘This spell is sealed!’

Put down the candle, remove the knotted cord, open the potion and dip the cord into it once while saying:

‘I infuse this cord,

The spell is stored.

So long as knots remain,

His/her love for me will never wane.’

Recap the potion and hold it above the incense so that smoke surrounds it. Turn it so the smoke reaches all sides and say:

‘This smoke seals his love for me!’

Repeat the ‘smudging’ with incense for the knotted core and say:

‘His love is bound!’

Place all items back on the table and go around the circle counterclockwise (widdershins) while saying:

‘The circle is open,

The spell is released.

His/her love for me,

Will never cease!’

Take the potion outside so that sunlight will infuse it. Set it in the sun for as long as remains of the hour past sunrise. Take the potion in and store it in a safe space. Each day place a drop of the potion on your forehead, each breast and your groin area (4 drops total) carry the cord with you at all times and keep it near you when you sleep. Do not let anyone else see it. You can optionally store the cord in a safe space. Whenever the opportunity arises, sneak a FEW, 3 is best, drops of the potion is food or drink that your target will consume.

This will work, but when is hard to determine as it depends on many factors, among them, your personal power and confidence, timing, the target’s will, etc.

Poppet Magick for a Malicious Person

Poppet Magick for a Malicious Person

Items You Will Need:

Grave dirt or earth
Rosemary
Sage
Piece of smoky quartz
Piece of amethyst
Some item from the person

A poppet can be sewn to represent the malicious person.  Fill it with earth (grave dirt if you can find it), rosemary, sage, a piece of smoky quartz and  a piece of amethyst. Also enclose a piece of the person’s fingernails, a lock of hair, or  another personal item. Handwriting can be enclosed if you have nothing else.  Photos can be used also.

To Bind An Enemy Poppet

TO BIND AN ENEMY

You Will Need:

A poppet to represent the person you wish to bind

Patchouli leaves

Frankincense

Charcoal block

Black candle

Red ribbon

White cloth

Make a poppet to represent the person you wish to bind.  Burn patchouli leaves and frankincense on a charcoal block.  Light a black candle and pass the poppet through the incense smoke saying:

“Hecate, great Goddess of life and death,
I ask you to acknowledge that this Creation
of cloth be known as Flesh and blood of.(name).

Wrap the poppet tightly in red ribbon, paying close attention to the area you wish to bind,  i.e.: the genitals of a rapist, the mouth of a slanderer. As you wrap, say:

Between the worlds in Hecate’s eyes
you (name) are bound powerless.
In the eyes of this world, you are harmless.

Imagine a heavy net made from a white light. Imagine the net clinging to the poppet.  Wrap it in a piece of white cloth and bury it close to the person’s house  (or by the ocean and bid the sea to bless it).

Naming Your Poppet Magick

Name Your Poppet Magick

First you will need to form a bond between the person and the doll.  Use this simple naming ritual:

“Little one, I made you and now
I give you life I name you (person’s name)
Her body is your body
Her breath is your breath
Her passion is your passion
Her blood is your blood
Though separate you were
Now you are one.”

Make Your Own Worry Dolls

Here is how to make your own extra strength worry dolls using your poppet. Make some tiny little poppets as above – 7 would be good! – and find 7 different coloured pieces of string or thin ribbon (tip – you can pull a string from a piece of fabric). Assign one topic to each colour – let’s say:

Purple: Magic/Spiritual/Religious worries

Blue: Work/Study worries

Green: Money problems

Pink: Love problems

Red: Physical/health/self esteem body problems

Orange: Emotional Problems

Yellow: Thought/Intellect/memory worries.

Tie one of these around each moppet’s neck, line them all up and one at a time, give them your worries to worry about. They will not only worry for you, but also in real voodoo doll fashion set to work and go and resolve these worries for you. There’s one thing though. If you start worrying about a worry you have given over to a worry doll, you are taking the worry BACK to YOURSELF and the spell is broken.  Should this happen accidentally, go back to the doll and give it the problem afresh. When the problem is resolved, you can take the ribbon off the voodoo doll and it returns to a neutral waiting state until you want to use it again for something.

How to Make a Poppet

How to Make a Poppet

Example of poppets made of felt and fashioned from the gingerbread pattern. Poppets have been used for centuries as tools of magical intent and most often for healing purposes. When people hear of poppets they oftentimes associate them with voodoo dolls. In recent years, pagans have helped to refine the poppet’s tarnished reputation. For the purpose of this, we will work through the basic poppet construction for a healing purpose.

You’ll Need:

Green material

Natural filler (ie: cotton)–nothing synthetic

Spearmint

Needle

Thread (made of natural material)

Scissors

Straight pins

Simple human pattern (the generic “gingerbread man” form works well)

pen or pencil

marker(s)

Step 1

Before you begin, sit for a few minutes and relax. Take some deep breaths and focus on the purpose you envision for this poppet. The emotional energy you put forth will resonate from the poppet along with the magical intent. If you wish, ask Spirit (or whichever Power you feel most comfortable working with) to be with you and to guide you as you make this poppet and that your purpose be accomplished as you intend. Keep healing, positive thoughts as you start this working. Picture the person healthy, happy and energetic with no sign of the illness, or remnants thereof.

Step 2

Basic gingerbread pattern for a poppet. Cut material to the dimensions needed in order to make the size poppet you wish. Remember to cut the material large enough that you leave some material along the outer edge.

Step 3

Cut the gingerbread forms from the material. Line up the edges of both forms so that they are even. Use the straight pins to hold the forms in place.

Step 4

Stitch the two pieces of material together leaving a large enough opening to insert the filler and spearmint.

Step 5

Fill the poppet with the spearmint and filler (alternating one then the other until the doll is filled). Once you have filled the poppet, you can use the straight pins to hold the area together until you stitch it closed.

Step 6

Use a marker to write the person’s name, your intent or to even draw the person’s features. Get creative! But ALWAYS have positive intent and purpose while making the poppet. This goes for all poppets, not just those for healing.

Step 7

If you asked for the guidance of Spirit at the start, be sure to thank Spirit.

Tips & Warnings

Keep your intent in mind, and in focus, from the moment you start the poppet til you finish.

For the purpose of this, depending on the size of the poppet you are making, use your discretion as to the amount of filler and spearmint used.

Other possible herbs for healing: Eucalyptus, Rowan, Cinnamon, Sage, Peppermint, Hops and Sandalwood. (Use alone or in combination.)

Choose the color of the material and herbs used for future poppets based on your intent.

You can use one herb alone or in combination with others.

Feel free to include stones associated with your intent as well.

NEVER imbue a poppet with anger, spite or any other malignant intent. Remember, that which you send out will return to you in time.

NEVER conduct any workings that would impose your will onto another person. DO NOT become involved in that person’s life without their asking you to and giving their consent. Harm none.

Such workings as above should NEVER be used in place of seeking the help of a medical doctor. All diagnoses should come from a licensed professional.

The Witches Spell for February 12th – The Boomerang Spell

THE BOOMERANG SPELL

Reverse any negativity or hex being sent your way.

Anoint a purple candle with Rosemary oil. On a piece of white paper write the following in black ink: ” All blocks are now removed.” Fold the paper three times. Light the candle and burn the paper in a bowl, ashtray or any fireproof dish. Invoke the power of fire and it’s elemental spirits. Repeat three times:

” Firedrakes and salamanders,

Aid me in my quest,

Protect me from all evil forms,

Turn back the negativity being sent.”

After the third repetition say:

” So mote it be.”

Life As The Witch – Things that Weaken or Ruin Spellcasting

7rf%20W%2013

Things that Weaken or Ruin Spellcasting

There are some circumstances that can weaken or even destroy the spell you have worked so hard to cast, so you want to be aware of and avoid the following:

Drug or alcohol use: You should never cast a spell with anything other than a clear head. For one thing, it is insulting to the Gods to come into sacred space under the influence of mind-altering substances. For another, it interferes with focus. (Yes, there are some folks who believe in the use of drugs to deepen spiritual practice; they are entitled to their opinions, and I would never argue with them, but it has been my experience that nothing destroys magickal concentration and focus faster than coming into circle high or drunk.)

Extreme emotional states: As I said above, you need to have a clear head in order to do your best spellcasting. Coming in to your sacred space filled with anger or fear or any other very strong emotion will not only stand in the way of clarity and focus, but you may cast a spell you later wished you hadn’t. This doesn’t mean that you can’t do spellwork when things are bad—sometimes this is when we need magick the most. But try to achieve as calm a state as possible before starting the work. Do some meditation, take a long bath or walk, repeat some calming affirmation. At the very least, take slow, deep breaths and concentrate on the light and love of the Gods until your head is in a better place.

Mixed feelings about the spellwork: If you’re not sure whether the spell you are casting is the right thing to do or not, that doubt may undermine the will you need to feed the spell. Never cast a spell unless you are certain of your path in that instance. This is also true of the times when you are uncertain of your goal. That confusion will sap your spell of strength, so it is better to wait until you have a solid goal in mind, and the will to back it up.

Negative intent: This is not to say that you can’t cast a spell that would have a negative impact on someone else; for better or for worse, free will allows for this. However, you should bear in mind that not only do the powers of the Universe often not allow these types of spells to work, it is not unusual for them to rebound on the one what casts them–either immediately or sometime down the line.

Lack of focus: This is the main reason for not coming into circle under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or heavy emotions; they will simply make it too difficult to maintain the focus needed to create a powerful spell and send it out into the world. But other things can get in way of focus, too. If you can’t find a quiet, private place to cast your spell (the kids are running around screaming, the dog is barking, the neighbors are arguing at the top of their lungs) you are better off waiting for a different time. It is almost impossible to get good results when you cast a spell in the midst of chaos.

Writing and casting your own spells can be a fun and empowering part of a well-balanced witchcraft practice. If you follow the few simple suggestions laid out above and sidestep the (easily avoidable) pitfalls that can stand in the way of successful spellcasting, all Witches can create spells to enhance and entrance their lives.

Empowering Your Sacred Space

Empowering Your Sacred Space

Purpose: To reduce the needs of shields and circles in a small area,

(i.e. consecration in a very different way).

When you have found a place where you feel safe and empowered, stand in the center and close your eyes. Feel the energies around you. Sense the forces that dwell within your space and say something like this:

Forces and powers, around me do spin, If thou art good,

I welcome thee in With love and Light, I charge this space,

To work my magick within this place.

Spread out your arms towards the boundary of your circle, visualizing white or purple light sprouting from your fingertips and forming a circle about you. Say this charm:

Forces of Air, Forces of Wind,

Protect me here, the power begin.

Forces of Fire, Forces of Light,

Protect this circle, both day and night.

Forces of Water, Forces of Sea,

Protected forever, this circle shall be.

Forces of Earth, Forces of stone,

Power awakened by me, alone.

Forever and Ever, As long as I live,

My powers and love, this circle I give.

So shall it be.

Touch the floor and see it ripple as the tide of the sea does. See the flames within the boundaries of the circle. Feel the earth below, and hear the vibrations of the Mother. Feel the breezes around you and allow the wind to  awaken your spirit. Know you are home. Your sacred space is formed.

Grounding and centering ritual

“I am guided by the powers of above.”

Visualise the unity of self with center above and below.

I am balanced in the axis of my being.”

Extend your hand to the East. Visualize and make contact with the powers of

the elemental forces. Visualise clarity.

“I am inspired by the powers of Air.”

Visualise purifying/transforming.

“I am enlightened by the powers of Fire.”

Visualise healing/cleansing.

“I am renewed by the powers of Water.”

Visualise nurturing/stability.

“I am nurtured by the powers of Earth.”

Establish the balance of axis and elements. Feel this to be true.

“The forces are in balance within me and about me.”

Feel the Sphere of the Circle.

“The Sphere is placed.”

Feel the Cube of the Temple within the Sphere.

“The Temple is established.”

Feel the Temple within yourself.

“I am the Temple.”

Grounding and Centering

Grounding and Centering

Grounding and centering is the absolutely essential first step for any energy working. It’s the thing that makes sure you are pulling the energy from the Earth, instead of depleting your own resources.  Without it, you will find yourself exhausted (or highly exhilarated) immediately after doing work, and then sick, headachy, dizzy, or faint afterwards. Sometimes the headache can persist for days afterwards.

All of these are signs that something is wrong.

Fortunately, it’s easy to fix! Grounding and centering is a simple thing that is a natural ability in all of us. For some reason (probably that it smacks of the occult) it’s rarely taught in the schools now, though. So this is your chance to learn it here.

Sit comfortably, without any part of your body resting on any other part (no crossed legs, etc.) and smile. (It relaxes you wonderfully to smile.) Begin by looking at the diagram to the left. These are your Chakras. We aren’t going to go into what they are, or how they work right now. For now, just look at them. Notice that they go up in spectral order, starting from red and going through orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo (actually a lovely, bright blue-violet, but it’s called indigo anyway) and violet. The first one is red and is at the base of your torso, near your anus. The second, orange one is about the width of both hands (with fingers held together, and including your thumbs) above that. In fact, in my experience, they tend to be pretty evenly spaced, and all about two hand-spans apart. The third is at the Solar Plexus (yellow), the fourth at your heart (green), the fifth at your throat (blue), the sixth at your “third eye” (indigo) and the seventh at the crown of your head (violet.)

You probably already know this; but you have more than one body. The ones we are going to be concerned with here are your physical body, and your etheric body. Just assume for now that you have the body you are used to thinking of as “you,” and you also have another one, larger and subtler, that has all the same parts and is around your physical body like two layers of an onion. Think of it as the blue outline in the picture. The point of the first part of the exercise, centering, is to line the two bodies up so that the energy can flow freely. You do this sort of like zipping a zipper. Hold the picture firmly in your mind, and line up the two red dots, physical and etheric, front to back and side to side. As you visualize (imagine) them coming together, hear the note C in your head. The first note of the scale.  Then carefully visualize all the others coming together as well, one by one, front to back and side to side until there is only one colored light. As you do, go on up the scale; doe, ray, me, fa, so, la, tea, doe.  (Yes, I know I’m spelling them wrong; but many people are used to hearing them, not seeing them written out, and this way they will sound like they should.) When you get to the final doe, visualize your whole body wrapped in white light. If this is really hard for you, visualize it going the other way, starting with your crown chakra, the violet light on the top of your head, and going down your body and down the scale. But try to learn to do it the other way, because it makes grounding easier. For the second part of the exercise, Grounding, it is absolutely essential that you be centered. If you aren’t, please go back and read that part now.  Starting with your crown chakra, the purple spot at the top of your head, visualize (imagine) a cord of light going all through your body, connecting your chakras as it goes. See it coming down from the root chakra, and becoming a root itself. Feel it going through your chair, through the floor, through the foundation of the building, and into the ground. Feel the warm, fertile ground below you. And feel your root going deeper and deeper, down through the ground, down below the deepest well. There is a whole core of energy down there. The core of the planet is full of pure, clean, loving energy; and the Earth means her children to use it. So draw that energy up your root now, up through the ground, through the soil, through the foundation, and the floor, and the chair, and into your body. Feel that pure clean energy coming into your body.  And pull it on up through your body, up through all your chakras, up through your crown chakra, up through the top of your head. And as it comes, it washes away all the tired, old, nasty energy, and fills you with clean, pure, fresh energy, energy from the Earth.  And let it come out of the top of your head, and flow out like a fountain, like the branches of a tree, up and arching gracefully down, and flowing back into the Earth. You are sitting in the center of a circuit now; a circuit of energy flowing up from the center of the Earth, through your body, through the top of your head, and back down into the Earth again. See how that feels? If you are doing it right, you will be able to feel it. If not, try it again some other time. It’s really not hard.  Now, the important thing to remember at this point is not to get greedy and try to keep too much of the energy. When you are finished with the exercise, you should have exactly as much energy as is normal for you. No more, and no less. Just think of yourself as taking no more and no less, and your own body will even it out for you. It’s nice and clean and fresh, but it’s the same amount. If it isn’t, you will wind up with one of the headaches again. And you don’t want that!  Keep doing this for a few minutes every day, and soon it will be as easy as taking a deep breath. And it will make you feel so much better!  Not just when working with energy, but when facing any kind of stress, or tension, or fear, or exertion, or anything. Being grounded and centered just makes life a bit easier to take!

The Witches Spell for Feb. 11th – Mary Caliendo’s Potato Chip Hex

7rf%20W%2013

Mary Caliendo’s Potato Chip Hex

This is so easy, you can perform it right at the office. Don’t let its simplicity fool you. It’s powerful enough to get rid of even the nastiest boss or co-worker.

Items You will need:

2 bags potato chips (from vending machine at your workplace)

3 packets black pepper

1 sticky note

Black pen

Stapler

Open both bags to let the air out. Write your enemy’s name on the sticky note in black ink, place it in one of the bags, and add the pepper. Sit on one bag to crush the chips. (Move around a little if you need to, as it’s imperative that the chips are reduced to crumbs.) Retrieve the bag, fold the top three times, and staple several times to secure. Place the bag in your purse, and toss it in a public garbage receptacle after work.

Now, eat the other bag of chips. You certainly wouldn’t want to appear to be doing anything suspicious at work, would you?

Life As The Witch – Other Places To Gather Graveyard Dirt, Hmm..

7rf%20W%2013

Yesterday’s article in regards to graveyard dirt brought many replies. I believe the most comment I received was in regards to not being close to a cemetery. Individuals living in big city, their cemetery relocated and had no way of obtaining graveyard dirt.

Yet named graveyard dirt, it can come from other places beside a graveyard. You can obtain dirt from certain buildings that will work just as well. Getting the dirt from a building is basically a give me. Consider what your needs are and then consider what kind of building correspondence. For example, a Law Office, the dirt would be used for justice, the same can be said for the dirt from a courthouse.

Below you will find examples of other places to obtain “graveyard” dirt. It will work just as well as dirt from a cemetery if you stop to think what kind of person you are taking the dirt from. And what kind of building are you taking it from.

*Note: Do not be obvious when collecting dirt from public places. Look around, stake our your surroundings, then find a nice, quiet place to collect your dirt.

Bank: Collect and use this dirt to bring money into your hands or to receive payment of a long overdue debt.

Church: This dirt is wonderful when used to invite the assistance of positive spiritual forces. It goes a long way toward protecting against evil spirits also.

Courthouse: Use this dirt for anything remotely involving legal matters. This could include contracts, court cases, general justice, and even money that’s owed to you. If your intent would benefit from the discerning eye of the Law, this is the dirt for you.

Educational Facility: Whether it comes from a school yard or a college campus, this dirt is excellent for efforts involving knowledge acquistion and retention. It can also be effective in magick to encourage study.

Enemy’s House: Gathering this dirt is a bit trickier and may involve some skulking around to collect. There’s no better way to cut your enemy off at the knees than to use dirt from his/her house against him. Unless you want to cause possible harm to everyone living on that property, be very careful how you word your spell.

Home:  This dirt is to protect all the occupant of your home and guarantee their safe return. The best way to accomplish this is to sprinkle a bit in every pair of shoes in the house. To ensure that someone else visits you again, sprinkle a bit in his or her shoes.

Hospital or Doctor’s office: Dirt from these locations are for efforts involving healing. There are a couple of things you should keep in mind. First, no magick in the world is a substitute for medical care or prescription medication. And second, be certain that healing is exactly what you have in mind when you add this dirt to magick.

Garden or Flower Shop: Often used in love spells, this dirt has the tendency to make love sprout and grow roots, bud and blossom. Unless you’re playing for keeps though, it’s inadvisable to add this dirt to magick.

Jail: Keep the police away from your door, especially if you are a criminal. It will make you invisible to the police and cause them to overlook a bench warrant, add hematite to the dirt.

Mall:  Attract large amounts of cash to yourself if you gather dirt from here. There’s nothing better than this type of dirt when used in efforts to obtain gainful employment or increase your cash flow.

Police Station: Dirt from this area is often collected and sprinkled along the baseboards of the home and along the edges of its structure to keep your family safe from harm. It is not a good idea to use this dirt if you’re involved in any sort of illegal activity because it will bring the police straight to you.

Workplace: There are lots of uses for this sort of dirt. It works great when included in spells for you getting a raise or promotion. It can also help you to foil a co-worker or for getting the dirt on the company

Emergency Poppet on the Fly

Emergency Poppet on the Fly

Material: Aluminum foil

Perhaps something has come up in a hurry, and you feel it needs immediate magical attention. Use a piece of aluminum foil to whip together a quickie poppet — shape it into the figure of a person. Fill with any magical components that might be handy — bits of wood, dirt, grass, even a name scribbled on a piece of paper — and personalize the poppet.

Poppet to Silence a Gossip

Poppet to Silence a Gossip

Material: Ground beef or other squishy meat

Herbs: Horseradish, pepper, rue, yarrow, valerian

Shape the meat and herbs into a person, and create a “meat puppet” in the same way you’d make a fabric one. As you make the doll, tell it that it’s time to be silent, and tell no more gossipy stories. Remind it that people who can’t say nice things shouldn’t say anything at all. Dispose of the doll by either burning it on your grill and burying it someplace far away, feeding it to your dog, or leaving it out in the sun to rot.

Poppet To Bring Love Into Your Life

To Bring Love Into Your Life

Material: Red or pink silk or cotton

Herbs: Rose petals, parsley, and peppermint

Gemstones: Barite, jade, rose quartz

Make a poppet to represent the object of your affection — remember that in some magical traditions it’s frowned upon to make a specific person the target of your working. If you are simply trying to attract love to yourself, but you don’t have a specific person in mind, focus on all the desirable qualities you want to see in a potential lover.

Poppet To Heal a Sick Person

Poppet To Heal a Sick Person

Material:

White cotton or unbleached muslin

Herbs: Lemon balm, feverfew, ivy, and pine.

Gemstones: Bloodstone, turquoise

When you make this poppet, be sure to indicate what you are trying to heal, whether it’s a case of tennis elbow, a chronic infection, or even a broken heart. Focus all of your energy on the ailment in question

Poppet for Gaining Financial Success

Poppet for Gaining Financial Success

Material:

satin, green or gold or silver

Herbs: clover, chamomile, ginger, cinnamon

Gemstones: snowflake obsidian or sodalite

Create a poppet that represents yourself. As you make it, focus on the positive attributes that you possess which will make you appealing to a potential employer. Another option is to create the poppet in the image of the employer (include business cards or letterhead inside, if you can get them) and tell the employer poppet why you’re the best person for the job.

 Curse Unraveling Ritual

Materials:

1 black/white reversible candle (if you can’t find one of these, substitute a white candle which you’ve colored completely with a black permanent marker.)

1 yellow candle

Uncrossing Incense

Charcoal block

Fire-proof dish

Cauldron or fire pit

Scissors

Sweater

Light the reversible candle and visualize the magick reversing itself. Light the yellow candle and see the effort meeting with success. Then light the charcoal block and sprinkle the incense on top.

Now sit in a comfortable position in front of the cauldron or fire pit. Using the scissors, cut the neck and cuff ribbing away from the sweater and toss them into the receptacle. Locate a yarn end on the garment and begin to unravel the fabric, saying something like:

“The magick cast now falls away
As I unravel it today,
(Name of person)’s life is now returned
As magick in the cauldron’s burned.
By all the power of Moon and Sun
I remove all harm; so be it done.”

Continue to repeat the chant as you unravel the sweater, stopping occasionally to snip off the loosened yarn and set it aflame in the cauldron. Continue the process until the sweater is completely unraveled, burned, and reduced to ash. Either discard the ashes in running water or scatter them to the winds

Life As The Witch – Getting that Graveyard Dirt & Dealing With Those Spirits

7rf%20W%2013

I have had several people ask me about graveyard dirt recently. How to collect it? What grave do I get it from? I have answered these questions in extent. But when it come to dealing with the Spirit world, I don’t want to take any chances that I might have been misunderstood or didn’t emphasis the importance of a certain area. Due to this fact, I ran across an article in a book by a Pagan Author I greatly admire, Dorothy Morrison. She also discusses this subject very thoroughly. I hope you enjoy this excerpt from her book, “Utterly Wicked, Curses, Hexes or Other Unsavory Notions”

Graveyard Dirt and Dealing With Spirits

Taking graveyard dirt without permission is much like breaking into someone’s home and stealing their possessions. And if you did that on the physical plane, the only help you’d get from the injured part would be a one-way trip to jail. The same is true of the spiritual realm. Yeah, I know that spirits don’t necessarily live in the dirt in the cemetery. However, that dirt comprises the final resting place of the body it left behind. That means that its energy is in that dirt. And to take that without permission is to take the only possession it has left. Go that route and one thing’s for sure: Jail time is going to be the least of your worries.

You also need to remember that asking permission is not enough. Some sort of relationship must be formed with the spirit before proceeding. And depending upon the spirit and your individual needs, this could take a few minutes or several days. You also need to be prepared for the possibility that you’re not going to be able to form a relationship at all. The reasons for this are many—personality clash, little or no common ground, or an objection to your desires, just to name a few—but in this case, none of that really matters. What does matter is that you don’t push the issue. Just thank the spirit for its time, and continue your search.

Once you do find a spirit that’s willing to help you (and you will), payment for the dirt is not enough. Mind your manners, be polite, and thank it for its assistance. Bring it an extra token of appreciation. You never know when you might need its help again, and no one—living, dead, or otherwise—is going to be willing to offer support of any kind if you can’t even be bothered with common courtesy.

Of course, if a spirit really likes you—if you’ve been kind and courteous and gone the extra mile—it may decide to hang around you, whether you want it to or not. To avoid this, offer it a piece of black onyx as a parting gift once your goal is achieved. (It’s the stone of separation and will sever your connections peaceably.) And if you need the spirit’s assistance again? Not a problem. Just go back to visit, and be assured that it will remember you.
