cat

A Quick Money Spell

Items that you will need in order to perform this spell:

Green candle

Cinnamon oil

A bill (utility bill, etc. etc.)

Patchouli incense

Ritual: This spell requires good visualization on your part. Take a green candle and anoint it with cinnamon oil. Take the bill or write on a piece of paper the amount of a bill you owe on and whom the bill goes to (name of electric company etc. etc.). You will need a candle that can burn for 7 days. Place the paper under the candle. Hold your hands over the candle and say:

“This candle burns to light the way
for the money I need to pay this bill
in a way that harms no one.”

Light the candle and burn patchouli incense. Meditate for 5 minutes as the candle burns. Visualize yourself writing the check or purchasing the money order for the bill and putting it in the mail. Burn the candle every day around the same time for 7 days each candle burning session should last 15 minutes at a time. Also, burn patchouli incense every day along with the candle. On the last day, burn the paper with the flame from the candle and let the candle burn completely out.

The Witches Spell for Oct. 4th – So Much to Do, So Little Time

goth114

The Witches Spell for October 4th

So Much to Do, So Little Time

No matter how hard you work, you never seem to get caught up. If stress and frustration are getting you down, this spell offers a welcome respite from workplace demands.

Tools:

Lavender incense
An incense burner
A light blue candle
A candleholder
Matches or a lighter
A bathtub
Essential oil of vanilla
4 good-sized chunks of amethyst

When: Any time

Cast a Circle around your bathroom. Fit the incense and candle into their respective holders, then light both. Fill the bathtub with pleasantly hot water. Add a little essential oil of vanilla to the bathwater.

Wash the amethysts with mild soap and water, then set one on each corner of the bathtub. Climb into the tub and make yourself comfy. Feel the amethysts drawing off your stress and neutralizing it. Feel your frustrations and anxieties dissolving into the bathwater. The trick is not to think about anything outside the walls of the bathroom.

When you worry about the past or future, you block receptivity to new ideas and guidance that could help you resolve problems. If a troublesome thought pops into your mind, send it into the water or give it to the amethysts. Soak for as long as you like until you feel calm, rested, and confident that all is well.

When your peace of mind is restored, get out of the tub. As the water drains away, visualize your cares flowing away with it. Pick up the amethysts and thank them. Then wash them with clean water (not the bathwater) and mild soap and pat them dry. Extinguish the candle and incense, or allow them to burn down in a safe place. Open the Circle and emerge renewed.

~Old Time Castile Soap Shampoo~

~Old Time Castile Soap Shampoo~

This shampoo method works best only when using re-batched Kirk’s Soap. I use nothing but Kirk’s soap due to its gentle nature, nice fragrance and the ability to re-batch it once you’ve used all of it. This recipe works best, when you have used the bar of soap down to where it is starting to break or it has broken. Here is a more detailed version of the above recipe for re-batching/liquefying it. Cut it up into small pieces into a stovetop safe pot, turn the burner on medium-low (you’ll better be able to see what temperature you need it at, once you start cooking…have it too high and it will burn) and add enough water to make it a liquid.

Though it is soap, you don’t really want it to be soupy, so don’t add too much water. Just add slowly, until the mixture is a nice consistency.

Stir, stir, stir. Yes, you will need to stir it. I would suggest using a wooden spoon, if you have one. If not, just use something sturdy. This may take a while…patience, patience, patience. Once you have it the consistency you like, allow it to cool a bit and then pour it in a bottle and seal it up. It should remain liquid (if you added enough water) for as long as you use it. However, I would advise giving it a good shake before each use.

Peaceful Home Spell

Peaceful Home Spell

This spell is very good if there is a lot of turmoil or stress in the household.
Do the following spell, and while doing so, remember to focus on your intent for a peaceful household.

Sew a small pouch of lavender cloth.
Place a small trinket in the pouch for each member of your household.

Add to this a pinch each of lavender, rose and chamomile, before placing each pinch in the
pouch, remember to hold it for a moment and REALLY focus, finally, add a small amethyst.

Now, anoint a lavender or pink candle with peace oil and then light it.
Sit in front of the candle and hold the pouch in your hands and whisper the following chant
over it softly 3 times:

“Blessed Goddess, most gentle one, calm my home for me.
Relieve all tension, send it far, so from stress we shall be free.
Touch my family with peace and calm, and the sweetest softest bliss,
Bless my home, Great Gentle Goddess, with your calming kiss.”

Set the pouch with the candle. Allow the candle to burn down completely.
Hang the pouch in your home, preferably in the room where everyone gathers the most.
Whenever tension seems to build, repeat the above chant 3 times and envision peace
and tranquility radiating from the pouch and The Goddess.

Feng Shui News for Sept. 11th – 'Today Contains 2 Special Events'

It’s ‘Libraries Remember Day’ and ‘National Day of Service and Remembrance’ — are you sensing a theme here? According to a recent scientific report, just a whiff of the scent of rosemary essential oil was shown to boost the ability to remember to do things, and in some cases even sharpened recall of past events. Of course, we in the holistic world have long known of rosemary’s amazing ability to stall memory decline. Thanks to these findings, more people will be exposed to research that finds that adults who routinely inhaled rosemary essential oil performed better on memory tests than those who did not. Don’t forget now, some rosemary each day will keep memory decline away!

The Witch's Spell for August 28th – Stop Overreacting Spell

Stop Overreacting Spell

Purpose of Spell:  To reduce a tendency to overreact to situations.

Items You Will Need:

White candle

Lavender

Essential oil or incense

Timing: This can be said on the new moon or whenever needed. It is actually more of an affirmation than a spell, so you might want to memorize it and say it whenever you feel yourself starting to overreact to something. (You only need the candle the first time you do the spell.)

Anoint the candle with lavender essential oil or burn some lavender incense. (Lavender is an easy scent to find, and you can use it later to remind yourself not to overreact. If necessary, you can dab a bit of essential oil on a tissue and tuck it in your pocket.) Light the candle and focus for a while on light and the calming smell. Then say the spell as slowly and calmly as possible.

I am calm and in control

Rooted in Earth

Soothed by Water

Brought by clarity by the Air

The Fire within has burned to embers

I am calm and in control.

Witches Spell for August 18: 2 Witch Bottle Spells

tonic bottles

Witch bottle to show off

Witch bottles that are intended to be left out in plain sight are not usually made to that much protect their makers, but to bring the one who has cast this bottled spell something she or he wants. The usual reasons are the reasons so common with other types of spell as well: the wish the gain more love, material gains, happiness, creativity. I won’t give any specific instructions, only basic principles:

Select the bottle or jar used according to its color, shape or the simple fact that it is pleasing to the eye. Go through the magical qualities of herbs, colors, essential oils, metals, crystals etc. and choose the ones you’ll use in the bottle according to how well they suit your intended purpose. You won’t normally use any liquids (except for a few drops of essential oils) in bottles left in the open, they are ‘dry bottles’. Aim for a harmonious whole. That means: don’t try to squeeze in your bottle every single herb or crystal associated with, for example, wealth. Too much is too much!

Pick a few suitable herbs or oils, one suitable crystal, one suitable color. To represent the color you can add (silk) ribbon to the bottle or tie a ribbon around it, or paint a symbol representing your goals with the chosen color. You can also make a ‘hat’ to cover the lid of the bottle, making it out of black cloth and painting a symbol on it with fabric paint or magic marker, or use the color of your spell as the color of this ‘hat’. You can use colors as colored sands or salts. Even metals have their own magical correspondences, so you might want to use metal dust or chips.

If you are following the phases of the moon or other celestial objects in your magic, take them into consideration while constructing the bottle. It is up to the bottle’s maker whether to use a formal ritual or not.

As a basic principle, it could be suggested that sands (and metal dust/chips) usually go to the bottom, herbs and oils on the sand and the crystal in with the herbs.

Money bottle

What you need:

5 old pennies

5 dimes

5 quarters (or, five each of three denominations of your country’s coin currency, if outside the United States)

5 kernels of dried corn

5 sesame seeds

5 cinnamon sticks

5 cloves

5 whole allspice

5 pecans

Place each item into a thin, tall bottle, such as a spice bottle. Cap it tightly. Shake the bottle with your receptive hand (the one you do not write with) for 5 minutes while chanting these or similar words:

‘Herbs and silver, Copper and grain; Work to increase my money gain’

Place the money spell bottle on a table somewhere in your house. Leave your purse, pocketbook, wallet and/or checkbook near the bottle when at home. Allow money to come into your life. It is done.

Daily Aromatherapy Tip – Frankincense Bath Kisses

You can make these now and freeze them for your holiday gifts.
These lusciously scented “kisses” are a bathtime luxury. Pour into small candy molds and place in the freezer for 20 minutes. Remove from molds. Place one or two ‘kisses’ into hot bath water. Store the rest in a ziplock bag in the freezer.

10 Tips for Using Essential Oils in the Home

10 Tips for Using Essential Oils in the Home

By J. Black

When guests enter your home the first thing that greets them is the
aroma. Essential oils are often used to create a homey atmosphere
within the home.
Add 6-8 drops of your favourite scent to water in a diffuser or place
the drops directly into a bowl of boiling water.

Sweet orange, lemon and your favourite spice oil are especially good
when diffused during the winter months for a refreshing, warming
aroma and atmosphere.

Candles fragranced with  can also be used to give the
home a pleasant ambience and aroma.

Other ways essential oils can be used around the home include…

1. Add a few drops of essential oil to water in a spray bottle to
freshen linen or spray on garments before .

2. As an air-freshener put 6-8 drops in 600 ml of water in a fine
spray bottle and spray into the air and towards carpets and curtains.
Do not spray onto velvet or silk and avoid spraying directly onto
wood.

3. Place cotton wool balls fragranced with lavender in drawers and
linen closet to deter moths.

4. Put 4 drops of oil onto a cotton wool ball and place behind the
heater or radiator in winter. Drops can also be used with the
humidifier.

5. Clean your fridge with a one drop of orange, mandarin, mint,
lavender or lemon oil added to the final rinse water.

6. When washing down surfaces in the kitchen 1 drop of lemon, thyme,
cypress, lavender or palma rosa placed directly on a cloth or
alternatively 7 drops in water.

7. Put a drop or two of oil onto a cold light bulb in a lamp so the
fragrance fills the room as it heats up.

8. Essential oils are used to clean the air rather than mask smells
in the home. To rid a room of stale tobacco or cooking smells use
cinnamon, eucalyptus, lavender, lemon, orange, tea tree, rosemary or
lime for their ability to freshen and cleanse the air of stagnant
smells throughout the house.

Saturate cotton wool balls and place in the corners of a room, in
cupboards or out-of-the-way places to fragrance kitchens and living
areas throughout the house.

9. Hallways are the place where we greet our guests. Use lemon, lime,
bergamont or grapefruit. Lavender or geranium can be mixed with any
of these. Lavender is uplifting in the morning and geranium has a
calming effect and good for afternoons when you may need to wind down
at the end of the day

10. Keep tea tree oil in your first aid kit for cuts, burns and head lice.

I

Infusions

Infusions, brews and washes are just tea. Herbs steeped in hot water to release their volatile oils and essences into the water so the resulting liquid may be used to transfer their energies to an object, place or person. Infusions may be used in a number of ways; to sprinkle around a space or onto an object or person, to bathe an object or person, or to drink as tea. They are generally brewed when they will be used as they do not keep well. The herbs may be mixed in advance and placed in small cheesecloth bundles, ready to use like a tea bag. If you use a particular infusion often you may want to make up these tea bags and have them on hand. Mixing the herbs should be done with ritual, visualization and the appropriate time correspondences as with any magical herb preparation. The prepared tea bags should be stored in an airtight jar, in a dry, cool place.

6 Quick Energy Tips for Busy People

6 Quick Energy Tips for Busy People

When energy levels dip, try these simple tips to recharge your  batteries. They’re quick, easy and will help you breeze through the most hectic  day!
  1. Dry-brush your body before you step into the shower. This  invigorates skin and sloughs off dead cells. Use a citrus-infused body wash. You  will hum your way through the morning.
  2. Raise a (whole wheat) toast to breakfast! It gives you  fiber, which regulates digestion and keeps energy levels up. Also, try to  combine proteins and carbs for breakfast. Oatmeal, egg and fruit will get your  engine chugging merrily.
  3. Keep rosemary essential oil handy. It’s one of the most  energizing oils. If you sprinkle a few drops of it on a clean handkerchief and  take a few deep breaths, you’ll feel instantly recharged.
  4. Sip green or white tea instead of coffee. They are low in  caffeine, detoxify the body and leave you feeling genuinely refreshed.
  5. Craving carbs? Go ahead and enjoy them, but make sure you  balance them with something that’s good for you. So, have your pasta, but do  order a garden salad alongside.
  6. Try this simple exercise while sitting at your desk: Put  your forearms on the table and rest your forehead on your hands. Breathe out  fully. Breathe in again, easily, gently lifting up your head. Now exhale,  tucking your chin and easing yourself back to arms on forehead. Repeat till you  start feeling revitalized.
