Daily Motivator for August 22nd – Somewhere special

Somewhere special

You don’t have to go somewhere special to be somewhere special. Wherever you  happen to be has a unique and valuable beauty all its own.

You don’t have to do anything special to experience how truly great and  special life is. Even in the ordinary things there is always extraordinary  richness to be found.

Just the sensation of the warm sun on your skin is amazing. And that’s  something you can feel anywhere on the face of the Earth.

There’s no need to wait until some special moment to experience life in all  its glory. The fact is, you can make any moment special just by giving your love  and authenticity to it.

Look around you, wherever you are, and you’ll see plenty of opportunities for  fulfillment. What makes life special is your choice to live it fully.

Allow yourself to feel the wonder, to drink in the beauty and to experience  the special time and place where you are. Life is always special, so live it  accordingly.

Daily OM for August 22nd – Pausing to Drink

Pausing to Drink

Beauty Day

by Madisyn Taylor

Take the time today to really notice and appreciate the beauty that surrounds you.

Sometimes we go through whole days without really tuning in to the beauty of nature that surrounds us. We have a habit of seeing it without really taking it in, yet once we begin to notice it we treat ourselves to an exquisite realm of subtle, complex scents, miraculous forms, and ethereal light. The natural world enriches our entire being through the vehicles of our senses. When we are low, nature lifts our spirits. When we are tired, it rejuvenates us—if we pause long enough to drink from its beauty. If you have fallen out of the practice of taking time to observe the light as it filters through the leaves of a tree, or the concentric rings a raindrop makes as it plops into a puddle, you can retune yourself by dedicating a day to noticing the beauty in nature.

On this day, one possibility is to rise early enough to see the sunrise. Watching the sky change colors and the world emerge from darkness is an experience that will influence the whole rest of your day in ways that words cannot describe. Or simply observe the quality of the morning light as it infuses the world with its particular pale golden beauty. You may let the light play on your own hand, remembering that you are also part of the natural world. Let your intuition guide you to the elements of nature that call to you throughout the day, such as the sound of the wind as it shakes and sways a tree or the feeling of snowflakes landing on your warm eyelids and cheeks.

After you devote one day to opening your eyes more fully to the beauty of nature, you may want to make this part of your daily routine. Each day drink from the beauty all around you, and allow it to rejuvenate your entire being. All you have to do is pause, for just one minute, and really take it in, remembering to thank Mother Nature for her beauty.

Good Sunday Morning Dear Friends & Family! May The Goddess Bless Your Day!

Good Morning, my dears! How are you doing this morning? Me, I have been relaxing by watching the fish swim around in the aquarium. I have a 50 gallon aquarium and I love to sit and just watch the fish swim. It is so relaxing and soothing. I feel like a new person after watching them swim for a bit. The only problem is Razzy has learned what I am watching. I expect to hear her screaming one day because she has decided to go fishing. Then she realizes all cats hate water, lol! It is like the funny farm around here at times. If it ain’t the critters, it’s the people.

I felt so relaxed this morning that I looked at some graphics then when over to the Pinterest page. You know at first Pinterest made no sense to me whatsoever. I first heard about it on our local News Station. But now that I have got use to doing it, I have become an addict. I have found it is much easier to get your message across in photos than in words. But I truly enjoying doing it. I hope some of you have been over there to check it out. I love the photos I have uploaded of the animals we have took in here at the refuge. There is a picture of little baby barn owls. They are so ugly when they are first born and for about 4 weeks later. They have a face only a mother could love. But I have learned something from them. No matter how ugly the situation or person, there is beauty just waiting to blossom. All you have to do is have patience and nurture it, the beauty will eventually emerge.

Thinking about those little owls and the lesson I have learned from them. It gives me hope for tomorrow. I know no matter how ugly the world might get, there is still beauty left in it. All we have to do is look for it. When we find it, nurture it and care for it, then let others see it. Let the beauty in the world become a chain reaction, let it shine on the world. Let us take time today to see the Goddess’ beauty and love and then let it shine on the world. Spreading peace and love throughout.

I will leave you this Celtic blessing. Good day, my family!

If there is righteousness in the heart,
there will be beauty in the character.
If there is beauty in the character,
there will be harmony in the home.
If there is harmony in the home,
there will be order in the nation.
If there is order in the nation,
there will be peace in the world.
So let it be

hexagram09

A splashy sunset bathes the mountains in a soft radiance; the light of a full moon dances on the surface of a rippling river. Grace and beauty adorn the natural world. Grace is not an all-powerful force, nor is it the essential or fundamental thing. By itself, it is form without content. Grace is moonlight on water, not the sunlight at noon. Yet grace brings artistic expression into the world, and enhances the quality of our lives.

In the arts, grace arises out of adherence to form: the dancer becoming the form of the dance, the musician giving life to the form of a musical score, the painter becoming one with the brush and canvas. In human affairs, grace is also aligned with form — with mastery of aesthetic and cultural patterns honed by time and honored by tradition. Through appreciation of graceful customs in human relationships we apprehend the pure beauty of the ideal, of life raised above the mere struggle for survival.

Possession of grace, like the bearing of a beautiful gift to a wedding, can add stature to those in humble positions. Take care to lend grace and dignity even to small happenings, while giving the weight of deep and careful consideration to matters of greater consequence. Though it should not be confused with true substance, an artistic flair can take one far in this world.

Bath for Clearing Away All Psychic Nastiness: Beer Bath

General Instructions for all Baths

Once the bath is ready, sit in the tub, and completely immerse yourself seven times, allowing the mixture to flow into all body openings. (Swish it around in your mouth as well, but do not swallow it.) Stay in the tub for seven minutes, then get out, allowing the moisture on your body and hair to dry naturally.

The Beer Bath

This is a great little psychic cleanser with added perks: It relieves mild depression and is actually good for your skin and hair.

Materials needed:

1  12 oz. can of beer

1  T. salt

Add the beer and salt to a warm tub of water. Using your index finger, stir the water clockwise until thoroughly mixed.

New Year’s Resolutions

New Year’s Resolutions

New Year’s resolutions are a modern tradition but despite being neither a Wiccan tradition nor linked to the Witches’ year, which begins and ends at Samhain, many Witches still practise this.

Rather than setting yourself one or two difficult-to-attain targets, make a list of 6 to 12 things you would like to achieve during the coming year.  Some could be linked to self-improvement like eating in a more healthy way or learning a new skill, whilst others are perhaps more in the way of personal treats; for example saving for a balloon flight or a weekend at a health spa.  Try to include one or more things associated with your Craft, like remembering to observe the cycles of the Moon or writing up your Book of Shadows, for example.  It can also be helpful to apply a ‘rule of three’ approach to this: for each item for self-improvement, have one benefit of others, the land or the Craft, and one which is for pleasure.  Ensure that your list includes things which are relatively simple to achieve as well as more difficult goals.

Write a list of all your targets and, whilst burning a gold candle, recite them to yourself, repeating after each: “As in my will so mote it be.” Pin the list in a place where you will see it everyday.  If you don’t want to announce your intentions to the world, you could place it on the inside of your wardrobe door.  Now select one goal from your list and start work towards achieving it as soon as you can.

“The best way to succeed is to start.”

Your Ancient Symbol Card for December 11th is The Swan

Your Deck of Ancient Symbols Card for Today

swanCardMED

The Swan

The elegant Swan is an ideal symbol of beauty and grace. Its flowing curves and fluid movement give an ethereal air of perfection realized. The Swan’s beauty embodies the feminine (Yin) qualities of intuition and sensitivity. But The Swan does not begin life as a creature who appears to be the creation of divine inspiration. Indeed at birth The Swan is an ungainly creature that lacks any indications of the magnificent being it is destined to become. The Swan’s transformation from ordinary to extraordinary have made it an emblem of discovering the beauty and power of your true self.

As a daily card, The Swan is a reminder of the beauty, creativity and power your true self embodies. In this period it is best to let the real you rule and be known to all–to remember who you really are and what you are really about. The Swan also marks a time when your creative powers may be at their zenith.

Calendar of the Sun for December 10th

10 Yulmonath

Sedna’s Day

Colors: Blue, green, white
Element: Water
Altar: Upon cloth like the Arctic Ocean place a long net, many tangled skeins of thread, combs, and the figures of seals and walrus and fish.
Offerings: Comb the skeins and weave them into the net for Sedna.
Daily Meal: Fish.

Invocation to Sedna

Far to the North, in the coldest of waters,
Where the hunters survive by fish and seal,
A poor fisherman had too many children,
And his oldest daughter refused to wed.
So he bore her out into the cold waters,
And threw her overboard to her death.
Yet she clung to the boat, he cut off her fingers,
They fell into the water and became the seals and fish.
She sank to the bottom, where she became Sedna,
Queen of the Northern Oceans, Mistress of the Water,
With hair so long that it wraps through all the waves
Yet she cannot comb it, without fingers. So it is
That when Sedna becomes wroth, the waves pitch
And toss about, and there is no food,
For it is all caught in her hair. Shall we then take up combs,
And do the work of the angakok, on this one day?
Shall we honor Sedna, Lady of the Sea,
Victim turned Ruler, lost child become Queen,
And give her aid in her extremity, that the seals and fishes
May be many in the waters? Come forth, those who would
Comb out her hair, and with it your troubles,
Your conundrums, and all that is tangled in your life.

(Each comes forth and takes a tangled skein of thread and a comb, and sits before the altar to comb it out. As each finishes, they say, “Be well, Lady,” and weave the straight skein into the net. Those who cannot untangle theirs before the bell of Akte must leave it, and say, “I will take up this burden next year, Lady,” and give extra libation to Sedna in private, on their own.)

Daily Feng Shui Tip for November 24th – ‘International Aura Awareness Day’

Today is ‘International Aura Awareness Day.’ Aura is the energy that surrounds each of us that stops negative energies from invading our bodies. And this aura occasionally needs to be cleansed if it’s to operate at highest capacity. Essential oils can be used for auric clearing and today I’d like offer scents that can assist in this cleanse. Use clove essential oil to resolve difficult work or home relationship issues. Cinnamon offers full protection from other people’s drama while cedarwood can help clear away stress. Simply diffuse any of these essential oils by putting ten drops in a bowl of boiling water and breathing in the clearing, calming scent for ten to 15 minutes. Afterwards, you’ll feel refreshed and renewed and you and your aura will be ready to face the world again.
