The Daily Motivator for February 8th – Start the doing

Start the doing

Don’t be too smart for your own good. Don’t be too critical of your own  work.

Prepare for what you intend to do, and plan how you will do it, but not to  the point of obsession. Sooner rather than later, finish the planning and start  the doing.

Even though you won’t get it perfect, focus all your energy on getting it  done. Even though you may have your doubts, push on through them and keep  going.

Achievement is never clean or linear. Great achievement is messy and  inconvenient, daunting and often quite unpredictable, and it is worth all  that.

You have great achievement within you, today, in this place, using what you  have and what you know. What a shame it would be to never let that unique  achievement see the light of day.

So get busy right now and begin to let it see the light of day, on this day.  You have so much to give to life, and such exquisite fulfillment to savor from  doing so.

Daily Motivator for Feb. 3rd – The more life changes

The more life changes

Life moves quickly and changes at a relentlessly rapid pace. Sometimes that  can be frightening, but it doesn’t have to be.

After all, every good thing that has come into your life has been the result  of a change. You have the proven ability to deal with the changes and in fact to  transform them into fulfillment.

With each new change comes the opportunity for new value. Even if the change  seems to be overwhelmingly negative, you can find a way in which to add new  goodness to your world.

The more life changes, the more new possibilities it brings. Rather than  cursing the changes, explore the possibilities.

Each day brings many opportunities for you to successfully adapt and prosper  in the face of change. You can use the changes to grow stronger and more  capable, and to move your world in a positive direction.

With a true and generous love for life, there is no need to fear change.  Embrace life as it continues to change, and give so much of your love that life  continues to grow in richness and fulfillment.

The Daily Motivator for Jan. 22nd – Always give the best

Always give the best

In order to experience the best life has to offer, you must give the best of  who you are. There is no other way.

True fulfillment does not ever come from possessions, relationships or  experiences alone. Fulfillment comes from what you do to put real substance and  meaning into what you have.

The success you desire in life does not depend on the image you’re able to  project. Success is a result of the authenticity with which you live your life  in every moment.

If you attempt to cheat life, the best you can hope to get are mere tokens of  success. You deserve much more than that.

So go ahead and put in the effort and commitment necessary to make each day  truly meaningful. Do the work to be honest, creative, productive and generous in  your own unique way.

Give your best to life every chance you get. And what you’ll get in return is  a life that’s rich and full and increasingly satisfying.

Daily Motivator for Jan. 15th – Purpose and fulfillment

Purpose and fulfillment

You cannot do it all, and you wouldn’t really want to. Yet you can do what’s  truly important.

There’s nothing to be gained from merely being busy. There are all sorts of  wonderful things to be achieved by being purposeful.

So very many demands are placed on you by the world and all its systems and  all its technology. That makes it more important than ever to make your own  choice as to what really matters.

Just because something is urgent doesn’t mean it makes a difference. Just  because something is colorful, exciting, trendy and enticing doesn’t mean it  will add value to your life.

Step back from the glittery commotion and remind yourself of who you are.  Remind yourself of what you truly love, of what really matters to you.

Plenty of things that seem important at first glance will quickly turn out  not to be, so let them go. All the while, hold steady to what truly matters and  build a life of purpose and fulfillment.

Daily Motivator for Nov. 20th – Creating fulfillment

Creating fulfillment

Your fulfillment does not depend on getting others to think or act in certain  ways. Your fulfillment does not depend on being impressive or successful in the  eyes of the world.

Your fulfillment depends on you. It depends on how much of yourself you  genuinely give and authentically express.

Governments, corporations, interest groups and institutions cannot give you  fulfillment or keep you from it. Regardless of your situation, you are  responsible for the fulfillment you experience.

People have all sorts of different abilities, resources, challenges,  opportunities and circumstances. Yet every person, in his or her own way, has  the possibility for true fulfillment at any time.

Don’t waste your time begging for help, assigning blame, or wishing that  things could be different. Wisely use every bit of your time joyfully and  gratefully creating the special fulfillment that is yours to create.

Stop imagining excuses and start experiencing the satisfaction of bringing  real fulfillment to every day. Now is your moment, so fill it with delightful  meaning.

The Daily Motivator for Oct. 31 – Richness flowing out

Richness flowing out

If you cannot fully value and appreciate what you have, you might as well not  have it. Life’s richness is valuable precisely to the extent that you make it  valuable.

The way to make it valuable is to be thankful. The way to be truly thankful  for what you have is to make good and meaningful use of it.

This moment is an opportunity to do just that. This situation, whatever else  it may be, is your chance to create new value and richness.

Look at what you have right now, but not as a static scorecard. Look at what  you have and see the possibilities for moving forward.

Your highest fulfillment will come not from accumulating possessions. It will  come from creating and expressing new value in your own unique way.

Be truly and immensely thankful for this moment and for what’s in it. Then  live it in such a way that new richness comes flowing out.

Daily Motivator for August 22nd – Somewhere special

Somewhere special

You don’t have to go somewhere special to be somewhere special. Wherever you  happen to be has a unique and valuable beauty all its own.

You don’t have to do anything special to experience how truly great and  special life is. Even in the ordinary things there is always extraordinary  richness to be found.

Just the sensation of the warm sun on your skin is amazing. And that’s  something you can feel anywhere on the face of the Earth.

There’s no need to wait until some special moment to experience life in all  its glory. The fact is, you can make any moment special just by giving your love  and authenticity to it.

Look around you, wherever you are, and you’ll see plenty of opportunities for  fulfillment. What makes life special is your choice to live it fully.

Allow yourself to feel the wonder, to drink in the beauty and to experience  the special time and place where you are. Life is always special, so live it  accordingly.

Daily Motivator for December 4th – Delicious fulfillment

Delicious fulfillment

You can make something of this day, so do it now. You can transform challenge  into achievement, so go ahead and make it happen.

Opportunity is not some free ride that is granted to just a lucky few.  Opportunity is always there, available to anyone who is willing to work for it.

Transforming opportunity into achievement is not easy, and that is in fact  the whole point. It is in the effort that the value of achievement is created.

You can make that effort, this hour, this day, this year, and for as long as  you choose to make it. The more real, meaningful effort you’re willing to give,  the more your life and your world will be filled with achievement and value.

You can make something of this life, of this challenge, of this opportunity,  so do. Be willing, get busy, stay on it, and get yourself an increasing dose of  delicious fulfillment.

Give your very best, and get the very best of life in return. Make something  of it all, and make it all into something truly meaningful and great.

Daily Motivator for November 30 – Beyond your needs

Beyond your needs

Don’t let yourself be held back by what you think you need. Go ahead and do  all you can with what you have.

Sure, it might be nice to be further along on the road. Yet you are where you  are, so go ahead and start moving ahead.

What you see as a need is probably just an excuse. Instead of waiting for  your needs to be met, go ahead and do all you can without them.

Don’t let your focus on your needs blind you to your possibilities. Focus not  on what you want to get away from, but on where you truly wish to go.

There’s more than one way to get there. If one path is blocked, get creative.

Stop obsessing over the needs and excuses, and start taking effective action.  Go beyond your needs, and create the real fulfillment of which you are most  certainly capable.

Today’s I Ching Hexagram for November 24th is 51: Shock

51: Shock

Saturday, Nov 24th, 2012

One hears thunder unexpectedly! First comes fear, then a sharpening of one’s vision. Recall a close brush with danger — a falling branch, an automobile accident barely avoided, an escape from a potentially violent confrontation. Such incidents arouse every nerve fiber in your body in a brief wave of terror, but soon, once the danger has passed, give way to a heightened awareness of the world. The same process also occurs with other types of shock — the loss of a job, the sudden departure of a loved one, business failure and so on.

The lasting impact of a major shock can either be stimulating or debilitating, depending upon one’s strength of character. The critical factor is the ability to shake off fear, thereby transforming anxiety into a laser-sharp perception of the world around you.

When overtaken by crisis, the wise search their hearts for inner strengths in order to face their life with courage. This often means daring to take an unexpected path — to bounce back quickly and self-confidently after failures, to have faith in the eternal when confronted with death.

We tend to think of shock only in the context of unpleasant events. We can also be jarred, however, by the sudden release of tension that comes with unexpected joy or success. To keep your bearings in the aftershock of either trauma or victory, it is essential that your inner compass be aligned with ‘true north’, that magnetic force which guides you toward fulfillment of both your deepest desire, and your highest destiny.

Daily Motivator for November 19th – Feel good at the core

Feel good at the core

Life is increasingly filled with distractions, and they can be very  compelling. Yet the distractions are not what bring fulfillment.

Fulfillment, by its very definition, requires that you focus your energy and  attention on what’s truly important to you. In order to fulfill your purpose,  you must live with that purpose at the center of your awareness.

Distractions can be exciting, fun, interesting, informative and enabling.  However, there is more to life than just bouncing from one distraction to  another.

The pleasures that only take a moment to achieve will be completely gone in  the next moment. Yet the joys in which you invest great time, effort and  substance will last a lifetime and beyond.

To truly enjoy life’s many pleasures and diversions, you must have a solid  perspective from which to experience them. That perspective, that foundation, is  built with focus, discipline and authentic purpose.

The distractions can make you feel good, for a moment or two, on the outside.  Choose also to continually build the substance of your life, and to feel good  about yourself at the very core of your being.

The Daily Motivator for Aug. 11th – The effort of fulfillment

The effort of fulfillment

The rich abundance of life surrounds you. It is a magnificent blessing and a profound responsibility.

You have access to a continuing stream of value that is life and its countless possibilities. It is up to you to make meaningful use of that value.

No person, no possession, no position can give you fulfillment. That will come only from the way you choose to live.

Life owes you nothing because life already gives you everything. You, through your focus, your priorities and your efforts, are the only one who can transform that abundance into fulfillment.

To hope that someone will do it all for you is to deny yourself the true magnificence of being you. You are absolutely worth the effort of fulfillment, so find joy in making that effort.

The challenges are many, and yet the positive possibilities are endless. Make the commitment, make the effort, and live life at its highest, most fulfilling level.

The Daily Motivator

Daily Motivator for June 2 – Your very essence

Your very essence

What you truly desire, you cannot ever take from anybody else. Because what you truly desire, is to fulfill your own unique purpose.

If you cheat or steal, you gain nothing of real value. If you destroy or injure, you are just making life more difficult for everyone, especially including you.

There are no shortcuts to the real fulfillment you seek. When you grab the mere tokens of that fulfillment, you push the real substance of it farther away.

There is no such thing as something for nothing. Even if there were, you would not want it, for it would bring no fulfillment.

Go ahead, make the commitment, make the effort, and persist in that effort until you can feel the fulfillment start to take hold. Go ahead and do the hard work to make a positive difference in your own special way, because that is what you long to do.

You are immensely valuable, and that value can be fully expressed only through sustained and focused effort. Make the commitment to live that value, for it is your very essence, and well worth whatever you must endure.
