Missed opportunities

by Ralph Marston

There is no limit to the number of ways you can experience joy. So there is no reason to ever stay disappointed about missed opportunities for joy.

Take that disappointment and let it push you forward to express and experience new joy. It could very well be that you discover a joy even more profound than what you missed out on.

Life’s good possibilities keep on coming. Don’t miss the next one because you’re too wrapped up in disappointment over the last one.

Daily Motivator for February 19th – See it as a blessing

See it as a blessing

Whatever it is, see it as a blessing. With many things that’s very difficult,  yet with everything it is extremely valuable.

When you can see it as a blessing, you can also see the positive  possibilities. When you choose to see it as a blessing, you connect yourself to  the power of abundance.

Whatever you see as a blessing brings you new ways to create value. You begin  to solve the problem, to heal the pain and to transcend the challenge.

That’s a whole lot more positive and powerful than feeling sorry for  yourself. It’s a whole lot smarter than ruining your day with anger and  resentment.

You are extremely fortunate to be exactly where you are. Open yourself up to  see that good fortune and you’ll find ways to make great, fulfilling use of it.

Accept and embrace the blessings that come your way, whatever form they may  take. The more thankful and positive you are, the more those blessings will  benefit your whole world.

Daily Motivator for February 18th – Face forward

Face forward

Yes, it’s interesting and somewhat instructive to know how things got the way  they are. What’s far more important, though, is what you choose to do going  forward.

Pay attention to what has happened but don’t waste your precious and powerful  energy becoming obsessed by it. Put that energy into moving in a positive  direction.

It’s what you can do now that really matters. As big as they might have been,  the expired opportunities of yesterday are now negligible compared to the  possibilities of today.

What you can do now is connect with your most treasured dreams. What you can  do now is act with passion and the highest expectations to bring those dreams to  life.

Instead of living with wistfulness, regret, or anger about the past, you can  live with positive purpose toward a great and shining future. The direction you  face makes all the difference in the world, so make the choice to face  forward.

This is a new moment, and with it comes the chance for a new start. Take that  chance, grab that opportunity, and live your life forward in a beautiful and  fulfilling way.

The Daily Motivator for Feb. 14th – Highest expectations

Highest expectations

If you’ve been disappointed, it’s tempting to lower your expectations so you  won’t be disappointed again. But that’s not how it works.

In reality, when you expect less you’ll be disappointed more. The lower you  aim, the less fulfilling your life will be.

You deserve a life that’s full and rich, so set your expectations high. And  see each disappointment as an opportunity to set those expectations even  higher.

In one way, disappointment is a good thing because it means you are making an  attempt. The key to fulfillment is to keep making those attempts, to keep  raising your expectations, and to work your way forward.

A strong sense of purpose is what will keep you going. By continuing to  expect the best of yourself you can move quickly away from each  disappointment.

When you fail to reach your expectations, raise those expectations even  higher. Make it meaningful enough and you’ll make it happen.

The Daily Motivator for Feb. 12th – Get yourself through

Get yourself through

Wishing, complaining, begging and avoiding won’t do it. The way to get  through it is to go through it.

If there’s something you’ve been putting off, put it back on and get it done.  If there’s a problem that’s been chasing you, stop running, stop hiding and  start solving.

You can be amazingly resourceful and effective when you want to be. Now is  the time to want to be.

When the situation feels painful, imagine how great you will feel to get  beyond it. Imagine, and then manifest your imagined outcome by doing what you  must do.

There’s a light at the end of the tunnel, and its brightness comes from your  efforts. Make those efforts, keep that light shining brightly and get yourself  through to the other side.

You’ve made a positive difference many times before and you absolutely can do  it again. Feel your purposeful power as it successfully pushes you through.

Daily Motivator for Feb. 11th – No rush

No rush

It’s better to wait at the traffic light than to get hit speeding through as  it changes to red. It’s better to take the time and do the job right than to  rush through and get it wrong.

Before jumping ahead to what’s next, get the full value out of what’s now.  Don’t give up your quality experience of the present in a futile attempt to get  yourself more quickly into the future.

Time spent waiting never has to be a waste. You can always make it into a  valuable opportunity.

That’s because the value of each moment is not dependent on where you are or  what activity you’re engaged in. The value of your life in each moment comes  from the value you choose to give it.

If you’re in such a hurry to get somewhere else, you lose the ability to give  your best to where you are. Slow down, stop rushing and start putting real  quality, substance and richness into whatever moment you’re in.

Instead of being a slave to the clock, be a master of your own beautiful  experience. Your life right now is much too valuable to speed past, so treasure  this very moment in this very place, and make it great.

The Daily Motivator for February 8th – Start the doing

Start the doing

Don’t be too smart for your own good. Don’t be too critical of your own  work.

Prepare for what you intend to do, and plan how you will do it, but not to  the point of obsession. Sooner rather than later, finish the planning and start  the doing.

Even though you won’t get it perfect, focus all your energy on getting it  done. Even though you may have your doubts, push on through them and keep  going.

Achievement is never clean or linear. Great achievement is messy and  inconvenient, daunting and often quite unpredictable, and it is worth all  that.

You have great achievement within you, today, in this place, using what you  have and what you know. What a shame it would be to never let that unique  achievement see the light of day.

So get busy right now and begin to let it see the light of day, on this day.  You have so much to give to life, and such exquisite fulfillment to savor from  doing so.

Daily Motivator for Jan. 29th – Do this day right

Do this day right

Do this day right by getting it off to a good start. Do this day right by  giving it a meaningful, positive purpose.

You have precisely one opportunity to discover and to live the unique value  of this day. Get started on it right now.

Get started strong, and keep going with enthusiasm and love for the  possibilities. Decide that you will do something truly great with this day, and  then enjoy doing it.

Remember that every moment is a choice, and all those choices add together to  determine the quality of your day. Choose wisely, choose intentionally, and  choose to add great richness and meaning to your world today.

The immense value of this day is yours right now. Make good and purposeful  use of it so that tomorrow you’ll have no regrets.

Do this day right by living it with love, joy and authenticity. Do this day  right by bringing its outstanding possibilities fully to life.

The Daily Motivator for Jan. 27th – Making the effort

Making the effort

When you don’t feel like making the effort, the thing that will help you more  than anything else is to go ahead and make that effort. Even when you are too  tired or too bored, too distracted or too dismayed, the way out is to get busy  and put forth effort.

Wishing for things to be better won’t make things better. What will make  things better is taking positive, focused action.

Making excuses won’t make things right. The way forward is to make a real  difference by making a real effort.

Just because it’s difficult, uncomfortable and inconvenient, doesn’t mean  it’s impossible. You have what it takes to take effective action, and that is a  powerfully positive thing to do.

Instead of wasting your priceless time with procrastination, make good use of  the time that’s now yours. Spend that time making a meaningful difference.

What you get out of life depends on what you get out of yourself. Make the  effort, again and again, and give much more beautiful and meaningful life to all  of life.

The Daily Motivator for Jan. 22nd – Always give the best

Always give the best

In order to experience the best life has to offer, you must give the best of  who you are. There is no other way.

True fulfillment does not ever come from possessions, relationships or  experiences alone. Fulfillment comes from what you do to put real substance and  meaning into what you have.

The success you desire in life does not depend on the image you’re able to  project. Success is a result of the authenticity with which you live your life  in every moment.

If you attempt to cheat life, the best you can hope to get are mere tokens of  success. You deserve much more than that.

So go ahead and put in the effort and commitment necessary to make each day  truly meaningful. Do the work to be honest, creative, productive and generous in  your own unique way.

Give your best to life every chance you get. And what you’ll get in return is  a life that’s rich and full and increasingly satisfying.

Daily Motivator for Jan. 16th – Whatever you think

Whatever you think

If you think the whole world is against you, it might as well be true. If you  think there’s a way to move successfully forward, you will find that way.

What you think about life plays a major role in the way your life unfolds.  Whatever you think is going to happen will inform and influence each action you  take, so that much of what you think does indeed happen.

If you think the task in front of you will be a tedious, boring chore, that’s  what it will be. If you think the job will give you a unique opportunity to  express yourself and create new value, it certainly will.

No matter what the reality of your life may be, you can choose exactly what  to think about it. The more things you think about in a positive light, the more  positive outcomes you will create.

If you generate thoughts of worry, criticism and complaint, you will end up  creating even more things to worry, criticize and complain about. If you focus  your thoughts on how to allow, encourage and enrich, you’ll find much more  richness appearing in your life.

The thoughts you choose to think and hold are the same thoughts that  influence every moment of your life. Choose wisely, and live magnificently.

The Daily Motivator for Jan. 1st – The very best year ever

The very best year ever

To have the best year you’ve ever had, live each of its days as the best  person you’ve ever been. This year will be what you make it, and you can make it  great.

Many challenges will come your way, and unexpected interruptions will push  you off track. Yet you can make the choice to persevere, to innovate, to thrive  and to prosper no matter what.

Life is not easy and life is not fair. Nonetheless, you can live each day  with grace, integrity, purpose, love, compassion and richness.

The decisions you make in each small moment will determine how this year  unfolds for you. Decide right now to make the most of that amazing  opportunity.

All sorts of outside factors will have an impact on your life this year. Yet  the overall quality of your life will be determined by the way you choose to  be.

Choose to be your authentic best, in each moment and in every situation. And  create the very best year ever.

Daily Motivator for December 31st – Too precious to waste

Too precious to waste

This is your life, so don’t settle for a cheap imitation. Live each moment of  it with substance.

Life is too precious to waste even a little bit of it on meaningless junk.  Give your time, your attention, your efforts and your energy to what really  matters.

If something doesn’t concern you, don’t let it consume you. If something  doesn’t really matter, then let it go.

There are only so many hours in this day. Choose to spend every one of those  hours in the service of what truly matters.

Your priorities are based not on what you say or intend, but on what you  actually do with your time. Choose positive, meaningful priorities by spending  your time in positive, meaningful ways.

Devote yourself to what truly matters. And add more richness to your world  with each passing moment.

Daily Motivator for December 20th – Something good in it

Something good in it

What appears to be a problem is not just a problem. It is an invitation to  explore new positive possibilities.

What seems impossible is not entirely impossible. It is challenging you to  look at the situation from a different perspective.

The obstacles that block you are also doing you a favor. They are guiding you  to become more creative, more innovative, more determined and purposeful.

Each negative thing has a positive element. That’s because you have the  amazing ability to learn, to adapt, to create and to transform life according to  your unique, positive vision.

There’s really no need to worry about what might or might not come. For no  matter what may come, there’s a way for you to create more goodness and richness  from it.

Enthusiastically embrace each moment with open arms. There’s something good  in it, waiting for you to bring it to life.

Daily Motivator for December 16th – Better than ever

Better than ever

If you’re in a pattern that’s taking you nowhere, it’s time to create a new  pattern. That’s not nearly as difficult as it might initially sound.

You are the person who is keeping yourself stuck in an unproductive pattern.  You are the person who can move quickly, decisively and permanently to something  much better.

Stop and take an honest, objective look at what you’re doing. If you had a  good friend who was doing the same kinds of things, think of the advice you  would give that friend.

One big reason you keep doing what doesn’t work is because it feels  comfortable. So remind yourself that continuing in a negative, unproductive and  unfulfilling pattern will make you extremely uncomfortable in the long run.

Comfort feels nice, and yet fulfillment and meaningful achievement feel  thousands of times better. Your life is meant to be filled with the richness of  new experiences, not just the comfort of familiar routines.

Get yourself out of that same old pattern and get yourself on a path that  will resonate with your passion. You owe it to yourself, and to all of life, to  continue becoming better than ever.
