Today's Tarot Card for September 25 is The Chariot

The Chariot

Wednesday, Sep 25th, 2013

Traditionally, the card usually entitled the Chariot points to a triumphal feeling of freedom, as if the charioteer is being paraded through the streets as a hero (or heroine). The card reflects congratulations for high achievement, and serves as a sign of empowerment.

Huge wheels and frisky steeds speed the rate at which the driver’s willpower can be realized. This kind of charge makes more of the world accessible to anyone ambitious enough to seize the Chariot’s reins. But there is danger in this feeling of freedom, because of the increased rate of change and its power to magnify mistakes in judgment. As a seasoned warrior, the Charioteer is called upon to be extra attentive to the way ahead.

Current Moon Phase for September 20th – Full Moon

Full Moon

(waning/90% illumination)

A veil of self-absorption is lifted and suddenly you gain access to an unbiased view of others. This is a rare moment when you can see yourself objectively and become aware of whether or not what you want in your heart is actually beginning to manifest in your life. Traditionally, the Full Moon phase stirs emotion, and this is because when you “see” what is happening, you may become upset if you’re experiencing the “same ole, same ole” — rather than the things you would like. If the Full Moon phase is a disappointment, on the next New Moon it’s time to take creative action in the direction of your dreams.

Today's Tarot Card for September 18 is The Fool

The Fool

Wednesday, Sep 18th, 2013

Pamela Coleman-Smith’s artful rendition of an “innocent Fool” archetype (Rider-Waite deck) is often used to represent Tarot in general. Early classical versions of the Fool card, however, portray quite a different character — a person driven by base needs and urges, who has fallen into a state of poverty and deprivation.

In some instances, he is made out to be a carnival entertainer or a huckster. In others, he is portrayed as decrepit and vulnerable — as the cumulative result of his delusions and failures. Not until the 20th century do you see the popular Rider-Waite image of the Fool arise — that of an innocent Soul before its Fall into Matter, as yet untainted by contact with society and all its ills.

Modern decks usually borrow from the Rider-Waite imagery. Most Fool cards copy the bucolic mountainside scene, the butterfly, the potential misplaced step that will send the Fool tumbling into the unknown. Don’t forget, however, that the earlier versions of this card represented already-fallen humanity, over-identified with the material plane of existence, and beginning a pilgrimage towards self-knowledge, and eventually, wisdom. The Fool reminds us to recognize the path of personal development within ourselves — and the stage upon that path where we find ourselves — in order to energize our movement toward deeper self-realization.

Your Hot, Hot, Hot Fall Love Horoscopes for 2013

Fall Love Horoscopes 2013

As the temperature drops, your love life could heat up…

Maria DeSimone                Maria DeSimone on the topics of astrology, venus, mars, love, horoscopes, fall equinox

Autumn is coming and you’re probably craving long, cozy walks with your sweetheart. Preferably in the early evening — just when it gets cool enough for the two of you to have another excuse to snuggle in tight. Whether you’re flying solo and dreaming of romance or, if you’ve already got your hands full with someone you love, this fall there’s certainly enough Astrology happening to offer something for everyone. Between eclipse season, another Mercury Retrograde and a fascinating trend with the love planet Venus starting in November, you simply must be “in the know” about what the stars have in store for you … and your heart this fall! Read on to learn how hot your fall is really going to get!

Aries (March 21 – April 19)

This fall, you will certainly have a focus on partnership. It all begins on October 18 when a Lunar Eclipse falls in your sign offering you significant emotional fulfillment, or illumination about a personal relationship. You might feel as if you’ve found your spiritual equal if you’re newly dating someone thanks to a gorgeous trine between Venus in Sagittarius to Uranus in Aries just a couple days earlier on October 16. By December 7, your ruling planet, Mars, will enter your 7th House of Partnership for an unusual, extended visit. In fact, once we get to 2014, he’ll turn retrograde and then your relationship rehab will begin in earnest! During the last days of fall however, you and your mate might find that you’re quarreling more than usual. Ask yourself if you’re stirring up the pot just to keep things interesting or if there’s really a deeper issue at hand. Be honest with yourself.

Taurus (April 20 – May 20)

You are about to enter one of the most glorious, pleasurable cycles possible for love and sex, Taurus. Are you ready? Mars, the planet that rules your libido, will enter your 5th House of Romance and Play on October 15 where he’ll remain until December 7. This once-in-two-year-cycle will offer you an opportunity to frolic around — or fool around — with someone special. Enjoy more date nights and entertainment — you deserve it! A notable Solar Eclipse will fall in your 7th House of Partnership on November 3 and for those of you attached Taureans who feel stuck in a stale relationship, there might be an opportunity for a new start.

Gemini (May 21 – June 20)

This time around, Mercury Retrograde will only affect your love life if you’re wrapped up in a tricky office romance. From October 21 to November 10 Mercury will backtrack through your 6th House of Work and yes, miscommunication is possible in this area of your life. This might be a good time to keep work and play separate — at least temporarily. Thankfully, love potential will be quite exciting this fall for you! On October 7 until November 5 Venus will tour your 7th House of Partnership and any Geminis who are already attached will enjoy an extra harmonious time (even with Mercury Retrograde)! Then, on December 7, sexy Mars will slide into your 7th House of True Love offering a stimulating (and extra-long) cycle when it comes to dating and having fun in the bedroom!

Cancer (June 21 – July 22)

You’re floating on cloud nine these days, Cancer. In fact, you may feel as if you’ve got the world by its tail thanks to lucky Jupiter touring your sign. Blessings are likely to extend to your love life, especially as we get to the gorgeous Solar Eclipse on November 3. This eclipse will light up your 5th House of Expression and help breathe new life into your romantic happenings. Saturn is also in this part of your chart, but will enjoy the support of Jupiter in your sign as well as the eclipse energy to help bring stable, enduring love potential your way. In fact, Venus will enter your 7th House of Committed Partnerships on November 5 for an unusually long stay that will last until March of 2014! You can certainly count on revisions in the love department (most likely with a happy ending). With Mercury also retrograde in your 5th House of True Love from October 21 to November 10 it’s possible that this new love energy will arrive from an old flame who wants to start over. Be open to the possibilities.

Leo (July. 23 – Aug. 22)

You’ll kick things off with such heat this fall you might not want to believe the season is actually changing! Mars, the planet of assertive drive — including your sex drive — will be in your sign until October 15, allowing you to work your “sexy” factor. You’ll notice plenty of courage and stamina to pursue anyone who’s made your heart skip a beat. Love gets even better between October 7 and November 5 as Venus enters your 5th House of Love and Play. Expect romantic prospects at every turn. If, by some chance you’re still single, a gorgeous New Moon in your 5th house on December 2 should put an end to lonely nights once and for all.

Virgo (Aug. 23 – Sept. 22)

Fall will definitely be your season for love! Whether you’re single or attached, romantic prospects will surely intensify. The headline news is that Venus will enter Capricorn and your 5th House of True Love on November 5 and will not leave this area of your chart until March 6, 2014! Why the unusually long visit? Venus will turn retrograde leading to a very special focus on matters of the heart for you. The retrograde won’t actually happen until the Winter Solstice, but during the fall you’ll want to pay close attention to developments in your love life. It will be the situations that happen in this fall that you’ll be revising your approach to come winter. On November 7 you and someone you’re casually dating may decide to take your relationship to the next level. On November 15 Venus will cozy up to Pluto and you can surely anticipate a fated love connection if single. If attached, sparks will FLY with you and your mate!

Libra (Sept. 23 – Oct. 22)

A telling Lunar Eclipse on October 18 will illuminate the status of a close personal relationship. The truth is that you and your partner might no longer be on the same wavelength in many areas and have already spent time and energy trying to reconcile these differences. At eclipse time you’ll know whether or not your efforts have been in vain. Relief is possible however if communication lines are clear. This is due to a helpful trine between Venus in your 3rd House of Communication to Uranus, now in your 7th House of Partnerships. A mutual agreement about changing the paradigm of your relationship to one that’s less traditional might be exactly what you need to salvage it. The Full Moon in Taurus on November 17 will illuminate your 8th House of Intimacy. Will the events that transpire this fall lead you to build a wall even higher than before or will they allow you to trust and reveal yourself completely? Only you can decide.

Scorpio (Oct. 23 – Nov. 21)

This fall you can expect an “all or nothing” approach to love. Venus will be in your sign until October 7 prompting you to have a mesmerizing effect on anyone you want to attract your way. Mercury will turn retrograde in Scorpio however and from October 21 to November 10 you might stumble on your words more than usual. This could prove to be tricky if you hope to have an important conversation with someone special. If a significant decision or vital dialogue must happen between the two of you try to time it as close as possible to November 7 when you’ll have the support of Venus in your 3rd House of Communication at a friendly sextile to Neptune in your 5th House of Love and Play. Even if Mercury is retrograde at least on this day, your lover will be more forgiving of any communication mishaps. The main event however, will be a Solar Eclipse in your sign on November 3. If you’re ready to take a relationship to the next level you’ll push ahead with unstoppable force.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 – Dec. 21)

Matters of the heart will become a strong focus for you this fall once we enter eclipse season. On October 18 a Lunar Eclipse in Aries will light up your 5th House of True Love. A casual (possibly torrid) affair may end during this time — particularly if things have been rocky. Alternatively, if you’re dating someone new and your feelings are growing stronger by the day, this eclipse might prompt you to make an emotionally open declaration of love. Venus will help you since she’ll grace your sign from October 7 — November 5. During this time you’ll look more beautiful than ever and will enjoy astounding confidence. This can’t help but translate into greater powers of attraction. Lucky you: you’re sexy and you know it!

Capricorn (Dec. 22 – Jan. 19)

Your love life might seem quiet as we begin the fall season but don’t be fooled — there’s plenty of activity in store. It all begins on November 5 when Venus enters Capricorn. Typically this is a cycle where you’ll enjoy greater powers of attraction and will also look and feel more beautiful. The fascinating difference between this year’s visit of Venus to Capricorn however is that Venus will turn retrograde (on December 21) and will not leave Capricorn until March 6, 2014! This fall you must take careful notes about what transpires for you in matters of the heart as well as your overall concept of love. While everything might seem extra special now, you’ll need to practically re-assess where you are in terms of love come winter. There are gorgeous indications this fall however, that you’ll be in a happy place when it comes to romance. On November 7 Venus will be at a gorgeous angle to Neptune helping you open up to a spiritual connection with your mate. Then, on November 15 Venus will be conjunct Pluto making it clear that when it comes to love, you’ll settle for nothing less than absolute intensity! The Full Moon in Taurus on November 17 will lead to an emotional climax between you and someone special.

Aquarius (Jan. 20 – Feb. 18)

You might start off on a rough patch this fall when it comes to partnership. If you’re in a committed relationship, you’ll feel this most. Mars, the planet of action but also strife, will continue to move through your 7th House of Partnerships until October 15. After this date you’ll notice fewer arguments between you and your mate but until then, expect plenty of heat. Mercury will move retrograde from October 21 until November 10 and since Mercury rules your 5th house of Romance it’s possible that you’ll experience a few miscommunications during this time. Since Mercury will retrograde through your 10th House of Reputation, be careful about being the subject of salacious gossip. On December 17 a Full Moon in your 5th house will bring an emotionally charged situation between you and your lover to light. For better or worse, expect a turning point.

Pisces (Feb. 19 – March 20)

If you’re single and looking for love, or, if you’re dating someone new, expect the fall to be filled with romantic potential. Jupiter, the planet of expansion and abundance, will continue to move through your 5th House of True Love — a once in twelve year event! With a transit like this you might very well find the love of your life! When Venus trines Jupiter on September 26 you’ll have an even sweeter opportunity for love. If you’re already attached, Mars will enter your 7th House of Partnerships on October 15 and will remain here until December 7. There might be more arguments than usual, or you might decide to speak up for yourself with a greater amount of aggression. The funny thing is that on October 19 when Mars opposes Neptune you and your mate might scratch your foreheads in confusion, wondering what the heck it really is that you’re fighting about after all. Don’t sweat the small stuff!

Celebrating Spirituality 365 Days A Year – Laguna Indian San Jose Day

spell%20list%20(Large)

 18 and 19 September

Laguna Indian San Jose Day

During the late Summer and early Fall, the southwestern part of the United States supports an array of fiestas that honor various Catholic saints and feature elaborate processions, markets, dancing, and entertainment. The Laguna festival honoring Saint Joseph is a prime example. The pueblo of Laguna, some 45 miles west of Albuquerque, New Mexico, was established in 1697. Soon after, a Catholic mission was built there and became the official site of the festival. The origins of the festival have been lost over time, but more than likely they revolved around the mission’s patron Saint Joseph and the plentiful late Summer harvest. Today the festival still attracts thousands of people for the two-day celebration. The fiesta begins with a procession for Saint Joseph from the mission to the fairgrounds, which is followed by a noontime harvest and corn dance. After the official opening of the festival, the adults flock to the enormous market for the exchange of local products and food, while the children enjoy carnival rides and games. The fiesta concludes with demonstration dances performed by local Indian tribes and the return of the statue of Saint Joseph to the mission.

Celebrating Wiccan Spirituality: Spells, Sacred Rites, and Folklore for Each Day of the Year
By Lady Sabrina

Your Daily Horoscopes for Tuesday, September 17th

We may be confused by our own desires today because they don’t necessarily fit neatly into our current set of circumstances. The Moon drifts into psychic Pisces at 9:57 am EDT, opening our intuitive channels and sensitizing us to other people’s unspoken feelings. It’s tricky to separate our emotions from those we pick up from everyone else. Fortunately, our actions reflect our words as mental Mercury forms a supportive sextile to physical Mars.

Aries Horoscope

(Mar 21 – Apr 19)

It feels as if someone is keeping a secret from you today, yet the more you try to figure it out, the farther away the truth seems to get. Instead of worrying about what you might be missing, concentrate your attention on what you do know and act accordingly. Save your detective work for another day when others are more willing to communicate. Take the high road and see who follows.

Taurus Horoscope

(Apr 20 – May 20)

Your current dilemma requires balancing your personal desires with the needs of others at work. Fortunately, you can rely on your ability to logically analyze the differences and then make decisions based upon what will work best for a larger group. Being selfish now will only create additional problems. There’s no need to panic since you’ll probably get what you want soon enough. In the meantime, show others that you can be a valuable team player by jumping in to help.

Gemini Horoscope

(May 21 – Jun 20)

You may not have the freedom to express your feelings at work today. There could be unexpected consequences if you go ahead and say what’s on your mind, but you might choose to speak your peace anyhow. Although you aren’t responsible for the reactions of anyone else, you still need to get your job done on time. If you want other people’s cooperation, take a deep breath and consider their feelings first.

Cancer Horoscope

(Jun 21 – Jul 22)

Making travel plans for the future is tricky business today since you are likely to aspire toward more extravagance than you can actually afford. Unrealistic dreams could come crashing down to earth if you try to cover too much ground or spend too much money. Instead of running into an insurmountable obstacle, it’s smarter now to rein in your vision of an idealistic getaway. Keep it real in order to make it possible.

Leo Horoscope

(Jul 23 – Aug 22)

Your need for intimacy might create situations that ultimately make you feel uncomfortable today. It’s not that you want to avoid getting closer to someone you truly admire; it’s just that you don’t like limiting your options. Focus your attention on what you are experiencing in the present moment instead of dreaming about indefinite possibilities that may or may not happen sometime in the future. Be here now.

Virgo Horoscope

(Aug 23 – Sep 22)

Although you logically know what’s best for you, you’re still confused when people tell you what they want today. But listening to someone else doesn’t have to change what you already know about yourself, even if you are more sensitive to the needs of your partner now than to your own desires. Remember, you can be available to others while still taking care of yourself.

Libra Horoscope

(Sep 23 – Oct 22)

It’s complicated to figure out what is expected of you at work today, but that might not prevent you from trying to do what’s right. Don’t worry about the reactions of your associates, since they probably won’t tell you what they’re really thinking anyhow. Accept the fact that others may hide their true feelings because they don’t want to stir up the waters any more than necessary. You can’t go wrong if you act for the greater good of everyone involved.

Scorpio Horoscope

(Oct 23 – Nov 21)

A romantic attraction might make you feel a bit unstable today as the Moon slips into your 5th House of Love and Play. It’s natural for your feelings to swing one way and then the other as you play out the possibilities in your mind. It’s okay to acknowledge that you really don’t know what’s best, even if you want to arrive at a final conclusion now. Ease up on the controls for a while and just observe your changing moods. You’re better off postponing a relationship decision for a couple of days and enjoying the ride.

Sagittarius Horoscope

(Nov 22 – Dec 21)

Unresolved feelings about a family member may instigate a minor crisis at home today. You might try to ignore the issue by focusing on your work responsibilities, but this will probably just make matters worse. There’s no need to add to the tension with your denial when you can simply discuss your concerns without taking control of the situation. Remember, you don’t need to have all the answers at this time; just showing up is enough to make others happy.

Capricorn Horoscope

(Dec 22 – Jan 19)

Your desire to micromanage your schedule today creates more problems than it solves. Unfortunately, others may not be willing to blindly go along with your plans and there isn’t a lot that you can say or do to change their minds. Ironically, loosening your grip on the reins could actually help you to get what you want faster than you might expect.

Aquarius Horoscope

(Jan 20 – Feb 18)

A financial decision that has been weighing heavily on your mind might be resolved today in a single instant. You may have a sudden flash of inspiration that enables you to clearly see the solution that you were missing. When you realize that the issue is less about money and more about what you value, the logical choice will become crystal clear. It’s not the bottom line that counts now; it’s the feeling you have at the bottom of your heart.

Pisces Horoscope

(Feb 19 – Mar 20)

Your emotional inconsistency could be driving someone crazy today, even if you aren’t aware of your erratic behavior. Others might currently see you as irresponsible; however, you think that you know what you want and are willing to follow through with your plan to accomplish your goals. Nevertheless, your feelings are unsettled now that the Moon is back in your sign, and it would be wise to wait until after the Full Moon on Thursday before you make a major commitment. In the meantime, cultivate your dreams and see what develops.

Daily Cosmic Calendar for September 17th

With the next Full Moon occurring on Thursday, today and tomorrow become the monthly, 48-hour time-period of preparation for the enlightening spiritual vibrations getting ready to descend from the higher planes of divinity into human consciousness. Thirteen times in every calendar year, this sacred and mostly invisible process takes place — although over the past hundred years, there are now many groups that actively congregate, in a positive manner, to help bring through these exalted vibrations as purely as possible.  Providing an early support system for this preparation cycle is this morning’s Mercury-Mars 60-degree contact (12:18AM) followed shortly by a nurturing Venus-Ceres contra-parallel (1:49AM). Nevertheless, both of these aspects occur while the Moon may be laboring in a void uncertainty zone in Aquarius. A more confusing, chaotic situation can develop when Vesta in Virgo makes a fairly rare opposition to Neptune in Pisces (6:35AM). Keep your valuables and assets safe and secure.  The Moon’s entry into Pisces (6:59AM) is the monthly reminder to be more compassionate and empathic to the truly needy and disenfranchised. Steer clear of mental fatigue as Pallas forms an off-kilter, 150-degree tie with sometimes loopy Neptune (8:28AM). On the other hand, enhancing your creative imagination and psychic abilities later on fits right into the monthly union of the Moon with Neptune in Pisces (12:39PM). Experiment with a digital or video camera for fun or profit. Make a note or record especially significant dreams and visions that have set your mind ablaze during the last few days.  If you are reasonable and careful, you may be able to mix business with some moderate types of pleasure as the Moon trines Venus (8:16PM) and Saturn (9:34PM) — two celestial bodies that are on the verge of uniting in Scorpio tomorrow.  Note to readers: All times are calculated for Pacific Daylight Time. Be sure to adjust all times according to your own local time so the alignments noted above will be exact for your location.

Well It's Sunday and the Weekend Is Almost Over! Time Flies When You Are Having Fun!

I will admit, I am having a very difficult time being cheery today. I guess I want you to know something. That is we are all family. You are my brothers and sisters.  Perhaps we will never met. Perhaps we will. Either way we are still brothers and sisters.  We can also say we have the greatest mother that has ever walked this Planet, that is our Divine Goddess. Creator of all things, love for mankind beyond belief, tolerance, forgiveness. She is the Divine.

This might seem a little off subject but hang with me for a minute, okay! When I actually get a chance to get out by myself, I do a lot of talking to the Goddess.  I always have my ears open for Her soft voice to reveal the answer to me (if I am to know the answer). I was thinking the other day on September 11 about what happened 12 years ago. I was wondering in my mind how could something like that be allowed to happen. I even went so far as to say, “if our Goddess is so loving and cares for mankind the way She is suppose too.” “How could this have happened?” The answer hit me.  Our Goddess gives us life, She nurtures us, She loves us, She cares for us. She does everything a normal mother would do. She doesn’t want to see Her children killed or hurt in anyway. Then why does this stuff happen? Then I was reminded about the Fates. I had forgot about Them. The Fates know from the time we are born till our last day on this Earth. It suddenly made sense to me.

I know I say the Goddess reveals to us information she thinks we can now handle. Perhaps I had been mad at the world for way to long. That is why she revealed the Fates to me. I had always known about the Fates but I always thought all decision were left up to the Goddess. But apparently now. The Fates are the ones that control our destiny and our time on this plane. It finally made sense to me. I had always asked why my mother was taken from me at such an early age. When I asked that question, I was always down right bitter. But bitterness for my Divine Mother never felt right. In fact, it scared me to feel this way toward Her. Then the Goddess opened my eyes and showed me. Everything has it’s order in the Universe.

It is really amazing when you stop to think about it. The Goddess and The God, The Fates, our Deities, all working together to shape and mold our lives. It is indeed amazing. So with all that worked out, now begs the question, do we really have free will or is our fate already sealed?

Venus in Scorpio (September 11 to October 7, 2013)

Venus in Scorpio

The love planet sizzles in scorching Scorpio

Tarotcom Staff     Tarotcom Staff on the topics of venus, scorpio, love, astrology

It’s getting hot in here! Why? After a lovely time in Libra, love planet Venus moves into sizzling Scorpio from September 11 to October 7, 2013.

While Venus in Libra was all about making relationships peaceful and balanced, Venus in Scorpio will heat things back up to a boiling point. That’s because intense Scorpio wants to dig deep and reveal the truth about everything — including relationships.

This is a time when you and your partner will start getting to the root of your relationship, and issues of suspicion and jealousy could arise. If you want some advice on how to proceed during this time, get a Love Celtic Cross Tarot reading to help you stay cool if it gets too hot.

And realize, you won’t just be questioning each other during this time — you may also begin to question yourself and what you really want.

Scorpio shines a light into the shadows, so those nagging thoughts you tend to push aside are impossible to ignore with Venus in Scorpio. If a relationship issue has been bothering you, but you’ve been putting it aside to make peace — no more. Now it will come into focus and force you to act.

Venus in Scorpio is pretty heavy, but it can be truly amazing, too. All this intensity leads to more intimacy, so if you’re up for the challenge both emotionally and physically you could find this a deeply moving and sexy time that brings you and your partner much closer together.

Calendar of the Moon for August 30th

Calendar of the Moon

Dark Moon Night

Color: Black
Element: Air
Altar: Upon a black cloth set a single black candle, incense, an iron sickle laid to mimic the direction of the waning moon, a cup of water, a lock of silver hair, and a white bone.
Offerings: Bones. Stones. Menstrual blood. Give something up.
Daily Meal: Soup of some sort, cooked in a cauldron, eaten in silence.

Dark Moon Invocation

At this time, in the dark of the moon,
When the Silver Lady ages
To an old woman in the dark,
Haunting crossroads, working magic,
Stirring her cauldron
Of poison that heals,
Grandmother Moon of sorcery
And wisdom, who sees all
And reveals little to our searching eyes.
Moon of Death, Moon of mystery,
Moon of silence who hides her face,
Let us learn silence from your averted gaze
Let us learn patience from your aging face
Let us feel for the dark places within us
And find our way down your path in the darkness
Which is utter and complete
But not impenetrable.
As darkness wraps us,
So silence heals us.
As darkness finds us,
So silence guides us.
As darkness speaks,
So silence falls.

(The candle is blown out, and all leave in silence. From the beginning of this rite at Hesperis until the dawn, silence will rule in the house. Talking must be done only in whispers, and between no more than two people, and only for that which is necessary. Long meditation is encouraged, and all work must be done quietly if possible. The evening meal should be eaten by candlelight, and only candles may light the house, except for the sake of certain important work.)

[Pagan Book of Hours]

It's A Super-Duper Thursday! Yes! Yes! Yes! Loooong Weekend Coming UP!

Good morning my dear family and friends,

I hope you are having a great morning. Just keep thinking about that loooong weekend you have coming up. I am excited but you can’t tell, can ya’? There will be something around here to actually do for a change. The only time something happens is when it is a holiday. The rest of the time you just hang from the ceiling out of boredom, lol!

I didn’t want to get off subject but I did. I started out to tell you today’s posts might be short. The reason, I have a doctor’s appointment to go too. So if I zip out of here real quick, you know what is going on.  And of course, my little shadow, Mystie will be going with me. I think she thinks if she doesn’t go, I won’t go to the doctor appointments. Silly Girl!

Anyway, I am off to get to work. Have a beautiful and blessed day!

Love ya,

Lady A

5 Incredible Things Dogs Sense About You

5 Incredible Things Dogs Sense About You

For centuries, people have been turning to their beloved pooches for  affection and companionship. And for good reason — dogs are incredibly  perceptive and intelligent creatures. They may not understand the nuances of  everyday life, of course, but dogs have an incredible ability to understand how  their pet parents are feeling emotionally, and even physically.  Indeed, they don’t call ‘em man’s best friend for nothing!

Click through to check out some of the amazing things that your canine friend  can tell about you.

1. They Know if You’re Scared.

Heard something go bump in the night? Dogs can pick up on your fear, and will  usually mimic your behavior. If you’d like to alleviate your dog’s fear, you  need to alleviate your own first! One exception, though, would be the  several breeds that have been, well, bred, to be guard dogs.

2. They Notice Inequality.

Dogs can tell if you’re playing favorites. Let’s say you have two dogs who  both earned a treat for good behavior. If you give a treat to only one, the  other will likely pick up on that, and believe she’s done something wrong. They  can even stop cooperating all together. Perhaps there’s something us humans can  learn from this!

3. They Know Whether or Not You’re Paying  Attention.

Any pet parent with a sneaky pooch knows this one is totally true! The  science backs it up, too: studies have shown that dogs are perfectly aware  whether or not there are any people around, and will behave accordingly. Even  the most well-behaved dog on the block can’t risk temptations when no humans are  around to scold them.

4.  They Can Tell if You’re  Sick.

Dogs have long been prized — and put to work  — for their keen sense of smell. Their noses are thousands of times stronger  than the average human! Just as dogs are trained to sniff for drugs or  explosives, dogs have also been successfully trained to pick up on the extremely  subtle scents our bodies give off when we have cancer. Other dogs have been  trained to alert their pet parents when they’re about to have a seizure minutes  or even hours before an attack will happen– though it’s not entirely clear if  this skill is related to dog’s sense of smell.

5. They Know If You’re Sad.

Does your dog somehow know just what to do when you’re not feeling so happy?  You’re not imagining it — studies have shown that dogs can pick up on your  sadness and are more likely to approach you. One such study placed two people,  one crying and one quiet, in a room. Almost all of the dogs approached the  crying person, and most of those did so with submissive body language — even if  the crying person was a stranger to them. Researchers, though, aren’t entirely  clear on whether this means that dogs fully understand empathy.

Daily Cosmic Calendar for August 23

[All times are calculated for the Pacific Daylight Zone. If you are living in a different time zone, add or subtract the necessary hours so that any timed alignment will be exact where you live.]  If you are in the mood for a rebirth and regeneration of your leadership skills, then the arrival of fiery, assertive Aries Moon (12:14AM) can become a feather in your cap. Try to brush aside a mood of tension or volatility as Mars makes a frictional, 135-degree link to Chiron (2:18AM). Learning about one or more of the martial arts is one way to tweak this aspect in a favorable manner.  Tune into the shift of Mercury from grandiose Leo to behind-the-scenes master Virgo (3:38PM). Mercury is now moving at just over 2 degrees per day — its fastest movement until it eventually goes into retrograde again starting on October 21. Mercury in Virgo — to go along with yesterday’s solar movement into the same sign — provides a strong dose of organizational and efficiency-oriented themes for your utilization and possible enjoyment. Weeding, cleaning and repair work of any kind can be a joy when several celestial bodies emphasize the qualities of this sixth sign of the zodiac.  If you are looking for surprises, a mental jolt or shock to the system, you can probably find it during the monthly Moon-Uranus union in Aries (9:19PM). Advanced studies on the frontiers of science, medicine, metaphysics and astrology are yours for the taking
