sam4

Spell To Start A New Beginning

To start a new endeavor

Items You Will Need:

Yellow candle

Seeds

Small pot of soil

Water in a decorative pitcher or jar

This spell can be used to give a boost to a new endeavor (or even a new relationship) or to help you find a new start if you’re not sure what to do next. It can be done at any time, but for an extra boost, try doing it at the New Moon.

Focus on what you are starting ( or on what you might want to start or achieve, if you aren’t sure), then light the candle and follow the directions in the spell.

(Hold the Seeds in your Hands)

Bless this new beginning
A gift from the Gods
Which I accept with gratitude and appreciation

(Put seeds in soil)

Let it be productive like the Earth
And nurtured by the warmth of the Sun

(Pour Water on seeds)

Let it flow smoothly like the water
And carry me in a positive direction
Like a seed blown on the winds
Bless this new beginning
That it may broaden my horizons
Strength and enlighten me.
And help my spirit to grow and blossom

So Mote It Be.

The Witches Spell for Nov. 19 – Spell to Deflect Evil

sam4

SPELL TO DEFLECT EVIL

Creek stones and an Earthen bowl of water are used in this ritual. Its purpose is to deflect negativity.

Fill the bowl nearly full of creek stones, then fill the bowl with water. The chant used here is:

Bowl of reflection stones of protection
may the reason of my harm feel the power of this charm
Sisters three come work for me
bowl detect stones deflect and water reflect
peace and harmony now come to me as I will So Mote It Be!

Change the water once a week and renew the chant. Throw the old water on your doorstep.
The sisters of the Wyrd are incorporated here. The bowl stands for the first sister, she of the past; the stones stand for the present and the second sister; the third action, that of reflection, is for the sister of the future.

The Witches Magick for November 17th – Perfect Health Potion

sam7

Perfect Health Potion

When you find something is “going around,” you should make this potion immediately.

Taking doses of the Perfect Health potion once a week on a regular basis will keep you healthy and fit. And at the first signs of feeling under the weather, brew up a new batch right away.

Here are the Items You will need:

Garlic cloves (the more the merrier)

Apple cider vinegar or red wine vinegar

Choose four of the following herbs:

Whole cayenne pepper

Lavender

Mint

Rosemary

Rue

Sage

Thyme

Wormwood

To brew the Perfect Health Potion, peel the garlic cloves and add them to the vinegar.

Add the other herbs, and shake very well until blended.

Allow the potion to steep in a cool, dark place for seven days.

Don’t take more than a tablespoon or two at one time.

Actually, this potion also makes a great salad dressing.

And here’s another interesting fact the Perfect Health Potion…

Legend has it that this potion was created in Europe in the Middle Ages, at the height of the plague epidemic. There was a group of thieves that, in the middle of the death, chaos, and quarantines around them, would enter the homes of the sick and dying and rob them.

Yet they never got sick. And when they were finally caught and sentenced to death, they cut a deal. Let us go free, they said, and we will give your our secret to staying healthy in the midst of this plague.

This potion, as legend has it, is a variation of their original recipe. And while you may not be taking it in order to commit robbery, you have to admit that the legend is pretty interesting.

Invocation of Being

Invocation of Being

Long have we wandered and been apart from her shores.
Long have we flown on unseeing wings.

The eagle soars high on boundless feeling.
Long have we felt the groundless without root, or presence.
Long have we been valient in the name of love.
Long have we allowed nameless fears to limit our possibilities.

The forest continues it’s endless cycle of ages.
Long have we felt alone in expectant solitude.
Long have we danced our own lives to the dream of wisdom
to the unbearable void of ourselves.

The tide washes evenly on deserted shores.
Forever we are one. Forever we ignite out being in the elemental fire of our spirit.

The golden age dweller.
The playful sprite.
The hooded wanderer.
The tortured seeker.

The power of being is ours to hold.
The beauty of now is here for the taking.
Forever and tonight,
we bathe in the majesty of wonder.

The Witches Spell for Nov. 15th – Breaeaking an Unwanted (Love) Spell

sam9

Breaking an Unwanted (Love) Spell

This can be altered to fit any type of unwanted spell, or to zero in on one specific spell.

Perform this only if you are certain you are under a spell that is not in your best interests. It is wise to perform divination beforehand to see whether you are and whether that is the right course of action to take.

Incense: Frankincense, Sage or any appropriate cleansing/purifying incense or one that is personally empowering.

Timing: As needed, during the Waning Moon, at or just prior to Midnight.

Items Needed:

A candle (black for banishing or white for purity, cleansing & freedom)

Appropriate anointing oil

Unshelled pistachios

9 in number (or any number that is great significant to you personally).

Ritual:

Anoint your candle if desired, light it and the incense, set them in appropriate burners, visualizing yourself being freed.

Take one pistachio. Forcibly break it open, visualizing the unwanted spell breaking as the shell breaks. The more emotion you can put into the breaking of the shell, the better.

As you do this chant: “So may it broken be/ Any (love) spell cast on me/ That was cast not by my hand/ As I will, free and clear I stand!”

Continue this fashion until all 9 pistachios have been shelled. Eat the pistachios, knowing that you are now free.

Amazing Pagan Grace

I am sure you have read “Amazing Pagan Grace.” I love it very much and I occasionally have to post it. If you have read it before, forgive me but it is dear to my heart. For those who haven’t, Enjoy! It has the same tune as “Amazing Grace.”

Witchy Comments & Graphics

Amazing grace, how sweet the Earth
that bore a witch like me!
I once was burned, now I survive,
was hung and now I sing.

T’was grace that drew down the moon
and grace that raised the seas.
The magic in the people’s will
will set our Mother free.

We face the East and breathe the winds
that move across this earth.
From gentle breeze to hurricane
our breath will bring forth the change.

Turn towards the South and feel the fire
that burns in you and me.
The spirit’s flame will rise again
and burn eternally.

We greet the West, our souls awash
in tides of primal birth.
Our tears and blood, our pain and love
will cleanse and heal the earth.

Reach into the North and know your roots
down deep ancestral caves.
We find the wisdom of the Crone,
Of circles we are made.

Amazing earth, enduring life,
from death into rebirth.
T’is earth I am and earth I love
and earth I’ll always be.

Amazing grace, how sweet the Earth
that bore witches like we.

were hung and now we sing.

Our magic spirals on.

And must take it on trust
Faith is the soft voice
Of the Goddess of Old
Who warms us in the Winter
And wards off the cold.

Let my heart feel the warmth
Let my soul hear Her voice
Let me find faith in the Darkness
And my Spirit rejoice.

Let me find my Divine Mother

Daily Fun Quiz – “What Your Car Says About You?”

What Your Car Says About You

By Brie Cadman, DivineCaroline

Young men drive Camaros, soccer moms drive minivans, and rich snobs  drive Bentleys. We usually associate a certain type of car with a certain type  of person, but do we really know who’s behind the wheel? After all, our  perception of a car is largely based on how it was marketed—Volvos for safety,  Porsches for speed. But it can be tough to decipher whether people buy a car  because they think it will make them out to be something they are or may not be,  or because the same group of people always buy the same type of car. That’s  because psychographics—grouping customers according to beliefs and attitudes and  selling them products to fit their group—is at play.

So what does your car say about you? What is that SUV driver really supposed  to be like? Here’s a clue.

Small Car: Prius, Honda Civic, Smart Car According to a  study by researchers at UC Davis,  small car drivers are more  pro-environmental and prefer higher density neighborhoods than drivers of others  types of cars. This isn’t surprising; if you live in a big city, it’s simply  easier to park with a small car and if you’re concerned about the environment,  you’ll want something that’s more fuel-efficient. Small car drivers, unlike  other categories of drivers, don’t necessarily see their cars as a ticket to  freedom. They aren’t workaholics or status seekers who try to display wealth.  They want to lessen their impact on the earth and have a  reliable car—and find a parking spot.

Mid-Sized Car: Chevrolet Sedan The authors of the study  found that “mid-sized car drivers have no distinct travel attitude, personality,  lifestyle, mobility, or travel-liking characteristics.” Ouch! Does that mean  they’re totally boring? Maybe, or maybe just pragmatic, or maybe they got their  cars as a hand-me-down. The owners were more likely to be female and homemakers;  they also had higher incomes.

If you’re driving an American-made sedan, you might belong to the group  psychographers call “belongers.” That’s those who need to belong to a group, are  very nationalistic, and don’t like change. The stereotype of this person is  someone who lives in an average town in the Midwest. When not driving a sedan,  they may also be in a U.S.-made pickup or station wagon.

Luxury Cars: Cadillac, Lexus Those who drive luxury cars  are—no surprise—status seekers; they also are more apt to drive long distances.  Men and older or retired people are more likely to drive luxury cars. In  particular, luxury car drivers are over-represented among highly-educated and  higher-income people.

In psychographic lingo, the “achievers”—profit-oriented workaholics who like  being independent—are also likely to drive luxury cars and/or sports cars.

Sports Cars: BMW, Porsches Those who are adventure seekers (even if they never get out of the car) drive sports cars. They’re not calm and are more likely than average to have a college degree. Surprisingly, based on the cost of most sports cars, they were more likely to have lower incomes. Some of these may fall into the category of “emulator”—younger, financially unstable, low self-esteem people who buy flashy cars that aren’t true sports or luxury cars to try to emulate achievers.

Minivan/Van In the study, minivan drivers tended to be calm and weren’t loners. (Who would buy such a big car just for themselves?) They enjoyed traveling in their car; they were more likely to live in the suburbs, be females, homemakers, and aged forty-one to sixty-four, and surprise surprise, have children.

Pickup In the study, pickup drivers don’t like high-density living situations and are more likely to be dissatisfied with their lives. They tend to be workaholics, have lower education, be full-time employees, have service related jobs, and be middle-income.

SUV It’s not surprising that people who favored larger cars were less environmentally-minded. SUV drivers, in particular, also liked to travel short distances in their cars. They were more likely to be suburbanites, aged forty or younger. The drivers came from larger households that were more likely to have children.

Not only might the type of car you drive say something about you, so does the  color. According to a survey done in Great Britain, certain colors indicate  certain personalities. Here are some generalities:

  • Black: aggressive personality, rebel
  • Silver: cool, calm, may be a loner
  • Green: reactive
  • Yellow: idealistic
  • Blue: introspective, reflective, and cautious
  • Red: someone who is full of energy and pizzazz
  • White: status seekers, gregarious
  • Cream: contained and controlled

Whether we choose cars for how we want others to perceive us, or if we are  simply concerned with price and function, what we drive can send some serious  messages.

Let’s Talk Witch – The Written Spell

Witchy Cat Graphics & Comments
Let’s Talk Witch – The Written Spell

Spoken spells have a transitory force, affecting only the action to which they are directed. Written spells, on the other hand, are thought to last as long as the written spell is in existence. To maintain the long term effect of the written spell, many of the prayers of the Egyptians were written on coffins and placed in the Book of the Dead with the mummy.

As written spells combine the effect of symbols, these spells are thought to be far more potent than other kind. The Islamic Koran is, as the revealed word of God, a sort of written spell in itself. Anyone who has heard it read aloud in Arabic knows that it is also a spoken spell of great beauty, even to those who cannot understand the language. The Latin psalms have the same quality, but without the tonal beauty which is found in the Arabic language.

Older written spells on parchment, some of which have been in existence for hundreds of years are particularly revered. In many cases their real effect lies in the fact that so many people believe in them. Some older writings have taken on a magickal aura solely due to their age.

Because of their strangeness and the mystical power associated with strangeness, spells written in a foreign language or in a mystical or magickal alphabet are also thought to have great power. This is one reason why spells written in Hebrew characters are supposed to be superior in quality. In the Middle Ages, a talisman was a man who wore a tallis, the shirt or undershirt worn by orthodox Jews. As this was felt to be a source of power to them, the idea of talisman quickly transfered to a spell written to give power or protection. In the first thousand years of Christianity, Hebrew was the pre-eminent language for the writing of spells and Jews, who were the most literate members of any European community, were the pre-eminent “magicians of choice.”

This obviously lead to some silly situations. One old “authentic spell” in a European museum was removed from display when it was pointed out that the words of the spell said, “What is the meaning of this?” in Hebrew characters transliterating medieval French! It had been supposed to be a spell to call upon a demon to cure sick children.

Written spells form another branch of the spell-caster’s art. In the Hex practice of the Pennsylvania Dutch country, himmelbriefs, or heavenly letters, are designed to act to protect the one who carries them against ills and evils of all kinds. The older versions were written with painstaking care by the hexenmeister who copied them one letter at a time. The newer versions are usually mimeographed copies of a typed original which are sold for a dollar or two as curios.

Just as a spoken spell requires a certain ability to use one’s voice, a written spell requires a certain ability to concentrate upon what one is writing, and hold the image of the desired work for the spell throughout the entire operation. The spell should be written with absolute concentration on every letter of the spell. It should then be read aloud in the same manner when it is finished. If the spell is to be given to someone it should be enclosed in an envelope, but not sealed. Most of these spells are to be carried on the person when they are in use.

The Witches’ Spell for Nov. 9th – Cursed or Blessed

sam9

CURSED OR BLESSED

You need:

Piece of burlap

piece of wool

piece of silk

Some polished stones (polished) from a river or stream

A live leaf

A bowl of fruit and/or bread

A dead branch

Lay the silk, wool and burlap at the foot of your bed in that order. About 5 feet from the foot of your bed, toward the left, lay the branch. About 5 feet from the foot of your bead, toward the right, place the bowl.  The branch is the barren curse and the bowl is the bountiful life that withers the curse.  Lay one stone on each cloth then lay a path from the wool, straight down the center, between the bowl and the branch.  The stones must touch. At the end lay the leaf.  By laying the stones, you show respect for the fates and the balance of life.  Light three candles and incense and meditate over the rite.  Sleep without touching the items.  When you wake, watch how much the stones have moved.  If they bias the branch, you are cursed.  If they bias the bowl, you are blessed.  If it doesn’t move, no outside force is affecting you.  If you are cursed, how far it has moved will determine the strength of the curse. Reset the path, and that night, light the three candles and the incense and meditate again over the rite.  Sleep again without touching anything. The path should have moved less than the first time.  Repeat this every night until the path stays in the middle.  Next, move the path toward the bowl following the same meditation and sleep process as before.  Continue this every night until the path stays at the bowl.  When it has done so, you may complete the rite.  Touch nothing, but for the three following nights, meditate over the rite, to seal your new fate.  The stones must be returned to the river or stream where you got them from .  The branch must be returned to the forest floor where you found it, and the leaf cast to the wind.  The bowl of fruit must be eaten,  and the cloth must be saved in a dark place, undisturbed.

Magick Is Not To Be used To Gain Power Over Others

MAGIC IS NOT TO BE USED TO GAIN POWER OVER OTHERS.

Magic is a technique used in developing your own    ‘power from within.’ Spells  that are directed at gaining power over others weaken the ‘power from  within.’ Aside from the damage done to oneself, it is important for  another reason. Many people who do not understand the laws of magic  are afraid of being attacked magically and are given to paranoia.
The  witch’s main stock-in-trade used to be removing a competitor’s hexes
and preparing charms to protect their clients. While true psychic
attacks are EXTREMELY RARE, a person’s guilt makes up for any lack,
and after using ‘forbidden’ help, their paranoia leads them to seek
protection from the same person they just turned to in desperation.
Do yourself a favor, and resist the temptation to ‘help’ these types.
Most magical formularies consist of formulae gathered and tested by
witches as well as many charms to protect the common man from those
same witches who sold them their charms.

Think Before You Cast

Think before you cast

HOW TO CAST A SPELL
To cast a sepll you have to follow the basic ritual structure.
Preparing the Altar.(nothing too elaborate, just a few of your favorite tools). Lighting the    candles.
Cleansing the area.
Casting the circle.
Invoking the elements.
Invoking the Deities.
Stating the Purpose of the ritual.
Magickal workings or devotions.
Raising the Energy. Releasing the Energy.
Grounding.
Thanking the Deities.
Thanking the elements.
Closing(or sometimes called opening) the circle.
Cakes and ale.
At the magick working section, you have to use your spell. In this spell you have to use the    correspondences to make a good ritual. You have to use the correct herbs, essential oils, foods, trees, flowers, crystals, colours, days, time, planetary    hour, zodiac hour. Look along them to see which fits in to what you want, let’s say protection:
Herbs – These can be used in a spell around a candle and then put in a silk bag (of appropriate colour)    and carried around as a charm bag. They add energy to the spell.
Essential Oils – These can be annointed on the candle or charm bag, made later
Foods – These can be eaten after the ritual, and for a week after, or until you don’t need the    spell anymore, to help you feel more protected.
Trees – These can be used in a wand, or in a talisman, as a writing tablet, where you inscribe symbols,    numbers and words. They can also be placed into the charm bag.
Flowers – These can be planted around your house and picked for the spell. The flowers will also act as    a protective barrier and as a home for fae, who will help too.
Crystals – These can be used in the spell and afterwards placed in the charm bag. You can make    protective patterns from many crystals and that will help protect too.
Days, Times, Planetary Hours, Zodiac Hours – These are used for the right moon phase, sun phase, zodiac    house etc. to help achieve the goal. When used in conjunction, all in the right way, there is a particular influece in that time which will help the spell    to travel, and for you to concentrate.

The Witches Spell for Nov. 8th: Spell to Protect Children from Bullies

goth114

Spell to Protect Children from Bullies

If your child is being bullied at school, you should make plans to get your child out of that school immediately. Don’t wait for teachers or administrators to take responsibility. Chances are they won’t. Meanwhile, your child is suffering and maybe in terrible danger.

Until you sort out your practical plan of action, protect your child with this spell:

Make or purchase a poppet. These are featureless rag dolls usually made of muslin. They can sometimes be found at hobby or craft stores.

Fill it with any combination of the following protective herbs:

Lavender

Chamomile

Rose Petals

Clover

Angelica

Comfrey

Elecampane

Mugwort

Add a few of your child’s hairs or nail clippings.

Place the poppet on your altar and arrange 9 pink candles in a circle around it. In between each candle place a clear quartz crystal.

Light each candle and say, “Goddess (God, protective angels or other powerful spirit), protect my child with light and love.”

Imagine a pink cloud enveloping the poppet and radiating a protective glow.

When the candles have burned down. Wrap the poppet in a pink cloth and place it in a drawer where it will be safe.
