Summer Invocation

Fireflies and summer sun
in circles round
we become as one.
Singing songs at magic’s hour
we bring the winds
and timeless powers.
Turning inward, hand in hand
we dance the hearth
to heal the land.
Standing silent, beneath the sky
we catch the fire
from out God’s eye.
Swaying breathless, beside the sea
we call the Goddess
so mote it be!

(This can be used as a chant, part of a spiral dance, or to invoke quarters.)

Specific Methods of Psychic Protection

Specific Methods of Psychic Protection

1) Heal the aura. The best thing to do this is to go to a reliable healer who should be able to do the job easily.

2) Clear the atmosphere. Use pomegranate leaves or a small brush to sprinkle consecrated salt water all over the house or that particular room. The consecration can be simply done by saying a prayer or repeating an invocation while the salt water is being prepared. This is done by sprinkling a spoonful of salt into a bowl of water. While doing this and while sprinkling the ‘holy’ water onto the walls of the house, repeat your prayer or invocation.

3) Break contact with troubling forces. Move to a new environment with a new set of clothes and with as little belongings as possible. If moving house is not possible, change your room. If you cannot change your room, change the direction of the bed. In moving to a new abode, it is better if one can cross running water (river or sea), as this will help by throwing off the scent of the attacker, but a spirit can still follow you. After arriving at the new place, bathe in salt water while chanting an invocation or prayer at the same time. Do it like a ritual. After this, strengthen your aura once again.

4) Disposal of belongings. Personal belongings such as clothes, shirts, jacket and raincoats etc should be sunned in the open for 3 days before giving them away. Similarly, furniture, chairs and mattresses should also be sunned for 3 days before they are disposed off. Of course hairs, nail clippings, handkerchiefs and menstrual pads should be burnt. Similarly, night soil, urine, sperms and blood material should be meticulously dealt with, because they are all magnetized objects.

5) Ancillary measures. Small quantities of consecrated salt water or nitric acid in small saucers should be left all over the room or house. These are changed every few days. Whole cloves of onions and garlic may also be left in the room for human and non-human visitors. They should also be burnt after some time.

6) Magic Circle. Before one sleeps, imagine a Ring of Fire around the bed in a clockwise fashion (deosil). Do the same to your companion’s bed. Then white light both beds at once.

7) Pentagram. This is performed as according to the diagram. Start with the right hand down across at the level of the left hip. The next step is to move the hand upward to the center above the head with the 1st and 2nd fingers pointing to the heavens. Then move the hand down again to the right hip. Then swing your hand across to the level of the left shoulder with the fingers pointing to the left. Then, cut across with the hand ending at the right shoulder with the fingers pointing away from the body. Lastly, swing the hand across and down to the left hip again. This pentagram will banish all thought forms, elementals, nature spirits and ghosts. As with white lighting, the pentagram can be use to protect our cars, houses, pets and loved ones

8) Green pyramid. This is another form of visualization that can protect us from offending intruders. Either lie or sit down and go into silence, i.e. withdrawing from all external thoughts. Then visualize that you are encased in a green pyramid, whose base is beneath your floor, and the apex is above your head. Make sure that the sides of the pyramid are firmly attached to the base, and tightly converged at the apex. If you need to move, attach wheels to the pyramid, and if you want to look out, create a window. Then open your eyes to survey your surroundings. Finally, you may either go into meditation or sleep, and you can rest assured that the pyramid remains intact. Similarly, you can encase your car, house, and loved ones with a pyramid. This pyramid will prevent any intrusion from all sorts of predators.

9) Protecting the solar plexus. There are 3 methods you can protect your 3rd chakra. Firstly, close all your chakras, except the 7th. Then put a sheet of glass around your solar plexus, when you are interviewing someone, who is sapping your energy. You can still talk, but you will not be sapped. Secondly, you can create a brick wall around you. In this instance nobody can communicate with you. Lastly, like in the cowboy films, press your elbows to your sides and put your both hands in front your solar plexus with both thumbs hitch onto your belt or top of your trousers. In these instances, the person in front of you will not be able to absorb your energy.

10) Gazing. When you are facing a potential attacker, do not gaze into his eyes. Look at his 3rd eye, i.e. the middle of his forehead between his two eyes. When you just concentrate on his 3rd eye he has no power over you.

11) Occult Police. Imagine a black Calvary cross on a circle of scarlet background at your 3rd eye. A Calvary cross is one, which the vertical line is longer than the horizontal line. Then call for help. Either your own guide (guardian angel) or the roaming spiritual ‘police’ will come to your aid.

12) Mirrors. If you are worried that your house will be attacked put small mirrors at every window facing outwards. If you know that a colleague in your office is sending you negative or hate energy, put a small mirror facing him on your desk. The hate energy will revert back to the sender.

Not all the ancillary methods will work for you. However choose one, and try it out. If you fail, try another. If you find one that works with you and you are comfortable with it, stick to that one. However, the most powerful ones are the general measures, through which most attackers cannot penetrate, unless the offender is a very experienced occultist.

INVOCATION – WHAT IS IT?

How?

Invocation is not so hard. You don’t need to be a rocket scientists for that,
You need just a sparkle of imagination and most of all, You need to relax, to
feel Your internal peace and power. This is usually made with meditation or some

Gardnerian Traditional Witchcraft – B.3. The Scourge and the Kiss. (1953)

Gardnerian Traditional Witchcraft – B.3. The Scourge and the Kiss. (1953)

B.3. The Scourge and the Kiss. (1953)
[1] Invocation
(Feet, knees, and wrists should be tightly bound to retard blood.) Scourge 40 or more, to make skin tingle, then say, invoking Goddess,
Hail, Aradia, from the Amalthean horn
Pour forth thy store of Love.  I lowly bend
Before Thee!  I invoke thee at the end
When other Gods are fallen and put to scorn.
Thy foot is to my lips!  My sighs inborn
Rise, touch, curl about thy heart.  Then spend,
Pitiful Love, loveliest Pity, descend
And bring me luck who am lonely and forlorn.

Ask the Goddess to help you to obtain your desires, then Scourge again to bind the spell. This be powerful in ill luck and for sickness.  It must be said in a Circle, and you must be properly prepared and well purified, both before and after saying, to bind the spell.
Before starting you must make a very clear picture in your mind of what you wish.  Make yourself see the wish obtained.  Be sure in your own mind exactly what it is and how it is to be fulfilled.
This spell is the one that was taught to me long ago and I have found it works, but I don’t think there is any special virtue in these words.  Any others can be substituted provided they ask the goddess’s (or gods’) help, and say clearly what you wish and you form the clear mental image; and if it doesn’t work at first, keep on trying till it works.  Your helper, who wields the scourge, must know what you wish, and also form the mental image.  And at first at any rate, it will be better for you to work the spell, then for the girl to take your place and work it also; you scourge her.  Don’t try anything difficult at first, and do it at least once a week till it works.  You have to get into sympathy with each other, before anything happens, and regular working helps this.
Of spells, the exact words matter little if the intent be clear and you raise the true power, and sufficient thereof.  Always in rhyme they are. There is something queer about rhyme.  I have tried, and the same seem to lose their power if you miss the rhyme.  Also in rhyme, the words seem to say themselves.  You do not have to pause and think: “What comes next?”  Doing this takes away much of your intent.
[2] Order and discipline must be kept.  A High Priest or Priestess may and should punish all faults to this end, and all of the Cult must accept such corrections willingly.  All are brothers and sisters, for this reason: that even the High Priestess must submit to the scourge.  Each fault should be corrected separately.  The Priest or Priestess must be properly prepared and call the culprit to trial.  They must be prepared as for initiation and kneel, be told their fault and sentence pronounced.  Punishment should be the scourge, followed by a forfeit such as several fivefold kisses or something of this nature.  The culprit must acknowledge the justice of the punishment by kissing hands and scourge on receiving sentence and again when thanking for punishment received.*
[3] The scourgings are 3, 7, 9 (thrice three), and 21 (thrice seven) 40 in all.  It is not meet to make offerings [scourgings] of less than two score to the Goddess, for here be a mystery.  The fortunate numbers be: 3 and 5.  For three added to two (the Perfect Couple) be five.  And three and five be eight; eight and five be thirteen; thirteen and eight be twenty-one.
The Fivefold Kiss is called 5, but there are 8 kisses, for there be 2 feet and 2 knees and genitals and 2 breasts and the lips. And 5 times 8 be two score.  Also, fortunate numbers be 3, 7, 8, and 21, which total 40, or two score.  For each man and woman hath ten fingers and ten toes, so each totals a score.  And a perfect couple be two score.
So a lesser number would not be perfect prayer. If more are required make it a perfect number, as four score or six score.
Also there be Eight Elemental Weapons.
[4] To make the anointing ointment, take some glazed pans filled half full with grease or olive oil.  Put in one sweet mint, marjoram in another, ground thyme in a 3rd, and it you may have it, patchouli, dried leaves pounded.  Place pans in hot water bath.  Stir and cook for several hours, then pout into linen bags, and squeeze grease through into pans again, and fill up with fresh leaves.  After doing this several times, the grease will be highly perfumed.  Then mix all together and store in a well-corked jar.
Anoint behind ears, throat, armpits, breasts, and womb.  Also, for all ceremonies where the feet are kissed, they should also be anointed.

Invocation of Being

Long have we wandered and been apart from her shores.
Long have we flown on unseeing wings.

The eagle soars high on boundless feeling.
Long have we felt the groundless without root, or presence.
Long have we been valient in the name of love.
Long have we allowed nameless fears to limit our possibilities.

The forest continues it’s endless cycle of ages.
Long have we felt alone in expectant solitude.
Long have we danced our own lives to the dream of wisdom
to the unbearable void of ourselves.

The tide washes evenly on deserted shores.
Forever we are one. Forever we ignite out being in the elemental fire of our spirit.

The golden age dweller.
The playful sprite.
The hooded wanderer.
The tortured seeker.

The power of being is ours to hold.
The beauty of now is here for the taking.
Forever and tonight,
we bathe in the majesty of wonder.

I is for Invoking

I

Invoking

Invoking is a form of voluntary possession. When you invoke a deity or being, you’re not asking it to come hang out, you’re inviting into yourself, and that god or goddess will manifest through a human host. The ritual of  is an excellent example of invocation of deity.

Typically, if you’re new to spiritual practices such as Wicca or Paganism, most people will advise you to hold off on invoking deity until you’ve learned enough to have a good handle on what’s happening. It may be a good idea to focus instead on evoking, and communing with the gods, before you go inviting them to take control of you, even if it is just on a temporary basis.

Samhain Spell – Spell for Astral Travel

SPELL FOR ASTRAL TRAVEL

(an out of body or lucid dreaming experience.)
“Syn, good Goddess of Locks and Doors, Open the Gates I now Implore.
Allow me to pass through the Astral veil; with speed, Grant fair winds to me sail. And when I’ve gained what I can learn, Roman Grant a hasty return”

Say this before Astral projection! I personally enjoy this one it really helps when I am trying to have an out of body experience. Most of the people would agree with me to use a meditation before some invocations to the
Gods and Goddesses. I would personally recommend it very much, because meditation allows you to float in the magical world, where you can make spells, pray, as well as meeting new friends from the other world. When preparing yourself for the magical working, let the feeling of love and peace flood your mind and your heart. That way you will never, ever hurt anyone
within the magical workings. (This is my personal advice. You do not have to take it but karma and the rule of three are real and you do tend to get back what you send out.)
When? waxing moon for spells of invitation or increase -Examples: spells to find love or get a job waning moon for spells of banishing or decrease -Examples: spells to end loneliness or financial problems full moon for: -maximum power -coven work

Gemini communication
Cancer psychic work, lunar magic
Leo leadership, solar power
Virgo purification
Libra balance, work in law or for justice
Scorpio power
Sagittarius honesty, expansion
Capricorn overcoming obstacles
Aquarius healing
Pisces psychic work, endings

But, often spells are not made for traditional purposes, but for custom or adapted by you to suit a purpose or intent you fashion or look them up for in your personal Book of Shadows.
Who? This is very large question. It depends of what You believe in (I believe in Goddess, but for spells I use Gods also). You can use Gods, Goddess, Spirits, Heroes, etc. Try a good Wicca or Witchcraft Web page for a list of Gods and Goddesses and Invocations and Chants for Invoking them.

The Process of Invocation

The Process of Invocation

Author: Michael ‘Blackthorn’ Furie
Much has been said and written about the fact that witches ‘go directly to the source’ and through invocation, personally commune with our Deities. Unfortunately, very little has been written about the nature or structure of the process (and believe me, it is a process) of invocation, of either the techniques of the process or the actual feeling of such an experience.

Now I know that as witches, many of us pride ourselves on our ability to keep a magical secret and while I do see merit in this, I think that it does a great disservice to many people who are truly seeking to deepen their spiritual connection and walk with the Gods. That is why I have decided to decode this secret, so to speak. I’m not including the personal invocatory rites of my tradition as I do intent to keep them secret. I do however fully intend to give out all the tools necessary for anyone that wishes to create their own rites, to do so successfully.

First, let’s begin at the beginning by defining our understanding of what the Gods are. In my tradition, the Gods are seen as distinct individuals (as opposed to facets or aspects of the whole) and with the exception of the Great Mother Goddess They are, although very powerful, not omnipotent. This is why we must invoke Them if we wish to communicate. We set our intention, call to Them, create a link and stretch our consciousness.

If They wish to commune with us, They will respond and follow our link. There are some that feel that the Gods need our worship and that it sustains Them. Whether you share this view or not, it is true that They need us to send our energy during invocation to help Them manifest. The reason for this is that our doing so creates a current of energy that acts as a beacon, leading back to us. The exception of course would be the Great Goddess, since everything in creation is a part of Her already and She is truly omnipotent. I will say however, that building an energy current to connect to Her will speed the process along and make a stronger connection.

Before attempting any invocation, it is vital to have a preexisting desire to connect to a specific Deity. If you don’t have a chosen Deity yet then, research, research, research! When you have found a Deity that ‘speaks’ to you, study the myths and legends about them and what herbs, stones, animals, colors, and symbols are sacred to Them.

When you have a solid understanding of Their nature and worship, it is a good idea to set up an altar using the colors, herbs, etc. that appeal to Them. As a minimum, have an offering bowl on the altar and a candle of the chosen color. Begin a daily devotional at this altar by lighting the candle and placing a bit of food or drink in the bowl (to be buried later) and then praying or writing verse to your Deity.

This is a minor form of invocation and helps build your connection to the Deity even before you undertake the full invocatory process. During these devotionals, it is a good idea to ask the Deity to send you signs throughout your everyday life if They wish to communicate with you. Keep a journal for at least one full cycle of the moon.

If, after this cycle you feel that the Deity wishes you to commune then, the next step of the conscious building of faith may be taken. This is a very important step in the invocatory process. The subconscious mind is a link to the hidden sphere of our psyche that connects directly to the Gods.

In order to open ourselves to this sphere, we must program the subconscious by a deliberate act of will. What this amounts to, practically speaking is the creation and use of what are known as ‘words of power’ to help our minds open to greater awareness. To create words of power, you first need to have a basic knowledge of your chosen Deity.

As an example, let’s say that your chosen Deity is a Sun Goddess. To create the words of power to connect to Her you will need to be in a sunny location that you would consider a place suited to Her taste. Then, you will need to immerse yourself in total awareness of Her power. In this case, I would recommend sunbathing (safely, with sunscreen of course!) while meditating on Her qualities.

When you feel a connection to Her, state your chosen word, words, or phrase out loud and also state that whenever you say these words, the memory of this experience will fill your mind once more. The words chosen can be anything but, should relate in some way to the chosen Deity. An example would be, ‘The power of Name of Deity fills me now.’ You may repeat this exercise as often as you wish, but let’s now move to the final step; putting our process together.

Invocation

To begin the invocation process, as stated earlier, we must first set our intention; we wish to communicate directly with Chosen Deity. Next, we must clear the mind through meditation and reach a receptive relaxed mental state (this is now recognized as the alpha brain wave level) . We must also release our preconceived notions about how invocation should occur or what the process will be like; just surrender to the process of communion. When we are in a receptive mental state, we must visualize the Deity in whatever concept you have of Them and also, visualize a beam of energy extending from either your ‘third eye’ or heart (depending on personal preference) out to Them in their realm.

Now, call on the Deity and repeat the words of power that you have created while rocking gently back and forth, adding a ‘tugging’ feeling to the beam of energy in order to create a pathway for alignment. After the connection is felt, you may communicate in whatever way you wish. For me, the first time invocation was achieved the Goddess opened my third eye and I began to rapidly develop certain abilities, psi empathy being the primary one. I can only speak for myself and your results may vary.

This process must be repeated, usually several times in order for it to work. Repetition trains the mind and Spirit and creates a strong link to the chosen Deity. Of course, there is a chance for whatever reason, that the Deity will not wish to commune. Always remember that these are conscious, three dimensional beings with a will of their own; they are Gods after all. Never forget this. Never patronize or diminish them or you will feel their wrath.

I hope that this information will help any and all that wish to deepen their connection to the Gods.

Blessed be.

LAMP SCRYING

LAMP SCRYING

Both the Egyptions and Babylonians scryed by means of an oil lamp. The lamp itself was in fact a stone shaped as a low open dish with a strip of white linen coiled in the oil that had an end hanging over the end of the dish.

The Egyptians used clear Oasis oil which was a kind of palm oil. The clearer the oil the better.
The Egyptians used a lamp that was red in colour which is the colour of the God Set. Set is in fact the God of evil.

It may be advisable for you to use a white lamp. Place your lamp on a table and sit on the west side facing east across the lamp.

You should address your invocation to the Greco Roman God who rules the day you scy on.
Sunday : Sun.
Monday : Moon.
Tuesday : Mars.
Wednesday : Mercury.
Thursday : Jupiter.
Friday : Venus.
Saturday : Saturn.
Using the name of the God of the day you should chant a suitable invocation doing so directly into the flame. This invocation should be chanted in a soft voice and done so several times.

Gently focus on the flames of the lamp. You will begin to see moving shadows off to the side.
Do not look directly at the shadows or they will vanish. Ask the shadows what it is you seek.
You may hear voices or you may see images.
