Daily Motivator for August 15 – Get moving forward

Get moving forward

Learn from the past, treasure the past, but don’t let it hold you captive.  This is a new day, a new moment, and your opportunity to proceed in precisely  the direction you choose.

Just because you’ve had a negative experience doesn’t mean you must maintain  a negative attitude. Just because things have not been going your way is no  reason to stop going.

Right now is when you can turn life around. Right now is when you have the  power to choose your attitude, your actions, and the outcomes you create.

The most important part of your life begins right now. Because this is the  part you can do something about.

Time moves forward, so get up, get going, get positive and purposeful and get  moving forward with it. Now is when you can have a positive and meaningful  influence, so make the most of this opportunity.

Whether yesterday was fulfilling or depressing, get over it. Get on with  living the way you choose, according to your highest values, with this day you  now have.

Lighten Up – Murphy’s Other Laws

Murphy’s Other Laws

1. Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

2. A fine is a tax for doing wrong. A tax is a fine for doing well.

3. He who laughs last, thinks slowest.

4. A day without sunshine is like, well, night.

5. Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.

6. Those who live by the sword, get shot by those who don’t.

7. Nothing is foolproof, to a sufficiently talented fool.

8. The 50-50-90 rule: Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there’s a 90% probability you’ll get it wrong.

9. It is said that if you line up all the cars in the world end-to-end, someone would be stupid enough to try to pass them.

12. Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he
will sit in a boat all day drinking beer.

Today’s Runes for August 14 is Man

Today’s Runes

Gold Runes are most commonly used for questions about business, career, and property. Man represents Mankind. This rune evokes the image that although we must make much of our way in the world on our own, there is nevertheless an entire populous that shares similar experiences. Thus, this rune represents the relationship of the self with the whole – working together we can produce great results. Additionally, Man speaks to intellect and culture that separate us from the animals.

Good Saturday Afternoon, my luvs! Today Is Shot To….

Good Saturday Afternoon, my luvs! I hope you are having a fantastic day. Me? Ha! Since the day is shot to hell, I will tell you about it (lucky dog, you, lol!). We have had a prowler around the house for some time now. It has just been getting worse and worse. The past week the prowler has been coming right up to the bedroom window. Thursday night, I was asleep and Kiki was standing on my side, snarling, growling and foaming at the mouth. Now imagine a Pomeranian foaming at the mouth 😦 . Hubby got the gun and went outside. He saw someone running out in the field. So last night, I said the hell with it. I closed the glass window and the storm also. Well about 2:30 a.m., this morning all hell broke loose. Kiki went crazy, barking, growling and all over me. Then a huge rock came through one of our bedroom windows. Instead of screaming, I waded through the glass and pointed a shotgun out the window. The prowler wasn’t too quick or else he expected me to be screaming my lungs out. Anyway, he was were I could get good aim on him and I told him to hit the ground or else I was going to put him there. By this time hubby was out the door and had a rifle on him. He had also called 911. Sheriff and a couple of deputies came out. They said they had been having a problem with a prowler out in this area. Bet they don’t no more, lol! After they left, I stayed up picking the glass out of my feet. I really didn’t have that much to pick out. Thank goodness. Because of the animals, I shut the door and we all went and slept in a different bedroom.

Well being in a different bedroom, the sun sure did come up early this morning. I had Kiki curled up on a pillow beside me. Stinker was keeping my feet warm. Razzy was bringing me sheets of paper. Yeah, paper! She caught me cleaning out my purse and putting receipts in a pile to throw away. Razzy got to playing in the receipts and I made her a paper ball. Well ever since then, she wants paper balls made out of every piece of paper she sees. After going to bed at 5:00 a.m., I was up at 6:30 a.m., making paper balls.

I got up made about 4 paper balls, put some coffee on and cleaned the house up. Then when I sit down to do the blog, Kiki got sick. She stays on the bed most of the time. I felt this little paw tap me on my elbow. Before I could catch her, she was in my lap. She was shaking like the devil. I just dropped everything it scared me to death. Come to find out after about an hour, I found out it was her anal glands. We went to the bathroom and I cleaned out her anal glands and her rump. What a lovely job, NOT! After that everything was fine. I gave her some doggy treats and she laid down in her bed and went to sleep. I am pissed off. We went to the vet about a week ago. They supposedly checked her anal glands and they were “so” empty! Right, her poor little old glands were full. I am going to call the vet Monday and tell him exactly why I am changing vets!

While I am at it, I had a talk with Anastasia about the post she made. I kindly explained to her that I did not appreciate it at all. She was not to talk to our followers and friends like that. Ya’ll deserve much more respect that. It was a person’s freewill to come and go as they wished. And it was none of her business why anyone left. I told her to stick to writing what she was suppose to and never make a post like that again. I got one comment that interested me. The comment suggested I go check out another community to see what they were doing. I loved the community but WordPress’ format is not set up like that. Someone has specially designed that format for them. There is no way, you could have ten different groups under this main one. First the storage would be a huge issue. Next, WordPress just wouldn’t allow it. So if I wanted to do something like that, I would have to change host’s and move everything again. I appreciate the comment and I love the site you recommended. But unfortunately, it just won’t work here. Anastasia doesn’t understand that the WOTC has always been a library for Witchcraft. We provide the most current, accurate information that we can find for the new comer to the Craft or the Seasoned Practitioner. We have always operated this way and it seems to have worked for us. I figure right now school is starting back and life is hectic for everyone. When Winter sits in, everything would be back to normal. Like the rest of us, she needs to learn patience, lol! Which ain’t easy at times!

Well, I hope you have a great weekend. I am going to put a little info on. Then tomorrow, I will get back to normal. What’s normal :s.

Have a good one,

Lady A

Today’s Runes for August 9th is Fehu

Jade Runes are most commonly used for questions about love, friendship, and relationships. Fehu represents cattle the Norse symbol of wealth. This rune has some interesting implications based on the fact that cattle, unlike land, move about of their own accord. Cattle also reproduce, so this rune often speaks of wealth that renews or perpetuates itself. Wealth takes many forms, but this rune generally represents the value that is purely material or monetary in nature. Alternatively, this rune is deeply associated with Frey, and hence can be the harbinger of fertility and children.

August 7 – Daily Feast

August 7 – Daily Feast

The path through the woods has a light layer of scarlet leaves that have fallen early from the woodbine. Crickets are chirping the coming of a new season – and the sassy blue jay, tla yv ga, agrees. Touching the earth is a lovely feeling that once again we find our beginnings. Whether we walk of plant or plow, it is a place created for us, a place to stand with bare feet to feel comfort spread quietly through us. The pulse of the earth slows our own and tranquilizes confusion. Seeing the ga lv lo I, sky, in its limitless depths stirs us to imagine, to stretch our awareness to know how much beauty is provided for us. It helps us to see that mean things can only last as long as we allow them. Nothing can hem us in when we know the freedom of spirit.

‘A Cherokee Feast of Days’, by Joyce Sequichie Hifler

Furze/Gorse Tree (Aprox. March 20)

FURZE/GORSE LORE

  • Tree of the Spring Equinox (Aprox. March 20)
  • Latin name: ulex europaeus
  • Celtic name: ‘O’ – Onn
  • Folk or Common names: Broom, Frey, Furze, Fyrs, Gorst, Goss, Prickly Broom, Ruffet, and Whin.
  • Parts Used: Flowers
  • Herbal usage: A decoction made with the flowers thereof hath been found effectual against the jaundice, as also to provoke urine, and cleanse the kidneys  from gravel or stone ingendered in them. In parts of the UK, it was once cultivated and cut down to provide burnable fuel for bakers’ ovens. The ashes  left after it has been set on fire yield a generous amount of alkali and have been used as a type of primitive soap for washing purposes after first being  mixed with clay and rolled into balls. The golden flowers yield an excellent natural yellow dye.
  • Magical History & Associations: Furze is a thorny shrub with bright yellow flowers that is associated with the Spring Equinox. This herb is a symbol  of the young sun at the spring equinox and royalty. Furze is associated with the astrological sign of Aries, the planet of Mars, the element of Fire, and is  a masculine herb. Furze is associated with Jupiter, Thor, Onn, and also with the Gallic ash-grove Goddess On-niona. The color for Furze is dun, and its bird  is the cormorant.
  • Magickal usage: Furze is a druid Sacred tree, whose flowers are associated with the Spring Equinox. Furze is a symbol of fertility and has the magickal  uses of Protection and Money. Furze is a good herb to use as a proctectant against evil. In Wales hedges of the prickly Gorse are used to protect the home  against dark fairies, who cannot penetrate the hedge. Furze wood and blooms can be burned for protection and also for preparation for conflict of any sort.  There are two school of thought about giving Furze flowers as a gift. On one had the gift is supposed to be good luck, but on the other hand if you give them  to someone that you love it means: Anger. There is an old rhyme about Furze that refers to its all-year-round flowering habits:”When Gorse is out of bloom,         Kissing is out of season.”

Furze is also used in money spells; it attracts gold.

Working By The Sun

Working By The Sun

As the alter ego of the moon, the sun offers a significant source of energy for natural magick, and solar energies often offer power for more instant magickal results.

Dawn is best for new opportunities, beginnings and people entering your life;  noon for a burst of instant power, energy, success and prosperity. Dusk is for reconciliation or letting go. Midnight assists healing magick, psychic protection and in accepting what cannot be changed.

You can combine lunar and solar energies for a quick solar fix and the slower continuous lunar consolidation of the initial solar results in your life. Noon spells on the day of the full moon will get things off the starting block and keep up the impetus through the month. Often the moon and sun are in the sky at the same time (check your moon diary or weather section of the newspaper, or just look) and combine the energies accordingly.

Daily OM for August 4 – Translating Our Feelings

Translating Our Feelings

Are You Excited or Scared?

by Madisyn Taylor

Sometimes the feelings of being scared and excited can elicit the same physical response in our bodies.

When new challenges and opportunities show up in our lives, we may diagnose ourselves as feeling scared when what we really feel is excited. Often we have not been taught how to welcome the thrill of a new opportunity, and so we opt to back off, indulging our anxiety instead of awakening our courage. One way to inspire ourselves to embrace the opportunities that come our way is to look more deeply into our feelings and see that butterflies in our stomach or a rapidly beating heart are not necessarily a sign that we are afraid. Those very same feelings can be translated as excitement, curiosity, passion, and even love.

There is nothing wrong with being afraid as long as we do not let it stop us from doing the things that excite us. Most of us assume that brave people are fearless, but the truth is that they are simply more comfortable with fear because they face it on a regular basis. The more we do this, the more we feel excitement in the face of challenges rather than anxiety. The more we cultivate our ability to move forward instead of backing off, the more we trust ourselves to be able to handle the new opportunity, whether it’s a new job, an exciting move, or a relationship. When we feel our fear, we can remind ourselves that maybe we are actually just excited. We can assure ourselves that this opportunity has come our way because we are meant to take it.

Framing things just a little differently can dramatically shift our mental state from one of resistance to one of openness. We can practice this new way of seeing things by saying aloud: I am really excited about this job interview. I am really looking forward to going on a date with this amazing person. I am excited to have the opportunity to do something I have never done before. As we do this, we will feel our energy shift from fear, which paralyzes, to excitement, which empowers us to direct all that energy in the service of moving forward, growing, and learning.

Protection Against Malicious Uses Of Magick

Protection Against Malicious Uses Of Magick

This is meant as a temporary aid to those in need.

Description:

This is a non-invasive spell of protection, which you can cast around anyone without bringing harm to them or effecting them directly in anyway. A courtesy and moral imperative is to inform the person you are going to offer protection and seek their approval. If they are uncomfortable with it in any way then do not do it. Because doing it against their will may cause psychological issues and paranoia and defeat the purpose of it altogether.

This spell creates a spherical field around the recipient, composed of energy in the blue to purple spectrum. The prevalent texture to this field is one of thorns and thistles. The thorns and thistles act as a filtering mechanism used to pick off aggressive energies directed toward the recipient.

Duration:

This spell will last until the moon reaches the corresponding phase in which the spell was cast. It feeds off of the aggressive negative energy that it encounters so it will last past the particular moon phase if it is still being fed. The will of the recipient can additionally dissipate the field at anytime should the need arise.

Comments:

It is important to note that this field feeds off negative energy but maybe enforced by the recipient by merely focusing any negative feelings or vibes they might have at the field itself. It is totally a defensive spell so it does not attack anyone. It is a form of relief in that aspect and helps to restore harmony from the turmoil caused by such attacks. So though negative energy is involved it is used in a way to restore harmonic balance.

It is also important to realize that this field only protects you from aggressive attacks, passive negative energy will get by so there is no fear of loosing your balance and going into some manic state.

Lastly this is not a spell cast on any individual, it is cast about them, it is the receiptients responsibility to acknowledge it’s existance or it will not work.

Components:

Typical circle components. Red Rose Thorn. Natural Hemp. Thistle from brush. Cauldron. Tea Light. Substitute a Censer for the Cauldron and Tea Light if necessary.

Preparation:

Cast your circle and light your candles. Place the Tea Light in the Cauldron and light it as well.

Chant:

With these thistles, thorns and hemp I construct
A field about (recipient’s name) that will not destruct.

With bindings from (specific emotion of your choice) I do adhere
these components to my need.

Thistles please take your place and bring the strands of magick in place.
(place the thistle in the tea light or censer to burn).
Thorns please take your place and bring the strands of magick in place.
(place the thorn in the tea light or censer to burn).
Hemp I ask of the to perform the magick of binding my field to form.
(place the hemp in the tea light or censer to burn).

With your mighty Thistles and Thorns you will feed
on the harm directed towards the one in need.

If no harm is evident by the full cycle of this moon
Dissipate on that day
Or by the following quarter moon.

If (recipient’s name) feels the need
Then you must obey and dissipate indeed.

End your circle.

Spell to Break a Love Spell

Spell to Break a Love Spell

With Ritual – You will need a picture of both parties together or you can write their names on a piece of paper. You will also need a cauldron, which must be fireproof. Holding the photo or paper state:
“I wish to sever the unnatural ties between these two,
they were brought together by magic, and that shouldn’t be
Now I seek to right the wrong, break the bonds and set them free.
I ask the God and Goddess to break the bonds between (names).
(Cut paper) As I cut their tie let the bond between them be broken.
(Burn halves in cauldron) As I burn the tie let the bond be forever severed.
So Mote it be!

At last, bury or scatter the ashes.

Protect Yourself from Rumors

Protect Yourself from Rumors

In complete darkness and privacy, light a pink candle and hold it in your hands. Take a deep breath and stand as tall as you can. Facing east, raise the candle high above your head for a moment. Bring the candle down to eye level and hold it there while you slowly turn in a clockwise direction 3 times, concentrating on the blue part of the flame. Raising the candle high again, invoke the powers of nature by whispering:

“I bind myself this day,
The swiftness of the wind,
The power of the sea,
The strength of the fire,
The endurance of the earth.”

As you stand still for a moment, imagine a white light surrounding your body like a cocoon. Then take another deep breath and blow out the candle. This spell erects a barrier around you so no ill will affect your well-being. Never again will you feel hurt or depressed by people spreading gossip about you.

Working by the Tides

Working by the Tides

The tides are another power source if you are anywhere near the sea, an estuary of a tidal river.  The incoming tide or flow will attract and bring fulfillment of wishes or dreams; the ebb tide will take away negativity and also protect those who travel,  especially those who work at sea. The slack tide between flow and ebb, which can last for up to an hour, is excellent for building up power before the surge  and moment of release at tide turn.

It’s Friday, My Friends! The Weekend Is Almost Here, Yahoo!

 The Weekend

Another week of work is done,
And I am, oh, so tired,
I really need to rest my weary bones.
I leave the job at half past five,
I can’t wait for the weekend,
But there’s more work to do when I get home.

There’s lawns to cut and trash to dump,
There’s painting and there’s fixing,
There’s bills to pay and shopping at some store.
And when I think that all is done,
And I can finally rest,
I’m sure that I will find there’s plenty more.

Now I can’t wait ’til Monday morn,
When I go back to work,
To start the day with coffee with my friends,
Then work until it seems as if
The week goes on forever,

And once again I’m waiting for it to end.

‘THINK on THESE THINGS’ for August 2

‘THINK on THESE THINGS’
By Joyce Sequichie Hifler

Prisoners never love their jails. And the same holds true for all kinds of prisoners, whether they be dogs on leashes or human beings tied to responsibilities. If they are there of their own free will and because they have a sense of belonging, the connecting link is made of love.

Responsible people with an assignment, and the feeling that it is theirs alone, will do it to the best of their ability and see it through. But is they must be watched and directed in every step, then it is a jail and the first thought is how to get out.

Freedom to be an individual with the right to make even small decisions is a precious possession. Freedom to come and go can build faith and trust within people, to make them stick closer than brothers. The rigid rules and constant prodding of a free spirit will force them to find that freedom.

We simply cannot keep another in bondage without being in bondage ourselves. To hold humanity by invisible force is to keep constant watch. And even beneath that watchful eye there will be a continual search for escape.

Anyone completely dependent upon others must always bear their will-O-the-wisp attitudes and the rising and lowering of the emotional tides. However, it is presumptuous of anyone to believe they can possibly be completely independent of others. Without other people, we cannot exist.

But to believe we are doing our best for anyone except ourselves is to build on sand. Of course others inspire us. They give us reasons to be better. They give us the benefit of their experience, but we seldom learn from that. We demand experience of our own. So consequently, we err and make it right. We mar and erase. And sometimes we try and fail, but always it is up to us to decide whether we do better or worse.

We can despair easily of allowed to become completely and utterly dependent upon others. They are human and they make mistakes. But we must know some measure of forgiveness the same as we must know some independence, if only in the spirit. And if the spirit is free, then all else shall be too.

August 2 – Daily Feast

August 2 – Daily Feast

It is not easy to forget the hours we spent as children along some sparkling stream – and there were more sparkling streams then. It is not hard to remember every sound that carried up the creek, how the fishing was, and how it tasted fresh from the water and cooked in an old tin skillet over an open fire. There were a nv s tsigi, violet flowers, blooming in clusters along the banks – and poison ivy we had to avoid – and didn’t always. A cardinal sang a fishing song and the sound of oars dipped in warm water with a soft splish-splash. Bugs, like people on water-skis, slipped over the surface of water. And as we passed, tsisdvna, crawfish backed into holes in the mud. Every moment was a thing of joy and knocks softly on our minds today when the need for solitude is there.

~ What is life? It is the flash of a firefly in the night….the breath of a buffalo in the winter time….a little shadow which runs across the grass and loses itself in the sunset. ~
