Pets in Ritual: Some Basics

Pets in Ritual: Some Basics

Author: Bronwen Forbes

For the purpose of this article, I’m going to assume that you want your pet in ritual with you, and not that he or she has wandered in by accident. That being the case, here are some things you need to consider and plan for.

If you normally cast a circle as part of your magickal workings, and if you have issues with pets casually crossing that magical barrier, you need to figure out in advance how to keep your furry friend from leaving once you’ve started. A dog can be leashed and kept in your circle. So, in some instances, can a ferret, a rabbit, or an iguana. But a cat isn’t likely to take too kindly to a harness or collar and a leash. And if your cat is anything like mine, he will yowl like he’s dying if you put him in a carrier.

What are you going to do? Frankly, you’ve got two choices: either resign yourself to the idea that a cat is going to cross the energy barrier you’ve erected but not affect it, or shut your cat away so he or she can’t participate.

Our cat likes to patrol the perimeter of the circle, but he never comes near the altar. Maybe he’s keeping an eye out for unwelcome entities. I really don’t know. His predecessor used to lie in the center of ritual space with the attitude, “You may all now commence adoring me.”

By the way, if you plan to have your dog in ritual, it’s a good idea to let him or her go outside and do his business beforehand. Nothing interrupts a good ritual like one of the participants barking because he needs to potty!

Something else to consider on this same topic: for obvious reasons, small puppies aren’t the best participants in long rituals, say, longer than thirty minutes. For lengthy sabbats or esbats, take your puppy out beforehand, and then crate him or her (or whatever you do at night) during the ritual. Post-ritual pee and poop cleanups when you’re trying to dismantle the altar and get the ritual feast ready just aren’t fun.

Speaking of altars, if you like to have an altar or shrine set up at all times, you might want to consider setting it up where an inquisitive cat or teething puppy can’t get to it. Cats love to knock things off altars. Puppies like to chew things – and they don’t care if it’s your $70 wand, your favorite Buddha statue (true story) , or a chew toy.

When I first started doing ritual, my cat at the time loved nothing better than to yukk up a hairball on my altar. Needless to say, a hairball was so not the kind of offering I wanted to make to my Gods! If your pets are doing your altar more harm than good, consider moving it to a pet-free room or large closet with a firmly latching door, or to a wall shelf strategically placed where Kitty can’t comfortably jump to.

If you frequently invite newcomers, especially people who are new to Paganism, to your ritual, you may notice that your pet chooses to sit on or next to that person while you all ground and center. This frequently happens in my group, and the newcomer always reports that the pet’s presence helped them feel less nervous, and they were better able to follow the grounding and centering meditation.

Another note about newcomers to your ritual: inform them at the time of invitation that you have pets, and what kind. That way, if they have serious allergies or major phobias, they know ahead of time and can choose for themselves how they want to deal with it, i.e. take antihistamines or not accept the invite.

We share our home with a shaggy, extra large old-fashioned German shepherd, and we always warn people that there’s a HUGE, LONG-HAIRED dog in the house! Karl is a complete goofball who wouldn’t hurt a soul (and in fact, is totally, utterly, and completely devoted to our four-year-old) , but he sheds constantly and weighs approximately 120 pounds. That way, people who don’t think dog hair counts as a condiment (despite the fact that we regularly dust and vacuum) or who might be too scared to concentrate on ritual with a humongous wolf-looking creature in the house can choose in advance not to come.

For safety’s sake, consider making some adjustments to the placement of Cakes and Wine during your ritual. Most of us are used to setting the cakes and drink on the altar – or under it, if the altar is too small. Let me tell you: with pets actively participating in ritual, that doesn’t work! Remember that alcohol, grapes (including grape juice) , raisins, any sort citrus fruit or juice, and chocolate are extremely toxic to cats and dogs.

Besides, do you really want to drink out of a chalice after your toilet-drinking, butt-sniffing dog had a sip? Or eat a cookie she’s licked? I didn’t think so! Put the stuff somewhere your furry friend can’t reach, like a nearby bookshelf or table. That way, all the humans can partake without grossing out – or poisoning the pet.

Maybe you could also have some water and dog and cat treats for your furry participants to enjoy during Cakes and Wine! I have heard that people who invite their ferrets or rabbits into ritual provide a small plate with a couple of raisins or lettuce on it.

With a little pre-planning, adult pets and carefully supervised kittens and puppies can be delightful, useful, and meaningful participants in your rituals. But always leave yourself the option of letting them out – and keeping them out – if they get too rowdy or otherwise disruptive.

Our ritual room is also where we keep our dogs’ crates, and for the most part they’re voluntarily hanging out in their crates (with the doors open) when we do ritual. We know the ritual is a success if the dogs are snoring!

Gemstone of the Day for November 17th is Aragonite

Aragonite

Named after the Spanish village, Molina de Aragon, were it was first identified, aragonite has the same chemical composition as calcite, but with a different crystal structure that makes it harder and heavier. This striking crystal conjures up all manner of associations: a futuristic alien space city;an intrusion from an alternate reality; or the pristine expansion of order into space. Its ability to hold the imaginative mind in a form of creative trance makes aragonite a useful crystal for lateral thinking.

Identification and Care

  • Crystals form long intergrown six-sided prisms around a common centre. These clusters are called “sputniks.”
  • Tumbled stones often resemble solidified honey.
  • Varieties of aragonite include iron flower, a fine dendritic aggregate; peastone, a mass of pea-sized lumps in a matrix; and sprudelstein, which has different coloured bands like agate.

Magick

  • Pulls disparate elements together
  • Provides a safe base from which to explore new possibilities.

Choosing Your Fire Dish

Choosing Your Fire Dish

I have seen beautiful copper fire dishes on metal legs for sale in garden centers which are not expensive and need no adaptation.

Alternatively, you can use any large fireproof metal dish either with metal legs or raised off the ground on heat-resistant bricks to avoid scorching. This can be very large cast iron wok or the bottom half of a domed iron barbecue, again the kind with legs.

A chimenea is also a good alternative and these are widely obtainable, as is the less exotic incinerator base.

Dog-Gone Doggie of the Day for November 15th

Chocolat, the Dog of the Day
Name: Chocolat
Age: Two years old
Gender: Female Breed: Chocolate Labrador Retriever
Home: Auckland, New Zealand
We adopted Chocolat in April 2010, sometime before her first birthday. We had decided it was about time to welcome a new dog into the family, so we went down to the SPCA. She was my first choice of course, just the way she looked at me I knew there was something special about her. The volunteers at the SPCA had said she had been found as a stray. They found her wandering the streets in Auckland alone and she had looked starved. She had a bump above her eye and an injured paw (which they helped), so they assumed her previous owners had been abusing her. She was extremely shy and cautious about everybody, but she eventually overcame it once she realized we weren’t going to hurt her. They told me that she was looking for a new home, so of course I said yes and she came home with me. I’m not sure of her exact birthday, but the vet estimated she was about Eleven months old when I got her, going on a year. So I assumed her birthday to be in May, and made it May 19. She is not as cautious around people anymore, but she puts her head down whenever you put your hand or something near her face sometimes.

Chocolat is now two years old and living in the suburbs of Auckland with me. She is a very fun-loving girl who loves playing in the waves, fetching, carrying her rugby balls around with her, trying to carry logs, giving kisses, long walks on the shore and long rambles with her favorite humans! She has many dog and human friends that she loves seeing whenever she goes on walks. She sniffs everything, all the plants, flowers and even the sand, though it gets all over her nose. She gets very excited when I walk towards where we keep her treats because she always thinks she will get one! Though sometimes she shakes me down with the sweet puppy-dog face. Also when I’m baking something I always have an audience staring at me saying, “Please feed me.” She really loves her food. Her favorite homemade treats are Peanut Butter Biscuits. She is also very smart and knows over 30 commands! She knows all the basics and some more advance ones. Her best trick is “Balance” where she balances treats and cookies on her nose or head until I tell her she can eat them. During walks at the park or on the beach, I can always let her off-leash. She is trained to not run away and I taught her to always go back home, since she knows the way there by heart.

Chocolat is my proof that rescues can be the sweetest. Rescuing is a very selfless and noble deed to help those animals that desperately need a loving home, and a new start at life. When animals have been thrown out on the street and abandoned, they always want a loving family to give them a new start and a new, permanent place to call home. So me and Chocolat would like to tell anybody considering welcoming a new family member, whether it be a Cat, Dog or any animal; Please consider adopting before going out and buying from a breeder. If you do rescue, it can be one of the best choices you’ll ever make.

Daily OM for November 15th – Your Comfort Zone

Your Comfort Zone
Create a Soft Place to Land

Create a soft place to land in your home a refuge from the stress of the day.

Our day-to-day demands can quickly take their toll on our well-being if we are not vigilant about caring for ourselves as best we can. One way we can ensure that we have an opportunity to relax and recuperate each day is to create a soft place to land when we arrive home. This landing pad, whether it is an entire room or merely a small corner of a larger area, can provide us with a safe and comforting refuge in which we can decompress and recover from the day’s stresses. There, we are enveloped in feelings of security that transcend other issues that may be unfolding in our homes. Our landing pads also act as way stations that enable us to shift our attention away from our outer-world concerns and back to our inner-world needs.

To create a soft place to land in your home, begin by scouting potential locations. Or perhaps your entire home is your landing pad in which case you may only need to declutter. Your habits can often provide you with insight into the perfect spot, as there may be an area of your home you gravitate to naturally when you are in need of comfort. Any space in which you find it easy to let go of stress and anxiety can become your landing pad. A basement or attic, spare room, or unused storage area, furnished with items that soothe you, can give you the privacy you need to unwind. If you appreciate the elements, you may find that spending time in a section of your garden or outdoor patio helps you release the day’s tensions. Preparing these spaces can be as easy as replacing clutter with a small selection of beautiful objects that put you in a relaxed frame of mind. Remember to consider noise and activity levels while choosing the site of your landing pad. If you know that ordinary human commotion will distract you from your purpose, look for a secluded spot.

The soft place to land that you create should inspire within you the mantra, “I can breath here. I can relax here. I know I am safe here.” When you return to your home after braving worldly rigors, you will feel a subtle yet tranquil shift occur inside of you as you settle in to this most personal of retreats and feel centered once again.

3 NIGHTS OF HELL CANDLE SPELL

3 NIGHTS OF HELL CANDLE SPELL

This spell will inflict serious pain and sores on thine enemy for a period of 3 strange days.
After which the spell is lifted he is made well again.
Take a black candle and place a picture of thine enemy in front of you and tilt
the candle so the wax drips upon the would be victim in the picture.
Visualize the wax burning sores into the body of thine enemy.
While doing so, recite the following 3 times
“As I do this candle spell
Bring thine enemy 3 nights of hell
Candle black, black as night
Bring him pains of flesh tonight!
lesions on his skin will grow
Afflict him with a painful blow
Sores and pain afflict him now
for 3 nights he’ll wonder how
Dukes of darkness, Kings of hell
Smite thine enemy, bring him hell
when 3 nights of pain have past
Make him well, well at last”.
After sitting and thinking about the sores that will inflict your enemy and the
pain he will suffer you may then extinguish the candle. When 3 nights have
past tear up the photo and say the following.
“When 3 nights of pain endured,
I lift this curse rest assured
Darkness leave him, go away,
the curse is lifted now, today!”

The Second Rule of White Magick: What is sent out comes back threefold

The Second Rule of Magick:

What You Send Out Comes Back Threefold

This is a great incentive to do magick to help others and for the environment.

If you use magick to send healing, love or abundance to other people, the same qualities will come into your own life unexpectedly in ways you need them, with three times the intensity.

Equally, if you send out negative thoughts or wishes in a spell to a nasty gossiping neighbor, you may well succeed in making the target of your spells unhappy. But this may make her gossip even more. What is more, similar unhappiness or nastiness will come back into your own life three times as powerfully–even if the person you are sending bad thought to deserves them. Bitterness and anger are natural emotions, best shared with a loving friend or relative or relieved by an hour digging the garden and not amplified in a magickal way to pollute the cosmos.

You know yourself that if you wake in a happy mood, you smile and everyone responds positively to you because your energy field is radiating happiness and so attracting it back. Think of the cosmos as a giant aura or energy field and do your share of Mary-Poppins-style magick.

The First Rule of White Magick: Do as you choose/harm no one

The First Rule of Magick:

You are free to do as you choose as long as you harm no one.

This rule sounds deceptively simple to keep. However, scientifically it has been shown that a butterfly fluttering its wings subtly alters the energies of the universe. Therefore any decision, act or spell must affect others. We should never use magick to interfere with the free will of others, though there are binding spells that can restrict the effects of a person’s negative behavior.

Of course in order to survive emotionally and sometimes to survive at all, you cannot always avoid hurting others in everyday life or in magick. So magick does involve a lot of careful thought and evaluation and usually relates to what is happening in our everyday lives.

Supposing you needed more money each month to pay the bills, You know a senior colleague at work is holding a comfortable, well-paid position under false pretences. She is leaving you to do her work and taking the credit. However justifiable your resentment you should not do a spell to get her fired. If you were subsequently offered her job you would never be happy in it because you got it by negative magick. You could instead do spells to raise your own positive profile at work so you do get offered promotions and also to take earthly steps to limit your colleague’s plagiarism. You could in addition, cast spells so that you would find a better-paid job where you were appreciated. Usually such free-loaders are noticed by higher management and may get moved on naturally.

Binding Magick

Binding Magick

Binding magick is sometimes considered a difficult area for white witches because of the issues of the infringement of freewill. It is an area where careful and honest heart searching is needed to be sure your magick is for the highest cause and with the purest intent.

Some binding magick is straightforward. If you were going on a long journey, you could bind a small child to you temporarily so that he or she would not get lost or wander off, as the child is not old enough to take responsibility for him or herself.

But what if you know a drug dealer is peddling in a place your teenager insists on visiting in spite of your warnings. Can you morally bind the drug pusher from harming your child without overriding their freewill or that of your teenager? Some witches would argue the drug pusher is potentially threatening a lot of teenagers and not just your own and so could not be left to spread his poison.

It is possible with care to carry out positive and protective spells to bind such adverse behavior, so that the drug peddler is not able to approach your child with the intent of doing harm.

You could bind your teenager, who after all is still young and vulnerable, from buying substances that will cause harm. You could add an attracting spell for your teenager to find some new friends who spend their time in less dangerous settings and also to strengthen your teenager’s natural moral standards.

Binding spells often involve the use of images or figures, such as dolls or ones made from beeswax or clay that you bind up with ribbons or cords (of course you do not harm the image). You would then gently wrap the figure in soft cloth and put it in a safe place until the specified time for the binding spell is through.

If there is not a set time, binding spells generally have to be recast monthly with new figures. The old doll should be returned to its element: to the earth if made of an earth substance: clay or wax should be rolled into a ball.

Since the drug pusher and teenager need to kept apart you could put the drug pusher figure with blessings into the freezer compartment and wrap your child’s image in a drawer. You could also, if you felt it morally right, create another figure to represent other unspecified teenagers in danger and wrap that separately but safely with your child’s figure well away from the drug pusher doll.

Attracting or Sympathetic Magick

Attracting or Sympathetic Magick

Attracting magick is sometimes called Sympathetic Magick because a focus is used to represent a person or need and then magickal actions are carried out upon that focus to endow it with the necessary power. The accumulated power will then be transferred in the release of energy at the climax of the spell into the actual person or need represented by the symbol.

In natural magick it is more effective to choose or make a symbol of a natural material or something which is living: flowers for love, a small wooden toy house for a home move, a feather for travel, seeds for the growth of a venture or prosperity and nuts for fertility.

Alternatively you can make wax symbols or figures by softening pieces of beeswax or a child’s modeling clay, for example a small baby in a cradle if you wish to conceive a child. You are not creating the much-feared wax images in which pins were stuck. In fact, most wax dolls with pins displayed in museums were actually used as an early westernized form of acupuncture or the ends of the pins were tipped with a healing oil (to symbolize healing entering the person). After the spell has run its course, you can roll the wax back into a ball and bury it with the words: “Return to your own element, with thanks.”

Equally every herb and crystal has magickal meanings and so can be a focus for a spell. A green aventurine crystal will when empowered in a spell bring you good luck and money, especially in matters of speculation.

Some spells are best repeated over several nights to build up the attracting powers. If you wanted a new love relationship to develop (with the proviso that it is right to be, the cosmic opt-out clause) you might move two beeswax candles, one pink and one green, closer to each of the three nights before the full moon for increasing energies. Finally, you would join the flames together on the fourth night of full moon power.

Contagious magick is very similar but involves using something personal that the person has used or walked over. For example, as Eastern European marriage spell involves a woman scooping up the earth in which a lover’s footsteps is imprinted and planting marigolds, a love and marriage flower, in the soil. As the flower grow, so it is said will the love, leading to marriage. Presumably in modern times there could be a role reversed.

Cleansing Second Hand Furniture and Jewelry

Cleansing Second Hand Furniture and Jewelry

Author: Nita

People today are buying more used items. Antiques have always been loved by others who have the money to purchase and add them to their home. No one who purchases used clothes, furniture, jewelry and other objects thinks about the energies around the object. Estate sales can cause the ghost to follow a beloved object. Pawn shops and second hand stores have beautiful jewelry but you may pick up the grief associated with having to sell a beloved object.

Jewelry can be a real problem as even gifts can carry negative energies. I always tell everyone that it does not matter if I cleaned the jewelry before I gave it to him or her. They should cleanse every object that is second hand. It is the only way to keep negative energies out of your space.

Jewelry can be cleansed by soaking the jewelry in water and a little bit of salt. The water and salt is prayed over so the divine blesses the jewelry and cleanses it. It should be placed where the sun and the moon can purify the jewelry with their rays of energy.

Jewelry can be buried so the earth absorbs the negativity that is left in the jewelry. I suggest doing it in a pot so the jewelry can be found easily. Prayer again is used to help the blessed energies of the elements to clear the energies. Occasionally there are objects that cannot seem to be cleansed. If you have an object where the energies will not clear up and it is jewelry never wear it.

Antique vases, bowls, and other objects that have negativity can have salt placed in them where it will not harm them. The salt will absorb the negative energies, as it is sacred earth. Furniture is a little more difficult. I suggest a mixture of water and Chinese Floor Wash. There are many voodoo washes for the floor. They all have different purposes but all of them can be used as a cleansing mixture. Herb teas of protective herbs can also be used for cleansing. A weak solution should be used so it does not stain or discolor the furniture or items to be cleansed.

The cleansing should be done with prayers being said no matter what is used. Prayer energizes and removes negative energies. Spray bottles can be used to spray the objects before they are brought into the house. It means that the furniture does not carry the vibrations of its former owners. I have seen people buy a couch in a yard sale. The couple was splitting up due to arguments. The couple who bought the couch had arguments until they cleaned up the energies of the couch.

The same is true for Jewelry or any other object given as a gift. Gifts can sometimes be the same way especially if the person who gives it to another is envious, jealous, or gives it away because of bad memories. Always cleanse gifts even if they are brand new when you have someone give them to you.

I have a friend who accepted a gift from another person. The person was a High Priestess and should have told the beginner to cleanse the object. She did not and the person who received the gift asked me to see why she felt so bad when she wore it. The person had worn the ring when she was under psychic attack. It was in a shop that had been broken up by arguments and jealousy. The ring could not be cleansed.

I also had a friend that bought two beautiful jade vases from Tibet. I saw the vases and the energies were black. I asked her where she bought them and she said in an estate auction. The vases were beautiful but needed to have salt put on the inside. I would be amazed if the person did not buy them after the problems in Tibet and the original owners had died defending their home.

These are just examples but it is still a serious subject. Our homes and places we work all have energies in them. The correct energies can make everything go well so everywhere we exist is a place of happiness and abundance. The wrong energies affect everyone. Every object can absorb energies so cleansing them is a good thing to do to help yourself and the people you are around.

Herbs that are good for cleansing objects are rosemary, marjoram, thyme, dill, basil, and lavender. All of these may be made into a tea. Crystals that clear objects of negative energies are Selenite, Blue Kyanite, Citrine, and Black Tourmaline. All of these crystals absorb energies. Certain Flower essences are good for purifying the energies of objects. The list of things that can be used to cleanse energies can be endless.

All prayers should mention or have the person saying the prayers focused on cleansing and blessing the object and everywhere it is present. Every religion or practice has prayers that will do this. Psalms can be used for Christianity for example. Mantras for Hindu energies and the list can go on. The important thing is to use the prayers you believe in that are attuned to the divine aspect that you worship.

One word of caution never accepts or keep gifts from people who you know want to harm you. I have had a number of cases where the person had to get rid of gifts given her by others who cursed her. Objects can be used as a focal point, which is why ghosts can follow a beloved object, spirits can inhabit objects, and accepting gifts has caused much grief.

If you do not want to be rude cleanse the object and then give it to charity. It is another reason to be sure to cleanse anything you buy. Many people give away gifts that they were given by people they disliked. You can buy an object energized with ill intent and not know what is happening in your home.

All of these problems can be resolved by being careful. Cleanse the object before bringing them into your home. Bless the object to bring peace and happiness into the home or office where it is put so everyone can enjoy it. Relax and enjoy your purchases.

Meditation for November 11th – A Reflection Of Your Soul

Autumn Comments & Graphics
One way to gain a deeper sense of yourself is to meditate on the character of your living environment, which provides a reflection of your soul. Close your eyes and visualize the exterior of your home. Look at it as if you were a stranger, seeing it for the very first time. Hold each detail in mind, allowing the deeper significances to emerge. What is your overriding impression? Repeat this process for each room inside. Try to move beyond the surfaces to a deeper sense of the spirit of the home.

Feng Shui Tip of the Day for November 10th

I almost didn’t remember that today is ‘Forget Me Not Day.’ If you want to meet someone who will forget you not (especially when it comes time to tie the knot), then you might want to wear a special oil blend that promises that whoever gets a whiff will immediately be smitten by your ‘scentual’ magnetism. Blend two drops each of rose essential oil, jasmine essential oil, bergamot essential oil and damiana essential oil to a base of a quarter cup of almond oil and then wear this mix as a perfume or aftershave. You’re sure to be remembered very fondly, long after the initial introductions have worn off. Believed to be stimulating and highly effective love attractants, these oils, when mixed together with loving intention, have been used as charms to help draw in new partners or even to help to strengthen existing relationships. Applied to the pulse points, or even used in the bath as massage oil, this preparation will give new meaning to the warning ‘slippery when wet.’ Go ahead and forget I ever said that!

Spell for Thursday

 Success in Finding a Job

When you submit a job application, manuscript for publication, or anything that requires paper there are several things that you can do, using herbs and crystals as well as some techniques based on ancient beliefs. One or all of the parts of the techniques can be used, but first you must make your combined incense and dressing powder base

You Will Need:

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp ground lemon balm
  • Few drops of bergamot oil
  • Bowl

The Spell:

  • Mix all the ingredients together in the bowl.
  • For a dressing powder add a carrier such as powdered chalk or talcum powder which should be unscented.
  • To use as incense leave it as it is, and burn it on a charcoal disc in a heatproof burner.
  • FOR THE SPELL PROPER- YOU WILL NEED
  • Your papers (application form etc) Any supporting documents (e.g. your CV, covering letter) METHOD
  • Light your incense
  • Before you begin writing or filling in your forms smoke the paper on which you will write. This consists of wafting the required amount of paper or the application form in the incense smoke and asking a blessing for the process you are about to start.
  • You may wish to place a crystal on your desk to help in the writing or you could place it on or near your printer.
  • You might use tigers eye for clearer thinking or tourmaline to attract goodwill. Be guided by your own intuition.
  • Once you have completed the forms or the writing you can dress each page individually.
  • On the back of each page sprinkle the dressing powder
  • Draw your four fingers through the powder in wavy lines from top to bottom so they leave very clear tracks.
  • Leave for a few moments, then shake off the powder, all the while visualizing the success of your project.
  • Finally, you can leave the papers in front of the image of your chosen deity if you have one, or offer them for a blessing overnight When you have done this, you know that you have done as much as you can to ensure success as is humanly possible. It is literally now in the hands of the gods. Obviously, you will already have done or will be doing any necessary research into your project on a physical level.

LUST POTION

LUST POTION

6 drops of Patchouli oil

6 drops of Sandalwood oil

6 drops of Rose oil

6 drops of Clove oil

6 drops of Nutmeg oil

6 drops of Olive oil

Wear as a perfume whenever you’ll be in the presence of the person you’re trying to attract.

Be careful, this stuff is really potent. And don’t be surprised if you find others eyeing you as well.

I find it’s pretty effective for getting a man’s attention. I would probably suggest substituting amber oil for the rose oil in order to attract a woman.

SLEEP SPELL & OIL

SLEEP SPELL & OIL

To Induce You will need:

1/2 oz carrier oil

12 drops bergamot

3 drops lavender

3 drops cypress

Directions: In 1/2 oz of carrier oil (I used apricot kernel, sweet almond would also be good), mix 12 drops of bergamot, 3 drops lavender and 3 drops cypress.

To increase the benefits of your sleep, apply a few drops behind your ears,
spreading the excess out over your jawline.

Do this immediately before bed.

This is a good oil blend for people who have trouble falling asleep at night,
or for people who sleep restlessly.

FULL MOON OIL

FULL MOON OIL

13 drops of sandalwood essential oil

9 drops of vanilla essential oil or extract

3 drops of jasmine essential oil

1 drop of rose essential oil

Mix prior to a full moon. Charge in a clear container or vial in the light of the full moon.

Use to anoint candles or yourself for full moon rituals or just when you feel like you need the moons energy.

Feng Shui Tip of the Day for November 8th

I recently released a report called ‘Shape Shifting; Shifting your Thoughts, Changing your Shape.’ I researched this report for well over two years, trying to find both cutting edge medical information as well as ancient medicinal knowledge that will allow people to ‘age backward’ and find a renewed sense of health, happiness and longevity simply by making some lifestyle shifts. One of those involves using different medicinal spices to achieve better health and long life. On ‘Cook Something Bold Day’ I’d like to offer a recipe for ageless living that involves a spice called tumeric. Ayurvedic practitioners have long held that tumeric takes away old age, and if a very little bit is rubbed on the skin, it can take away wrinkles. More philosophical theorists and herbal practitioners once called tumeric ‘the spice of love and luck.’ Hawaiians use tumeric in purification ceremonies, and in India this spice is burned for protection, as it’s believed that demons and other malevolent creatures detest its smell. Today, try to be bold and ageless and cook something tasty by adding no more than an eighth of a teaspoon of tumeric to any traditional savory recipe. Now you won’t be growing old, you’ll be growing bold!
