A love candle with oils and herbs hidden in a secret place instills confidence in our power to be good lovers. It is a secret source of inspiration when times are hard and you need to work through problems that arise in your relationship.

Hold a pink candle and charge it for future spells, by visualizing you and your lover in a happy loving embrace. Put the energy from this vision into the candle. The say out loud:

“We will always love each other.
May the Goddess and God grant this.
for the good of all.”
 

When problems arise in your relationship or you need self-confidence, take out the candle on a Friday during a waxing moon and anoint it with love oil using this procedure: Put some oil on your index finger, and beginning in the middle of the candle, run your finger to the wick end. Then repeat, rubbing the oil down to the bottom of the candle. Light the candle and let it burn down completely and go out.

There is no magic spell that functions exactly like an around response from a personal security guard one might hire for service. Locking your door may prevent a human thief. However, certain danger can only be repelled by magical methods. These dangers include:

*Malicious spells, hexes, jinxes, magic “tricks” or negative enchantment cast deliberately against one person by another.

*The evil eye

*Assorted spiritual danger deriving from a vast variety of spiritual sources. These may be caused deliberately or inadvertently.

Although these dangers derive from magical and spiritual roots, they may manifest in very physical ways, as illness, accidents, and general disaster. However, because there derivation is at least partly magical, prevention and remedies must also be at least partly magical.

Tips for successfully casting Protection spells

* Number 5: The number of fingers on each hand is the number most associated with magical protection, as are the magic numbers Seven and Nine.

*Color: Red, black, and blue are the colours most associated with magical protection.

A Simple Way to Balance or Center and Ground Yourself

I have been using this method on and off for many years. I had stopped when I had minor knee surgery in November 2018 and the place I was working closed their doors for good on December 20, 2018, not because they wanted to but because the bank that had foreclosed on the strip mall it was located in decided after 7 years to kick all the businesses still operating out and being a small restaurant the funds needed to open in a different location were not available, these are two of the things that helped to contribute to me once again going into a major depression and anxiety/ panic attacks coming back into my life. I allowed myself to become more focused on negative things in my life then the positive things. Usually I am an optimistic person unless I stop doing the things that keep me this way. The method I explain below is a very important part of my spiritual path and mental health.

This method of balancing or centering and ground yourself requires getting up just as the Sun breeches the horizon. So it is not for those who like to sleep in some.

Go outside and stand on the grass, dirt, sand, or whatever direct contact you can to Mother Earth/Gaia (1) as close as possible to being in between the rising Sun/Ra/Savitr(Hindu name of God at sunrise and sunset) (2) and the setting Moon/Triple Goddess/Luna (3).

Say hello to and state your intention to ground to which ever Earth Goddess name you choose. Thank the Earth Goddess for her grounding and energy.

Say hello to which ever Sun God name you choose while facing the direction the Sun is rising. Thank the Sun God for his warmth and energy.

Next turn to the direction where the Moon Goddess is. Say hello to whatever name of the Moon Goddess you choose. Thank the Moon Goddess for her guidance and energy.

After I am grounded well and start to feel centered I open myself up to The Great Mother and Great Father asking them to cleanse all negativity, fear, anger, pain, and whatever else comes to mind all the way down to my cellular level. To push it down my body into Mother Earth to rejuvenate and renew it into positive energy to use however she needs to. For me I can actually feel energy moving through out my body and into my legs and my legs feel heavy once they no longer feel that way I know all the negativity has left me during this grounding, centering, and balancing meditation. It can vary from a few minutes up to a half hour or so, it depends on how much needs to be cleaned out of you. After my legs feel normal again I ask to be filled with love, kindness, less physical pain, and positive energy.

The first time I decided to do this to help me out of the depression, isolation, and anxiety I was feeling I had to sit down because my legs were trembling with all the negativity I was expelling and I was afraid I might fall. Once I sat down I also sent a shoot out from my root chakra to help ground me better which had the side affect of unblocking and cleansing all my chakras. It took me about 2 to 3 days of doing this at sunrise and sunset to rid myself of all the negative thoughts and feelings I let myself build up over 4 months. I now am ready to face whatever the Universe sends my way and be a leader by example again for my coven.

My heartfelt thanks to Priestess Hypatia for taking over for me so I had time to get back to being me. I also owe a debt of gratitude to Lady of the Abyss of WOTC for taking time out of her busy schedule to post on our site. I am thankful and honored that so many people took those time to send me encouraging emails and comments. It is good to be back with you all again.

Once you have recovered a coin with the year of your birth imprinted, wrap the latter in a cabbage leaf (a food notoriously linked to good luck) and tie everything with a piece of string.

Let the leaf dry in the sunlight (this usually takes 2 to 3 days) and then wrap it in a piece of natural fabric.

(SIDE NOTE from Lady Carla Beltane: To clean eggshells of that film that stays after you use the egg for whatever run the eggshell under as hot of water that is comfortable for you while gently moving a finger around the inside the shell. Then place the eggshells open side up into an empty egg carton to dry thoroughly. After they are thoroughly dry, I place them on my pastry sheet and use a rolling pin to crush them.)

And today, we’re going to harness the symbolism of the strong, powerful egg shell in our newest protection spell.

This spell leverages the potent symbolism of the egg, representing life, potential, and protection. As always, while spell ingredients provide energy to propel our manifestation, the power lies within your intention, the faith you have in the process, and the energy you infuse into it.

Instructions

Cleanse: Begin by creating a safe and sacred space. If desired, cleanse the space with smoke from sage or your favorite cleansing herbs. Light the white candles and place them on your altar or sacred space.
Consecrate: If you wish, you can use the marker to draw symbols on the egg that are meaningful to you and represent protection. These could be runes, sigils, or other symbols associated with protection in your personal practice.
Visualize: Hold the egg in your hands. Close your eyes and visualize yourself or what you want to be protected is living inside of the eggshell. Imagine that the eggshell is keeping you safe from negative energies or influences that may be affecting you.

Protect: Pour salt into the bowl, and place the egg int the center. As you do this, recite the following incantation (or one of your own creation):

“Shell of life, pure and round, Ward off harm, guard my ground. By the power of earth and sea, As I will it, so mote it be.”

Manifest: Leave the egg within the salt circle on your altar or sacred space for as long as you feel is necessary. Some people might choose to leave it overnight, while others might choose to leave it for several days.
Close: End the ritual by closing your sacred space in your chosen manner. You might choose to do this by extinguishing your candles, thanking any spirits or deities you invoked, or simply stating your intention to close the space.
Clean Up: Once you feel the spell is complete, take the egg outside and return it to the earth. You can do this by burying it in the ground or breaking it and scattering it in a garden or forest. As you do so, thank the egg and release any negative energies it has absorbed.

What you will need:

-1/2 oz olive oil
7 drops pepper oil (add cayenne pepper to olive oil if you wish)
-10 drops peppermint oil – or peppermint essence from icing part of a grocers plus olive oil.
-12 drops of rue or rosemary oil. You can add rue or rosemary to olive oil and put in a warm place for 3 days and strain or buy the essential oil.
-Some crushed black peppercorns
-15 drops of pine oil or some pine needles stepped in olive oil for 3 days in warm place and strained.
Or pine essential oil.
One obsidian or black onyx stone or a small black pebble.

Blend together in an eggcup and put In a clean brown or dark medicine bottle. Some of these oils are volatile. Do not anoint yourself with Banishing oil. You could burn yourself. Wash your hands after using. Charge the stone or stones used after adding it and focus on the person and your intent pouring in energy and emotion. As you dress the candles you make them your magical tools. Charge again as you massage away from you massaging in banishing oil from middle to the ends of the candle.

Have a magical picnic and break bread with friends. Do a meditation in which you visualize yourself completing a project you have already begun. Make a corn dolly charm out of the first grain you harvest or acquire. Bake a sacred loaf bread and give a portion of it to Mother Earth with a prayer of appreciation. Make prayers for a good harvest season. Do prosperity magic. Harvest herbs in a sacred way for use in charms and rituals. Kindle a Lammas fire with sacred wood and dried herbs. If you live in or near a farming region, attend a public harvest festival, such as a corn or apple festival.

Rose Oil Attraction Spell

This is a white magick spell that requires readily available ingredients; the important thing is to perform the spell on a Friday under the influence of Venus’s energy and magic.

Ingredients

1 blue or pink candle

1 dagger (blessed with holy water)

1 bottle of rose oil

How to perform it:

The first thing to do is to choose a blue or pink colored candle, depending on the sex of the person who will perform the spell.

Take the dagger and engrave a heart on the candle, meanwhile visualize the person who interests you. Then grease the candle with rose oil and say the following request:

“Goddess Venus, you who has the power of love, fill me with your strength and make the person I love (say his/her name) come to me.”

What Is Lughnasadh & How To Celebrate It

Lughnasadh is a Gaelic festival that occurs on August 1st each year, marking the dawn of the harvest season. This holiday marks the midpoint between the Summer Solstice and the Autumn Equinox. Lughnasadh traditions celebrate the first cutting of grain, the bountiful harvests of corn, and the Irish craftsman and warrior god, Lugh.

Traditionally, Lughnasadh is celebrated in Ireland, Scotland, and the Isle of Man. Historically, the occasion was marked with a festive competition testing skills of craft and athleticism in honor of Lugh and his foster mother Tailtiu. Offerings made to Lugh would include a sacred bull and a cutting of the first harvest of corn.

This holiday is considered a cross-quarter day on the neo-pagan Wheel of the Year. In some Wiccan traditions, this is the time of year in which the Horned God’s power begins to wane, and the Goddess prepares for his passing at the coming Samhain.

On the same day, some Christians celebrate the holiday of Lammas in an incredibly similar tradition. With the first harvest of grain a loaf of bread is baked and brought to the church to be blessed. Once its blessing is received, the baker takes the bread back home, breaks it into four pieces, and places them at the four corners of their barn or property to protect the grain in the coming months.

Lughnasadh or Lammas?

Though the two are often conflated in Neo-Pagan groups, Lughnasadh and Lammas are two separate celebrations. Lughnasadh is a holiday that is still celebrated by pagans and non-pagans alike in Ireland, Scotland, and The Isle of Man. Though it doesn’t look like what we think the ancient practices may have been, we do know that the traditions surrounding Lughnasadh have been syncretized and are still alive today.

Lammas is the name typically chosen for the Wiccan Wheel of the Year. It is celebrated as the first harvest festival of the year. As stated above, this is the time of year within Wiccan traditions when the Horned God prepares for his passing during Samhain. This holiday is celebrated with bread baking, frivolity, and feasting.

How to Celebrate Lughnasadh

14 Imbolc Ritual Ideas for a Pagan February Eve Celebration

Imbolc, also called Imbolg or St. Brigid’s Day, is a traditional Gaelic holiday that is celebrated by pagans worldwide, including Wiccans as one of the eight Sabbats.

Imbolc marks the midpoint between the winter solstice (Yule) and the spring equinox (Ostara). As such, it is considered a cross-quarter day on the pagan wheel of the year, and it is often celebrated around February 1st – 2nd, or August 1st – 2nd if you’re in the Southern hemisphere.

What’s the meaning of Imbolc? Each winter, we shut ourselves up in our homes for warmth, much like the animals and insects that enter hibernation through the colder months. The home has collected dust and stagnant energy as we have shifted our focus to survival mode.

Imbolc is a word that comes from the Old Irish i mbolc (Modern Irish: i mbolg), meaning ‘in the belly’, and refers to the pregnancy of ewes at this time of year. Spiritually, Imbolc is a time of banishing the winter season so that we can sow a bountiful harvest in the springtime. During this time, we celebrate the first signs of the approaching spring: blades of grass and dandelions steadily emerge from the cold ground, the singing of birds returns to soften the cold chill of the air, and many of those hibernating creatures are beginning to awaken.

Imbolc is traditionally the great festival and honoring of Goddess Brigid, known as St. Brigid by Catholics.

How to Celebrate Imbolc

The days are becoming longer again, and we can finally open up our homes to clear out the winter blues that have been lingering within. This time of new beginnings presents a wonderful opportunity to cleanse and purify ourselves and our homes of that stagnant energy we’ve been building up in hibernation.

Lughnasadh Bone Charm

Lughnasadh falls opposite of Imbolc on the Wheel of the Year. While Imbolc is widely considered a sabbat of the divine feminine, many consider Lughnasadh a celebration of the divine masculine. Being the first of three harvest festivals, we can mark the occasion with plentiful gratitude for not only the flora and fauna that feeds us physically on a daily basis, but also gratitude for the fact that the harvest allows us to survive and thrive, thereby increasing our positive spiritual influence in the world.

Simply acquire any bones to which your intuition leads. Yes, humanely and sustainably sourced chicken or cow bones are okay! Ensure that the bones are dry, and use a permanent marker to draw symbols and words related to the harvest, satisfaction, and sustenance onto them. Consider tying stalks of wheat or any grain to the bones once you are finished decorating. Hang these in your home (especially inside or outside the front door) to encourage a plentiful life and to honor the earth now and forever.
