Guided Meditation for Young Children

Guided Meditation for Young Children
image
Author: LynxSeer

Most of your meditations are focused on bringing balance into your life. Meditation is a great way to calm the mind. Therefore so can your children. You can do a guided meditation with a your child (as young as a toddler) or let the older children guide themselves. I’ve found meditation a great way to have arguing siblings calm down enough to come together with their differences.

Grounding and Centering to Calm Angry or Frustrated Young Minds

Here the child will be writing numbers on the blackboards in their mind, each time they erase them they will feel more calm and collected and more ‘themselves’ without the anger and frustration. Speak in a quiet soothing voice. I’ve written this in my own voice, feel free to make it your own.

Have the child lay on their back, in front of you (don’t try to touch them, this will just increase the energy they already can’t control.

*Close your eyes taking a deep breath.

*[You’ll guide them in re-connecting to their own energy with speaking.] Begin at your feet (‘become aware of your toes, relaxing as your laying. Become aware of your ankles…then calves…then knees…etc. up through the head.)

*Feel the ground beneath you, the energy of the earth seeping into you through your shoulders and rear. Let the energy of the earth take your anger and frustration. Let your mind quiet.

*Picture a large blackboard in your mind. You are standing in front of it.

*Pick up a piece of chalk. Draw a large circle on the blackboard.

*Begin with the number 10. Draw it within the chalk circle.

*There is an eraser in your right hand.

*Use the eraser to wipe away the number in long stokes, leaving the circle intact.

*Write the number 9…….Doing this all the way down to 1 (you can also direct the calming energy…generally at number 5 I again remind them that with each number they are growing more calm.)

*Erase the number 1.

*The blackboard slowly fades from your mind.

*Take a deep breath and open your eyes.

*Take a moment before stretching your revitalized muscles awake.

Here are some tips for doing meditation with children. This is my Autumnal Equinox Guided Meditations but they can be used throughout the year, really.

Meditation with the very young child: (ages 2 – 6)

Meditation with the very young child is more teaching them to focus and ‘stop’ for a few moments. This will not last long as a young child has a hard time staying focused for more than a couple of minutes – so don’t try to make them do longer. The simplest thing you can do with a very young child (or a child who has never tried meditation) is the Bell or Gong. You can also do this technique with a crystal glass partially filled with water.

*Have the child lay in a comfortable position.

*Have them close their eyes and take a few deep breathes.

*Speak soothingly to them for a few moments to sharpen their focus: “do you hear the birds?” do you feel the breeze on your skin?

*Tell them you are going to ring the bell. Tell them to follow the sound with their ears and to not open their eyes until the sound goes quiet.

*Gently ring the bell or tap the crystal – something that makes a sound that slowly fades.

*When they open their eyes ask what they felt, how did the bell sound, etc.

*You may find a child will tell you the sound never goes away completely – this is scientifically true – the sound waves just move out of range of our hearing. Children love this concept and will tell you a million eye-opening things about the sound of the ‘bell’.

Meditation with the young child: (ages 6 – 11)

As you both sit outside, ask the child what they did this year? What was the favorite thing they did this summer? Have them describe it in detail. You can go so far as to explain how that wouldn’t have been possible without the Gods blessing you with good weather.

First Guided Meditation – Thankful for a beautiful Summer. Lets go to the beach!!

(You can also use a fountain, swimming pool, whatever kind of water the child is familiar with) {Note: I’ll tell this as I tell it, in my voice, feel free to make it your own as you know your children and what they can connect with}

*Lay down

*Close your eyes and take a few deep breathes.

*Feel your body getting heavy, as if it will sink into the ground.

*I’m going to count slowly to ten, keep breathing and relaxing {1, 2, your getting a little heavy. 3, 4, 5, your arms are too heavy to lift, 6, 7, 8, you feel the breeze softly caressing your skin, 9, 10}

*You see a hallway in front of you in your mind. There is a door at the end that is closed.

*Walk through the door onto a beach on a warm sunny day.

*In your mind, just feel yourself standing still for a moment looking around, seeing the waves wash against the shoreline in their regular rhythms, over and over again. Hear the soft whoosh of the waves. And the kee-kee of the sea gulls.

*Watching the waves, breathe with them. Take a beep breath in as the waves wash to shore, breathe out as the water recedes.

*As you breathe with the waves you feel the sun shining down on you. It feels warm and soft – like a hug. It is a hug from the Mother Goddess. She’s glad you are here, enjoying her beach.

*Enjoy this hug from the Goddess. Feel warm and comfortable and relaxed in her embrace.

*When enough time has passed, begin to come back to your everyday active self. Turn around and see the doorway again.

*Walk through the door into the hallway. I’m going to count backwards from 10 as your body wakes up. {10, you can feel slight tingles in your toes and fingers, 9, 8, your body is getting lighter, 7, 6, 5, you are again aware of the air around you, 4, 3 you can feel the ground beneath you, 2, 1, open your eyes}

*Stretch out those limp arms and legs, take a deep breath, and sit up.

*Do you feel your new energy, all set and ready to go again!

Second Guided Meditation – Thankful for a beautiful Summer. Lets go to the fields!!

*Lay down

*Close your eyes and take a few deep breathes.

*Feel your body getting heavy, as if it will sink into the ground.

*I’m going to count slowly to ten, keep breathing and relaxing {1, 2, your getting a little heavy. 3, 4, 5, your arms are too heavy to lift, 6, 7, 8, you feel the breeze softly caressing your skin, 9, 10}

*Imagine walking through a beautiful meadow on a warm sunny day.

*In your mind, just feel yourself standing still for a moment looking around, seeing the tall brightly colored wild flowers blowing in the gentle breeze, hear the breeze passing over the grass, the bees buzzing for nectar.

*Watching the flowers nodding in the breeze, breath with them. *Breathe out as the breeze blows; inhale as it ceases.

*As you breathe with the flowers you feel the sun shining down on you. It feels warm and soft – like a hug. It is a hug from the Mother Goddess. She’s glad you are here, enjoying her beautiful meadow.

*Enjoy this hug from the Goddess. Feel warm and comfortable and relaxed in her embrace. Her breath is the breeze gently caressing your skin.

*When enough time has passed, begin to come back to your everyday active self.

*I’m going to count backwards from 10 as your body wakes up. {10, you can feel slight tingles in your toes and fingers, 9, 8, your body is getting lighter, 7, 6, 5, you are again aware of the air around you, 4, 3 you can feel the ground beneath you, 2, 1, open your eyes}

*Stretch out those limp arms and legs, take a deep breath, and sit up. Do you feel your new energy, all set and ready to go again!

Meditation with the older child: (ages 11 – 14)

An older child is better able to connect by grounding and centering. They should have enough self-control to shut out outside noises and distractions (otherwise how would they do their homework..hehehe) Therefore you don’t have to do as much, you can let them develop their own minds with meditation. Especially these Sabbats meditations for thankfulness. I suggest you sit with them and do your own meditation – because as a child learns to shut out the outside world they can get a little frightened – they are so used to the stimuli.

Explain that we are thankful for all we have done and experienced through the year. You can even make a list of special events – or work on a scrapbook (I love scrapbooking with my kids) . As life goes on, it is in caring interactions that we find joy and happiness. Explain the steps of the meditation to them before beginning. As you go through your own meditation – only speak softly occasionally to move to the next step – otherwise, let the child progress on their own to fill in the mental images.

Guided Sitting Meditation:

*Sit cross-legged, back held straight, and face each other.

*Clasp your hands and let them rest in your lap.

*Close your eyes.

*Breathe easily and evenly, in and out. Silently count each breath in as one count, and each breath out as one count, till 50 counts – 50 breathes. (Breathing in is 1, breathing out is 2, etc)

*Now, while continuing to breathe evenly, take some time to think about the event or person you are most thankful for. Relive the experience (s) in your mind. What were your favorite parts? Who was there? Do you feel the sun on your skin?

*Continue breathing deeply and evenly. Imagine writing a letter of thanks to the Goddess. Thank Her for this time you so greatly enjoyed. Thank Her for your family and friends.

*Imagine folding the letter into a paper airplane and sending it to Her on the breeze.

*Continue breathing deep and evenly.

*Think about some ways you can show Her and your family your appreciation of them.

*Again become aware of your body. How do your feet feel? Your legs, torso, arms head?

*Take a final deep breath in, slowly let it out, open your eyes, stand up, and stretch.

Mordgud’s Blot

Color: Black
Element: Earth
Altar: Upon cloth of black set many knives laid end to end in a pathway, crossed with a single spear. Set also a chalice of mead and seven black candles.)
Offerings: Blood.
Daily Meal: Meat.

Invocation to Mordgud

Hail, Mordgud, Gatekeeper of the Dark Road,
Helvegr’s watchwoman, never sleeping,
Your dark eyes watch always the oncoming road
For the lost soul who must be rescued,
Wandering in the dark with no hope
Of being gathered to Hela’s peaceful breast.
Hail, Right Hand of Hel, Warrior who protects the Way
From those who would plunder the wisdom
Of the slumbering Dead, who would raid
The secrets of the Underworld,
From those who would wreak their doom
In foolishness before their time,
All these you turn away with upraised hand,
Though fools may not understand
The kindness that you do them.
Hail, Guardian of Hel’s Gate,
Whose eyes see the Dead, in all their forms,
Weeping, sleeping, bewildered and fearful,
Laughing with open arms,
All are ushered through your Gate
With your exquisite compassion and comfort
For you leave none behind.
By the Dark Road of Stars, we hail you, Lady of the Last Gate!
By the roaring river Gjoll, we hail you, Mistress of the Last Spear!
By the gold-roofed bridge, we hail you, Mistress of the Black Tower!
By the passage of knives, we hail you, Mistress of the Knife’s Way!
May you welcome us in our hour of need.

(All come forth and prick their fingers, and wipe the blood on the tip of Mordgud’s spear, saying, “Welcome me in my time through the last gate.” The mead is poured out as libation.)

Life As The Witch – Protection While Working Magick, Using Crystals

Witchy Comments

Protection While Working Magick

Using Crystals

Using crystals for protective work is very similar to sympathetic magick. It works best as a technique for permanently protecting a space and for restoring balance to energies where there has been a disturbance.

The best crystals to use are unpolished, plain white quartz. You will need four crystals, one for each point of the compass. They should be cleaned first. You can do this by leaving them out in the Sun on a windowsill for a few days, putting them in a glass and leaving them in running water for ten minutes or by smudging.

When you have your cleansed crystals, you need to charge them up to be protective. Find a safe space to sit down where you won’t be disturbed. You might like to use some of the other techniques to ensure the space is clear—the aura exercise works particularly well in this case. Or you could charge your crystals away from the area you want to protect.

When you are settled and relaxed, hold the crystals cupped in your hands. As you breathe in, imagine you are breathing in golden energy. This energy, once you’ve breathed it in, flows out down your arms and into your hands. Here it surrounds the crystals in golden light. While you’re visualizing this, imagine feelings of safety and security. It’s important to keep your thoughts positive—focus on cleanliness and purity, not on the negativity that you want to keep out. After a couple of minutes, very gently lay the crystals aside, let your breathing return to normal, and repeat the aura exercise. Have something to eat and drink, and keep the crystals in a bag made of natural material until you need to use them.

When in use, they should be hidden, either just underground, under a lifted carpet, or behind a cupboard, as near the four cardinal compass points around the edge of the area as you can. As with all protections, work in a clockwise direction with knowledge and intent of what you are doing.

ALL ABOUT SPELLS

ALL ABOUT SPELLS

The spell is at the heart of folk magick. it is simply a ritual in which various
tools are purposefully used, the goal is fully stated (in words, pictures or
within the mind): & energy is moved to bring about the needed result.

Spells can be as simple as reciting a short chant over a fresh rose while
placing it between 2 pink candles in order to draw love; forming & retaining an
image of the needed result in the mind; or placing a quartz crystal in a sunny
window for protection purposes.

To perform effective magick – 3 necessities must be present: The Need, the
Emotion & the Knowledge.

It has been said that magick was the first religion, & that if you lovingly
utilize the forces of nature to cause beneficial change, you also become one of
them.

It is these powers that have been personified as Goddesses & Gods. Attuning with
them is a spiritual experience & is the basic of all true religion.

COMPOSE THE RHYME OR WORDS OF POWER

Clearly state your need.

Clearly state all dimensions of your need (enduring love, rather than just love;
complete protection, rather than just physical protection; etc.).

If possible, mention some of the tools that you’ve decided to use in the spell
in your words of power or magickal rhyme. Indeed, for some spells, these words
may help you to structure the entire rhyme or chant.

Use hypnotic words (those beginning with ‘s” or containing a “z”) for psychic-
awareness, love, healing spells; Use potent, strong words for protection spells.
match the words to the type of ritual you’re composing.

Don’t expect the words to simply flow from you. Work at it & work with them.
Your psychic mind knows what you need.

EXAMPLES:

“I ask in the name of (Goddess & God or The All) that I, Morgan, be granted
(state desire)…I ask that this be correct & for the good of all people. So
mote it be. In no way will this spell reverse, or place upon me any curse.”

“In this night & in this hour, I call upon the Ancient power. O Goddess Bride &
Consort Bright, I ask thee now to bring your light.”

“I have a need that must be met. I ask thee (name of deity) that I obtain the
perfect (whatever it is) for (reason).”

“I ask the Universe to lend the power of all the correct astrological
correspondences so they may enter this circle now to obtain my desire.”

“Therefore, I specifically draw toward myself the (desire) without affecting the
free will of all & harming none.”

“I now proclaim this spell is done. The (desire) is mine! In no way will this
spell reverse, or place upon me any curse! As I will, so mote it be!”

“In this sacred space & time, We call now the Old Ones; the Goddess of the moon,
seas & rivers; the God of the rayed Sun, of valleys & forests; Draw near us
during this, our circle.

BREAKING A SPELL

First Saturday after Full Moon or on a Full Moon; One white & One black candle

– Say:

“One the Eve of ( ) I cast a spell & the effect I created I must now quell.
Specifically ( ) May this spell be lifted & I now be gifted Specifically with
( )”

SPELLS TO BIND
A binding spell is the act of grasping the negative energy that is propelling a
person or thing & stopping it. In a way, you are negating the unhealthy energy.

The most important thing to remember when conducting a binding spell is that you
must control your own violent emotions of hatred or fear. The binding spell is
for protection only, not for harm. This is not easy. The Goddess to be employed
is Aradia, Queen of Witches. Be sure you are honest in your intentions. Aradia’s
symbol is the red garter. If you desire justice call upon Maat, she who balances
the scales. However, you must be sure that your own hands are free from violence
& hatred, lest she weighs the scales for you as well! Her symbol is the pure
white feather.

The binding itself is a very simple matter. A poppet can be sewn to represent
the malicious person. Fill it with earth (grave dirt if you can find it),
rosemary, sage, a piece of smoky quartz & a piece of amethyst. Also enclose a
piece of the person’s fingernails, a lock of hair, or another personal item.
Handwriting can be enclosed if you have nothing else. Photos can be used also.
If your intention at any time during the ritual is to harm that person, remember
that you will only bring harm upon yourself – so be very, very careful.

If you can’t do the ritual right away, store the doll (with the head still open)
in a white cloth. During the ritual, you will sew up the head while connecting a
psychic link. Then you will proceed to sew arms & legs of the doll together. You
will finish by wrapping the doll mummy-fashion with a black ribbon. Bury the
doll when you have completed the ritual.

A person can also be bound using mental capabilities.

Placing a sample of a person’s handwriting & copper tightly in an old bell jar
is a way of stopping malicious gossip. When the danger is over, burn the
handwriting.

The Witches Spell for October 11: Candle Spell Against Psychic Attack

CANDLE SPELL AGAINST PSYCHIC ATTACK

–white candle

–red candle

–black candle

Imagine a blue ball of energy inside the candles. Caress the candles as you chant:

Goddess of Three, I call upon thee,
To protect from those who wish to harm me
Keep them from using the gift from thee
Keep them from using thy gift to harm me

When you finish chanting, imagine the blue ball exploding into lines of blue.
Imagine the lines surrounding you and wrapping you in warm blue energy.

See the blue light as a shield. Know that it is unbreakable.
Think about how it is the Goddess’ Light protecting you.
Then put the candles someplace where they can burn undisturbed and let them burn themselves out, sending all the energy into your shield. This spell is best performed during the full moon.
For longer effects you can make it a seven-day spell.

Warnings & Cautions For The New Wiccan or Witch

Warnings & Cautions For The  New Wiccan or Witch

If you’ve looked at this site at all, you’ve seen the wonderful things that happen when you begin following a Wiccan path. I’ve been asked to discuss the not-so-nice things that can happen. I’m not trying to scare anyone off, just give you enough information so you can make an informed decision.

The Shadows are out there:

They exist, in the invisible world that parallels our own, living creatures. Unlike creatures from our world, they lack physical form, and feed on energy instead of matter. They are as varied as the animal life on our world. They range in size (power) from the equivalent of insects and rodents to the equivalent of magically trained humans, and beyond to the Great Old Ones. (My land is inhabited by one of these-it gives the psychic impression of a mountain with legs. It is not unfriendly, but an elephant is not unfriendly toward ants either. I stay out of our woods when it is about.) I mentioned that these creatures feed on energy. Most are content to graze on the random energy fields that leak from humans and other creatures in our world. Others, however, are a little more sinister. These, the ones you have to worry about, I call the Shadows.

Shadows come in three basic varieties. First are the little ones that feed off the energy in negative emotions. If you are emitting strong negativity, they will be drawn to you like flies to rotten meat. If you aren’t magically protected, they will happily latch onto your energy field (aura) and snack on it. They are usually not much more troublesome than leeches or mosquitoes; however, a thousand leeches could weaken a person severely.

Next come the more dangerous variety, more like rats or vultures than mosquitoes. These are attracted both by negative emotions and the energy of magical workings. They are stronger, and can push past weak or flawed defenses to get to you. And they are much harder to peel loose once they have their teeth into you.

Last are the intelligent variety. Their favorite meal is human life energy, the ‘heart-fire’ that burns in each of us. They are relatively rare even in their own realm, but they exist. The terms ‘Imp’ , ‘Evil Spirit’ and ‘Demon’ are fairly accurate. They are very strong. The more intelligent ones are capable of working their own Magic to breach your defenses. The most intelligent variety , being as lazy as humans, prefer to talk you into dropping your defenses and linking your energy field to theirs. (“Open yourself to me, and I will grant you power beyond your wildest dreams.” Yeah, right.) They also are capable (if someone is helpful enough to open a doorway for them) of entering our world. Once here, if they can get past all your defenses unless you are very strong at warding. They can enter your body and feast at will, even asserting a degree of control over you. Yes, this is exactly like the old stories of Demon possession.

You – yes, you can be a Vampire:

There exist in this world evil creatures. They are highly intelligent, capable of working magic, and extremely devious. They are capable of not only psychic magical attacks, but physical ones as well. As a species, they tend to be amoral, murderous animals. I call them ‘humans’. Humans are also capable of ‘feeding’ off the energies of other humans- Herne (owner of this website) calls them “Psychic Vampires”. They do this to gain more magical power, to control others, or to replace the energies they are losing by dealing with the Shadows. Some humans can even do this while traveling astrally. So that Evil Spirit that tried to get into your last circle may not have been from the other side; it could have been your next-door neighbor.

Oops! Did I just do that?

Magic is an art form. Despite the best efforts of Ritual Magicians and Technopagans, it remains as unpredictable and powerful as the weather unless you are highly skilled and focused. Scientists studying weather prediction in the 1970’s discovered something amazing. Weather, they found, is so unstable as to be impossible to predict more than a day or two in advance. In fact, computer models suggested something they called the Butterfly Theory. It seems that the air disturbed by a butterfly taking off from a cactus in Mexico, if it happened at the right time and place, could in theory cause devastating storms and tornadoes in the U.S. Midwest. Magic is very similar. Each action we take, magical or mundane, has consequences that spread out from it like the ripples in a pond.

They spread out, touching everything- and reflect back to converge on the source. Be very sure, then, before you work magic, exactly what the consequences may be. Ask yourself, “If this spell backfires on me, and affects me instead of the intended target, can I live with the result?” Thus, I tend to use magic “only in direst need, and then must the cause be just” (author unknown).

Some Wiccans counsel about how rain on your fields could cause drought elsewhere. This might be true, if you are trying with your own personal power to ‘squeeze’ the rain clouds as they pass over. But asking the Lady and Lord for the blessing of rain for everybody’s crops is a different thing entirely. Selfish magic has negative consequences: Loving, giving magic only positive ones. For Selfishness is the true root of all evil. “I want it! Destroy the world, let Chaos take the universe, as long as I get what I want!” Be careful of what you ask, you just may get it…

Power corrupts:

So, you’ve studied hard, learned all about Wiccan magic, and now you find you can really do things. All the power of the Elements is yours to command. Love, money, power, respect- all these are yours. You are special. You are powerful. You are a God! Now, you must convince others to worship you, to lend you their energy so that your power can grow. But that’s OK, because you are a loving God, and you want only what’s best for your worshipers. And you know what’s best for them, for you know all, and see all. For you alone are God of this world you have created.

Can’t happen? Do the names Jim Jones, Sun Myung Moon or David Koresh ring a bell? It is important to remember that the gift of magical power is just that- a gift from the Lady and Lord. It must never be abused. And glorifying yourself because of something lent to you is like showing up at your class reunion in a borrowed suit and a rented Jaguar. This reason and this reason alone is why you will not find the Council of this site posting or trading spells and rituals. We don’t hand out loaded guns here.

Is it Friday, YET??? Please let it be Friday! Oh, It’s Just Thursday! Happy Thursday World!

How would you like about 5 of these nasty dudes wake you up at 3:30 in the morning? I pulled this pic off the net. I didn’t have my camera, I had a shotgun instead, lol! But 5 coyotes scratching, chattering and trying to get in were my alarm clock this morning. Oh, by the way, no one got shot during the making of this posting, lol!

Love you, guys!

“I think that’s what unity is – knowing one another and coming together and working with no conflict.”

–Chief Alan Wilson, HAIDA

When we are aligned with spiritual values, we cannot be in fear or conflict. When we are aligned to spiritual values, we have the Creator whispering solutions in our ears. Unity is one of the spiritual values. When we value unity we value solutions. If we think this way, then we have no conflict within ourselves.

Great Spirit, let me see through Your eyes.

Ah, It’s Good To Be Home! A Very Blessed Wednesday, to all my dear friends!

Good Wednesday Morning to everyone! I hope you are having a super fantastic day! Me? Ha, I am about half asleep. It will take me a week to catch up on my sleep. But there is no rest for the wicked, lol! I believe we have another cold snap tonight. It is suppose to really get cold. I will be back out in the building with the babies again. I will catch a quick nap between now and then.

I love being out in the supply building. That is what we call it, it houses all our supplies, food, bedding, snacks, and occasionally a baby or two. But at night when you get rid of everyone, it is so quiet. You can listen to the coyotes howling and an occasion wolf. But the best  part is feeding and caring for the little baby critters. The kittens are so cute. One of them is the color of Stinker and he reminds me of him. Then the little skunks, you wouldn’t believe them. They think I am momma. The minute I walk in the door, here they all come. They are big enough to climb out of their bed now. I am trying to teach them to eat cat food. All of them except one, is starting to eat. The stubborn one still wants the bottle. The kittens smell the cat food and here they come. It ends up, the kittens and the skunks eat together. They all grow up, they won’t know if they are a kitten or a skunk, lol! I guess when they raise that tail, they will know then, won’t they?

I feel pretty rested today. So I thought I would give the blog a whirl, just to see if you missed me, lol! Anyway, I am going to be busy. I hope you have a super, fantastic day!

Luv & Hugs,

Lady A

The Witches Spell for October 8: Reversing A Candle Spell

REVERSING A CANDLE SPELL

Do this 5 nights in a row, at dusk – as the sun dies and darkness descends.
Light 2 Black candles and as they burn, speak this invocation:
In the name of the Gods and all ye spirits,
“In the name of Cernunnos, and the light and the dark
and the Gods of the Netherworld,
Remove thy curse and sting from my heart and mine.
And whosoever shall be casting a curse against me,
Let he or she suffer their own curse.
Let these candles be their candles,

Current Moon Phase for October 6: Disseminating

Disseminating

(waning /135-90 degrees)

This is a tremendous time of transmutation. All of the prior elements are coming together for a final burst of creative output. You have seen a clear view of your own needs and the posture of significant others. Now the accumulation of that input is leading to a deep, core change within you. In this phase, you will naturally be inclined to seek higher guidance so that you can emerge from this transformation successfully. The Disseminating Moon favors sharing what you have learned (and are learning) with others.

Because so many herbs are potentially poisonous in various amounts, take extreme caution when dealing with a plant or herb you’re unsure of. Consult a physician, pharmacist or horticulturist before ingesting anything you are uncertain of!

Plant Kingdom Helps and Hints

Plant Kingdom Helps and Hints

The fresher a plant (or a plant preparation) is the better it responds to magical energy, unless you leave that item where it  will receive constant charging.

Dry plants and plant parts are fine for convenience, but they don’t have the magical vitality fresh ones do because the vital oils (and life energy) are  also “dry.” Mind you, there are cases when the dry quality may help your magic, such as when performing a good-weather spell!

The essential oil from a plant is a perfectly good substitute for fresh parts. Just be careful–these oils can be harsh on the skin, and some are toxic to  pets.

Growing your own magical plants and harvesting them at a traditional tie (e.g., Midsummer’s Day) does seem to boost the magical energy within.

If you have to buy plants from a supplier, organic plants have the best magical potential (chemicals can obscure magical intention). Also, find a supplier  you can trust. One green leafy thing looks a lot like another, and not all companies are honest in their packaging.

Along the same lines, as you collect plants for magical work make sure to carefully label everything both inside and outside the container. Always trust this  rule: If you’re not sure what it is, don’t use it!

You will need:

Essential oil of Ylang Ylang

Orange Pillar Candle

Photo of Intended (or a slip of parchment with their name on it)

Glue

Spell:

Take a big orange candle that has been dressed with the Ylang Ylang oil and set it in a dish of glue on your altar. A picture of the person or slip of paper with their name on it should be set in the glue under the candle. Cast a circle and perform the spell by reciting the following:

“By the four posts of my bed

I turn your head,

I turn your head,

By my lions and by my thighs

I draw your eyes,

I draw your eyes,

With Ylang Ylang and a bowl of glue

I make you think of me as I think of you.

I cause you to look at me

I cause you to look at me

I make you enchanted by what you see.”

Keep the candle burning on the altar until the glue sets completely. While the spell is underway and the candle burns, visually make a trail from that person to yourself. Do this on a map if the person lives far away, and put several drops of the oil on your doorstep. Wear the oil as perfume until the spell works. If the spell did not include the last three line you might attract the person’s attention without attracting them to you. You can also use a Compelling or similar oil to further draw the person to you physically.

A Basic Love Spell

A Basic Love Spell

You will need:

3 Cords of strings (Pink, red and green)

Spell:

Take the cords and braid them together. Firmly tie a knot near one end of the braid, thinking of your need for love. Next, tie another knot, and another until you have tied 7 knots. Wear or carry the cord with you until you find your love. After you have found him/her, keep the cord in a safe place or give it to one of the Elements.
