SEPTEMBER 16 birthday horoscope predicts that tend to go beyond the limit. As the zodiac sign for this birthday is Virgo, you can’t give up, or you find it extremely difficult to give in to defeat. You need to know what’s beyond the blue sky and have the patience and ability to find out. Patience is your virtue. Just do not become lax and take things for granted.

It’s not by trial and error, it is a calculated effort, and you are usually successful in your quests. However, there are some places this Virgin should not go. Everything is not for your discovery. As you demand respect, so do others. Be careful on those paths you cross and or crossover.

As far as your career aspirations, the September 16th birthday personality will make dreams profitable and gratifying. Although money is not your driving force, you like what it affords for you and your family. You like the awards that adorn your walls and shelves more than anything.

The September 16 astrology warns that you have a vulnerability to bad luck and misunderstandings. Be that as it may, you are a spiritual being and a religious person. As a child, your parents probably made you go to church, but as an adult, you have kept those values and beliefs. As a result, you have certain expectations of others.

There are times when everyone needs to be reminded that they have accomplished something and Virgos are no different. Bringing the bacon home is necessary but contributing to society often brings you personal happiness. This Virgo birthday person can be found in social professions as a therapist or social worker.

If today September 16 is your birthday, you are likely to have problems speaking your mind. You should stand up for yourself and for what you believe in more. No one will do it for you so that this quality can be considered as a negative birthday trait.

But when you do let loose your feelings, you can be hurtful and extremely insensitive. Nonetheless, you have a way of making people laugh about the situation. You would not think that the same Virgo is kind and is willing to go out of his or her way for a friend.

Your family says that you love to learn, but you hate change. The September 16 birthday personality needs security and stability. However, you only learn because things change. Don’t you see the irony of it all? If things did not change, we would not have the technology we have today that empowers you.

If you were to find a lover who has the same values and principles as the Virgo born on this day, everyone would be thrilled. A commitment with a similar person will more than compensate for lack of perfection. Usually, you’ll find this person to be sensitive but annoying.

Additionally, your friends say that you are likely a dreamer, but you make some dreams a reality. Other times, you are highly disappointed in the lack of perfection in others. The September 16 horoscope shows that you take your work seriously, and expect others to give the same amount of respect. You will expect everything done to perfection.

You see, when you blow things out of proportion, you have this way of making everybody sick of listening to and talking about it over and over again. Chill out, Virgo. Stop over analyzing every single thing. You’re going to give yourself a heart attack or worse, grey hairs. I’m laughing out loud, but you do tend to take the fun out of things by doing this.

The September 16 horoscope shows that you’re a go-getter. Typically, you expect perfection and are disappointed when things are changed. However a dreamer, you tend to make them a part of your life.

By doing so, you may worry too much. This could be unhealthy, but this zodiac birthday Virgo has a way of making light of serious situations by laughter. Someone like you would understand this and would make a perfect partner for you who are born today.

Flashback 2011 – The Rise of Wicca and Neo–Paganism in the United States

Author: Govannon Thunderwolf

Wicca is becoming the fastest growing religion in the United States. This statement was something I was hearing and reading more and more. Being a member of the Pagan community, I didn’t really notice any of this growth happening. The more books and articles on the Internet that I read, the more I kept seeing this statement. The research into this declaration became my focus of interest. What fascinated me the most about this account was the fact that Wiccans and neo – Pagans do not go around with the specific intent of finding converts. In the teachings and ideas of Wicca and Paganism, the idea of looking for converts is not encouraged and is looked down upon. Anyone seeking converts into Wicca or Paganism is breaking a cardinal rule.

Even though Wicca is generally a female dominated religion, there are men involved as well. Wicca is a religion that recognizes women and men as equals, but it does put a slight emphasis on women and the Goddess. Female witches out number males two to one in the United States, according to the Covenant of the Goddess’s estimates. Covenant of the Goddess is one of the oldest and largest Wiccan groups in the United States. They also state that much of the recent growth in Wicca and neo – Paganism has been among women. (Sanders xiv)

Where would someone look to find followers of Wicca and Pagans? They can be found anywhere and everywhere. The actual number of Wiccan and Pagan followers in the United States changes constantly, but in 1999 Helen Berger, a sociologist who spent ten years as a member of the neo – Pagan community, estimated that there are between 150, 000 and 200, 000 Pagans in the United States. It is suspected that there are many more among the ranks of Pagans today. Berger’s census also found that California has the highest amount of Pagans living within its boundaries at 15.7 percent, followed by Massachusetts at 7.6 percent, and New York at 7.3 percent. (Sanders xiv)

While there were many contributors to the construct of Wicca since the 1890’s, there was one man, who in 1954 wrote and published Witchcraft Today, and that man was Gerald Gardner (1884 – 1964) . Even though Druidism, Witchcraft, and other forms of Paganism were originally oral traditions, their revival is attributed to written text. (Clifton 14 – 15)

Very little is known about Gerald Gardner except for what is public record. He was a civil servant for the United Kingdom, and spent most of his career in Britain’s Asian colonies before he retired and settled in southern England. Gardner was one of the many who thought it more prestigious to have learned the “craft”, a term used for Witchcraft, an elder of one’s own family. Gardner didn’t claim to have learned Wicca from an elder of his own family, but did claim to have learned it from elders with family ties that went way back many generations. For most people in the Pagan community, it was well know that Gardner was considered a bit of a pervert due to his tendency toward bondage and ritualized punishment. It came through in his writings and ideas of practice, but the resurgence of “the craft” is mainly attributed to him. The people of Britain have always made changes to religions to try and make them their own, but Wicca is the only religion that originated in the United Kingdom. (Clifton 14 – 15)

Wicca is generally a solitary religion and seventy percent of its followers are solitary, taking personal responsibility for their own religious practice, rather than following an authority figure. Without a strict set of beliefs, “each practitioner can add or subtract beliefs at will, ” this is a part of what makes Wicca so popular. (Sanders 5)

Now I will continue this paper on three main reasons that I found the most compelling reasons for people of all walks of life to be drawn to Wicca and Paganism, beginning with a concern for the Earth.

The fear of Global Warming and preserving what we now have for future generations is a major common concern among contemporary Pagans. Most of modern society has lost an important connection with nature. In some cases there is even a fear of nature. To be fearful of the natural world, in which we as human beings came from, just as all life has, is quite a cause for alarm. When the system of Wicca was originally developed, its focus was on fertility, just as the ancients were focused on fertility. As history has shown, fertility was a main concern for all people in ancient times.

Life was hard for our ancient ancestors and fertility of the land, animals, people, etc. was the only way for them to continue life and surviving. With human fertility becoming less of a concern in modern times because of improvements in science, the focus has now shifted to nature. This change is another way in which Wicca and Paganism can remain a positive religion. It is a religion that recognizes change and changes with it. If something can’t change with the times, it will get left behind and become history.

The American mainstream religions have done very little to foster concern for nature. Never, have I heard of any sermons given on how people should be encouraged to care for the environment, be good caretakers of nature, and preservation of natural resources. This again, leads many to view Paganism and Wicca more approvingly. (Sanders 22)

Paganism also acknowledges nature by following the cycles of the seasons and life. Pagans and Wiccans are encouraged to live their lives by looking to nature as their guide. They live in the here and now as opposed to living and planning for the end of life. Through this view of nature, Wiccans and Pagans acknowledge their connection to all life and the greater cosmos. Many mainstream religious writers believe that honoring nature is not enough for religion or life because it contains violence and brutality. (Harvey 187) This worldview on life and nature is the basis for Wiccans and Pagans to believe in no absolute good or evil. All things in nature are good and evil at the same time and therefore it applies to life as well.

The second reason for the attraction to Paganism and Wicca is empowerment for women. The Christian church has treated women like “second – class citizens” for much of its history. This treatment of women is also prevalent in much of the Western world as well. (Sanders 22) Many women have become quite discontent with the Christian church. When women have expressed an interest in becoming more involved in the church, they are usually directed to make coffee and teach Sunday school. With the concerns of equal rights coming more and more to the forefront in our society, how do the patriarchal religions expect women to remain subservient? (Sanders 22)

For the last several thousand years of patriarchal religions domination of the Western world, large numbers of women have been searching for a spiritual existence free from the patriarchal dogma. With Wicca’s emphasis on Goddess worship, it attracts those women who want to find a spiritual side to their feminism. (Adler 207 – 24)

The feminist views of women have been the main driving force pushing Wicca to be accepted as a religion. Not all Wiccan groups are feminist though. Most Pagans and Wiccans have a more moderate view of the feministic ideas. Feminist Wiccan groups have dropped a lot of common beliefs in the Pagan community in favor of an all female belief system. By doing such things as only recognizing the female deities and eliminating the male deities, they are alienating themselves from the rest of the Pagan and Wiccan community. (Adler 180 – 81)

Many women have become quite discontent with the Christian church. When women have expressed an interest in becoming more involved in the church, they are usually directed to make coffee and teach Sunday school. With the concerns of equal rights coming more and more to the forefront in our society, how do the patriarchal religions expect women to remain subservient? (Sanders 22)

One doesn’t need to look very hard to see the atrocities that have been committed against women in history by patriarchal societies. One common saying in modern Pagan communities that can be found imprinted on t – shirts and bumper stickers is, “Don’t forget the burning times.” This refers to the days of the infamous witch-hunts. Malleus Maleficarum (The Hammer of Evildoers) published in 1486/87 by Jacob Spenger and Heinrich Krämer was the authoritative witch hunter’s manual. One key phrase from this manual that modern Pagan writers like to quote is: “All witchcraft comes from carnal lust, which in women is insatiable.” (Clifton 100) This “authoritative” work also stated that women were created from the bent rib of Adam, therefore women are “imperfect animals” if they are even animals at all. (Pearson 302)

In the Malleus Maleficarum, inquisitors, the ones who were authorized to verify involvement in witchcraft, were informed that guilty women would make sexual pacts with Satan. Therefore, after this pact was made, any event in the local community that disrupted the well being of the people was most certainly caused by a witch in their ranks. (Pearson 302 – 3)

When the inquisitors were in search of a “witch”, one could be found quite readily. More often than not, the accused was just a woman that someone had a grudge against. Many also speculated that these “witches” might have been highly learned women, such as early scientists. Because of the ridiculous information contained in the Malleus Maleficarum on how to proceed with the “trials” of the accused, there generally was “no mistake” of finding them guilty. Guilty women and a few men as well, were relatively few in the colonies of America. On the other hand, in Europe the numbers of the accused were astronomical. Imagine the amount of people that lost their lives due to the feelings of resentment of some sort or other, such as the amount of land they owned or a person’s general success. Many Wiccans and Pagans feel that the amount of people who were actually true witches during these “trials” was closer to none. (Gibson 112 – 18)

The final main reason that I would like to point out for the attraction of Wicca and Paganism is the attraction of the supernatural. While Pagans and Wiccans accept the belief in an unseen world, forces, and entities, many, if not all, Christian churches, in these modern times, ignore this belief. In many cases, a person could stir up quite a bit of trouble for themselves by stating a belief in an unseen world in the Christian church. (Sanders 23 – 26)

Reading ones future by using tarot cards and runes are very popular forms of divination among Pagans and Wiccans. There are many other popular forms of divination and occult sciences such as the use of crystals. Even though many of these beliefs forms were allowed by Christianity in their early years of development, now these systems have no place in Christianity. Many people have speculated when and why this shift occurred. Modern science has been trying to validate these occult sciences for quite some time now, but with limited success. The simple fact that the occult sciences are being tested gives valid support in their existence. (Handbook of Contemporary 425)

There are still many things in the world that can’t be explained by modern science. In the acknowledgement of this fact is where modern Pagans revel. It still gives room for belief in the ideas of fairies, mythical beings, and other such beliefs.

Discussions of the supernatural will quickly conjure up visions and ideas in relation to recent popular movies such as Harry Potter, The Seeker, Lord of the Rings, and many, many other movies. While these movies and books quickly catch the imagination, their similarities to actual supernatural occurrences are very, very limited. For the most part, these movies and books are purely fantasy. Even so, there have been some Christian based groups that are in opposition of these forms of entertainment. They believe that it sways people, especially children, to take an interest in Wicca and Paganism. (Handbook of New 459 – 60)

As Catherine Edwards Sanders, a Christian journalist, points out, “most Wiccans [and Pagans] have thought more seriously about spirituality and some of life’s big questions than many in the secular and even Christian cultures. They have not been content to skate through life seeking the gods of fashion, peer pressure, or materialism, reserving religion for weekends and special holidays.” (30)

Most Pagans and Wiccans actually view their lives as being interconnected with the rest of the world as a whole. They realize that there are, in fact, fewer events in their lives through this interconnection with the rest of the world.

With the impending end of the Mayan calendar in 2012, there have been many theories in reference to the end of the world. In fact, recently the “dooms day” movies have been coming out more and more frequently. One can only speculate that as 2012 draws nearer, the apocalyptic world movies and theories will by coming out at a frantic pace.

In the Wiccan and Pagan groups though, ideas of the world coming to an end are not so prevalent. Many think that the date of 12 December 2012 will be a beginning of a ‘New World Age.’ Many experts believe that this will be an age of peace and interconnection with the rest of the world and beyond for the next 5, 200 years. The experts are also saying that the ‘veil’ that separates our world from the spirit world will be lifted. The descendents of the Ancient Mayan’s say that we are already in the twenty – five year timeline of this change. (Rennison np.)

This information of the coming change according to the Mayan calendar is something that modern Pagans and Wiccans are looking forward to.

In conclusion, is there a rise in the Wicca and Pagan belief system? Given the research, the answer would definitely be a resounding yes. The movement is very broad and difficult to pin down, but it has been noticed. Many authors and professionals are calling on others to try and do research on the subject. With others taking an interest in the movement, maybe someone or maybe a group of individuals will come forward with some new views or theories on this movement. With these new views and theories we can only hope to find a definite reason for this shift.

Until then, there will be many I’m sure who will take on this daunting task. There are hundreds of theories already studied or in the process of being studied. I’m sure that there are many other ideas out there that have not yet been discussed or found in the public forum. With the case of the ancient Mayans, their descendants have said that there is plenty more information that they are in possession of, but have yet to let the rest of the world know about it. Whether there is more information yet to come remains to be seen.

I’m sure that there other ancient civilizations out there that have possessed knowledge or information, now lost. Unfortunately, just as these civilizations have disappeared, so has their immediate knowledge of this information. They did leave behind recordings of information that are in the processes of being deciphered and theories investigated. The only problem is that many individuals in the modern world have a very difficult time believing what the ancients were saying. This in turn leads to very different ideas in what is being told, many times the information is right there, but many misinterpret the information only because the obvious is just too difficult to comprehend.

Current Moon Phase

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 2020

Tommorow the Moon will be in a Waxing Gibbous phase. This phase is when the moon is more than 50% illuminated but not yet a Full Moon. The phase lasts round 7 days with the moon becoming more illuminated each day until the Full Moon. During a Waxing Gibbous the moon will rise in the east in mid-afternoon and will be high in the eastern sky at sunset. The moon is then visible though most of the night sky setting a few hour before sunrise. The word Gibbous first appeared in the 14th century and has its roots in the Latin word “gibbosus” meaning humpbacked.

Searching for the Witches’ Tower

Archaeologists hunt for evidence of a 17th-century English family accused of witchcraft

In the fields belonging to Malkin Tower Farm, outside the village of Blacko, in Lancashire’s borough of Pendle, stands a solitary tree where small charms, fruit, and even the odd dream catcher are known to appear. These offerings are left behind by amblers on countryside strolls who are aware of the farm’s association with the notorious Pendle witch trials. In 1612, nearly a dozen people from this scenic region of hilly pastureland were accused of witchcraft, convicted, and hanged in the nearby city of Lancaster. Though they took place more than 400 years ago—nearly a century before the better-known witch trials in Salem, Massachusetts—the trials continue to captivate an eclectic mix of scholars, tourists, and neo-pagans. Researchers now conducting excavations at Malkin Tower Farm are hoping to find archaeological evidence of the witches themselves. The task is a daunting one, since material remains of magical practice are often ephemeral and difficult to distinguish from everyday objects. It also requires an understanding of the Lancashire in which the condemned lived, which was beset by religious and social upheaval, as well as substantial changes in traditional modes of rural life.

The team, led by archaeologist Charles Orser of Ontario’s Western University, chose to investigate Malkin Tower Farm because it shares the name of a property where the family most closely associated with the trials, the Devices, are known to have lived. The location Orser selected is only one of the possible locations for their home. No standing buildings from the seventeenth century—and no tower—survive at the site, and the exact location of the Device family home was never recorded. But in this part of the world, where farms are handed down over generations, place-names persist. “The names of individual fields, in particular, can be very ancient in this area,” says Malkin Tower Farm owner Andrew Turner, who, with his wife Rachel, operates holiday accommodations at the property. “I wouldn’t be surprised if the name ‘Malkin’ is actually quite a bit older than the 1612 trials.”

The farm’s current cottages, which sit on the lower slopes of a hill and look out over a vista of pastures, stone walls, and small lakes, date to the eighteenth century. Orser chose to investigate a field directly behind them, hoping to find evidence of earlier buildings. A 2018 field season based on geophysical surveys didn’t turn up much, but the team has now encountered what Orser says are the remnants of a demolished residence. “Clearly where we’re excavating now is a tumbled house, there’s no question about it,” he says. “And I can imagine that the local authorities would have wanted to demolish a house that they believed was associated with evil.”

The Witches Almanac – Autumn

SEPTEMBER 2019. September is the culling season for many biological systems, with naturally variant physical systems initiating those processes. Land-falling hurricanes, which most frequently occur during September, thin woodlands and allow new growth to take seed. Such storms are more common during low solar cycles, now occurring as land areas cool more quickly than oceans, increasing wind speeds as hurricanes advance over land. Similarly, heat from forest fires are a necessary part of a cycle that clears aged tree growth and releases “naked seeds” on pine cones that begin forests anew. In fact, heat that leads to new gene expression extends to humans and all mammals, as the cold and flu season peaks in September and October, a time when the rate of solar decline is greatest along with decreases of vitamin D creation and its influence on the endocrine systems. Inflammation in general and related chronic conditions are most evident during the low point in 11-year solar cycles.

OCTOBER 2019. The frequency of our planet’s volcanic activity is part of natural cycle that regulates global temperatures. It is also part of a sequence of events that spreads new and natural soil across growth areas, setting the stage for renewed vegetation growth after the Fall culling season. Not only does volcanic activity correlate with the cyclical low in 11-solar cycles but they tend to occur during the greatest rate of decline in annual solar output, during Fall. Such an occurrence also hastens a drop in global temperatures in October as the amount of atmospheric moisture drops. This is the driest month of the year with rainfall generally confined to the Pacific Northwest, Florida and the Gulf Coast. Fire remains a presence in Southern California, paradoxically because of a robust growing season from Spring rains—another representation of the inverted repetition within nature.

NOVEMBER 2019. Fiery sunsets will signal the afterglow of any global volcanic ash distribution at high altitudes. This should be a welcome sight as it indicates a kind of natural fertilizer for the growing season on the other side of Winter. In fact, this can be an opportunity to spread seed after bird migration and just before the snowfall and work with a gift from nature! Snowfall provides nitrogen in a natural way and with a perfectly even distribution. Both can arrive early this year as a 17-year tendency for increasing snowfalls persists. The first cool fronts of the year advance through Florida with beautiful weather underway there.

Sunday – The day of the Sun Gods

Sunday–The Day of the Sun

Among all peoples in early times the sun was an object of wonder. It was to them a mystery, but although they could never understand it, they imagined many explanations of it. When we remember that in those long-ago days nothing was known of the rotation of the earth or of its movement round the sun, we can readily see how very real the movement of the sun must have seemed. But if it moved across the sky it must be a chariot, for it was in chariots that all men travelled quickly, while none but a god could ride across the sky.

The nature of the sun may have been difficult to understand, but the comforts and the benefits which it brought to men were plain to all. It was a kindly god who gave the earth warmth and light, who ripened the crops and the fruit and made them serviceable to man, who clothed the trees with leaves and scattered the fields with flowers. It is little wonder then that in all parts of the world men worshiped the sun, and the god whom they pictured in their imagination was all the more real to them because of the great worh he performed.

We have seen how the Greeks and Romans worshiped the sun as Apollo, the god who set out each day when the Gates of the East had been opened by the Goddess of the Dawn, and, driving his chariot across the sky, dipped down into the oeean, where a boat awaited him to bring him back. Apollo was the most beautiful of the gods, as befitted the giver of light and happiness, and was worshiped throughout those sunny lands of the South. On the Island of Rhodes, off the coast of Asia Minor, stood one of the Seven Wonders of the World, a statue of Apollo. It was known as the Colossus of Rhodes on account of its size, for it was 100 feet high, the fingers of the god being as long as a man. It was placed at the entrance to a harbour, and remained in position for nearly sixty years, and was then (224 B.C.) overthrown by an earthquake.

The principal temples of Apollo were in the Island of Delos, and at Delphi in Greece, and it was at this town of Delphi that the great Pythian Games were held every four years in honour of the god. The games were so called because Apollo was believed to have slain at Delphi a dragon called Python.

The sun’s daily journey, his contest with the darkness, and his final victory at the dawn of the new day are ideas which have led to endless stories, and we find these stories are very similar among different peoples. Ra, the great sun-god of Egypt, was pictured as travelling by day in a ship across the waters of the sky, and returning during the night through the kingdom of the dead. To the Egyptians Ra was a symbol of life, death, and a new birth or resurrection. Through the night Ra fought with the lord of the powers of darkness, a huge serpent, who awaited the sun in the west with a band of demons, and whom he overcame at the approach of dawn. Ra was always represented either as a hawk or as a man with a hawk’s head, with the sun on his head. The hawk was chosen as his symbol, because it was said to fly towards the sun.

In India the sun was worshiped as the god Agni, who rode in a shining chariot drawn by blood-red horses. He was golden-haired, and had a double face, seven tongues, and seven arms.

Among the gods of the early British who were driven into Ireland was the sun-god Nudd, or Ludd, as he was sometimes called. His name appears in Ludgate, and it is thought that his temple stood on what is now Ludgate Hill in London. At a town called Lydney, in Gloucestershire, the remains of a temple to Ludd have been found, with many inscriptions containing his name.

The Angles and Saxons imagined the sun to be carried in a chariot driven by a maiden named Sol, as we shall read later. They had no god whom we can describe exactly as a sun-god, but several of their gods were like the sun in many ways, particularly Frey, whose sword sent out rays of light like the sun, and who caused the crops to ripen, and Balder the Beautiful, the God of Light, who was the favourite son of Odin, father of the gods, and was, as his name shows, the most handsome of the gods, ever happy and light-hearted. His golden hair and his bright, clear eyes shone like the sun, and his radiant smile warmed the hearts of all who met him. He knew no thought of evil, but was “good and pure, and bright, was loved by all, as all love light”.

In spite of his lovable nature, however, Balder was destined to misfortune through his twin brother, Hodur, the God of Darkness, who was the exact opposite of his brother, for he was gloomy and silent, and suffered from blindness. Odin, through his great wisdom, knew that disaster was to come to Balder, and spared no effort to stave off the evil day, by making all things in creation swear that they would never harm the God of Light. This they were only too ready to do, and all made a solemn vow, with the one exception of a shoot of mistletoe, which was passed over as being too slight a thing ever to cause harm to anyone. Balder being now free from all possibility of hurt, the gods one day amused themselves by shooting and throwing at him, laughing gaily as the objects they threw fell short or turned aside. Now Loki, the God of Fire, was bitterly jealous of the God of Light, and, as he watched the sport, his evil nature prompted him to a cruel and cowardly deed. Having discovered that the mistletoe alone of all created things had made no promise, Loki hastened to the gate of Valhalla, where the mistletoe was growing and plucking it, by the help of his magical power quickly fashioned from it an arrow. He then returned and sought out Hodur, who, because of his blindness, was standing idly aside and taking no part in the sport. Loki pretended to take pity on him, and fitting the arrow to a bow which he placed in Hodur’s hands, he offered to aim the shaft for the blind god. Aided by Loki, Hodur let fly the fatal arrow, and, to the horror and amazement of the gods, Balder fell dead. The anger of the gods against Hodur knew no bounds, and they would have killed him had it not been for their own law, which forbade the shedding of blood in Asgard, the home of the gods. All Asgard was plunged in the deepest grief, and Hermod, the messenger of the gods, was sent to Hel, the Goddess of the Underworld, praying her to restore Balder to life. Hel consented to do so, on condition that all created things should weep for Balder. Messengers were at once sent out over all the world to bid all things weep for Balder. Living creatures, trees, and flowers, and even the stones shed tears for the god they had loved so well; but at last a giantess was found whose only reply to the messengers was “Let Hel keep what she has”. Thus the evil Loki, for he it was in the disguise of a giantess, showed once again his cruel hatred of Balder, and caused the whole earth to mourn the loss of the radiant God of Light.

The gods now prepared for the burial of Balder. As was the custom among the Northmen, fuel was piled on the deck of Balder’s ship Ringhorn, and the body was then laid on the funeral pyre. The sides of the ship were decorated with rich cloth and garlands of flowers, and swords, armour, drinking-vessels, and many other things which the gods valued, were placed beside the hero. A torch was then put to the fuel, and the ship was launched. The funeral pyre floated slowly towards the west, the rising flames lighting up sea and sky, until at last, like the sun itself, it sank slowly into the sea, and all light faded from the sky

A Good Sunday or Monday to You

Yesterday was the 4th anniversary of my mom crossing into the Summerlands. It’s a day I use for self-reflection and a no electronic devices day. So I apologize for the regular daily posts not being up.

This is the start of another wonderful week for us to share. Now that I have doing some of the regular daily posts down I will be going back to posting some other things WOTC is know for such as daily corresponds, spells, divination, etc. Please do not expect me to be posting all of them every day. I am going to do a one or two at a time until I’m comfortable putting up the information and than proceed to one or two more until I’m comfortable finding the information and posting it for you to read.

Custom Planetary Positions has gotten their clock fixed so the time soon for GMT in a post is the time it really is!

I am also still looking for a current Moon Phase website for the Southern Hemisphere but being in the Northern one is making it a little more of a challenge. I could really use some help from someone living in the Southern Hemisphere to find a website similar to the one we now use which ic Moongiant.com. Tapping Into Tarot for Self Improvement

Forget fortune-telling, tarot has many more applications as we’ve suggested previously in Uses for Tarot Cards. In this post, we’re going to focus on using the cards for self improvement and learning how to apply them to strengthen your optimism and resilience. Two qualities we all need to live life fully.

We’re going to give you two exercises, which you can do in order, or just pick the one you like. There are no rules.

Grab Your Tarot Deck

Firstly, of course, you need a tarot deck. It’s completely up to you which one you use. Just make sure the images speak to you. The idea is to let them open up new possibilities and to help you extend your thoughts and emotions. If the artwork doesn’t appeal to you, it’s not going to help. Pen and paper will also be necessary.

August 14th Birthday Horoscope

August 14 Zodiac Sign Is Leo

Birthday Horoscope Of People Born On August 14

AUGUST 14 birthday horoscope predicts that you are likely to be complicated, Leo. You are strong, but with others, you are a force to be reckoned with. You are an emotional person but you seem to capture the attention of others, and they want to be around this magnificent lion. This is one person you will not like to mess around with.

If it is necessary to perform menial tasks, you will do so but grudgingly. It is typical of the August 14 birthday personality to leave work undone if they cannot find anybody to do the work they do not want to do.

However, put the same Lion a position of authority, and you have a proud leader. If this position additionally serves a purpose, then the lion is most satisfied.

It is not easy to upset or to disturb the natural calmness of an August 14th person, but when it happens, the lion is not to be underestimated. Things can get out of hand when the lion is angered. You sometimes like to show off in public.

However, the August 14th birthday astrology warns that you should not depend on others and should stay out of other people’s business. With your image on display and under the microscope, you should be careful to take care of your reputation.

As someone who is busy as a bee, you are full of dreams. Your plan to make it big drives you to be one active and intensely motivated individual. The August 14th horoscope shows that you would love to have someone to share it with. That someone needs to be able to provide some kind of stimulus to the Lion in question.

They say opposites attract but not in this case. It is the desire of this Leo birthday individual to accompany a partner who has as much influence as he or she has. You will :-)not be happy with weak people.

Why not have the best of both worlds and shine independently and together with your partner as an equal. A combination of smarts and beauty will win the heart of the Lion born on this day. Nonetheless, a disturbed Lion is not a happy one. Do not take this Leo’s kindness for weakness.

The Leo boss born today on August 14, can be difficult to get along with if he or she cannot get any respect from the employees. It is unlikely however because you tend to take care of the people who take care of you. You have a certain way about you that the camera loves.

Ideally, you would do very well in the arts, radio, film or television. There are many rewards associated with these careers as well. You are no stranger to the spotlight as you attract the attention of many people from all walks of life.

Your heart is one the most important organs in the body. The person born on this day should take care of it physically and emotionally, as both can be affected areas of concern. You should exercise regularly and eat right. Stay away from drinks with caffeine and alcohol. A clear mind is so vital to your success as well as a healthy body.

An August 14 zodiac personality is awesome as a one-man band, but with other team members, you thrive and will surely find success in numbers. Emotionally, you are still a driving force that other people seem to find irresistible.

As per the August 14 birthday meaning, characteristically, the lion born on this day is a cool cat. Cool, that is until you upset the sleeping lion. You have many aspirations, but your biggest one is to have someone to share your life with.
