Today’s Runes for July 8 is Wunjo

Stone Runes are most commonly used for questions about the natural world and things beyond human control. Wunjo is the rune of Joy. Since joy is least frequently a solitary emotion, this rune often represents mutual or communal bliss. Wunjo is also seen as a rune of the gods and a rune of perfection, carrying with it the elation that blazes from the creation of a perfect work – perhaps this is the true joy of the gods, that they can create perfection. That aside, this rune does not focus on the struggle for perfection or on our inevitable imperfections, but rather on a job well done and the satisfaction that comes from it.

Good Saturday Morning, my dear, dear friends!

Good Morning Images, Quotes, Comments, Graphics
Good Morning to all my dear friends! I hope you are having a fantastic morning and staying cool. This little guy above is about the way I feel today. We have nine days of temperatures above 100 degrees. Not a drop of rain for a month now, just hot, hot, hot temps. After a while the heat starts to take a toll on a person. According to our weather people (half the time they don’t know what they are talking about, lol!), today is suppose to be our last day in the 100’s for a few days. I think tomorrow is suppose to be 95 and that will feel like a cold snap has come through, lol!

I shouldn’t complain, I am more fortunate than some. I think about those poor people around Washington, D. C.  No power, no A/C, they can’t even turn on a fan to beat the heat. They must be miserable. I feel so sorry for them. I pray their power will be restored soon and their lives can get back to normal.

There are so many in need in this country right now. We can’t forget those people in the West that are battling the wildfires. All the firefighters risking their lives daily. Plus all the homeowners that have lost everything. My heart truly breaks for them. I can’t imagine getting up one morning, everything perfectly normally. Then there is a knock on the door, a person telling you to grab what you can, you have to leave. You get in your car, as you look back, your house has already started going up in flames. Everything you have worked your entire life for, gone in a matter of minutes. Oh Goddess, how horrible.

With there being so much need in this country right now. Will you take a moment today to say this prayer with me and light a candle, please.

O dearest Goddess, Mother of the green

Earth, blue waters and the silver Moon,

please be with us now in our hour of

need. Stress, confusion and chaos have

take hold of our lives, and we can feel

the weight of life’s burdens suffocating

us. We are truly afraid, but we know that

You in all Your loving kindness will hear

us now, and we will feel the heavy weight

getting easier to bear.

O dearest God, Father of the dark forests

and shimmering mountains, grant us

your spiritual strength that we need so

much now, so that we may come through

this time of crisis and get back to our

normal life once again.

Blessed Be!

July 3 – Daily Feast

July 3 – Daily Feast

We are always rich when we have courage. It is not the circumstance in which we find ourselves but how we handle it that makes the difference. If nothing ever challenged us we might not know our strength – we might never feel the power to overcome something that gives us courage to tackle another O at li, mountain. Giving up does not come on us suddenly, but we cultivate it on a daily basis. Everything, success or failure – or even mediocrity – settles on us as we get ready for it. When we think and talk failure, it happens. When we think we can do something, we can do it. It takes as much effort to lose as it does to win – sometimes more. But to think courage, to think strength, is the breath of life.

BEING CALLED TO A PARTICULAR DEITY

I recall someone talking about a feeling of being called to a given deity, and

how to know this was for real, and how to go about making it Signed and

Official(tm) and all that . . . I thought I’d give out with few (yeah, right)

words as to my own experiences this way.

I’m pretty much a believer in the notion that a person is best served by

following their natural inclinations on some ways.  I found my own Craft name

this way — I just sort of waited until I found the “right” name.  I waited

until I got a handle on what I was like at that time (it may change in the

future) and at that point, saw the name as the proper noun that described what I

was, the word for my inner nature.

It’s not a name in any but the most basic sense — a description of what I *am*.

It’s no more a “chosen” name that an apple “chooses” to be called an apple.

It’s simply the name we have for the thing.

Finding a deity figure is similar, and the one that fits you is often different

from time to time.  Don’t look for one that you like and say, “I want to

dedicate myself to that one.”  Look inside yourself and see what’s there — and

don’t lie or hide anything.  Honesty is needed here.  Know yourself, and then

see if you can find a deity matchup for what you see.  This is what I mean by

seeing what your own natural inclinations are and then going with them.

Oftentimes, the deity will just sort of fall into place with no effort, like a

dewdrop rolling off a leaf.  It just finds the proper time and bango — it

happens.  Very zen, actually.  This is similar — if you relax and just know

yourself, the deity will fall into place with no effort. Well, enough effort to

read books and research so that you’ll be able to know him or her when you see

them.  But research isn’t effort — it’s fun!

My own deities are a bit odd — the moirae from the Mycenean/Greek pantheon are

good, as is the Minoan god Kouros.  (Never let it be said that your deity has to

be the same gender!)

Anyway, the only advice I can give you is to know yourself and then when you see

your deity you’ll recognize him or her as the right one. Choosing one that isn’t

a good fit is a bad idea

June 12 – Daily Feast

There is an undercurrent that feeds us false impressions like a gentle trap that tells us we are doing right – because it feels right. Feelings are so easily manipulated they can’t be trusted as a measure in anything. We stay with bad habits because it feels right. The habit comforts our feelings and the familiar touch makes us believe we can’t give it up. But it is the path that winds back through the same experiences – almost like being lost in a jungle. We think we are on the right road out, until we find our own footprints going around and around. Whether it is a habit or a person, or a situation we are trying to escape, we have to know our feelings are not to be trusted. They keep us knocking on a door that seems like home but is simply the same stopping-off, na hna I, familiar place. Beware of feelings that deceive.

It has been said that there is no deceit in touching the pen to sign a treaty, but I have always found it full of deceit. ~

Daily OM for June 12 – Roles of Support

Doing Our Best Work

by Madisyn Taylor

Each one of us is very much needed and we all have our role to play adding to the success of the whole.

In the great symphony of life, we all have important parts to play. While some people are best suited to be conductors or soloists, their contributions would be diminished considerably without the individual musicians that lend their artistry to the fullness of an orchestra. The magical accents of the percussion section might sound random and out of place without the music they accompany. But any one member of an orchestra, doing less than their best at their particular part, can destroy the harmony of the whole piece, such is their importance. So although we may not receive the same amount or quality of attention as another, all of our contributions are valuable and integral to the success of the whole.

When we do our tasks well, we infuse them with our unique energy, making each act a gift. Each of our personalities and talents are suited to different roles of support. Even leaders and star performers support others in their own way. We can look around us at any moment to see that while we nurture some people with our work, others are supporting us with their gifts. Doing any job from this place within us allows us to do our part with humility and gratitude, while also learning lessons that move us steadily toward our goals.

When we can be fully present in every job that we do, we bring the fullness of our bodies, minds and spirits to the moment. Our contribution is enhanced by the infusion of our talents and abilities, and when we give them willingly, they attract the right people and circumstances into our experience. Anything we do begrudgingly limits the flow of our energy and closes us off from the good that is available to us in every situation. But by giving the best in us to make the world around us better, we open ourselves to receive the best from the universe in return.

BANISHMENT STIRRING SPELL

If you need to banish something from your life, prepare a pot of soup.
Draw a banishing pentagram in the soup, then stir nine times counterclockwise, saying:
“Blessed Lord, gracious Lady, hear my plea.
Remove (insert what needs removal) from me.
For the good of all, with harm to none;
once this is eaten, the spell is done!” Eat the soup.

Create Your Own Magical Tools

Author: Beverly Hill

Practitioners of magic know the value of having a finely crafted magical tool for spell work. Learn how to create your own magical stave or wand.

The decision to create a wand or stave should not be made impulsively. Each magical tool must have a clear purpose behind its creation. A wand, for instance, is a focusing tool for drawing in and directing magical energy. A stave’s purpose could be similar, or it might consist of a more protective nature used for radiating protective energies around it’s wielder. Whatever the purpose, the magical tool should be constructed in a respectful manner.

Selecting Wood For Crafting Magical Tools

The choice to use live or dead wood is a hotly debated topic amongst many practitioners of magic. Some would say that you should never use live wood, while others would contend that dead wood lacks any energy to lend toward a magical working. Ultimately the decision to use live or dead wood will lie with the tool wielder’s own beliefs and personal path.

When selecting a wood for creating a wand or stave, take time to review the magical properties of wood species and select one that will be consistent with the type of magic the wand will be used for. The lunar phase should also be noted. Most new projects should be begun on a new moon and culminate by the full moon.

If collecting from a live tree, ask the tree for permission before making any cuts. Take only enough of the tree to create the desired tool, being careful not to cause any additional damage or trauma to the tree. It is customary to leave a small token or offering in appreciation of the sacrifice.

Creating a Magical Wand or Stave

A good goal for a wand is to have a relatively straight piece of wood that measures from wrist to elbow, and then adjust the size downward from there. Using a piece of fine grain sandpaper, sand off any rough areas along the wood. It is not necessary to remove the bark from the wand, but it may be done if desired.

Once sanded, wipe down the wood with a good mineral or wood oil and then set aside. Each time the wood begins to dry, oil it again and set it aside. It could take several days for the wood to dry from repeated oiling before it finally stops soaking it in. The oiling process helps preserve the wood and keep it from drying out and becoming brittle.

A stave length should be no higher than head height, and may be shortened to whatever feels most comfortable for the practitioner. The stave should be sanded and oiled just as with the wand construction. When the stave or wand is sufficiently dry to the touch, finishing touches may be added such as the carving of runes and symbols, or the mounting of stones.

To seat a crystal into the tip of the wand, choose a crystal that is slightly smaller in diameter than the wood. Carefully bore out a small hole and fill it with gem glue. Insert the largest end of the crystal into the hole and tape it securely until dry. After the glue is dry, remove the tape. From this point wire wrap can be used to better secure the crystal to the wand if desired, or it can be left plain.

During all steps of construction, keep in mind the purpose for constructing a magical tool. Once the wand or stave construction is finished, it can be formally dedicated if the practitioner so desires. Wipe the wood with a fresh bit of oil every few months to help preserve it, and it will last for years to come.

Your Magickal Spell for Wednesday, June 6 – Keep Your Cool Potion

Your Magickal Spell for June 6th

Keep Your Cool Potion

This magick potion helps you beat the heat, whether it’s physical or psychological. The secret ingredient is aquamarine, a pale blue gem whose name comes from the Latin word for seawater.

You Will Need:

  • An aquamarine
  • A chalice
  • Spring water

Best Time To Perform The Spell:  Any time

The Spell:

Wash the aquamarine with mild soap and water to remove any ambient vibrations and/or dirt. Collect the ingredients needed for this spell. Cast a circle around the area where you will do your spell. Place the aquamarine in the bottom of your chalice, then fill the chalice with water.

Swirl the water in the chalice in a counterclockwise direction to charge it, while you chant the following:

“I am healed

In body and mind

Of imbalances

Of any kind.”

Remove the aquamarine. As you drink the potion, imagine you are immersing yourself in a refreshing pool of water to help you keep your cool. Open the circle. Store unused water in the fridge, preferably in a clear glass bottle, and keep some on hand for emergencies.

Additional suggestion:  You can also soak a clean cotton cloth in this magick potion to make a cooling poultice. Lay the cloth on your forehead to ease a headache or over your eyes to soothe eyestrain.

Your Magickal Spell for Tuesday, June 5th – To Remove A Problem From Your Life

To Remove A Problem From Your Life

1.Write your problem on a piece of paper and throw it into a fire.

2.Write your problem down on a piece of paper, dig a hole, place the paper inside with a piece of copper, zinc, and iron and bury it.

3. Write your problem down on the sole of a old shoe. Put the shoe on and stomp on the problem three times. Remove the shoe and burn it in a fire.

A Spell to Break The Powers of a Spell

If you believe that a spell has been cast against you, place a large black candle in a cauldron (or a large black bowl). The candle must be tall enough to extend a few inched above the cauldron’s rim. Affix the candle to the bottom of the cauldron with warmed beeswax or the drippings of another black candle so that it will not tip over.

Fill the cauldron to the rim with fresh water, without wetting the candle’s wick. An inch or two of the candle should remain above the water. Deep breathe, meditate, clear your mind, and light the candle. Visualize the suspected spell’s power as residing within the candle’s flame. Sit in quiet contemplation of the candle and visualize the power flowing and growing with the candle’s flame (yes the power against you). As the candle burns down, its flame will eventually sputter and go out as it contacts the water. As soon as the flame has been extinguished by the water, the spell will be dispersed.

Break your visualization of the spell’s power; see it explode into dust, becoming impotent.

Pour the water into a hole in the ground, a lake or stream. Bury the candle. It is done.

Your Magickal Spell for Friday, June 1st – Cord Love Spell

Cord Love Spell

You will need – 3 Cords of equal length in Pastel Colours.

Braid the cords together.

Firmly tie a knot near one end of the braid thinking of your need for love.

Tie another knot a little further down & keep tying knots, until you have tied seven knots.

Wear or carry the cord with you until you find your love.

Once you have found your love, burn the cord & throw the ashes into a moving body of water.

True Love Powder

True Love Powder

This is a very ancient formula. Some recommend mixing it in food or water, as a love philter. Mistletoe has toxic properties–perhaps this is taking too much of a chance with romance. However, grind dried elecampane, mistletoe and vervain into a fine powder.

*Sprinkle the powder around the bed

*Use it as drawing powder

*Decorate an altar

*Dress a candle

*Carry it in a charm bag

If your heart is set on that love potion, a safer and perhaps even more powerful method of drawing on the powder of the herbal blend is to substitute the flower essence remedies made from each plant. Add a few drops of each to champagne or sparkling water.

Daily Motivator for May 24th – The greatest success

The greatest success

You don’t have to be famous to be important. You don’t have to be a celebrity to be successful.

You don’t have to live in opulent luxury to be rich. You don’t have to be irresponsible to be free.

You don’t have to be outrageous to be creative. You don’t have to be abusive to be impressive.

You can be quietly humble and still be amazingly effective. You can be kind and considerate and still have great influence.

Just because people don’t fall at your feet and worship you, doesn’t mean you are a failure. Quiet success is just as sweet as loud, flamboyant success, and usually much more real.

Success is what you choose for it to be, not what everyone else says it must be. Live your life in each moment in a way that truly fulfills you and brings value to your world, for that is the greatest success.

She’s Been Waiting

She’s been waiting
She’s been waiting, waiting.
She’s been waiting so long.
She’s been waiting for her children
To remember, to return.

Blessed be, and blessed are,
The lovers of the lady.
Blessed be, and blessed are,
The mother, maiden, crone.
Blessed be, and blessed are,
The ones who dance together.
Blessed be, and blessed are,
The ones who dance alone.
She’s been waiting, waiting.
She’s been waiting so long.
She’s been waiting for her children
To remember, to return.

Blessed be, and blessed are,
The ones who work in silence.
Blessed be, and blessed are,
The ones who shout and scream.
Blessed be, and blessed are,
The movers and the changes.
