Nighttime vs Daytime When Working Spells

Merry Meet :)))

I’ve been giving you lots of spells to work with lately. We know to work with the moons cycles when casting spells, and how the the planetary alignment can influence the energy that we raise. Another point on casting spells is the time of day that you cast it. So today I wanted to delve into that a bit with all of you for those of you who may not be familiar, as casting spells during the appropriate time of day can help contribute to the effectiveness of your spell as well.

Nighttime: As the Moon is out at night, nighttime energy is more feminine in nature. It’s a time when the veil between the worlds is the thinnest. Spells worked at night should be more personal and emotional in nature. You are appealing to the Mother Goddess. 🙂 An example of a spell during this time would be one to connect with the Goddess, spells to do with love, relationships, etc. Midnight would be the most powerful time to cast these types of spells.

Daytime: Since the Sun is out during the day, the energy would be more masculine during this time. This time is better spells that are more active and energetic, may require strength or aggressiveness. Some examples of spells to work during the daytime would be ones that pertain to business, money, motivation or groups. High Noon would be the best time to cast these types of spells.

Magickal timing: Choosing the right day of the week for your spell

Planetary magick is a complex system which blends astrology, ancient cosmology, and celestial intelligences in an attempt to bring the most effective results. In this article, we’ll discuss the planetary rulers of the seven days of the week, and the best day to perform different types of magick.

Planetary magic can seem cumbersome, especially to Witches more accustomed to elemental (Earth) magic.  But you don’t have to spend hours drafting talismans or poring over charts to add some planetary flavor to your spellwork. Using a very simple overview of magickal timing, you can make sure your working is aligned with the appropriate planetary ruler.

The idea of planetary rulership (and the 7-day week) dates all the way back to Chaldean (Babylonian) astrology.  They assigned a planet to rule each day, and further divided the day into planetary hours.  Later, the Greek and Roman civilizations adapted the Babylonian calender for their use.  Planetary magic was re-discovered by the medieval magicians, who looked to the Classical world for inspiration.  The tradition of using different days for different types of magic was put forth in the 16th-century Key of Solomon, a foundational text of the Western magical tradition.

Engaging All Five Senses in Spellwork

Spellwork is the practice of bringing the possible into reality whether the spells are for better health, a new job, or tastier garden tomatoes. All of these goals, and most others, work on the principle that the worker uses their own will to shape reality, and because of this, the worker uses their own will to shape reality, and because of this, the worker must be able to form a clear picture of the intended outcome. You can’t create what you can’t imagine so the more clearly the goal is identified, the more likely the desired outcome. Engaging all of our senses in spellwork can help us define that goal and give it aspects that appeal to our need to interact with something to prove to ourselves it is real. Additionally, sometimes we need to define goals that aren’t concrete, but rather involve abstractions such as emotions and memories. Such goals can be hard to represent, but by using our other senses, we can find representation for them, and manifest even the most abstract goals into reality.

While visualization is a much praised and important part of spellwork, each of our four other senses has the potential to connect us to our spellwork in deeper and more intense ways. Human beings are primarily visual creatures, but that does not mean that the visual sense is the strongest for everyone. Nor does it mean that our other senses have less to offer. Many of us already use cues for our other senses in ritual; a drumbeat or music in the background, incense in the Air, cakes and ale. However, we don’t always bring these elements into the spellwork itself. We can use smells, tastes, sounds, and textures in spellcraft to create a deeper link with the magick as well as a more complete representation of the desired result.

For instance, smells provide a powerful trigger for memory and emotion. As an example, you can improve a spell to relieve insomnia by using the smell of fresh linen, applying the scent to a small sachet tucked into your pillow. The scent becomes another part of the spell whether it’s the use of baby powder in a sachet meant to aid in fertility or using a vial of oil as the focus for a calm flying spell.

We can also use scents to bring a spell to mind again after the casting, strengthening the magick or its effect on you. Additionally, spells that you can taste can have a huge impact on the body, and make a great vehicle for workings such as health spells or other purposes involving the body. The sense of touch plays a large role in our interaction with others, but is also the medium through which we interact with and manipulate the world. When we think of something as material, we think of being able to touch it; therefore, giving a texture and feel to the goals of our spellwork lends a quality of realism that brings them closer to manifestation.

Smell

Taste and smell are closely linked, but they do have different aspects. Smell is very portable, something you can wear to continually remind yourself of your spellwork. Spells for courage, confidence, and other emotion-linked outcomes can be kept close, and when something is worn on your skin, it becomes a part of you. A vial of oil used as the focus for a calming spell can be a great way to get through a long flight, and the scents we use in our home can be integrated into protection and cleansing spells for when the place needs a quick touch-up.

However, you can also use scents to evoke memory and, through that memory, the results you wish to attain. Drawing on memories of a loved ones, for example, can strengthen spells for that person, aid in contacting a loved one who has passed on, or help you access emotions tied to those memories. Emotions can be particularly hard to define in spellwork, but the way a result make us feel can be an important aspect of the working. In this way, finding the right scent to produce that emotion can make your goal more solid, bringing it just a little further into reality.

Taste

While made up largely of smell, taste has different useful properties— just ask any kitchen witch. For instance, it can provide a particularly useful vehicle for health spells, either through using food as a focus for your spell and then using that food to season others, or by ingesting edible oils or foods during the spell itself. We often speak of things so close we can almost taste them, and this literally allows us to give a taste to our desired results by linking them to something we can experience through our senses. For instance, a spell integrated into your favorite vinaigrette can turn your lunchtime salad into a working to help lower your blood pressure. The taste becomes associated with the spell itself, and each time you taste it, you refresh the spell’s influence.

Tastes can also conjure up feelings of home and comfort and family. After a bad day, some tastes have the power to comfort us, or pick up our mood. You can tap into this natural power with magic, or use it to strengthen your magic.

Hearing

We readily acknowledge that our sense of hearing has power over us, but we often don’t realize how much. A drumbeat simulating an increasing heart rate can create feelings of tension and anxiety, while we all find certain music soothing or energizing. We can use this effect on our emotions in spellwork as a means of representing our goals, both concrete and abstract. A spell to calm anxiety, for example, may incorporate a drumbeat with an increasing cadence, which you then incrementally slow. Not only does it replicate the results that you’re looking to be able to reproduce, but it pulls them from potential into reality.

You can also play the sounds back later, helping to remind you of the spell and its intended effects. Moreover, linking the spell and the sound makes the sound a part of the spell . Every time you listen to the sound, it triggers the same process and the results are now something you can hear and with which you can interact.

Additionally, using sounds in rituals can take on many forms, from music that encompasses the emotional message you wish to create to simple sound effects that simulate your reaction to the desired result.

Touch

Despite being the one we most use to interact with the world, touch is perhaps the most underrated sense. In the material world, we use it to manipulate objects, to create desired results, much as spellworkers use their wills to create magical results. For this reason, touch can be a tremendous help to spellwork , though it may require stepping outside of our general perceptions in order to use it effectively. Having a book in one’s hands feels a certain way, and you would recognize a book in your hands even if you couldn’t see it . In the same way, we can use our sense of touch to give texture, depth, and solidity to our spells. Often, we judge more real that which we can touch. Giving texture to our workings, and the results for which we’re aiming, creates in us a sense of realism that establishes it firmly in our minds as real, material, touchable.

While you can use any texture, it is best to use as a focus or a material something that reminds you of the goal. You probably wouldn’t use rough burlap for a sleep sachet or fragile cotton to represent protective armor . It’s also important to be inventive when it comes to touch. Water has a feel all its own when you submerge your fingertips in it, and the feel of still water is completely different to that of moving water, but both lend reality to a working and create a certain feeling within us.

Sight

While I have been touting the use of other senses, visualization remains a very important part of spellwork. Being able to visualize a result brings it closer to reality, but augmenting that with information for your other senses completes the experience, making it more than just a picture. If you can represent the emotional content with sound or touch or smell, if you can create a complete an in-depth representation of your result, you are much closer to reaching that goal.

Even if you can’t create a perfect image in your mind, the other senses can help fill in the blanks left by visualization. Smells, sounds, and textures allow you to expand that picture, and the more real you make it, the more real it is.

—————–

When all five senses are engaged in our spellwork, we are taking steps toward bringing our goal a deeper sense of reality. While different senses may be more or less suited to different types of spells, all spells benefit from this added realism. When we can vividly imagine our results in detail, they are already closer to being manifest . Using each of our senses, and finding ways to combine them, can make our spellwork more powerful, add depth to the representations of our goals, and add power to our workings. Combining hearing, smell, taste, and touch with sight allows us to imagine it in greater detail and to put more power behind it.

A Gorgeous Ritual for Tonight’s Magic

  1. Light any of these aromas Carnation, Honeysuckle, Jasmin, Mint, Rose, Strawberry or Vervain in an incense stick, burner, or essential oils diffuser to tune into Taurus’ energies.
  2. Use the following chant to call upon the qualities of the bull:

“I persistently move in the direction of my goal.
I am practical, independent, and devoted as a bull”

Visualize yourself closing that chapter. Have you let anyone in your life that you wish would go away? Write their name outside the circle. It’s time to work on cleaning up the clutter. Has someone been bothering you? Write their name outside the circle. Be firm and draw your boundaries with them.
  5. The following gemstones are especially receptive on Fridays: Rose quartz, Aventurine, Emerald, Jade, Pink Tourmaline, Peridot. Place the crystal on your altar next to your candle.
  6. When you have written down everything that you want to let go, light the paper using the candle flame and let it burn safely inside your cauldron, an ashtray, or any fireproof container.

The Truth About Prosperity Spells

I get emails like this, daily: “Rose, HELP! I’m in serious debt… can you give me a money spell that can help?”

Most people who send emails like this are looking for an easy way out. If you could sit down, light a few candles, say a chant, and attract a surge of prosperity… everyone would be financially independent.

Magick doesn’t work that way, despite what many people will try to tell you. (Especially if they are trying to sell you something.)

Here’s how Magick can work for prosperity: if you work a prosperity spell properly, it helps focus your mind and spirit on your goal… helps you to really believe your desire is possible… and gives you the confidence to go after it. Many of these changes occur on a subconscious level… and it may seem like any prosperity just “happened”. The reality is, it’s all you.

Now that you understand the truth about how, and why prosperity spells can work… here’s one of my favorite’s you can try on your own whenever you wish.

It blends the mystical beliefs of 2 ancient cultures to create prosperity energy. Combine this energy with your desire, focus, and emotion… and you can achieve whatever you wish.

Thoughts on Black Magick

Thoughts on Black Magick by Sylvana SilverWitch

article

Glendower: I can call spirits from the vasty deep.
Hotspur: Why, so can I, or so can any man; But will they come when you do call for them?
Shakespeare, Henry IV, Part 2

Black magick, the black arts, the left hand path_ the words conjure a reaction, a chill, raise the hair on the nape of your neck. I invariably imagine zombies, the voodoo walking undead or secret virgin sacrifices. I think, too, of dolls with needles stuck in them for malicious revenge spells, of death, injury and illness.

First, let’s examine magick; what is it precisely? There are numerous interpretations, and each person you ask will have their own. My favorite definition of magick is that of S.L. MacGregor Mathers, one of the founding members of the Golden Dawn. He characterizes magick as: “The Science of the Control of the Secret Forces of Nature.” I do like to commune with those secret forces, and to fancy I might have some influence, however small, over them. Ha, ha, ha!

Another explication is from the famous old grimoire, The Lemegeton, or The Lessor Key of Solomon. It states: “Magick is the Highest, most Absolute, and Most Divine Knowledge of Natural Philosophy, advanced in its works and wonderful operations by a right understanding of the inward and occult virtue of things; so that true Agents being applied to proper Patients, strange and admirable effects will therefore be produced. Whence magicians are profound and diligent searchers into Nature; they, because of their skill, know how to anticipate an effect, the which to the vulgar shall seem to be a miracle.”

Old Uncle Al (Aleister Crowley, pronounced Cro-lee) had another one of the finest: “The Science and Art of causing Change to occur in conformity with Will.” This leaves a lot of room for doing what you please, but Uncle Al was especially big on free will anyway. I believe he would, even now, approve of black magick.

Another one of my favorites is that of a fellow, described by Doreen Valiente, who said in her book An ABC of Witchcraft: “Black magick can be defined as what the other fellow does!” Isn’t that the truth!? I have listened to this from a lot of people, who really can’t tell you what black magick would be – except a spell to kill someone – and I asked lots of people this question! They can’t describe it themselves, but it’s what “So and so” does! They know it when they see it!

When I sat down to compose this article I speculated, what would people want to apprehend about black magick? I would want to understand – what is it specifically? This is not always simple to define, the edges are blurred in some cases.

So, what actually is black magick? Is it all of these, or any of them? According to the Encyclopedia of Witches and Witchcraft: “Magic is variously described as white, black and gray, but actually it has no color. Magic is neutral and amoral. It can be bent to good, evil or ambiguous purposes, depending on the intent of the practitioner.” “The distinction between white and black magic is fairly modern,” according to occultist A.E. Waite, “and depends upon sharp contrast between good and evil spirits.”

According to certain people, there is apparently no such thing as “black” magick. Other people have differing opinions, like The Modern Witch’s Spellbookby Sarah Lyddon Morrison has a whole section, along with the charms and talismans, love spells and potions, that describes black magick and its applications. It is complete with specific spells: “to torment, but not permanently injure,” or like “punishing a faithless lover,” or “to cause a lot of agony,” and “how to make a marriage unhappy.”

Wait, there’s more: “To maim and kill,” and detailed instructions on “how to dig up a coffin” to get your hands on some coffin nails (presumably for other weird spells). To Sarah’s credit, the chapter on black magick includes a segment about ethics and contains plenty of admonitions about what not to do, and how you should never render black magick in haste. It goes on to caution you about what happens if you’re not positively certain about your victim or whether they actually did what you think they did, or deserve the results your efforts.

So, I guess it’s okay with her, as long as you heed the instructions – this seems to be the theory of quite a few people outside the Northwest. Speaking of the Northwest, I have discovered that people here are inclined to be a bit more conservative (or politically correct), than they are ordinarily.

When I began in the Craft, it was much more permissible to use your art for advantage or protection or even for retribution: the sort of things that are, today, considered by many to be black magick. This whole thing about the politically correct manner in which to do magick, or whether it’s okay to work magick at all – positively annoys me! I say, “What variety of witch doesn’t practice magick?” I have known a number of them here in the Seattle area. Hmmmmmmm. Maybe that’s one of the distinctions between “Wiccans” and “Witches” – I am a Witch, with a capital “W.” I am not, however, a Wiccan, and that’s okay.

I remember when the domain of the witches was just that, the dark side. We were outside the edges of society anyway, and we knew we had power and we weren’t afraid to use it. People came frequently to implore me to work a spell for them: to bring back an errant lover, to get a particular job, to get back at a person who had harmed them. I usually sent them away with instructions on how to resolve the situation themselves, though in certain circumstances it was acceptable to do the spell for them. What happened? Why is it not okay anymore to exercise your power? Why has the Craft become so boringly P.C.?

“The driving force behind black magic is hunger for power.” So says Richard Cavendish in The Black Arts, one of the first books about magick that I bought when I was about sixteen, thinking that “this must be what it is.” Cavendish also says, “The magician sets out to conquer the universe. To succeed he must make himself master of everything in it – evil as well as good, cruelty as well as mercy, pain as well as pleasure.” This makes sense, right? According to almost everyone that I have talked to, those who have been in the Craft for over 10 years, they all started out in search of power. Or at least that’s what they thought at the time. Many began by practicing black magick and proceeded logically, after getting their butts kicked (proverbially or not), to the Craft as we now know it and what they ended up finding is their own power.

When I was younger, and did not know any better – I, too, believed any magick that would work was great. If you could get someone to do what you wanted or to fall in love with you, or whatever, you were a clever witch. It is much easier to do what is now referred to as black magick when you’re young; you frequently have a lot of emotion invested in it, so there’s no wonder a neophyte might be successful with it.

My personal definition of black magick, if there is such a thing, about which I am still ambiguous, is: working magick that is meant to hurt, harm or to cause the loss of free will or to hinder someone else or a situation. Further, it can be just pulling on someone’s energy without his or her permission, and knowledge. Sometimes this is not done maliciously or mean-spiritedly, for instance working love magick to get a specific person, or healing a person who maybe needs the rest that illness provides. So in my opinion, you should be very careful. It works – it works well so you better be very sure! There is so much negativity floating around in the atmosphere that it’s easy to gather that up and direct it without much effort or skill. Should you do it? I can’t tell you that, but I don’t recommend doing anything questionable unless you really know what you’re doing and are absolutely willing to suffer the consequences of the threefold law of return. Because the problem is, it will come back to you, and you should be ready to have your butt kicked by it.

In my class, I teach that there’s no color to magick, that it all just is and it’s a matter of the intent that creates the Karma. I do my best now to avoid situations that might get me into a position where I’d be inclined to have to use my magick in such a way. I also teach my students personal responsibility, and I practice it myself. I would hope that all grown-up witches would do the same. That is the secret, in my opinion. There are not many people willing to take responsibility for themselves and their actions. I have heard many people complain about this and that, and how they wish it would be different to accommodate them. I say stop complaining and do something for yourself! Use magick if you will and remember to be mindful of your intent!

Spell To Assist In Readings and Divination

Items You Will Need:

White candle

Whatever tools you use for divination, such as tarot cards, runes, crystal ball, etc.

Not every form of divination works for every Witch. Sometimes it take trial and error to discover which one work the best for you. If you are having a hard time seeing clearly, try doing this before attempting a reading. It is also a good one to do if the issue at hand is very important.

If you still have a hard time seeing the answers you seek, you can try having your familiar help by giving them a choice of tarot cards or runes stones, and seeing which one they pick.

You can call on any God or Goddess for this spell. Apollo is used here because he was the patron God of the Oracle at Delphi, probably the most famous center of divination in the ancient world.

Great Apollo
Farseeing and wise
Help me see clearly
As if through your eyes

Bless now these tools
And the one who will see
And send me your vision
Of what is to be

Help me set aside feelings
That get in the way
So I might see true
In my reading today.

The Rainbow Chant/Song for An Easy Way to Cleanse Children’s Chakras

When my 18-year-old granddaughter was a toddler she liked me to sing her to sleep. She also sneezed if I used White Sage to cleanse her Chakras, so we made up a song/chant to do them as she was going to sleep. We call it the Rainbow Song.

Have the child lay on their stomach, sing/chant each color, the flowing of one chakra to the next and the joining of the child’s chakras to the sky/universe and Mother Earth three times each. Ask the child at each chakra what they think is making it dirty. Incorporate that with getting the dark color of each chakra out. Use your power hand over each chakra to cleanse it.

Then starting with the red root chakra sing/chant, “Dark dirty red out, bright good red in.” (Base of the spine) You can ask the child to pick something that is a shiny red, such as a firetruck, to see in their mind to help bring the clean energy in.

The next chakra is the orange sacral chakra sing/chant, ” Dark dirty orange out, bright good orange in.” (Half way between root chakra and belly button) Ask the child to picture something bright orange, such as a pumpkin, to help bring the clean energy in.

The next chakra is the yellow solar plexus chakra sing/chant,  “Dark dirty yellow out, bright good yellow in.” (Locate over the diaphragm) Ask the child to picture something bright yellow, such as the Sun, to help bring the clean energy in.

Next we have the green heart chakra sing/chant, “Dark dirty green out, bright good green in. (Locate over the heart) Ask the child to think of something bright green like grass or leaves on a sunny day.

Next is the blue throat chakra sing/chant, “Dark dirty blue out, bright good blue in.” (Locate at the throat.) Ask the child to think of something bright blue like a lake or a bright blue sky.

The next chakra is the indigo third eye chakra sing/chant, “Dark dirty indigo out, bright good indigo in.” (Located in the middle of the forehead.) Ask the child to think of something that is very dark blue such as a flower.

Last is the violet or white crown chakra sing/chant, “Drak violet or white out, bright good violet or white in. (Located on the crown of the head.) Have the child think of a bright purple crayon or a white one.

Now starting at the root chakra and going up to the crown chakra sing/chant,” Red joins orange, orange joins yellow, yellow joins green, green joins blue, blue joins indigo, indigo joins violet or white. When doing this part use your power hand and run it up the child’s spine up to the crown of the head in one motion. Do not lift your hand off of child!

Have the child reach their arms above their head as far as they can comfortably reach before you start joining the chakras. Each time you get to the crown chakra sing/chant “The rainbow comes out of the fingers to join the universe!”

Lastly, go down the chakras from crown to root joining them in reverse order of what you did for the Universal joining. Each time you reach the root chakra sing/chant, “The rainbow comes out of the feet to join to Mother Earth!”

By joining the child to the Universe and Mother Earth, you give them a complete connection to everything around them.

One Way to Write a Spell

images (11)

When writing a spell the one thing that will affect it the most is the intent you have when writing and chanting it. There are certain things every spell should have in it. A spell also does not just affect the person casting it but has long-range effects you may never know about. This is why I will never do a spell that affects another person or living thing’s free will, such as a spell to make someone fall in love with a specific person.

You should never cast a spell, even a healing spell, for or on someone without their permission and/or knowledge.

Before casting a spell have what you desire it to do firmly in your mind, even visualize the outcome if you can. This helps the spell be stronger and gives it more chance in coming to fruition.

When writing the spell the things it should include are:

Who – Who is the spell for or who is it going to effect

What – What specifically is the spell for and what do you want the outcome of it to be

When – When do you want the spell to start working – immediately, tomorrow, next week, etc

How – How is the spell suppose to work – is it suppose to bring something to you or send something away?

Where – This can mean 2 things either where you will do the spell or where is the spell suppose to work.

Always ask yourself WHY am I writing this spell? What do I want the end result from it to be? When do I want it to happen? Who do I want it to happen to and how do I want it to happen? If  you are a novice Witch if you copy nothing else from this post into your Book of Shadows please copy the preceding two sentences. It gives you all the parts you need to include in a spell.

Set the candles in a triangle shape large enough so that you can sit in the middle. Light the candles. Write the bully’s name the paper and draw a large X over the name. Fold three times and say:

I bind you (name) so that you cannot hurt me anymore, both physically and emotionally. Get out of my life, leave me alone. I bind you (name). I bind you.

Tie thread around the folded paper and pop it in the jar.

Snuff out the candles and add the stubs to the jar. Screw on the lid.

Hide or bury it away from your property.

How to “Dress” a Candle

Dressing a candle means you are carving specific  runes into it and anointing it with a specific essential oil for a specific spell and/or ritual. You can use Sandalwood if you do not have the essential oil called for. Sandalwood essential oil is a generic oil that can be used for anything. There are some witches they may diagram with me about using the Sandalwood oil for anything. This is fine, I’m going by what I was taught and have read.

To dress a candle to bring something to you, such as money, good health, a new job, etc: Crave your runes starting at the middle and going up. Then using your index finger on your power hand (the one you write with) anoint the candle making a symbol that means spirituality to you, such as a pentagram, cross, circle, etc, starting in the middle working upward make the symbol three times. As you are making each say the spell or invokation you want to empower the candle with. After you have said the spell times end as you would any other spell.

To dress a candle to banish something from your life, such as over eating, smoking, bad love affiar, etc., dress the candle as above EXCEPT from the middle down.

Candle Mediation

Candles are an intricate part of any witches tools as we use them for many things. They come in many shapes and sizes. What type you use is an individual decision.

They can be useful when you are just learning how to meditate.

How to do a candle meditation:

Light a candle, do not stare directly into the flame but kind of over the top of it. Put on some quiet instrumental music or chanting. Empty everything from your mind except the sight of the candle. Take a deep a deep cleansing breath. Then three deep breaths letting them out slowly. After that breath slowly and rhythmically. To begin try to do a 15-minute mediation working up to however long you want it.

After you have been meditating on a regular basis, at least twice a week, it is a good time to get answers from your guides. Ask a question and “listen” for the answer. This might come as a stray thought right away or it may take days. Answers to do come when a ready for them and our guides want to give them to us and it is not always as fast as we would like.

Have a glass of water sitting near you. After you have blown out the candle take three deep breaths letting them out slowly and allow yourself to slowly come back to the room around you. When you feel you have reconnected with your world drink the water and relax for a minute or two before getting up and carrying on with life.

Do not be surprised if the first few times you try to meditate that you fall asleep just make sure you have the candle in a holder that cannot be knocked over and protects the surface it is on from hot wax melting on to it. I suggest using jar candle until you know you won’t fall asleep during meditation. Meditation is not the same as relaxation therapy. The goal is to stay awake when meditating.

to keep my plants healthy from blight.

They will bless my gardens from sunrise to sunrise,

My harvest from, my plants will be my prize.

With your finger from your power hand (the hand you write with) on the green candle you say, “Morrigan I ask you to infuse this candle with your power and energy to help my plants be bountiful and prosper.”

With your finger from your power hand (the hand you write with) on the yellow candle you say, “Green Man I ask you to infuse this candle with your power and energy to help my plants be bountiful and prosper.”

These are my words, This is my will, so mote it be.

Repeat spell three times over both candles except the last line that is in green. That line is only said at the end of the spell.

Mediation to Rid Yourself of Negativity

This is a semi-guided meditation to help you clear the negativity from your mind and Spirit. You should not do this at a time that you will get relaxed and fall asleep before the end of the mediation. This is to relax your mind and body as it helps you to get rid of negativity you may be holding inside. There will be times your subconscious will bring up things you were not even aware of bothering you.

Do not light a candle for this meditation because you eyes will be closed and it could be unsafe.

To do this meditation, pick a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed by anyone or anything for 30 to 45 minutes.

Put on some soft music preferably without words to distract you. I like Celtic Bagpipe and drums or Native American Flutes or Whale songs mixed with classical music or plain classical music depending on the mood I am in.

Light one of these incense sticks of Jasmine or Sandalwood (which can be used as a substitution for any other incenses or essential oil) Any of these will help with mediation and cleaning of negative energy while bring in purification.

After you turn on your music and get in a very comfortable position; find one you so won’t have to readjust yourself to get comfortable once you start. I usually wait for a minute or to two to start after I think I am comfortable just in case my body has other ideas. Once you have that accomplished, take three long, slow, deep breaths it should take a slow count of six or seven as you inhale and a minimum of ten as you exhale. About half way through exhaling each time pick a word to use to help you clear your mind of everyday thoughts which will help you relax. I use the word relax, it is simple, but it tells myself what I am trying to accomplish. Let every part of your body relax completely. I feel myself kind of melting into whatever I am meditating on my bed or Lazyboy with the footrest up of course.  Many people think all meditation should be done sitting up as straight as possible within “Indian” style position (leg folded at the knee in front of you) with hands resting palm up on legs. Again pick a position most comfortable for you to meditate in but not fall asleep during it.

After you feel yourself relax, picture yourself approaching a bridge over a river running rather swiftly with a handful of stones and something to write on them with. Walk to the middle of the bridge then one by one throw the stones into the river. Each stone have something that is bothering is you written on it. As you throw the stones into the river one by one think of the thing that is written on it that you are throwing away. Watch as the river takes the stone and your problem along with it as it rushes away from you under the bridge. After throwing the stone into the river try to not think about what you are trying to let go of anymore. Know that it is now in the hands of the Universe and it will take care of it for you.

After you have thrown the last stone in for this mediation again take three slow, deep breaths allowing yourself to come back to the “real” world slowly. Do not attempt to immediately get up from where you chose to meditate, give yourself a couple of minutes to enjoy the light feeling of riding yourself of negativity. This can be done as often as you feel a need to do it. Also have a glass of water by you and drink it before standing up.

You now need to fill the voids from where the negativity resided in you. To do this ask the Universe or a God and/or Goddess to fill the space with positive, loving energy.

Do not be discouraged or think it won’t work if you have trouble keeping yourself focused on the imagery the first few times you try it as it takes a little practice and patience to do this. Once you can get yourself to the point of not letting the things you have let go back into your mind you will begin to feel more grounded and better in general.
