In the most practical terms, what has traditionally been called the Emperor card represents the highest leadership, a head of state or the most exemplary and powerful person in the realm. This archetypal ruler is responsible for the positive working out of affairs of a society or community, which are directly proportional to his well being and happiness.

The more enlightenment and cosmic perspective this energy brings, the better life is for all. The Emperor archetype masters the world of matter and physical manifestation. When you apply this card to your situation, acknowledge your potentials for mastery. Reinforce a sense of sovereignty within yourself, despite any self-limiting beliefs, habits or appearances to the contrary.

Your Daily Horoscopes for December 11th

We tend to see what’s possible rather than what stands in the way of success now that the Moon is moving through energetic Aries. Our take-charge attitude is reinforced by a dynamic lunar square to exuberant Jupiter. Fortunately, our optimism pays off because the fiery Aries Moon forms a propitious trine with the Sun in inspirational Sagittarius. If we heed a midday reality check and fine-tune our plans, we can be successful in our endeavors.

Aries Horoscope

(Mar 21 – Apr 19)

Your refusal to take no for an answer now motivates you to find an original solution to an ongoing problem. Thankfully, you’re able to sustain a high level of energy today, turning you into a hero at work. However, you must stay fully focused on your goals or you could be tempted to set aside meeting responsibilities in favor of having fun. Don’t give up; the satisfaction you gain by creating something lasting is much more fulfilling than the memory of fleeting pleasure.

Taurus Horoscope

(Apr 20 – May 20)

Conforming to your regular routine can be a real challenge today because your emotions seem to have a life of their own. Your reactions aren’t necessarily rational, especially if friends or coworkers expect you to join them on a social outing. You may think that you don’t have the time for such frivolity, but it might be wise to go ahead and participate anyway. Thankfully, you won’t need to run away from your obligations; they will still be waiting for you when you return. A little joy in your heart serves you well.

Gemini Horoscope

(May 21 – Jun 20)

Talking yourself into going along with the group sounds like a good idea, but you still may modify your plans during the day and end up doing something on your own. Although you could blame your change of mind on the current situation, it’s better to take full responsibility for your decision instead. It’s okay to acknowledge that you’re feeling stifled now and need some immediate action. Fortunately, you don’t have to hold yourself back today, since your spontaneous behavior will likely lead you in the right direction.

Cancer Horoscope

(Jun 21 – Jul 22)

You may be provoked to initiate action at work today by someone who goads you into stepping beyond your normal limits. Even if an outrageous plan sounds enticing, the very idea of doing anything so unconventional might make you feel anxious. Thankfully, you could receive support from the most unlikely sources now. Go ahead and spread your wings and fly; you’ll never know how far you can get if you don’t at least try.

Leo Horoscope

(Jul 23 – Aug 22)

Your optimistic attitude might tempt you to express previously hidden feelings, but saying too much could turn into something you later regret. Take your time and carefully consider your words and actions today before following an impulsive whim. Thankfully, there are many shades of gray, so you won’t have to make an all-or-nothing decision. Don’t go overboard with your disclosure; exercising a bit of caution now is your best strategy to keep the energy moving in a positive direction.

Virgo Horoscope

(Aug 23 – Sep 22)

You’re more restless today than anyone realizes, but you’re doing a good job of hiding your excitement. You may appear to be much more serious than you actually feel. Be careful; if someone close to you is ready for action, you might just cut loose and join in. However, as long as you stay conscious of your obligations, you should be able to slip away for some fun and get back before anyone even notices that you’re gone. A little change can shake things up just enough to be interesting.

Libra Horoscope

(Sep 23 – Oct 22)

You could work yourself up into a state of anxiety today as you compare your ideal fantasies with the realities of the day. You really don’t want to repeat an old routine in the exact same way you did it before. You’re intrigued by doing things differently now, and anything or anyone unconventional is appealing to you. However, just because you can imagine it, doesn’t mean that you should make it real. Using your common sense enables you to enjoy your daydreams without having to experience disappointment later on.

Scorpio Horoscope

(Oct 23 – Nov 21)

Although your day flows pretty smoothly, you may still want more freedom than you have today. Thankfully, your workday could allow you more opportunity for independence, so trying something new makes a lot of sense. Don’t close yourself off to unrealized possibilities before you even explore your options. Muster up an extra bit of courage, take a risk and let others know what you need; you might be happily surprised with the support you receive.

Sagittarius Horoscope

(Nov 22 – Dec 21)

You enjoy having fun and playing games, but the excitement level could end up being a bit too much today, even for you adventurous Archers. Your feelings are inconsistent now, and it might seem as if your attention should be elsewhere no matter what you do. Nevertheless, the lack of stability increases your attraction to the thrill of the uncertainty. Enjoy the buzz while it lasts, for things will begin to settle back down in a couple of days.

Capricorn Horoscope

(Dec 22 – Jan 19)

You might be uncomfortable with the current emotional turmoil, yet nothing you do seems to calm your inner turbulence. You’re better off now to let go and ride the rough waves instead of attempting to resist them and change your direction. Thankfully, your anxiety begins to dissipate once you concentrate on maintaining balance, rather than trying to manage all the variables in your environment at once. Paradoxically, loosening your grip on the future ultimately puts you back in control where you belong.

Aquarius Horoscope

(Jan 20 – Feb 18)

Nothing is as simple as it could be if only you were willing to share your feelings today. Although you may know exactly what you want and where you are going, you might not wish to involve others in your process yet. Your impatience tempts you to jump the gun and impulsively do something foolish now before you have the support of your allies. Move carefully and think twice prior to doing anything rash. Rest assured you have more time than you realize.

Pisces Horoscope

(Feb 19 – Mar 20)

You’re so eager to try something that’s outside your comfort zone today that your sudden actions can take others by surprise. Unfortunately, they may judge you unkindly because of your erratic behavior; they might even accuse you of being immature or irresponsible. Nevertheless, act with confidence and express who you are and what you want. This is your moment of truth, regardless of anyone else’s expectations. The only person you need to please is yourself.

2014 Numerology Predictions – Reaching Our Limits

2014 Numerology Predictions

Reaching our limits

Hans Decoz  Hans Decoz on the topics of numerology, horoscopes, 2014

2014 is the year when we become aware — aware of the destructive nature and the inherent danger that exist in a world of extremes. We will begin to see a trend this year, through all areas of human life, to search for ways to bring us together. There will be people in power who change overnight, and institutions that will reconsider their ideologies, giving us hope … but we will also see the negative forces become more desperate and violent.

The number 7 rules the year 2014 — it is a 7 Universal Year, because 2 + 0 + 1 + 4 = 7. The number 7 is analytical and self-examining. It starts a turnaround as, even the mind, as cold as it is, recognizes that duality doesn’t benefit anyone.

But other numbers play a role too… In the chart below, which breaks down the year 2014, the numbers in the upper half show the positive influences of this 7 Universal Year, which are found by continuously adding the digits in a pyramid-like system. The numbers in the lower half show the negative influences, and are the result of subtracting. They are therefore mirrors of each other. The strongest relationship any one number in this chart has, is with its mirrored partner.

The 9 at the top represents compassion and empathy, while the negative influence of its mirrored partner, the 1 at the bottom, reflects egotism and cruelty. The contrast is obvious and appropriate. The 3 and the 6 in the upper half tell us that art and communication (3), and a deepening sense of responsibility (6) will be the primary channels through which the energy of the 9 flows in 2014, while their mirrored partners, the hostile 1 and the sly 2, oppose them. The 5 represents a big change or shocking and unexpected event around October or November of 2014, caused in large part by miscommunication (the 3 below it).

A matter of extremes

Since the year 2008 — the first year of this current nine-year epicycle that runs through 2016 — we’ve been experiencing an extreme increase in polarization. This schism affects the human race across the globe. Whether political, social, economic, environmental, or religious, our positions tend to be more and more black and white. Gray, the color of compromise, is no longer in-vogue.

Polarization is the quintessence of a climaxing force delivered to us precisely on schedule by this nine-year cycle. It’s a natural, if difficult and painful, part of our evolution. As a species, we are young and immature, given to rebel and push the envelope. We have created long-term instability in our environment, economy, and social structure because we can’t see beyond the desire for instant and superficial satisfaction.

Extremes continue to rule during this nine-year cycle, after which we enter a new nine-year cycle that is dominated by information. The 2017 – 2026 epicycle will see the end of many centuries of long-held secrets. No one will be able to hide then, no institution will be able to hold on to its secrets. Light will shine on everything, and symbolize the most dramatic change in history.

Daily Cosmic Calendar for December 11th

Solving problems is a special keynote of the early hours — courtesy of a trine between Pallas and Pluto in earth signs (6:09AM). Research projects and strategy sessions receive a green light under this harmonious sky pattern. However, later on, avoid mental fatigue since Mercury moves into a 90-degree square with Pallas (4:43PM).  Developing your leadership credentials is a central theme of the current transit of Aries Moon — a theme that began yesterday when the lunar orb entered the first sign of the zodiac. The evening vibes appear promising as the Moon trines the Sun in fire signs (6:15PM) while Mercury forms a supportive, 60-degree liaison with Vesta (10:01PM). While any harmonious tie between the solar and lunar orbs can be a vitality booster, the Mercury-Vesta link-up points you in the direction of increasing the value of your assets and investments. [Note to readers: All times are calculated for Pacific Standard Time. Be sure to adjust all times according to your own local time so the alignments noted above will be exact for your location.]

Calendar of the Moon
11 Ruis/Poseideion

Day of the Underworld II

Color: Grey
Element: Earth
Altar: The altar should be the same as the night before, with the vinegar water replenished if necessary. Something made of rotting flesh should be placed on the altar, for scent.
Offerings: Whatever the Gods tell you.
Daily Meal: Fasting tonight, until the next morning.

Underworld Invocation II

We are the stricken, dying with death,
Shrouded with weeds, wrapped in our loss,
Silent we wait, clouded by tears,
Torn by the wind, ragged with mist.
Where we are wounded
There is no healing.
Where we decay
Nothing is sound.
Ravaged by night, abandoned by day,
Silent we wait, shadows of grey.
Old in our broken houses of flesh,
Old among ruined pillars of Sun,
Old as the halls to which we descend,
Old as this dark that does not end.
Call: Tonight we go under the ground.
Response: Tonight we are as corpses in the Earth.
Call: On this night, and the next, and the next, we are dead.
Response: On this night, we feel our bodies as they rot.
Call: On this night, we praise the worms and the beetles.
Response: On this night, we learn about the grave.
Call: On this night, we learn that Earth is silence.
Response: On this night, we learn that Earth welcomes us home.
Call: Receive us, Guardians of the Gate!
Response: Receive us, Lords of Death!

(All kneel before the altar for a long time, meditating on rot and decay. The chalice is passed, and all take a sip. Then all rise and leave in silence. That night, each should place under their pillow some dried weeds, or a handful of earth from a graveyard, for a reminder.)

Invocation to the Snow Queen

Hail to the Snow Queen, Lady Winter!
Hail to the cloak of white across the fields,
The treacherous ice on the road
That threatens us as we ride,
Creator of beauty on every window,
Sharp icicle that falls with lethal force,
Crystal of fairness that reflects the Sun tenfold,
Bitter winds of death that freeze the body
And free the soul to ride the circling blizzard,
We hail you, Heart of Ice, in this your season!
For you are the cutting edge of survival,
The one who tests us, and our skill.
When we fail to learn the lesson
Of the King of Frost, your consort,
We are left to your tender mercies
And gathered to your deathly white bosom.
Have mercy on us, Lady of the Snow!
Teach us that we must band together for warmth,
And teach us with a lesson less than fatal.

(One comes forth with the chalice of steaming alcohol, and another with the glass knife. The knife is dipped into the iced drink, and touched to the palms of each who will hold theirs out. Then the alcohol is poured out as a libation.)

Today We Take A Look At the Totem, The Dragonfly

Today We Take A Look At the Totem, The Dragonfly

No bird or insect has the flight maneuverability of the Dragonfly. They can twist, turn, change directions in an instant, hover, move up or down, and even fly backwards. The power that dragonfly brings to the tapestry of life is skill. They are experts at what they do and do it relentlessly.

Dragonflies spectacular colors sparkle with iridescence in the sunlight. These colors take time to develop reflecting the idea that with maturity our own true colors come forth.

As newly hatched nymphs, dragonflies live on the bottom of ponds and streams. As they mature and go through metamorphosis they move to the realm

of air. Since water represents the emotional body and air represents the mental, those with this medicine will often find themselves trying to maintain balance between their thoughts and emotions.

Children with dragonfly medicine are often very emotional. They feel things deeply and respond to situations with great passion. As they reach adulthood, and through experience, they learn how to balance their emotions with greater mental clarity and control. This gives them the compassionate quality necessary for any type of work relating to healing or counseling.

Dragonfly has the ability to reflect and refract light and colors and is often associated with magic and mysticism. Just as light can bend and shift and be adapted in a variety of ways, so can the archetypal forces associated with dragonfly. It conveys the message that life is never what it appears to be.

By helping a person see through illusion dragonfly awakens ones true vision. Flying at speeds of up to 30 miles per hour they can spot movement forty feet away. Flying into and around things from different angles, they challenge rigid awareness and prompt the energy of change for anyone who holds this medicine.

Today’s Goddess is Nemesis

Today’s Goddess is Nemesis

Nemesis, Goddess of Retribution and Daughter of the Night

“The hand of Nemesis balances the scales of justice.

She untangles the threads spun by the Fates.

Lift the burden of this problem, great Nemesis.

Guide me to the solution.

If there can be no harmony, separate us from the other.

Untangle my life-thread, Nemesis.

This I do ask with a sincere heart…” (ritual for Nemesis, ‘Moon Magick’ by D.J. Conway)

When Nyx, Mother Night, gave birth to a silver egg in the sea of chaos, this was symbolism for saying that She gave birth to the moon…. From this egg came the daughters of Nyx, one of whom was Nemesis.

Nemesis is known as the Goddess of Retribution and daughter of the Night. In the later patriarchal deity days of Greece She is seen as a monstrous figure of revenge and anger, however in earlier Greece Her nature was more as an abstract force of justice rather than retaliation.

In Greek mythology, Nemesis is portrayed as serious and thoughtful looking woman wearing a silver crown adorned with stag horns. She is often pictured as carrying a wheel of fortune in one hand and an apple bough in the other, with a scourge hanging at Her waist. Nemesis had Her primary sanctuary at Rhamnus, a village in the northern part of Attica. Nemesis was said to be a check on Tyche, Goddess of Fortune and also was said to be an attendant to Themeis, the Goddess of law.

Nemesis is honored in the celebration known as ‘Nemesea’ or the Festival of Nemesis on August 23rd. Because of this celebration, Nemesis is associated with the August full moon, which is commonly called ‘The Corn Moon’.

The Witches Magick for Dec. 11th – Clurichaun Blessing

Clurichaun Blessing

The residents of a house would leave offerings for the Clurichaun, who sing in Gaelic with enchantingly beautiful voices. Related to leprechauns, Clurichaun are house faeries that specialize in caring for and protecting wine and beer cellars. Clurichauns also guard a hidden treasure. In this spell, you are asking the Clurichaun to bless and protect your home.

You need a chalice full of wine (or juice) and your magick wand.

Begin by drawing a magick circle and calling in the elements. With your want in your right hand and the chalice of wine in your left hand, stand in front of the north point of the circle while saying:

Clurichauns and all good house faeries
Protect this home with your energies.

Go around to the east, south, and west points in that order, doing the same thing. Once this is completed, return to your altar and place the chalice of wine on it while saying:

I offer my thanks with this wine
To the Clurichauns this is my sign.
Bless the faeries, always, blessed be!

Thank the Clurichauns, bid farewell to the elements, and pull up the circle. Leave the chalice of wine on your altar overnight, and in the morning pour it into the earth as an offering to the faeries.

Let Talk Witch – The Watchtowers

Let Talk Witch – The Watchtowers

Calling the Watchtowers or calling the quarters is another element of Wiccan ritual that is not found in Traditional Witchcraft. The Watchtowers are another piece of Wiccan ritual that is pull from the Kabalistic magick, though Gardner likely took this right from the OTO. Rather than calling in elementals in this fashion, the Traditional Witch calls in Guardians, spirits of the land that they have some sort of relationship with. This is important, as they are not just random entities called upon for the sake of calling on them, as is often the case in Wiccan ritual.

Guardians can be spirits of the land or Ancestors that the Witch has communicated with or worked with in the past, and whom they know wish to assist and participate in their work. Others will call on spirit guides to act as Guardians. Not all Traditional Witches use Guardians, but those that do choose who they will call on very carefully.

Many people that work in systems other than Wicca who do not have things such as the Watchtowers, view the calling of the Watchtowers to be on par with holding the entities hostage for the ritual because of the way that they are often summoned of “commanded” to be part of the circle and not asked or communicated with previously. In ritual work with the Traditional Witch, there is often no set boundary for the work area, so the spirits and Guardians that are called on for ritual are allowed to roam freely around the person rather than reside in one specific spot.

Today Is Wednesday, Woden’s Day

Today Is Wednesday, Woden’s Day

“Wodanesdag” (Germanic)
“Wodensdag” (Old English)
“Othinnsdagr” ( Old Norse)
“Onsdag” (Danish)
“Wednesday” (English)

Odin/Woden is the Norse God of magic, battle fury, protection, inspiration, shaman ecstasy, consciousness and communication.

If men can accept their female side as Odin/Woden did, women can surely accept their male side. This day is the “hump day” or “half past the week day.” It is a day of balancing physically, mentally and spiritually.

You can accept Odin/Woden as the All-father and the Omnipotent God when you realize that he became more balanced by accepting the intuitiveness, emotions, sensitivity and the wisdom of women. He also considered Frija/Frigg as his equal and consulted her on all important matters. Her advise always weighed heavily in his decisions. Women in Norse mythology, although not as much is written about them as men, were considered equal with men in property, warring, and decisions. Romanization (getting conquered by the Romans) changed the status of women later on. We are still healing from the effects of the Romanization!

The Rune of choice for this day is Ethel (OE), Othala (G), or Othal (ON). This Rune represents the hearth, the home, justice and honoring our ancestors.

More Winter Comments

Goddess Bless You On This Wintery Wednesday Morn’!

I look at the snow gently falling on the ground and it makes me sick (sorry). I don’t believe I have ever seen a gentle snow flake falling gracefully from the sky. In this neck of the woods, we have blizzards, ice, freezing temperature and I know a few I forgot to mention. We have sheets of snows falling down. What use to accumulate over night now takes just a minute or two.  Our temperatures have been in the teens but we are due to another cold front coming through today. I believe I need to move to a warmer climate.

In case you didn’t notice, we have been on and off the net. I did have the good sense to let you know that it might happen. And it did. The ice freeze on the utility lines and after it gets so heavy, down comes the line. We actually sit around and point out which icicle is going to drop and take a line with it. You can tell life is really exciting when you have no internet or TV. Our poor forefathers, I can now understand why they went to bed with the chicken and got up with the Rooster’ crow I can also understand why they has so many large families back then, lol! Well you have to stay warm some how!

Before I run, I want you to know we have another system coming in. If we disappear, our internet or power is out. I would ask that you have patience with us. Just as soon as everything is restored, we will back as normal.

I am off to work now, I have a lot of material to cover. I sort of added some special pieces to the publication to day because the days we have missed.

It looks like it is going to be a long winter. Let’s all find someone to snuggle with and hibernate to Spring arrives, lo!

Luv & Hugs
