A Very Blessed Tuesday Morn’ to all my Family & Friends!


Good morning, FAMILY! How are ya’ll doing this morning? Do I have a captive audience or a snow bound one? I was digging around in the Spring graphics and come up with this, sorry!

I know most of us don’t even want to think about snow, me in particular. I am not a cold weather person. I would move to Florida but I heard it is 20 degrees down there. And to think, I have family that moved down there to get away from the cold. I guess the jokes on them, hmm.

Seriously now, I got up and listened to the News as usual. Oh, brother, I didn’t like what I heard at all. We are suppose to get some snow but it is going to be super cold here. I went to the kitchen, got a cup of coffee and just happened to look out the window. You know I saw something I really hadn’t noticed since I was a kid, that was snow. I leaned over the sink and just watched the beautiful snow flakes gently falling to the ground. It was amazing, something that I bitch so much about and now I am finding the wonder in it. I realized as I lost myself in each flake that passed the window that I had lost something. I had lost the ability to stop and take pleasure and joy in the smallest things on our plane. A simple snowflake, so beautiful and so peaceful, gently falling to the ground. I found a part of me that I really didn’t think I had lost until this morning. But unfortunately I had. I think in the hectic world we live in it is easy to lose that joy. You get a minute today, stop and look at those snowflakes passing your window. Watch them gently fall to the ground, visualize you floating and gently tumbling to the ground with them. Clear your mind, embrace that little flake and all the joys the Goddess has given us. Never, ever let yourself forget to embrace all the wonders of our world no matter how small they may be.

Goddess Bless You On This Wintery Wednesday Morn’!


I look at the snow gently falling on the ground and it makes me sick (sorry). I don’t believe I have ever seen a gentle snow flake falling gracefully from the sky. In this neck of the woods, we have blizzards, ice, freezing temperature and I know a few I forgot to mention. We have sheets of snows falling down. What use to accumulate over night now takes just a minute or two.  Our temperatures have been in the teens but we are due to another cold front coming through today. I believe I need to move to a warmer climate.

In case you didn’t notice, we have been on and off the net. I did have the good sense to let you know that it might happen. And it did. The ice freeze on the utility lines and after it gets so heavy, down comes the line. We actually sit around and point out which icicle is going to drop and take a line with it. You can tell life is really exciting when you have no internet or TV. Our poor forefathers, I can now understand why they went to bed with the chicken and got up with the Rooster’ crow I can also understand why they has so many large families back then, lol! Well you have to stay warm some how!

Before I run, I want you to know we have another system coming in. If we disappear, our internet or power is out. I would ask that you have patience with us. Just as soon as everything is restored, we will back as normal.

I am off to work now, I have a lot of material to cover. I sort of added some special pieces to the publication to day because the days we have missed.

It looks like it is going to be a long winter. Let’s all find someone to snuggle with and hibernate to Spring arrives, lo!

4 Sunny Activities for Summer Stress Relief

Everyone looks forward to summer outdoor fun, and you may even feel your  energy pick up when you head outside, but it’s not just a summer state of mind.  It has been proven that the sun can improve your mood, increase your energy, and  provide measurable health benefits.

According to Dr. Casey Adams, board-certified alternative health practitioner  and book author, the sun offers up multiple benefits: “The sun delivers heat,  raising core body temperature. Higher core body temperatures facilitate  increased cell function and higher energy. This increases our detoxification and  purification systems. Sun also regulates our natural biorhythm cycles. Boosted  core temperatures increase cortisol levels during the day, ushering more  relaxation and deeper sleep during the night.”

In addition, Dr. Adams, among others, points to the need for vitamin D  production. It has been reported that as many as one in seven adults is vitamin  D deficient; however, vitamin D can be synthesized by exposure to sunlight.  Vitamin D is converted to calcidiol in the liver which is in turn converted to  calcitriol in the kidneys.  Calcitriol regulates the amount of calcium and  phosphate in the bloodstream, which ensures healthy bones and teeth.

So despite the warnings to minimize sun exposure, moderate sun exposure  (including a thorough application of sunscreen) can have tremendous health  benefits. For sun-aided stress relief, here are four suggested activities:

1) Meditate in the meadow – or anywhere outside. If you are  an experienced practitioner, simply find a comfortable place and let the fresh  air breathe new life into your practice. If you are a beginner, simply find a  comfortable seated position. Then close your eyes and take slow deep breaths.  Feel the warmth of the sun and allow it to flow through your body – from the top  of your head to the tip of your toes. Quiet our mind and think only of the  breath and the warmth. Smile.

2) Downward dog in the daylight. Take your yoga mat and find  a nice flat area outside and perform literal sun salutations! Many have found  that a higher body temperature improves their yoga practice. Doesn’t a warrior  pose in the park breathing in fresh air sound like a nice change of pace from  the hot yoga studio?

3) Walk with wonder – take in everything around you. No  matter where you’re heading to – the store, to find lunch on your break, or  nowhere in particular – notice everything you pass. The trees, the flowers, how  the sunlight reflects off the buildings, the birds chirping – just take it all  in. For that moment, think of nothing else but what your senses are delivering  to you at that very second in time. You are truly in the present.

4) Journal your joy. Step outside to write down what makes  you happy, what you are grateful for, why you feel joy.  Removing yourself from  your walled environment – whether it be home or office – can help you let get  past the distractions and away from the sources of stress so you can open up  your mind and heart to feelings of gratitude and contentedness.

Not only will participating in these activities bring your relief in the  daytime, they have also all been proven to help you relax and sleep better at  night. Combined with the boosted core temperatures and increased cortisol levels  achieved by the sun exposure, you should not have any trouble drifting off. And  there’s nothing like a good night’s sleep to relieve stress.

Many have observed that moods elevate in the summer – and there is a  scientific explanation. But by proactively harnessing the power of the sun, you  can leverage this phenomenon to even greater benefit. So, put on something cool  and comfortable, lather on the SPF 30, and drink in the summer sunshine. Your  mind and body will reap the rewards.

Collect the ingredients needed for this spell. Cast a circle around the area where you will do your spell. Build a small fire.

On the paper, write what you find enticing about your partner and what you desire from him/her. Be as descriptive and explicit as you like – no one but you will read what you’ve written. When you’ve finished, draw the Runes Gebo, which looks like an X and Teiwaz, which looks like an arrow pointing up, around the edges of the paper. These two symbols represent love and passion respectively.

Place the spices on the paper and fold it to make a packet that contains them. Visualize you and your love in a passionate embrace. As  you hold this image in your mind, toss the packet of spices into the fire. As it burns, your intention is released into the universe. Open the circle.

4 Barbecue Safety Tips from the USDA

Independence Day is just around the corner. And, if you’re like millions of  Americans, you’ll spend your day grilling up some tasty foods with friends and  family. It’s certainly a fun time, but it’s also important to recognize the  possible dangers that exist in outdoor barbecues. Indeed, food safety is even  more important in the summer, when hot temperatures foster an ideal environment  for bacteria to grow at a faster rate.

Luckily, the United State Department of Agriculture (USDA) has you covered,  with their helpful guide to preventing foodborne illnesses this 4th of July  holiday. 1. Keep It Clean

Just because you’re cooking outdoors doesn’t mean you have to forgo the  cleaning you would do inside the house. If you don’t have access to clean water  during your barbecue, you can either bring some with you or use moist towelettes  and clean cloths to keep surfaces and utensils clean. Keep your hands clean  with hand sanitizer.

2. Keep Everything Separate

Have plenty of clean plates, utensils and platters on hand. Don’t ever reuse  platters or cutting boards that have been exposed to raw meat and poultry — if  there’s harmful bacteria present, it can contaminate even safely-cooked  food.

3. Make Sure Food is Cooked  Thoroughly

Meat and poultry can look perfectly done and safe to eat from the outside,  when, internally, that’s not the case.  Use a food thermometer to make  sure your food is cooked to a safe temperature. The USDA suggests the following internal temperatures:

  • Whole poultry: 165 °F
  • Poultry breasts: 165 °F
  • Ground poultry: 165 °F
  • Ground meats: 160 °F
  • Beef, pork, lamb, and veal (steaks, roasts and chops): 145 °F and allow to  rest at least 3 minutes.

You’ll also want to make sure that your hot food stays hot. Someone not ready  for that burger? Well, you can keep it hot by placing them on the side of the  grill and away from the coals.

4. Keep Food Chilled

Packing food into a cooler is the last thing you should do before leaving  your home for a barbecue. Have a thermometer in your cooler, and make sure  the temperature is always below 40°F. If you can, try to use one cooler for food  and one cooler for drinks. That way, you’ll be able to open up your drink cooler  as often as you like without exposing the food to warmer temperatures.

If it’s hot outside, make sure to keep your food in the cooler. Keep your  food out of the cooler for an hour at most. If you’re not sure how long a food  item has been sitting out in the sun, don’t take the risk. As the USDA says,  “when in doubt, throw it out!”
