White candle Jasmine or Pine incense Sprig of sage

This is best performed at night, but it can be done any time of day.

Light the white candle and the incense stick. Close your eyes and hold the sage close to your nose, and breathe in its calming scent. Keep holding it as say:

Calming powers of sage and pine, Add order to this life of mine, (name) By the four corners, elements, God and Goddess too, If this gift seems fit to you, Then please grant calmness unto him/me. So mote it be, So mote it be.

Repeat as necessary. It works within a day or two.

Ritual:

Under the light of the Full Moon, draw a pentagram on the first page and under this  write the following information: date, time, place, your magical name (and sigil if you have one),  the moon’s phase and any other info you feel is important. Hold the book up to the Moon and say:

You need:

1 six-inch square of golden cloth 1 seven-inch square of green lace 1 teaspoon of witch hazel bark or tincture 1 teaspoon of cardamom seeds 1 teaspoon grains of paradise 1 teaspoon basil 1 teaspoon caraway seeds 1 inch piece of dried ginger root and one of powdered icing sugar 1 inch piece of cinnamon stick 13 apple seeds 1 piece of rose quartz 1 garnet Red ribbon to make tiny red ribbon roses

Lay out the gold cloth squarely on top of the lace. In the center sprinkle the witch hazel, cardamom, grains of paradise, basil, and caraway.

Hold the sugar ginger in your hands and focus on your inner beauty; see it as ray of light making its way into your aura. Place the sugar ginger on top of the herbs. Add the cinnamon stick, the apple seeds, the rose quartz, and the garnet.

Bring the corners of the cloth and the lace up to a bundle; wrap three times with the ribbon.

Tie three knots. Put the ribbon rose stems directly over the ribbon and wrap the ribbon ends three more times, tying three more knots to secure the ribbon roses to the sachet.

Trim any ragged ends. Raise energy and charge the sachet, saying:

You can use this charm to “fluff up” your aura. This combination of herbs works to give you not only radiance, but also increased attractiveness and self-confidence.

You need:

A dish full of earth (good soil, not dry, dusty dirt) A yellow candle A full-sized mirror Olive, patchouli, jasmine, or cinnamon essential oil A small flower pot A flower or plant seed

Anoint the candle with the essential oil you have chosen. Place it in the center of the dish of earth. Light it and sit down with it between you and a mirror.

Look deeply into the mirror, concentrate on your reflection. Without being vain, consider the things you find most beautiful about yourself — not just physically but mentally. What is your inner beauty, what is your outer beauty? It’s important that you never think of what you feel must be “changed”, be as positive about the beauty that you have already.

Perform this ritual 3 nights in a row.

Once the entire candle has burnt down, remove the wax from the dish. Place the earth from the dish inside a small flower pot and plant a seed inside it.

Water it and care for it so that it grows properly.

This spell is done on Tuesday nights, right before you retire. Do for at least nine Tuesdays in a row. You can also make it a weekly ritual.

Supplies:

  • 1 large red votive candle
  • Run Devil Run incense
  • Reversible oil
  • A saucer or plate, plain white, reserved for this use only.

 

Procedure:

Anoint the red candle from middle to top then middle to bottom, concentrate on reversing all negative psychic messages sent to you, back to their senders. (Try not to visualize anyone, just the negativity being reversed away from you.) Light the incense. You can also carve that desire into the candle with an awl or knife. Take the wick out of the candle, remove it from the metal weight at the bottom. Now turn it around and replace back into the candle. Reversing the wick. Place it on the white plate.

Light the candle and continue the visualization for 7 minutes. Let candle burn itself out while you sleep. Make sure your candle is in a safe place. In the morning you can scry in the wax to find out who is sending you the negativity. Or you can just toss it! Who really wants to know anyway?

There’s often one family in every neighborhood that simply causes trouble for others, no matter how people try to get along with them. Perhaps they have loud parties almost every night or children who torment neighborhood pets or bully other children. When you’ve honestly tried everything else, here’s a spell to help them find a better place to live: a place away from you where they will be happier with their neighborhood.

Find a green candle, one large enough to burn 30 minutes a day for at least a week. Make up a short chant something like this:

Bothersome neighbors go away, find a much better place to stay. A place where you will be happy, I will be happy, and all around you will be happy. An affordable place, a nice place, A much better place to stay So long as it is far from me and mine. Bothersome neighbors go away.

It’d be better to make up your own, especially if you can personalize it to the people in question. Just make it positive and upbeat. The idea here is that you are helping these folks find something better than they have now and helping yourself to peace and quiet at the same time.

You’ll also need paper and colored pencils/pens/crayons/whatever.

Each night light your candle (cast a circle first if you want one), imagining the flame as a spark in their mind which will lead them to a new home. Then sit down an stare into the flame for 5-10 minutes concentrating on your desire that they find a new, better place to live where they will be happy and annoy no one.

Then take up your pen and paper and draw while chanting your chant. Stick figure art is okay if that is the best you can do. The first night draw your neighbor’s (current) house with them doing the annoying types of things they do. Make it complete even if it’s simple art.  Put in the trees, windows, and the like. When you are done, wait for the end of the 30 minutes, concentrating on the candle flame and your goal. Fold the paper up and tear it to small shreds. Put out your candle (and close your circle if you created one. Save the torn scraps of paper.

On each night for the rest of the week, repeat the ritual, but the art will change. On the second day, draw them excited and happy in front of their current house — because they’ve found a better one. For the rest of the week, draw them carrying various stuff out of their current house (as if they were moving). The key thing here is only show there current house. You don’t want to limit possibilities by drawing a new house for them.

After you’ve done this a week, put all of the scraps of paper and some of the tail end of the candle in an envelope and bury it or hide it on the property line between their place and yours. If you’ve used large sheets of paper, you only need to include a portion from each if you need to keep the envelope small.

Note that a spell like this can take a while to take effect. Most people do not pack up and move overnight.

The current leading up to the Leo Full Moo3 (Jan 26th), is one of expressing many sides of your personality.  The stimulating vibes of Uranus will meet the vitalizing Sun in the sign it rules, Aquarius (opposite to Leo).  Breaking out of the usual thought loops is not just mentally stimulating, but refreshing to the spirit, too.  Fixed signs4 (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius), especially in the 7 degree range, can find it illuminating.

But both the sign of romance (Leo) and of originality (Aquarius) are squared by the water fixed sign (Scorpio).  This happens at the Full Moon with Saturn square to Sun and Moon, and that last week with a Saturn square to the Sun (January 30th).  Using our intuitive eyes, we could foresee a challenges here to guide outbursts of originality in way where nobody gets hurt!

In other words, we have to be mindful of strange, demanding, or selfish behaviors, that have their roots in the psyche.  Is the oft-said declaration, “This is me, take it or leave it!” an excuse to avoid responsibility, honesty or taking steps to deepen intimacy?

Relationships can be a house of mirrors, as the shadow material continues to be churned up by Saturn in Scorpio.  We say we want to be loved for who we are.  The Leo Full Moon makes it a peak for desiring to be loved for our uniqueness.  But this month’s aspects and Full Moon also invites reflection on the deeper psyche, and how that manifests “out there.”  How does integration of shadow material change who we are, and what kinds of love (or mirrors of validation) we’re seeking.  This is a great time to get clear, and heal any deep distortions of the heart and soul that are barriers to love.

Love muse Venus remains in steadfast earth sign Capricorn through to February 1st.  The impulse to gather with friends, for nourishment via the senses, or sharing the joy of being productive.  The attraction vibe overall is to what endures, making it time to connect with age-old friends.  The rational side of love — what kind of life is desired — is a motivator.  Some significant decisions can be made about what’s co-owned (property, businesses), or mutual responsibilities (children).  A good atmosphere for love is:  calming, meaningful, grounded, in places that evoke the timeless and tradition.

Chihuahua

Kind, mild mannered. Has neurotic tendencies. Gentle. Laid back. Drinks  bottled water.  Often looks like the dog.

Usually owned by a sweet, old, white-haired person.

However, the rug is pulled out from under you as the void-of course lunar vibration begins simultaneously and then lasts for over 15+ hours until 7:01PM PST.  It is always wise to count your blessings during a void Moon cycle and not overplay your hand. However, your abilities as a superb problem-solver and strategist may return with a burst of excitement when the Sun forms a supportive, 60-degree liaison with Pallas (7:52AM PST). Take a time-out from business as usual if possible. Visit a favorite bookstore or museum for a change of pace. Board, word and card games offer relaxation and can be an antidote for mid-week accumulated stress.  The scene shifts to home and family interests once the Moon enters the sign of its natural abode — Cancer (7:01PM PST). Clean-up campaigns around your residence are back in style. Don’t be surprised if a wave of nostalgia washes over you when the Moon trines Neptune in water signs (10:37PM PST). Brooding over past failures, lost love, and things you cannot control are no-nos.

Invocation to Boannan

Lady of the River
Wash us clean in your rippling waves.
Lady of the Onward Flow
Carry us into our future
And safely home to our lives.
Lady of the Fishes
Nourish and provide for us.
Lady who lay with the Oak Tree
And bore him the newborn Sun,
River mother, mountain mother,
Lady of clear springs and cold  water
Wherein lies sacred talking fishes,
Lady whose cool hands stroke us
And whose blood flows cold
Out to the unforgiving sea,
With each sip of water we take
We will remember your name.

Chant:
River go on, river go on forever
River run through my heart

(Let one who has been chosen to do the work of the ritual bring the bowl of water to each person in turn, and let them drink from it, and then pour the rest out as a libation to Boannan.)

Altar: Upon a bare table lay a large pot shaped like a human figure, reclining,  with earth. All should enter bearing two white cloths, one on each arm.
Offerings: Silence and meditation.
Daily Meal: Vegetarian

Bruma Invocation

Earth, you lie sleeping in silence,
And we can do nothing but wait.
We have breathed upon your first seeds,
We have sung your first green shoots
Up from the bare brown soil,
We have watered you with tears and sweat
And fed you with the remains of our meals,
We have cut down your bounty and saved it,
Yet this is not the time for seeds, or green,
But simply the long  wait in the dark
Until the light waxes and the time comes again.
You are silent, and will not  to us,
No matter how we cry out.
You are dormant, and will not sing to us,
No matter how we raise our voices,
For all things come in their own time,
And this is not the time for movement.
So we will sit with you, Earth,
We will watch over you as you sleep
And take part in your dreams
In silence, and wait for your awakening.

Chant:
Earth dreaming
Silent seeming
Winter’s vigil
We will wait for you.

(After the chant has been sung five times, all come forth to the altar. Each lays one white cloth gently over the pot, saying, “Blessed be the Earth in the time of winter.” Then each sits on the floor and places the other white cloth over their heads, and meditates on all that is sleeping and cannot be awoken. Silence in the House until Akte.)
