New Moon Report for July 3rd – Mars In Libra

New Moon Report

By Jeff Jawer

Mars In Libra

Tuesday, July 3, 5:33 am PDT, 8:33 am EDT

Assertive Mars has been busy managing details since its entry into efficient Virgo last November. Its move into sociable Libra opens up new opportunities for personal and business alliances, making this a favorable time to launch a product or seek a job. Passive aggression is the shadow of this transit because anger can hidden behind insincere smiles. Mending fences and making compromises are fine as long as inner truth isn’t sacrificed to maintain appearances.

Calendar of the Moon for Tuesday, July 3rd

3 Tinne

Parvati’s Day

Color: Red
Element: Water
Altar: Upon a red cloth lay a great bowl of water, incense of lemongrass and vetiver, wreaths of dried flowers, and bowls of colored rice.
Offerings: Food. Coconut milk. Meditate on the nature of asceticism and love.
Daily Meal: Indian food.

Invocation to Parvati

Hail Parvati, dancer in the dawn,
Mother of Ganesha, wife of Shiva,
Living body of Shakti.
Parvati the sensuous one
Who knows the paths of self-denial,
Parvati the embodied one
Who knows how to leave the body behind.
When Parvati fell in love with Shiva
And yet he would not love her in return,
Being bound to his rites of meditation,
She danced before him in a dance
Beautiful enough to shake the world,
And yet he did not relent.
So she went to the top of another mountain,
Cast off all her fine raiment,
And meditated until her mind
Became one with the cosmos
And shone so brightly in the paths
Of the universe that great Shiva
Could not help but be awed by it,
And Shiva fell in love.
Lady who is the bridge between
The sensuality of the flesh
And the asceticism of the mind,
Help us to achieve that balance,
And never to fall fully to one side or the other.
Give us your blessing, Parvati,
Mother of Ganesha, dancer in the dawn.
Chant: Mother of Fortune, Parvati, Parvati,
Holy dancer, Shakti, Shakti
(Let there be drumming and dancing in a circle during the chant.)

Today’s I Ching Hexagram for Sunday, July 1 is 29: Dangerous Depths

29: Dangerous Depths

Hexagram 29

General Meaning: Exposure to passing dangers brings good fortune to those who move beyond them. Like boaters passing through white-water rapids, when you are faced with serious challenges, you must remain alert, take all available precautions, and above all, keep going forward so as to remove yourself from harm’s way. Once the danger has passed, good fortune.

The positive aspect of challenges is that they offer an excellent chance to cleanse the senses and strengthen the spirit. Surviving crises brings tremendous reinvigoration, and sharpens the eye and mind for future challenges.

It is reckless to court danger, but critical to inner development not to shrink from it either. Those who respond to challenges most effectively are those who are able to establish an inner bubble of calm in the midst of the action. A calm center keeps one rooted in the moment, alert and focused. Courage at such times springs from focused attention, from a willingness to penetrate the moment of danger to its very core, so as to shape it and transform the situation.

Today’s Tarot Card for July 1 is The High Priestess

Today’s Tarot Card

The High Priestess

This Tarot Deck: Fantastical Tarot

General Meaning:    Traditionally called the High Priestess, this major arcana, or trump, card represents human wisdom. She can be viewed as a kind of female Pope, the ancient Egyptian Priestess of Isis, the even older snake and bird Goddesses, the Greek Goddess Persephone, or the Eve of Genesis before the Fall.
For the accused heretics who were burnt at the stake for revering her in the 14th and 15th century, she symbolized the prophecy of the return of the Holy Spirit, which was perceived as the female aspect of the Holy Trinity.
In the sequence of cards in the major arcana, the High Priestess appears as soon as the Fool decides he wants to develop his innate powers, making a move toward becoming a Magus. The High Priestess is his first teacher, representing the Inner Life and the method for contacting it, as well as the contemplative study of Nature and the Holy Mysteries.

Your Magickal Spell for Sunday, July 1 – Drawing Down The Moon

Since there is a Full Moon on July 3rd this month, I figured this spell would be perfect. Look for more Full Moon Spells to come in the next couple of days!

Drawing Down The Moon

This ritual is a common one among Witches and Wiccans and should be part of any practitioners repertoire as well. It is a way of drawing  Moon energy into yourself and connecting with the divine. There are as many ways to perform this ritual as there are practitioners. Here is one way:
Go outside during a Full Moon and stand or sit quietly for a few minutes until you feel the Moon energy vibrating all around  you. You might want to place a mirror in front of you to reflect the moonlight, but it isn’t required. Welcome the Goddess into your Spirit and say  something like the following:
Mother Moon both strong and bright
Fill me up with Goddess light.
When you feel full of the Moon’s power, the ritual is complete.

Today’s Runes for June 27 is Inguz

Today’s Runes

Spirit Runes are most commonly used for questions about mysticism, spirituality, and religion. Inguz is the rune of completion and fertility. The presence of this rune suggests that tasks which have been initiated will come to fruition. This rune is associated with Ing and Frey, it is this connection that explains its connotations of both fertility and sexuality. The variant of this rune shown here is reminiscent of the twin strands of life, and of the challenge and rewards of bringing together things complimentary

Your Daily Tarot Card for Wednesday, June 27

Judgment

This Tarot Deck: Visconti-Sforza

General Meaning:    What has traditionally been known as the Judgement card, sometimes entitled Resurrection, represents the great reunion that the ancients believed would happen once in every age. This was the time when souls are harvested and taken Home to their place of origin, outside the solar system. Then the World is seeded with a batch of new souls and the process starts over.
From a modern point of view, this great reunion — which includes every personality that you have ever been and every soul that you have done deep work with — reunites to consciously complete the process. In a way, we symbolically celebrate this returning to center every year on our birthday.
In personal terms, the Judgment cards points to freedom from inner conflicts, and so clear a channel, that the buried talents and gifts of past incarnations can come through an individual in this lifetime. This card counsels you to trust the process of opening yourself, because what emerges is of consistently high quality. You can effortlessly manifest as a multi-dimensional being, and assist in evoking that response from others.

Calendar of the Sun for June 27

Calendar of the Sun

27 Lithemonath

Day of the God of Walls and Ditches

Colors: Brown and black
Element: Earth
Altar: Upon cloth of brown and black place the figure of a Chinese mandarin, flanked on each side by a horse-demon and an ox-demon, and a man in black and a man in white, both bearing lanterns, and much incense. Lay also on the table any books of accounting for the House, such as financial logs, car maintenance and mileage logs, etc.
Offerings: Put the House and its boundaries in order, especially the yard and surroundings. All work today should be in repairing walls, doors, windows, plumbing, etc.
Daily Meal: Simple workman’s sandwiches, eaten while working.

Invocation to the God of Walls and Ditches

O great Cheng-Huang,
God of Walls and Ditches,
Lord of Boundaries,
Keeper of the public peace,
We all too often forget that we are not alone
In this world; that each community
Has edges that brush against each other.
Remind us to keep those edges neat and courteous
And our walls and ditches well maintained
Lest floods and creatures stray
Where they are not wanted.
Remind us that courtesy is no mere luxury,
But can be the coin with which one pays those
Who have no choice but to be reminded of your presence.
May you look favorably upon our House!
May your Horse-head Demon and Ox-head Demon
Find nothing to anger them within our domain!
May your watchmen, Mr. Black and Mr. White,
Remind us that sometimes one must
Pay attention to what it black and white,
And not always be distracted by the many shades of grey.
In your honor we toil today,
Lord of Boundaries,
That our own walls shall keep in what should not be seen
And keep out all that may harm us.

(There is no song or chant today; all go straight to their work. Singing and chanting may be done while working, however, and the work need not be done in a solitary fashion.)

Lady A

June 21 – Daily Feast

Chances are we never recall just when we made the biggest decisions in our lives – unless we can remember some of our quietest moments. We think of change coming with fanfare, but that so seldom happens. Most of the time we silently recognize the great things in our lives long before we bring them our to be known by everyone. It is hard to say just when the change began. Some of it is even ga lv quo di, sacred to us, not easily shared – nor wise to share, because it is our own that comes from somewhere deep within us. There is an inner life that makes changes easier because it prepares us to accept what we cannot change – and more importantly, to change what we can.

‘A Cherokee Feast of Days’, by Joyce Sequichie Hifler

Daily Feng Shui Tip for June 21 – ‘World Handshake Day’

On ‘World Handshake Day’ I want to share a way of making sure that anytime anyone asks you ‘how do you do?’ the answer is always ‘perfectly fine!’ The following is an old Russian exercise that will help to lighten up the vibes of your body while shaking off energetic impurities. Lie on your back and lift your arms and your legs so that they are at a 45-degree angle to your body. At the same time, shake your extremities as if you were a dog shaking water from its coat. Inhale deeply, and as you exhale, clench your fists forcefully so that you hands literally vibrate from the tension. Hold this tension until you are finished exhaling. Do this eight to ten times. Not only will your own anger, negativity and emotional overload diminish, but it could conceivably completely disappear! Wash your hands under cold running water as soon as you are done, allowing the water to pour down from the elbows to your hands before drying them. Hands and shaking both leading to a happier, healthier you!
