Wishing You A Very Blessed & Prosperous Mabon Season, dear brothers & sisters!

I hope everyone is having a great day especially since it is Friday! I don’t know if any of you have heard the term “Mabon Season.” I know I hadn’t, it is a term I just made up. Some people start celebrating Mabon today while others celebrate it on the 23rd.  So I just figured “Mabon Season” would work because it is celebrated at some many different dates. It is very appropriate for this bunch around here. They start celebrating the morning of Sept. 20th and don’t quit to midnight Sept. 23rd. Seriously, party animals. Mystie is really cutting the rug in the photo I took of her, isn’t she, lol! I should be nice to her. I was really scared to look at the poll she did about me. No telling what that woman can come up with, scary even thinking about it. But she did pretty good on the first one, I just can’t wait to the second or third one :s .

I wanted to give you a heads up. Yesterday while I was working on our Pinterest account. I found out something very interesting. They will now let you have a business on there. They will let you advertise your merchandise for nothing. The only thing is that you have to pull the merchandise from your own site. Well to solve that problem, I am going to have a page called “Featured Merchandise for the Day,” pop up every now and then. That way I will be able to pull the item from here and the individual will come back here to buy it or something else. We will still have the raffles once a month.  And having the merchandise is in no way going to interfere with our mission.  We will still provide all the same services you are use too. And perhaps an item you have been looking for will pop up some where, who knows? But we will not post the merchandise till we are through with the daily postings. Beside Pinterest has been a great way of just advertising our site. I don’t know how many members have come over from there. Maybe we have the same luck with the items. Oh, I almost forgot, I was able to change the name of our account finally over to Witches Of The Craft. So if you have any graphics or interesting things you might want to share, you can now do so. It is your Pinterest about after all.

The reason I am doing this is because I am tired of bumming off my family, YOU! There are other ways we can stay afloat and I am going to give them a try. All I ask is that you have patience with me. I am a very proud witch and every time I have to post about needing money, it takes a bite out of me. I don’t like it. So this is what is going on. Besides if you need anything, let us know. We have hooked up with a very reasonable wholesaler and have access to almost anything you want. Hey this might turn out to be a good thing! You get the info, the spells, the rituals, plus anything you need to work the spells/rituals. Damn I’m a genius, lmao! But we are going to give it a try for a bit. If it works, fine. If it don’t, we will try something else.

So much for the news……..Now let’s get on with the daily’s what do you say!

I wish everyone of you a very prosperous and blessed Mabon Season!

May the Goddess Bless You & Yours,

Love,

Lady A

Today's Tarot Card for September 18 is The Fool

The Fool

Wednesday, Sep 18th, 2013

Pamela Coleman-Smith’s artful rendition of an “innocent Fool” archetype (Rider-Waite deck) is often used to represent Tarot in general. Early classical versions of the Fool card, however, portray quite a different character — a person driven by base needs and urges, who has fallen into a state of poverty and deprivation.

In some instances, he is made out to be a carnival entertainer or a huckster. In others, he is portrayed as decrepit and vulnerable — as the cumulative result of his delusions and failures. Not until the 20th century do you see the popular Rider-Waite image of the Fool arise — that of an innocent Soul before its Fall into Matter, as yet untainted by contact with society and all its ills.

Modern decks usually borrow from the Rider-Waite imagery. Most Fool cards copy the bucolic mountainside scene, the butterfly, the potential misplaced step that will send the Fool tumbling into the unknown. Don’t forget, however, that the earlier versions of this card represented already-fallen humanity, over-identified with the material plane of existence, and beginning a pilgrimage towards self-knowledge, and eventually, wisdom. The Fool reminds us to recognize the path of personal development within ourselves — and the stage upon that path where we find ourselves — in order to energize our movement toward deeper self-realization.

The Witches Spell of the Day for Sept. 18th – A Spell To Create Prosperity

il_fullxfull_238700848

 A Spell to Create Prosperity

This spell can be used for any kind of prosperity, but it works best for the prosperity of inner peace, the source of all true prosperity. Sage is a good herb for getting rid of negativity and cinnamon is excellent for boosting your energy and creativity.

Tools:

Sprig of sage

A green candle

Empty bowl

Pinch of cinnamon

When: During the new moon

On the night of the new moon, put the green candle in the empty bowl with the sage. Light them both. As you sprinkle cinnamon into the flame, say: “I embrace prosperity and inner peace.”

Repeat these words and keep sprinkling cinnamon into the flame until the cinnamon is gone. Let the candle and the sage burn down, then bury them in your garden or yard. If you do this during the winter, you can bury the remains in the dirt of an indoor plant.

Faith

Autumn Comments & Graphics

Faith is the dark moon

Unseen in the night

We know it is present

Yet long for the light

Faith is the wind

That whispers around us

We cannot touch it

And must take it on trust

Faith is the soft voice

Of the Goddess of Old

Who warms us in the Winter

And wards off the cold

Let my heart feel the warmth

Let my soul hear her voice

Let me find faith in the darkness

And my spirit rejoice once again!

Daily Feng Shui News for Sept. 17th – 'Time's Up Day'

Today’s ‘Time’s Up Day’ reminds me to tell you about timekeepers and Feng Shui. This tradition says that you should never gift anyone with a watch or any other type of timepiece, as you’re basically wishing them limited time in their lives. You also need to be careful where you position clocks in your household, office and bedroom. Hanging clocks on any of the walls that would be considered within the confines of the Bagua map (the map we use to locate major life aspirations) will bring limiting energies to those same spaces and intentions. Rather, keep clocks in innocuous places to limit the limits that they can attract.

Today's Tarot Card for September 17th is The World

The World

Tuesday, Sep 17th, 2013

What has traditionally been known as the World card points to the presiding intelligence, called “Sophia,” or Wisdom, which upholds life on this and all worlds. A more precise title for this card might be “the Soul of the World,” also applicable as a symbol of personal empowerment and freedom. In most Tarot decks it is a female figure that has become our standard World image. She originates in Hebrew, Gnostic and Alchemical lore, and stands between heaven and earth as the Cosmic Mother of Souls, the Wife of God and our protector from the karmic forces we have set loose upon the Earth in our immaturity and ignorance.

Where the Empress energy secures and fertilizes our terrestrial lives, the goddess of The World invites us into cosmic citizenship — once we come to realize our soul’s potential for it. Just as the Chariot stands for success in achieving a separate Self, and Temperance represents achievement of mental and moral health, the World card announces the awakening of the soul’s Immortal Being, accomplished without the necessity of dying.

This card, like the Sun, is reputed to have no negative meaning no matter where or how it appears. If the Hermetic axiom is “Know Thyself”, this image represents what becomes known when the true nature of Self is followed to creative freedom and its ultimate realization.

Celebrating Other Spirituality 365 Days A Year – Rosh Hashana

September 17th

Rosh Hashana

Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New Year, is a time of new beginnings. On this day, the best clothes were worn and “Good Year” greetings are exchanged. Originally this was a one-day festival and the Fast of Trumpets, at which the shofar was sounded. For the Jewish community this is a time of judgment, repentance, soul-searching, and also of augury for the coming year. This is an entirely public festival, in contrast to the domestic nature of most Jewish holidays. In earlier times, a ritual cleansing was enacted by casting one’s sins into the waters. Today, when possible, Orthodox Jews still assemble near the water for this rite.

Good Monday Afternoon, My Precious Family & Friends!

I must apologize for running so late. It isn’t really my fault though. No one woke me up and that is for a reason I must say. Smartie pants took off her brace for her finger yesterday (heck it’s been 3 weeks). Anyway, I got that finger of all fingers twisted up in a bed sheet. Don’t get the wrong idea, I was making the bed up or at least trying.  It turned that finger all the way around. When it was finally loose from the sheet it was flopping like a fish out of water. Pain, oh brother was there pain. So after it quit hurting I just passed out. I guess everyone let me sleep because of that awful incident. The finger is swore and swollen. Just as long as I don’t try to straighten it up, I am fine. Well look at it this way, I won’t be permanently popping people the bird, lol!

When I run across a difficult decision that will effect us all, I consult with you. If you read yesterday issue, you will know that the latest regards us opening up a prison ministry. I have had several responses and I appreciate them very much. The responses so far have opened up my eyes. I never stopped to think about the danger I might be putting you, my dear family in. Due to those facts presented to me, we will not be opening up a prison ministry.  I received several emails from individuals that use to be involved and still are in the Corrections Department. Their letters moved me very deeply.  All of them said, “we have good intentions but I had to remember these people committed crimes.” “If not, they would not be in the Prison system.” They also went on to tell me about how other well-meaning groups had been taken advantage of. Or the material sent to them never reached them. It was either destroyed or stolen by other inmates. Due to the facts of the letters, I have received we will not be opening up a Prison ministry. I believe this is best for us and our safety.

I know there are some from Prisons reading this right now. I must apologize for getting your hopes up. But I cannot risk, my family and my friends. I know there are honest individuals that want material. They are craving it because the Goddess is working on them and their hearts are changing. But as anything else, a few bad apples spoil the whole barrel.  Again, I am sorry but we cannot take the risks involved in open such a ministry up. The only suggestion opened for you now, is to continue to follow the site. We will try to post as much current news and information as we can.

Thank you so much for your input. Thank you for being a part of our loving community. Most of all thank you for being my brothers and sisters.

Have a great week,

Love,

Lady A

Blessing of the Book of Shadows

BLESSING OF THE BOOK OF SHADOWS

Hearken as the witch’s word calls to all, a gulf to ford.
Bridge the vast realities. An it harm none, do as ye please.
Elements, protect and guard this book, from wandering eyes and prying looks.
Fill it with thine ancient powers, in this right and ready hour.
Powers of the North, the East below, help me to live, to learn, to grow.
Lend your strength and stability, to practice the Craft and with love be free.
Powers of East, the wind, the Sky, watch over these pages with thine eye.
Your wisdom and knowledge, for these I do ask, that this book be worthy of the
Craft and its task. Powers of South, Fire, and hearth, help these Shadows to
prove their worth. Infuse them with all your healing and passion, so only good
comes from the work that is fashioned. Powers of West, the Water and sea,
change and growth are granted by thee. Bless these pages with all that you know,
that righteous readers may learn and grow. And to the unschooled eye that see,
confusing words and sophistry, lead them from these sacred pages, and bless
their passage through the ages. For free will of all, and harm none, as I have
willed it, it is now done.
So mote it be!

Something To Think About & I Want Your Input, Please!

You can tell you are growing when you have request to branch out. We have had such a request. I have had such a request. It is for us to start a prison ministry. I have received several letters from inmates all over the U. S.,  requesting that we do so. Some request old books of ours that we are through with. One inmate I received a letter from told me he can’t get any Pagan material in his prison. The latest book he has read is “A Witch’s Notebook,” by RavenWolf. Then there are others who want just penpals. Someone knowledgeable in the Craft that they could ask questions (sort of act like a teacher). Then I have others who want us to put out a monthly bulletin. I would love to do this but our budget does not let us do so right now.

It is up to you if we go through with this idea. If we are in agreement on going ahead with this project, I will put up a page called “Prison Ministry.” On this page, I will list the inmates and what they have requested. If you can meet that need then you will let me know and I will strike that inmate out. I give you my word as a Witch, I will never let any of your private information available to anyone. I know that these inmates have committed crimes or else they wouldn’t be in prison.

There are several old quotes I could use at this time but I won’t. I will confess that I wasn’t really keen on this idea to start with. Then the Goddess spoke to me. “Did I not realize how great Her Love it.”  Was I not the one that insists on spreading our Religion? This avenue has now opened for you and you aren’t going to take it? These inmates are crying out for information on Paganism. There is no one to answer their pleas.

I have always said this is your site, I am just the caretaker. Now it is up to you, do we start this Prison Ministry or not? If we start it, it will be something that grows and grows. Are you ready to make a commitment to stick to this Ministry for the long  haul?

What is Reincarnation?

What is Reincarnation?

Reincarnation is the concept that souls are continuously reborn in different bodies at different times and places. Many belief systems around the world embrace reincarnation, including Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Jainism, and a variety of New Age religions. Each religion professes different beliefs about the cause and purpose of reincarnation, but some facts remain consistent. In most every case, reincarnation is a natural and very important part of the development of a soul; it is the process of struggling against some negative force, such as desire or karma, toward a higher state of being; and it applies to all human beings, if not all living creatures.

Peace Ritual

Peace Ritual

Choose candle colors that represent the things you seek peace for

“From out of the dark and into the light
A circular mark, a candle burns bright.
I look towards the sky…my song do I sing.
Spirits soar high and gifts do I bring.
I offer my all! My mind, I then clear
Hearken my call! I feel you are near!
Candle burns higher; my spirits set free!
Hotter than fire, this magic will be!
Let magic come ’round, from under the ground,
To form with my sound and then, to be bound!
Around me I feel the magic so real,
Before you I kneel.. the spell I now seal!
Let all hatred CEASE! And let there be PEACE!
These words that I say, with magick AWAY!
This spell that I send is now at an end.
Let the magick I’ve laid, go forth and not fade!
SO MOTE IT BE!”

Feng Shui Tip for September 12 – 'School Year Clutter'

By now, you should be starting to nip that new school year clutter right in the bud. Start like this: Keep all school books in a single space per student. Put all the things needed for work into another specific space. Donate any books that don’t fit into your current lifestyle. And except for the most recent issues, recycle all magazines, catalogs and circulars. Even get rid of the articles that you’ve been meaning to clip. Trust your Higher Power to always provide you with the information you really need to live your luckiest life. Once the clutter is cleared, feel your incredible lightness of being, and then enjoy your Ahhhhh-Ha moment!

Today's Tarot Card for Sept. 12th is The Devil

The Devil

Thursday, Sep 12th, 2013

What has traditionally been known as the Devil card expresses the realm of the Taboo, the culturally rejected wildness and undigested shadow side that each of us carries in our subconscious. This shadow is actually at the core of our being, which we cannot get rid of and will never succeed in taming. From its earliest versions, which portrayed a vampire-demon, this card evoked the Church-fueled fear that a person could “lose their soul” to wild and passionate forces.

The image which emerged in the mid-1700’s gives us a more sophisticated rendition — that of the “scapegoated Goddess,” whose esoteric name is Baphomet. Volcanic reserves of passion and primal desire empower her efforts to overcome the pressure of stereotyped roles and experience true freedom of soul. Tavaglione’s highly evolved image (Stella deck) portrays the magical formula for harnessing and transmuting primal and obsessive emotions into transformative energies. As a part of the Gnostic message of Tarot, this fearsome passion and power must be reintegrated into the personality, to fuel the soul’s passage from mortal to immortal.

Let's Talk Witch – Do You Know Your Altar Has to Have Balance

phantasmal_familiar_by_rebelkitty-d5iar4f

Let’s Talk Witch – Your Altar Has to Have Balance

If you choose to leave your ritual tools out on your altar, be sure to display all four principal items—Athame, pentagram, chalice and wand—together to establish balance. These four implements represent the four elements: Air, Earth, Water and Fire respectively.

In addition to the four primary tools, you’ll want to keep a variety of other magick items and ingredients on hand for your workings. Most Witches store a supply of candles in different colors, along with incense, essential oils, herbs, crystals, and gemstones. In time, you might also consider adding ribbons, parchment, small bags, a crystal ball, bells a cauldron, tarot cards, runes, pendulum, ritual clothing and jewelry and a Book of Shadows for recording your spells.

Some Witches change the decorations on their altars to coincide with the seasons and sabbats. This practice keeps your altar looking fresh and attractive, while also linking you to the Wheel of the Year and the cycles of life.

Daily OM for September 11 – Discovering True Selves

Discovering True Selves

Soul Seeing

by Madisyn Taylor

The soul is the purest expression of an individual and is not bound by physical forms or fleeting emotions.

When we want to see deeply into the heart and mind of another person, soul seeing, also called soul gazing, allows us to see their soul. The soul is the purest expression of an individual and is not bound by physical forms or fleeting emotions. Through a simple art that involves lo

oking deeply into a partner’s eyes, soul seeing can show you a person’s inner beauty that you might otherwise miss. It is possible for someone who appears cold to have a warm, giving, nurturing soul or someone of average appearance to have a beautiful soul. Soul seeing is a way of looking past shapes, sizes, attitudes, and behavior to see the real individual that lies beneath the surface. It allows you to see the true essence of another person, the radiance of their being, and their spirit within.

Soul seeing is accomplished by sitting face to face with another person. It is helpful to first state your intention before you begin. As you stare softly into each other’s eyes without stopping to look away, each of your souls is revealed to the other. Try not to look for anything in particular or seek traits you’re hoping to find. Simply let the other person’s soul reveal itself to you. After twenty minutes have passed, stay where you are and share a period of silent reflection with your partner for two minutes. You may have suddenly seen your partner’s inner nature as clearly as a bright day, or you may need to meditate on your experience before you feel comfortable with your impressions. Either way, soul seeing can be a wonderfully intimate and shared experience.

So little of who each of us is can be captured by our appearance or personality. The thoughts, fears, desires, and longings that are part of what makes us whole are not always written across our faces. Often, the most surprising thing you may learn while soul seeing is that while you and the other person may appear on the surface to be quite different, you actually share many of the same inner qualities. And then there is the unique beauty that resides within that is longing to be revealed to another who is willing to see. Soul seeing can help you experience the people in your life as they truly are, beyond any mental barriers or physical limitations.

The Origin of Magick

The Origin of Magick

Author:   Crick [a WitchVox Sponsor]

Have you ever wondered about the origins of magick?
By magick I am not referring to the stage tricks employed by various entertainers for our amusement, but rather the energy which numerous cultures and belief systems have tapped into in order to manifest their various objectives.

This universal gift is known by many different names depending on which culture/belief system one looks at. It may be known simply as magick, prayers, miracles, life force, juju, karma and so forth.
For the purpose of this article it will be referred to as energy.

Have you ever wondered if such energy was a latent presence here on earth prior to the arrival of humankind? Residing here as an ancient primordial force, which was patiently waiting for sentient beings to discover its presence and purpose.

And if it was here prior to the arrival of human beings, did it serve an active purpose in the shaping of life and/or the creation of events that allowed for said life to begin? Was this primordial energy an essence that was introduced by Deity by way of a direct involvement with what we know as life? Or was it a side effect that formed as a result of actions taken by Deity during the course of said activities?

Or perhaps it is a development that manifested itself with the advent of humans? Could it be that the life force that we know as spirit introduced this energy into the life process in order to provide us with opportunities to expand our spiritual awareness and/or connection with alternate realms?

And if this is the case, why do you suppose that such a tool for growth and/or communication is so under utilized?

I say this because in society today, folks tend to become less connected with the world around them and more absorbed with the part of the self that is influenced by the individual ego.

And if this is a tool for growth and communication, why is it that those folks who actually use this energy for this purpose are spurned and looked upon with suspicion and in many cases with outright disdain by others in society? Witchcraft in essence, embodies the concepts and principals in the use of such energy.

And yet the word “witch” brings out and runs the gauntlet of emotions and perceptions of humanity as a whole. And depending on which side of the fence one stands, a witch is either an evil and vile creature or a person who is in touch with and resonates with the universal energies of which magick is a major part of.

Where does this fear of the unknown come from?

Was the ego installed into our souls as a balance to such a powerful tool? Has the balance shifted too far to one side of our souls?

As humans we readily employ magick in our various endeavors, but do we really understand its origins and what exactly is that we are using as a tool? Could the ego be a safety mechanism that has been allowed for whatever reasons, to exceed its purpose?

In some cultures, magick known as prayers is used as a means of communication with Deity. Does magick have but one specific intended use? And if so, are all other uses of such energy but an abuse of its original intended use?

Within these same cultures, when an event that is normally beyond the capacity of mere mortals, occurs, it is called a miracle.

Are these so called miracles really but a form of the same energy that others would call magick? Can we as humans in fact manifest these miracles by employing this energy? Or should such manifestations be the sole province of deity?

And while we are on the subject, does this energy have a shelf life?

Does it become stronger with use, opening even more avenues of discovery and power as one venture along the path, or does it weaken from non-use and/or the cultural disbelief in such a power?

Or is it simply a neutral tool offered by the powers to be, with many different attachments waiting to be realized by humanity.

Regardless of what name we call this energy or by what concept we use to identify with it, this gift has surpassed all boundaries of cultural, religious and societal beliefs. It is found in all aspects and fiber of this existence that we call life. It is a dominant force, often in a passive way, in basically everything that we do as humans. As such we may most likely only achieve but a peripheral understanding of such a complicated and diverse force.

Perhaps one day when we become as one with deity, a more comprehensive understanding of such a gift will be made known to us. But until such a revelation is proffered by the powers that be, we should always strive to understand as much as we are able to in order to effectively use such energy in a way that is both constructive and meaningful to our personal lives and not only our personal lives but to those around us as well.

As members of a diverse community, we have a responsibility to contribute to the health and well being of our community. Because of the diversity of society, there will always be divergent views as to what this energy is or in how it is to be used. But at the end of the day, how we use such energy is still an individual decision.

There are certain pagans, in particular Wiccans, who believe that whatever energy is sent out will return to the originator threefold.
As a traditional witch, I personally am not so sure that such a transfer is so cut and dry, but in general such a concept is a good yardstick or learning curve to adhere to.

I personally do not consider myself a master for I do not believe in such a being outside of deity. Rather I am a student of life with lots of questions. For without such questions there are no answers.
And quite frankly I don’t have answers to many of the questions that I have asked here. What few answers I may have are based upon my personal life experiences.

As pagans we are each individual and thus should answer such questions as they pertain to each person in regards to ones own beliefs and practices…

Your Tarot Card for September 11th is Temperance

Temperance

Wednesday, Sep 11th, 2013

What is traditionally known as the Temperance card is a reference to the Soul. Classically female, she is mixing up a blend of subtle energies for the evolution of the personality. One key to interpreting this card can be found in its title, a play on the process of tempering metals in a forge.

Metals must undergo extremes of temperature, folding and pounding, but the end product is infinitely superior to impure ore mined from the earth. In this image, the soul volunteers the ego for a cleansing and healing experience which may turn the personality inside-out, but which brings out the gold hidden within the heart. (This card is entitled “Art” in the Crowley deck.)

Feng Shui News for Sept. 10th – 'Sapphire'

The birthstone of the month of September is the mystical, magical sapphire, long considered a powerful amulet by many different ancient traditions. It’s believed that wearing this gem close to the skin will bless the wearer with protection against the ‘evil eye’ while bringing comfort and courage as well. This stone strengthens memory, arouses inspiration and protects against envy. But my favorite information attached to the sapphire is that even if it gets lost, stolen or sold, it still continues to bring blessings to the original owner. And, true to its name, the stellar sapphire is believed to bring success. So whether your birthday is this month or not, you can still take advantage of the high vibes attached to a super stellar stone.
