Spell for Thursday – Protection Spells

(YOU CAN COPY AND PASTE ANY SPELLS POSTED TO A DOCUMENT TO PRINT AND/OR SAVE ON YOUR COMPUTER FOR PERSONAL USE ONLY)

Protection Spells

Protection spells are intended to prevent, protect, and repel danger. Many find this category confusing so lets be very clear. There is no magic spell that functions exactly like an around response from a personal security guard one might hire for service. Locking your door may prevent a human thief. However, certain danger can only be repelled by magical methods. These dangers include:

*Malicious spells, hexes, jinxes, magic “tricks” or negative enchantment cast deliberately against one person by another.

*The evil eye

*Assorted spiritual danger deriving from a vast variety of spiritual sources. These may be caused deliberately or inadvertently.

Although these dangers derive from magical and spiritual roots, they may manifest in very physical ways, as illness, accidents, and general disaster. However, because there derivation is at least partly magical, prevention and remedies must also be at least partly magical.

Tips for successfully casting Protection spells

* Number 5: The number of fingers on each hand is the number most associated with magical protection, as are the magic numbers Seven and Nine.

*Color: Red, black, and blue are the colours most associated with magical protection.

(Note Protection is different from Reversing)

Welcome to WOTC! A Thought for Today

We all possess magick in our hearts and spirits. Those of us who choose to learn who we are at our core walk a spiritual path closer to Mother Earth/Gaia.

I am moving slowly this morning and taking a few more breaks so I am not sitting as long with my knee bent. All the regular daily posts will get up hopefully this morning. We will be snuggly at home until at least Tuesday because of – 0F wind chill temperatures. Our furnace is being funny and we don’t want to take the chance of us not being home the furnace quitting with the possibility of lots of things going wrong especially Crystal or Merlin getting sick. Merlin just finished a round of antibiotics for an upper respiratory infection with him almost 13 years old we are watching his health more closely than when he was younger. Crystal wants to stay outside to play even with these brrrr temps but of course, we don’t let her. Please watch how long your companion is out in the winter as their paws can get frostbite as well as their ears and nose.

May your and your family’s lives be filled with love, happiness, laughter, joy, and positive things!

Blessed be.

Spell for Tuesday – Powerful Egg Shell Protection

(YOU CAN COPY AND PASTE ANY SPELLS POSTED TO A DOCUMENT TO PRINT AND/OR SAVE ON YOUR COMPUTER FOR PERSONAL USE ONLY)

Powerful Egg Shell Protection Spell

(SIDE NOTE from Lady Carla Beltane: To clean eggshells of that film that stays after you use the egg for whatever run the eggshell under as hot of water that is comfortable for you while gently moving a finger around the inside the shell. Then place the eggshells open side up into an empty egg carton to dry thoroughly. After they are thoroughly dry, I place them on my pastry sheet and use a rolling pin to crush them.)

Waste not want not applies to more than just meals! We believe that all ingredients and, what some would call trash, contain powerful symbolic magic.

And today, we’re going to harness the symbolism of the strong, powerful egg shell in our newest protection spell.

This spell leverages the potent symbolism of the egg, representing life, potential, and protection. As always, while spell ingredients provide energy to propel our manifestation, the power lies within your intention, the faith you have in the process, and the energy you infuse into it.

As you cast this spell, focus on the symbolism of the egg as a container of life and potential, as well as its shell as a protective barrier.

Egg Shell Protection Spell

Prep Time1minute
Spell Time10minutes
Total Time11minutes

Materials

White Candles

Bowl

Salt

Permanent Marker optional

Whole Pasteurized Egg Shell

Instructions

Cleanse: Begin by creating a safe and sacred space. If desired, cleanse the space with smoke from sage or your favorite cleansing herbs. Light the white candles and place them on your altar or sacred space.
Consecrate: If you wish, you can use the marker to draw symbols on the egg that are meaningful to you and represent protection. These could be runes, sigils, or other symbols associated with protection in your personal practice.
Visualize: Hold the egg in your hands. Close your eyes and visualize yourself or what you want to be protected is living inside of the eggshell. Imagine that the eggshell is keeping you safe from negative energies or influences that may be affecting you.

Protect: Pour salt into the bowl, and place the egg int the center. As you do this, recite the following incantation (or one of your own creation):

“Shell of life, pure and round, Ward off harm, guard my ground. By the power of earth and sea, As I will it, so mote it be.”

Manifest: Leave the egg within the salt circle on your altar or sacred space for as long as you feel is necessary. Some people might choose to leave it overnight, while others might choose to leave it for several days.
Close: End the ritual by closing your sacred space in your chosen manner. You might choose to do this by extinguishing your candles, thanking any spirits or deities you invoked, or simply stating your intention to close the space.
Clean Up: Once you feel the spell is complete, take the egg outside and return it to the earth. You can do this by burying it in the ground or breaking it and scattering it in a garden or forest. As you do so, thank the egg and release any negative energies it has absorbed.

Spell For Thursday – Money Spell to Overcome Financial Blockages

(YOU CAN COPY AND PASTE ANY SPELLS POSTED TO A DOCUMENT TO PRINT AND/OR SAVE ON YOUR COMPUTER FOR PERSONAL USE ONLY)

Money Spell to Overcome Financial Blockages

If you’ve tried other spells without any success or you feel something is blocking you from attracting money, you can try this spell. This is especially powerful for any financial blockages you may be experiencing. This spell will free up the money logjam and allow the money to start flowing to you. The sage will cleanse, while the pine imbues the energy of immortality, vitality and never-ending luck. The essential oil of vetiver clears away stubborn blocks to money. Jasmine is an attractor and opens the pathways for money to enter your life.

Basic Supplies

  • Sage smudge stick
  • Gold candle (votive or pillar)
  • Candle holder
  • Matches or lighter

Anointing Oil Supplies

  • 1/8 cup of olive oil, coconut oil or grapeseed oil
  • 2-3 drops Jasmine essential oil
  • 2-3 drops Vetiver essential oil
  • Small bowl to mix oils
  • 1 pair disposable plastic gloves

Blockage Breaking Supplies

  • Gold ink pen
  • Green piece of paper
  • Citrine stone
  • 1/8 teaspoon of dried thyme
  • 1/8 teaspoon dried rose petals
  • Mortar and pestle
  • Fireproof bowl
  • Pine incense stick

Step One: Smudge Room

Clear your room of all negative energies using a sage smudge stick. Extinguish it once you’ve cleared the room.

Step Two: Light Pine Incense

Before you begin the work, light the pine incense and clear your mind of all fears and apprehensions. You can recite a mantra or say a prayer when you light the incense. Create a circle of protection around you.

Step Three: Use Mortar and Pestle

Using the mortar and pestle, crush the dried thyme and rose petals together until they are a powder. Set aside.

Step Four: Write Your Desire in Gold

One the green paper, use the gold ink pen to write down your money desire. It’s best to keep it short and open ended so the universe can give you the best of your desires. Once completed, pour the crushed thyme and rose petals into the center of the paper. Gather the four corner and twist them together, to form a pouch. Set aside.

Step Five: Mix Oils

Using the small bowl, pour the carrier oil (olive, coconut or grapeseed), jasmine and vetiver essential oils together. Gently swirl oils to blend.

Step Six: Dress Candle

The gold candle represents the gold mineral dug out of the Earth and has powerful energies. Don the disposable gloves, dip fingertips into the bowl of mixed oils and anoint the candle starting at the top and pulling the oil down the candle length. Repeat until the entire candle has been dressed with the oil. Set in the candle holder. Remove gloves and dispose of them.

Step Seven: Mantra for Lighting of Candle

While lighting the candle repeat a favorite mantra, slowly and deliberately while thinking of your money goal. You may prefer to repeat a money-oriented mantra. You can use this one:

“Money, Money, I call to thee,
Come now in answer to my summons,
Cross through all blocks and barriers,
Find this path I create just for thee,
Take up your new home with me
and stay forever.”

Step Eight: Burn Paper and Herbs

Visualize stacks of money coming to attention and marching toward you and through your front door. Imagine the money stacking up in your home, more and more bundled bills jumping onto the stacks. Pick up the green paper pouch you made and hold one corner to the candle flame. Let it burn for a while, then safely place it into the fireproof bowl. The pouch should burn up until it self-extinguishes.

Step Nine: Allow Candle and Incense to Burn Out

You want the candle and incense to burn out. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Don’t extinguish the candle. It will sabotage this spell and break it before it has time to cast.

Step Ten: Close Protection Circle

Once the work is complete, close your protection circle. You should experience a shift in your money/financial within the next 28 days. It usually requires a full lunar cycle for spells to manifest, but sometimes they can be much faster.

When Candles Self-Extinguish Too Soon

Some candles self-extinguish before burning up. In such cases, take the remains of the candle and bury it outside your home or office. Some people prefer to bury these in a glass jar at night as per their ritual. You will need to cast your spell a second time.

Resistant Candle Burning

If you have difficulties with your candle not completely burning, you may need to cast a banishment spell first by using a black candle (be sure to dress it, too). The black candle will remove negative obstacles. Once the black candle spellwork is completed, you can proceed with the money spell and your gold candle should now fully burn.

Wednesday is just a lucky day. When doing money work, I love to do it on a Wednesday. I enchanted my own website using geomantic glyphs during a waxing moon on a what? A Wednesday. Acquisitio and Conjunctio. Mercury is a quick little dude with those wings on his shoes. Travel, luck, focus, communication are all good on a Wednesday. I also like to divine with cards and charms on this day and have heard it’s also great for runes. Another thing about this day and an interesting note is that if you are doing any kind of spell to distract, hide or mislead, this is the day for such fuckery. Mercury is a sneaky little dude. Play the lottery or lay some tricks. See what happens. I don’t judge and most likely wanna hear all about these things anyway. Great day to say what the fuck you really mean.

Inguz

The Viking rune for new beginnings is Inguz, which signifies rebirth and renewal, offering hope and guidance. It symbolizes potential, fertility, and the beginning of an entirely new cycle. This rune’s traditional interpretation is a reminder to take advantage of opportunities to make positive changes in life—to cast off old ways of thinking and behaving that are no longer productive or beneficial.

Inguz is also associated with making sound decisions based on intuition rather than logic alone. It encourages one to see the future more clearly instead of dwelling on the past. The message this rune brings is that while there may be setbacks or disappointments along the way, ultimately, it will lead to growth and abundance if we can focus our energy on making good choices consistently.

What’s the meaning of Inguz?…

The Black Rune

The Black Rune – Keywords: Difficulty, pain.

Meanings: This is a rune of difficultyand negative influences will rule your life for a time, but as all difficulties are a learning experience it will lead to improved personal perspective and progress on your life’s path. Always consult the surrounding runes with this stone. If it lies with a positive stone it indicates that the pain of this experience will lead to a beneficial change in circumstances.

Beith/Beth

Intention, beginnings, births, pioneer spirit

Birch (Betula spp.)

Letter: B

Well dignified: An intention with good potential. Bravery. Breaking free. Ending bad habits. Getting unstuck. The start of something good. A new way of thinking. An invention or fresh approach. The ability of getting outside yourself and fossilized modes of thinking. Breaking out of the box. Being the change instead of just talking about it.

Humans learn through mimesis, so it is only because of the brave souls willing to put their necks out for change that anything improves in the world. Beith indicates the willingness to follow through with an intention so you can change yourself and your world for the better. At first, it’s possible nobody will follow you, but Beith says you have the courage to get it done.

Every day is a new opportunity to become a better person than you were yesterday, no matter how tiny the improvement. What can you do, even if it is a tiny action or possibly inaction depending on the circumstance, to be kinder, braver, humbler, more honest with yourself, more generous, and more grateful than you were yesterday, last week, last year, or last decade?

Beith ill-dignified excess: Too many ideas
Confused and contrary intentions. The need to limit ideas or prevent a bad idea from coming to fruition. Being on the bleeding edge, not understanding consequences when you hurl yourself at a thing. An idea that is destined for failure, like going on a diet or attempting to get rich quick. Bitterness when you have a great idea that everybody rejects because you are the first person to do it; being too far ahead of your time. Possibly having a misguided, too vague, or even toxic intention that you’ve refused to examine the cold light of morning. Too many good ideas — a great problem to have, but you don’t have infinite time to pursue them all. Throw some in the fire.

Hexagram Three/3

Name: Chun.

Keyphrase: Problems At The Beginning.

Formed By The Trigrams: Water over Thunder.

General: The first step towards true learning is acknowledging your inexperience.

Love: Provided you learn from the problem you have encountered you will get past the current stumbling block.

Business: Assess your business honestly and see how you could do better business.

Personal: If you have hit a setback then make adjustments to your lifestyle and the setback will only be temporary.

Overview: Chun is a reminder that although problems may be encountered they are often only brief – just like a thunderstorm. And like the land that benefits from the extra rain you too can benefit provided you learn from what has happened. Once any obstacle has been surmounted then your project will have the chance to thrive. But you need to be wary of reckless action. Recognize misleading and corrupt influences and forge alliances with those that are trustworthy. You are most at risk if you let your ignorance blind you to how much you have to learn.

Gods – Cu Chulainn 1 of the Most Famous Celtic Mythological Heroes

Cu Chulainn would be a demi-god, but the Celtic pantheon does not have demigods.

The Story of Cu Chulainn

Cu Chulainn is one of the most famous Celtic mythological heroes. He appears in the stories of the Ulster Cycle, and Scottish and Manx folklore. He was said to be the son of Deichtine and the god Lugh, and the nephew of Conchobar mac Nessa, the King of Ulster. His given name at birth was Setanta but he gained the name Cu Chulainn, meaning ‘Culann’s Hound’ after he killed a ferocious guard dog belonging to a smith named Culann. Cu Chulainn offered to take the place of the guard dog until a replacement could be reared.

The stories of Cu Chulainn’s childhood, which date back to the 9th century, are many. It is said that as a small child, he had asked incessantly to be allowed to join the boy-troop at Emain Macha (today known as Navan Fort in County Armagh, Northern Ireland). According to the legend, he sets out on his own, and eventually runs onto the playing field at Emain, unaware of the custom of asking for protection. The other boys see this as a challenge, and attack Setanta, but he beats them all single-handedly as he carries the trait of ‘ríastrad’, in which he undergoes a sort of distortion, becoming an unrecognizable monster who knows neither friend nor foe. King Conchobar put a stop to the fight.

In the next part of the story, Culann the smith invites Conchobar to his home for a feast.

At this point, Conchobar is so impressed by Setanta that he asks him to join the dinner. Setanta is unable to attend right away, but promises to join them at Culann’s house later. However, Conchobar forgets, and Culann lets loose his ferocious hound to protect his house. On arrival at their house, Setanta is forced to kill the guard dog in self-defense. Culann is devastated at the loss of his guard dog and Setanta feels so bad that he offers to rear a new one, and to guard Culann’s house until the new dog is ready to do so.

When Cu Chulainn is seven years old, he overhears a druid named Cathbad teaching pupils at Emain Macha. Cathbad states that any pupil who takes arms that day would have everlasting fame. Desiring everlasting fame, Cu Chulainn goes to King Conchobar to ask for arms. Conchobar gives Cu Chulainn many arms to try, but none can withstand Cu Chulainn’s strength until finally Conchobar gives him his own arms. Unfortunately, Cu Chulainn did not listen to Cathbad’s full prophecy, and he was unaware that a pupil who took arms that day would have everlasting fame, but a short life.

As Cu Chulainn gets older, he decides he would like to take Emer, daughter of Forgall Monach as a wife. However, Forgall is opposed to this, and tells Cu Chulainn that he should train with Scottish warrior-woman, Scáthach. Forgall’s true intent is that Cu Chulainn will be killed. While Cu Chulainn is gone, Forgall offers Emer to Lugaid mac Nóis, a king of Munster, but when the king learns that she loves Cu Chulainn, he refuses to take her hand.

Scáthach teaches Cu Chulainn all the arts of war. His fellow trainees include Ferdiad, who becomes Cú Chulainn’s best friend and foster-brother. During his training with Scáthach, Cu Chulainn comes to face Aife, Scáthach’s rival. Although the two are evenly matched, Cu Chulainn eventually seizes Aife, and demands that she bear him a son. While Aife is pregnant, Cu Chulainn leaves Scotland, and returns to his love Emer, but Forgall still refuses to allow the marriage. Enraged, Cu Chulainn storms Forgall’s fortress, kills twenty-four of his men, abducts Emer, and steals Forgall’s treasure. Forgall falls to his death.

King Conchobar fears the marriage of Cu Chulainn and Emer, because Conchobar has the “right of the first night” over all marriages and is afraid of Cu Chulainn’s reaction if he sleeps with Emer. On the other hand, Conchobar will lose all his power and authority over his subjects if he doesn’t. The druid Cathbad suggests that Conchobar sleep with Emer, but Cathbad sleep between them.

After eight years pass by, Cu Chulainn’s son by Aife, Connla, comes to find him. When Connla refuses to identify himself, Cu Chulainn kills him. As Connla dies, his final words are that he and Cu Chulainn could have “carried the flag of Ulster to the gates of Rome and beyond,” leaving Cu Chulainn grief-stricken.

Several years pass, and Cu Chulainn rides out to face a group of men who have conspired to kill him. They are all sons of men he had killed. On his way, he encounters three one-eyed hags eating a feast of roast dog. They invite him to join them.  Cu Chulainn had several gessa, which are self-declared taboos which, if broken, would lead to his inevitable downfall. Two of his gessa were to never eat dog meat, and to never refuse hospitality. At this junction, he has no choice but to break one of his gessa. He takes one bite and places the bone under his thigh. The hand he used and his thigh are immediately weakened. Cu Chulainn continues on his journey, and is eventually killed while fighting his conspirators. When he received his fatal wound, he tied himself to a pillar so he would die standing and facing his enemies. As the prophecy foretold, Cu Chulainn had reached fame but died at a young age.

The legends of Cu Chulainn are still told to this day. As a mythological hero, the stories of his strength and power have lived on, re-told throughout the years in many ways. Today, the image of Cú Chulainn is invoked by both Irish and Ulster (Northern Ireland) nationalists. Irish nationalists see him as the most important Celtic Irish hero, while unionists see him as an Ulsterman defending the province from enemies to the south.
