Spell for Today – Elemental Road Opener Spell: Wiccan Prayer to Unlock Paths
From spells8.com
Road opener rituals are great for finding the way out of a stagnant situation and moving forward in life. If you are feeling stuck or having a hard time with a specific problem 🔗, this simple spell might help you find the right course of action.
This is a road opening ritual inspired by Mexican bruja Yeel Maló, who works with the ray of Archangel Gabriel, the celestial messenger. The spell recipe on this page has been modified to invoke the Universal Elements instead.
You can dedicate this prayer to a different patron saint or deity. If you need inspiration for your devotional practice, visit today’s ruling deities or learn about the God and Goddess of Wicca.
How this Spell Works
Also known as “Abrecaminos“, a road opener prayer is similar to an uncrossing or block buster in Hoodoo or American rootwork. It directs the intention toward untangling, removing obstacles. This easy candle burning ritual will clear your thoughts toward finding the solution to any problem.
While you can find “road opener” oils and candles in many stores, this type of ritual can be done at home with only kitchen ingredients.
We will work with each of the 4 Elementals for a Wiccan ritual.
‣ A bowl of water will symbolize the Water Element 💧
‣ A crystal or gemstone for the Earth💎
‣ An incense stick for the Air ☁️
‣ And a candle for Fire 🔥
What incense should I use? Pick an aroma that matches your intention. You can browse the Green Witch course to learn about the properties of different herbs. Cinnamon is a great option because of its warm, comforting smell that sanctifies the ritual area.
If you don’t have a crystal or gemstone for this spell, use a bowl filled with kitchen salt instead.
Road Opener Wiccan Candle Ritual
An easy road opener spell with a candle and a Wiccan prayer. Invoke the 4 elementals to clear and unlock solutions to your problems.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
-
Bowl of water (regular drinking water)
-
1 incense stick
-
1 crystal or gemstone (pick one according to the day)
-
1 white candle
HOW TO DO A ROAD OPENER SPELL
- Arrange your items on the altar. Each element will face one of the four directions: Water faces West. Air faces East. Earth faces North. Fire faces South.
- Light the incense. The Air element is entering your ritual.
- Rub your hands for a few seconds until you can feel a warm energy, visualize a ball of energy and hold your crystal, you are invoking the Earth element.
- Light the candle to call upon the presence of the Fire element.
- Gently dip a finger in the water to feel the company of the Water element. Water represents a state of flow, a mirror that can open the door to a new reality. This transforming energy will clear all blockages.
- Chant the following road opener prayer:

- Visualize an empty road. Meditate for a few minutes as you see yourself moving forward.
- Let the candle burn completely and always practice candle safety. If you need to leave the room, put out the candle and continue burning it later.
- Once the candle is burned, toss all remains away while saying Thank you. Keep the crystal close to you. If you need to invoke the power of this spell, rub your hands and hold it in your hands again.
More Information About Road Opener Spells
From spells8.com
What’s the best Moon phase for a road opener spell?
The New Moon or Waxing Crescent Moon phases are perfect for casting a road opener spell because they symbolize new beginnings. The start of a lunar cycle is ideal for spiritual works of renewal and fresh starts.
What day to do a road opener spell?
Any day of the week will work, but you can choose a specific day according to your intentions: If you’re working on a road opener for love, it’s best to do it on a Friday. If this is a job finding ritual, Sunday or Monday are your best options. For a great road opener spell for money, cast it on a Thursday instead.
What is “Abre Camino”?
Abre camino translates literally from Spanish as “Road opener”. Known as Common Boneset in English, Eupatorium villosum is native to the Caribbean and can be found mainly in Puerto Rico and Cuba.
Abre camino rituals don’t necessarily use the abrecamino plant, and sometimes use various other plants and ingredients.
When to do road opener spell?
Cast a road opener spell if you are feeling stuck in your current situation. For example, there are students who are in school and can’t advance or aren’t getting good enough grades. We say their paths are blocked. With a road opener ritual these paths will be cleared once and for all. Their mind will be clear and they will understand what they need to do in order to graduate or improve their grades.
If you are trying to buy or sell a house and feel that you’re stuck or can’t move forward with all the paperwork, this ritual is also very helpful. If you’re going through a court case or immigration procedure and feel that your case is not going anywhere or they’re not giving you any answers, this ritual will help you.
What does a road opener spell do?
Road opener rituals help remove anything that prevents you from moving forward. They offer a safe attempt to eliminate obstacles or barriers in a similar way to an Uncrossing Ritual. A road opener or unblocking ritual will help you change a circumstance that is adverse. We do with by placing the energy where it needs to be (the solution) and taking it away from where we don’t want it (the problem).
Many of these rituals include prayers to Catholic saints such as the road opener to St Cyprian or St Cajetan (San Cayetano). There are also novenas, long candle burning rituals and offerings for the opening of roads.
How to make this ritual more effective?
Take a cleansing bath before you begin. Use road opener herbs such as cinnamon, basil or lemon. Dress your candle with an essential oil that matches your intention.
Focus on the necessary opening for your situation. Many times we wish to open a door that we don’t really need to open. When you make a petition or wish, you can say: “I am receiving __________ and if this is not what I require, let the Universe show me what will bring me growth.”
Have faith. Everything that is done with great faith is ultimately achieved. Use the mental and spiritual energy that you naturally have. Whenever you are going to do cast a spell, put all your energy into it.
No January Monthly Posts as They are on the Yearly Posts

Merry meet and merry greet dear Sisters and Brothers in The Craft. I hope your year has started off on a positive note.
As you probably tell my New Year’s Eve Day and so far, New Year’s Day has been spent at my desk doing posts for your enjoyment and to be informed of things happening this year. After a total of 14 hours in 2 days my body is telling me it is time to rest it so I can get posts done tomorrow and so forth. Also, Big Dawg (formally Lord Beltane. He decided to pick a name for me to use on here…lol) would like to spend some time with me. So, with all of that said I figured since the January monthly posts are included at the top of the yearly posts there is no need to be repetitive by posting them separately.
I have tried many different keywords to find a Moon phase calendar that is just for January 2023 but no luck. If anyone feels like looking for one and emailing me at ladybeltane@witchesofthecraft.com with a link to one, I would really appreciate it.
It is time to make the finishing touches to our dinner so until tomorrow… Merry part and blessed be until we merry meet again. From me to every member of the WoTC family I send a big hug.
Lady Carla Beltane January’s Gratitude and Afirmation Lists
I try to write a personal gratitude and affirmation lists on the first of every month. I place it on the top of my clipboard that has some of my more used passwords, current month’s budget, and other miscellaneous paperwork I like to keep close at hand when I am working. Yes, my full-time job is all parts of WoTC – the website/blog, School of Witchcraft, Life in The Craft magazine, chats and Sabbat gatherings with the school’s Heart’s Spirit Coven, answering emails, reviewing novice and adept level apprentices lessons. Besides doing different types of divination readings, clearing auras and chakras, cleansing, and blessing clients’ homes. I also do Handfastings, Wiccanings, and Crossing the Veil ceremonies. So I do get burned out some days and that’s when my gratitude and affirmation lists is very helpful.
You might want to write one or both lists yourself. They can help you, as they do me, to feel better on days everything seems to be going wrong by being able to read all the positive things in your life
Lady B’s Gratitude list
I’m grateful for having a warm, dry, cozy home
I’m grateful for having my twin flame, Big Dawg, in my life and the love he shows me in many ways every day and that he totally accepts me for me, including supporting my spiritual and magickal path
I’m grateful for having enough food and beverages in our home for humans and fur kids
I’m grateful for the love I give to and receive from all 4 fur kids (we have a blended family-Big Dawg had 2 large breeds and I had 2 toy breeds when we moved in together. Amazingly, they all get along from day 1)
I’m grateful we could get each other a little something for this past Yule/Christmas (Big Dawg follows some Christian beliefs)
I’m grateful for my Social Security Disability monthly payments
I’m grateful to have good health insurance
I’m grateful we should be able to catch up our bills that fell behind when we had covid
I’m grateful to have a website dedicated to the Goddess (and Gods) where I can share information with others
I’m grateful for having a way to mentor young (in The Craft, not age) witches
Lady B’s Affirmation List
I am beautiful even with some extra weight
I can get posts done everyday.
It doesn’t matter if posts go live a little late
I can take my 2 fur girls for a walk everyday
It is OK not to be liked by everyone
Being a Pagan Witch doesn’t make me a bad person
It is fine to be out of the broom closet and wear a pentacle proudly

A Final 2022 Laugh for Today from WOTC

This especially works for me in the time between Yule 2022 and January 2023
Next Year Goal(s) NOT Resolutions
It is very common for people to make a new year’s resolution or two. I on the other set a goal for the year and break it into 11 pieces. So I closer to the end goal to happen in December each month.
This year, my goal is to try to lose 2 pounds every month. I am a short woman at 5 feet 3 inches tall, having degenerative disc disease, arthritis, and fibromyalgia weighing 171 pounds makes my pain a lot worse. So, losing between 20 and 24 pounds will help with my physical problems a whole lot.
As i have asthma and quite a few environmental allergies, which effect my breathing. My other goal, which may make my first goal a little harder at the beginning of the year, is to stop smoking cigarettes and getting my regular vape oil down to 0% nicotine. I have not quite figured out the monthly steps for this goal yet, but when I do, I will share them.
Using the term “goal ” is a more positive word, and breaking down a big goal into smaller parts makes it easier to meet. Rather than a resolution that reminds me of a law that should not be broken. Therefore, by not keeping a resolution I am breaking a law with myself. So, to me, the word resolution is a very negative one.
Any thoughts on a goal you might like to set for yourself for 2023? If I can help you with it, just let me know.

In Keeping With Honoring Other Spiritual Paths Holidays – History of Christmas

Christmas is celebrated on December 25 and is both a sacred religious holiday and a worldwide cultural and commercial phenomenon. For two millennia, people around the world have been observing it with traditions and practices that are both religious and secular in nature. Christians celebrate Christmas Day as the anniversary of the birth of Jesus of Nazareth, a spiritual leader whose teachings form the basis of their religion. Popular customs include exchanging gifts, decorating Christmas trees, attending church, sharing meals with family and friends and, of course, waiting for Santa Claus to arrive. December 25—Christmas Day—has been a federal holiday in the United States since 1870.

How Did Christmas Start?
The middle of winter has long been a time of celebration around the world. Centuries before the arrival of the man called Jesus, early Europeans celebrated light and birth in the darkest days of winter. Many peoples rejoiced during the winter solstice, when the worst of the winter was behind them and they could look forward to longer days and extended hours of sunlight.
In Scandinavia, the Norse celebrated Yule from December 21, the winter solstice, through January. In recognition of the return of the sun, fathers and sons would bring home large logs, which they would set on fire. The people would feast until… Click here to read the rest of this article on history.com

Making Changes to the Regular Daily Posts
I am only going repost the Daily and Birthday Horoscope. The Today in History, A Laugh for Today and A Thought for Today on the correct date. The rest will stay on the day before.
After making sure something is posted every day for over 620 consecutive days I need to cut back on my computer time. This is due to the cold weather having a field day with my joints from arthritis and Degenerative Disc Disease making it very hard to sit in my desk chair. I will do the best I can but I do have physical problems that can keep me from uncomfortable to pain so bad I do not even want to get up to use the necessary room. Yeah, on a pain scale from 1 to 10 on a good day, hovers around 4 and 5 on real bad days, the number does not go high enough.
I also get discouraged running WOTC because I get very little feedback from you my dear readers. I have asked this question before but I feel it needs asking again. Would you work a job 6 to 7 days a week, 4 to 6 hours daily and recieve pennies per hour? Me working to keep WOTC fresh daily with new posts is a labor of love on my part but as we know love needs to be returned in some way. So I askbthat when you are reading something and you enjoyed it or learned from it please just click “Like” like you would on a social media website. I thank you in advance for the Like clicks. If you want tobleave a comment too fantastic
If this means I lose a few readers I am very sorry you do not my changes for my mental, spiritual, and physical health so be it.
To everyone who sticks around, I sincerely thank you for your support, patience, and understanding. I will strive to do my best daily, but some days my best is just getting out of bed.
