Thursday is the fifth day of the week.   In the Norse languages this day is called Torsdag, honoring Thor, the god of strength, fertility, thunder, the protector and defender in war, and son of Odin.  Thor is the counterpart of Zeus (Greek), and Jupiter or Jove (Roman).  Thor, the most beloved of the great gods of northern mythology, is the only god who cannot cross from earth to heaven across the rainbow bridge, for he is so heavy and powerful that the gods fear it will break under his weight.  It was said that whenever his hammer Mjollnir, was thrown, it would produce a thunderbolt and when struck against stone, it would create lightning.

Spell for Tomorrow – Fairy Wishing Spell

FAIRY MAGICK

Because fairies are connected to nature, their spells are usually performed outdoors. A small brook, a secret lily pond, the base of your favorite tree, or a field of wild flowers all make excellent settings for fairy magick. Even large, lush window boxes, overflowing with fragrant herbs and delicate blossoms, can serve as a haven for the wee folk.

Fairy Wishing Spell

For this spell you will need

a small white birthday candle,

a silver coin,

seven moon cookies (sugar cookies cut into crescent moons), and

a secluded wooded area where you can be alone.

As you walk through the woods, keep a close eye out for Fairy circles, small circular areas surrounded by inedible red fungi with white spots. It is believed that fairies meet within these rings to celebrate their magickal rites. When you find a fairy circle, carefully place your coin in the center of it. Set the candle on top of the coin, light it, and make your wish. When the candle has completely burned out, place the moon cookies around the coin, state your wish aloud, and then walk away. If you return to the spot and your coin and candle are gone, you will know that your wish has been granted.

Banish Procrastination NOW

Procrastinate (verb) :

“To keep delaying something that must be done, often because it is unpleasant or boring”.

One of the biggest obstacles to moving forward in life is the habit of postponing tasks, in other words, procrastinating. This is especially true when it comes to learning how to become a Witch. We all find ourselves postponing our daily meditations or find reasons not to cast spells other do our witches’ homework. 🔮

A spell to stop procrastinating should be quick and easy to do, otherwise we will postpone the casting of this very spell! That’s why this simple technique works. If the habit of procrastinating has become your number one enemy, try this easy Wiccan spell:

Simple spell for ending procrastination without ingredients. Stop procrastinating once and for all doing this easy ritual and get stuff done once and for all!

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Focus

HOW TO CAST THE SPELL

Think about the task you want to do, avoiding the words “I have to…” or “I should…”. These type of phrases imply that you have no choice, that you won’t do it unless you must. For example, never say to yourself: “I have to study”.

Say to yourself something like “I choose to study now”, or “I am ready to study” (replace with the task you are about to do). This way of thinking implies that you have control and it helps you avoid procrastination.

When you’re ready, count down in your head: 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 — and do it!

Quit whatever it is you are doing and get to work on the task.

10 Winter Solstice Rituals to Welcome the Season’s Magic

As the wheel of the year once again turns toward the chill of winter, I find myself eagerly anticipating the quiet hush that descends with the snow. The Winter Solstice, a time of equal night and day, beckons us into a world of stillness, a pause in the breath of the earth before the slow exhale into longer days.

This celestial event marks a pivotal point in our journey around the sun, a moment of balance before the scales tip towards the growing light. It’s a perfect moment to pause and think about what this change brings to our lives. Remember, everything in life is cyclical – there’s always something ending and something else beginning. Today, we’ve got a list of some of our favorite Winter Solstice Rituals to help you celebrate the end of long dark days.

What is the Winter Solstice?

The winter solstice is a point in time when the night is at its longest and the day its shortest. It is marked by the Sun’s most southerly position relative to the celestial equator, an occurrence that takes place around December 21 or 22 in the Northern Hemisphere and around June 20 or 21 in the Southern Hemisphere. This celestial event signifies the start of winter, a period that extends until the spring equinox.

Embracing the Stillness

The Winter Solstice invites us to embrace the stillness and the introspective nature of the season. It’s a profound time to gather close, sharing the warmth of hearth and home while feasting on winter’s offerings like root vegetables, hearty stews, nuts, and citrus fruits.

The winter solstice, also known as Yule, is the deepest part of winter – a time for rest and renewal. It’s celebrated with quiet reflection, cozy gatherings, and rituals that honor the longest night and the rebirth of the sun. It’s a moment to light candles, share stories, and set intentions for the returning light.

Each chapter of our lives brings its unique lessons, just as the seasons change and bring their own forms of energy. Honoring the winter solstice helps us to cultivate inner strength and resilience as we navigate life’s colder, more reflective times.

The Wheel of the Year turns, and with it, we find guidance for living a life of harmony. It teaches us to flow with the natural rhythms of the earth, celebrating our connection to the cycles of nature. By observing these ancient traditions, we align ourselves with the natural world, finding a more balanced approach to life that honors our need for rest, reflection, and connection during the winter months.

10 Winter Solstice Rituals

In the spirit of this introspective season, I invite you to join me in embracing the stillness through ten heartfelt Winter Solstice rituals that honor the quietude and depth of winter:

1) Welcome the Dawn

One of my favorite winter solstice rituals is to greet the new dawn. On the morning of the solstice, rise while the stars still twinkle in the pre-dawn sky, finding your place in the world’s hushed tones before the day begins. Stand in the crisp air, feeling the stillness of the earth, and watch with reverence as the horizon slowly brightens.

Engage all your senses as the first light creeps across the sky, expressing silent gratitude for the sun’s return after the longest night. Notice as the world transitions from night to day—perhaps it’s the frost sparkling on the grass, the early birds’ tentative chirping, or the fresh scent of pine in the cold morning air.

With the light’s gentle increase, offer your words of appreciation and love to the dawn. Speak of the beauty found in the quiet, the peace of the world at rest, and the promise of the lengthening days to come. You might leave behind a heartfelt gift to the morning—a written verse, a hand-drawn sketch, or a splash of water on the earth—anything that feels like a fitting tribute to the solstice morn.

As the sun rises, take a deep breath, filling your lungs with the cold, pure air, and then retreat indoors to enjoy a warm mug of winter spice herbal tea. This act of welcoming the dawn on the winter solstice is a profound reminder of the ever-turning wheel of the year and the continuous cycle of renewal and rebirth.

2) Candle Vigil

3) Take a Nature Walk

4) Sacred Smoke Bundle Creation

5) Journaling by Firelight

6) Craft Some Herbal Brews

7) Prepare an Ancestral Feast

8) Restorative Yoga

9) Night Sky Gazing

10) Bathe with the Herbs of the Winter Solstice

Spell For Summer Solstice – 10 Beautiful Rituals for Summer Solstice

(YOU CAN COPY AND PASTE ANY SPELLS POSTED TO A DOCUMENT TO PRINT AND/OR SAVE ON YOUR COMPUTER FOR PERSONAL USE ONLY)

10 Beautiful Rituals for Summer Solstice

Celebrate the first day of summer on December 21st with these rituals for summer solstice. May they bring you joy, love, and light in your life.

In nature-based faiths, the summer solstice is known as Litha and is considered one of the most sacred sabbats of the year. It marks the start of the summer months and the longest day of the year before the nights start to grow longer again.

People gather at Stonehenge for day and night long celebrations watching the sun align and shine through a certain point in the structure. In its most basic essence, this day is a celebration of the sun and that it is still shining on us. It will go out one day—but we should revel in our good fortune that we were born at this point in Earth’s evolution. The solstice also holds deeper nature metaphors for life, fertility, and the cycle of time and seasons. No matter what your view of spirituality or nature, it’s always worth celebrating when there’s sunshine involved!

It’s Summer Solstice!

What better time to get together with friends, family, and loved ones, and celebrate the source of all life? What better time to acknowledge the life force energy within us and give back to Creation some of the energy and blessings that we are always receiving. The Earth constantly provides for all of us with her incredible bounty, and the Sun’s warmth provides the light necessary for all living beings to thrive and prosper.

Creating ceremonies, celebrations, or rituals for summer solstice is a way for humans to express gratitude for these gifts. We have so many things to be thankful for—our families, our friends, our homes—and there are so many ways we can express our gratitude for those things: through words and actions, through gifts and offerings, through celebration.

The summer solstice is a great day on which to create your own ceremony or ritual of gratitude. It’s also a good time to connect with nature; find someplace where you can sit in silence with just yourself and your thoughts. There’s something invigorating about spending time alone in nature; it helps us reconnect with ourselves as well as with the natural world around us.

Rituals for Summer Solstice

1. Gather herbs

One of my favorite rituals for summer solstice is to gather plants and healing herbs as our ancestors did. Five common Celtic sacred plants associated with Midsummer are St. John’s Wort, Vervain, Yarrow, Fern, and Mugwort.

Manifold ceremonial features are associated with the Midsummer celebrations, but the lore of herbs and plants traditionally took the center spotlight around this special festivity. Herbs constitute a strong element for celebrating the Midsummer solstice due to their strong connections with magical and healing powers.

2. Have a Bonfire

3. Watch the Sun Rise and Set

4. Decorate Your Alter

5. Prepare a Summer Solstice Gathering

6. Bathe in the Light and Warmth of the Sun

7. Set Your Intentions

8. Spend Time in Nature

9. Leave Fairy Offerings

10. Create a Prayer Tree

Spell For Tomorrow – Removing an Obstacle

Removing an Obstacle

Binding Oil Recipe

Materials Required

  • 1 oz glass bottle
  • 15 drops dill oil
  • 30 drops arinse
  • 60 drops galangal
  • 15 drops hyssop
  • 60 drops myrrh

Be sure to mix the ingredients well so that they are properly blended. As you are mixing, think of things being bound from your life.

Spell

Materials Required

  • Binding oil
  • String
  • Piece of paper
  • Pencil or pen
  • Black candle
  • Match or lighter
  • Fire-proof bowl

The first step you will need to complete for this is to cast a circle (how you normally would when preparing for your workings) and to ensure that all of your materials are within reach.

You will light your candle first, black is generally used because it symbolizes the removal of something from your life.

Next, you will write the obstacle that you wish to see removed from your life on the piece of paper. After which, you will spend a few moments visualizing how you will work to remove this obstacle from your life. It is important to remember that spells can assist a great deal, but you also have to put in the necessary time, effort, and energy towards what you are looking to accomplish. When you are finished, you will then take the piece of paper and fold it so that it is smaller in size, and begin to wrap your string around it. As you are wrapping the string around the piece of paper, you can recite the following incantation:

As I wrap this cord, ________ will be no one.
_______ shall no longer be a part of my life.
This shall come to be.

When you have finished wrapping, you will then take a small amount of the binding oil, and put it on the obstacle you have wrapped in the string. After which, you will take it, and place it in the fireproof bowl, and set it aflame. As it burns, the following incantation, or something similar should be recited:

As this obstacle burns, so shall the power it has over me.
This obstacle shall hold no power over me.
As it burns, it shall be released release from my life.

After it has been burned to ash, you may close your circle. Once the ashes from your obstacle are cool to the touch, you may bury them somewhere away from your home so that they can cause no more harm.

June’s Strawberry Moon: Spiritual Meaning and Full Moon Ritual

It’s a great time for spells connected to love and abundance.

June’s Full Strawberry Moon will take place on June 21, 2024, the day following the Summer Solstice. When it comes to the Strawberry Moon’s spiritual meaning, it’s the time of the year to focus on love, abundance, and prosperity.

If that sounds similar to the Flower Moon, it’s because it is. Some of the themes that were just blooming then are coming into their peak now.

Full Moon spells, rituals, and correspondences for the Strawberry Moon are related to love and prosperity. In June 2024, the Full Moon is in Capricorn, so if there are some practical ways you can move forward on those goals, now is the time to put those ideas into place.

Why Is June’s Full Moon Called the Strawberry Moon?

We call it the Strawberry Moon because it is the name some Indigenous American tribes used to describe the time of the year when strawberries are ripe. Though, sometimes, the Moon itself looks slightly reddish.

June’s Moon may be the last Full Moon for spring, or in the case this year, the first Full Moon of summer. Many of its other names for this Moon are connected to the sense that everything is in flow and is coming to fruition.

June was named after the goddess Juno, the Roman Goddess of marriage and childbirth. And, according to NASA, “The tradition of calling the first month of marriage the “honeymoon” may be tied to this full Moon because of the custom of marrying in June or because the “Honey Moon” is the “sweetest” Moon of the year.” (Though, sometimes, the first full Moon following this would be in July.)

June’s Full Moon is also known as:

Gardening Moon (Ojibwe)

River Moon (Catawba)

Moon of Birthing (Inupiat)

Berries Ripen Moon (Haida)

Summer Moon (Tunica and Seneca)

Egg Laying Moon (Cree)

Honey Moon (Medieval Europe)

Mead Moon (Medieval Europe)

Rose Moon (Europe)

Simple Full Moon Ritual for the Strawberry Moon

Meditate or take a ritual bath to center and focus your energy on your intention. As the energy is more Earth-based this month, if you can meditate safely outside, you might find it more rewarding.

Cleanse the space using smoke from your preferred cleansing herb. Move the smoke around your altar in a clockwise manner. You may also create a circle using salt, flowers, or herbs. Create the circle in a clockwise fashion.

If you wish to charge Moon water, place water on your altar or where it will be bathed in the Moon’s light. Place any crystals you want to charge on your altar or where they will be under the moonlight.

Light the candles on your altar.

Use the journal prompts above or begin to journal about what you wish to let go of this Full Moon on one page. Write about what you wish to bring in on another. Do not judge yourself, simply let your intuition and higher self guide you. If you feel scattered, take a break to bring your focus back to your breath. Breathe slowly and mindfully, then begin again.

If you feel compelled to do so, you may burn the page containing what you wish to release. Do so in a fireproof bowl.

Stay in the calm, focused energy as long as desire, then thank the Moon, any deities you’ve worked with. In doing so, you will close the circle. If you have created a physical circle, remove it slowly and with intention in a counterclockwise fashion.

And trees that sway.”

To Protect a Sleeping Mind

You will need the following items for this spell:

Voice

Sleep is the time of dreams and visits. The following incantation repeated aloud at one’s bedtime will aid in the discouraging of unwanted visitors in the dreaming mind.

Before retiring for the night, repeat the following incantation aloud:

Find favor with mine call and plea,

Turned back to the dark depths

Turned back to the sender whose name is never spoken

That thus he may gain strength

Gain strength and threaten those unable

Unable or unknowing

Unknowing or innocent

Innocents in the world

Glitter

3. While holding the bottle, recite the incantation:
Water clear and bright, Changing, taking flight
Go from cold to warm, Help me to transform.”

Energy Building: Quick Chant to Manifest your Need

Want to help your need manifest faster? The key to helping your spells and intentions manifest faster is to have emotion and energy behind the intent! One of our favorite ways to raise energy, aside from drumming and dancing, is chanting! The elements are used heavily within this charm because they are the building blocks of existence on our plane.

This quick chant will help you find the rhythm of your circle’s energy, harness it, and add it to your spell. Simply:

  1. Begin chanting the following chant plus your spell.
  2. Feel the elemental building blocks of energy inside of your space.
  3. Know that they are aiding in your spell’s manifestation!
  4. When you feel the speed and energy of the chant mounting, dare to be silent and know that the charm has worked.

Quick Chant to Manifest your Need

This chant can be said with visualization or by passing your written spell over and through the elements as you say them. Always follow your heart and intuition.

As always, spells are worked best within a protective circle where energy can be contained and released intentionally.

Air for intellect

Fire to warm

Water for emotion

Earth to form

[Say your spell or intention for manifestation here]

Repeat as necessary.

Spell For Tomorrow – An Evaluation/Promotion Tarot Spell

(YOU CAN COPY AND PASTE ANY SPELLS POSTED TO A DOCUMENT TO PRINT AND/OR SAVE ON YOUR COMPUTER FOR PERSONAL USE ONLY)

Got an evaluation coming up at work? There is nothing worse than having to go over a review form. You know you deserve a good raise, but how much will your manager or the company be willing to dole out? Or are you trying for a promotion? Sounds like it’s time to hedge your bets, so to speak. Try your hand at this tarot spell.

Gather the following:

• A carnelian tumbled stone for success and to boost your career or a quartz crystal point for extra power
• 1 yellow or gold candle (white will do in a pinch-it’s an all-purpose color)
• Three tarot cards: the Ace of Wands, the Sun, and the Chariot
• An item in sympathy with the spell that you are casting

You can also add the health, wealth, and success philter to this spell if you wish. Just anoint the spell candle with the solar-powered oil you have created.

What exactly is an item of sympathy? It is any item that is sympathetic to what you are working for. Since this is a job-related spell, an item in sympathy could be your recent paycheck stub, ID badge, or your business card. So, with that thought in mind, adding this sympathetic item to your other correspondences only helps to unify the magick. It does this by uniting the energies and giving you something very specific to focus on.

Arrange your items in front of the candle. If you wish, anoint the spell candle with the philter. Now, light the spell candle and focus on the cards and your item of sympathy, pathy, and then repeat the spell below three times. Check out the last line of the spell and adjust this as necessary.

Just like the golden child who rides under the sun
I call for recognition of a job well done
This spell candle illuminates my way
Bring success and wealth to all my days
Goddess, bless my ambitions, they are fair and true
While this higher career goal/promotion I do now pursue.

Close the spell by saying:

For the good of all, with harm to none
By the sun and stars, this spell is done.

Let the candle burn until it goes out on its own. Keep the carnelian in your pocket or purse, and the cards and your item of sympathy together and on your person for one week, until the following Sunday.
