The current moon phase for today is the Waning Gibbous phase.

On this day, the moon is 19.71 days old and 79.53% illuminated with a tilt of -49.308°. The approximate distance from Earth to the moon is 400,078.12 km and the moon sign is Sagittarius.

The Moon phase for today is a Waning Gibbous phase. This is the first phase after the Full Moon where the illumination of the moon decreases each day until it reaches 50% (the Last Quarter phase).

The waning (shrinking) gibbous Moon will rise after sunset in the east, transit the meridian after midnight, before setting after sunrise in the west.

During this phase, the illumination of the moon will go down from 99.% to 50.1%. Technically, the phase starts as soon as the Full Moon has passed, but it can be difficult to calculate and differentiate the first stage of a Waning Gibbous Moon from a Full Moon when 98-99% of the Moon’s surface is illuminated.

Fun fact: the word Gibbous was first used in the 14th century and comes from the latin word gibbosus which means humpbacked.

Celtic Calendar Willow Tree Month April 15 to May 12

I am so sorry this is so late in going up. My only reason is it got lost in the shuffle of me trying to post northern and southern hemispheres information for the day before. I am not trying to make an excuse for my tardiness just giving you, my explanation. I hope you can still find this useful, and I will make a note to post the correct Celtic Tree Calendar on time for its next month.

Willow Moon: April 15 – May 12

The Willow moon was known to the Celts as Saille, pronounced Sahl-yeh. The Willow grows best when there’s lots of rain, and in northern Europe there’s no shortage of that this time of year. This is a tree associated with healing and growth, for obvious reasons. A Willow planted near your home will help ward away danger, particularly the type that stems from natural disaster such as flooding or storms. They offer protection, and are often found planted near cemeteries. This month, work on rituals involving healing, growth of knowledge, nurturing and women’s mysteries.

The Willow was a sacred tree to the Celts both for the wide range of materials it provided and for its unique beauty and spiritual presence.

It appears throughout the mythology of many cultures. In the Druid stories, the universe and all mankind was hatched from two scarlet eggs hidden within the willow tree. One egg formed the sun and the other the Earth.

In the seasonal festival of Beltane this story was re-enacted using painted eggs, a practice later adopted by the Christians and named Easter.

Tabernacles

In Hebrew culture the willow is associated with the Feast of the Tabernacles, where shelters were built using the branches of the willow, a tradition still followed in Jerusalem today.

In Greek mythology Willow was sacred to the Goddesses of the underworld, Persephone, Hecate, Circe and Hera. This was also the case in Celtic mythology where the willow was connected to the death goddesses representing dark, aspects of the psyche that require great understanding and challenge wisdom and strength.

In relation to these myths, the willow flower remedy is said to alleviate bitterness and resentment and benefit those who often blame others for their misfortunes. Willow leaves were often worn as charms to protect against jealousy and the wood of the willow inside and outside of a dwelling was said to protect against evil.

The Willow Craft

Willow had many practical uses in old Ireland, Britain and throughout the World, as well as spiritual ones.

It was used in the walls of houses as part of wattle and …

The current moon phase for today is the Full Moon phase.

On this day, the moon is 14.54 days old and 99.96% illuminated with a tilt of 106.542°. The approximate distance from Earth to the moon is 405,863.27 km and the moon sign is Libra.

The Moon phase for today is the Full Moon phase. In this phase, the moon is 100% illuminated when seen from Earth (hence the name Full Moon).

The Full Moon happens when the moon is on the opposite side of the Earth from the Sun. The sunlight fully illuminated the moon, and this is what we call being “full”. The moon will be visible throughout the night sky as it rises at sunset in the east, transits the meridian at midnight, before setting at sunrise in the west.

The specific point at which the Full Moon occurs can be measured down to a fraction of a second. The time that passes between full moons is called the Synodic month and is 29.530587981 days long.

Fun fact: lunar eclipses can only happen within a few days of the Full Moon, but they don’t happen for every Full Moon because the moon’s orbit has a 5.1° tilt around the Earth compared to Earth’s orbit around the Sun. Only when the intersection of these two orbits is pointing towards the centre of the Moon do we get a lunar eclipse.

All Signs

Life is “stirred up” and moving fast because almost half of the major planets are changing signs in the next few months. This is huge. (And some are moving into confrontational Aries.) Two weeks ago, Neptune entered Aries for the first time since 1862-1875; which is a preview of things to come because Neptune slips back into Pisces in October, returning to Aries in January 2026 to stay until 2039. Next week, Mars moves into Leo for two months. In June, Jupiter moves into Cancer; and in July, Uranus (planet of upheaval and revolution) also moves into Cancer, which happens to be the Sun Sign of both Canada and the US. (Yowzers!) Personally, I’m going to gas up my car; and make sure I have an extra bag of nachos and two cartons of Ranch dip.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

This week Mercury joins Neptune in your sign, which will make you busy and chatty! Meanwhile, your ruler Mars will soon move into the most fun-loving part of your chart for two months, making this the perfect time for vacations, creative adventures, fun activities with kids and competitive sports. Live it up! Later this week, the Sun moves into Taurus to stay for four weeks heightening your focus on money, cash flow, earnings and possessions. Examine your relationship to the resources in your life. Are you using what you own? Does your stuff serve your needs or vice versa? You will want to establish greater control of your life through the things that you value. It’s a reality check.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

There’s a lot happening right now. Next week Mars moves to the bottom of your chart to stay for the next two months stirring up energy at home and with family members. (Try to avoid domestic strife.) You’ll want to start shoving furniture around and make home improvements. Be patient with parents because this is a challenging influence. Fortunately, the Sun enters your sign on Thursday to stay for four weeks, which will boost your energy and help you make a great impression on everyone. You’ll feel a strong need to express yourself! Meanwhile, Venus in your House of Friendships will create cozy times with pals. “Who brought this wine?”

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

Next week fiery Mars moves into your House of Communications to stay for two months, which means the pace of your everyday life will accelerate. You’ll identify strongly with your ideas, which means you might encounter arguments. Be careful not to coerce others into believing as you do. (“But I’m persuasive!”) Countering this, the Sun moves into a hidden part of your chart this week for the next four weeks. This happens only once a year, and will help you identify childhood behaviour patterns that are no longer appropriate. (Hey, you’re adulting now.) You can sense that your personal year is coming to an end, which makes this the perfect time to ask yourself how well you’re doing at the art of living.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

Mercury is now at the top of your chart, urging you to make plans for your professional life, and think about whether you’re headed in the direction you want to go. This is an excellent time to undertake new studies, as well as talk to bosses and employers. Venus encourages travel for pleasure, and falling in love with someone “different.” Meanwhile, the next four weeks will be popular because the Sun is in your House of Friendships energizing your involvement with friends, as well as groups and organizations. This also arouses your idealism! Then, when Mars changes signs next week, you’ll work even harder to boost your earnings and spend money!

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

You’re entering a powerful window because next week, fiery Mars moves into your sign; while this week, the Sun moves to the top of your chart. This is favourable! Mars will give you energy, confidence and courage. You’ll be more proactive in all your dealings with others. (Maybe a tad bossy.) Meanwhile, with the Sun at your zenith, you look fabulous to everyone! This is because you’re in a flattering spotlight. (Symbolically.) People admire you even if you don’t do anything different. This is why you might be asked to take on increased responsibilities or you might get a promotion. As Mercury changes signs as well this week, your interest in study, education, publishing and travel will increase. “More whiskey and fresh horses for my men!”

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

This week the Sun moves into the part of your chart that heightens your interest in travel, learning and doing anything possible to broaden your horizons. You will seek out new and unfamiliar experiences. People from different backgrounds will intrigue you. This is a great time to take up a new course of study, a new hobby or learn a new language. Your focus on taxes, debt, shared property and inheritances will be strong because Mercury has entered one of your Money Houses. (Time to tidy up loose details.) Meanwhile, Jupiter at the top of your chart brings opportunities to get ahead. Seek out promotions, public recognition and the esteem of your peers. Take a bow.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

You don’t like to rock the boat. Therefore prepare for next week, when fiery Mars moves into your House of Friendships, making you more aggressive about going after what you want, even if it conflicts with others. Use your diplomacy to create successful team efforts. Coordinate your needs with their needs. (Tricky but doable.) Seek out more physical activity through athletics or team participation. Mercury, now opposite your sign, will help you clarify and explain issues. Discussions will be lively and you will seek out intellectual stimulation from others. Put energy into wrapping up loose details with taxes, shared property, inheritances and debt. All that fun stuff.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Next week your co-ruler Mars moves to the top of your chart, arousing your ambition as never before. This means you’ll work hard to get things done. However, this could put you in conflict with a boss or an authority figure. Do what you can to avoid this because you don’t need a situation that blocks your objectives. Go slowly and be diplomatic. Meanwhile, with the Sun moving opposite your sign, you need more sleep and more rest in the next four weeks. Respect this need; especially because Venus will attract chances to party, play and schmooze. Mercury, now in your House of Employment, will promote good relations with employers and coworkers. The next few weeks are an excellent time for important discussions. Seek ways to improve your health.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

You might feel conflicted as two planets are changing signs because one makes you want to travel, explore the world, and get a change of scenery. (“I’m outta here.”) While the other makes you keen to work and be productive. In fact, you’ll strive to make every action count because you want to discover the best way of doing things. Physical efficiency will be your motto. Mercury is another planet that changes signs now, moving to one of the most fun parts of your chart, encouraging you to use your mind for amusement like reading, writing and playing games that require mental agility. You might even play some pranks?

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Lucky you! Once a year, the Sun travels through the most fun part of your chart for four weeks; and this starts now! You want to feel free to express yourself. You want to do what you want and set your own priorities. You have a strong drive to have a good time and be a free spirit. You might be more involved with kids than usual. Relationships will be more lighthearted. Family discussions are likely. Some will tackle home repairs. Admittedly, conflicts about inheritances, shared property, taxes and debt might increase. The other thing that will increase is your sex drive! Woot!

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

You’ll be more focused on home, family and your private life in the next four weeks. Many will be more involved with a parent. (You’re not being antisocial. You prefer to go off by yourself or spend time relaxing among familiar surroundings.) However, life has its contradictions and indeed, as Mercury changes signs this week, it will make you want to get out and talk to everyone. Short trips will appeal. You won’t want to settle down and relax – you want to do something! Whatever happens, do your best to keep the peace because with Mars opposite your sign for the next two months, lively discussions (and arguments) might take place with spouses and partners. “Beware Viceroy; the Federation has gone too far this time.”

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

Fasten your seatbelt because the next four weeks are busy! More activity, more moving round, more encounters with new faces and new places! This is a great time for a vacation. It’s also a good time to tell others how you feel about something. Meanwhile Mercury has just entered your Money House making you more concerned about business affairs, shopping and moneymaking ideas. You might want to define your sense of values to someone. Mars is also changing signs next week, which will make you work hard to get things done. Best to work solo because you have your own ideas about how to do things. Oh yeah.

Saturn. A restrictive energy.

Good for banishing spells and ridding old energies. Binding spells are also potent on this day.

Also good for focusing and developing patience (something a lot of witches don’t have).

Typically, I do not do spells on Saturdays unless it is to get rid of unwanted energies or desires.

The current moon phase for today is the Waxing Gibbous phase.

On this day, the moon is 13.51 days old and 98.66% illuminated with a tilt of 149.772°. The approximate distance from Earth to the moon is 404,776.10 km and the moon sign is Libra.

The Moon phase for today is a Waxing Gibbous phase. This is the phase where the moon is more than 50% illuminated but has not yet reached 100% illumination (which would be a Full Moon).

In the Northern Hemisphere, the right side will be illuminated, and in the Southern hemisphere it’ll be the left side that is illuminated.

The Waxing Gibbous phase, like all moon phases, will last for just over 7 days. The actual length will vary because of the elliptical shaped orbit of the moon. During this Waxing Gibbous phase the moon will rise in the east in the mid- to late-afternoon and will be high in the eastern sky at sunset.

Assuming it’s a clear night, the Waxing Gibbous moon will then be visible through most of the night before setting just before sunrise.

Fun fact: the word Gibbous was first used in the 14th century and comes from the latin word gibbosus which means humpbacked.

Moon Alert

There are no restrictions to shopping or important decisions today. The Moon is in Libra.

The Stars Rate Your Day

5-Dynamic; 4-Positive; 3-Average; 2-So-so; 1-Difficult

Aries (March 21-April 19)

*** Today the Moon is opposite your sign, which turns your attention to personal relationships. Loved ones and partners will be more important to you today. Unfortunately, any conflicts you might have will be more emotional. Stay chill. (You know who you are.)

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

*** You might have to put the needs or wants of someone else before your own today. Just accept this gracefully. It’s not a big deal. You might also use today’s energy to reorganize your personal affairs including arts, crafts and hobbies. Give it 15 minutes.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

**** This is a good day because the Moon is in your fellow Air sign, which means you feel in harmony with yourself and everything around you. It’s a particularly good day for any kind of group activity. Relations with others are pretty mellow. You feel revitalized!

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

*** You’re making a great impression on others because the Sun is at the top of your chart. Nevertheless, today is an ideal day to pull in your energy and hide at home or relax among familiar surroundings. In other words, take this day to grab a breather and enjoy some time out.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

**** You’re curious about many things right now. You have publishing plans in addition to travel. Today’s the perfect day to take a short trip, and enjoy appointments and visits with others because you need to communicate. You have something to say and you need to be heard.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

*** Money is on your mind today. Do what you can to delve into your financial situation – check your bank and your bills and find out what you owe and what you own. This is because when it comes to money, information is power.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

**** Today the Moon is in your sign as it is every month for 2 1/2 days. Although it will make you more emotional than usual, the good news is that it slightly improves your good luck. You might test this out by asking the universe for a favour? Why not?

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

*** You’ve been working hard. Let’s pull things in a little today. Keep a low profile. Work alone or behind the scenes. It’s also a good day to do research. Meanwhile, be extra patient with romantic partners as well as your kids. Easy does it.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

**** Today you feel an inner equanimity, which is why this a good time to stop and take stock. You’ll feel better today. Meanwhile, relations with groups and friends are excellent. Look for ways to improve your life. It’s the small successes that make us feel good.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

*** For 2 1/2 days every month, the Moon is at the top of your chart, which symbolizes that people notice you. In fact, some people will know personal details about your private life. Do be aware of this in case you have to do some damage control.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

**** Today you have a strong urge to break free of your daily routine. Enjoy networking with others because you like to spend time with your friends. Travel would be a lovely option. Or you can be a tourist in your own city.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

*** This is a good day to tackle red-tape details like taxes, debt, banking matters and anything to do with inheritances or shared property. You have the necessary frame of mind to look into these matters, and you’ll love yourself for it later if you make some progress and clean up loose ends.

If Your Birthday Is Today

TV broadcaster Jeremy Clarkson (1960) shares your birthday today. You are persuasive and diplomatic. You love to champion causes and you are forever optimistic. Service will be your theme this year, probably service to family. Therefore, take care of yourself first so you can be a resource to others. This year might be time for a makeover?

Aries (March 21-April 19)

You are prone to create something or work with your hands this Friday and the more you prevent your impulses, the more frustrated you will feel.

There are things you can try and even groups you can adhere to but you need to keep an open mind. You are shutting down some good ideas before you even understand them properly.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

A great day for exploration for all those natives who need a break from routine. But don’t imagine anything to exciting or some real travel because this endeavor will probably embrace a more humane side.

You might spend an evening out in the city or maybe get to know someone else in a different setting.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

You seem to let yourself easily influenced by those around and although you don’t necessarily follow exactly what you say, you tend to model your train of thought after them.

And you know that entourage often carries a big importance, especially to those young. Beware of embracing any ideas that might appear too exaggerated at a first glance.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

You seem to be happy with the way things are evolving at work but there are still aspects you can’t come to grips with.

Most of them probably pertain to the relationship you have with your colleagues and that fact that at times you just can’t feel as one of them. Other than this, this Friday might bring something new in the mix.

You can also enjoy this special Cancer Daily Horoscope.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

You seem to start this Friday in quite a concerned mood but perhaps you have lost track of things and are not really paying attention to what is really important and prefer to agonize on matters that can easily be solved.

What you seem to lack at the moment is a sense of practicality. Look at what you can physically solve.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

You are seeking ways to put into light something you have just learned or something you think you are good at but you leave yourself misguided.

It isn’t necessarily about what others are expecting as it is of how good you are in that area. If you want to play the role of the specialist you need to take it on a road that no one has tried before.

You can also enjoy this special Virgo Daily Horoscope.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

It seems like this Friday starts under interesting auspices for you as the short term prospects actually bring you what you wanted.

And from that the way is open to do whatever you want. The only word of caution for you is to beware of those you are going to share this victory with as not everyone wishes the best for you.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Those natives who are romantically involved at the moment are going to benefit most from the current disposition.

But this doesn’t mean that the single natives are completely unhappy with their conditions. Everyone is charming in their way and some might be able to showcase this better than others, especially in the light of these events.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

You must accept that some page of your life has turned and you have other responsibilities that you need to tend to at the moment.

And while you are still reminiscing those times when things were a lot easier, perhaps you should also turn your attention to the benefits you have at the moment and understand that these can only come with sacrifices.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

This is going to be a great day to put in practice something you have recently learned. And although the situation won’t test you directly and might not even be like you imagined it, there is enough occasion to show how far you’ve come.

Other than this, you seem to get along just great with people younger than you of all backgrounds.

You can also enjoy this special Capricorn Daily Horoscope.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

The current disposition promotes a challenging couple of days and there are some changes you need to embrace before things can advance.

It might be that you need to spend some money to make new money. Also, you might see that you need to embark onto new responsibilities and also shine light on personal aspects you’ve kept hidden.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

You really ought to delegate some of those tasks you have on your list or else you won’t be able to breathe easy for a second this Friday or the following week.

And although they might not solve them like you would, there isn’t a specific perfection to meet so you might as well settle with what you have. Concentrate your energy elsewhere.

Let’s Talk Witch – “What do spells and rituals of witchcraft and magic really do for me?” c.2015 by Lady Abyss

“What do spells and rituals of witchcraft and magic really do or me?”

Hopefully, by the time you reach the end of this book, you will be able to answer that question for yourself. In the meantime, the following is a short list of benefits you can gain from doing regular witchcraft spells and rituals.

Disrupt the Trance of Everyday Life

Your practice should shift you out of the well-worn mental pathways of your daily life. The spells and rituals you do should make you pause in your day, be conscious and aware of who you are, where you are, and what your aims are. Any spells, consciously performed, should prevent you from being a purely mechanical robot.

Connect You with Spirit

Staying connected to Spirit is essential to attracting what you really want in your life. You can connect with Spirit through any or all of the spells and rituals described in this book. Any spell that quiets the mind or puts us in touch with physical sensation will bring us into contact with Spirit.

Help You Access Powers and Beings

Creating what we want in life is much easier when we have help. A daily practice of witchcraft or magic that puts you in contact with angels, guides, totem Spirits, and other helpers can increase your ability to attract what you want in life. Remember that there is a helpful being for just about anything you want dont be afraid to ask!

Help You Remember What You Want

Many of us go through our days in a reactionary mode we are not choosing our thoughts and actions so much as we are reacting to the stimulus around us. Daily performance of magical rituals and spells helps us remember what we really want in life, and keeps us from sabotaging ourselves with unwanted reactions. For instance, if your goal is to create peace and harmony in life, a daily witchcraft practice can keep you in touch with Spirit, reminding you not to react angrily to your co-workers insults.

Be in Accordance with Universal Principles

Doing daily spells and rituals that are designed with Universal principles in mind is much more effective than those that are not plus, they are guaranteed to be safe. Sound spells follow Rules of the Road, principles such as as above, so below, and four element principles. For instance, if youre designing a ritual to help you gain knowledge, you want to work with the principles of the magical element Air. If you want a ritual that will help you act, you want to work with Fire.

Let’s Talk Witch -Raising Power c. 2013 by Lady Abyss

Let’s Talk Witch -Raising Power

Anyone can cast a powerful spell. If you think you’re not powerful enough or not magickal enough, or if you’re still a little skeptical about Witchcraft, don’t worry about it.

You will still be able to perform very effective magick, if you can follow some very simple rules. These rules are very important principles that will underlie in all magickal spells you ever perform.

Magick, using tools and words and spells, just enhances this natural ability that your mind has to attract.

Magick lets you powerfully attract what you want, and it works because of the Law of Attraction.

The key is to make sure that everything you do is in line with your goals. All your thoughts, all your actions, and everything you do should be in agreement with what you are trying to attract.

You must think positive and imagine the reality you wish to achieve with your spell.

Your spells will not work unless you put your entire being into achieving your goal.

Magic without the proper intention is just a bunch of rhyming words.

When you do magic, you want it work for you.

Always make sure that you avoid anything that contradicts or goes against the purpose of your spell.

Make negative statement will cancel out any positive energy created by your spell. The means that the spell won’t work.

When you cast a spell, you need to be confident that it will succeed. In fact, the more confident you are, the more successful you spell is likely to be.
