Your Daily Rune for Tuesday, November 10th is Eihwaz

bw-eihwazYour Daily Rune

Eihwaz

Eihwaz represents the Yew tree and its everlasting nature. The Yew may bend, but it does not break. You are on the right course and have the strength and ability to meet your goals. Congratulations!

Additional information about Today’s Rune, Eihwaz courtesy of The Runic Journey

Eihwaz : yew
Phonetic equivalent: ei
DIVINATORY MEANINGS:
change, initiation, confrontation of fears, turning point, death, transformation
MAGICAL USES: to bring about profound change, to ease a life transition
ASSOCIATED MYTHS &DEITIES:Hel, Yggdrasil

ANALYSIS:
The yew tree has been associated with runes, magic and death in northern and western Europe since time immemorial. The reasons for this ancient association are numerous, but seem to principally derive from the fact that yews are evergreens which retain their greenery even through the death of winter, and because their red berries are symbolic of the blood of life. The yew is also extremely long-lived, thus effectively ‘immortal’.

Reverence for the yew dates back to before the times of the Celts, and continues today in Christian tradition. Eihwaz is the thirteenth rune in the fuþark, and marks the middle of the alphabet. (It is interesting to note that the Death card in the Tarot is also the thirteenth card.)

This rune is the turning point in the runic journey, and represents the transformation phase of the initiatory process. All rites of passage, particularly those marking the transition into adulthood, contain the symbolism of death, the idea being that one’s former ‘self’ has died and given birth to a new persona.

Eihwaz is the passage through which we must enter the realm of Hel in order to gain the knowledge and acceptance of our own mortality, as well as those mysteries which can only be learned from the dark Lady of the dead. The process is a truly frightening one, but it is something we all must go through if we are to confront our deepest fears and emerge with the kind of wisdom that cannot be taught but must be experienced. Eihwaz is the gateway to this wisdom, and lies between life (jera) and rebirth (perþ).

Your Personal Daily Tarot Card for November 10th is The Hanged Man

Your Personal Daily Tarot Card

The Hanged Man

The Hanged Man is the most enigmatic card of the Tarot. Even Tarot giants like Waite, Crowley and Levi had trouble deciphering The Hanged Man’s true meaning. Generally The Hanged Man is thought to represent the value of surrender and selfless acts. The Hanged Man embodies the notion that sometimes to lose is to win. Unlike the aggressive Chariot, The Hanged Man creates his fate through inaction and accepts his fortune passively, without resistance. He does not struggle to control the path his life takes, but rather allows events to sweep him where they will, even if he is called upon to sacrifice himself. He is so at ease with the Fate the Universe chose for him that even hanging upside down from a tree does not ruffle his inner peace.

Your Horoscopes for Wednesday, November 11th

General Horoscope

Speaking the truth isn’t always easy, especially if our feelings are in conflict with someone else’s. We’re torn between supporting those we love and maintaining integrity. Nevertheless, the relentless Scorpio New Moon at 12:47 pm EST urges us to express what’s in our hearts. Lucky Jupiter’s supportive sextile to the New Moon puts a positive spin on nearly any conversation started now. Don’t withdraw; when in doubt, discuss what’s on your mind.

Aries Horoscope Mar 21 – Apr 19

You can’t help but raise issues that everyone else would rather avoid today. You’re not looking to stir up trouble, but talking about a sensitive subject might prompt others to discredit you by criticizing your opinions. Although you don’t want to waste energy defending your philosophy, it may be necessary in order to defuse the negativity before it takes hold. Thankfully, the perceptive Scorpio New Moon falls in your 8th House of Metamorphosis, inspiring you to see the conversation through to a successful conclusion.

Taurus Horoscope Apr 20 – May 20

Ignoring a friend or lover’s incisive feedback is not a wise tactic while the Scorpio New Moon rattles your 7th House of Significant Others. You might not want to listen to what’s being said, but taking a message to heart can be a significant catalyst for personal growth. There’s no need to nod your head in agreement; however, seriously considering someone’s less-than-pleasant assessment now is grist for your mill. No matter how useful the new information is to your transformation, you’ll be a stronger person for going through the process.

Gemini Horoscope May 21 – Jun 20

Making simple modifications to your daily routine may be the smartest thing you can do today, as long as you choose ones that don’t turn your life upside down. Fortunately, a subtle adjustment can set a series of profound consequences into motion when the Scorpio New Moon shakes up your 6th House of Self-Improvement. The potential for change is likely, so pick your direction wisely. Just remember that being too insistent could overwhelm others, causing your plans to backfire. Acting with gentle persistence is much more effective now than making one dramatic gesture.

Cancer Horoscope Jun 21 – Jul 22

You might believe your world has come to a standstill, but in truth it has not. To the contrary, you’re right on the verge of something big. Perhaps you recently thought about starting a creative project or making a move on the romantic front. In either case, the evocative Scorpio New Moon returns to fire up your 5th House of Self-Expression, intensifying the emotional process. But nothing will happen overnight, so be patient. It’s always darkest just before the dawn.

Leo Horoscope Jul 23 – Aug 22

Your feelings could be at odds with your actions today. You might choose to withhold your desires and just smile your way through the day, but you won’t likely get away with it. Acknowledge your subjectivity while the passionate Scorpio New Moon spotlights your 4th House of Security. Thankfully, you can change the rules of the game; instead of choosing emotions or logic now, seek a position that honors both realms. Maintain a close connection with your heart while listening to the advice offered by your rational mind.

Virgo Horoscope Aug 23 – Sep 22

There may not be a better time to take initiative on an important project. Put your plans into action while the Scorpio New Moon energizes your 3rd House of Immediate Environment. Use this creative lunar power to get your ideas out into the open, whether verbally or written. Nevertheless, it might be nearly impossible to follow through on everything you start today. Ride the planetary waves of change by relying on your sense of humor to keep everyone laughing, since the current intensity won’t last very long.

Libra Horoscope Sep 23 – Oct 22

You’re holding onto a very well-kept secret today, and this unexpressed juicy tidbit may have negative consequences. It’s tempting to express all the pleasant parts of your story while hiding the less palatable facts. Thankfully, the potent Scorpio New Moon lands in your 2nd House of Self-Esteem, giving you the power to overcome your fears and then bring them out into the open. Working through your resistance isn’t possible if you keep denying valid concerns; adopt a fierce attitude and face your challenges head-on.

Scorpio Horoscope Oct 23 – Nov 21

You can do nearly anything now if you put your mind to it and commit to relentlessly executing your plan. It’s as if you are carrying a secret vial of superpowers, but it’s actually the New Moon’s presence in your fixed sign. You must use this magic potion carefully or you might create more problems than you solve. Your efforts to save the world are admirable, but acknowledging your limits today can prevent disappointment tomorrow. Global transformation must start from within.

Sagittarius Horoscope Nov 22 – Dec 21

You might miss a rare opportunity to connect with someone close to you if you get lost in your desire for professional success, instead. You appear to be emotionally present and act as if you’re living in the moment. But no one really knows what’s going on behind your eyes today since the enigmatic Scorpio New Moon occurs in your 12th House of Secrets. Deep soul-searching could reveal that you’re not yet ready to share your vulnerability with anyone else now. Trust your intuition to know when the time is right.

Capricorn Horoscope Dec 22 – Jan 19

You can engage people with calculated precision today, as if you are playing a competitive game of chess. However, your ideas may be more fixed now than others realize and you might not want to change your plans while the unrelenting Scorpio New Moon activates your 11th House of Goals. Trust your instincts and you’ll know exactly what move to make next to keep the win within your grasp. Analyze every possible scenario with careful consideration; your single-mindedness could bring you victory sooner than you think.

Aquarius Horoscope Jan 20 – Feb 18

Long-term career goals take priority now that the Scorpio New Moon emphasizes your 10th House of Status. Your uncanny ability to control your emotions creates a magnetism that could have your biggest critics eating from your hand. But this gift is not to be used for the sole purpose of manipulation; instead, utilize your powers of persuasion thoughtfully so others will line up to be on your team. Integrate your altruistic intentions with strategic action for the best results.

Pisces Horoscope Feb 19 – Mar 20

Successful planning for the future requires you to have an accurate map that reveals the exact lay of the land. But sometimes getting your bearings is challenging, especially when the mysterious Scorpio New Moon is stimulating your 9th House of Big Ideas. Thankfully, you should land safely at your destination just in time, as long as you continue to visualize your arrival. Take the extra step and create an itinerary for the coming months so that you can stay on track as you move toward fulfilling your dreams.

You are strong-minded and intelligent. You are actively creative and dynamic. Your quick wit is apparent from the get-go. Your intelligence doesn’t come from pure academics—you work from your gut instincts, which more often than not steer you on the right course. Your enthusiasm is strong, but you can also be quick to tire of one particular thing, place, or path. Although you are independent and rather wilful, you won’t disregard others’ wisdom. Because you have many talents and interests, you can easily stray from your path. Your biggest challenge in life is to stay focused.

Your Daily Horoscopes for Tuesday, November 10th

Aries

Aries Horoscope
Aries

This is an excellent day for review of all kinds, dear Aries, and perhaps some research as you prepare for a new cycle that begins tomorrow with a New Moon. A Mercury-Pluto connection encourages useful insight into business or financial matters, as well as strategy in general for achieving important goals. It can also give you a real sense that you can work on emotional matters successfully, conquer fears, and put a hampering problem behind you. There can be an intimate moment today that opens you up to new possibilities and that inspires you. For some, it’s about sharing a bit of yourself with someone you love. Work matters can be especially fruitful now, and you might see areas that you can improve that will bring rewards going forward. You may be making important changes and edits that leave you feeling prouder of what you do.

Taurus

Taurus

Today is strong for honing in on areas of waste or neglect, dear Taurus, with a plan to turn them around. It can also be a time for gaining new insight into a person you care about or a relationship’s dynamics. You can make a good connection through, or feel supported by, a partner, friend, or in-law. It’s a strong time in your life for warm, positive energy with others, and for creative activities or entertainment that allow you to express yourself in new ways. Friendly gestures and communications from others lift your spirits to new heights, or you might decide to be the one to reach out to others, finding joy in inspiring or motivating others. A New Moon will occur tomorrow in your opposing sign, bringing nice energy for starting fresh in a relationship. Today, observe others and listen to your own heart for clues as to where you might want to head, whether this is toward or with a relationship.

Gemini

Gemini

This is a strong time for seeing something more clearly, dear Gemini, or for gaining new insight into your work, business, family affairs, or health, dear Gemini. The Moon is Balsamic, making today better for reflection than new beginnings, but it’s an excellent time to get to a better understanding of your own needs and for getting a better handle on your responsibilities. This is an important day for seeing what is no longer good for you, whether that’s an attitude, a project, a habit, or possibly even a habit. There can also be important information coming in about work possibilities or your present job, and you might be projecting an especially positive message about your skills and abilities. You can send a positive message about your own competence and skills. Opportunities to work from home, to reorganize and improve your home life, or to make your daily affairs a little easier, may pop up now. Enjoy yourself and express your affections for the people you love.

Cancer

Cancer

You can gain new insight into a partner, love interest, or relationship itself today, dear Cancer. There can be a pleasantly intimate feel to the morning, which suits you just fine! Conversations with a partner, romantic interest, and children are especially good and helpful today. Creatively speaking, it’s a time for seeing things more clearly and for feeling things more deeply, but also for expressing yourself with power and positivity. You have the ability to create a pleasing balance between fun and work. Particularly later today, you can enjoy a good feeling of growth in your connections. You might also be inclined to flirting or more serious expressions of affection. With a New Moon occurring tomorrow, today is better for reflecting and tying up loose ends, however, than for entirely new endeavors. Take the time to see what needs to go and what you want to bring forward with you in the new cycle ahead.

Leo

Leo

A mystery may be solved this morning, dear Leo, or a conversation occurs that provides the missing puzzle piece. It’s a good time to sort out your work or home space and get into a more organized head space as well. Focus should be on what needs to be left behind, dropped, and wrapped up – those things you don’t need to bring forward with you. There is good energy for projecting a sunny, warm disposition. Fulfillment comes through attention to family matters and personal possessions, and feelings of support derived from your closest connections. You might enjoy especially warm relations with family, and take great comfort in the security that comes with it. Don’t be afraid to get creative about family, money, home, and business matters, but save brand new beginnings for after the New Moon that occurs tomorrow.

Virgo

Virgo Symbol/Glyph
Virgo

Your insight is strong today, dear Virgo, so that you can get to the bottom of an issue that was previously baffling. Relationships with children can also be enhanced today. Conversations cut to the chase. As the day moves forward, a spirit of openness emerges and grows. This can open up doors to you for self-expression. It’s a strong day for all things social, and there might be a revealing conversation, a piece of good news, or new information coming in that makes you happy. Your connections with others, including siblings, acquaintances, and classmates, can grow by leaps and bounds. Establishing trust can be successful now. Keep in mind that there is a New Moon tomorrow, making today strong for reflection and letting go rather than brand new launches or endeavors.

Libra

Libra Glyph-Symbol
Libra

Insights about your money situation or business today can help you to reach for new goals after the wonderful energy of the New Moon tomorrow, dear Libra. You are especially insightful when it comes to how to make your life more secure and comfortable, and what attitudes or projects may be better off left behind you in order to make room and space for new ones to enter your life. While you’re a little more retiring than usual, some networking or socializing today could bring financial tips or money-making ideas or simply a boost in mood. There is a gentle, positive touch to your manner, particularly as the day progresses, and this can help you to gain trust. It’s also a little easier than usual to see the bright side of things now.

Scorpio

Scorpio Symbol Glyph
Scorpio

This is the day before a New Moon that will occur in your sign, dear Scorpio, and this is typically a time for laying low, resting, thinking, and letting go. It’s important to clear out space, emotionally and perhaps literally if your surroundings could use a clean up, so as to invite the “new” into your life. Today’s energies are a little busier than usual, but not so stimulating that you won’t have time to think about new goals and aspirations. In fact, a pleasing aspect between Mercury and your ruler, Pluto, this morning can encourage you to dig a little deeper for ideas. It’s a great influence for seeing your priorities. As the day moves forward, the Sun in your sign harmonizes with optimistic, generous Jupiter, and this encourages making connections and improving friendships. You may be gaining someone’s trust, clearing the air, and feeling better for it.

Sagittarius

Sagittarius Glyph Symbol
Sagittarius

There is nice energy for tying up loose ends today, dear Sagittarius, and for making peace with the past, for several astrological reasons. The Sun and Mercury are both in your sector of karma, the past, and privacy, and both bodies get help from growth-oriented bodies – Jupiter and Pluto, respectively. As well, today’s Balsamic Moon lends beautiful energy for releasing, purging, and letting go of those things you no longer need. New insight into past matters can come now, and may lead you to very important conclusions. While you may not be especially accessible today as you can be quite wrapped up in your thoughts, you nevertheless have a warm glow to you. You might reach out to others in order to help. An open hand, a generous spirit, and integrity are key ingredients to your success on social and practical levels today. Rest, heal, and reflect today for best results!

Capricorn

Capricorn Symbol/Glyph
Capricorn

This can be a wonderful time in your life for teaching, learning, and sharing, dear Capricorn. Friendships are in strong focus, and so are team efforts, group associations, community goals, and long-term plans that excite and motivate you for the future. You are thinking in innovative ways, and this will help you to maximize the potential of tomorrow’s New Moon. Today, you need to also look to the present and past in order to see what you may need to let go or put aside in order to make room for new energy coming in. A new insight into a friendship, or even a business deal or long-term plan, can be had now. There could be special ease felt with others. Educational, travel, and other mind-expanding activities can thrive, or opportunities for these things can present themselves in the coming weeks. Now is a good time to learn about your deeper needs and desires so that goal-setting in the coming week will be a true reflection of what’s in your heart.

Aquarius

Aquarius

There is more power to your communications, dear Aquarius, and generally an inability to escape attention today! This can be a very strong day to discuss professional and business-related matters with a trusted authority, mull over life path goals on your own, as well as to brainstorm and come up with solutions with others. The image you project now and in the coming weeks is important to your overall progress. Tomorrow’s New Moon sets you on a new path as you redefine your goals or plump out the details of current plans. Today, it’s more appropriate to learn your heart in order to know what’s best for you, or what to strive towards going forward. You can have a good sense that whatever leaves your life now is no longer necessary. Some of you could gain support from a surprising or hidden source, and most should enjoy favorable attention from both superiors and peers.

Pisces

Pisces

This is a good time for coming to a greater understanding of a recent problem or setback, dear Pisces. This is a good time for friendships, networking, making connections, and partnering or negotiating matters. Others can be integral to goals that involve learning new things and even a new trade, gaining exciting experiences, publishing, traveling, teaching, or learning – all themes that are emphasized in the coming weeks with a New Moon about to occur in the sector of your solar chart that rules these things. The common denominator here is broadening your horizons. This is a time for expanding a business, idea, or relationship, and for taking something to new heights. Today, take in all that you can. Information can surface that helps you, or this may be about becoming inspired to alter your path. For some of you, there may be a shared adventure or new experience occurring soon that enlivens your relationships.

November’s Scorpio new Moon occurs on November 12 in Australia and November 11 in the United States. This new Moon contains some very powerful energy, and, it seems, that many issues, situations and people’s lives are right on the brink of something brand new. Certainly, the old is shedding, and, sometimes it’s at such a brisk rate that it can leave us a bit disoriented. As we head further down into the Rabbit Hole, we may find ourselves in a whole new understanding of the nature of reality and how we fit into that picture. That movie that we call our lives.

This blog entry/newsletter is very long. I could have included more, but felt the need to not feel like I’m writing a novel 🙂 I’ve included several of the Karmic and Quest Degrees (click here to read about those definitions) for the planets as they are so telling, I didn’t want to leave them out. I could have included more for sure, there is always more that can be said.

In a nutshell, this is a time for venturing down new pathways, even if we are unsure of where we are headed. A lot of people are going to be feeling the need to uproot and rid from their lives those issues, memories, grudges, emotions, people, possessions, opinions, living situations, beliefs about their lives, etc, and head down new pathways (Scorpio 20 – The Curtains).

We may have heard what others have been saying, or, heard messages from our own hearts and minds, from our angels and guardians, from our super consciousness or whatever, we may have heard messages that have been difficult to ignore. Issues to do with gossip and privacy can arise (Scorpio 19 – The Parrot).

Some may be ‘resisting orders’ and going AWOL, in more ways than one, while others may be wondering where everyone went (Scorpio 21 – The Soldier Going AWOL).

This is a hugely transformative new Moon and it is a fabulous opportunity to connect your thoughts with your hopes and dreams. Drawing aside those ‘Two Dark Curtains’ can lead you to new possibilities, new beginnings, etc. However, playing by the rules is certainly part of the equation, as Saturn is laying things on the line for many. Saturn on Sagittarius 5 can have us needing to make sure that nothing slips through the gaps and we have to be wearing our best outfits to fit the occasion (Sagittarius 5 – The Game Of Cricket)… all the while as Venus and Mars straddle the Moon’s north Node in late Virgo/early Libra, smack on the Super Galactic Center (a center that is said to connect us with ‘The Mind Of God’).

Adding to the picture is Jupiter opposing Chiron. This brings us all the fabulous opportunity to ‘rewrite the stories of our lives’. Many of us are thirsty for a ‘better story’, something that fits us far more readily than the stories we’ve been inhabiting. I see Chiron as The Stories We Tell Ourselves, and, with the opposition to Jupiter, there is the need, the possibility and the openings for exploring those new pathways, going through those new doorways.
The New Moon is on Scorpio 20: A WOMAN DRAWING ASIDE TWO DARK CURTAINS THAT CLOSED THE ENTRANCE TO A SACRED PATHWAY

This Symbol shows the ability or the need to be able to draw aside confusions or obstructions that impede your path or stop you from realizing where you could be or go. You, either alone or with others, may feel the need to venture down new “Pathways” or investigate new possibilities, but you will have to muster faith and overcome fear to enter these new realms, these “Sacred” places. You will require both courage and inquisitive desire. Venturing down these paths make it clear that your sphere of operation and action will become vastly enlarged with the new perspective that opens for you.

Keywords: Mysteries revealed, sometimes after a long wait. Feminine mysteries laid out before you. Woman’s reproductive organs, especially the vagina. The mysteries of the Goddesses. Getting past things that are cloaked or shielded from entry or view. Sexual mysteries. Open Sesame. Clairvoyant readings that reveal the ‘Path’. Invitations to the unknown. Drawing aside inhibitions. Following through on things. Undressing.

The Caution: Being seduced into dark and sinister things or being led astray. Not being shown the true picture or the truth. Frigidity and closing off sexual responses. Being, or feeling, shut out. Dark rooms with little sign of life.

The Moon symbolizes: Emotions, moods, mother, family, clan, domestic issues, relationship to home and country. Feelings, sentiments, nourishment, emotional nurturing, monkey chatter mind, lunar and menstrual cycles, clarity of emotions or lunacy. Female energy – yours and others.

The Karmic Condition (the degree before) for the Moon is Scorpio 19: A PARROT LISTENING AND THEN TALKING, REPEATS A CONVERSATION HE HAS OVERHEARD

What have you heard or observed lately that has been informing you of what you need to be doing, where to from here, etc? Have you had messages coming from outer or inner sources? Have you been paying attention? Are you tired of having your mind filled up with time wasting dramas or the world’s problems? Is social media taking over a lot of your time and energy when you could, perhaps, be getting on with making more out of your minutes/hours/days/months/years?

This Symbol infers some level of spiritual channeling or the hearing and passing on of messages. Birds symbolize spiritual forces and “Parrots” symbolize the ability to be able to give voice to messages. This Symbol indicates that someone who is receptive to thoughts and ideas can process information to the point where it becomes their own, although they may really be a channel or a translator rather than an originator of these messages or realizations. Perhaps there is a need integrate new understandings into your consciousness, to make a belief system or a code of living truly your own with your own stamp of individuality on it.

Keywords: Transmitting information or knowledge. The need to integrate things into consciousness. Recorded messages. Answering and fax machines. Mumbling. Translators, birds, parrots, news reporters, stool pigeons. Telephone operators. Messages from strange places. Automated responses. New languages. Talking to animals. Talkback radio.

The Caution: Rote responses that are ill considered. “Towing the party line” without having any opinion of your own. Going over the same territory. Losing true meaning through repetition. Repeating without knowing the real meaning or purpose. Meaningless banter. Tunnel vision. Gossiping. Missing the essence of what’s being said. Not having a mind of one’s own. Brainwashing. Re-runs of the same old line. Broken records.

The Quest Symbol (the degree following) for the new Moon is Scorpio 21: OBEYING THEIR CONSCIENCE, A SOLDIER RESISTS ORDERS

After the realizations from recent messages and insights, after drawing aside the curtains and venturing down new pathways, there may be a need to either opt out completely, or, take a breather from the things you normally devote a lot of time and energy to. It could be that others around you are not living up to their duties or the expectations of others, or, often, not living up to their own expectations. Saying NO to those things that run counter to your conscience, or your sense of what is right or right or good or bad or whatever, can give you a sense of relief as you shed those things that are no longer needed on your journey on that pathway.

This Symbol shows someone whose “Conscience” stops them from following a certain course of action, staying with a project or relationship when they’d rather leave, or, someone not prepared to compromise their values to do something that society says they must do. You may find yourself in situations where what you are expected to do is against your inner values, your conscience or how you see your future unfolding. You may have to make the difficult choice between allegiance to duty or your own inner truth. True freedom can only be found when one faces situations with a sense of integrity and preparedness to face the consequences, be they positive or negative.

Keywords: Personal morality. Doing what one’s conscience dictates. Going against the status quo. Doing the unexpected. Going by the promptings of the inner voice. The consequences of having a conscience. Not coming home. People clinging to each other. Love that restrains.

The Caution: Displaying cowardice or a lack of courage to act. Not doing what one is expected to do. ‘Going over the top’ in a wild and crazy way. Going AWOL. Being the one who lets everyone down. Court Martials. Antisocial behavior. Anarchists. Being “uncommitted” or “unavailable”. Choosing play instead of duty. Goofing off.

A New Moon symbolizes: The new Moon each month marks a time of new beginnings and realisations. It’s like a birth after a time of gestation or being ‘in the womb’. Here, the light begins to return and we can see new beginnings and possibilities. A new Moon means that the Sun and the Moon are both together – bringing a synergy of their energies together. The new Moon is a perfect time to set your intentions for the future. This period is wonderful for planting seeds of whatever kind. What do you want to manifest in your future? Whether you write it down, sing about it or just hold the thought forms in your mind, doing this at the new Moon can realise some fabulous results around the things that you want to draw into your life.

symbols_mercury.jpg Mercury is on Scorpio 16: A GIRL’S FACE BREAKING INTO A SMILE

We may well have things to smile about, but even if we don’t, it can help to break the spell of difficulties that may have been hanging in the air. Part of the Girl’s Smile is her knowing that she can look after herself (not the Quest Degree following this one). It’s by smiling and drawing people to you that you can find more and more opportunities to find something to smile about. 🙂

This Symbol shows the ability to, or the necessity of, putting on a happy face, smiling and being warm and welcoming. The fact that the “Girl’s Face is Breaking” into a smile implies that she may not always be smiling; she may not always have things to smile about. However, the act of smiling helps to draw people closer; to give people permission to get to know you. Smiling is the simple sense of inner happiness shining through. The Quest Degree for Mercury is Scorpio 17: A WOMAN, FILLED WITH HER OWN SPIRIT, IS THE FATHER OF HER OWN CHILD

Many are finding themselves with not much support from family or friends. And, as things have been fairly hectic for so many, it is not a wonder why – people are busy trying to make their lives ‘work’. Day in and day out, we need to be independent and trusting in the goodness of life to sustain us.

This shows the ability, or the need, to be totally self-sufficient and responsible for one’s life. Often, there’s the issue of single parenthood, or the sense of having to raise yourself without too much input from others, or, coming from a broken family where someone had to take on the role of both mother and father. It can show someone that doesn’t require assistance for even the most complicated tasks, or you feel you can’t ask; perhaps there’s no one to ask or you feel that others couldn’t do anything as well as you. Venus, Mars, and the Moon’s north node are currently traversing over the Super Galactic Center (SGC). This brings up big possibilities of connecting in more and more strongly with the Law Of Attraction – to connect with the ‘Mind Of God’. The SGC is a super powerhouse of energies and Venus and Mars are bound to be bringing up more and more relationship and/or money issues for many. Getting clear about your objectives can help bring in the magic of the SGC – an energy that is available to all of us presently.

This Symbol implies the desire or need to be with others who share similar feelings, aspirations, goals and beliefs. There is a common focus here amongst the “Group” that opens up to creative and enlivening possibilities. Things can change so quickly that it’s hard to believe at first, but eventually it dawns on you that things are different in the light of a “New Day”. Indeed you can find yourself not even starting what you need to be starting. Although, with this Symbol around, you can be the type of person who won’t let anything get in the way of completing objectives. The trick is not to get lost in the details. We may, however, have to travel our own path and not be too influenced by others’ opinions or small-mindedness along the way. How much of what you take in everyday as ‘news’ or ‘information’ is actually useful to you?

Strange Brew

November 10
Waning Crescent
Illumination: 1%

The Moon today is in a Waning Crescent phase. In this phase the Moon’s illumination is growing smaller each day until the New Moon. During this phase the Moon is getting closer to the Sun as viewed from Earth and the night side of the Moon is facing the Earth with only a small edge of the Moon being illuminated. This phase is best viewed an hour or 2 before the sunrise and can be quite beautiful if you’re willing to get up early. It can also be a great time to see the features of the Moon’s surface. Along the edge where the illuminated portion meets the dark side, the craters and mountains cast long shadows making them easier to observe with a telescope or binoculars.

This is a shower best taken by two people.

You will need a cup of fine mud from a cosmetic mud mask.

Begin by standing in the bathtub and applying the mud to one another. Rub the mud all over your partner’s body, taking delight in the way it feels. Press your bodies together, exchanging mud in slippery skin movements.

The Earth Goddess and God merging together as One. In unison call out:

Goddess and God of the sacred earth

Mother and father of creation

Let the light be our guide

And love our mantra

So be it! Blessed be!

WOTC Extra – Very Simple Dedication Ritual

Witch

Very Simple Dedication Ritual

Here is a simple dedication ritual. On the night of a full moon, go outside and draw a circle around yourself with your athame. Once you are inside your circle, light a white candle and gaze at it until you can feel the moonlight filling ing your soul. Then pour a libation to the goddess from your chalice onto the ground. Hold the chalice up to the moon and say,

“With all my heart and soul, I, __________, willingly dedicate myself to the Craft and to you.

So mote it be.”

Drink from the chalice, and then sit quietly in your circle until it feels like the right time to go back inside.

Let’s Talk Witch – Dedication

Witch

Dedication

Some might say that it takes dedication to be a Witch. And they would be right in more ways than one.

When a Witch says that he or she is dedicated to the Craft, it might just mean that she or he puts in a lot of time and effort. More likely, though, they are referring to a particular ceremony called a dedication.

A dedication is a formal declaration of intent, a wedding vow of sorts, if you will, that binds the Witch to the practice of Witchcraft or to a coven or group. While not necessarily a vow of the “til death do us part” sort (since you can always change your mind and take up Buddhism instead, if you like), it is a serious commitment and should never be made lightly.

Some Witches know right away that they want to make this commitment, and some practice for their entire lives without ever making a formal dedication-neither way is right or wrong. In truth, the only “wrong” way is to make a dedication frivolously, without thinking it through first.

Otherwise, there are a number of ways to go about it. If you are a Solitary Witch, there are lots of great self-dedication rituals available in books or online. Better yet, just light some candles, cast your circle, and speak from the heart-the gods will certainly hear you.

If you are in a group, your high priest and/or high priestess will probably dedicate you, usually with the rest of the group there to help out and bear witness. You can even invite friends and family as long as they will treat the event with the proper reverence.

A group dedication is a slightly different event-if your group is just starting out, you will probably hold a ritual that dedicates you all at the same time.

No matter what kind of dedication you are doing, the ritual will be beautiful, moving, and will change your life forever. Who could ask for more?

Celebrating 365 Days of Legends, Folklore & Spirituality for November 10 – Martinmas Eve, Celebration of the Goddess of Reason

Martinmas Eve, Celebration of the Goddess of Reason

The old Pagan festival of Nincnevin, later Martinmas Eve, honored the Goddess Diana and her entourage. At Martinmas, the Germans celebrate this time by feasting on wild geese and then using the breast bone of the last goose to predict the weather for the coming months. It is believed that if the breast bone be fair and clear when the flesh has been eaten off it, the weather will be cold and full of hard frosts. However, if the breast bone is dark then the winter will be full of rain, snow, and sleet but warmer overall.

During the French Revolution, this day was celebrated with a parade through the streets of Paris. A young woman was chosen to represent the Goddess, and led the processional to the cathedral of Notre Dame, considered a center of learning, whereupon she was presented with a crown of oak leaves. It was hoped that the festivities would make the people aware of the importance of learning.

The Wicca Book of Days for Tuesday, November 10th – Manannan and the Bone Mother

Witchcraft(4 contest of the group)

November 10th

Manannan and the Bone Mother

The Dianic goddess Nicnevin(Nigh Nemhain), also known as the Celtic Bone Mother, is said to ride out on her broom on this night, bringing chaos, confusion and wild weather. A festival for the Celtic sea god Manannan Mac Lir, from whom the Isle of Man takes its name, is also held today. If the night is stormy and seas are high, it is said that instinctive behavior and emotions will prevail over rational thought, while lust will be easily inflamed and sexual passion highly favored, heightened if the moon is full.

Dreamtime

On this night, when the subconscious mind come to the fore, your dreams may be especially vivid or significant. Keep a notebook by your bedside so you can note the details of your dreams upon awakening. Look up the content when you can consult a dream interpretation book.

Khalkeia–Old Greek festival honoring Goddess Athena and God Hephaistos for their gifts of crafts and technology. [a/k/a Hephaistia]

About The Goddess Athena

Daughter of Zeus, and only by him, the Goddess Athena was not generated by any woman. She leaped from the head of Zeus, already adult, dressed with her armor. But the mother is not completely missing from the miraculous birth of Pallas Athena. According to Hesiod’s account of the weddings of Zeus, the King of the Gods chose Metis as his first wife. She was of all beings “the most knowing” (as the word metis is interpreted), or “of many counsels” as translated in the sense of the Homeric epithet polymetis. As she was about to give birth to the Goddess Athena, Zeus deceived his pregnant wife with cunning words and assimilated her into his own body. Mother Earth and Father Sky had advised him to do this so as to prevent any of his descendants from robbing him of his kingly rank. For it was destined that the most brilliant children were to be born to the Goddess Metis: first, the daughter Athena, and later a son, the future King of Gods and men. In the most ancient account, the Iliad, Athena is the Goddess of ferocious and implacable fight, but, wherever she can be found, she only is a warrior to defend the State and the native land against the enemies coming from outside. She is, above all, the Goddess of the City, the protectress of civilized life, of artesian activities, and of agriculture. She also invented the horse-bit, which, for the first time, tamed horses, allowing men to use them. She is the favorite daughter of Zeus; and that’s why he let her use his insignia: the terrible shield, the aegis and his devastating weapon, the ray. The most used expression to describe her is “the bright eyed”. She is the first of the three virgin Goddesses, also known as Maiden, Parthenos, and from this name was taken the name to the most important Temple dedicated to her, the Parthenon. In poetry she is the incarnation of Wisdom, Reason and Purity. Athens is her city; the olive tree, created by her, is her tree; the owl, is the birth consecrated to her.

About the God Hephaistos

Hephaistos was the Greek god of blacksmiths, sculptors, metallurgy, fire and volcanoes; thus, he is symbolized with a hammer, an anvil and a pair of tongs.

According to Homer’s epics, the Iliad and the Odyssey, he was the son of Zeus and Hera. However, Hesiod informs us that Hera bore Hephaistos alone. According to an account, after Hephaistos was born, Hera threw him from Olympus because he was crippled; he fell into the ocean and was raised by Thetis and Eurynome. Another myth has it that he once tried to protect his mother from Zeus’ advances and as a result, the father of the Gods flung him down from Olympus, which caused his physical disability; he fell on the island of Lemnos where he became a master craftsman. He was later accepted back to Olympus, and became the craftsman of the gods, creating majestic armors, shields and weapons.

He was married to Aphrodite; after he learned his wife had an affair with her brother, Ares, he devised a plan with which he humiliated both lovers to the other gods.

Tuesday’s Witchery

Mejserr Bella Cullen ♥TwilightLover373♥Tuesday’s Witchery

Tuesday is the day to work any magick that falls in the category of increasing strength, courage, bravery, and passion. All of these intense emotions are linked to this day’s energies, and spells designed around these themes will have extra punch when performed on this magickal day.

So, let’s add a little passion and conviction into your life! Break out the daring red pieces of your wardrobe, and put a little pizzazz into your day. Work with Lilith, and see what she has to teach you about personal power and sexuality. Meditate onTiw/Tyr and Mars, and see what those ancient warrior gods will show you about new tactics, strategies, and claiming personal victories in your life. Practice conjuring up that astral weapon from the meditation and use it wisely for protection and for courage.

Create a philter for courage and protection or handcraft your own Witch’s jar to remove negativity from your home. See what other Witch crafts you can conjure up with Tuesday’s magick. Create some kitchen magick on this Tuesday by whipping up a spicy stew-add in a few Mars-associated ingredients such as carrots, peppers, and garlic. Empower the stew for success, and then treat yourself and your family to a good, hearty meal. Try working with a little aromatherapy and burn some spicy or coffee-scented candles to increase your energy level.

Check the sky at night, and see if you can find the reddish planet Mars up in the heavens. Not sure where to look? Check an astronomy magazine or search the Web for more information. Become a magickal warrior and move forward in your life with strength, courage, and compassion. Embrace the side of yourself that loves a good challenge and that is passionate and daring! Banish fear, and face your future with strength and conviction. Believe in yourself and in your dreams, work hard, and you will win every time.
