Focus will and energy.

In Glastonbury, England, there’s a famous Hawthorn tree known as the Holy Thorn. The tree that stands there today is supposed to be a descendant of one that stood on Glastonbury Tor two thousand years ago, when Joseph of Arimathea brought the Grail to England from the Holy Land. When Joseph thrust his staff into the ground, it turned into a Hawthorn tree.

Proving oneself can be a personal matter or one related to work, with the implied caution of possible competition with others reaching for the same goal. This is a card of security concerns. A person is focused on security of home and finances, saving money yet also having money to spend. Access to the home is restricted until a person is more familiar with would-be guests. Such a person does not appreciate uninvited or unexpected visitors to the home, nor a presumption of personal familiarity. Reserved and careful, and self-contained, the person is possibly living in comfortable circumstances but has concerns about being taken advantage of and losing what has been gained. Numerology

From a purely mathematical perspective, the 9 stands apart.

Here’s why:

When you multiply any number by 9, then add the resulting digits and reduce them to a single digit, it always becomes a 9. For example, 6 x 9 = 54, reduce 54 to a single digit by adding them together: 5 + 4 = 9. Similarly, 8 x 9 = 72, and 7 + 2 = 9. Or 23 x 9 = 207, 2 + 0 + 7 = 9, and so forth.

There is nothing coincidental about this peculiarity.

Try it. Any number, no matter how large, multiplied by 9 reduces to 9. From a numerological perspective, the 9 simply takes over, like the infamous body snatchers. Any number that was initially increased by a factor of 9 loses its own identity and instead takes on the characteristics of the 9.

No other number has that quality.

A different, but no less distinctive attribute of the 9 happens when you add it to any other number, then reduce that number to a single digit. In this case, it always comes back to itself as if nothing was added at all – it doesn’t change anything from the initial single digit value.

For a math junkie like myself, this is beauty. It symbolically touches the core of the magic that underlies this creation. But enough about math, let’s look at the personality of this unique number.

The highest of the cardinal numbers, the 9 is the most worldly and sophisticated of all.

The 9 has similarities with the 6 – including its shape (turned upside down). However, where the 6 is a symbol of love and compassion directed to people close to them (friends, family, the local community), the 9 offers love and care to the world at large.

The 9, more than any other number, has global consciousness – a reservoir of giving with a generous downward spout.

The 9 lives in the world and understands the connection between all people. Individuals with this number are humanitarians who see no difference between their next-door neighbor and people from different cultures on the other side of the world. The 9 is the least judgmental of all numbers, the most tolerant and the most conscious.

The 9 is overwhelmingly loving and empathetic.

People often regard those with a strong 9 as majestic, graceful, and elevated, but closely connected with the rest of humankind. At the same time, they can be hard to reach, seem aloof, and tend to float above the small-minded issues that can be upsetting to others. However, the 9 is not a leader in the same way the 1 and the 8 are; its influence comes from the higher realms of philosophy and justice. A 9 does not use force or cunning, they just change your mind!

Although they are generally selfless, a 9 is often prosperous. This contradiction helps illustrate the true nature of the 9. Where an 8 becomes financially successful by focusing on the potential reward from an undertaking, 9s earn financial reward by utterly ignoring the monetary potential of an endeavor, the exact opposite of the 8.

As for matters of the heart, the 9 is not particularly romantic.

The 9 can be a difficult romantic partner, not only because they are demanding, but because you never know to what extent you’ve managed to reach them emotionally. 9s tend to hide their hearts, so even after knowing them for many years, the connection can still seem a bit distant.

They are loyal friends but will not allow themselves to become vulnerable. The most telling attribute of the 9 is the always subtle, difficult to pinpoint feeling there is more to them than meets the eye. They carry depth and intuition, and are at all times aware of their surroundings, like a person with over-developed peripheral vision.

As with any number, the 9 has a dark side.

A 9 can be condescending, arrogant, cold, and apathetic towards the suffering of others. When the 9 shows its dark side, it is egotistic, cruel, immoral, and completely untouchable. In Personal Year cycles, the 9 is always followed by the 1; every time you go through that two-year phase (from one year to the next) you go through a transformation of some kind. Look at any period in your life when you went through a 9 Personal Year followed by a 1 Personal Year and you will find this to be true. Then, look at your Essence and Transit cycles to learn what the fundamental nature of that transformation was.

“Take some time out of your usual life and spend it in solitude.”

It ca be difficult these days to spend time in solitude–to unplug, get off the electronic grid, and find a quite place in or near Nature–yet it’s important to do so at this time. Turn off the phone, computer, and television, if only for a few hours. Although you may feel a little anxious and restless upon your first do so, these feelings will pass. Use the time for contemplation and meditation. It’s not isolation; it’s solitude. Solitude is a conscious and loving choice to be alone for a period of time, while isolation is a habitual and reflexive coping pattern to avoid discomfort and intimacy. If possible, take a full day by yourself, and just do whatever you feel like doing. Whatever length of time you spend in solitude, be sure to write as often as you can in your journal.

If you should feel guilty or anxious about the thought of doing this or even while you are actually doing it, use your breath to help you relax. As much as you possibly can during the period of alone time, remind yourself to breath and relax. Whenever you notice your breathing become shallow, take three or four deep breaths and watch your tensions and anxiety dissipate. Enjoy the feeling of having the sacred space of solitude surrounding you. And remember: You’re never really alone.

This is a good time to try out forms of divinations such as scrying or tarot. Reflect about your goals, feelings and matters that have to do with relationship and family. It is also good for transformations, psychic abilities, strength, love, power and fertility.

The Full Moon is also an excellent time to cleanse, purify and charge your crystals. Lay them out so that the moonlight can hit them; if you can do so safely, leave them outside. If not, find a windowsill that catches the moonlight. Don’t just stop at crystals though, your magical tools will also benefit from soaking up the power of the moonlight.

As the Full Moon just passes, the time arrives to put the finishing touches on what you have been doing and to get ready for the quieter time to come. Enjoy beauty and art, listen to music. If you have argued with someone but do not feel the issues are really vital, make up now.

If you live near the sea the Full Moon is a wonderful time to visit the shoreline and (if safe and legal to do so) build a small fire. Collect small pieces of driftwood to buid your fire and, as you lay each piece onto the fire, add a wish. Once the fire is burning nicely, cast offerings into the flames as gifts to the Moon Goddess, such as herbs, flowers and leaves. Sit and watch as the fire burns. If you don’t live near the sea you could turn this into a visualization for a Full Moon meditation.

In this step, while thinking about the question, you or the querent will shuffle Tarot cards in any way you want. After having shuffled Tarot cards and the querent’s mentality has stabilized, we will begin to spread cards. The thing that many beginners usually wonder is how to set up rules for the upright/reversed cards and whether is it necessary to use them or not? How many times to shuffle tarot cards? The shortest answer is to depend on your own convention with the deck. You can use the card either in one direction or both in the upright/reverse.

If you read Tarot cards in the upright direction only, you just need to shuffle them in the usual way. In the traditional way, the querent will shuffle cards before giving readers to spread and solve them. However, this is not an immutable rule, the reader can also shuffle the cards before or after the querent’s turn to increase their focus on the Tarot spread.

Regarding how to set up rules for upright/reversed cards on one spread, you can use one of the followings flexibly:

  • The first way: The querent will be the mark, the upright/reversed Tarot cards will be in the same direction as the querent, thus, the upright card is downstream with the querent, the reversed card is in the opposite direction to the querent.
  • The second way: The reader will be the mark, the upright/reversed cards will be in the reader’s direction. However, this method is not recommended, the querent will have the feeling that the matter appeared on the spread is the reader’s rather than theirs, which will lessen the interaction between the two.

Two of Cups – Romatic love; marriage and all that entails

Description: A young couple toasts one another at their wedding dance. There hands are entwined and they are looking at each other intently.

Interpretation: This is obviously a marriage but is the couple looking at each other with smoldering passion or with contemptuous disdain? It’s either a fabulous match or a complete sham.

If I’ve learned one thing about weddings, it’s that the externals, the trimmings,  don’t matter a jot. If the couple aren’t dancing together as one, then no amount of cakes,  chintz, or confetti will make it work.

Weddings are important, not in a preachy or moralizing way, but in a magical way. The ritual act knits together the couple, their friends, families, and the community.  That’s why, when couples decide to break up,  we all feel shaken. Conversely,  a good wedding renews our vows.

So while the Two of Cups is undoubtedly a wonderful, romantic card that you should beb delighted to receive in a reading, it is also a reminder to consider carefully the ritual of marriage and all that it entails. Marriage is hard at the best of times and deserves a good start. If you choose to do it, you might as well do it right.

What you will need:

The object to be cleansed

Small bowl of water

Regular table salt without Iodine if possible

Feather

White candle

Small white cloth

How to cleanse any object:

Fill in the blanks with the proper element or object depending on where the blank is in the sentence.

If you are cleansing a stone, crystal, gem, semi-precious gem the wording it change to say for each element, “______ I ask you to remove all energies but mine and the _______.”

Add the salt to the water. place the object in the salt water with your power hand (the hand you write with). Then say three times, ” Earth and Water I ask you to remove all energy but my own from this ______”. Take it out of the salt water with your power hand. WARNING: Some gems and crystals should not be left sitting in any type of water. For those things sparingly sprinkle them with the salt water (Earth/Water Element) on all sides.

Place the object on the white cloth. With your power hand pick up the feather. Wave it over the stone saying three times, “Air I ask you to remove all energy but my own from this _______”. Turn the object over and repeat until all outside surface has been done.

Light the white candle then pick the object up in your power hand. Move the object over the top of the flame (being careful not to burn yourself) saying three times, “Fire I ask you to remove all outside energies from this ________”. Turn the stone over and repeat until all outside surface has been done.. Place the object back on the white cloth and blow out the candle.

The white cloth represents Spirit. While an object is laying on the cloth cover it with part of the cloth. Say over it three times, “Spirit I ask you to remove all energies but my own from this ______.”

THE NUMEROLOGY MEANING OF DOUBLE-DIGIT NUMBERS

Thus far, we have worked only with single-digit numbers with the exception of the Master numbers and the Karmic Debt numbers. Now, let’s look at the numbers 10 and up.

A single-digit number can be based on different compound numbers.

The 7, for instance, can be based on 16, 25, 34, 43, 52, 61, 70, 79, 88, and 97. Although they all reduce to 7, each changes the personality of the 7 to some extent. In some cases, the changes are quite dramatic, such as when the double-digit number is a Master number or a Karmic Debt number.

When a single-digit number is based on a double-digit number, it’s a good habit to include it in the numerology chart.

If a 7 is based on 25, write 25/7, if it’s based on 34 write 34/7.

A double-digit number’s characteristics are dominated by that of the single-digit to which it reduces. The double-digit number highlights certain aspects and diminishes others, but it never eliminates any aspect completely.

For example, a 7 based on 25 is not as withdrawn as a 7 based on a 16, while a 7 based on 34 is more creative than other 7s.
