Today’s I Ching Hexagram for Nov. 9th is 64: Nearing Completion

64: Nearing Completion

The situation is incomplete, but the chaos of the past is slowly giving way to order, and the goal is in sight. Nevertheless, you are still treading on thin ice — the way ahead is unobstructed, the goal is clear, but a cautious and careful attitude is essential, lest you slip and fall.

Nearing Completion is the last hexagram of the I Ching. It suggests that the ever-spinning wheel of life never reaches an absolute conclusion. Just as a hidden sadness resides in the heart of true euphoria, just as the seeds of great achievement often sprout first in a cauldron of adversity, so too no end is ever really complete without a new beginning stirring inside it. Though we divide life into categories in order to understand and master it, experience itself is seamless. With this reading, the 64-spoked, timeless wheel of change is ready to spin onward, ever evolving, ever staying the same.

A situation that is represented by this reading can be compared to that of taking a lengthy trek over a high mountain. At some point before reaching the peak, you can see in detail exactly how much farther you must travel. You will have a good idea what it will take to reach the top, because of the climbing experience you’ve accumulated thus far. However, when you do reach the peak, which has been in sight for quite a long period of sustained effort, you will have done only that. You will have reached the top — achieving your initial goal — but you must still descend the other side. This last critical segment is what remains before completion.

You may have little information and no experience of what it’s like descending the other side of the mountain. All your attention may have been focused on the route up. The coming cycle may seem very strange to you, unlike anything that you have experienced before. The backside of the mountain is where all of the true mysteries reside. Proceed carefully, cautiously and alertly — then you will reach your goal.

The Witches Magick for November 7th – Balloon Magick

Witchy Comments
Abracadabra, Zoom!

By Melanie Marquis

If something in your life is moving more slowly than you’d like, balloon magick can bust through the sluggishness fast. Powered by air, the element of swiftness and motion, balloons can impart a burst of speed to any situation. Here’s how. Hold a balloon in your hands and envision the situation you would like to hurry along. State clearly your desire to speed things up. Slowly blow into the balloon, inflating it as you see in your ind the circumstances you want to occur playing out in fast forward, visualizing the steps toward your goal being reached in rapid succession. When the balloon is fully inflated, envision a very clear image of the end result your are hoping to quickly achieve. Release your hold on the balloon’s end, letting your magick zoom off with it as the air rushes out, imparting an energy of fast-moving action to your spell.

A Little Humor – A Dog’s Letter To God

A Dog’s Letter To God

Dear God, Let me give you a list of just some of the things I must remember to be a good dog.

  1. I  will not eat the cats’ food before they eat it or after they throw it up.
  2. I will not roll on dead seagulls, fish, crabs, etc., just because I like the way they smell.
  3. I will not munch on   “leftovers” in the kitty litter box, although they are tasty.
  4. The diaper pail is not a cookie jar.
  5. The sofa is not a ‘face towel’. Neither are Mom and Dad’s laps.
  6. The garbage collector is not stealing our stuff.
  7. My head does not belong in the refrigerator.
  8. I will not bite the officer’ s hand when he reaches in for Mom’s driver’s license and registration.
  9. I will not play tug-of-war with Dad’s underwear when he’s on the toilet.
  10. Sticking my nose into someone’s crotch is an unacceptable way of saying   “hello”.
  11. I don’t need to suddenly stand straight up when I’m under the coffee table.
  12. I must shake the rainwater out of my fur before entering the house – not after.
  13. I will not throw up in the car.
  14. I will not come in from outside and immediately drag my butt.
  15. I will not sit in the middle of the living room and lick my crotch when we have company.
  16. The cat is not a ‘squeaky toy’ so when I play with him and he makes that noise, it’s usually not a good thing.
  17. I must remember to lick my butt after I lick their face, not before.

All Hail the Mighty Hunter!
Leader of the Wild Hunt,
Hounds leaping and baying
At his command,
Alpha of the pack,
With teeth that close on the throat
Of the largest, strongest prey,
Predator against whom none can stand.
You who understand the cycle,
Who accepts the sacrifice,
Who takes the offering of your prey,
Wolf who runs with his brothers and sisters,
Great panther who hunts alone,
Bear huge and fierce of claw
Weasel and marten, dark and sly,
Faithful dog that runs to the kill,
Teach us that when Fate comes for us,
It is our place to surrender.
Teach us that when we are overrun,
It is our place to weed out.
Teach us to understand Death
From the side of your implacable eyes.

Hail, Lord of the Forest!
The deer are gathering
In these your deepest woods,
Great stag with antlers wide and proud,
Soft-eyed doe for whom
The warriors clash their horns,
Delicate fawn mottled as the underbrush.
The hares are finding
Their winter burrows,
The squirrels collecting
Their hoards of fodder,
The pheasant and quail
Readying themselves for the season
Of death on many sides.
You who understands
The desperate chase,
Heart pounding, feet pounding,
Knowing well that death
Is your destiny,
Help us to make peace
With the oncoming challenge
And to know that it is only
One of our many moments
In the cycle of life.

Chant:
Horned One, Lover, Son,
Leaper in the corn
Deep in the Mother
Die and be reborn.

(As the last sound of the chant dies away, all bow to the altar and leave room in silence.)

Today’s Tarot Card for November 3 is The Chariot

The Chariot

Traditionally, the card usually entitled the Chariot points to a triumphal feeling of freedom, as if the charioteer is being paraded through the streets as a hero (or heroine). The card reflects congratulations for high achievement, and serves as a sign of empowerment.

Huge wheels and frisky steeds speed the rate at which the driver’s willpower can be realized. This kind of charge makes more of the world accessible to anyone ambitious enough to seize the Chariot’s reins. But there is danger in this feeling of freedom, because of the increased rate of change and its power to magnify mistakes in judgment. As a seasoned warrior, the Charioteer is called upon to be extra attentive to the way ahead.

Today’s I Ching Hexagram for 30 ~ 53: A Steady Pace

53: A Steady Pace

Like an ancient old-growth forest — where the subtle play of light, texture and shadows is the product of a process measured in centuries and inches — most things of lasting value develop gradually, at their own pace. The ability to learn from experience — one of humanity’s greatest capacities — implies constant yet gradual progress. The combination of stillness within and determination without are the essence of this dynamic. Good things sometimes sprout quickly; the truly delightful take much longer.

The principle of gradual development applies also to human relationships. For love and marriage or any important partnership to endure, progress must be slow but steady: slow enough to allow for the bonds to knit properly; steady enough to keep moving in the right direction.

You can’t expect to have everything all at once. Development must be allowed to take its proper course and allotted time; events must neither be rushed nor manipulated, but allowed to unfold naturally. In this way, you will come to enjoy long-lasting relationships and achieve success.

A Laugh A Day ~ The Truth About Cats

The Truth About Cats

  1. There is no snooze button on a cat who wants breakfast.
  2. Thousands of years ago, cats were worshipped as gods. Cats have never forgotten this.
  3. Cats are smarter than dogs. You can’t get eight cats to pull a sled through snow.
  4. In a cat’s eye, all things belong to cats.
  5. As every cat owner knows, nobody owns a cat.
  6. “One cat just leads to another.” — Ernest Hemingway
  7. Dogs come when they’re called; cats take a message and get back to you later.
  8. Cats are rather delicate creatures and they are subject to a good many ailments, but I never heard of one who suffered from insomnia.
  9. People who hate cats, will come back as mice in their next life.
  10. Cats aren’t clean, they’re covered with cat spit.
  11. A dog will jump on your lap because he likes you; a cat will jump on your lap because it’s warmer than the floor.

Live beyond it

Live beyond it

Don’t live with the disappointment. Live beyond it.

You cannot stop what has already happened. However, you can let it make you  stronger and more determined.

Instead of dwelling on the pain or injustice of what has happened, imagine  the best possible outcome. Then get busy moving yourself steadily and  passionately toward that outcome.

Life has the power to disappoint. Yet you have the power of life, and the  power to move on to bigger and better things.

When you have been disappointed, it means you truly care, and that’s a very  positive thing. Zero in on what you care about, and put your energy into  advancing those things in your life.

Look ahead, and look at all the good and valuable things you can do. Look  ahead, and step confidently forward with a renewed sense of purpose and  determination.

Halloween Activities For Children Of Any Age!

Halloween Activities For Children Of Any Age!
By Jade, Order of the White Moon
.
Eyeball Spoon Race.  This is a spin-off of the traditional egg on the spoon race.  You need one Ping-Pong ball for every spoon.  Draw eyes (bloodshot or pretty etc…) on the Ping-Pong balls.  The children then race with the Ping-Pong balls balancing on the spoon.  To make things more difficult, have the free arm behind the back.  Adults can do this blindfolded with their team partner calling their name to give them direction.    The children then get to keep the ping pong eyeballs as a toy.
Fishing for Fortunes.  Another children’s activity.  You need a clear fishbowl (or other bowl) and fill it up with various mini toys (inexpensive ones).  An adult or teen is the fortune teller and the child comes to the table and draws out a prize from the fishbowl.  The fortune teller than tells a fortune based on the prize drawn.  For example, if the child drew out a quarter, they could be told that they will go on to find a buried treasure someday.  Or if they drew out a pencil they could be told that they will become a writer etc……
Mummy Wrap:    This may be difficult for me to explain.  Get one roll of toilet paper.  You also need one prize for each child participating in this game.  (plastic spiders, rings etc…..)  You will unroll the toilet  paper and re-roll it.  As you unroll it, place a prize every once in a while and re-roll the toilet paper so it now contains prizes throughout it.  The children sit in a circle and each person takes a turn wrapping (mummifying) part of their body.  The wrap this body part until they come to the prize.  Then the prize is theirs and they tear the paper off at that point and pass it to the next child.
Pin The Stem On The Pumpkin.  (or any other variation you can come up with….maybe pin the hat on the witch)  You need some markers and a large piece of posterboard.  Draw the Pumpkin on the posterboard and color it in.  Out of a smaller piece of posterboard, make the stem and cut it out.  I just use sticky tack on the back of the stem.  You need a blindfold.  Blindfold the person who is ready to give it a try and give them the stem with the sticky tack on it.  Turn them around three times and make sure they are facing the larger poster to start.  They then try to “pin” the stem on the pumpkin.  (basically this is just pin the tail on the donkey but themed to Halloween)
Ghost In The Air:  You need one (or more to make it challenging) white balloon with ghost eyes drawn on it. (blow up the balloon)  The children have to keep the balloon(s) in the air at all times.
Witches Stew:  You need drinking straws (one for each person) and various construction paper cut outs in Halloween shapes (each shape should  be about the size of a yo-yo).  And a cauldron or bowl. Place the shapes in a pile beside the cauldron.  Using the straw as a vacuum, each child should try to pick up a shape and place  in the cauldron to make the Witches stew.  You can time the players to see who is fastest or have two players compete against each other at the same time. (given equal shapes)
Just a Little Witch on High
She’ll tell you that
your love is nigh.
Your fortune on Hallowe’en
when told
My secret will the Witch unfold.

I Have A Question

I would like to ask you a question. I don’t know what your opinion of me is but I do not wish to offend anyone. I am very easy going till made mad. I am a nice person, honest.

I would like to know if the joke I just put on here offends you. Material like that I find funny. I know others might find it offensive. I don’t know how far I can go with you is my point. I don’t want to cross the line. I want to keep the material were you enjoy it. Do you mind just a little adult humor? Nothing nasty like the “f” word, I mean like ass and mild words like that.

The site we use for our jokes had a cute joke I started to use. Then I stopped because I didn’t know how you would feel about it. It showed how to make different butts with your computer keys. Then it had what the butts meant beside them. One of them was a kiss my a** butt and that is what it said out beside it. But I didn’t use it because I want to know how you feel about such material.

I would appreciate your comments about this topic. Do you like strictly clean jokes or do you mind a little mild adult humor every now and then?

Thank you,

Annie

Selket’s Day

Colors: Bronze and Black
Element: Air
Altar: Upon cloth of black place a bronze figurine of a scorpion, and four black candles.
Offerings: Help someone who is a troublemaker.
Daily Meal: Lentils, flatbread, millet, pomegranates.

Invocation to Selket

Lady of the Scorpion’s Whip,
Implacable one, hardest of the Four Deaths,
Sun of the unforgiving desert at high noon,
You blast down upon all wrongdoing
And show those wrongs in their true light.
Lady of the Poison Tail,
You are entrusted with those souls
Who have not done what they should do,
Who have spurned the path they were meant to walk,
Who have struggled and lashed out,
Who have caused hurt and pain to others.
Your firm hand takes them in, guides them
To see what they have done through eyes
Unclouded by their own pain,
And leads them to a place of understanding
And perhaps repentance. And yet,
There is something of this is all of us,
Some part of each that needs your guiding hand
Lest we think ourselves too perfect
And become uncompassionate in our pride.
Lady of the Scorpion’s Whip,
Sting us to the heart, and show us
That poison still within us,
That we may better learn to ride its strike,
That we may better learn to heal its wounds.

(Each comes forward, one at a time, and touches the tail of the Scorpion, which should be sharp. Each tells Selket, aloud or silently, where the poison is in them which makes them hurt others, and asks for her help in controlling it.)

Mordgud’s Blot

Color: Black
Element: Earth
Altar: Upon cloth of black set many knives laid end to end in a pathway, crossed with a single spear. Set also a chalice of mead and seven black candles.)
Offerings: Blood.
Daily Meal: Meat.

Invocation to Mordgud

Hail, Mordgud, Gatekeeper of the Dark Road,
Helvegr’s watchwoman, never sleeping,
Your dark eyes watch always the oncoming road
For the lost soul who must be rescued,
Wandering in the dark with no hope
Of being gathered to Hela’s peaceful breast.
Hail, Right Hand of Hel, Warrior who protects the Way
From those who would plunder the wisdom
Of the slumbering Dead, who would raid
The secrets of the Underworld,
From those who would wreak their doom
In foolishness before their time,
All these you turn away with upraised hand,
Though fools may not understand
The kindness that you do them.
Hail, Guardian of Hel’s Gate,
Whose eyes see the Dead, in all their forms,
Weeping, sleeping, bewildered and fearful,
Laughing with open arms,
All are ushered through your Gate
With your exquisite compassion and comfort
For you leave none behind.
By the Dark Road of Stars, we hail you, Lady of the Last Gate!
By the roaring river Gjoll, we hail you, Mistress of the Last Spear!
By the gold-roofed bridge, we hail you, Mistress of the Black Tower!
By the passage of knives, we hail you, Mistress of the Knife’s Way!
May you welcome us in our hour of need.

(All come forth and prick their fingers, and wipe the blood on the tip of Mordgud’s spear, saying, “Welcome me in my time through the last gate.” The mead is poured out as libation.)

Today’s I Ching Hexagram for Oct. 8: 38: Diverging Interests

38: Diverging Interests

An image of estrangement is indicated here. One example used in ancient Chinese texts is how when brothers and sisters marry, they grow apart, since their allegiances now lie with new family groups. Though they will remain close enough to successfully deal with problems and share minor interests, they will be unable to undertake anything big together. Simply put, when people grow apart — even for the most natural of reasons — their points of view, values and interests start to diverge.

Diverging interests bring opposition into the world of human affairs. And when differences morph into alienation and enmity, no good results. But when opposition takes the form of healthy competition, or when contrasting energies or positions are seen as part of the natural order of things, good fortune is still possible.

Even when diverging energies make a situation seem stagnant or futile, there are always creative possibilities inherent in polarities. One is reminded of the yin-yang interplay that is fundamental to the creation of life itself. But when opposition arises from issues of principle, you must hold to your integrity and individuality. And avoid becoming involved with vulgar or base people who do not share your values. With both people and companies, one measure of stature is the quality of the competition.

Today’s I Ching Hexagram for October 3 is 19: Approach of Spring

19: Approach of Spring

Hexagram 19

General Meaning:  It is as if spring is approaching. Good times ahead feel inevitable; there is vitality in the air. This is a most auspicious time. Like a snake emerging from hibernation, negative forces are barely stirring and can be effectively controlled. This is a time of hopeful progress, and must be used to best advantage. When approaching good fortune, paying attention to what is happening now earns great dividends. All in all, a clear road lies ahead.

Take some action now, for at some point this ripe opportunity for advancement will be reversed. No spring lasts forever. It’s wise to stay alert and note the changing seasons and the energy they call for.

Spring is the season of new relationships. In the bounty of good times, new bonds form effortlessly. Relationships born in spring can serve well to warm the following autumn and winter.

Cleansing Cursed Objects

Cleansing Cursed Objects

To rid negativity from objects that are cursed or seem unlucky, perform the following spell when the moon is at its fullest:

Go to a river or stream that runs north to south, place the object in the water and say:

“Trapped inside is a curse, now removed you’ll be with this verse,”

Running water, spirits good. Remove this curse. So Mote It Be.”

Remove the object, cast a silver coin and a handful of Thyme into it’s waters and leave.

*Do not cleanse anything containing Iron.

Is Fall Sapping Your Energy? 5 Tips to “Fall” Back On

Is Fall Sapping Your Energy? 5 Tips to “Fall” Back On

By Debbie Mandel, Intent.com

The winds of seasonal change are blowing. There is plenty of orange going around from falling leaves out here in the East to carved pumpkins and mums on  doorsteps. In color therapy, orange is the hue of cheerfulness. Therefore I expect to be greeted with sunny dispositions; instead I hear a few mumbled words  and observe allergic eyes, sluggish gaits and stuffy noses.

Fall compels you to take stock of your home, garden, school curriculum and work. You note what is depleted and what areas require innovation. While change  is stimulating, it can be stressful because for awhile you live in ambiguity to see if things will work out. Instead of rigorously following the tracks you  have carefully mapped out, try not to lose track of living in the moment. Nature is a great teacher. Let nature take you on a walk to be present-alive and  alert-to what is meaningful in life.

To power up:

* Fall back on the things that bring you simple pleasures like laughter, massage, well-prepared hearty food, music, art, good  friends-including people and pets.

* Don’t fall down, fall up! Become a work in progress. And if others ask you questions that make you feel small and unimportant, tell  them that you are still under construction.

* Rake the leaves, fall on the pile and show your true colors. Even if you have been hurt in the past, the more you open your heart  andreveal your inner child, the lighter and happier you will feel.

* Build an identity totem pole on your desk. What small objects fortify your spirit? On my desk I have a photo of a bee on a rose, a  smooth river rock and an aloe plant- it could be horizontal.

* Find physical exercises which energize your mind. If you have to develop a difficult project at work, walk uphill to mirror your climb  to the summit. If you cannot release a sad situation, then play catch with a friend using a basketball or-for greater intensity-a weighted medicine ball.  Imagine when you throw the ball off your chest, you let go of the negativity. When you catch the ball, you catch the abundance of life.

Regarding those fall allergies, keep yourself in balance to minimize the little stressors that cause that tipping point. If you don’t feel better,  consult your doctor for medication.

Merry Meet & Blessed Thursday To All My Precious Friends!

Good Thursday morning, dear ones! I hope you are having a super fantastic day. I am sorry about yesterday. I had a little accident Tuesday night and had to go to the hospital. I ended up with 28 stitches in my left arm. It was really tender yesterday. My husband made me stay in bed with my arm laying on a pillow. I got bored, sleep a lot, got bored some more but I enjoyed being waited on hand and foot. Now if he would just do that when something wasn’t wrong with me, lol! I have took several pain pills today. It is still sore to type but bearable.

I went out to check on all the critters at dusk. To make sure their enclosures were locked and they were all right. In the fields, I heard the coyotes howling and on the prowl. When I hear them, I either sit on the porch with Kiki (we have gates at both ends were she can’t get out) or I keep the window in the bedroom open. I heard the coyotes keep getting closer and closer. Finally they were up in the pen area, I went flying out the door. My husband was right behind me with the rifle. When I got to the enclosures the coyotes were trying to get to the baby fawn. My husband fired shots and hit one of them and the others ran off.  I checked the outside of the fawn’s enclosure and the coyotes had been digging. That scared me to death, so I open the door and went in to check on the fawn.  I fought the fawn in the corner, laying down scared to death, shaking but she was fine. It was dark and I didn’t notice the other corner. In it was a coyote trying to escape. I turned around and I guess he felt threatened by me and he had a good right too. He lunged at me and I put my left arm up to block him from my face. My arm when right in his mouth and of course, he bit down as hard as he could. My husband came running in the enclosure and took the butt of the rifle and beat him till he let go of me. Then my husband immediately shot him. My arm had flesh torn and was bleeding like a stuck hog. My husband kept insisting we go to the hospital RIGHT NOW. I told him to fix the hole and get some flat brick and put around the fawn enclosure. He worked like a mad man running around fixing the foundation of the enclosure. Then he had to drag the coyote out of the enclosure. The coyote has been picked up and sent off to see if it has rabies or not. But I don’t think it did, I think it just felt threatened and it was dark and he attacked me. Most of the time, you can holler at a coyote and they will run. They are more scared of you, than you are of them. But back to the story, I went to the hospital, they took x-rays to make sure no bones were broke. Then they figured out were all the skin went and started sewing me back up. And that is how I ended up with the stitches and not being here yesterday. Fun, fun, fun! NOT! But everybody has went around all the enclosures and double check to make sure that the brick foundations are in place. The reason one side of the fawn’s enclosure didn’t have brick was because the guys had just built it. Now it has a double brick foundation. Thank goodness.

I missed all of you. I hope you missed me too. You know you don’t know how much you miss your friends till you can’t get to them. Especially when they don’t know what the hell is going on too, that makes it bad. But now you know and I am glad you do. I don’t want you to think they have fired me around here, lmao! The drugs just kicked in! I am going to run for now. I hope you have a super fantastic day.

Blessings to you and yours,

Love,

Lady A
