I am not feeling any better than yesterday as it is still below 0F here and in the double digit below 0F with the wind chill factor. But I do not want to take off another day and you miss out on the daily posts I try to do every day. So even though all the extras’ posts are missing at least you are getting the regular everyday posts. It will probably be the same for the rest of this week. I hope you will bear with me while I am in this fibromyalgia super flare and the pain from arthritis and stick around until I can bring you extra posts about a wide range of pagan and some other topics.
Life in The Craft mini magazine will still be going out on January 30th, so you have the stuff it covers for Imbolc which falls on February 1st.
Binding spell
Binding spells should be used as a last resort, when all else has failed.
Items that you will need in order to perform this spell:
1 picture of the victim or there name on a peace of paper
1 white ribbon
Time: Any
Ritual: Take the white ribbon and wrap it around the picture over and over tighter and tighter until its at its end. While you are wrapping the picture say the following
” I bind you ______ from doing harm against others and harm against yourself””
Say until you have completely wrapped the ribbon around the picture.

Stars, Dust, and Gas Near Antares

Explanation: Why is the sky near Antares and Rho Ophiuchi so dusty yet colorful? The colors result from a mixture of objects and processes. Fine dust — illuminated from the front by starlight — produces blue reflection nebulae. Gaseous clouds whose atoms are excited by ultraviolet starlight produce reddish emission nebulae. Backlit dust clouds block starlight and so appear dark. Antares, a red supergiant and one of the brighter stars in the night sky, lights up the yellow-red clouds on the lower right of the featured image. The Rho Ophiuchi star system lies at the center of the blue reflection nebula on the top left. The distant globular cluster of stars M4 is visible above and to the right of Antares. These star clouds are even more colorful than humans can see, emitting light across the electromagnetic spectrum.

A Gorgeous Ritual for Tonight’s Magic
- Light any of the following scents/incenses: Clove, Eucalyptus, Lilac, Musk seed, Nutmeg, Sage, Sandalwood. These herbs and oils help activate the psychic nature of tonight’s Moon in Pisces.
- Invoke the open-minded energy of the Fish with this chant:
“Like the stars above, I’m in a constant and fluid movement.
I explore and develop my spirituality like a smart and diligent student”. - Take a piece of paper. Write in clear letters your deepest wish. Don’t overthink. Instead, just start writing. Visualize your idea of a perfect future and write it down in the present tense. The First Quarter Moon is a time of abundance and growth, so think BIG! Be clear and precise, whether it’s a love request, a money target, or just a dream to work towards.
- Light a white candle on your altar. Place it next to your petition and leave it there.
- Next to your candle, place a Black Tourmaline, Sapphire, or Amethyst. These crystals are great for Saturdays, they will absorb the energy of tonight’s moon and release it gently during the next few days.
- Meditate for a while. Then take the paper and paste it in your diary, Book of Mirrors, or (optionally) hide it in a secret place.

Here’s When Every Planet Is Retrograde in 2022
Unless you live under a hunk of fallen meteorite, you’ve probably heard about Mercury retrograde, the quarterly mayhem that occurs when the messenger planet passes the Earth, appearing from our vantage point to go backward. For three weeks, we can blame every Internet outage, petty fight and canceled brunch plan on a spinning rock 48 million miles away.
But did you know? Every single planet goes retrograde at some point. With the exception of Venus and Mars, the planets all have retrograde cycles every year.
Grab your calendar: We took the liberty of mapping out all the 2022 retrogrades for you so you can use these planetary power outages as transformational cycles.
What is a retrograde?
A planet could be retrograde—meaning that from the vantage point of Earth, it appears to be spinning backward. What’s really happening? Well, the Earth is completing its orbit around the Sun faster than other planets outside its orbit. Periodically, it will outpace them—and that’s when retrograde mayhem breaks loose.
Much like a speeding car or train passing a slower one, the planet that’s being passed will appear to stop and move backward—which is the apparent retrograde period.
Then, once the Earth completely passes this planet in its orbit, the motion appears normal again, and the planet is said to be “direct” or “prograde” (to use the snappy scientific term). Chances are, you’ve been in a vehicle that felt like it was moving in reverse when it was passed, so you know the feeling!
What about the “shadow” period?
