At Lammas, the Sun is at the very peak of Leo, the sign this planet loves above all others. Our star’s warmth is at its most powerful now in the Northern Hemisphere, as it appears directly overhead. Explanation: 

Here is one of the most famous pictures from the Moon — but digitally reversed. Apollo 11 landed on the moon in 1969 and soon thereafter many pictures were taken, including an iconic picture of Buzz Aldrin taken by Neil Armstrong. The original image captured not only the magnificent desolation of an unfamiliar world, but Armstrong himself reflected in Aldrin’s curved visor. Enter modern digital technology. In the featured image, the spherical distortion from Aldrin’s helmet has been reversed. The result is the famous picture — but now featuring Armstrong himself from Aldrin’s perspective. Even so, since Armstrong took the picture, the image is effectively a five-decade old lunar selfie. The original visor reflection is shown on the left, while Earth hangs in the lunar sky on the upper right. A foil-wrapped leg of the Eagle lander is prominently visible. Preparations to return humans to the Moon in the next few years include the Artemis program, an international collaboration led by NASA.

As Spring reaches its midpoint, night and day stand in perfect balance, with light on the increase. The young Sun God now celebrates a hierogamy (sacred marriage) with the young Maiden Goddess, who conceives. In nine months, she will again become the Great Mother. It is a time of great fertility, new growth, and newborn animals.

The next full moon (a time of increased births) is called the Ostara and is sacred to Eostre the Saxon Lunar Goddess of fertility (from whence we get the word estrogen, whose two symbols were the egg and the rabbit.

The Christian religion adopted these emblems for Easter which is celebrated on the first Sunday after the first full moon following the vernal equinox. The theme of the conception of the Goddess was adapted as the Feast of the Annunciation, occurring on the alternative fixed calendar date of March 25 Old Lady Day, the earlier date of the equinox. Lady Day may also refer to other goddesses (such as Venus and Aphrodite), many of whom have festivals celebrated at this time.

Ostara marks the Spring Equinox, which happens between March 19 -23. Ostara is a pagan celebration of the German goddess Eostre and the origins of the Christian celebration of Easter. As the beginning of spring Ostara is a good time to literally and figuratively plant seeds for the future.

In modern day living Ostara is also good time to start taking action on the ideas and goals you started thinking about around Yule and Imbolc. What you plant during Ostara will be ready to be harvested during the coming summer months and the sabbats of Beltane, Litha and Lughnasadh.

Ostara is also a good time to freshen up your home and life. Take time to do some spring cleaning. Cleaning isn’t just limited to your home. Take some time to declutter and clean up areas where you spend a lot of time, like your car, your computer (delete those old emails!) or your work office.

Known as the pagan Thanksgiving, Mabon marks the Autumn Equinox, when day and night are equal, making it a time of balance, equality and harmony.  In ancient times Mabon was a celebration of the second harvest (Lughnasadh was the first) when farmers gathered hearty foods like gourds, pumpkins, grapes and apples.

Modern Mabon celebrations are a time to give thanks for the abundance of Mother Earth – both literally and spiritually.  It’s also a good time to reflect on the Wheel of the Year, recognizing your successes and letting go of the things that did not serve you during the past twelve months.

History Of Mabon

Modern Pagans began celebrating Mabon as the last of the eight Sabbats in the 1970s, but its roots as a harvest festival go back to ancient times.

Named after the ancient Welsh hero named Mabon ap Modron, which means Son of Mother, Mabon is the second of three harvest festivals that take place in the Wheel of the Year (Lughnasadh is the first and Samhain is the third).  Similar to Apollo, the figure of Mabon was depicted as a handsome youth with a lyre. As a baby Mabon was said to have been held hostage as a baby in the underworld, similar to the story of Persephone and Demeter.

How to Cleanse Objects Using the Elements

The following should be used to cleanse any object for Magickal use and jewelry you buy or get as a gift. Be it a Ritual tool, amulet for protection or other need, any object to be charmed/enchanted for a specific reason. It can also be used on any jewelry or any other gift your receive.

The purpose for this is to rid the object of anyone else’s energy who may have handled at some point in
time. Thus it will only have your personal and Universal energies attached to it, making the object totally
yours.

This should also be done if anyone besides you picks up and/or touches the object. It should also be done to a black stone weekly if it has been empowered to collect negative energies to ensure it is always at its peak of power to collect negativity before it gets overloaded and leaks onto and/or into you and.or someone else.

What you will need:

The object to be cleansed

Small bowl of water

Regular table salt without Iodine if possible

Feather

White candle

Small white cloth

How to cleanse any object:

Fill in the blanks with the proper element or object depending on where the blank is in the sentence.

If you are cleansing a stone, crystal, gem, semi-precious gem the wording it change to say for each element, “______ I ask you to remove all energies but mine and the _______.”

Add the salt to the water. place the object in the salt water with your power hand (the hand you write with). Then say three times, ” Earth and Water I ask you to remove all energy but my own from this ______”. Take it out of the salt water with your power hand. WARNING: Some gems and crystals should not be left sitting in any type of water. For those things sparingly sprinkle them with the salt water (Earth/Water Element) on all sides.

Place the object on the white cloth. With your power hand pick up the feather. Wave it over the stone saying three times, “Air I ask you to remove all energy but my own from this _______”. Turn the object over and repeat until all outside surface has been done.

Light the white candle then pick the object up in your power hand. Move the object over the top of the flame (being careful not to burn yourself) saying three times, “Fire I ask you to remove all outside energies from this ________”. Turn the stone over and repeat until all outside surface has been done.. Place the object back on the white cloth and blow out the candle.

The white cloth represents Spirit. While an object is laying on the cloth cover it with part of the cloth. Say over it three times, “Spirit I ask you to remove all energies but my own from this ______.”

All Signs

Last week, lucky Jupiter returned to Aquarius where it will stay for the rest of the year. This lovely benefit will not return again for any of us until 2033. (That sounds so far off in the future, doesn’t it? But it’s only 12 years. Time flies when you’re unconscious.) Let’s take a look at what this excellent benefit means for each of us because it’s encouraging to hear good news. In the meantime, remember that the choices you make today, change the future you will have tomorrow. (Especially if you’ve been shopping all day on line and charging everything to your credit card.)

Aries (March 21-April 19)

From now until the end of the year, your life will flow more easily. Certainly, relations with authority figures and people in power will improve. This will also be an excellent window to make plans because you will be keen to “think big.” You will enjoy increased popularity with friends as well as groups and organizations. It’s also important for you to know that you need to be with people from now to the rest of the year. This is because friends will be more than usually supportive to you. This is definitely not a time to go it alone. Naturally, this support is mutual – it works both ways! They will benefit you – and you will benefit them. The best formula for all relationships.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

Things are looking good for you from now until the end of the year because lucky Jupiter will be sitting at the top of your chart! This signifies that your reputation will be stellar! The reason for this stunning reputation might be due to a promotion or some kind of public recognition, kudos or something quite marvellous so that you earn the esteem of your peers. You will do very well at whatever you do! The only downside is your success might be a threat to some. Many of you will travel more than usual connected with your work. Gemini (May 21-June 20)

It bodes well for you when Jupiter is in Aquarius because this means Jupiter is in your fellow Air Sign, which means this energy supports you. Virtually, it will make the rest of this year much easier for you and will even boost your health and give you a stronger sense of well-being. Because Jupiter is associated with the wealth and increase, your finances will be solid and they might improve. (You will likely also spend more.) Travel opportunities will increase for you. Whatever happens is bound to benefit you, especially in practical terms. (Some will have a meaningful, spiritual conversion.)

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

For the rest of the year, lucky Jupiter will be opposite your sign, which is a positive influence! This represents a time of culmination where you will expand your impact in the world. If opportunities arise – pursue them! This is also a time when you might acquire possessions, money, and perhaps social prestige because things will tend to come your way. It will definitely benefit your one-to-one encounters with others, which is why this is an excellent time for Leos to get married. Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Jupiter in Aquarius is a wonderful thing because Jupiter is in your fellow Air Sign, which is super supportive! (Like the third leg on a three-legged stool.) Your health will improve for the rest of the year, and you will feel relaxed and happier. Admittedly, weight gain is possible because you will be less inclined to physical activity because life feels so good. (“Will someone peel me another grape?”) Likewise, because Jupiter rules wealth, your own wealth will improve for the rest of year. You will do something to make your surroundings more elegant. (This will please you because more than any other sign, you are affected by your immediate surroundings.) “I love that brocade!” Expect increased joy with children. Take a vacation.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

For the rest of the year, you will have opportunities to improve where you live. You might do renovations, home improvements or repairs. You will enjoy redecorating. Others will actually change residence and move to something bigger and better or something that better suits their needs? Likewise, you will benefit from real estate if you buy and sell property. Whatever you do that is related to your home will benefit you! By extension, relations with your family will improve. Family members will be more generous to each other as well as more supportive and helpful. You will strengthen important foundations in your life. Most reassuring!

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Lovely things will happen for you from now until the end of the year, because lucky Jupiter will boost your power of positive thinking! (This is great because optimism is a survival factor for Sagittarians. You have to believe something better is around the next corner.) The pace of your days will accelerate. You will discard old thought patterns. Your plans for the future will be bigger and more expansive in part because you will realize that many of the limitations you thought were imposed from without, were actually self-imposed. (A wake-up call!) Relations with relatives will improve. This is a great time to take up a new study.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

You will be happier because from now until the end of the year, your finances will improve. Many of you will become richer or you will treat yourself to things so that you feel richer. (Veni vidi Visa. We came, we saw, we went shopping.) And while it is true that you will likely get richer through earnings or increased assets; because Jupiter is the sign that is associated with wisdom, the truth is that what you will manifest is whatever it is in your life that you truly most value. Therefore, for those of you who value your spiritual or inner world, this is the dimension that will be enriched. (What? Peace and happiness instead of money? No fair!)

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
