TO GIVE SOMEONE A DREAM
TO GIVE SOMEONE A DREAM
You need: — A dish of earth a cup or cauldron of water a candle
(check color correspondences for whatever kind of dream you will be sending)
and some incense (any kind, this is just to symbolize air).
If you have an altar it should go in the middle of wherever you are placing these objects.
Put the earth to the North the incense to the East the fire to the South and the water to the West.
Then sit in the middle by your altar or just in the middle.
Visualize the dream you wish to give and after you’re done visualizing say this:
“Lord and Lady I ask of thee
Give me the ability to send forth this dream
Across the Earth or water’s bound
Whether he/she be in the sky or on the ground
By the powers of fire to let it shine bright
By the powers of earth and air to send it tonight
By the powers of water to sweep within dream’s door
And by the powers of 3 shall _____ remember it evermore
Sleep in the knowledge the dream will be projected to the person you have visualized.
Be sure to go through every detail of what you wish to send.
Prophetic Dreams Spell
Prophetic Dreams Spell
Before You Begin: Be Careful This is a rather simple spell, but you are “playing with fire” before bedtime. Make sure you have extinguished all burning things before you cross into slumber. Sprinkle some Jasmine on your pillow, and make sure you have a dream-journal or the like at your bedside to record your dreams in, and brew a cup of mugwort tea. (NOTE: mugwort is unhealthy in large doses, so go easy, and consult an Herbal Reference book if you’re worried.) Light blue candles on your altar. If you want to gain insight into your passions or your loves, burn Damiana as well. Watch the smoke as it coils, and allow it to carry you off into the trance-like state that you spend most of the day avoiding. Say whatever comes to mind, appealing to the Goddess or God of your choice to guide your dreams. I usually say something like:
Blessed be the Lord and Lady, For they created the world, The earth to hold,
The sun to warm, The moon to guide, The spirit to dream.
Take sips of the mugwort tea as you repeat the words, gaze into the smoke, and when you feel yourself just about to “cross the line” blow out the candle(s) and say:
“So mote it be.”
Go to sleep. Dream away. Just remember, you don’t always get to hear what you’d like.
AN OESTARA RITUAL
AN OESTARA RITUAL
The main points of this sabbath are those of balance and of spring.
This ritual is best performed outdoors. In advance you will need to collect a small handful of old leaves and write on each something that you would like to be rid of. Also take a small number of seeds or seedlings (if these seedlings come from the seeds you planted at Imbolg, so much the better), one for each new thing that you wish to attain.
Silently ask the elements, the Goddess and the God to be with you, then when you are ready, dig a hole large enough to give space to the seedlings you wish to grow and place the dead leaves into it. Say, ‘Lord and Lady of this time of balance, these are the things I wish to be rid of. As these leaves wither and rot, may I let go of those things that might hold me back’.
Next place one or two seedlings on top of the leaves. Say, ‘Lord and Lady, these are the things which I wish to attain in the coming season. Let them grow strong and true from the remains of the old’.
As before, thank the elements, the Goddess and the God.
Remember that for ritual to work, you should give more thought to your preparations than the time you actually spend performing the ritual. In this case, that preparation includes carefully choosing the things you wish to leave behind and the things you wish to take on. On a more practical level, it will also include selecting plants appropriate to your area and climate outside, as well as a suitable place to plant them. If you cannot perform your ritual outside, then you can either scale down everything and work with a single plant pot or you can dedicate your leaves and plant indoors and go out to plant them at a later date.

13 Hrethemonath
Day of Oath to the Earth
Color: Green
Element: Earth
Altar: On a green cloth lay branches, flowers, stones, twigs, figures of animals and birds, a special pot of good soil, and a small globe.
Offerings: Clean up or protect a natural environment.
Daily Meal: Vegan.
(Each person present stands forth and takes this oath to the Earth:)
By seeds of all beginnings, I make this oath.
By roots of all depths, I swear to protect the purity of your soil.
By stem and trunk that reaches for the sky, I swear to respect your cycle of growth.
By bud that grows, I swear to respect all those who live in that cycle.
By leaf that catches the rain, I swear to protect the air we breathe.
By flower that opens to the dawn, I swear to always see your beauty.
By fruit that gives forth sweetness, I swear to remember where my nourishment comes from.
By seed within the fruit that grows the tree anew,
I swear to try again and again to fulfill this oath,
As many times as the Gods shall decree.
By life and death, by Lord and Lady, by hand and eye, by heart and spirit,
This I do swear here before the Fates
And mark my soul forever with this promise.
As all green things grow, so shall you live and survive,
And your memory be carried forever beneath the feet
Of a thousand generations to come.
Chant:
The Earth is our mother,
We must take care of her,
The Earth is our mother,
We must take care of her.
Hey and a ho and a ho la la
Hey and a ho and a ho la la
(After each person has taken the oath, all place their hands over the pot of soil and concentrate on charging it. Let it remain before the altar until Hesperis the following day, at which time it shall be planted with seeds of a rare and special healing herb, to be kept in the house and cared for and cherished.)

Pink and green, yellow and light blue
These are the colors of the Springtime hues
The light returns to a frozen Earth
The Lord and Lady court in lusty mirth
He brushes her face
She brushes his horns
Tis not a thing to shun or scorn
Look there is a songbird
And over there is a hare
Excitement in our souls so sacred and fare
The signs that are given of a promise fulfilled
The rebirth of all nature
Flowers in the fields
But this is a beginning
Your goals don’t forsake
We must continue to water, continue to rake
To nurture and care for the still fragile seeds
Till they grow strong in to our magickal deeds
To pull the weeds and nurture with care
And watch your goals manifest
As we Will, stay Silent, and Dare
So salute the Lord and the Lady
As they explore and make marry
For your life will be prosperous
With strength, hope, and caring
‘THINK on THESE THINGS’
‘THINK on THESE THINGS’
By Joyce Sequichie Hifler
Good ideas are the flower of the mind, waiting to bloom for the benefit of the thinker.
We are constantly in the process of manufacturing ideas. Every waking moment we are thinking continually, making mental images of that which we desire or need. Everything we see was first an idea in someone’s mind.
Ideas are fleeting messages that pass rapidly through the mind. Some of them are strong enough to impress the thinker. Many are not worth saving, but a few are very precious. They have to be sifted, sorted and analyzed for value. Then they must be acted on immediately, for they are very perishable. Once we lose an idea, it is seldom if ever recaptured.
Everyone has access to a better and happier life through ideas, if we can trust the Lord to give us the will and courage to follow through on them.

Good Blessed Wednesday to all my dear friends!

Good Morning/Afternoon, my dear friends! I figured I might start things off a tad bit different today. I don’t know if you have noticed or not but I am Irish. It seems like when my birth month rolls around, all the Irish in my veins starts to pour out. I am very proud of my heritage as we all should be. Last night, I was up at 3:00 a.m., cleaning the house with my Irish tunes a blasting, lol! Thank goodness, my husband is Irish too. He was in his computer room just humming along. I have a lot to be thankful for. But being human, I only stop and realize occasionally what I have to be thankful for. I know I should realize it every day but unfortunately I don’t. I am sure that I am not the only person in the world, that doesn’t stop every day and realize it also.
March is my birth month and as I start to grow another year older, I do take time to reflect on my past. Some of it is very painful and I wish with all my heart, I could change it but I can’t. I have lost several dearly loved ones as you know. But the one that pains me the most is my mother. She passed when I was eleven years old. She had cancer and had been in and out of the hospital for a year. The part that breaks my heart the most is the last day I saw her in the hospital bed. I think now, “Oh, dear Goddess, if I had only known that was going to be the last time I ever saw her.” If only I had known. I would have grabbed a hold of her and never let go. Just to hold her again. I remember walking up to the bed and kissing her on the cheek. She grabbed my hand so tight and said, “Baby, remember I will always love you!” I can still hear those words to this day. Then daddy woke me up during the night to tell me, my mother had passed. That is one of those memories you never, ever forget. Never, no matter how you try. Your heart is so heavy and sad. When a love one passes, they tell you time will heal all. I am here to tell you it don’t. Perhaps I am more sentimental now and I do try to take time and give thanks for what I have. I have learned you never take anyone you love for granted. You should stop and hug them to pieces, give them a great big kiss and tell them, “You love them,” everyday!
I found an Irish prayer I would like to share with you. I think it is a very fitting prayer for all of us who have had loves ones pass and have a heavy heart at times.
Blessings to you, my friends!
Prayer for Strength and Comfort
My Lord and Lady, if I may be walking through fields that are rough with grief and care, may I have the courage to continue on to the smooth pastures, where I may walk with comfort and peace. May I not let the weariness and sorrow that may come to my heart to-day dwarf my hope and enjoyment of the future.

Revive Your Magickal Powers
Revive Your Magickal Powers
On the night of the full moon, anoint a purple candle with vanilla oil. While anointing raise energy and focus it into the candle. See it glow with magick. Light the candle and go outside (if possible) or near a window where you can see the moon. Place the candle on the ground or windowsill. Reach your arms out to the moon and say:
“I ask for your power on this night,
By the powers of the stars above me.
So Shall It Be!”
Visualize your arms and hands soaking up the powers of the moon and into your body. Put out the candle and leave it on your altar overnight. The next morning, repeat the spell with this chant.
“Oh dear Lord of sky and sea,
Lead your magick into me,
By soil, wind, flame and sea,
This is my will.
So Mote It Be!”
Soak up the powers of the Sun. Go to your altar and light the purple candle from the night before and meditate on it until it burns out.
‘THINK on THESE THINGS’
‘THINK on THESE THINGS’
By Joyce Sequichie Hifler
To so many, getting up in the morning is the worst way to begin a day. To them every morning is the morning after, a time to feel nervous anxiety and regret in the deepest sense, while to others morning is a new world. Yesterday ceased to be with sleep last night.
How much better off we’d be if only for a few hours we could put out of our minds every painful thought and every unpleasant person until the mind and body could find enough new life to begin again.
“The early morning hath gold in its mouth,” wrote Franklin. But it has things more precious than gold. It has life as fresh and sweet as the shimmering, clinging dewdrops in the first rays of golden sunlight. It has the grace of mimosa leaves rippling in the gentlest breeze. It has the songs of the birds and the love of a new awakening.
And in this breathless creation is something more. A new opportunity, another chance, a challenge to walk on, more strong, more forgiving, more loving.
Sleep deep and rest sweet, but rise glad. Don’t let one joyful second be lost in dead oblivion. This is a vision of newness awaiting even the least to arise and accept the best – a new beginning.
Morning need not be a jury trial for oneself. Dawn and sleep can be a miraculous cleansing to set us out on our feet ready to begin again and in a friendlier atmosphere. We must feel friendly toward ourselves before we can possibly find morning good to anyone else.
An unknown writer once wrote, “Every morning lean thine arms awhile upon the window sill of heaven, and gaze upon thy Lord, then, with the vision in they heart, turn strong to meet thy day.”
We need to be strong to meet the day with self control, to find our reason and purpose, but, more important, to leave behind us the heavy and darkened thoughts that kept us from seeing the breathtaking beauty of the most important time – this morning.

Ritual the Wiccan Way
Ritual the Wiccan Way
Most, if not all religions have some form of ritual. Ritual helps to remove you from the mundane and more you closer to your deity. Under Wiccan ritual we create a sacred space in which to work. Within this space we feel comfortable, just as those going to Church feel a comfort within the walls of the Church.
When to Do and Not Do Ritual
Wiccan do ritual for the Eight Sabbats and all Esbats. There are certain times when you would want to avoid doing ritual. When you are sick, sharing is nice, but not that nice. When you are hungry. a growling stomach can really distract from ritual. When you are tired, proper ritual takes time and energy. When you are Angry, bad energies will be developed; definitely wrong.
Ritual can be done either as a solitary or a coven. The format can be changed to fit the situation.
Ritual
When doing ritual there is a loose structure to follow:
Cast the circle
Call the quarters
Call the Lord and Lady
State the purpose of the ritual.
Do your workings
Share wine and cakes
Enjoy the company of each other within the circle.
Release deity and the quarters
Take down the circle
REMEMBER
Once the circle is cast you can not leave. Take care of necessities before the circle is closed. Animals can, and will enter an leave the circle, this shows no disrespect nor will cause any harm.
If a Ritual is to start at 7:30 P.M.; be there at least ten minutes early. Once the circle is cast you will not be permitted to enter.
If you have been asked to bring the candle, wine cake, etc.; for the ritual – do not forget them. It can really rune a ritual.
You are working with a group, remember to show courtesy at all time.
If you have been invited to join a coven for ritual make sure you know what is required of you.
Your BOS
When the ritual is over you will want to record it in your BOS. There are exceptions to this rule. If you were a guest at a ritual check with the High Priest/ess to see if you can record their ritual. Many covens hold their ritual to be sacred and will not permit you to record them. What you can then do is record what the ritual was about and how you felt. As a solitary, record your ritual for future reference.
Remember to keep you BOS is a safe place when not in use. Like a diary, you have recorded many intimate items in it that your really do not want made public on CNN.
Big Wrap-up
Ritual is one way to commune with the Lord and Lady.
Prepare yourself before you do ritual
Record your rituals
Use a BOS to record your magickal doings and the results of them.
A BOS is “eyes only” material – don’t leave it where others can see it.

One week prior to ovulation, Mom-to-be should increase her consumption of citus/acidic foods (tomatoes, oranges, lemons, etc), nuts and leafy greens like kale or spinach. Avoid greasy or oily meats (sausages, pepperoni, pork). If you aren’t already, consider taking a folic acid supplement.
The day before your most fertile day, the actual day, and the day after place 3 new candles of equal size (1 blue, 1 pink, 1 white) near the bed. As you (Dad-to-be) light the blue candle, repeat the following:
“Divine Father, We call thee El, Priapus, Ing, Min and Cernunnos
You whose sheltering arms shield and comfort your young
Whose power is seen in the mighty river, the nourishing Sun
Bless this union of man and mate
As you (Mom-to-be) light the pink candle, repeat the following:
“Divine Mother, We call thee Inanna, Asherah, Freya, Vesta and Hathor
You who bears, nurtures and defends your young against all dangers
Whose power is seen in the fertile fields, the moonlit breezes
Bless this union of woman and mate
Together, you both should light the third candle and both repeat the following.
“Lord and Lady. Mother and Father. Life Divine.
As two are made one, we seek your sacred blessing
Gift us with a healthy child
One who embodies the best of us both.
Imagine a warm light filling the room as you make love. Let the candles burn until they go out on their own. Repeat with new candles for each of the remaining nights.

Vision Questing
Vision Questing
A vision quest is no easy task to accomplish, but it will open your eyes to many things in this world that you had not noticed before. A vision quest pushes the body, mind, and soul to the extreme, where they all meet and come together. It is essential for all parts of ourselves to be in harmony with each other and with nature.
It is not necessary to do a full eight-day vision quest to discover your elemental affinity, but if you wish to you certainly can do so. The following vision quest is recommended, it is simpler and more harmonious to our roles in daily life. At this point, you should have some idea of which element you prefer.
1. Fast on juice and water for one day while you meditate and focus on your person elemental characteristics.
2. Early the next morning, set out for a long walk. Plan to spend the whole day communing with nature. Take only water with you. If you can arrange to camp out for the night, so much the better. If not, spend at least an hour focusing on the Earth itself. Notice the differences in grass blades, dirt types, and tree barks.
3. Open up a dialog in your head with one of the elements, asking it all you wish to know. Do the same with the other three elements in turn.
4. Do not allow yourself to sleep that night, if possible. Spend it communing with the elements instead.
5. Keep an eye out for a sign, be it a hawk flying that catches your attention or a special star twinkling. Your personal element will reveal itself in a unique way.
6. When you return home, honor yourself and the element that came to you with a ritual. You do not have to dedicate yourself to a particular element in order to learn more about it. Simply ask that element to show you more, and remember to say thank you. Courtesy and respect go along way.
7. Bless yourself with a simple statement of intent. Say something like, “I am blessed with the eyes of my Lord and Lady.” Throughout this entire process, do not be afraid to cry and laugh. A successful vision quest is a highly charged emotional task and quite an accomplishment.
If it is possible for you to do a full eight-day vision quest, the process is more elaborate as follows:
1. There is a three-day preparation period, during which you spend all of your time searching for your personal element by discussing your personality and viewpoints with the universe or whomever happens to be around. Every topic that pops into your mind is appropriate, so be sure to keep accurate notes. You swim to soak up air energy, lie on the ground to soak up earth energy, and allow the sun to shine on you to soak up fire energy. This time is meant to prepare you for your task.
2. For the next three days, go out into nature alone, with no food, only water. Fast, meditate, commune with the elements, and do a great amount of personal reflection. Stay out in the wild until you see your sign, your vision of your personal element. On the fourth morning you may return home. During this time period, you are allowed nothing that does not come from nature itself and no food. Physical activity is encouraged. If you see your sign before the fourth day, it is a personal choice whether to stay on the journey or to return home. Let your instinct guide your choice.
3. When you return home, hold a ceremony of rebirth, for you have been reborn into your element. Traditional Native American rites call for a sweat lodge cleansing , but this can also be done with smudging. To smudge yourself, light a smudging stick or burn sage on a charcoal tablet. Pass your arms through the smoke, then your legs, and so on, until you have exposed your whole body to the cleansing effect of the sage smoke. After the cleansing, it’s time to write your story.
4. Perform a rite of honor, such as a ritual bath with all the trappings.
If you have performed all of these steps and are still not sure which element is best to work with, study the four Elemental Witch path and continue your meditations. Your element will eventually reveal itself; it just may choose to wait a bit until the time is right.
A Seed Blessing (Earth Magick)
A Seed Blessing
When you must start a plant from seeds, it is proper to bless the seeds beforehand. Place them on your altar and light a white candle. Add a clear quartz crystal to the altar for extra energy. Say something like, “Lord and Lady, I ask that you bless these seeds and impart your energies into them so that a large, beautiful, strong plant may grown in your honor. So mote it be!” As you can see, the blessing need not be stiff or formal. A simple stated request works best.
Another way to bless the seeds is to call upon the universal energies of the elements. A simply stated request is usually enough.
