Hey Ya’ll, It’s A Happy, Happy Day! Why? It’s FRIDAY!!! TGIF!!!

Good Morning Images, Quotes, Comments, Graphics
Good Friday morning, my friends! How is everyone doing this morning? I hope super. It is a get-away day and plus it also Father’s Day Weekend! Have you got all the special men in your life their presents yet? My husband told me something a long time ago that I now use on him, lol!

When Mother’s Day rolled around one year, I asked him why he hadn’t bought me a Mother’s Day present. He turned around and told me, I wasn’t his mother that’s why he hadn’t bought me a present. I have a memory worse than an elephant. Every year, I turn the tables on him and tell him, “he’s not my daddy, hmm!” He ought to have remembered the old saying what goes around comes around, lol!

Well let’s see what we can get into real quick…..

Ah, an Irish Blessing For You, My Friends!

When the first light of sun-

Bless you.

When the long day is done-

Bless you.

In your smiles and tears-

Bless you.

Through each day of your years-

Bless you.

Have a super day, dearies!

To All Our Veterans, Thank You for Your Service To Our Great Country!

FOR OUR TROOPS

(both past and present, but particularly in Iraq and Afghanistan at present)

Though I don’t know your name
And I have never seen your face
I shed tears for you.

Though my memories don’t contain a time
We shared together
I miss you.

Though we are not related
You are in my thoughts.

When I’m eating, or taking a shower, or doing housework,
I think of you, knowing how much you wish you could be at home,
Your stomach full, doing mundane chores such as cleaning your house,
Clean from a fresh shower.

Though you are at terrible risk, and perhaps may not survive,
You are NEVER ALONE, and will always be alive
If only in our spirits, hopes and memories, our dreams for your future.

There are MILLIONS of people praying for you tonight
And throughout the day.

Praying for your safely and return as a whole person
In mind, body and spirit.

We are crying because we know. We know you are scared, and lonely.
And that you’d give anything to see your family, to hug you mother, father.
Your child, sister, brother, aunt, uncle.

To be showered with love and comfort,
Instead of sand and shrapnel.

We long for you too, with an ache so desperate as to make us insane.
To touch your face, see your smile; share your laughter and your tears.

We love you so much soldiers, you cannot know. You cannot fathom the swelling of pride in our chest as we think of you.
Of your courage and your sacrifice, the hope that you can come home soon.

And those that have returned, we have not forgotten you; you are in our prayers,
That you may recover from your experience and be healed.

No matter what anyone says, not matter the reason you are there,
You are a UNITED STATES SOLDIER, and you make us PROUD!!
Every day for that beautiful flag, for our great fortune to be Americans.

There are no politics, no scandals, no mistakes, NOTHING, which can diminish the sentiment we have for you.
And even as democracy permits free speech, as it should, which some may use to make judgments or cast aspersions,
Remember always, we know you’d rather be on the couch debating it with us than spending your days trying just to stay alive.

Let no “freedom of speech’ EVER make you doubt the American people’s faith in and love for you.
We are PROUD!

I’ve never met you, but I want you to know that I love you.
I’m praying for you.
I honor you.
I’m waiting for your return.

On this Memorial Day, 2012, and every day,
Please know that you are being though of.
WE MISS YOU.
GOD BLESS YOU and keep you until the day we can celebrate face to face.

What A Wonderful & Blessed Day, Happy Thursday, dear friends!

Good Morning Images, Quotes, Comments, Graphics
Good morning to you! How is everyone doing this morning? I got up at 5:00 a.m., said the heck with this and went back to bed, lol! Of course, to actually get in the bed, I had to move critters. I am going to take a picture of all them asleep in the bed and post it. You will laugh your rump off. Kiki (little Pom) sleeps at the head between the pillows. Then I have Stinky (cat) and Razzy (bobcat) stretched out all over the bed. Stinker might just be a cat but he is huge too. Between the two of them, the floor looks pretty good at nights, lol!

Anyway how do you like this morning’s graphic? I had someone the other day leave me a comment. The comment stated I was the most negative person they had ever seen in their life. Threw me for a loop anyway! I didn’t think I was negative at all. I try to bring a very positive vibe everyday to the blog. They were referring to my post about “Spellcrafting, spellcasting and the Spellcaster.” I went back and re-read it and I couldn’t find anything negative about it. I still am baffled about that one.

Well I haven’t had much time to talk to you recently. So I figured what the heck I would stop and smell the roses for a minute or two. Around here all you smell is stinkweeds (ah, I see the negativity coming through now, lol!). I just have a very dry sense of humor, or so I have been told. Or perhaps they mean, I have a very strange way of looking at the world. But don’t we all? That’s what makes us individuals. I would hate to think we all thinked alike, looked alike and acted alike. What a boring world that would be!

Well speaking of boring, the only excitement I have had around here was Mother’s Day.  I figured Mother’s Day would be very quiet and peaceful. The day before, my daughter and husband caught me at the Dollar Store. They bestowed my Mother’s Day gifts there in the parking lot. She told me that she wouldn’t be out because she was staying home. They had been to Nashville the day before and her house was a mess. So she was going to clean house. So I figured since I had seen her the day before, Mother’s Day would be quiet. I didn’t think my son would make an appearance. Heck, I am just his mother why should he??? We have quiet a few new readers and I should explain this real quick. You see my son married into a very religious family and the religion isn’t mine. And he opened his big mouth and politely told them I was a witch. Well you can imagine how that went over, like a lead balloon! They don’t want him to have anything to do with me, his own mother. Up until recently he hasn’t but things have now changed in his marriage. He is starting to become close with me again. So back to the story, he up and calls on Mother’s Day. He wants to know if it would be alright for him and his dog to come out. I asked him how his dog got along with cats. He responded, “Oh, just fine!” Lying little, I let that one go! He comes out and brings the dog in the house. The first thing, Kiki tries to jump it. I caught her in mid-air. I had to hold her the whole time he was here. Everytime the dog got close to me, she would try to tear it up. I could tell this was going to be a long five hours, oh brother! We went in the living room and sit down. I looked around for the cats and didn’t see them. I thought they smelled a strange dog, they would stay hidden. Yeah, right! After about two hours of bonding with my son, here comes Razzy sneaking down the hall. Before I could even get up, she had rounded the corner and was heading for the washroom. Well my son’s dog broke loose from him and went right straight for Razzy. He pinned her up against the screen door. All you could see was fur flying and a very loud and angry bobcat shrieking. You would have to hear one to know what I am talking about. But they were both going at it in the corner of the door. Finally the dog backed off and Razzy flew to the washroom. My son’s dog had his face mauled. It was horrible. I got the paper towels and started to look at the dog. He needed stitches unfortunately. I offered to sew the dog up (since I doctor all the wild animals that come from the vets’ to me), I thought I would offer. “Heck, no!” He was taking his dog to his vet. So he left and I tracked down Razzy. She had jumped behind the dryer and couldn’t get out, not to mention she was wild. She was snarling and growling, so I knew she had to be hurt. I pulled the dryer out and as I put my leg down she smacked at my leg. I asked her who the heck did she think she was smacking at. Then she sort of calmed down. I slowly picked her up and she would occasionally growl. I would stop and talk to her and she would quit. Well I got her out and looked at her. Her shoulder was dislocated and she had been bit through her paw. I put her shoulder back in place and started making poultices to put on her paw. By this time she had jumped off the table and had run to one of the bedrooms. I was in hot pursue. I tracked her down and pulled the bed out. She did the same thing again, growling and snarling. I talked to her again and she calmed down. I picked her up and we started back to the kitchen were I could doctor her paw. Going through the living room, it was all I could do to hold her. Her back paws got loose and she cut the living crap out of my face. But I was still nice and loving. I got her to the table and I had already had a sedative out for her. I got her all doctored up and she went to sleep. While she was sleeping, I got to thinking how quickly she converted back to being wild. That scared the crap out of me. She has always had a wild side to her that I haven’t been able to reach. So I started to cry thinking she could never stay in the house. Then I remember the wonderful Goddess Bast. I prayed and prayed to Her. I asked Her to bring my Razzy back to me. After all night of praying and crying, Razzy woke up. She was not the same cat at all. She was the tamest I had ever seen her. Even now, she is still a totally new cat. Oh, how I thanked and thanked the Goddess for bringing her back to me. I gave the Goddess Bast an offering of gratitude. I even found a small figure of a cat and dedicated it to Bast and put it on my altar. I was never so happy in my life. What a miracle worker the Goddess was. She had brought Razzy back to me but even better than ever. I had told Bast about the wild streak Razzy had and how I couldn’t reach through it. But the Goddess did and Razzy has such a beautiful personality now. Oh, I still can’t get over it. I am so grateful.

I am still amazed at how something so bad could turnout to be something so good. Since that experience, I feel very humble. We all know the Goddesses exist but to actually see their work right before your very eyes. It is something else. I believe the experience left me feeling very loved because you know the Goddesses are listening and ready to help at a moment’s notice. It reassures your beliefs and also let’s you know that you matter to Them. You are truly one of Their children. It is just a wonderful feeling, I know that much. It also reassured me that my life might seem like a mess right now. But everything is going to work out. With the Goddesses on your side, how couldn’t it?

A Very Happy & Blessed Mother’s Day To All My Dear Friends!

Happy Mother’s Day to everyone! I hope you have a very beautiful day today. Enjoy your family today and don’t take a moment you have with them for granted.

On another note, I must apologize for yesterday. WordPress was doing some work on the blog. They have a section were they feature blogs that are using certain templates. They were transferring this one over to that section. They wanted to feature it because I am currently using this template. Doing this caused some screw-ups that I wasn’t expecting. I got upset when I couldn’t correct the front page and everything I did just made it worse. So I quit posting before I screwed everything up. I am sorry and I will make it up to you today, I promise.

Now back to today…….

Happy Mother’s Day to all my beloved friends!

Enjoy your family and your day!

Greetings, dear friends! Happy Monday To You All, My Luvs!

Today’s Affirmation for Monday, April 9th

I turn my attention inward to sense the tug of hidden desires. Clear in my self-awareness, I am now free to make my choice.

Today’s Thought for Monday, April 9th

The significance of a man is not in what he attains but rather in what he longs to attain.

Today’s Visualization for Monday, April 9th

Seas of Hidden Motivation

There are times when we feel driven by forces that we don’t understand. This visualization helps bring awareness to these unconscious motivations. Imagine that you are a deep-sea diver, plunging into the depths of the sea. Out of the gloom looms the dark form of a ship-wreck. You swim into the wreck through a porthole. In one corner you see the glint of a brass key in the lock of a wooden chest. You turn the key to open the chest. What lies inside? What does this tell you about the impulses that drive you?

Good Morning, my dear friends! TGIF! The Weekend Is Almost Here!

Fantasy Images, Pics, Comments, Graphics
Good Morning, my dear, dear friends! Have I told you lately that I love you all. Yes, love, love, love! You are absolutely fabulous. Yesterday, I made the post about the blog seemingly a little quiet. Then I put up the post about showing me some love by telling me what you liked. YOU WENT WILD!!!! It was terrific. I don’t know how many of you hit that “Like” button, after a while I lost count. But it make me feel so loved and appreciated. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You don’t know what it means to me. I can never thank you enough. I have the best blog friends on the net!!!

Now I want to ask you a question, do you celebrate Easter with any of your family or friends? When my kids were little, we lead a double life. We wanted our children to experience all the opportunities they could. So we kept our Religion quiet. There was occasions that I did break the promise my husband and I made to each other. I would introduce small bits of magick into my childrens’ lives. Then when we would go on outings, they were totally amazed at me and my love for nature. I could tell my son was very receptive to everything I had to say and show them. My daughter, on the other hand, really wasn’t. I guess the main reason, I made the promise with my husband was because the way I was raised.  We would go to church on Sundays and then that night we would be at the cauldron doing Hillbilly magick. You talking about confusing a kid but it did and I was. You might wonder why my parents opted to live like that. It was because we live right smack dab in the Bible Belt. And Witchcraft wasn’t accepted as it is now. People still give me strange looks but they never say anything. They are openly polite and I am invited over to their houses to remove snakes from their garages. You can imagine what I tell them to do with their snakes, lol!

I am totally off the subject here, let’s see if we can get back on it now. I am just finding it harder and harder to do for the Holidays that I don’t celebrate. I don’t celebrate Christmas and I don’t celebrate Easter. After my children became old enough and I thought I wouldn’t confuse them. I told them what I was and how I believed. The first thing my daughter told me was I was going to hell! My son said, “Cool!” So I told them, they knew. When the holidays rolled around, I explained to them about Yule and told them, I celebrated IT. Then Easter rolled around, I told them about Ostara and I celebrated IT. My husband and I agreed (very much to my disliking, but to keep the peace) since they were raised Catholic, we would celebrate all the holidays. We still do celebrate all the holidays, even though the kids are married and gone now. They come over for Christmas not Yule. Mom and Dad get to celebrate that by themselves. They come over for Easter not Ostara, again we celebrate it by ourselves. I can guarantee you, this Easter they will all come over and expect a big feast and Easter baskets. But this year, I believe they are going to get surprised. I just ain’t in the mood for it. My son has two children of his own and I love them dearly. He married into a strict Bible-belt family. They made him mad about something before they ever got married and he told them, they better be nice because his mother is a witch! Can you imagine that? The dumbass! Yes, he is my son but he is still a dumbass. I taught him everything about witchcraft and I had hopes and still do that he may one day become a witch. He knew darn good and well, you never reveal a witch to anyone!  So after he married into their family, they don’t like for him or the grandkids to come around me. Needless to say, the grandkids’ birthday parties are a hoot! But back to the topic at hand, my son has turned into someone I don’t know anymore. We use to be so close and now it is like he doesn’t even want to be around me. My husband told me to go on and forget it. But it hurts and it hurts bad to think how close we use to be and now he is like this. Perhaps it is because of the hurt and pain, I feel the way I do. I don’t know. But I do know I ain’t in the mood for Easter this year. If I had my way about it, I would dig a hole and crawl in it and wait for their holidays to pass.

Am I the only witch that feels like this? Am I normal? Do you have similar problems within your family? Then I stop to think it is my fault because they way I raised them. I should have raised them in the Craft. When they got grown and out in the world, it would still have been the same. They would have met people who weren’t witches, fell in love and married them. I always raised my children to be strong, think for themselves and be able to stand on their own two feet. Never ask anyone for anything, be independent. My daughter is and I am very proud of her. She is now accepting of me. She knows witch or not, I am her mother and I love her more than life itself. When I talk to my son in private, I cry a lot. I know he is still my little boy inside. I know he misses me and he loves me very much. I know he is a grown man and he wants the world to see him as that. I guess in my mind, he is my baby and he shouldn’t be grown. It’s my fault, I raised him so strong-willed and independent. I guess I have a lot of pent-up feelings and perhaps that is why I don’t want to celebrate their holidays. Or perhaps I am strong-willed myself and ready to fight the world for my beliefs. I am worse than an old elephant, I never forget. I remember too much. I remember things said about my Religion. I am just tired of it. I am really tired of it from my in-laws. I told my husband I am fed up. I am a Witch and they are just going to have to deal with it. If they have brainwashed my son, then he is just going to have to deal with it. I am a Witch, I am going to practice my beliefs and I will not be forced to celebrate something I don’t.

Hmm, you know blogging is great therapy. I feel so much better now and my head is so much clearer. You all are great therapists. Now just don’t send me a bill, lol! Love ya! Thanks for listening!

Ah, What A Special Little Lad Decked Out In His Irish Finery!

Cyrus, the Cat of the Day
Name: Cyrus
Age: Two years old
Gender: Male
Kind: Domestic Medium, Long Hair
Home: Mexico
Cyrus came as a stray… and from day one it was like if he’d lived here all along. He got along totally awesomely with adults, kids and even dogs… small ones anyway, and was a total dream cat.

He appeared one day out of nowhere, and I felt sad and fed him once, well… I guess he liked it and stayed. He was an outside cat, by his own insistence, and often times I had to go look for him, only to find him in the next block in the house in the exact location as ours… I guess he “almost” got it right, just missed by a block!

Such a sweet kitty… as you can see by the picture, he didn’t even mind the hat one bit! He seems happy at his new home, so I did not try to convince him to come back to mine. I have two Huskies who are not exactly ‘cat-friendly’ but at his new home he is fed and loved. As he picked my house in the first place when he was a stray, I couldn’t feel too possessive when he decided to move in on the next block. He is such a friendly cat that he charmed them at once, and is well loved there. And as you can see, he is a very cute Leprecat, a good tempered kitty, and wishes everyone a Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!

Seven Things Not To Do on Valentine’s Day

Seven Things Not To Do on Valentine’s Day

  • Mel, selected from DivineCaroline

By Lyndsay Rush, DivineCaroline

Ahhh, Feburary 14. The day of love. The day that Cupid works for all year. The day Hallmark cashes in on our emotions.

For some people, February 14 is just another day. And this year, just another Sunday. Whether you’re indifferent, upset, or excited, there are some things you just shouldn’t do on this lovers’ holiday:

1. Go on a first date.
I would like to shake my fist at whoever suggests this as a way to spend Valentine’s Day. First dates are hard enough as it is without the added pressure of taking place on a holiday like this. Chances are you’ll either spend the evening with false expectations, hoping he’s “The One,” or you’ll spend the night miserable and wishing you were home in your pajamas. Valentine’s Day is NOT the day to take a dating risk. Reschedule for the next day and question his sanity if going out on Valentine’s Day was his idea.

2. Complain.
There is nothing worse than hearing someone spend all day complaining about their lack of prospects, heartache, or ticking biological clock. Save yourself some dignity, throw out a few snarky jokes about being single if you must, and then save it for your journal. Negativity begets negativity and you will feel the effects of being a downer all day. And so will everyone around you.

3. Call your ex.
ABORT! I repeat, ABORT! If you are considering this as you look tearfully out your bedroom window with The Holiday soundtrack playing in the background, ABORT! On a day like this it’s natural to have your thoughts drift to the last person you were with, but you broke up for a reason and even Cupid can’t create a day big enough to change that. Avoid the Valentine’s Day emotional hangover and don’t attempt a reconnect.

4. Reenact MTV Spring Break.
The last thing you need to do is drink your way out of this holiday. While it is perfectly acceptable (and fun!) to dress up and go out with your girlfriends on V-Day, don’t channel your inner “Senior year spring break.” Remember, this is just another day on the calendar and you taking four tequila shots is not going to fix anything about your love life.

5. Take yourself for granted.
This is a big one. Do whatever it takes to get perspective on life amidst the flower, candy, and romance-induced mayhem. Your worth and value as a human being and sister, daughter, friend is in no way influenced by your relationship status. Keep your chin up and focus on what you have accomplished this year or what you hope to accomplish in the future. You are loved and valued for more than your ability to snag a significant other.

6. Be alone.
The chances of the above “not to-dos” occurring is exponentially higher if you’re alone on Valentine’s Day. Gather with friends over dinner. Get some pals and go see a flick. Open a bottle of champagne with your best friend. Do whatever it takes to surround yourself with love. This is one of the best ways to ensure you spend the night having fun and focusing on the wonderful, non-romantic loves in your life.

7. Overlook the good in your life.
This one goes along with the “taking yourself for granted” no-no. Although it’s easy to be swept up by romantic comedies, candlelight dinners, past lovers, roses, chocolates, teddy bears, and diamonds, there is much in life that is equally–if not more–important. Try making a list of blessings in your life. From “roof over my head” to “amazing nail polish collection,” pen all of the things in your life that make it excellent. We need reminders of this every day and not just Valentine’s Day.

At the end of the day, what really matters is a healthy perspective on February 14 and all that comes along with it. In no way do I mean to imply that this should be a day of doom and gloom to those of us who are not currently in a relationship, but I offer this list as an opportunity to maintain perspective amidst a wildly commercial day focused on romantic love. Cheers to a day full of love–in whatever way it reveals itself to you!

Sending Tons Of Love To All My Dear Friends! Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day, my dear friends!

I have a lot to chat about but I am running late. So I will save our little talk for another day. I know that is a huge relief for you, lol! I hope you have a great Valentine’s Day and spend it with the one you love.

Luv & Hugs,

Blessed Monday, my dear friends!

Monday Pictures, Images, Comments, Graphics
Good Monday to you all! I hope you are having a great day. My granddaughter is having a birthday party this afternoon. I have been up since 3 a.m. I am sure I will be given out by the time the party starts. I have already did a full day’s work. Of course, there is no rest for the wicked, lol! Anyway, please forgive me if I fly through the postings today.

I hope you all having a fantastic day. And remember only 4 more days to the weekend, lol!

The Preliminaries to Cast a Spell or Setting up a Ritual

The Preliminaries to Cast a Spell or Setting up a Ritual

As when organizing a party, it is important to spend a little time planning your spell casting. Think about the precise purpose of the spell, the best time, most appropriate setting and for whom the spell is being cast. For a ritual you need to consider the underlying as well as the obvious focus of the ritual Do you need to change the emphasis of a tried and tested format? Even a seasonal rite will have a theme, for example the May eve/Day celebrations have traditionally been associated with fertility. This fertility applies in whatever way it is needed, whether personally, ecologically or globally. Therefore you and the guests or participant should decide in advance precisely what you are working towards and carry out rituals to take advantage of the prevailing energies.

Location is important even for a quickie spell. You wouldn’t set a child’s birthday party in the same place you would your great-aunt’s golden wedding. With open air spells or rituals you need a wet weather or sheltered location plan just in case a force 8 gale blows up. Some spells can be planned in advance for a day out or weekend away, but others will be spontaneous, when you happen to come across a perfect location while on your way to somewhere else. There are also urgent occasions when you will have to imagine that crashing sea while stood by the local canal at lunchtime. The timing of a spell is also vital.

Before you cast the spell you also need to decide how long you want the effects of the spell to last and how quickly you need results. Do you want an immediate infusion of power within the 24 hours following the spell? Will the effects take longer–before the next full moon, within three months? You should build this time frame into the spell and declare it in the purpose of the spell.

Should it be a single spell or one carried out, for example, every Friday for a month or on the three days before the fulll moon in order to build up the powers?

Then you need to decide on the symbol or symbols that will act as the focus for the spell energies (you can’t dance and chant round a would-be lover in the office).
Do you need to emphasize any one element in the spell? Is the spell mainly fire based for power or is there a fairly evenly spread elemental mix, for example to resolve a long-term justice or court matter.

You need to think about any special props, magickal tools or substances that are required. After all, you wouldn’t use the same chine or serve the same food at your teenager’s post-exam party as you would if the boss was coming to dinner. Do you want a full altar or will it be mainly a word- or personal-movement-based spell? If on a beach or in the woods, can you use what you find there as tools and symbols?

Finally, who are you inviting to your spell or rite? The friend who has lost the animal you are casting the spell for? Your sister to help you with a love spell? Are you organizing a welcome-into-the-world party for your family, to celebrate the birth of a baby to a family member who lives in another country? Are you entrusted with the organization of your magick group or coven’s autumn thanksgiving?

If you work alone, as many witches including myself do most of the time, you’re still not a magickal Billy or Betty No Mates. You won’t be short of spiritual company. You can welcome the guardians of the four quarters even in a relatively simple spell; invite the wise ancestors to celebrations such as Samhain or Hallowe’en or New Year.
As for the nature essences, whenever you work outdoors or even indoors in a circle of pot plants (my favorite setting on a really foul day) they will be curious. So invite them in and benefit from their energies.

Spell Of The Day – First Day of Carnival

Spell Of The Day – First Day of Carnival
January 7th, 2003

Yesterday was the Feast of Epiphany, and by the old system of reckoning today is the second day of Carnival. The final day will fall on the eighth Tuesday from today, which is called Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday). As tarot scholar Gertrude Oakley has pointed out, the festivities associated with Carnival are very likely a source for imagery in the tarot. Today is an excellent day for a tarot reading, especially one that prepares us for the events of the upcoming year.

Dec 26 Boxing Day

I like to believe it’s called Boxing Day because it’s the day you put your least favorite present in a box and give it away. I’ve also heard that this is the day to box up leftovers from your Christmas dinner and give them to the poor.

In 19th century England, this was the day employers gave gifts to their servants. Tradesmen, servants and children went “boxing,” going from house to house, soliciting Christmas tips from householders, which they deposited in slitted earthernware Christmas boxes. This poem, quoted by Kightly, seems to reflect this custom:

When Boxing Day comes round again
O then I shall have money
I’ll hoard it up and Box and all
I’ll give it to my honey.
