Grandma Got Run Over By A Broomstick

Grandma Got Run Over By A Broomstick

Author Unknown

Grandma got ran over by a broomstick
Walking home from our house Yule Eve.
Now you can say there’s no such thing as witch’s.
But as for me and grandpa, we believe.

She’d consumed too many spirits.
And we begged her not to go.
But she’d forgot her Belladonna,
So she sacheted out the door, we didn’t know.

When they found her the next morning
At the scene of the attack.
She had bristles on her forehead,
And incriminating brush marks on her back.

Grandma got ran over by a broomstick.
Walking home from our house Yule Eve..
You can say there’s no such thing as witch’s,
But as for me and grandpa, we believe.

Now we’re all so proud of grandpa.
He’s been taking it so well.
See him in there watching wrestling,
Drinking wine and dancing skyclad with cousin Nell.

It’s not Yule without grandma.
She’s the one with the big hat.
And we just can’t help but wonder,
Should we divvy up her Gifts, or simply send them back.

Grandma got ran over by a broomstick,
Walking home from our house Yule Eve..
You can say there’s no such thing as witch’s.
But as for me and grandpa, we believe.

Now the punch is on the table,
And the pumpkin, it’s so big.
And the black and silver candles
That would just have matched the hair in grandma’s wig.

I’ve warned all my friends and neighbors,
Better watch out for yourselves.
They should never give a license,
To a gal who flies a broomstick deosil.

Grandma got ran over by a broomstick,
Walking home from our house Yule Eve..
You can say there’s no such thing as witch’s,
But as for me and grandpa, we believe.

August 23 – Daily Feast

August 23 – Daily Feast

Painting a picture is much the same as living a life. Some of us only get the outline sketched while others find the time and desire to mix beautiful colors and brush them on canvas. Color is used sparingly on some canvases, others are somber and dark with little or no highlights. But those whose cheerful colors, cardinal reds, sunflower yellows, and all shades of purple and lilac, show us that life does not have to be ordinary. The Master Artist, U ne la nv hi, gave us all pallets and pots of bright colors to use boldly, or to mix in subtle but lively shades. We have been given the general sketch but it is left to us to fill in the colors, harmonizing and blending until we get the right tones. Each of us is a painter and each has the charge to make life a work of art.

~ They searched for a long period of time for the source of life, and at last came to see the thought that it issues from an invisible creative power to which they applied the name Wa-ko-da. ~

Daily Motivator for Sept. 12 – Feel good

Feel good

You can feel whatever way you choose to feel, so choose to feel good. Feel  good about yourself, your world, your possibilities and your life.

You don’t have to ignore or deny the difficult realities in order to feel  good. You can be fully aware and involved with life’s realities and still choose  to feel good.

You can endure pain and disappointment and still choose to feel good. For  there is a beautiful part of you that can always rise above the most painful and  burdensome difficulties.

Choose to feel good, and you put yourself in a position of power and  effectiveness. Feel good, and feel the genuine strength of your true purpose.

Feel good, and open yourself to the best possibilities. Feel good, and  generate new positive energy for moving forward.

Whatever the situation, feel good about yourself and about what you can do.  Feel good about life, and let those feelings create a positive reality.

‘THINK on THESE THINGS’ for June 7th

By Joyce Sequichie Hifler

We are all aware of the emotional effect color creates. And for this reason we choose colors that please the eye by first pleasing the inner emotions. Certain colors have the same effect on many, while other colors affect each of us individually and in particular ways.

Red has an exciting effect; green is cool serenity, orange is the color of vivacity, and brown tones are restful earthy colors. People dress to enhance their appearances with certain colors. Homes are decorated and offices are planned to create pleasance surroundings.

And we as individuals possess moods of many colors. Yet, we are far more careless about the color of that mood, letting the attitudes and colors of others dictate to us how we are to behave. If we could remember when we meet people whose moods are black to remind ourselves that their moods are their own, there would be less involvement in the emotions of others.

We are so vividly aware of color, we must not be reckless in recognizing the color scheme within our own personality. Whether it is a vibrant color, sophisticated, or bright and witty, color always works its subtle magic.

While I am waiting for the graphics to load…..

I know you have heard me mention that in my spare time, I surf the net for graphics. Well, I did a search on Yahoo for Yule graphics. Up popped the search and I got to looking at the graphics. I ran across this one set of graphics that looked really, really familiar. But of course, it hasn’t hit dummy where she has seen these graphics before. So I click on the graphics because “I really liked them,” lol! When I got to the page where the graphic was displayed, the site/blog is showed but it is shadowed. I just glanced down at the title and would you believe it still didn’t dawn on me. How dumb is that? So I enlarged the graphic and then popped back to the smaller one. When I popped back to the smaller one, I liked to have fallen out in the floor. Because I couldn’t believe it and I was such a dumb butt, lol! My curiosity got the best of me, so I hit the search the web button for graphics. Lo and behold! I didn’t have no problem seeing what blog was ranked second, IT WAS US!!!!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! It is all of you that got this blog ranked second. It is all the WOTC’s wonderful friends and followers! I want to take this opportunity to thank you for making this such a fantastic and unbelievable year for us. I have said it a million times and it is so true, “We would be nothing without you, our dear friends.”

Now a word about today’s postings……..When I was doing my research, I ran across several countries’ different traditions of celebrating the Winter Solstice. During the post today, I was going to post the countries and their traditions. So of them are out there, but I think you will enjoy it.

Blessed Winter Solstice!

The WOTC’s New Banner

The WOTC hasn’t had a banner since the old group on MSN. I got to surfing the net last night and started noticing, everyone and their brother has a banner. So about three o’clock this morning, I came up with this new banner for the blog. I hope you like it. If you want, feel free to take it and spread it across the net, lol! Seriously though, I would appreciate you posting it anywhere you can or would like. Spreading the banner, it just another way we can get our message out. We would appreciate your help. The banner is hotlinked for you.

Thank you in advance!

Halloween Spell

For many witches throughout the world, Halloween is an ideal time to magically do away with weaknesses. The Celts of old, for instance, on Samhain slaughtered all livestock that were too weak to live through the coming winter. Using a quill pen and dragon’s blood ink, write upon a piece of parchment the weaknesses you wish to be rid of. As you concentrate on your intent, crumple up the paper in your “power hand” and toss it into a fire or set it ablaze by holding it above the flame of a black candle. Place it into a fireproof container such as a cast iron cauldron, and as the parchment burns away into ashes, so too shall your weaknesses be consumed by the flames of magic.

Prose Of The Season

Prose Of The Season

Druids would not know this night
And Witches would in wonder gaze
To see the festive costumed souls
That dash about the night in play
Where ancient magick ruled the land
Children’s laughter fills the soul
Yet in this way the night is honored
Much like the ancients long ago.

by David O. Norris, copyright 1999

Velinda held the flickering light
And cast grim shadows on the wall
While whispering stories in my ear
On Halloween so long ago.

The ghosts she conjured howled then
To match the winds that moaned outside,
Her Witches crossed the golden moon
On brooms above the clouds they’d ride.

That night I’d try my best to sleep
With thoughts of graveyards in my mind
I’d pull the covers o’er my head
To leave those visions far behind.

Now she’s living in New Hampshire,
Over forty years have passed us by
Still, on Halloween, I hear her whisper
And once again the Witches fly!

by David O. Norris, “Halloween 1953” copyright 1998

Witches’ hats and harvest moon
Ghosts that dance to haunted tune.
Apples, goodies, food galore.
Halloween has this and more.

Fairies, gnomes, and funny clowns
Mom and I go ’round the town.
Cats and pumpkins, friends to meet
Everyone says “trick or treat!”

Just a little witch
on high
She’ll tell you that
your love is nigh
Your fortune on Halloween
when told
My secret will the witch unfold.

~from an Early Nineteenth-Century Halloween postcard

From Halloween by Silver Ravenwolf

It’s Halloween!

It’s Halloween!

Tonight is the night when dead leaves fly
like witches on switches across the sky.
When elf and sprite flit through the night
on a moony sheen.

Tonight is the night when leaves make a sound
like a gnome in his home under the ground.
When spooks and trolls creep out of the holes,
all mossy and green.

Tonight is the night when pumpkins stare
through sheaves and leaves everywhere.
When ghoul and ghost and goblin host dance round their Queen.
IT’S HALLOWEEN!!!
