Your Charm for the Jan. 14 is The Cross

 Your Charm for the Day

The Cross

Today’s Meaning:

This is probably the most popular of charms. You will be protected in this aspect. No one will be able to harm you or your state of being.

General Description:

The Cross has always been a favorite device. It was used by the sun-worshippers as a symbol of the sun, and their warriors carried the Cross upon their shields. In olden days kings and nobles, when they could not write, used the sign of the Cross. That sign was used in breaking spells and for protection from evil spirits. In the East the Cross has been used as a talisman from time immemorial. The Eastern Cross as illustrated was worn as a charm against stickiness, accidents and witchcraft, also to attract good fortune. Sentences from the Koran were often inscribed upon the small pendants to make the charm still more potent.

Finger Painting Magick

Finger Painting Magick

You will need your lover, one ounce of olive oil, nine drops of vanilla scented oil and three drops of jasmine-scented  oil.
Just before you make love, take a warm bath with your beloved. Decide what you both want to direct your sexual and orgasmic  energy toward. Keep it simple and be specific. Next, mix the oils together, and paint words of endearment on your lover’s naked skin. Finger-paint one  word on your lover’s skin, then ask your lover to paint a word of love on your skin. After you paint each word, use your fingers and your imagination to  rub the oil gently and sensuously into your lover’s skin. See how many words you spell before you fall passionately into the throws of lovemaking. Direct  your lovemaking energies toward a shared goal or dream.

Things To Do Today – Make Your Own Scrying Mirror

Scrying Mirror

Items Needed:

Photo frame with a removable back and removable glass at least 8×10 inches

High gloss, black paint (non aerosol)

Paint thinner (if recommended for clean up on the paint can directions)

Paint brush

Newspaper

Remove the glass from the frame and place it on the newspaper. Using long, smooth strokes, paint one side of the glass. It is imperative that there are no unpainted areas (no matter how small). Wait until the paint is dry, and replace it with the glass-side facing out.

How to use your scrying mirror

Scrying mirrors are used to induce visions, and answer questions. Before starting, make sure the room your in is as dark as possible. Some people like to place a small votive candle behind the mirror in a pitch black room. If you have a specific intention, chant it in your mind, or whisper it out loud over and over until you’re mind is completely focused on nothing else.

The way to use the mirror is to not look at, but through the surface of it. Gaze into its blackness. Images, colors will soon begin to appear. If this method doesn’t feel right for you, I suggest skipping the candle and using a dark cloth to make a kind of tent covering yourself and the mirror.

Some people may experience difficulty getting results at first. It can take some people weeks to get results from scrying, so you may have to practice this a number of times. Be patient with yourself, make sure you are grounded and completely focused. Also, don’t just hope for visions to appear, expect them. Enjoy your journeys in this fascinating form of divination.

August 23 – Daily Feast

August 23 – Daily Feast

Painting a picture is much the same as living a life. Some of us only get the outline sketched while others find the time and desire to mix beautiful colors and brush them on canvas. Color is used sparingly on some canvases, others are somber and dark with little or no highlights. But those whose cheerful colors, cardinal reds, sunflower yellows, and all shades of purple and lilac, show us that life does not have to be ordinary. The Master Artist, U ne la nv hi, gave us all pallets and pots of bright colors to use boldly, or to mix in subtle but lively shades. We have been given the general sketch but it is left to us to fill in the colors, harmonizing and blending until we get the right tones. Each of us is a painter and each has the charge to make life a work of art.

~ They searched for a long period of time for the source of life, and at last came to see the thought that it issues from an invisible creative power to which they applied the name Wa-ko-da. ~

“A Cherokee Feast of Days” by Joyce Sequichie Hifler

Good News for Us, Bad News for You, Sorry……..

I am sure everyone that has been following our site knows about the fire we suffered, plus a tree falling on the older half of the building. You also know I have been pulling my hair out dealing with contractors.

The good news is that I found a contractor to do the roof. I opted to go with a metal roof. Hopefully we won’t have any problems with it for the next 50 years, lol! My luck at least 20! The roofers have now finished and the roof looks awesome. Today, the painters have showed up to paint the inside of the building. The insurance adjuster (who has been absolutely great) insisted on the entire building being painted. So that is what is happening today. Due to this fact, we can’t very well get today’s publication out and have the painters paint over us. I hope you understand. Besides we have a new computer or two and I don’t won’t paint on them at all. So we have decided to vacate the office(and take the computers with us) and let the painters have it. If they get finished early, we will be back on to do some postings. But if not, we will see you tomorrow.

Again, I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause some. But it is one of those circumstances that is once again beyond our control.

Have a great day and a super weekend,

Luv & Hugs,

Lady A

Empowering the Square

Empowering the Square

Use smudge and proceed clockwise round the square from the top north-west corner (as you face north)  until you end at the same place. If possible empower at sunset, and as close to the three days after the full moon as you can.

Make a swirl at each corner with the smudge and ask for blessings and protection from the benign  lesser earth spirits who will, if you are fortunate, take up position there (especially if you have taller rocks on which for them to make a  home).

Greet each of the loftier mid-point guardians, however you picture them, by raising your smudge to  the sky and then downwards to the earth. Greet each of the guardians on the first occasion with a small rounded black stone offering (you can use jet or  tourmaline if you want to use a crystal but not the fiery obsidian).

Unlike archangels, a land wight may not reveal his specific name so greet him as “sacred or  noble land wight of the northern land” and so on round the four directions.

You can if you wish refer to the northern direction guardian as Tiwaz the Viking spirit warrior who  represents the Pole Star, the east as Odin the Viking father god, the south as Thor the mighty thunder and blacksmith god and the west as Ingvi or Ingwaz,  the ancient fertility god who, according to the old sagas or legends went anticlockwise, against the sun, that is westwards.

You can empower a temporary or large visualized square by standing in the center and pointing your  smudge in the same order as you walked; north-west corner, north center, north-east corners, etc. and repeating the words as you turn the smudge clockwise  and anticlockwise.

If you are making a protective square of light around yourself in a dangerous place, picture staves  of light rising vertically at all eight points.

Magick squares don’t need to be uncast as their energies will flow back and forth from the  soil.

Re-empower a permanent magick square monthly at sunset, on any day during the three days after the  full moon.

My Magickal Gift to You for Aug. 19th – Make Your Own Marblized Spell Paper

MAKE YOUR OWN MARBLIZED SPELL PAPER

You will need:

a large bottle of liquid starch
several colors of acrylic paints
two large flat baking dishes or dish pans
a few custard cups
small bowls or empty margarine containers
paint brushes
a variety of tools to create patterns in the paint (such as a feather, nut
pick, ice pick, coiled rubber cord, wire whisk, potato masher, fork or
wide-toothed hair comb)

Fill one baking dish or dish pan with starch to a depth of about 2 inches;
fill the second one with cool water. In custard cups or other small
containers, dilute each paint color until it just barely drips from a brush.
Then drip colors on top of the starch until the surface of the starch is
nearly covered.

Create a pattern in the starch with one or many of your tools. Move the
desired tool through the paint in straight lines, at geometric angels, in
circles, or in rays. Even if you leave the dots undisturbed to produce a
pebble pattern, no two patterns will be the same. Feel free to experiment
and be creative!

Hold a card or piece of paper by opposite corners and bend it gently so the
paper sags slightly. Lay it gently on top of the paint, but do not allow the
paper to sink below the surface. Immediately lift paper back out of the
starch. Hold it over the dish and allow the paint to drip off for a few
seconds.

Rinse paper in the dish of plain water. Lift paper out of water and allow it
to drip for about 15 seconds or until most of the water has dripped off. Lay
the paper flat, paint side up, on a work surface to dry.

When done just write prayers/ spells on papers, roll up of fold with an
offering of herbs and or dried flowers, seed pods etc. and burn in your
cauldron or dish.

Offer the burned remains to the wind……
